It was AWESOME! On our way back from a Braves game, my friend and I decided to stop in Chattanooga to have a supper. He recommended this place saying that he's had their calzone in Burlington, NC, where he's from and he said it was hands down delicious. Well we had spicy Mamba pizza, yes it was delicious. However, we didn't like our waitress. Though she was courteous, it took forever for her to bring our pizza or a box to go or our drinks. Overall, we will go back there in a couple weeks when we go back to Chattanooga.

The gluten free pizza crust was pretty bad. Texture was crumbly and it had a weird sweetness. My Greek salad was good. Service was slow and spotty. Our gluten eating friends looked like they had a yummy pizza but it took them forever to get their order. I would not dine here again as a gluten-free eater.

My favorite little pizza place in downtown proper! There are a few charming aspects of the place that haven't been discussed at length yet. I won't beat the psychedelic drum again - it comes with the territory of a restaurant and bar with "Baked on the Stone" as their tagline. They have a surprising number beers - not just a half dozen imports and Budweiser, mind you. They have maybe two dozen or so in tap and more in bottle. One thing I enjoyed most was trying out new or local brews. The pizza is pretty tasty. I'm most excited about the option of having breadsticks or baked pretzels, which are prepared with toppings like the sticks, and served with sauce just like them. Some may say it's just a breadstick twisted in a knot, but gosh golly gee, it caught me by surprise the first time and I've enjoyed them more because of the fact ever since. I arrived during "lunch rush," which turned out to be not as crowded as I initially expected. Their estimated cooktimes outlined right on the menu were more or less spot on, give or take a few minutes. We didn't have to wait around for refills anything like that. We may have been lucky, but the service was just fine. When I get back into town, I'll definitely be here again!

Fun place, but limited food choices. Ended up getting my daughter food someplace else, but I enjoyed the good beer selection. The pizza dough pretzel is very delish!

We really enjoy this place, although we haven't tried any of the entrees (other than pizza). It can get pretty busy at times, but we've always been well taken care of. If we're looking to eat on the cheap we always go for a half order of garlic parmesan pretzels (ask for Esperanza Dressing instead of maranara sauce) and a small pizza. It's plenty of food for the three of us for about $20.

If you are in downtown Chattanooga and want to avoid the smoke filled sports or club Mellow Mushroom is a great place to get a beer and some pizza. Of all the Mellow Mushrooms I've been to around the South, this one is a little small and less decorated than the others but it is much more bar like than family restaurant like, its bar stretching at least a half a mile (obviously not..but its huge) and the place seats way more drunks than families which is a good strategy for downtown. As always, the pizza is great and they have excellent brews. Also, not every single TV in the place has sports on it, but when they do, sometimes its sports like snooker or racing rather than the traditional sports seen in nearly every restaurant and bar in the region (and I mean nearly every). Mellow Mushroom is always a win.

Much better the second time around. My coworker and I both ordered a small but they gave us a medium size by accident and didn't charge us for the mistake. I tried their "bull dog" which was decent. This time around the crust was perfect so 1 out of 2.

They have great pizza. When the weather allows, it's a great place to sit outside and eat and drink and people watch. If you're a beer drinker, make sure to look on their website and join the beer club that they have. It is a rewards club type thing. The restaurant downtown is my favorite but they also have another location off of Shallowford Rd. We have been there too. It's a good one too but I just like the downtown better.

This pizza was absolutely delicious!!! We order a steak, feta, onion, mushroom, pizza, I believe it was called the Philospher...never the less it was awesome. Perfect crust, cheese, all the ingredients fresh...super good. I really have nothing left to say. If you want good pizza....definitely give them a try. They stay pretty busy, now I understand why. All smiles.

