My experience was very good. We came in just before closing and the employees were very nice and did not resent our late arrival. There were a few other customers and they were already eating. I ordered the Fresh Cedar Planked Salmon. It was so good and I walked out feeling stuffed. My wife had the Shrimp Alfredo and she was very pleased with it. If I live in Wisconsin, I would return to that restaurant on a regular basis.

A fun place to hang and watch a game while getting some good craft beer and snacks. Attached by a walkway to the Holiday Inn of Pewaukee. Their beer selection was pretty good and not too expensive. Their snack menu was also good. I had the buffalo wings as well as the spicy tuna nachos. They were both really good. Sat at the bar and watch the world series game 6.

This place is big. It's mostly a hunter's lodge style restaurant. But it has a little bit of sports bar and banquet hall mixed in. We got in at 7:00 PM on Saturday. The place was packed but we got a table. Probably because I called ahead and got a reservation. I'm so good...lol. Anyway, I'll give this 4 starts compared to other similar style restaurants. Like Outback or any other chain steak place. Compared to a high end steak place this place would not compare. The food was OK. I liked the atmosphere. Prices were decent. It looks like this place is good for groups. There was a group of very nicely dressed people there (dresses and suits).

I thought this place was above average. I ordered the 3 tomato pasta and my wife ordered the Friday Fish Fry. I thought the pasta was well balanced with the capers and tomatoes. I would have been more pleased if I received more than 1 small piece of garlic bread with the pasta. On the other hand I was looking for pasta feed, because I was running a marathon the following morning, so I won't judge the portion size. Even though I did consume the pasta in record time, it was in my mouth long enough to know that it was classy. It had smart ingredients and I enjoyed it. I did have a sample of my wife's fish and thought it was excellent. It tasted very fresh and the breading was not overwhelming. I did ask for more bread, because the portion was not big enough for me, so the waitress brought me an assortment of rolls and biscuits. I'll tell you, those biscuits were right on the money. Be sure to put some cinnamon butter on them. The service was fast, the restaurant was quiet, and the food was good. I recommend it.

Great place - killer salad bar, sushi & shrimp taco super!

Great lunch spot! I've been twice now for work lunches, and was very happy with the food, service, and atmosphere both times. I had french onion soup and the salad bar on my first visit. It was a quick and healthy lunch, until I found the oreo fluff for dessert at the salad bar! On today's visit, our group of ten ordered off the lunch menu so the service was quite a bit slower - but I was very impressed with the entree selections. The menu offered many sandwich and lunch-portion entrees for under $10, and all got good reviews from my coworkers. My chicken chorizo wrap was delicious! Thunder Bay has a rustic, outdoorsy theme making it easy to pretend you're at a national park lodge, rather than making a quick escape from the office. I haven't been to the bar there, but it looks like a fun happy hour spot as there's a lot of space in the bar area and comfortable-looking couch seating. This location also has a lot of private dining rooms, so would be a good spot for special events or a big family dinner.

Decided to try this place based on Yelp reviews. Lovely decor and friendly staff. Unfortunately, we had to send our pitcher of sangria back as it was watery, overflowing ice and very, very tart! Decided to try the Zen instead. Whew! Full grain alcohol! Tough ribs, steak ordered rare and delivered well done. The coconut shrimp skewers were fantastic! It's our first visit to Pewaukee. Next time we'll probably choose a different place for dinner.

Came here for a networking event, and that was lots of fun. I opted for the salad bar, but the soups had meat in them, so not an option. I have learned to ask, because even what you think you could get (like potato soup) has bacon in it! I thought it was as pricey as what I would get in SoCal, and because we were a group, they topped off my lunch with a tip. How special. They have a nice room that we used for our group meeting, so it would work nicely for a large family group as well.

