We have continued to visit here. I used to be luke warm on the food, but the latest iteration of the menu is pretty damn good. We stuck to classics like wings, burgers and a rotisserie chicken special, and everything was really well done. If I had to complain about the food, the vegetables with the chicken appeared to be frozen... seriously? Everything else was so on point, just drop the Veg if you cannot do it fresh. They have also added a very nice outdoor patio that is mostly covered. Really nice setting. On beer, they have also slightly improved the offerings. More micros/craft beers, fewer light domestics than I remembered. The beer selection could still be greatly improved, but it is certainly serviceable. This place seems to have become the defacto hang out for weekend harley dudes with ed hardy shirts and pre-ripped jeans, so if that is your jam, put on your Bret Michaels bandana and motor on over. Would like this place so much more if they had something unique... truly great micro tap selection, unique food, huge bourbon selection, beer flights... something to separate it from all the other similar places around.

I was ready to like this place, I really was I swear. Nice clean bar, old building, varied menu. But currently, I'm at 30 minutes waiting for a sloppy joe. And they're only about 1/3 full. This tells me that the kitchen doesn't know how to work tickets. First in first out? Not the way it should work. While you're deep frying wings, look at other tickets! "Oh look! A sloppy joe! I can throw this out RIGHT NOW"! While you're waiting for your onion rings to cook- "HOLY COW- I can make this sandwich or drop the burger on the grill for the ticket down the line." How do I KNOW they're not multitasking? Because plates are coming out.. One . . . . At . . . . A . . . . Time...... Now it's been 40 minutes. For a sloppy joe. And chips. So now the food. The sandwich is not a typical pour out of a can tomato sauce. It's rather a very subtle sauce, a little sweet and a bit of tangy. Chunks of green pepper are present, but not overwhelming for those opposed (like me). The sandwich was served on a nice soft ciabatta roll. Chips are typical kettle style. Good enuff' We sat at the bar, so our server was the bartender. She kept the drinks filled, and was aware of the excessive wait for our meal. She apologized several times, and kept us up to date. Kitchen- 2 stars, but the taste and service adds a star.

If you have just stuffed yourself across the street at Johnny Manhattan's, and don't feel like you are ready to head home yet, Sloppy Joe's just might do the trick for you. MInd you, they also serve food and some of it actually looked kind of good...if I hadn't filled myself up earlier. My friend and I stopped in for a drink...or two...and had fun visiting, listening to the non-stop country tunes and watching the locals. The beer was cold and priced right. For a Saturday night, the crowd was thin. Save for a group of tobaccoo-chewin' boys in bedazzled jeans and a couple of families, that is. I would definitely check out the patio once it gets warmer and give the food a whirl.

Great food, nice staff. Very clean and quiet, we really enjoyed the wonton mozzarella marinara, brisket sandwich and steak Caesar salad. Had a great night out with a friend, I will be back.

As Jim D. above said, this is a nice countryI tavern with decent pub grub. The drink and food prices are reasonable and we have not been disappointed with anything after eating there 5 or 6 times over 2 years. They have a web page at: gosloppyjoes.com/rest.ht… for directions and the menu. We like the Joe Mama cheeseburger. It is 1/2 pound of lean ground beef with all the works on it, served on a Ciabatta bread bun. It comes with chips or fries and washes down great with a tap beer. It is across the road from another restaurant, Johnny Manhattan's, which is a larger, more expensive steak house.

We were on our way to Hubertus and hungry for lunch, so we looked for a place to stop and found Sloppy Joe's. Neat building with some great exposed stone walls and some tin signs and such on the walls. We visited right before Christmas, and they had wrapped presents and santa hats around to give a nod to the season. We dined at the bar, and I noticed that they offered about eight different beers on tap. It was over 30 minutes after we ordered when the first of our food arrived, my chicken pot pie. The waitress did mention that the pot pie takes longer, about 15 minutes after I ordered it. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time, but we weren't on a time crunch. She also apologized for the wait after 30 mins, which I appreciate. It was another 5-10 minutes before Mr. R's sloppy joe sandwich arrived. The pot pie was practically the size of a football, with a nice flaky crust on top. It was hearty, stick to your ribs fare filled with shredded chicken, hunks of potato and carrots and peas, spiced with pepper. Great job on the pot pie. I would stop again if I was in the area.