First off, I think the menu for this chain promises a lot. Tons of interesting toppings for your pizza. Also, I'm very happy that they always have a gluten-free crust option. The main problem was in execution. Service was slow and the food was just average. The place didn't seem too busy (steady, but not crowded). After ordering and receiving our apps it took 10 minutes for us to get silverware ... so the apps just sat and cooled while we waited. When we did get silverware it was just a fork, so we waited another 5 minutes for napkins. These are simple things that should take only a minute or less. The GF crust was pretty good and I recommend it. I don't recommend the vegan cheese (we're not vegan but wanted to try it).

HORRIBLE tasting gluten-free pizza crust, and it made me sick. Def. had been glutenized somehow. I will not be going back!

Mellow Mushroom. Yep, good pizza. A busload of beers, kid friendly, always packed to the gills restaurant. They do their thang. I go participate occasionally.

Stopped here for a quick lunch before work, not really knowing what to expect. Quickly pulled up to the bar and ordered a red wine. This was clearly the wrong choice. This is definitely a "beer bar". After studying the menu in hopes to find SOMETHING that is under 3000 calories I decided on the 'build your own salad', a concept I adore! How it works: pick your greens (spinach and spring greens for me), pick your toppings (about 30 to chose from, i decided on olives, artichokes, tomatoes), pick your cheese (feta for me), pick your protein (which i chose grilled chicken), pick your dressing (balsamic vinegar). The salad was VERY generous and it was delicious...except for the chicken. The chicken was fatty, chewy and tasted old. Gross. Surprisingly poor service for sitting at the bar. Maybe they were understaffed (which didn't really seem to be the case)? Or maybe the bartender had it out for us with our bad service and icky chicken. Next time, I would make it a 'cheat day' and order one of their infamous 'pies' or calzones and wash it down with an ice cold Landshark.

I was expecting something great. The atmosphere is awesome, the outdoor and indoor seating options will make everyone happy, it's in a great part of town, their menu is huge and beer selection is great too. I've had a meatball sandwich that I thought was pretty good.... the problem with this place is that their pizza just isn't that great. The crust is flavored pretty well I guess. If you're going here for pizza, you can find 3 other local pizza joints that are much better within 5 miles. Still, the location is right near downtown and the atmosphere of the place is very fun. You won't regret going there, you'll just go home still hankering for some good pizza.

Went to the downtown location tonight (Saturday night). The wait there ended up to be hour long although the person at front said about 40 mins. Had the enlightened spinach salad and added jerk chicken. Although, they forgot to add dressing to the salad, it was really good with tons of chicken. I wish I wasn't so hungry I would have taken a picture. My only complaint would be more pecans and dried cherries. I would definitely go again.

As someone who doesn't live in Chattanooga, but spends a fair amount of time in the area and has tried a lot of the restaurants, this beats them all out, for me. This location is my favorite restaurant, period. I know it sounds kinda silly - it's just a pizza bar - but the food is always delicious and fresh, the staff is nice and fun to chat with, and the atmosphere is great. I live two hours away, but make a trip up every couple of months just to have dinner here and walk around town. Oh, and if you go, and haven't had the calzones, try them - they're incredible.

Great spot for pizza! My kids loved watching them make the pizza. The dough was great, and the server was attentive. I absolutely recommend this place.

Despite the occasional minor bumps that happen (all readily fixed so no big deal), I continue to be a frequent MM visitor and fan. This update is for one small but delicious reason: the hummus. I had no idea! Delicious, perfect texture - garnished with diced tomato (and a few olives but easy to pick around if you prefer, as I do) - tasty toasted pita points. And . . . $3 weekdays during happy hour after 3pm. Sold, to the woman with the laptop!

