I have eaten here several times while visiting family in Lovelady. Always eat the buffet, good fried chicken, chicken and dumplings are in a nice creamy sauce, love the rice and gravy. Reminds me of home style cooking! Plenty to choose from with salad selections also! Great pies!

This place hit the spot... we got rained out camping and stopped into this hole in the wall cafe and were pleasantly surprised. Get the Big Country Breakfast (BCB) #1... the country fried steak is amazing. And cheap. The service was great, too. Don't think I ever saw the bottom of my coffee cup.

Ratty little country joint up in Houston County. Really good breakfast of bacon, eggs over easy, cheesy grits and biscuits and gravy. Good coffee, good portion sizes. You can't go wrong at least for breakfast. They also have the tower of pies. I didn't get to try any of them, but my dad, who is a cook in his own right assures me they are great. It is something that we are sorely missing here in the Humble/Kingwood area... PIES.

I would not recommend this place to anyone! We ate from the buffet & while trying to eat had to listen to the owner, I believe her name was Beverly (town gossip queen) talk horrible about some of her regular customers then if that wasn't enough while eating my food there was something in it that broke my tooth when I bit down. I TOLD THEM ABOUT IT & THEY ACTED AS IF THEY COULD CARE LESS & CONTINUED ON RINGING UP MY MEAL!! THE FOOD TASTED LIKE IT WAS STRAIGHT FROM THE CAN! HORRIBLE PLACE!!!!!!

The fried chicken was great - hot, fresh, tasty. I also liked the hamburger steak with rice. It was open on Sunday for lunch as we drove through. Choose from buffet or menu. Had probably the best peanut butter pie I've ever eaten. My husband liked his Italian cream cake as well.

Hilltop is a good old fashioned home cookin' kinda place! They are buffet style and the menu doesn't change much, but the food is always good quality. They have a fine selection of desserts as well, but the Italian Cream Cake.....HOME RUN......one of the best you'll ever eat!

We stopped by here on our way to Rusk and had the buffet. The fried chicken was very good. A cook came out and she got the brisket. I sampled it and it was okay. Kinda greasy but would be excellent with some BBQ sauce and on some bread! The veggies were canned but the salad bar was fresh but somewhat limited in selection. I would eat there again.