This restaurant is based more so off of my experience renting out a room for a bridal party . The food itself I would give three 1/2 stars . The potato soup I would give five stars . The staff I would give one star . ( Some are really nice , some weren't so friendly but mainly because of the disorganization ). We had meet with the party planner a month before the event . She was told we were interested in throwing a baby shower , so we had told her it was actually for a bridal shower . We were given a room that is connected directly off of the bar . She said we could rent black or white table clothes . We had said we would like to reserve 8 white ones to cover all the tables . She said a buffet line would be set up between the bar area and the room to kinda separate it . There was a table with a TV above it that we could use to set up decorations . She said since our group was going to be 30 or more she would hire extra staff for the event and to help set up . Day of: There is ONE staff member to help set up and also be the only waitress for the entire duration of the bridal shower . There was no wheeled in buffet line, instead where the table for my decorations/ gifts were suppose to go was now where the buffet was set up . She did however find a folding table to help place my decorations and helped as a area for the gifts . No white table clothes were reserved for us and she said there weren't any left available for us to use . We had to use black ones( if she still had some ) which was not matching the theme of a bridal shower , hence why we originally reserved white ones . We were told we would have the room all night and at around 7:30 we were told we had to hurry up and leave because they wanted to use the room to seat customers( this was said in a more polite manner , but the point was heard loud and clear ) . The manager on at the time started tearing down our decorations and adjusting the room back before we had even started to settle for the party . In the end , the room was just not ideal for a big party . I would say if we had half the amount ( about 15 people ) it would have been way more comfortable . The only way the chairs fit for everyone was placing them all directly next to each other . The chairs themselves were comfortable though ! I didn't really like how the room was open rite off the bar , but luckily it wasn't to busy that night . I did like the fact they let you bring in your own decorations to help make the place feel personal . It was never specified to people the only beverages covered were soda , tea , wine and mimosa so people ordered all different drinks we ended up paying for , which at the end of the day isn't the biggest deal . You don't throw a bridal shower expecting it to be cheap . I would not recommend this place for a party or shower unless you are having a SMALL group , or are guaranteed a large private room . Everything felt very disorganized and clearly there is communication issues between the the staff . The food however is good and high quality. I WOULD recommend this place for dinner or lunch ! They have a great salad bar with lots of options and kept at the rite temperature .

Save your money. My husband and I looked online and thought the price range and menu items looked good, so we went. When we arrived, it was freezing in the dining room. I commented to the server who seated us and she replied, "I'm so hot!". She also commented that the menus were COMPLETELY different. When our server, Nate, asked how we were doing tonight, I replied "Freezing!" and he answered, "Yeah, it is pretty cold in here." He did not offer to see if he could do something about it (like maybe turn down the A/C-it is not hot outside). The menu reflected a significant increase in prices and several of the items that had attracted us were no longer part of the menu. I chose the sea scallops and my husband had the Alfredo pasta and added shrimp. The server asked me what side I wanted. I looked at him expectantly. He stared back until I suggested that maybe he could tell me what my choices were. (the menu did not indicate that there was a side included) He told me I could choose some kind of potato (I had to prompt him for what kinds were offered), or I could have roasted vegetables or asparagus. Those last two choices were on the description for the meal so I was confused until he told me that sometimes people want more because there are only 4 (referring to asparagus, I assumed). I chose sweet potato only to have him return later to tell me that they didn't have any more sweet potatoes. While we were waiting for our food, my husband heard the table behind us talking about how their order had been messed up. The server brought sweet biscuits and sweet flavored butter, the biscuits were mediocre at best and dry as a bone without the butter. In my opinion, a sweet biscuit was an odd offering before the meal, but that is just a personal choice. Our meal came and the first thing I noticed was that my $21 meal included only 4 scallops, 4 stalks of asparagus and a 1/3 cup (approx) of "roasted" vegetables (which were flavorless and seemed to be mostly water). My husband paid an additional $4.99 for 6 med shrimp and the Alfredo sauce was watery and bland. Both of us had to salt and pepper our meals in hopes of flavoring our meals. The quality of our meals was "ok" but closer to what we'd expect if we'd ordered the same items at Denny's. None of the staff looked to be happy. And, the server did not return to check on us until we were almost finished (we ate it because we were starving)....and he never asked us how our meal was, just asked if he could get us anything else. The dining room has vaulted ceilings causing the conversations around us to be very loud. This meal/dining experience was definitely not worth $45

Had the bison meatloaf and very happy with my choice. Green beans rocked. Overall a good choice.

