Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Absolutely delicious. The thick crust pizza was the best. Garlic knots were ok and a good deal but the pizza is king here. From passing it by on the street you can see everything being made fresh in the window. They have daily specials and also plenty of "by the slice" selection. Pretty good eat-in area as well. All in all, a great place with great food that looks like it's been doing it right for a long while.

I went in to get a slice of Hawaiian pizza and boy did I get a generous serving size. I found the staff to be very helpful and informative about their different pizzas. I will definitely stop by again.

Good pizza is very hard to find up here, but Ramunto's is a diamond in the rough. There is nothing fancy about it. They have 2 sizes of pizza, large thin crust and Sicilian. The Sicilian I found to be a little chewy, but it was cooked well and the sauce is excellent. The thin crust is really a New York style and is very good. It really is as close to New York Pizza as you are going to find in Vermont. The garlic knots are excellent and good sized. The cinnamon knots are even better. Big, very sweet, and everyone loved them. If you are in the area it really is a good pizza. My only complaint is I wish they had a small, we ended up with a large and 2 slices for the people who wanted something different when we would have just ordered a second small pizza

Placed an order, was told 45 min wait for delivery. After an hour and a half we get delivery, his handheld credit card wouldn't work. Pizza was cold and poorly made. If you are going to eat here- go get a slice and nothing more!

Best pizza in town! You can never go wrong with garlic and/or cinnamon knots. All of the pies are great too. Although I've only eaten the pizza, I haven't had anything here that I haven't enjoyed. The service and atmosphere aren't extraordinary but aren't bad either!

Legit New York style pizza! $5 for 2 slices of cheese pizza and a drink! Can't beat that yo! Hubby and I were craving pizza in Rutland and I found this gem on Yelp of course. Feels like you're in NY or NJ, but with the Vermont charm and friendliness! They had a few different kinds of pizza on the menu as well as garlic knots and cinnamon knots!! We ordered 2 slices of cheese pizza, 1 pepperoni, and 1 garlic tomato basil. Everything came out to $13. My fave was the classic cheese pizza. Pizza was just yum, how pizza should taste. I'll have to try their Sicilian Pizza next time I'm in town. If you're in Rutland, you must get pizza here!!! Oh and they have a small parking lot to the left of their building and don't close in the afternoon. Win!

Came from out of town with my family of 5. I think we hit the dinner rush as the line was out the door when we arrived and by the time we were eating there was no line. Most people coming in were picking up to-go orders. I can't eat pizza but my boys and husband enjoyed theirs. I had a greek salad with chicken. The chicken was delicious and the dressing was good. The lettuce was mostly iceberg-not my favorite but it was fresh tasting and filling.

I might have hit it on an off-night, but I've had better pizza at a slice joint. Maybe the hype got me but I wasn't extremely impressed with their NYC style. The crust was a little hard and the base was a little dry. The cheese was not that soft either. However, I ordered a Sicilian for delivery and I would argue that was one of the better Sicilian pies I've had outside of NY. I will give it another chance in the near future.

Stopped in when we spotted this place driving by, and were not disappointed Garlic knot pizza with Parmesan was very good, but did not stand up to the cheese calzone with mushroom You can see them toss and build the pizza's in the front window, and the seating is abundant I will look forward to stopping in next time we are in town.

This is a little pizza shop in a small town. The pizza is honestly some of the best I've had anywhere. The only better pizza places in my opinion are in NYC. You can order by the slice and they usually have at least 10 varieties I choose from. They heat up each slice after you order it. Most varieties are thin crust but there was a few square pizzas with a thicker crust as well. I also had the cinnamon knots which were delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable with the boys running anywhere from a dollar something to three dollars.

Absolutely wonderful pizza! Called in a large take out order for a wedding being held in Rutland that weekend. People from all over arriving that evening from other pizza centric locations (NYC, NJ, Boston, etc.) absolutely loved all of them. Pizza was ready on time, staff was friendly and accommodating. Great place for pizza in the Rutland area!

