Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

This is my lunch break spot!!! Great food friendly staff. The only think I can honesty say I dislike is the prices. Very over priced however worth it at least once a week. The have tvs so watching sports center is a plus. Highly recommended if your not on a budget. My favorite is the chicken Pesto! (It's a must try)

Amazing pizza!!! It's also a great place to dine-in.

I am typically a pepperoni pizza kinda guy, but this is a gourmet pizza place, so we ordered the Ragin' Rooster. It was AMAZING!! I highly recommend this pizza, but I am sure that many others are just as good. We also had the twisted bread. It was super good as well! It is kinda like bread that was twisted around two kinds of cheeses, then baked and served with a sauce of your choice. Be sure to grab an order of them. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and knew how to talk to newbies (many places don't), and offered us drinks while we checked out the menu. There wasn't many seats in the restaurant, but plenty when we got there (about 710PMish). If there isn't enough seating, this pizza is worth ordering as take out. They didn't have their own parking lot (but how many places do in this area). There is paid parking on the street, but if you get there after 6PM, it is free (even if you have to pay the $2 parking, it is WELL worth it).

I give Extreme 2.5 stars. We've ordered from Extreme Pizza twice now. It is a little more expensive than other fast food options but we felt like it was worth it for the higher quality ingredients. The first Time was great, we ordered for pick up and liked our pizzas a lot. We got the pai'a (Hawaiian) and the kickin chicken pizzas (buffalo chicken). They were the individual size so pretty small, but what we expected. 4 stars for this visit. The next time we tried to order, I ordered for delivery online. It said 45-60 min for delivery so I was prepared. But when it hit almost an hour and a half, I got pretty unhappy because we had to go to a wedding. I called and cancelled the order and they said the driver was out. I insisted we had to leave and they apologized but said I had to contact Eat24 since I had ordered through yelp. One experience was good, one was bad. The manager told the employee to tell me they were sorry, sadly an hour and a half for pizza delivery is not what I hope for. We won't be back anytime soon.

Came here twice and tried the Peace in the Middle East and the Pandora's Box. Both featured fresh tasting ingredients although the resulting taste of the combination of ingredients in both pizzas was not exceptional. The hummus base of the Peace in the Middle East dominated the flavour, killing the taste of the tomatoes and even deadening the pickled pepperoncini With the Pandora's Box, go with the regular recipe and forgo the tomato sauce because it becomes overtart with the sundried tomatoes and artichokes. Despite the website saying Extreme had vegan offerings with daiya cheese, I did not see this location offer this.
(3)Josh S.
Fantastic pizza bar, great for friends and family. Has gluten free and healthy options. The people that work here are really friendly and helpful and generous when it comes to toppings. Not only is the atmosphere good, but the taste of the pizza and wings is unparrelled too. Always fresh and made to order.

Extreme is extremely good. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner. He was the one who took my order and my friend's order for our lunch date. She ordered a chicken Caesar salad where I got one of their sandwiches. The owner told us how he gets all of his ingredients VERY local, and how they offer gluten free pizza. The gluten free pizza costs a few dollars more due to the extra product they have to put into the pizza, but all is well worth it. I came to learn this when I tried my friend's pizza that she bought to-go. She bought it right before we left for her to take home to give it a try for the simple fact it was gluten free. I have to admit, that I didn't taste much of a difference from the traditional dough I am used to having on a pizza. All in all, this is a solid place. There is some seating available, but your better bet is to get it to-go if you live in the area.

I was so happy with this pizza! The staff was super pleasant and thoughtful. We sat at the bar for a drink while our pizza was being made, and it took such a short time that we ended up eating right at the bar. The pizza was delicious. My only complaint is it is a little pricey. If you want good pizza in the Pentagon City area check this place out!
(4)Danielle W.
This pizza joint is tucked away behind Costco and a convenient block walk from the Pentagon City metro. While it could have a bit better signage for pedestrians on the immediate sidewalk (as could the Dunkin Donuts and drycleaners on the street too), it's definitely a place to hit. You have the option of choosing a slice or personal pie. There are so many wonderful options to choose from! Not your standard pepperoni here! The ingredients are colorful, fresh, crunchy, and delicious. You can even pair your choice with a number of craft brews - the perfect combo. Last time I had an Asian-inspired pie with cilantro, chicken, and a slight jalapeno kick. It was mouth-watering and filling. You can sit down to eat or grab it to go. I think they also deliver too. They also offer calzones, salads, and gluten free options. Great choice for lunch or easy dinner!

Extreme pizza will be my go-to pizza place from now on! Not only was the pizza amazingly delicious but they worked with me to help tweak things to fit my dietary/nutrition needs. I ended up with the White Out w/chicken added... a healthier - and amazingly delicious - pizza! They have so many different pizza creations, toppings and sizes available... There's seriously something for everyone (my friend - who has less restrictions than me - also loved his pizza). Additionally, the people who work there were super nice and fun to talk to. All in all, this place is a huge hit in my book (and this is coming from a pizza loving, junk food adoring, foodie who is trying to work towards fitness/weight loss goals).