Got take out - a burger and an Ahi Tuna salad - and found it was surprising better than I'd anticipated. The burger was the correct temp (even after being boxed), and my lover, who ate the salad, said she would have it again, and thought it was very tasty. She said the salad was worthy of four stars, but I just couldn't bring myself to giving the overall experience all four. I'd say a solid three and a half stars is appropriate.

Met a friend here for brunch over the weekend and was less than impressed. Our server wasn't very attentive and my coffee got cold / empty more than once. Also, none of the food on the brunch buffet was very hot, or even mildly warm in some cases. For the price, I've definitely experienced WAY better - not sure I'd go back.

I was at Thunder Bay last night for dinner. I love their salad bar. It can be so hard to find a great salad bar but Thunder Bay delivers. Our service was excellent. The drinks were good and I had a ribeye steak that was completely delicious. I can't wait to go back.

Stopped in for a late lunch / early dinner on Sunday. Had a nice round table for 6 of us. I wasnt too hungry so I ordered the Flatbread Pizza - very plain and boring. Also had a side of gourmet mac n cheese - very good. Others in the table had Ribs and Pork Chop, Salad, and Seafood Dish. Everyone else seemed to like their food. Kids enjoyed thier kids menu selection as well as a free "ticket" to get something out of a treasure box for kids - Nice touch for families. The restaurant is beautiful with a very nice and very big area! Def a nice place to get a cocktail or have dinner in the bar room.
(4)Michael G.
My experience was less than stellar. Ahi tuna dry as the desert. And it was raining that day. Blackening seasoning nonexistent. The French onion soup was decent but a little salty. Calamari app was okay. Do not go out of your way.

Just ate here Wed evening. We had a delightful waitress who took her time with us. Business was slow but I suspect she would have provided same service regardless of business. Food was good and was ample size.

My first time to Thunder Bay Grill. I went with a group of ten and we were seated just off of the front door in a separate room so, unfortunately I can't tell you much about the ambiance of the rest of the place, but our private area was cozy and had a huge window. I had the Killer Bouillabaisse, an awesome seafood stew. Loved it! Everyone else really enjoyed their meals, as well. Service was fine. Not great, but, well, they did their job.

We came as part of a package deal with our hotel, Wildwood lodge, it was for our anniversary. We really enjoyed our waiter he was very friendly. Food was delicious! Nice decor. Steaks were good, grilled asparagus a little burnt but still edible and tasted fine. Wasn't a fan of baked potato soup but was happy with our dinner and service.
(4)James K.
My pork chop was good, but a little over cooked, and the service was top notch. The chicken Marsala was a bit too creamy for our liking. The deserts were mostly bad, except for the lava cake. I am sure all of them are from a supplier. Skip desert here. For the price, they are not worth it - which is why 3 stars.
(3)Hoss J.
Good food, good location relative to the hotel next door. Ambience is very nice. Service was horrible at first but turned out better than perceived. I will try it again as the steak was actually good, dont have to be skimpy on the rosemary potatoes tho, and the place is fairly nice.
(4)Neil R.
Awesome brunch. Lots to choose from, fresh and delicious. I would recommend Thunder Bay.
(5)Ben H.
I seldom give five stars, but...we came to Thunder Bay to find it was their 15 year anniversary. The place was crowded! Our daughters blood sugar dropped to 46. I called to our waiter. Jim, and asked that he quickly bring some soda. Within the minute he had two sodas at our table. A great experience fron a harried and very busy waiter. Thanks to Jim for his understanding.