After a long day at Killington Resort, we decided to order the garlic knot pizza (pepperoni), meat lovers/pepperoni Sicilian pizza, garlic knots and cinnamon knots. Had it delivered our hotel. They delivered in about 45 mins. The whole order came to $48, which I thought was pretty pricey by CT standards but I figure since it's near the resorts- it's pretty standard here. The delivery person was missing one pizza and was VERY apologetic, which came across as very sincere. That's important and a lost art, nowadays!! He delivered the next pizza in reasonable time. I MUST say- the garlic knot pizza was AMAZING! I didn't really know what to expect but it was nice and thin, cooked well and full of cheese and roni. The crust was done to perfection. I loved this more than the Sicilian. The Sicilian was beautifully thick and perfectly well done & full of meats and cheeses as well- but I just personally prefer thinner styles. Both were amazing!! LOVED the cinnamon knots!! Garlic knots seem to be a favorite amongst Yelpers. Try them!! This restaurant will absolutely be on my list of places to visit next time I snowboard Killington. Great way to end the evening and THANK YOU to our delivery man for such great service.

I love Ramunto's Pizza. It's some of the best pizza I've ever had, without a doubt. The garlic knots are amazing, and I would definitely recommend trying out the garlic knot crust. They also have cinnamon knots, which are a sweet favorite. The staff is always friendly and it never disappoints.

On a road trip to Middlebury, my husband and I were desperate for food and were looking for one thing only-- pizza! Rutland was the closest town so we decided to stop and our Yelp search led us to Ramunto's. Since we had our seven month old daughter along for the ride, my husband actually went in to scope it out first to see if it was baby-friendly. He came out announcing he had already ordered us a large cheese Sicilian style, since it would only take 15 minutes to cook. Having a baby in tow means the faster the food is prepared, the better, so we went in and sat at a booth. I spotted their famous garlic knots through a glass case, and we ordered a half dozen of those as well. The pizza came out in record time and I was beyond impressed with its thickness! Most importantly, it tasted amazing-- the dough was flavorful and the sauce was great. The garlic knots were so, so good-- seasoned liberally with herbs and garlic of course! I was also incredibly pleased with the service! There were plenty of folks working and almost every single one took the time to smile and wave at my baby which was sweet. We also had to feed her baby food, and no one batted an eye at our whole operation in which we brought in our own food and baby seat. All in all, this was quite the gem, making me wish we had a similar type of place making delicious Sicilian style pizza closer to home!

So I'm about 2 years late in posting this but I wanted to pay homage to the garlic knots that i've been thinking about ever since. They're so deliciously soft and chewy. Luxurious and silky. Cheesy and salty. Pillowy and crusty. I want them now.

Just today I ordered one pizza to be delivered to my house. The woman on the phone asked for my address three times, and I clearly stated it for her. She repeated back the street name to me, which was correct. She said it would arrive in 35 minutes. 35 minutes later I saw the delivery driver turn around in my neighbor's driveway (right next to me, we share a driveway that splits off to our respective houses at the top of a hill). The driver then completely left my street. I waited for about 10 minutes, then called Ramunto's. They said the driver must have gotten lost and asked for my address again (this time it was a different person on the phone). Another 20 minutes later I called them to say my order still hadn't been delivered, and it was the original woman on the phone. She then asked me if it was "30 blank Avenue." I told her no, it was 40 blank avenue as I had said four times before. She kept telling me they had "verified" my address before and that I had said yes it was 30... which I hadn't, because she had never repeated the number back to me except that time, only the street name. And I had literally said my address four times before. She was quite rude and certainly did not seem to believe she could have been at fault at all in this situation. I then told her to just cancel my order. Terrible customer service.

Not much more to say than best pie/slice in town. Garlic knots are bangin. And 3 meat garlic knot pizza.... Get outta here.

Typical pizza place. Decent lunch special: $4.25 for 2 regular slices and a fountain drink. Decent seating area. Being from Long Island, I tend to be a pizza snob, so take what I say with a grain of salt when I say the pizza was just "ok". The slice sizes were generous, and the ingredients tasted decent.

THIS is real pizza. Far better than any other local place, including the overpriced, crowded and frankly, mediocre pizza joints up on Killington. You will not find a better slice of sicilian within 50 miles of this place. Garlic knot pizza was my personal favorite. The place can get busy on weekends, and every once in a while this impacts the quality of the pizza. Maybe slightly undercooked or a little sloppy. But most of the time they serve up a mean pie and a nice variety of slices.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pizza at Ramunto's. Living in the NYC area makes me somewhat of a pizza snob, and many places I visit outside of where I live often come up short when it comes to good pizza. I really liked the crust on the pizza and they baked it to the deep golden brown I like. Toppings were tasty and plentiful. I prefer a thinner crust, but since the pie was baked well-done that was not an issue. I was amazed when I walked in to pick up the pizza. The place was packed with people dining in or picking up their own pizza, always a good sign for a restaurant. The display case was filled with a great variety of pizza by the slice and some very tasty looking Sicilian-style pizza. I will have to sample the Sicilian on my next visit!