TWO (three) WORDS: Pizza & Salad. Theres nothing quite like waking up and waiting for your hibernating hungover friend and going on Yelp to find the nearest food haven. I got da greek side salad which is probably the most substantial side salad I have ever seen and got the railroad grade slice. SO WURF. The pizza is made fresh so I did not feel as guilty as having fast food first thing in the morning. Service was quite pleasant and I will definitely come here again and get an entree salad if my friend decides to hibernate again.
(5)Sonya M.
So many options, aside from the typical - all delicious. If you want meaty, cheesy, eclectic, vegan - there's something for you!
(5)Gigi B.
Really friendly staff in a new upcoming neighborhood pizza joint. Had "drag it thru the garden" and " Everest" pizzas, along with a Caesar Salad and buffalo chicken wings. Salad was crisp & fresh, buffalo wings were very flavorful, the Everest meat pizza sausage was outstanding and the veggie pizza ingredients were fresh. The owner made a point if visiting each table and inquiring about what we thought of the food and if there was anything we needed, he made our dining experience warm and personal. Great local craft beer selection, hand pick by the owner. Left with full tummies and a smile.
(5)Myszka T.
The pizza was absolutely delicious. I particularly like the variety that is offered compared to other fast food pizza places. I will definitely be coming back.
(5)Nadia S.
This place is great. I usually just grab pizza from Costco (directly across the street) but when I saw this place I figured why not. This is kind of upscale and gourmet (compared to Costco lol) but the taste is awesome. I had a cheese pizza and asked for arugula on the side..... Not the usual pizza order but fresh arugula is so good!...... Anyways, great place. The employees are very friendly. I will definitely come here next time and try some other stuff from the menu.
(5)Carla I.
Extreme Pizza is extremely delicious. We ordered delivery to our hotel, and the food arrived at the time quoted and was hot when it arrived! You will not be diasappointed with their pies!
(5)Beau F.
Ordered takeout from Extreme Pizza on our walk back from the Pentagon City Fashion Center. Our order was ready to go by the time we arrived (2 pizzas-quick) and they included plates, cheese, and red pepper without even asking. The price was pretty good for non-chain pizza, too. As for the pizza itself? It was great! The crust is thin and a bit crispy, and was uniform in thickness throughout the pie. The ingredients were fresh and the sauce was great - not too sweet but just right. The staff was friendly and thoughtful too. Highly recommended!
(5)Alex F.
Living in the neighborhood I really want to like this place. It is above average pizza (compared to the big chains), but I have no idea what is driving all the five-star reviews. It is simply not anywhere near that category. They get good marks for some interesting toppings, but some demerits for the conveyor belt crust. Because pizza can be a personal thing, I will mention I am typically a fan of Neapolitan style. In this immediate area I would rather choose CPK over Extreme, We the Pizza (excellent toppings, but too much dough), and Naked (bland & sauce too sweet). Nearby, Taza blows them all away and just a little further, Puatella is my favorite. Both of the latter have traditional Italian pizza ovens and use outstanding ingredients.
(3)Michael C.
It's a minor detail, but the roasted red peppers I got on my pizza were really perfect. Somehow they still had a little bit of crunch to them instead of being mushy and flavorless. Like I said... it's a small detail, but be honest and think of when you ever actually really noticed the red peppers you got on a pizza. Point is, the ingredients are top notch, and so are the results.
(5)Jennifer H.
Popped in when we wanted to avoid rush-hour traffic after an unexpected trip to the Pentagon. Parking was super easy directly across the street in a paid lot (Costco). It's not very big inside so don't take a huge group; there are about five or six 4-tops, a few 2-tops, and bar seating. There are a ton of delicious options to choose from--I finally narrowed it down to the Kickin' Chicken and it did not disappoint! The pizza came out fairly quickly and the staff was nice. We will definitely come here again!
(5)M H.
Worth the trip! Felt like home. During our week trip to DC, went back to EP twice, and loved it each time. Very willing to accommodate special requests, good value for the price, and love the staff. I'm picky when it comes to the bottom of the crust... and they nailed it. Crispy, a bit crunchy, but light on inside of thin crust - perfect. And toppings were fresh, cheese was high quality, and atmosphere was great. Be careful where you sit.... sun will get you in the eyes if you're facing the sidewalk in late afternoon. Otherwise, nice atmosphere. Good music. Love it! The kids want to return to DC just so they can eat at Extreme!
(4)Ryan A.
Had the raging rooster and it was great ! However their beer selection on tap just got swapped out and is not very impressive. Good service great pizza!
(4)Michelle V.
First time here and I am pretty satisfied! Quick, friendly service and the prices were inexpensive. Plus, they have a good craft beer selection. I got the personal pizza with wheat crust. It was delicious and just the right size. I didn't give this place 5 stars due to the fact that my boyfriend's meat calzone came with barely any meat and was mostly bare with a little cheese inside. He did say the sauce and bread were great though - just wished it had more meat.
(4)Jayda G.
There's definitely no shortage of pizza joints in the area if mediocre is your thing, IJS if not and you're like me adventurous and daring in life and my approach to he best places to eat then EXTREME is for you!!! My Faves: #1 Spice Route #2 Railroad Grade FYI Happy Hour. Daily 3-7pm featuring local beer and wine selections And another thing The managers rock
(5)Shadi K.
The staff here were beyond amazing. Super friendly and the place is so clean. It is obvious that they think of each other as family which makes the atmosphere absolutely great for everyone- both employees and customers. My wife and I are visiting from California and are staying at a hotel nearby. We thought that it would be good for us to try a place that was both highly rated on yelp and close in distance. We we're so taken back by the service we experienced. Anthony (the manager) and Wreh helped us and we are SOOOO glad they did!!! If you are in town or even for a brief visit, this place definitely needs to be tried! Missy (in the kitchen) also came up to say hi- she was so awesome and her energy level is more than appreciated!! We LOVED this place!!!! To summarize: Phenomenal customer service, super clean atmosphere, and superb quality taste and presentation! If only California weren't so far!
(5)Owen R.
Staff was exceptional. Prices average. Both the pizza and salad were repeat worthy.
(4)Adiba C.
OMG the new "Spice Route" pizza is a must try! So yummy my boyfriend and I devoured the entire thing in no time! Delivery time was good (price was a but steeper than usual but definitely worth it). It's safe to say this will become one of our staples :)
(5)Joel F.
This is my 3rd visit. 1st 2 the owner was on deck, cool guy, and knows his craft beers. The food was awesome, and the beer selection was outstanding. The 3rd time, owner was not around, and the service was just as good, friendly, reasonably fast. And of course the food was again top notch. I think I will keep coming back.
(5)John T.
Coming from Chicago we have high standards for good pizza and this place delivered. We started with the twisted stix which were delicious. We then had a basic cheese and their pork shredded pizza. The crust, sauce, and cheese on the cheese was fantastic and the pork Asian pix had a great bite. To top it all of, the service from Mike and the rest of the team was fantastic.
(5)Danielle S.
Updated review: We now enjoy online ordering and the service seems to have improved a bit. We occasionally have something wrong with the order (incorrect ingredients, something slightly but not dangerously undercooked, etc.) but the owner has been very proactive to correcting these issues and have been very receptive to our feedback.
(4)Travis J.
In town visiting from Iowa and this place was just a block from our hotel so we figured we'd give it a shot. Pizza and cheese twists were both delicious. What made this place great was the excellent service, especially MJ. It's not often the cashier asks for your name and then shakes your hand and introduces himself to u. Then I witnessed MJ help and elderly handicapped gentlemen outside to his motorized wheel chair. So the food was good but the service is what put this place over the top and made it a 5 star experience.
(5)Gary D.
Food was very fresh and good. It's a cool small place. I had the Wednesday Calzone, only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because there's wasn't much meat on mine, I counted 1 or 2 pepperoni slices on it, but the bread was amazing.
(4)Elaine G.
Excellent customer service and pizza. We are visiting from NYC and we will definitely go there again before we go back.
(5)David H.
I happened to notice this place while I was walking to Costco and figured I'd give it a try. They have lots of different pizza options, really friendly service, and best of all about 6-8 different craft beers on tap. The place isn't huge but you can definitely eat inside (they have a small bar area and some tables) and enjoy a brew with your pizza. We had the drag it through the garden pizza which is basically every vegetable you can think of, including broccoli and artichokes, which my wife likes and I hate. They did a perfect job of placing those loathsome veggies on her half of the pizza and I was able to enjoy mine. Pizza is tasty and non-greasy, a definite cut above you big three chains. I'll be back here for dinner or to grab a beer.
(4)Tank M.
not bad , I have had much better chicken wing sauce was bland prob will not be back
(3)Drew T.
The buffalo wingin' pizza is my favorite! All around good place and the price is not so bad.
(5)Kalun L.
I judge restaurants based on the food, price, and service. If one factor is lacking, the others can compensate. In this instance, all three factors were lacking. All places can get into the weeds, especially a pizza joint, but my first experience with Extreme will probably be the last (never say never because I live right upstairs from the place, and the convenience might just win out). The pizza is just okay. It has some interesting topping choices (including candied walnuts), but it's made in a conveyor built oven (oh, brave new world) and the crust doesn't have the exterior crispness a good pizza needs. The cheese also wasn't very melty (you know, when you pick up a slice and strings of cheese pull from the pie), but that might have been because it sat for about 15 minutes before they gave it to me. I ordered a medium with four toppings which came close to the $20 mark. The Buffalo chicken wings weren't spicy or vinegary, and the breading was both burnt and soggy. Like the pizza, the wings are cooked in the conveyor oven. The price was reasonable for an order of six. The side Caeser salad was good and was reasonably priced (needed anchovies though). Service is confused and curt when they're busy. If my pizza is done but you need me to wait another 15 minutes for the chicken wings, please tell me instead of shouting my order number and walking away, leaving me to sit around for 10 minutes before I ask about it. And a simple "sorry for the wait" would have been appreciated. Especially since the bill nearly hit $30 for pizza takeout.
(2)William M.
Went a few months back while I was in town, it's simple and to the point. Pizza, nearly any way you want it, because I'm sure some pizza is too extreme for even them. I also loved the fact that the atmosphere was super laid back and they even had a gluten-free pizza for those on the healthier side of the food track. Really enjoyed my experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for some good pizza while in D.C.
(4)Mary M.
Possibly the worst pizza I've ever had. I had a pepperoni pizza on the gluten free crust. There was little to no marina sauce, the pepperoni was on the crust, not on top of the cheese, therefore it was uncooked. I'll not be trying this pizza again...
(1)Lia M.
Extreme Pizza is better than many of the area pizza delivery places, but not the best. The cheese-to-sauce ratio is good, but the sauce is slightly sweet and I don't like it. Crust tends to be done enough, though. Buffalo wings were cooked through, but way way too salty. Delivery has always been timely, but I don't see myself ordering from here again.
(2)Tamara Y. W.
I ordered the gluten free pizza. Tasty..... service was excellent! I got the order to go, but was checked on often (I guess I looked a little hungry/hopeless)....LOL! I was diagnosed with the wheat allergy and early May and I must admit, this is my very first time having a gluten free pizza crust. I knew going in that the texture would be totally different. I must say though..... the pizza was quite tasty and I can say I will be back. Good service, friendly folks and the food was good. Found street parking (I guess the Costco crazies are on vacation. ....me being one of them).

