Not the greatest Mexican restaurant I have ever been too, but does have some redeeming qualities. If you have read my other reviews you know I really don't like Mexican food but since my wife of 37 years loves it, I have to back down sometimes and let her do things myXXXher way. So we had time before the theatre to have some lunch, so this caught our eye and she talked me into it once again. I'll go to just about any Mexican restaurant as long as I can have a margarita, so I had my usual frozen one and my wife had her usual on the rocks, both with salt. Tasty and refreshing. I had the chicken nachos with jalapenos, my usual go to dish, and my wife had a very tasty vegetable chimichanga (way too healthy for me!) The most impressive thing was the decor--the usual garish colors that most Mexican restaurants have, but all of the wood in the booths and chairs was hand-carved scenes from south of the border, and even though painted in bright colors, they were really spectacular, along with carved art work on the walls. There was a lot of time and talent invested in the furnishings, so even though the food was not spectacular, it was at least as good as any of the other Mexican restaurants in the area with a much nicer atmosphere. A very respectable margarita and fresh guacamole - and a nice courtyard for dining. I could do with out the loud music- unless it is a live Mariachi Band! I would stick with the basics here. Excellent, friendly service.

We initially picked Romo's for its gorgeous outdoor patio, but it was too cold to eat outside, so we ate in their garish orange dining room typical of Mexican-American restaurants. Romo's has nice booths for smaller parties and larger banquet tables for families, and we got a cozy corner table for date night. It was packed on a Saturday night, so that's a good sign of doing good business. We had several waiters throughout the night, one of whom I think was the manager, which was a little confusing. I will say that with most Mexican restaurants, you're in and out quick, but we didn't feel rushed at all at Romo's. We watched some parties come and go quicker than us, but I think they could tell we were out for a date night, and once we ordered pitcher of margaritas between the two of us, they let us sit back and relax. It did take quite a long time at the end of our meal to receive the check and get our bill processed, but whether that was intentional or not, I'm not sure. Their more expensive margarita pitcher cost us $25 and we could barely finish it over the course of our meal. They were strong, flavorful, and tasty. We split the Romo's dip for an appetizer, and it was yummy, cheesy, meaty, pico de gallo goodness. Kyle had a chicken and chorizo rice dish that was delicious, and my shrimp and mushroom burrito was cheesy and rich. We were overjoyed with our meal (though the margaritas may have played a role in that...haha). We've been to both Cancun's in town, too, but next time we're craving Mexican, we'll go for Romo's again.

It was great! My friend ordered a pork dish and it was huge!!! My romos special was a normal size and everything was delicious! Prices are good too! Would be a regular if I lived here! Good people and fast service also

It started with chips and salsa, that was good! Next came the peach margarita with fresh fruit, very good! The meal was really good! Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere, very authentic! Great job!

Waited over a hour and still never received food. Excuse was they was busy. 2 other tables that sat down 40 mins after us got food before us. Not going back...

Food was ok but not great. We got chimichangas and they were slightly burned but ok. Prices are very reasonable. Service on this day was sub par. Nothing terrible but a couple minor over sights. No silverware and only one menu. To the servers credit he was dealing with several tables. Eventually we got silverware and a couple more menus. Decent place but not great.
