My mother and I had lunch here a few years ago while we were Christmas shopping in the South Side. They had a surprising variety of teas and an amazing lunch menu. It took a little while to get the tea served, but it was steeped properly. They had a good selection of meat pies and the menu stayed true to the English tea house ambience. They also had a cute gift shop.

I love going for not only the awesome atmosphere but the tea and lunch is amazing! ( I suggest the Earl Grey)

The sandwiches are really good and the portions are great. Always seated quick. Tea is delicious. The waitresses could be a little more outgoing but I guess a tea room is more of a serious and sophisticated atmosphere? We go almost every other week now. Its fun to pretend to be English and talk with accents while sipping out tea.

One of my favorite places in the world. Beyond the lovely ambiance is some delicious, hearty food. This is traditional English dining done very well. The prices are more than fair, 3 of us dined on a 3 course meal for $60 (including tip). Try the scones with lemon curd.

One of the best experiences I've ever had. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was wonderful and the China is my mom's pattern. The food and tea was excellent! It was great seeing mom's and daughters having tea time together.

This place was great! I love the tea the pick for their house tea. The sandwiches were wonderful! The salmon sandwiches are amazing. The scone was great with the clotted cream and jam. The tea shop is really cute too. I saw the jammie dodgers and was super excited (I said to my mom "Doctor Who!"). This is the best tea place I've found since a tea shop in Gettysburg, PA that closed years ago. Definitely a great place to stop. If we come back to Chattanooga, we will definitely come back to The English Rose!

Went there once. Loved the food. I also had British chocolate which was way better then I thought. I was with a group oh 10 and all of us liked our food.

The English Rose is probably a nice place for lunch or early dinner, but I would not recommend ever having a large party here. I contacted them to hold a bridal shower, and they said that they would absolutely be able to handle a large party. This was categorically not true. The food was fine, there was only one type of tea (we'd been promised iced and hot, which we didn't receive), and when it came to attempting to pay, it was a circus. The manager, Clare, was a disaster. She was totally unorganized, could not figure out how much to charge anyone, and in the end I paid nearly $50 more than the price I'd been quoted at the beginning of the party. I will never go back to this place and recommend that you don't either, unless you want to be ripped off.

My friend generously took me to the English Rose for a traditional multi-course Christmas dinner one year, knowing that I love to try all different types of cuisine. I certainly enjoyed the experience. One of us was designed the "Mother," and only the "Mother" could pour tea from the cute little teapot nestled in its cozy on our table. I tried the sausage-wrapped quail egg, various pastries, and mincemeat pie. While I appreciated the dinner, I've decided that English food doesn't suit my palate. Still, I enjoyed my time at the English Rose and bid them cheerio until we meet again.