With the excuse of meeting up with a friend, I finally had a chance to try out X-Treme Pizza, which is conveniently 2 blocks away from my apartment. As a preface to this review, I normally don't give this low of a star rating, but the service we received, the lack of problem resolution, and the pizza we received left me as an unhappy camper. I arrived at 7:45pm to the pizzeria, which was only about 1/4 full at the time, and placed an order almost immediately. After extensive conversation with my friend, I looked at the clock and realized it was 8:30pm already and we still had not received our pizza. While waiting to get ahold of the employees behind the counter, I overheard them explaining to another customer that they were having a problem with their machine and tickets weren't getting printed out. They then offered them complimentary dessert as an apology for the wait. Expecting something similar, I got the attention of one of their staff members, who tried looking up my order and realized the same thing had happened. They apologized for the situation and said that they would expedite the order, but that was it. I was a little befuddled because the couple literally before me received some sort of compensation for the delay, whereas my friend and I literally just got some meaningless words. An hour later, we finally received our pizza, a Paia Pie, your typical pizza topped with pineapple, bacon and mandarin oranges. The crust itself was thin, but not crispy, which kind of defeats the purpose of it being thin. However, because it was so thin and heavily weighed down with toppings, it resulted in a pretty sloppy bite, with the sauce and toppings sliding off the pizza as gravity caused each slice to droop down as you held it in your hands. The sauce itself was mediocre, nothing life changing. As a New Yorker myself, I know I can be a hard-ass when it comes to pizza, but with sub-par service and food, as well as an inflated price point for the product received, I sadly have to say that I will not be coming back.
(2)Niamh B.
Extreme pizza is fantastic! We have ordered from this place 5+ times and each time the pizza is hot, cheesy, full of toppings and perfectly crispy. The menu offers a range of unique pizzas. My personal favorite is the Ragin Rooster. High quality ingredients and speedy service makes each visit enjoyable. Overall - big fan!
(5)Elle R.
The pizza here is great, and they provide excellent customer service. The pizza base is a nice thin crust, and from there you can customize away. The tomato sauce is a little sweet for my liking, but you can work around it be adding toppings. The customer service is also great. We had an issue with our order due to a problem with Grubhub's ordering system. When we called to let them know, they immediately sent a new pizza (which was a size larger than the one we ordered) and didn't charge us for the pizza order that was incorrect. I'd definitely recommend them for their pizza but there customer service puts Extreme Pizza over the top.
(4)Abu B.
Crazy awesome pizza. Every time I go yo Arlington I go here. Super beer selection on tap. The folks who work here are passionate about their pizza and their service.
(5)Jennifer H.
Let's be honest-- there isn't much to eat in this area. Maybe this helps to explain the reviews this place gets. We ordered the Boar'der recently and it was just overloaded with cheese. I have nothing against cheese, but if i want to eat just cheese I could go next door to Costco and get it by the ton. I've gotten 1-topping mushroom pizza in the past and it was good, so I'm not against eating here again. I will say that they have this sweet beer deal where you can mix and match a cold six pack. I imagine your friends would like that surprise when you pick up your pizza ;)
(3)Elizabeth H.
I went to Extreme Pizza on 7/5/14 to redeem a voucher. To be honest I was going to skip it all together because the promotional amount of the voucher had expired. However I spoke to a friend who lives in the area and she highly recommended it. The pizza was delicious and the ingredients appeared to be fresh. Their pizza tastes somewhere in between a place like Pizza Boli's and Z Pizza (but it is a lot cheaper in terms of what you get than Z Pizza). I loved the fact that kitchen is open and you can see the pizza being made. I don't know why but I trust a kitchen I can see more than one that is enclosed. The service was excellent. The 1 women who was working at the counter stop eating in between her break to make sure I (and any customer that came in) was taken care of. It has a good sized dining in area considering their kitchen space. My only complaints (and their minor) is the pizza is heavy (probably closer to a deep dish style) and as a result you can't gorge yourself on it (if that is what your craving). It is slightly more expensive than a place like Pizza Boli's. However to be fair to Extreme Pizza I think their ingredients are a lot fresher. It can be difficult to find parking near Extreme Pizza. I had to circle a couple of times before I found parking. I am sure a number of people who frequent the business live in the nearby apartments (and walk to Extreme Pizza). If I lived closer I would frequent this business more often. It is a nice option to the Pentagon City food court.
(3)Diana S.
Extreme Pizza offers a pizza pie like no other in the area. We ended up picking up a couple from here because we weren't in the mood for the chain pizza delivery places and weren't motivated to go to a sit-down pizza joint. Extreme is, funny enough, the perfect balance of the those two. Extreme gives you so many options...and I want to try all of them. Five sizes of pizzas--anywhere from by-the-slice to individual to huge AND you can choose regular, wheat or gluten-free crusts. The regular crust is well done and chewy. You can create your own classic pizza or get fancy with their Signature Pizzas. Carnivore style for your real friends and veggin' out style for the vegetarians of your group...just kidding ;) Why did we try? Mont Blanc: Alfredo sauce, crispy bacon, green onions, tomatoes, parmesan and mozzarella AND Aveiro: Portuguese linguica, bacon, pepperoncini, roasted red peppers, tomato sauce, mozzarella, and cilantro I prefer the Mont Blanc because the green onions and tomatoes gave it a fresh kick and the bacon and cheesiness was a great combo. I would add garlic to this one next time for a more savory flavor. The Aveiro was delicious and had quality toppings and lots of them. I couldn't see myself eating more than one slice of the Aveiro because it was very meaty and felt heavier in my stomach than the Mont Blanc...they do not skimp on that linguica (read: delicious smoked sausage that slightly spicy and garlicky). I think I'll be coming back here to dine in so I can have this pizza right outta the oven!
(4)Cynthia L.
Extreme Pizza is located across the street from Costco and just down the street from Pentagon City Mall. Being averse to mall food, decided to check this place out after an afternoon of shopping. They deliver or you can dine in their cozy environment. There's a wide selection of specialty pizzas and you can pretty much customize your pie from the dough that's used (wheat/white) to the toppings and sauces. I had a medium pizza half of which was Pandora's Box and the other half which was the Everest (pictured). Sauce was pretty good and slightly sweet and there was a decent amount of cheese/meats/vegis. All of the ingredients seemed fresh, which is a definite plus. Didn't really feel for the artichoke hearts on the Pandora's side as it was a bit too tangy for my liking. Other reviewers have mentioned that it's neither New York nor Chicago style, but the thickness and consistency leans more towards NY. The medium feeds two just fine (as was in our case), but if you like to eat, I'd recommend getting the large or bigger. I'm not crazy* for their pizza but overall verdict is pretty good. And if anything, you can come here for their Orange Crush fountain soda offering and to dog watch out the window on a nice day.
(4)Curtis H.
A great Pizza place. This review is based on takeout as I did not eat there. However, while I was waiting for my pizza they offered me a beverage, which was nice. The pizza itself was tasty. I had the railroad grade, which is a selection of meat as well as red onion and mozzarella cheese. The crust was perfect, not too thin or thick. And the sign of any good pizza, it was just as good the next day when I reheated the left overs.
(4)Kelly E.
Yummy pizza, good for eating in or delivery close by. Love the variety of toppings, though I think I made the wrong choice. I got the chicken and artichoke hearts, both of which kind of overwhelmed the pizza. Next time I'll go a little easier on the toppings, especially since they're pretty pricey. But the real stand out is the friendly staff. The woman behind the register was very accommodating, then my car died and the manager offered a jump before AAA arrived. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty! I will be back!
(4)Glenn W.
Visiting from out of town, and, so tired that we just wanted dinner delivered last night. Checked out Yelp and found this pizza delivery. Ordered a Railroad and Pepperoni pizza. It arrived at the hotel and was still hot enough that it could burn your mouth. The pizzas were excellent with perfect crusts. I suppose I have had better pizza, but, I don't know where that would have been.
(5)Scott G.
COCKROACH crawled in my shoe sitting in the corner booth!!!!!!!! Not a small one either. I really didn't want to write this review but I feel I owe it to my fellow yelpers. After the giant cockroach crawled into my shoe, I ran outside to slam my shoe on the side walk to get it out. Someone who worked there happened to walk out the front door at the same time as I slapped the giant roach out of my shoe and told me that "I shouldn't bring bugs into his restaurant". Talk about insulting. Go to Pupatella if you want good Pizza in Arlington. This happened about 1 month ago.
(1)Azar A.
YUMYUMYUM!! I liked this place ever since I first set foot in it. Cozy, friendly, smells GREAT inside (being a nice Italian kid, these aromas are like fine perfume to me) and the staff is friendly. The owner is friendly, takes great pride in his place and it shows. I usually go in and just have a slice but this Saturday I ordered the 8" Paia Pie and it was to Daia For!!! Since the menu is so large I plan on coming back again. And again. It's close enough to the Pentagon City Metro stop, and #10 bus route, and possibly the #23 (no too sure about the #23) and on street parking is metered but I never have any trouble finding a space.