Their website and the signage outside of the restaurant say that the restaurant is open until 11 pm, so we went there last night at 10:25 pm to get a late dinner on the way home from the Waukesha County Fair. When someone finally came to the hostess station we were told the kitchen closes at 10. When we mentioned the hours posted at the door say they are open until 11, she got a manager who told us the kitchen was closed. When I told him of the hours posted outside he came outside with us and said that was wrong, the kitchen closes at 10. After politely expressing our disappointment we went to Appleby's. This was the second time this happened to us there. On Christmas Eve we took my mom there for lunch, and arrived at about 1:55 pm, and while there were still people eating no one approached us to seat us. Finally around 2:05 someone came up and said they were closing. I asked about the hours, assuming they had early closing becauses of Christmas Eve and she said we needed to be seated by 2 to be served. When I mentioned we had been waiting for someone to wait on us for 10 minutes, she said sorry, but it's too late. We ended up eating at Appleby's! :-(

The waitress was nice and friendly but the food was terrible! I asked for medium rare salmon it came out over cooked and burnt. Another guest got the Ahi tuna which is served rare and it also came out well done. When we told the waitress she apologized and said she would have the kitchen make a new one. Then she informed us they don't serve salmon medium rare, but she could redo the tuna. It doesn't make sense, that you could serve one fish rare and not another one. She took both meals off the bill which was so kind. At that point I should have passed on dinner but instead I got an appetizer. The chicken taco was not even warm and fish taco was overcooked again. I will not return.

my family has been dining here for almost the entirety of our 20 years in WI, as it is one of the few nicer restaurants in Waukesha County that always has seating for larger groups. the quality has really declined in recent years, w/pretty unforgivable repeat offenses like forgetting (or not caring) to season entrees and cooking them inapppropriately (well dones for rares, etc), while prices continue to climb. the weekend AYCE brunch is still a great deal though, and the only thing i'll come for anymore
(2)Emily M.
A solid 4.5 stars for Thunder Bay Grille! The Thunder Bay Grille is a nice lunch or dinner spot. I have come here on a few occasions - a bigger group (10 people, 6 people) and as a 'date night' location with just two of us. Our service was consistent each and every time, and I've never walked away with an impression of poor quality food or service. The interior always gets me when we walk in - it reminds me of an old Girl Scout camp, a la "The Parent Trap," where you find old camping relics from the 50's and 60's. If you have a bigger group, they are really good about accommodating - just make sure to call for reservations first. If you're looking for a romantic dinner, they offer a nice area by a huge, fireplace in the main area. The bar is HUGE, and they do offer live music on some nights (it used to be Friday, but I've heard it moved to Thursday now). Nice beer selection, an impressive spread of craft beers, or top shelf liquors - whatever you prefer, they offer it. When you are seated, they bring these awesome sweet biscuits with a cinnamon / honey butter spread. Sometimes it's hard to share those - if I could stay and eat those all night, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem for me. They're really good. They also offer a really nice salad bar! There's something for everyone here. I usually go with the homemade chicken soup when I order my meal. Huge chunks of chicken and big, wide egg noodles - I don't know what they put in their soup, but it's delicious and I always have to get it. Don't get me wrong - it's not as good as my mom's chicken noodle soup - but it's up there. Overall we will continue to come here when we are in the area - food and service are consistently good and they always impress me. Make sure to try something different each time, they offer a lot of delicious meals here.

We have been here a number of times and overall the food is good. I would say that if you are looking for an inexpensive dinner you should probably look elsewhere as prices are a bit higher than most restaurants. I have tried a number of their entrées, but a lot of times I have done the salad bar which is usually very fresh and offers many options other than just salad. Soups are good especially if they have been freshly made. Overall we enjoy Thunder Bay.
(4)Tim D.
New to the area and seemed to have a good crowd each time we drove by to frequent another nearby restaurant that we do like a lot. Nice ambiance, decor etc. Service was average at best, slow! The meal was extremely average, small portions, my steak was overlooked and served warm, my appetizer was soup, also served warm and not hot! The restaurant had a good crowd, yet seems to be a "hit & miss" feeling about it, we missed........ Life is too short to go back there again.
(2)Janelle D.
Went there for lunch on a Saturday with another person. Staff was very friendly even when the computers were down for a few minutes due to weather and orders took a few minutes longer to get out of the kitchen. Atmosphere was great and comfortable. Ordered the BLT & Bacon sandwich meal and the fresh atlantic salmon. The chardonnay dill sauce on the salmon was amazing! I substituted rice with fried potatoes and glad I did. Potatoes tasted great. The BLT & Bacon sandwich was also delicious. Try the margarita & pina colada drink - very tasty! The kitchen even made a batch of their delicious biscuits upon request which was a treat. Looking forward to going back here soon for lunch, dinner, or drinks.

