I'm disappointed every time we come to Macaroni Grill... The prices are too high, quality is mediocre, service is terrible -- 1 hr to get our food, 1 hr to sort out the bill (even with a manager involved), and they seem to always screw up our order... But we did get a "complementary" dessert out the deal (which they charged us for even after promising to take it off the ticket). Ridiculous!

Great birthday lunch here today. My favorite mushroom ravioli was excellent with a crunchy topping of Parmesan, caramelized onions and sauce. And then a fluffy addition of fresh grated Parmesan. Wait staff was attentive and energetic.

My wife and I ate there 4/28/14 and both of us got sick at our stomachs afterward. The food took a long time to come out even though there were only about 6 tables occupied on a Sunday night. That should have been a heads up that something wasn't right. I had the chicken scaloppine and it was cold and tough when I got it. My wife had the meatballs.

Sorry I can't give -5 stars. I was at this restaurant on a Wednesday afternoon, before a graduation event. There were only 3 tables at the restaurant occupied. While I'll admit there were between 15 to 20 people at each of these 3 tables. The staff told us they had just today started using a new computer program. It took 45 minutes to receive the food. Which was not so bad I guess but it also took 30 to 40 minutes to get the check. I complained to the manager twice. The first time he explained that they were in training. I suggested that maybe they should have done that last week. The second time I told him that "the last time I went to a RMG I swore I'd never come back" and that this had only confirmed that in my mined. His only response was "OK".

Atmosphere was fine. Nothing special but nothing to complain about either. Service was very attentive, but not real friendly. No smiles, which to me sets the whole mood for a meal. Food was good... average. I'd say if you are hungry, definitely ok to eat here. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience, probably better keep looking.

I've been here a handful of times and had a pleasant experience every time. The food is great, although a little pricier than others ie Olive Garden but their food is delicious and I've never had bad service there.

I really don't like complaining about a restaurant, but here goes. My wife and I have attended this restaurant 3 or 4 times now over a span of 3 years. This recent visit will probably be our last. We walked in and there was no host/hostess at the front desk. Someone finally sees us and seemed to consult with two other employees on where to seat us. The place was about half full, from what we could tell...more likely it was less than half full. It took them about a minute to decide where to seat us. Why did this take so long and why did three staff members need to deal with this? The service was mediocre at best. The waitress was nice, but didn't act professional. Our appetizers were ok in the taste category, and one was not hot like it should have been. Seemed like it was left on the counter for too long. Our main dishes came almost AN HOUR after we ordered them! (This wait made us miss our movie, btw...) And these weren't complicated dishes. My wife had fettuccine alfredo, and I had a roasted chicken flat bread pizza. We agreed the taste of both dishes were good, but not worth the price. My wife said the top layer of her pasta dish was dry and crunchy. Very unprofessional. I finished my pizza first, and my wife was almost done with hers when the host, not the waitress, but the host came and asked to take "these" out of the way. I said yes, thinking he was pointing to the few empty plates on the table, but instead takes my plate, and my wife's bowl of pasta, and then takes the silverware and not subtly, but clangs them in her bowl! When he left, my wife said, "I guess I'm done eating," when she still had food in the bowl! Overall, the atmosphere/decor was the best thing about this restaurant. It seems like the management focuses on that than service or quality of food. Very disappointed with the visit.

Tonight I ate at the Macaroni Grill. I ordered Mama's Trio. The lasagna tasted like it was 5 hours old. I told the waiter that it tasted old and I really didn't want another one because I didn't want to wait for it. Also, I feared it would come out just like the first one. He told the manager and she came out to see if there was anything she could do. I told her the problem and that I didn't want anything else. Although the staff was nice, when they handed me the check there was no discount. I couldn't believe my eyes. I got very mad, paid the bill and left as soon as I could. This is the type of thing that loses customers which I am one.

It was a waste of $45. Stacey was a poor server. Didn't get fresh ground pepper or water, & had to ask for bread. My wife had wanted to eat there for quite a long time. So I took her for new year's eve. My mistake.

Service was horrible....waiter did not listen and continued bringing wrong drinks. Pizza was very cold, ordered angel hair pasta and dish came with wide noodle plus bow tie pasta thrown in...took about 45 minutes for food to come after waiting about 15 minutes for waiter to come initially. Second and last time there....training excuse used both times and restaurant had dinner time only had about 3 tables occupied...guess that should say something....manager really did t seem to care...

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