We've been living in Arlington for less than a week and have ordered from Extreme Pizza twice! Both orders were delivery and showed up at our doorstep before the estimated delivery time!! Their pizza is amazing and salads are delicious! Yum

Ordered the Railroad for delivery. Arrived right on time and tasted great. Delivery man was really nice too.

Our favorite is Poultry Geist!! Nowadays, when we want to eat pizza, our first address is really here :))

Good pizza, good atmosphere, good selection of beer. The staff was really good. Lots of selections for pizza too. Recommend hitting it if you are in the Crystal City area.

LOVE this place. The pizza is freaking amazing. I go at least once a week and order a new pizza each time and so far have not been disappointed! I can't even pick a favorite because they have all been awesome. They also have a pretty good beer selection and will let you sample as many as you like if you're not sure what to order.

I love the old-fashioned pizza parlor feel of this place! I love their combo deal (a large slice plus a side salad) for under $10. I'm not as shocked by the prices as some of the reviewers before me, but as a New Yorker I'm always happy to find decent pizza outside of the 5 boroughs. Extreme Pizza is NOT New York-style or Chicago-style or any other style that I've had before. It's just good pizza.

This is our go to pizza place! Great pizza and a very unique selection. It can be a bit pricey but is usually worth it! Our go to pizza is the Paia Pie (it has canadian bacon, cheddar, mandarin oranges, mozzarella, pineapple, and tomato sauce). We always order it and pick it up and they are usually pretty quick. They also offer to add fresh basil on your pizza which is a really nice fresh touch. Sometimes we ask for them to cook the pizza for a little longer though because we like it a little more well done. Overall, great pizza place with a really large selection!

I stop by here every time I'm in the area or before I fly out of DCA. I know it is a pizza place, but the Spicy Thai boneless wings with the sesame sauce is AMAZING. I actually haven't had their pizza much (well, a slice of my wife's), but that slice was great. I usually order the meatball sub or a calzone: both excellent and I highly recommend them both. The best part of Extreme Pizza, though, is the craft beer on tap. Amazing and very unique selection for beer aficionados as well as casual beer drinkers, and I also took part of the 6 for $16 mix and match beer to go offer tonight.

I had a good experience here last night when I popped in to grab a pizza. And when ordering, I happened to have met the owner, Ernie, who seemed cool, as he was working the register. I waffled on what to order - between a veggie option & a carnivore style with meat, and while I wanted a meat option, I was also cool with a veggie option, so I used ingredients as my framework. Was there meat antibiotic-free? Grass fed, if applicable? Ernie surprised me by saying that he already had an email into Corporate asking about these issues, because they are important to him, as well as about local sourcing (I suggested Polyface Farms, because it was featured on Food Inc.: polyfacefarms.com with Michael Pollan). So then I asked about the vegetables, what about GMOs? Pesticides? Organic? Yes, I know we've been losing the Labeling fights recently, but I #VoteWithMyWallet (when possible). So I ordered the "Drag it through the Garden" - see delicious photo for details. Full Disclosure: I may be biased towards anything that aligns with my values and/or San Francisco when verified by the scientific method and data. Extreme Pizza tugs at my heart strings in that it reminds me of SF and my first apartment there in Cow Hollow, since I lived a block from the Extreme Pizza location on Union Street. While Extreme Pizza was not my *favorite* venue while living there in San Francisco (with *NUMEROUS* viable food options - too many to count), it was my go-to pizza place (I'm just not a huge pizza pick-up/delivery lover - I buy them at Whole Foods, usually - Amy's [Non-GMO verified] or the Whole Foods brand when I'm cheap). But when I do buy pizza at a restaurant, I will likely buy from here since the location is convenient, it reminds me of San Francisco, they seem dedicated towards supplier / sourcing approaches that are in alignment with my preferences, the friendly customer service, and they totally stuff the ingredients on the pizza - it's a good value. Also, based on this re: Papa John's, AS IF! Will not give them my money. So, there's that. I will not subsidize one individual's greed with my tax dollars. "In a brilliant article by Forbes' own Caleb Melby --by the way, I have never been prouder of one of my Forbes colleagues--Caleb breaks down the real costs to Papa John's, using hard, cold math to reveal a little truth." forbes.com/sites/rickung… If you'd like to look at Executive Pay of Papa John's, here's Morningstar: insiders.morningstar.com… So, in sum, if Extreme Pizza was founded in San Francisco, and played extreme videos at the location to which I grew accustomed on Union Street in Cow Hollow (e.g. surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding), values my customer preferences, and makes good pizzas for good value - while I don't currently know much about their Corporate structure, I'm pretty sure anything is better than Papa John's (the delivery car which I often see at my apartment building, but who will not be getting my business - ever).

What a great surprise!! Great pizza, you can tell that ingredients are fresh at the first bite! AVEIRO PIZZA is really good! Maybe too spicy for some people. But for me was just there.
(5)Brandon M.
This place is a hidden gem in an region of bars that garnish hype and crowds. The beer selection is tremendous, service is timely, and the food fare is tasty. Highly recommend checking this place out; it's more than just a "pizza parlor."

We recently ordered the medium-sized Kickin' Chicken from Extreme Pizza. That pizza came with chicken marinated in a spicy ginger peanut sauce, peanuts, green onions, Swiss, fontina, fresh cilantro and mozzarella. I was really impressed with the quality of the pizza, as well as the innovative toppings and combinations. You certainly have a wide selection of delicious specialty pizzas to choose from, and the toppings are fresh and unique! Keep in mind that delivery can take some time. It took us over 1.5 hours to get our food, so we were hungry and quite happy once our food arrived!