Ok for a slice. A tier down from a good NY slice but seems to have a good vibe. $4 for two slices and a drink. Not a chain

The pizza is yum and so are the garlic knots. Best pizza I ever had in Rutland.

I don't know what the fuss is all about this place. My BF and I went to VT - every time we go out of town we look up places on either Yelp or on Trip Advisor. I used Trip Advisor to search for pizza. We used Trip Advisor before for recommendations in Puerto Rico and it was right on the spot but this time not so much..The place was nothing special. It was a big room with a bunch of tables. We had to go to the counter and order pizza. They had a quite large variety of pizza (maybe 6-7 types of pizza by the slice). The service was prompt and good but the pizza was OK just nothing great...well, at least we didn't have to pay a lot - I think it was about $12 for 4 slices (definitely not a bad deal). Pros - fast service, not expensive Cons- overrated I give it a 3 stars for the 'pros' and overall, I guess it's not a bad place if you are in a rush - maybe my expectations were just too high expecting a real 5 stars place ..

Ramunto's, quite honestly, has the best pizza I have ever had outside of the NYC area. The speciality pizzas are absolutely incredible. The garlic knot and buffalo chicken pizzas are personal favorites and deserve all the accolades in the world.
(5)Collin B.
A little off of the beaten path towards Killington Ski Resort but worth the 5 minute detour. It's not much to look at inside, booths and a TV on in the corner. The staff is very nice and eager to make recommendations. It's good pizza for NYC but the best pizza in Rutland, VT for sure! Definitely try one of the garlic knot pizzas.
(4)Chris C.
One of my new coworkers took me here for lunch today. It is awesome! Pizza by the slice in about 10 different varieties when you go for lunch. Apparently they have regular crust as well as garlic knot crust which is awesome. I had a sausage with parmesan cheese which was very good and it was only $2.50 for a slice. The seating can be tough during peak lunch time because it clearly draws a crowd.
(4)Meghan F.
Don't know if I need to add anything except that this place really has the hands-down best pizza in the area- and can definitely compete with most pizza places in bigger cities. Have only eaten in a few times, but there's a nice big table in the back for groups- I used to come here with friends in high school before going to a movie.
(5)Chris D.
To echo many of the other comments here: this is the hands-down best pizza in the Rutland area, and that's not as easy to accomplish as you might think, given the surprisingly large number of decent to very good to excellent pizza houses in this particular large town / small "city". I've never had anything less than a very good whole pizza, calzone (heavenly, thanks) or off-the-shelf pizza slice at Ramunto's, and the overall quality almost always falls solidly within the "man, this is GOOD -- when can we get THIS again?" level. The specialty pizzas are excellent (personal favorite? chicken ranch); the garlic knot pizza might have 87,000 calories but after one bite you won't care; and the Sicilian pizza is truly a standout. And did I mention the calzones? The variety of slices these folks usually have available for purchase is almost New York-esqe in both breadth and quality. It's a good way to sample what they have available. You won't be disappointed. Overall, this is pizza that can stand its own against the best New York, Philly, or New Haven can offer, and that's really saying something.

We did the carry out for a Garlic Knot pizza with sausage and pineapple. It was very close to the perfect pizza. Cheesy and garlicy with just enough sauce. It was even better the next morning for breakfast too. Highly recommend this!
(4)Amanda D.
I love the pizza from here. The garlic knots are the best I've ever had even having lived in New York City for several years. They will even make the pizza with a garlic knots crusts. Ramuntos is one of the reasons I look forward to business trips to Rutland.
(5)Ian P.
Some of the best pizza in Rutland, if not the best. I go back and forth between here and one or two other places. I go here probably once a month and I have never been disappointed. Awesome slices, delicious garlic knots, great service, reasonable prices. What's not to love?
(4)Josh S.
This is the best pizza place in Rutland. Thin crust, cheesy gooey, NY style pizza that no other place in the area can seem to do right. Great selection of slices, good sauces, I'm coming back everytime I want pizza.
(5)Fred W.
Probably the best Pizza in Rutalnd, and most like NY pizza in this region. Simple dining area, reasonable prices. If you want take out, they have weekly specials, 2 for 1 on pies. Great for a quick lunch or take home pie.
(4)Peter L.
Excellent pizza by the pie or by the slice. They offer usually at least 6 specialty pizza's by the slice plus cheese or pepperoni. Two slices of a preimum pizza plus a fountain soda runs $6.60. A must go if you are a pizza fan!