I had lunch at MM yesterday and sat at one of the High top tables in the bar area and the bar is L shaped and big. Most of MM tables inside are booths on each side with tables down the middle. They do have metal table chairs outside - maybe 5 or 6. It is rustic with cute pics on the wall. It is ideally located across from the Aquarium, Market Street Bridge and the river. Street parking and paid parking available nearby and there is covered parking in the same block and when you get off the elevator, you are right at the restaurant. Just FYI parking is free on the streets on Sunday and during the week after 5:30PM, I believe. MM is a pizza place with a selection of great pizzas as well as sandwiches and typical bar type food. The pizza selection is great and the combinations of toppings seem endless. They also have a huge selection of draught beers (+1) and a full bar. My guest had Bud Light Draught and I had the Chattanooga local brew - OK OK we had 2 each. We could not decide on one pizza so we bought a medium, 1/2 meat lovers and 1/2 with caramel onions and chicken I believe (I ate the Meat lovers so can't comment on the other side but my guest loved it. The waiter was great and we ordered a medium pizza but they gave us a large by accident so that was OK. Food was hot and delicious and service was great. It gets a 4 from me. FOR OUR VISITORS TO CHATTANOOGA - For our visitors who are not aware, Chattanooga has a free electric shuttle bus that runs every five minutes or so from the Chattanooga Choo Choo Holiday Inn (near main and Market) to the Aquarium (which is about 14 blocks from the Choo Choo); with numerous stops along the way.. if you want to go to the north shore, just change shuttles - Check it out at downtownchattanooga.org/… .

I'm giving the MM two stars and not one as a benefit of the doubt because we had it delivered by some third party company. MM referred me to them so I should hold it against them but I'll give the cold meal responsibility to the delivery folks. As for the food, it was as follows: Small Caesar salad with chicken - almost nothing but lettuce and the chicken on the side. Two burnt pieces of something in the chicken container and SOFT croutons.... Hardly much to discuss Portobello mushroom cap app - small, barely stuffed with much and lost in a bed or wilted greens. Neither of us could eat more than a bite. Mild chicken wings - horrible. Burnt. Bad. Flavorless. Totally disappointing to be honest. If I can post the picture I will. Caprese salad - my wife just wrinkled her nose. The best of a horrible meal. All in all, I've been to other MMs and this was just an awful meal. Don't get it delivered and maybe order light in person before you go all in. We wasted our meal.

Pizza - always very good. Beer - always something new to try. Service - Brooks always makes the difference. We're picky about the MM. Most are a dice roll on whether you get some service worth noting. Not with Brooks. Always efficient. Always gracious. Always the reason we go to the MM in downtown Chattanooga!

I love Mellow Mushroom, but not this one. I hardly ever go to the Broadstreet one, but every time I go, the service is mediocre and I quickly feel forgotten. Managers don't seem to circulate the restaurant as much as they should. In the specific visit that made me want to write this review, our waitress got sat with a 25 top and had to transfer us to another server. This isn't what I'm complaining about. I'm a server, I get it. But the server that picked us up was really sarcastic and came across as rude. As a server, you should be kind and understanding. I understand the certain vibe Mellow Mushroom has, and the servers are supposed to the laid back and everything, but he was just annoying, and constantly left us with empty cups. Moral of the story: keep cups filled and conversation pleasant and people won't write bad reviews.

Went last night and in wasn't too happy. The staff wasn't friendly and the bar atmosphere was lame.

I'm giving this another star for the sole reason that management replied and sincerely want to know how to make people's experiences better. That speaks volumes. That is awesome.