EXTREMELY Disappointing Pizza. I walked in to the shop and was the only customer in the place, I was not greeted or acknowledged by either of the two men behind the cash register/in the kitchen. One of the men was on the phone. Clearly they were busy--probably with pick ups and deliveries. Understandable. I sat down at the bar and proceeded to look over a menu. Their prices were a bit higher than what I would normally pay for pizza and wings (especially compared to their competitor Naked Pizza just a few blocks away) but it was a cold night and the location of Extreme Pizza was convenient. The location turned out to be the only convenient thing about this place. I finally made eye contact with one of the servers who came over to me and took my order. I chose a pizza from the menu and also ordered 10 wings. I requested a side of ranch and blue cheese dressing and confirmed with the man taking my order that I was able to get both dressings. He told me my order would be ready in about 15 minutes. 15 minutes later my pizza and wings were ready as promised however my ranch dressing was missing from my wing box. I was a tad frustrated because I had suspected the busy server might forget my extra side of dressing and had gone out of my way to clarify/remind him. I again got his attention and informed him of the mistake. He did not apologize and seemed too busy to do anything but run back into the fridge and grab a plastic cup of ranch and hand it to me. Okay. Not a big deal I guess. When I sat down to enjoy my food, I was met with a greasy, poor quality pizza. The cheese was comparable to dominos and considering I was not paying a dominos price, I was irked. The dough was excessively bread and heavy and filled me up fast. The pizza left me with an overall aftertaste of my college days when I was broke and hungover and ordered a cheapy pizza with friends. The wings were nothing special at all. I would not be surpassed if they were frozen and just heated up for me. Overall, food is mediocre to put it nicely. The place is wayyyy over priced. I would much rather go to Naked Pizza a couple blocks down to get quality ingredients, actual customer service and better value for my money. I actually read some of the reviews on yelp prior to coming here and disagree that this place is worth going out of your way for. Costco pizza is better in my opinion if you have a membership. Sorry Extreme Pizza.
(2)Trish S.
Our pizza was not good at all! The art of pizza is great crust with high quality topping and tangy sauce. It didn't deliver on any of the three. First the crust was thin and dense. Also, there was a peculiar taste that I could not identify and it wasn't good. Last, the toppings were extremely skimpy. All the national chains beat this place hands down and that isn't saying much!
(2)Stephanie O.
Can I give an extra 5 more stars too please? LOVE LOVE LOVE their pizza. My husband says that if they even made me love pizza then they really are good :) I am not a pizza lover - at all. But gave this place a chance and I am now addicted. Make sure you try their desert Pow Pows as well :D I love taking out my pizza from their store but last night we dined in watching the basketball game. Such a fun place - amazing staff, clean tables, family friendly environment but also perfect to come in with friends.. Can't write enough good words to describe my experiences and feeling for this place :D Made me love pizza at the age of 30!

Despite not being a fan of delivery, I decided to give it a try for Extreme Pizza since I was super happy with my first experience in their restaurant. The first time my sister and I visited the place we just ordered a slice of Screamin Tomato and it was delicious! Not overly greasy, with fresh basil on top, and you could taste the fresh garlic. Since it was my boyfriend's birthday I figured I would surprise him with this same amazing pizza and spring for a 16" Screamin Tomato with Pepperoni. It was a $26 pizza that I ordered well in advance to arrive in time and freshly made. When it arrived 15 minutes late, I tipped the guy, and opened the box. It was the saddest comparison to what I previously had in the restaurant. This pizza was not only folded over on top of itself and a gooey, greasy mess, but it was seemingly old from last night and reheated to the point of burning the thin, cardboard-like crust. When I told the delivery guy and showed him the pizza he just said "Oh shit" and set the pizza down on the ground outside to call his boss. When I asked to at least hold it on the counter instead of the dirty floor while he called, he walked off on the phone and never returned. I called the place and they said "oh yeah he mentioned that, he said you could either cancel the order or we can resend one..." Glad to know no one would tell me this, and just walk off. Since it was for my boyfriend's lunch break I opted to just cancel it and eat the gross pizza. Super greasy, day old, thin, sad pizza with burned basil and crust. Despite the refund, the hassle and disappointment alone don't make up for it. Needless to say, I wouldn't trust delivery again.

I just got my first order from here. First of all, when I called to order, the man on the phone was so nice, patient, and helpful. He didn't rush me through ordering at all which is really rare. I didn't catch his name, but kudos for his customer service skills. They delivered pretty fast and the gentleman who delivered the pizza was very pleasant. I don't love the Hanoi Fever pizza - the sauce on the pork is a bit cloying, maybe too sweet - but they definitely use fresh ingredients and I will be ordering again. The only con? Super expensive for delivery. My medium (12") pizza was about $20 with tax and delivery. Add a tip and it's pretty pricey, even for what you get.

I was there last month and can't praise this place highly enough. It was within walking distance from my hotel and right across from a Costco I was headed to, so I thought I'd give it a try. The pizza was more than reasonably priced, it was spectacular and so was the service. What was especially impressive is that after I ordered a full pizza and only ate half of it, I asked for a to-go container. They started to reach for a box and I sheepishly explained that like an idiot I just remembered that I had some Costco / Pentagon City mall shopping to do and asked if they had any other packaging alternatives so that I wouldn't have to carry a pizza box flat like a tray for hours. They jumped through a ton of hoops to help me wrap individual pieces in plates and place them in a plastic bag with handles, which made the next 3-4 hours of my life considerably easier. I can't remember the name of the girl who served me, all I recall is that she was taller than anyone else working there (about six feet, I'd say), but I really owe her one. She and her co-worker spent an amazing amount of time helping me wrap up the rest of my order considering that it didn't even come to twenty bucks total. As I was leaving, I thanked her and she asked me to tell my friends about the place. As none of my friends live anywhere near DC, I really couldn't be useful to her on that one, but I finally remembered to give the place a shoutout on Yelp. I'm only sorry it took me this long. I love this place, and as I travel to the DC area several times a year I can say for sure that I will go back every single time.

Enjoyable surprise when I stopped in on a whim. The pizza is not NY or Chicago and holds its own on quality of ingredients. Sauce had a good taste and the thin crust was baked just right. The real surprise was when I saw their beer selection. Absolutely fantastic and just the place that those who love real beer and are not satisfied with commercial watery beer. It's worth stopping by just to try the beer.
(4)Stephanie D.
We had the the "Wham bam thank you Mammoth" pizza it was amazing! The service on the phone was great too. Very polite.
(5)Amrit R.
Good menu, good pizza and good delivery service. Not so great attention to detail. I ordered a Yard Sale with high hopes but they either got my order wrong or forgot half of the toppings. Wasn't worth the money.
(3)Burns S.
Extreme Pizza is great pizza, perfect for families and kids. Laid back and comfortable
(5)Patricia H.
What a nice place, especially compared with the Extreme Pizza in Vienna, which has no real seating and erratic customer service. Service here was super friendly, the atmosphere was inviting and pleasant and the pizza delicious.
(5)Indi S.
Extremely good pizza, extremely nice people, and always an extremely good experience. Right next to Costco, Dunkin Donuts and Wells Fargo. Craft beer, 6 for $16 and you can take them to go! The screaming tomato pizza slice is yummy in my tummy. Can't forget to pick up their ooey goeey chocolate chip cookies. They can get really busy in the afternoons, but it's defintely worth the wait!
(5)Ginger V.
You won't hate yourself after enjoying one of these pizzas. No greasy gut bombs served here! Great combinations in their signature pizzas - I especially like the Kickin' Chicken - quality tasty ingredients topped off with fresh cilantro. I enjoyed a micro brew on tap while waiting for my to-go pizzas and had hilarious conversations with the guys working - there is a home-town vibe here that I did not expect.
(5)Micky D.
Super nice guy at the front desk but it wouldn't save the pizza. It wasn't bad pizza but just not something you pay sixteen bucks for a twelve incher. More In the genre of Lidos pizza or something conventional. Perhaps the kind you call for carry out or delivery.
(3)Steven D.
My review has two parts. I'm torn between the star ratings to give. The pizza: Exceptional. I've ordered about 4 different pizzas from here, each was absolutely spectacular. Loaded with toppings, great flavors. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. My favorite is the Aveiro. Delivery: I have had terrible experiences with delivery. 3 times that I specifically remember. The first time, they forgot part of the order. The driver went back and brought the rest in an acceptable time period. The second time, the order took about 30 minutes longer than quoted. The last time(and subsequently the last time I will get delivery from Xtreme) it took nearly 2.5 hours to get my order. A lady from the store called about an hour and 15 minutes in and said my order was about to head out of the store. Over an hour later it finally arrived...around 9:30 p.m. on a weeknight. While the delivery experience has been 1 star the times I have ordered, the food has been outstanding and from now on I will just be picking it up when I have a hankering for it.
(3)R P.
I live near this pizza place, which is dangerous. So addicting! I love it. Screamin' Tomato with lots of basil on top is the best. Great service -- I've walked in there after they've closed and they've still been happy and willing to heat up a slice for me.
(5)Theresa K.
Ordered a personal "indee" 8-inch style create your own pizza with toppings pepperoni, mushroom and garlic. (Photo added). Chewy on the inside, crispy on the outside - consistency was perfect. Ingredients were fresh and delicious. If you dine in, you order at the counter and then wait at the table and they will deliver your pizza to you on a plate. - Other perks - like the silverware, not just plastic - Would come again - yes. - What I would do to make it better - gets slightly watery so I had to line my plate with napkins to keep from it getting soggy. - Next time notes to self - try a signature flavor.
(4)Sarah A.
My husband and I have visited in person as well as ordered delivery. We have never been disappointed. The food always tastes amazing and the staff was really nice and even conversed with us while we waited for our food. We will be ordering there again.

