We are in love with this little corner establishment. I personally say its a bar that is bright open and cheerful, not dark like most bars..and they serve food. They have some bar seating and a few tables ( 2 seaters) and then there is a patio area decking outside to the side...larger than inside seating area.. that is where you smoke.. The inside is white walls and big windows..I liked the atmosphere inside. There were a couple tvs watching saturday football..and the owner is an Elvis fan.. We ordered a Soda and PBR...only $1.90 for the beer..yes $1.90 for 16 oz can..great bargain..she charged me a $1 for my large glass of soda.. Can't beat this with a stick..we are definitely going back here... Great views of the Walnut Street bridge, the river and Southside of Chattanooga..from the patio.. checked out the menu, pricing for the simple sandwiches are very reasonable as well...you can definitely eat here and stay within your budget.. Highly recommend..I am going back again and again!!!

After reading the other reviews I decided to stop after work one day. Small place with little seating but found a table by the door. Service was good and friendly. Seems to be a local hangout for some. Had the Bison burger and an ice cold PBR (haven't had one of those in eons!). The burger and fries were really good and a very nice hole in the wall atmosphere. I'll be back...

The only reason this place got a star at all is that you can't not do it. Bottom line, avoid this place like the plague. It's obvious they're not paying their suppliers, half the menu items are not available. They say their credit card machine is down, but we walked by today, two weeks after our horrible experience, and the sign is still up. If your card processing company has cut you off, you're toast. The burger could have been good, but the bun was Uber stale. Don't, just don't.

Great local corner bar. Everyone is friendly and regulars abound. One of the best burgers in Chattanooga, but don't expect a variety of toppings. They stick to the standards here and do them well. Cheap beer, and save a bit on prices if you pay cash. This will probably enter my regular rotation.

Love this place for the cheap beer! The food seems kind of an awesome greasy spoon, although I didn't try it. The owner is friendly and likes to talk and watch baseball. The servers are kind of hipster, and may present that aloof affrontery, but people are people. Just talk to em. The inside is plastered with weird Elvis memorabilia, which is kind of cool and creepy at the same time. Great little spot if you live in the area, or if you are crawling across the city to the south side of the Noog.

This establishment is much nicer on the inside than the outside. Pros: bison burger was phenomenal, cheap beer prices, cool homey atmosphere. Cons: no draft beer, credit prices are a couple dollars more, so bring cash. All in all a great place to grab a beer and burger.

THIS! is a real burger place! The atmosphere here is great - a laid back place with small tables, a long bar, and TVs showing the game inside..., tables outside with a nice view. The whole feel is that of a down home burger kitchen w/ some sports entertainment. The burgers are excellent - a nicely flavored juicy patty on a nice fresh bun. Throw bacon on top and you've got burger heaven. A good side of fries and you're set. They have 2 sets of prices on their menu - cash and credit - so for a really good deal - bring some cash and the prices are really really cheap - great bang for the burger. The only tough part about it is parking - but dealing w/ parking to come here is worth it. (Well, you'll also need to look here or the North Chatt Cat's facebook page to try and memorize the interesting hours/days that they're open). I'll close with Chatt Cat's slogan for children: "Unattended children will be given a free espresso and a puppy" hehehe =)

Me: full-size burger with bacon, three peebers. The little lady: regular sized burger with two peebers. Total bill was 24 bones. First off, that's a great price for dinner and froth dogs for two if the burgers are B-. However, the burgers are great, the crowd is very laid-back, and when I asked for coozies for the pabst, the tender grabbed us a couple off the fridge. SOLD. Couple of observations: 1) Reminds me of Moe's in Charleston (pre-renovated version on Rutledge) but lots of natural light during the day. 2) Normally I get annoyed by cash/credit prices, but it's very obvious on the menu and almost seems like you're getting a deal by paying with lettuce instead of getting hosed by paying by card. 3) Being new to Chattanooga, I'm glad this place will be one block from my place and excited to take out'a'towners here.

How could you not love this little place by the river? Way laid back and easy. The owner is a Chattanooga legend in my mind. The view on the deck of the river and down town is a great one topped off with a great burger and beer. And some how there is always a cute waitress.

Can't believe no one's written about this burger yet. When I first moved to the city, I was questing after the best burger in town. Tried Magoo's ... hopeless. Did some Merv's ... getting warmer. But I never topped the burger at the North Chatt Cat. Juicy, delicious, perfect amount of toppings. You just don't expect something that good to come out of the kitchen of this very unassuming beer bar, but it did every time I was in there. Maybe the low expectations are what make it taste so good. But I don't think so. I think it's just good.
