I have been ordering cakes from here off and on for about the past 5 years. The cakes are delicious but YES. Deanna you hit the nail on the head. They are downright RUDE. And yes, it's the luck of the draw. Sometimes I get a cake where the decorator obviously put thought into it and other times it's just plain like they did it in less than 5 minutes. I'm surprised they stay in business and that people keep coming back but the cakes do taste fabulous. So if you know all that and know that you have to give them very specifics and that yes, they are rude and you are okay with all of the above then go ahead and order your cakes from them. BUT don't expect to be treated with courtesy. You are not the only one Debbie has been argumentative with and it's my understanding that she's the owner! Actually my friends and I have an ongoing joke about how rude the people are that work there! Pretty sad!!!

This is my first review on yelp and I had to put it up (and make an account) after I read the other review about this cake shop. My experience was almost exactly the same! My sister needed a cake to celebrate her daughters 2nd bday. We had never been in before, and the employees acted mad that we were there wanting a cake! They didn't want to be bothered to help tell us what options there were. Unfortunately we went ahead and placed an order by picking a cake out of a notebook of pictures they had. When we went to pick it up, it was missing decorative elements that we had specifically pointed out from the picture. The owner was mad when we complained, and begrudgingly fixed the cake (which took less than 5 minutes!). She handed the cake back and wouldn't speak or make eye contact with us. My sis & I both felt guilty, like it was our fault, even though the details had been written out on the order. So to try to make peace, we said a nice "thank you and goodbye" to which NONE OF THE EMPLOYEES, including the OWNER would even look up or speak to us!!! Sadly it's the employees at this place, including the owner, that make it so miserable! I get much better customer service from the bakery at Costco!

I went here to order a cake the other day. The staff was unfriendly and not very helpful. The bakery is small and when I came in not one of the 3 employees greeted me or asked if I needed any help. When someone did come to the counter I said I would like to order a cake. I have never ordered a cake from here before so I didn't know what they had available and what they could do. She asked what size and kind of cake I wanted. When I told her I had no idea what sizes they come in and what they had available she didn't even give me the options that were available! I also had no idea as to what decorations they were able to do...She made me feel as if I was bothering her and wasting her time. I cancelled my order since I have gotten better service at Sam's Club for a fraction of the cost.

Back in 2009 we had our wedding cake done here, not only did they get the flavor wrong, it looked like a toddler did it! It was suppose to have a fondant ribbon around the layers, but instead the airbrushed it(and not very well at all). When we brought it to their attention, they sent us a copy of our order where we approved it all...except it had my initials on it, and I wasn't even there when it was ordered! Their response in the end? $25 gift certificate to them. Save your money and go somewhere else!

Deb emailed saying we could discuss this if I first take down my "MEAN" and "UNTRUE" post here. Which is hilarious. I had a giant square sticking out of my cake, so I'm not sure how I could make this up. I'll update this post if they ever admit they messed up and try to work with me. In the meantime fellow Yelpers, beware!

Yuk. Ordered a red velvet cake and it was terrible. the cake itself was dry and dense. The frosting was so sickening sweet I took one bite and was done. If you're looking for a good bakery try Miss Julias in Brookfield or Simmas in Tosa. Honestly you could probably even get a better cake from your local grocery store.

Despite the reviews on here I went to get my daughters 1st communion cake from here. The cake turned out beautiful and tasted yummy. The service was friendly and efficient -I have no complaints and will definitely use them again.

Not sure what all the fuss is with the other reviews for "Cakes". Ok, the customer service was just good, not great. The photo albums & order-taking process could be updated, and the woman who carried the birthday cake to the register from the cooler almost dropped it. BUT...she caught it, the design was very nice, the price was reasonable, and the vanilla cake with butter cream frosting was decadently delicious!! Was it the best experience ever? No. But I would also have no hesitation ordering from them again.

I ordered a cake and cupcakes for my husband's 40th birthday. We live in Arizona and we were celebrating in Okauchee. I called ahead of time and the staff was very accommodating. I sent a few pictures of what I liked. I paid over the phone and everything was ready on time. The cake looked and tasted amazing. All the guests commented on the moistness. The fillings were great as well. I would recommend this store!

Used them for our wedding cake. We were from out of town and went in twice to finalize the cake. The price increased magically the second time we came in, even though we didn't make any changes. Also, there was a hair in the cake tasting cupcakes. Eww. The wedding cake looked very plain and underwhelming. I am a low-key person and even I knew it looked bad. There were zero compliments on the cake, but the other food went over well. We were promised a cake on our first anniversary but that didn't happen. I didn't raise a stink because the thought of dealing with them gave me a headache. It's too bad they are so awful with their customer service because it is good cake. I wouldn't recommend using them for a wedding or any big event.

So fearful flavor cake and butter cream frosting. We have used them for birthday cakes the last 3 years and the quality of the cakes have been wonderful. A bit pricey for a cake but sometimes price goes with quality and their quality is high. Now the not so good. Service can be off from time to time. We had a change in cake sizes and called in well before 24 hours and they said we can't change it as it was already made. Hmmmmm what about your policy that is posted all over the store? That knocks the rating down to 3 stars when they are priced high I expect service to match the price if not their own written policy on the wall.

I hadn't read the other reviews until after I got my cake so I was unaware of the experiences others had. Here is mine. It was Monday and I needed a bday cake for Thursday. Other places said they couldn't accommodate my request because they needed more lead time. I remembered seeing this place from driving past it so I stopped in Tuesday morning. I said I needed a bday cake for Thursday and they had no issues with the two day notice. Got the Frozen themed cake on Thursday afternoon, it looked good and it tasted good. No complaints. For customer service goes, as that's where most ppl had issues, I didn't have any and would order there again. If you want great customer service with a smile all the time, go to Disneyworld and stay on one of their properties. That's really the only place I've found to have great customer service all the time from everybody. Everyplace else is a roll of the dice.

I ordered 2 Frozen style Barbie cakes from here for my daughters birthday. The Elsa cake was to be plain flavored (for the kids at the party) and the Anna cake was to be marble with raspberry filling (for the adults) For anyone who has kids, you know how important this distinction is. I have to admit that the cakes were beautiful. We got a lot of compliments on them. However, the fillings were swapped. It was something that I was very specific when I ordered the cakes so I was very disappointed. I also had a lot of very disappointed kids since they had to eat the Anna cake. It just created a lot of unnecessary headache. The cakes were ok tasting, but the frosting was entirely too sweet. Not something that I would go out of my way to get again.

I had a good experience; called at noon for a cake and they were able to make a cake to my request that same day that I picked up at 4 for my wife's birthday at a reasonable price. We all agreed the cake tasted great and the decorations were very nice. For me this could become a goto location for cakes.

We have lived in Pewaukee for 8 years and have been here since CWYW started. Our experiences there have been consistently good cakes but inconsistent on the service. They used to offer a phenomenal coffee cake that I noticed wasn't being offered anymore. They told me they didn't like making it so they stopped even though it sold out consistently. The cakes we've gotten there have always been top notch. If your looking for a cake buying experience you may want to consider a different place. If you want a good cake that is convenient, I would suggest this place. You may have to "drive" the order and follow up to make sure it's to your specifications. As an aside I'm still amazed that the 2 closest things we have to bakeries on Pewaukee don't open until 8am. I'd love to have a place I can stop on my way to work and pick something up to bring in ( working downtown I'm rarely out of the house later than 6;30).

2/20/2014. Went back and picked up a cake from the case. They customized it no problem. Cake was great and no issues with customer service. Not sure what others are experiencing but I haven't seen it yet.