I have mixed feelings about this place. This was my first time...I moved recently-ish to the area and am still looking for good pizza (I'm from NYC and have certain criteria). First, the actual pizza. When I try a new pizza place, I order a regular ol' cheese pizza and a pizza with complexity...in this case, their Whem Bam, Thank you Mammoth. ..a medium of each. Our pizzas look like they were from 2 different pizzerias. This was, I should mention, via delivery My cheese pizza was very corporate looking, with too much sauce (disclaimer..I tend to like a lighter touch with the sauce but don't make that determination til I've seen what they use), and the cheese not spread all the way to cover the sauce. The red sauce is slightly sweet with a hint of heat..nice flavor. They put mozzarella and CHEDDAR on their cheese pizzas...threw me...didn't hate it, but it threw me. The crust, although corporate looking had a nice flavor and a nice chew, but almost but not quite floppy in the center. My husband's mammoth completely different ...it had bubbles, the crust was doner (from bringing him extra slices, I didn't notice any floppiness), the whole pizza looked more independent (more on that in a second). The cheese (no cheddar!!!!!!) went all the way over the sauce and, visually, it looked like it had the amount of sauce I prefer. The toppings seemed to be somewhat haphazardly bestrewn but he says he is enjoying it. Both pizzas arrived nice and somewhere between quite warm and hot (but, I also live, literally, a block and a half away). One nice touch is that each pizza comes with small portion cups of red pepper flakes and Parmesan. I would give 4 stars for the pizzas (although next time, I might order the specialty pizza without all the toppings to get the pizza I wanted and was expecting from their pictures). Then, there was the experience...not 4 stars (which I don't know if it was standard or not). It is a crappy, rainy, Saturday night and the Saints were playing the Seahawks...basically a big pizza night. When I called, it was answered promptly, I was put on hold for a moment and a nice young man answered to take my order. First, it's not clear they're caller i.d. is up to par...he asked me if I was calling from an area code I have never heard of. But, after we got past that, he took my contact to save for future orders. took my order with a lot of repetition on my end because I could hear how crowded it was. He told me that the delivery would be within 30 minutes..I was kinda dubious about that. 55 minutes later, the pizza arrived, delivered by a nice, friendly (different) young man. Confusion happened when I went to pay with cash and he wanted me to sign a credit card receipt. This bothered me. I checked, it was a different amount than my bill so it really wasn't mine. But, if I had been paying via CC, I might have signed it with just a cursory examination as the amounts were similar. This is bad on so many levels...both for the business, potentially, the delivery guy, and the customers. We got it straightened out as I was paying cash this time. As the delivery guy started to leave, he gave me a shopping bag with 2 liters of Mountain Dew and a half dozen cookies as a gift from Ricky (the manager? not a clue). Haven't tried the cookies yet....they look good. As the menu on the website is generic across the chain (remember when I said more on that in a second, here it is...It's a chain started in California...had I noticed that originally, I wouldn't have ordered from them...most California pizza sucks eggs...but that would have done their pizza a disservice), there are no prices listed so I had no idea what it was going to cost me until I placed the order. Thirty bucks for 2 twelve-inch pizzas is too much. They did not send one of their menus with the delivery despite my specifically mention this was my first time ordering from them. So, 4 stars for food, 2 stars for experience. Thus 3 stars. I haven't decided what my future is going to be with Extreme Pizza. But, no more Saturday night orders for sure. Fortunately, I have found a couple of decent Chinese restaurants that deliver.
(3)Tyler B.
This place has really good pizza and good beer! This is place is awesome to go for a sports game or just a couple slices!
(5)Lindsey E.
This pizza is fresh, not greasy, and delicious. My boyfriend and I make it here about once a week and we always get the RailRoad Grade pizza and wings. A large is plenty for 2 people. They also have a small bar area that has some great beers on tap and in bottles. The staff is great and the food comes out fast!
(5)Jeffrey B.
Visiting DC from FL for spring break with my family. I had the Aveiro the first time. Absolutely awesome! Going to try the boar'der tonight. The staff is very friendly. It seats about 30 so not big enough for groups. I'm 48 and have eaten at a lot if pizza places. This place rates in top 3. My kids had a cheese pizza and said it was the best they've ever had. My wife has the spinach salad the first time but having pizza tonight with me. I highly recommend this place if you are near Crystal City.
(5)Daniel W.
Neat little place that packs a lot in a small area. Very good tasting pizza and a good selection of specialty beers. Friendly atentive employees. Nice and clean. A couple of manager/owners are really into what they are doing here and shows. This is a good choice for lunch dinner takeout or delivery. Picked up a 6 for $16 which is pretty steep but I liked the place and the people and wanted to give some support to the business. It's been a couple days and still sipping on a nice variety of brews. Keep up the good job!
(4)Earl S.
Pizza was good, not great and not worth the $26 paid. For that kind of money, I have much higher expectations. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad it just wasn't worth the price
(3)John H.
This has been a great addition to my neighborhood between Crystal City and Pentagon city where I roam. Great for a quick meal or if I choose to linger and have craft beers in the evening with a more relaxed meal I can. The pizza menu offers the vegetarian option of "Drag it thru the Garden" or the various meaty pizzas like "The Yard Sale" when I'm really hungry, I love both. This is my new hybrid refuge hang out, it can a quick meal or a leisurely experience. The staff is friendly and efficient. In addition to beer, they have a nice wine selection and salads too!
(5)Allie T.
Convenient, great food, and friendly staff. Lots of different pizza and sub options - I've never tried one I was disappointed in! Also, a surprisingly great selection of beers.
(4)Matt F.
I've lived in DC since 2006. Best pizza in the area. Better then any "gourmet" pizza such as We the Pizza or Matchbox. And unlike most bars and restaurants around DC, it's a comfortable place to hang our with friends and have a couple beers. And speaking of beer, they have a regularly rotated, great selection.Staff is also some of the friendliest around.
(5)Brian G.
The Pizza was ok. I couldn't put my finger on what it was I did not like about the Pizza. It may have been the sauce; nothing to write home about. I did like their Chicken Parm Sub.
(3)Jazz'n I.
I stumbled upon them in hopes to find a good salad quick and I found just that and many other great items on their menu to include the chicken parmesan sub and friendly staff. The pizzas are very good and they are very generous with their pizza toppings. The staff is very friendly and Ernie the owner is very dedicated to the business and is a pleasure to work with. Because of such great service and pizza, they now cater all our pizza functions where I work in DC.
(5)Yash H.
If you're looking for delicious pizza made with a variety of fresh locally sourced ingredients and prepared in unique combinations then you've found it here at Extreme Pizza!! Add that to the fact that they deliver a variety of superb craft beers and it's a no-brainer. Try any combination of toppings or sample any of their expertly prepared signature pizzas and you will not be disappointed. They've got something for everyone. Vegetarians and vegans, and everyone else will be very happy with the selections. And they do whole wheat crust!! Be adventurous or go with the usual suspects...you can't go wrong. My wife and I went in the other day and were greeted by the owner who helped us select an excellent draft beer and a slice. They have a selection of readily available slices that they'll crisp up for your dining pleasure. And they keep 10 unique craft beers on tap. You won't find the usual small batch beers but a carefully selected bunch that change with the seasons. One of our favorite pizzas, the Hanoi Fever, is a delicious spicy melding of sweet and savory that will make you mad that you had to share. Or, when feeling like a vegetable, try the Drag it Through the Garden for you're daily dose of veggies. You won't have any problem finding the toppings, like you have to from some other joints, and everything is prepared in house not delivered pre-sliced in plastic bags. The sauces are made in house, the pizzas are beautifully constructed, the beers are cold and crisp, and the staff is friendly and then inviting. I guess what I'm saying is stop reading this review and get on the phone right now you won't be let down.
(5)Beth W.
Great place for some good pizza! I was really impressed by the beer selection and the friendly staff. I will definitely go back!
(4)Zackhary T.
I get it's "healthy" and "gluten-free" pizza, but how does that justify the price tag?!? I mean first off, who needs a "healthy" pizza? If you actually want to be on a healthy diet, pizza should always be off your list. The taste isn't great, but I do see why some people with like it so much. It tastes really fresh, and u can taste every topping on the pizza... except the cheese and bread itself. It's paper-thin tasteless pizza should never be prices at such a high point. You can alway go across the street to Costco and get a much much better deal, and a pizza that actually tastes like pizza. Bottom line if you want to be "healthy" and grab a fast food that's notoriously known for its high carbs, sugars, and fats that's bland tasting main base, labeled to be "healthy" to justify it's ridiculous price, and one that comes in different sizes than please do visit extreme pizza.
(2)Rob R.
Can't remember the name of the pizza I got, but it had pesto and tomatoes, feta, etc. Really tasty and a decent beer section to boot. The service was good - the guy who seemed to be running the show thanked me by name as I left, which was a nice, and rare, touch. Would definitely return.
(4)Yevhen N.
Garden sale pizza didn't have Italian sausage on it. Waiter walked away without even apologizing. Calzone sucked, honestly, the worst calzone I've ever had. NEVER AGAIN!
(1)Kelley C.
By far my favorite place for pizza or wings in the area. The buffalo wings and buffalo chicken pizza are excellent. The specialty pizzas are a little expensive for a pizza but they are very good. The decorations inside are cool and they have TVs with the game on for while you wait or eat.
(5)Ryan G.
Love this place! Great assortment of flavors including beer and wine!!! Who couldn't love that. Mike(I assume a/the manager) once under charged us, apologized extensively for messing up the charge, and didn't require us to pay the rest of the amount. Insert cheers theme song !!!
(5)Gretchen S.
Great pizza for veggies & meat eaters alike. And then have gluten free pizza! Dressings are made in house and toppings are fresh.
(5)Christine R.
Excellent pizza, friendly delivery. Staying at a hotel for a conference, I wanted to avoid the outrageous hotel restaurant prices. I found this place, and ordered a pizza. Less than an hour later, it arrived and was still warm! Tasty and perfect for my dinner.
(5)Aras W.
I was so happy to see a pizza spot open up in my neighborhood. I placed an order for pick up and devoured the pizza when I got home. The owner was very friendly and it was also very appareant that he wanted to make a good first impression (I told him it was my first time there). I ordered the Yard Sale pizza but made a few topping substitutions and he went back to the kitchen staff to make sure the subs were made. He came back and apologized for making me wait and offered me a soda on the house. The pizza itself was delicious! The ingredients were very fresh and the pizza wasn't drenched in butter like the usual chains. I have to give this place 5 stars for exceptional service and great food! I can't wait for my next visit.
(5)Chip H.
Nothing fancy here... and the food is not great. But for casual dining at a very reasonable price it is hard to beat in the DC area. Wonderful and inexpensive craft beers on tap. Good sized portions of good quality pizza. I stay frequently at the nearby Americana motel and this is the place to get a meal for a single traveler... friendly staff, good meal in a casual setting and inexpensive.
(4)Mary C.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! ever since I started working next door they have been my #1 lunch spot! the atmosphere is amazing everyone is soooo nice, and the food OMG delish! I recommend to all my customers to go and eat there. :)
(5)Rico S.
I went to this place after it opened and was sorry I did! It took a while to get my pizza and when I arrived home and ate, it was nasty!!! It was the only store that did not respond when I sent in complaint online. I think I will send in another one after more than a year because I wanted a refund! If people are giving them 4 plus stars, either they have new cooks or people don't get out much! I would have done better buying the 2 pack pizza at CVS or grocery store. The place should be closed down for imitating a real pizza place!!!
(1)S G.
First, I don't like that the website does not show prices. We ordered delivery and the bill was $60 for 2 pizzas, some wings and dessert! I was shocked at the price. Also, the boneless wings appeared to be store bought chicken nugget types with some sauce put on. The pizza was ok, but much thinner than I thought I would get for the price and barely any pork on our Hanoi Fever pizza. Also, the pow wows (dessert) said they had hazelnut on them, but I did not taste much at all. Two good things I could say are they do use fresh and good quality ingredients on the pizzas and there was plenty of chicken on the ragin rooster we ordered.
(2)Alibaba V.
as soon as pizza cools down it taste like greasy brick! i ordered large cheese (mozzarella only) and "no way" this pizza is worthy $25!