Top notch fish fry. They also have excellent wings. Choose from grilled and fried. I love the jerk burger as well. Nice little patio outside as well. Everything we've had here has been excellent. Small place so there is a wait when it gets busy. Almost forgot... On Saturdays they have one of the best bbq rib dinners I've ever had. You get what you get for sauce but the ribs are well seasoned and hard smoked. Tender but not fall off the bone.

Good service. Friendly waitress. Came on a Friday night and were seated right away. Had the best fried mushrooms in a long while. The fish was awesome. Definitely would come back but on a different night to try something else.

Sloppy Joe's is a very comfortable and well equipped Resturant. They run food specials daily. The menu is very complete and prices reflect quality food. The bar/saloon is well stocked with the popular mixers. The beer on tap includes the popular as well as a complete variety or micro brews and seasonal Hofbrau. The wait staff is here because they love it and the owner is passionate about his craft. This really shows is all aspects. They have free wifi for those spotty cellular services. Seating is about 70 and on busy nights wait times are very reasonable. Service should never lack because of the well seasoned staff. They have a master smoker for the meats as well as a qualified kitchen staff. Overall a great experience!

Outstanding! Went out for lunch last Friday cause I wanted some fish, but knew I would be busy later. Hmmm, how about Sloppy Joes. I knew he serves lunch on Friday's. Found out they recently added Bluegill and smelt. Oh my gosh! I didn't know which one to pick. Joe agreed I didn't need to compromise. I got what I called "the grand slam". Perch, base hit. Bluegill, base hit. Smelt, base hit. The home run is when they hit your mouth! Boom! Soooooo good. Have not had smelt in 25 yrs. Brought back all the great memories from the smelt trip. Mmmm. You won't be disappointed. And worth the few extra miles to drive out to Hubertus.

A nice townie bar in the Richfield/Hubertus area. Sloppy Joes seems to attract lots of Harley riders taking in the sights near Holy Hill. It's a very nice bar, with a small dining area to the right. Despite being called Sloppy Joes I was told by my dining companions that the sloppy joes were pretty "ehhh" so I stuck with a grilled ham + cheese which was quite delicious. It's always nice when you get a simple item made REALLY well, right? In other news, they have an AYCE fish fry, lots of burgers and a solid offering of bar eats. Drinks are well made and reasonably priced. Our server was attentive and didn't give us any trouble when we decided to stick around for more drinks and chat after dinner. Finally, you can expect country music on the sound system which segues to club music after 10 on the weekends. This can be a plus or a minus depending on your preferences. Overall, it's definitely worth a stop if you are in the area!

I never miss the opportunity to stop in here when I'm in town from California. Even though I may only show up 3 times a year, it always feels like home. Joe and Ellen are two of the nicest people you will ever meet, and the rest of the patrons follow suit. Step up to the plate and play a game of hammerschlaggen and meet some Sconnies that will be your best friends every time you come back.

I'm so "BLAHHHH" about this place, I'm having a hard time finding something to say about it other than to tell you about what happened during my last visit. When I asked the bartender if there were any drink specials, he said, "No free stuff, sorry. I guess you'll just have to pay full price." What the hell kind of attitude is THAT? A crappy kind, that's what. Oh, I just remembered something else, and thankfully it's more ameliorating than my query about drink specials. Their outdoor patio is pretty damn spiffy (at least it is in the dark, anyway). I felt more comfortable out there than I did in the bar marinating in the cranky bartender's bad juju.