So I reviewed Mellow Mushroom Waterside a couple of weeks ago and now it's the Downtown location that gets my attention. Again, went for Team Trivia night. Was seated in a secret back room I never knew existed. It was a pretty good size with lots of TVs. Even one GIGANTIC screen. This was obviously not their first rodeo aka trivia night, and they were pretty organized and already had tables separated for teams, big & small. I was forewarned that it can get pretty crowded so I showed up early to grab a table for my team. Luckily that meant I got to partake of the Happy Hour that ends at 7:00 p.m. I ordered a Three Olives Pomegranate & Tonic for $3. It was yummy. Not too sweet, but refreshing and hit the spot, so I quickly ordered another one before the cut off time. Phew...just got in under the clock. I also ordered the pretzel bites appetizer, which really aren't pretzels, but bits of pizza dough with butter and cheese on them and come with a side of sauce for dipping. They were warm and chewy and the sauce was slightly sweet and thick. Very nice little bite. Then I ordered the 1/2 size hummus plate. The hummus was super good, tasted fresh made, and the warm pita bread was the perfect vessel to smear the hummus on. I almost ate the whole thing, but saved a couple pieces for my friend. Lastly, I ordered 2 of the $5 small cheese pizzas. Sometimes you just really need a good cheese pizza. This was tasty, but I could have used a tad more cheese on it. Nonetheless, it fed the three of us with leftovers for later. Our server, Dalton, was great. He checked with us often enough and made sure we were ok. He had to handle a few tables trying to get those Happy Hour orders in and did so with patience. He even made sure to get my 2nd drink in just before the cut-off. The servers who work the trivia nights are great and should be tipped generously. I did notice there was quite the hipster vibe going on in there. Not a bad thing, just an observation. Cook but friendly people. Thanks again, MM for a great location.

Huge fan of MM, since eating at their original location in the 70's. If there's a location close by I know the food will be delicious. We went with the MELLOWTERRANEAN and ended up talking to the guy sitting at the bar next to us with his HOLY SHIITAKE PIE - long story short we ended up swapping stories and slices - turn out he was from West Palm, small world. Great beer selection, local as well as hard to find brews. Be advised, with the aquarium across the street this place fills up quick.

I have been to many mellow mushrooms and I have to admit that they never disappoint. On this visit we had gone to the aquarium in Tennessee and wanted to have lunch. Even though the place was very busy we were sad extremely fast the only thing that would've been better was if the booths were a little bit bigger. Our server was very friendly and right on point. All her food came up fast and it was delicious. Very consistent with other restaurants that we have visited from mellow mushroom. Having three children with us and having your food come out fast was a blessing.

Plenty of open tables but there's a 20-30 minute wait? Our 4 top opted to sit at the bar. After a brief wait, we ordered our drinks. They were delivered expeditiously. We ordered two appetizers- bruschetta and pretzels. The bruschetta came out quickly. We then waited about 20 more minutes for the pretzels. The beer cheese dip, that we paid $2.50 extra for, was forgotten. By the time it arrived we had eaten 4 of the 6 pretzels. This visit started out ok but failed miserably at the halfway mark.

I like this mellow mushroom more than the one in memphis. Excellent pizza and they're more generous with the toppings. Cool atmosphere, good location.

The service was great. We were able to be seated, order and have our food quickly. Being gluten free and dairy free, I was excited to have a gluten free crust pizza with vegan cheese (something I can't get many places). It was one of the best gluten free, dairy free pizzas I've ever had.

It's been a while since I last ate here and I'm sorry that it has been so long! I was in the mood for a calzone. Naturally I thought of Mellow Mushroom. They have great calzones. They are filled with cheese and whatever filling you would like. I'm a purist so I chose pepperoni for mine. While I was waiting, I got a beer. They have a very good number of beers on draft and have a ton offered in a bottle. The bartender is very knowledgeable about the beers and recommended one to me. It was super good! (Chattanooga Brew imperial Pilsner). It took no time for my food to arrive and it was delicious! The crust was flavorful and chewy and stuffed with pepperoni and oozing with cheese! So good. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly! I won't wait very long to go back!!

Outstanding unique pizza combinations and great service! Wish they had Prosecco or at least Champaign.

AMAZEBALLS!! I always have to stop here when I come to town to visit some of my family. Brought my bf with me this time. We are big beer connoisseurs and I knew they would have a great selection for him to choose from including local and seasonal beers. But we can't forget about the PIZZA!! We ordered the Magic Mystery Tour pizza and added sausage. My mouth is watering just thinking about it right now. Delicious! The crust is to die for too. My aunt and two cousins were with us too. We also ordered the pretzels with beer cheese, magic mushroom soup, and cheesy garlic bread with olive tempenade. Beers were great and the food is delicious! If you go to Chattanooga you definitely need to go here! Not to mention $1 beers on Sunday's!