I absolutely hate having to leave such an awful (it takes a lot for me to do this) review, but this is really needed. I don't have an issue with the service, as we had to do pick up last Monday when we ordered because we don't live in the area. My mother frequents this place and raves about it so I figured I had to try it. My husband and I eat as gluten free as possible for health reason and Extreme Pizza raves about their gluten free pizza, so he and I ordered one. This was not only one of the worst gluten free pizzas I've ever tasted, but it was by far the most expensive. At around $20 for a gluten free pizza, you would expect it to taste NOT like cardboard, but this tasted worse than cardboard. The only place with a worse gluten free pizza than here is Uno's. Ledo's Pizza, Coal Fire, even Domino's makes a good gluten free pizza. Even frozen gluten free pizzas taste so much better, such as Joe Corbi's, Udi's and Freshcetta. I sent them an e-mail last Monday night expressing this and they did not even acknowledge it, which means they just really don't care. The fact that other company's make a much less expensive and way better gluten free pizza means that Extreme Pizza should really look into what the other places do. I wasn't going to leave a review, but the fact they do not even acknowledge e-mails sent in means that people need to know.

Visited on 1/25/14 While staying at one of the Pentagon City hotels I found one of their menus under my door. Only wanting a quick dinner, something to bring back to my hotel, I decided to give it a try. I got a personal sized (8") cheese pizza and a side Greek salad. Salad was good, but a bit pricey for a side salad. The pizza left much to be desired. The crust was terrible, the sauce was decent, but the cheese was not very good at all. Next time in this area I will skip this restaurant.

Since I read one review that stated that anyone who doesn't like this place is "an old crotchety fool"....I'll start by saying that I'm not...and there are parts of this review that I would have been a little bit more forgiving about had they handled things a little bit differently. The pizza itself is no different than any other chain pizza out there. I'm happy for the people who got good service and friendly people....I did not. I've actually been looking for a new pizza place (and happen to live next door to this one) as my favorite place moved to Shirlington and they no longer deliver directly to Pentagon City. I decided to use the free pizza Direct Mail piece this evening (if you're going to do marketing....you need to be ready to handle it). I called in an order for pick up and was told that it was going to take 1/2 an hour. They took my phone number "in case they needed to call me for any reason". I walked over to pick the pizza up in 1/2 an hour. I got there and was told that they hadn't started to make my pizza yet. "Sorry....we got busy". It was not a true apology and, a bad excuse. As the restaurant was almost empty (I believe there were 2 people eating in the restaurant) I have to assume that they were "busy" due to delivery and pick up orders. If this was the case....unless they put other orders that came in later in front of mine....they knew this when I called. They had my phone number....when they knew that they weren't even going to have made my pizza by the time it was supposed to be ready, they should have called. I was told it was going to take another 15 minutes. I asked that they call me when it was almost ready (frankly...at this point....since they had the DM piece and could see that I lived next door....they should have offered to deliver it). 20-25 minutes later they called to say it would be ready in 1-2 minutes. The pizza I ordered was extra cheese and pepperoni and I could barely find the pepperoni on the pizza (2 of the 4 pieces had none). Poor service....chain-like pizza. Not worth it.