The restaurant is connected by a covered outdoor walkway from the Holiday Inn hotel so was convenient. I was staying at the Holiday Inn for a couple of weeks during winter in January so I dined at the restaurant some nights because I didn't want to have to get in the car and look for something else in the weather. I've had the chicken jambalaya, the Chicken Alfredo, and the Three Tomato Pasta at different visits. I couldn't really eat any of it because it was sooooo rich and salty. By the third visit I decided to get the tomato pasta because it was a vinaigrette sauce hoping it would be lighter since it wasn't a cream base but it was overpowering in the vinegar. I couldn't take more than two bites before pushing it away. Their cloth napkins STINK! I don't know what they wash it in but it is not pleasant to wipe your mouth with. I didn't even use it. Yes all three times I dined there the napkins were just as nasty. I know that everyone has a different pallet but the chef or owner there must not have any taste buds or sense of smell. How can a restaurant provide napkins that stink so terribly to their guests and food that is so overpowering? Perhaps I have a sensitive nose but I've never encountered anything like that in a restaurant before. I also had appetizers during my visits. I had the shrimp cocktail and that was again extremely salty. They told me that the shrimp was fresh, but it was frozen. I also had the french onion soup and that was disgusting. The cheese floating on top looked like it was floating there for days. I went to lift it up and it came out like a flat hockey puck. It was luke warm so the cheese did not melt in the soup. Tasted like something from a vending machine. I only had one sip of it. I think I gave this restaurant enough chances. I will not return. Tonight when the waitress asked me how the food was, I told her it was very vinegary and hard to eat. When I asked for the bill she even acknowledged that I didn't even touch my food and asked if I wanted anything else instead. I said no and she went to get the bill. I was surprised to see that they still billed me for the entire meal. No biggie but I would think that if a guest wasn't happy with the food at least deduct 10% off or something. But whatever. I think I got bitten too.
(2)Ben W.
Great friday fish fry! Wonderful atmosphere. Never have to wait for a table. Plus, I sat in the same seat as Bart Starr 5 minutes after he left. Wow!
(5)Michelle A.
I really want to like this place- we have give it many chances. Salad bar is awesome , food is pricey but decent . The area this place fails is service, we have had experiences here from being forgotten, indifferent to down right rude! We kept going back thinking it was a fluke but after the last time of being totally ignored by waitstaff for 15 minutes I know we will not be back.
(2)Allyson C.
The prime rib was EXCELLENT, one of the best I've ever had. Great service, great drinks. One thing to note: we went to the bar after our dinner, the service and drinks were great but it was definitely an older crowd that was listening to the equally older folk music. It said "Classic rock" but this was more like "ancient rock". We are 25, and were by far the youngest people there. Wasn't a huge deal though since we didn't go for the band.
(5)Mike V.
Well I went here for the first time on a Saturday around 7pm. My girlfriend and I were promtly seated and it only took a minute or two before our server came by. This restaurant is MASSIVE and has a ton of rom for banquets and receptions. The food here is pretty pricey, with most entrees STARTING at $13 or so up to about $30 for steak type meals. I ordered the half-rack of ribs and was disappointed. They were very tender, but it was about 60% bones in the end and very little meat for the $16 price tag. It felt more like it was a 1/4 rack tha anything. Also I got the loaded sweet potato, which I didn't notice was $3 more just for them to add marshmallows, cinnamon, and some pecans! My girlfriend had chicken alfredo, which was a very small portion for a pasta dish (considering noodles are basically costless to most restaurants). The chicken also had a very strong and distinct taste, but not really in a good way. Our server was fine and everything was as ordered, but the small portions for the higher price compared to other local restaurants really turned me off to this place. It's nice for a fancy meal, but not if you're hungry.
(3)Duke A.
Third time here. Not much to brag about. Don't think I will be back. Fish was overcooked and had a strong taste. Tuna was subpar. Steak was ok
(1)Joyce R.
Disappointing fish. 8 women went for the Friday fish fry. Since I am from out of state, I was expecting something decent. Instead, the fried fish was way oversalted, so I picked off much of the coating. Those who ordered the baked fish got fishy tasting rubbery fish served in a bowl! In all fairness the pasta dishes were tasty. Neither I nor my local friends will ever bother going there again.
(2)Molly D.
I've eaten dinner here on a few occasions and it was always fairly good. But I went to brunch this Sunday and it was pretty decent for the price as well. Between two of us we tasted most things there. A quick run down: Waffles & French Toast - not very warm, but tons of toppings. Peaches, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, whipped cream, walnuts, and their infamous cinnamon butter. Miscellaneous pastries, but they had a blueberry bread that melted in my mouth, I added the cinnamon butter on top. The cinnamon doughnut holes were great as well. Salad bar - as to be expected. Pretty good as far as salads bar go. They have this option available all of the time. Beef Strogonoff - the meat was a little chewy but had good flavor overall Biscuits & gravy - probably the worst thing I tried. The gravy was flavorless and the biscuits were hard. Don't waste your stomach space. Bison meatball - HUGE. And pretty good. Kind of random. Steak tips and mashed potatoes - Decent but wouldn't get again Cheesy potatoes - I cut up bacon and added it to them making them excellent Desserts - a good selection of small bites, my favorite was the peanut butter chocolate covered rice krispie treats. *they also had made to order omelets, sliced ham, sweet potatoes, fiesta eggs, chicken, bbq pork tenderloin - all of which we didn't try. The standout however was the Bloody Mary (not included in the price of the buffet). It had house infused garden veggie vodka and what I believe was a homemade mix. It was a tiny bit spicy but not overwhelming and extremely flavorful. It came with a green olive, tomato and SPICY pickle. I've been thinking about it since I left and will for sure be back for more!