I have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions. I was very fortunate to have a lot of friends in the area that do not eat pizza, so they gave me their free pizza coupons. Therefore, I decided to try as many pizzas as I could tolerate. :) Obviously, this is an eclectic pizza place that is not like your traditional pizza from those national chains. These pizzas are all about the toppings, but would you expect less from a name like Extreme Pizza? I definitely recommend the Yard Sale, Kickin Chicken, Paia Pie, and The Natural. The Yard Sale has to be my absolute favorite. The toppings were remarkably fresh and paired very well together. The Kickin Chicken is another favorite. It is a tad spicy, but gives you an asian flare on pizza. The Paia Pie gives a little different spin on your traditional Hawaiian Pizza. I also had The Natural Sub and was surprised at how good it was. There was an ample amount of fresh veggies that paired so well with the pesto spread. When I am in the mood for no meat, that sandwich is my go to. It's a bit small for a sub, but very good. Let's not forget that they now serve beer and wine. Their happy hour specials are another reason to check this place out. $10 pitchers? Good pizza and adult beverages? Hellz yes! When you want to change your pizza game by throwing a little love to your tastebuds, try this place out. Super friendly staff and owners.

It took three tries to get the phone answered and online ordering did not work. When I did get through it was a 90 minute wait. I guess the good news is that they are busy. Maybe they need more staff on busy nights?

Pizza selections are numerous and tasty. I like having choices a bit outside of a regular pizza place's pepperoni or mushrooms. Beer was great, variety and quality surprisingly good for a small restaurant. I'll definitely be back! Service was also exceptional.

During the first night of a three day weekend, we ordered from Extreme Pizza on the way home from sight seeing. Amazing pizza, but we we're beyond hungry. All in our party, three adults and two kids, we're very satisfied. On the way home the second night, all the kids wanted was Extreme Pizza. We tried the Yard sale and are hooked. The pie is so fresh and covered in veggies! Before we left town, the boys wanted to go back one more time! Wish they were in NJ.

This was my first experience with this pizzeria. And I cannot understand what the 4 stars are about! And it certainly was not worth the price they are charging. The Pizza dough was soggy and had no flavor to it all. I tried 2 different ones and they were both that way. I had the Mammonth and by no way was the name a reflection of what it should have been- where was the sausage? The amount of roasted peppers were hiding all the other flavors and hid the fact that there were few to no sausage at all? I have had pizza in New York and California and in DC and other places as well, but this was no where as good as I have had at other places. The dough should be crisp and at least have some flavor-maybe adding a little salt would help! I also ordered the Holy Cow and with the description I thought it would be oozing with cheese-wrong flat as can be. It comes with roasted walnuts but when is burnt walnuts the same as roasted? And on top of that after repeating 3 times it is the building with the construction the delivery person was giving the wrong address! This was not worth $43.00

Went here w/ my coworker one day for lunch... And the food was pretty good. I got a lunch special that was a dollar or two more than I wanted to pay but it's expected in this area. I have been here a few more times for lunch and I get the same thing (drink, slice of pizza, and salad). There's an extremely small bar area and limited table seating off to the left. But they have TVs and plenty of pizza, sub, and wing choices.

Great place for well cooked pizza with many varieties. Salad are fresh too! Also enjoyable to eat inside, large selection of beers, tap and bottle.

First time going there, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. A staff member also stopped by our table to make sure everything was excellent. The pizza I had (screaming tomato) was delicious. Can't complain about anything - I'll definitely be coming back!

Maybe the will work out their obscene wait times once they are open a little while longer. I ate in & they forgot my salad, which was not worth any wait by the way. The pizza itself was ok, but nothing that good. They seemed to have decent lunch specials. (By the slice, with drink, that type of thing.)

freshest ingredients, friendly staff, great beer, owner in the store. neighborhood joint feel with upscale product. highly recommend.

i'm visiting the area for like the third time but I never stayed in Crystal city. Extremely hungry and on yelp I read Ms. Sally's review and figured what the hell! OMG man I'm going for round 2 today if they deliver to my new hotel! I'm a big Pizza Hut person but this pizza was the best! I had the spicy route with extra cheese. I was pissed a little bout the pricing but its WELL worth it! This place needs to be in Texas and Louisiana!!

This place is alright, nothing to write home about and certainly not worth some of the EXTREME prices. At $24 for a 18" pizza, my expectations were a little high and I was disappointed. The pizza was average at best. Additionally, a buddy ordered the MONSTER sub and received an approximately 6" sub with a few slices of meat and a slice of cheese that was certainly not worthy of the title. With $1.50 slices at Costco next door, I would hope that Extreme Pizza would bring their A-game as I like the idea of a local lunch/dinner spot with high-quality offerings but my feelings are that Extreme Pizza isn't delivering.

I would give this place 5 stars, but I have only ever ordered take out (I lived right next door) so I can't comment on the dining in experience. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by Extreme Pizzza! Their prices are a little steep for pizza, but their quality was top notch. In the five times I have ordered from here, they always had it completed in ~20 minutes and maintained a good consistency. Toppings were plentiful and the taste was great! I had been looking for a good pizza place in Arlington for a while (especially in the Crystal City area) and this place is it. Definitely worth a try!

Fabulous pizza, beer AND friendly employees! Not sure I've been so impressed with a pizza spot prior to my experience this evening. It's rare to encounter such service in NOVA, let alone at a small establishment. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend "Green Envy"

Great food, great prices, great employees. I've been there multiple times and had great experiences each time. I'm glad they serve alcohol, great price on bottles of wine! Highly recommend it!!!

Picked up delivery a few times. I tried to have it delivered once or twice, but opted to just go pick up after being quoted rather long delivery times. They really need to work on that. My takeout orders were ready to go quickly, however, in the time they told me. Pizza is actually pretty decent for a chain pizza spot. Veg toppings all tasted fresh, dough was crisp, and plenty of toppings. There aren't a ton of options in the area, and extreme pizza is definitely a step up from papa johns, pizza hut, etc. Wings were mediocre. Avoid. Given the pizza delivery options in the area, it gets 4 stars, though if there was more around, I would probably rate it a 3.

I give the pizza a solid 4 stars and I added a star for the great service. I really like the non-traditional choices for pizza toppings. I ordered the Kickin Chicken which was really good. The Wham Bam Thank You Mammoth was also very good (a more traditional pizza). The food was delivered to the table and when our order arrived we were told they made the wrong pizza. Turns out this was their opening weekend so I assume they are still working out the kinks. The manager was very apologetic and said they were already making the new pizza and offered us the "wrong" pizza for free. That pizza was the Wingin It which I really liked too (loved the celery on the pizza with the wing sauce). By the way, the pizza reheats the next day very well. The restaurant is relatively small but there are about 8 tables as well as bar seats overlooking the kitchen as well the front windows. There are several TVs too.

Bad experience. Poor management. ordered 2 pizzas (pepperoni & cheese). Live in the same building. Delivery person said his GPS couldn't find the address. Manager wouldn't take our phone calls when we asked where our pizzas were. Do not recommend.

As far as pizza in the neighborhood, this is about as good as it gets. I love the personal size pizza so we can all get our own flavor. No more compromising! The quality here is great and the employees are very friendly. I would take off 1/2 a star for the wait, which can be longer than most pizza places I have been to.

I am happy with their pizza but not their service. I had to wait for 30 minutes for my pizza even though they didn't have that many customers in line at all. And the ironic thing is that all black customers behind me got their pizza before me... To be honest, I feel kinda discriminated against (I'm Asian.) Well, maybe they put extra thoughts into my pizza.

This place is fantastic! It has a much more eclectic selection of pizza options compared to Naked and the service is excellent. Once football season starts and the microbrews start flowing (on tap) there won't be a better place to get a slice and catch the game. Unlike most chains, the owner Ernie is a local resident and devoted to making sure things run smoothly and people get the best experience possible. Five stars.