My husband and I are from California, we been eating out every night to experience the local food and to try places they do not have in California, up until Thunder Bay Grille we were batting a 1000, the service was tacky to say the least, we seemed more like a bother then a customer. My husband wanted to take his left overs back to the hotel, that turned out to be a issue, the container was way smaller then what was needed, we where not asked if we wanted a bigger container, the waitress watched as the excess spilled on to the table, then we asked for a plastic bag to put the left overs in, it was brought to the table crumbled in a ball and literally thrown on the table in front of him. Please know we where not rude, we had smiles, we said thank you, there was no reason for the lack of customer service we received. I would not recommend this place to my Dog..

What a surprise this place is. Who would have thought there is night life and tapas in Pewaukee? The menu is diverse. You can go fancy and expensive or simple and cheaper. Whatever choice you make, the food is fantastic. When you enter it looks like a metro night club/high end bar. Happy hour anybody? The dining room is fancy with ceiling to floor windows overlooking a pond. The tapas are very simple but so delicious. The guacamole and sliders are among my favorites. There is a grand room dedicated to their enormous, fresh salad bar.

A screaming baby ruined the evening. James should of comped the meal, and asked the family to leave.
(1)Samantha P.
Great service, has changed a lot over the years and is better to eat during the day without the big business rush. Best salad bar ever! Ever want a party, they have more than enough rooms to accommodate!
(5)Angela D.
I've been here for dinner alone, dinner with a coworker and a large happy hour event. In every case service was prompt, friendly and fast. Dinner is always good, I've never been disappointed in anything I've ordered, both food and drinks. Dining room has cozy tables, a big fireplace, and nice dark, quiet ambience. Bar area is active, not too noisy and has large TVs for watching whatever you want, I prefer the lounge with high back chairs and a laid back feel. I recently discovered the small plates, which I often order when dining alone while working in the lounge. REALLY good and very inexpensive, especially for the seafood options. Scallops scampi and shrimp shooter were VERY fresh and tasty and only a few dollars. They also have an extensive bar, they even have my favorite gin - Hendricks, and I can order it with cucumber which a lot of places cannot accomodate. Its niche, and picky, but I appreciated it nonetheless :)

I ate at the TBG three times during a one week business stay, lodging at the excellent Comfort Suites just across the road. It has a large and busy bar area to one side. The dining room faces a made made pond with a fountain for visual interest. Orioles, geese and egrets waddle and fly around the edges of the pond, among the reeds. I was served on my first night by a superb attentive waitress named Dorian. I was a little taken aback by her excellence and during the meal suggested she take her self and her resume off to 11 Madison in New York where she would fit right in and earn big tips. The menu, besides steak, fish and burgers featured a wide variety of $4 to $5 tapas plates. Steak skewers caught my eye as did the crab-stuffed shrimp. Dorian reccommended the Black Iron Ahi tuna. As I hadn't had it before despite way too long wondering how it would taste from seeing it on so many menus I said "I'll take it". She said it was "like butter" and (doing the quick math) I said- "just bring me a stick of butter instead". Oh- how we laughed! I had a cold pint of Guinness and ate the entire basket of bread while I was waiting. I may have eaten the wicker bread basket too- certainly needed a toothpick afterwards. Small portions (but it's Tapas so...) of utter deliciousness. I now plan to eat Ahi tuna for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For dessert I ordered my favorite Sambuca Romana and a double espresso. The Sambuca was dee-liscious (as always) but the espresso was a no-go. The espresso machine died a month previously apparently and that needs to be remedied by a visit from a repairman or a new machine. On my second visit- no Dorian- but good service nonetheless. A Caesar salad, with shaved Romano and crunchy crutons was despatched and washed down with more Guinness. A medium rib-eye steak with a simple accompaniment of hot crispy hand-cut fries was vacuumed off the plate. Needed no seasoning, sauce or help from me. A good cut of meat, easy to slice and digest. Dessert ? I asked to look at the menu but instead a tray of goodies was brought out to gaze upon. There was a number of choices, including a creme brulee and red velvet cake, but it was the raspberry parfait with marscapone cheese that made me order. It was a wise choice. The prices were ridiculously good value....less than $30 for a three course, well-cooked meal, with brisk attentive service. For my thrid night I started at the bar where the excellent (one of several) bartender Chris poured me more Guinness while I watched one of the many flat screen TVs playing sports (with the sound off as it should be when athletes talk about "executing" and "making plays" and " I predict that the team with the highest score will have a chance of winning the game"). Smoking is allowed at the bar. This night I had a booth by the gas fireplace and ordered up a "drunken Steak" which had some beer used in the making-of. A lot of garlic went into the recipe too and made an already choice filet, seared and served medium, outstanding. Easy to slice, tasty with each bite and it settled well into my stomach. A vegetable accompaniment of steamed al dente green beans hit the spot. I had another Ahi tuna tapas as my appetizer,a Caesar salad and a Marscapone parfait with raspberries and strawberries and was well satisfied for $30. Superb value. 18 miles west of Milwaukee, exit 294 and worth the drive. For me it was a two minute stroll from my hotel. Will go back!

I agree with Katie. My office is in Sussex and selection for lunches out here is quite minimal. Thunder Bay does have a nice salad bar. Lunch combo's are nice. Tasty and affordable. I have a craving for a nice salad today and will be back.

I've always wanted to try Thunder Bay Grille because I've been there for corporate events and the appetizers they serve during those events are delicious. After looking over the menu and not seeing anything I fell in love with, we decided to stay in order to try it. The service was awful. The quality of the food was sub-par. They removed one of the things I ordered for my meal because it came out after over an hour of waiting and everyone else in my party was served. We were told by the server that the food would all come out separately which we thought was strange but it was fine, we were hungry. But the fact that I never got my flatbread pizza, which was.. mehh in terms of taste... was awful. Won't go again unless I get the free bbq meatballs at the next corporate event!

Live Music is no longer offered at ThunderBay Grille. I hear the redecorating is posh, but without live music and dancing, this just isn't going to make our list of places to go out. Prior review: This place has a lively night life with live music most weekend nights. Some space for dancing, but bring your dance shoes with smooth bottoms as the dance surface is carpet tiles and slate.