I do not have bad experiences here with food, service, or speed. The pizza is made to order and always tasty, the staff friendly, the ambience great. The men's room is a pit, though, so take care of business beforehand. Enjoy the beer, too, with a wide and varied draught selection.

Their idea of hygiene is ridiculous. I happened to glance toward the kitchen and saw one of the kitchen staff wildly waving a receipt of some sort over a plate of food....unfortunately, that plate of food was mine. Maybe they were trying to disperse the smell of onions that I had asked them to leave off my salad. Not going back there.
(1)
Zaldy Z.
They cooked our grilled chicken with thai chili sauce a little dark and ask if we like to take it and we did. It actually taste good! The manager gave us another one and did not charge us at all. Good service and taking care of their customer. The Shitake pizza is good. Good place to visit and eat when you are visiting Chatanoga.
(4)
Scott M.
Pizza was awesome. But when you bring a pizza to the table, there is no reason for it not to be cut all the way through the crust. Fighting to get a slice to your plate because it's not cut properly is unnecessary. Again, pizza taste awesome.

Delicious food! We started with the mushroom soup, wow! Get some. For our meal we got the Philosopher's Pie. It was amazing! Service was great - We had Andy. Cool atmosphere. Next time we're in Chattanooga, we will come here. You should too.

The pizza at the Downtown Mellow Mushroom is excellent. The draft beer is cold and tastes like the employees know how to clean and maintain a draft beer system.

Every time we visit Chattanooga we visit this restaurant. We haven't always had the best experiences here, but last night our server was on top of it. Good service and the food came out fast and hot.

This was the first place I tried Southern Tier Pumpking so it will always have a special spot in my heart. The pretzels as aps are great and you can't get them just anywhere. The pizza is good but not the best I've ever had. The bartenders are good but they never seem to have enough help. One bartender for the entire bar? Especially during a busy lunch on the Saturday of a holiday weekend... Overall, if I'm in Chattanooga I won't avoid this place but I won't carve out time to come back either.
(3)
Anthony T.
Stopped by for lunch on my way to my meeting the sandwich I had was pretty good and the service was ok as well. The sandwich was priced high for what you get. Nine ($9) dollars for a sandwich and no fries or nothing. Yes, just for a sandwich and no sides.

Fun for the entire family awaits at the downtown Mellow Mushroom. This location is often crowded with limited seating, but also offers outdoor seating on the street level. Ice cream shop just down the street. Overall great place for a casual meal or a group.
(5)
L M.
Stopped in for dinner, we tried the bruschetta and the spinach artichoke dip as our appetizers. They were both good. We then waited an entire hour for our pizzas and the restaurant was not even crowded. The three small pizzas we ordered were hot, the two medium pizzas we ordered were cold and already turning hard. We enjoyed the crust and some of our pizzas (mainly the hot and fresh ones). I probably would not go back, nothing I would crave and their are so many other pizza options.

I always enjoy my visits here. I appreciate the vegan options; more than any non-vegan restaurant in town. My favorite is the Thai Dye pizza. There are also some good choices in the sandwiches and appetizers. Consistently friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere.
(5)

Great pizza. The service was ok but left a little to be desired. However, the pizza was very good and I liked the atmosphere. Definitely pricey, but for an every now and then family treat it is worth the price. I would go back next time I am in Chattanooga.

Great pizza! I really like this location being downtown and all. Servers are friendly, service is great and the pizza is some of the best around. I really like Mellow Mushroom's dough.
(4)

I walked into the restaurant at 10:20pm on Wednesday, 17Apr2013. Despite the website stating they're open until 11pm, they're closed. There were still people eating and drinking; beer was still being served. The door was unlocked, hence why I walked into the restaurant in the first place. But the bartender said they're closed, so I left. Five dollars was spent on parking for nothing!

Overall a good experiences. Pizza dough and toppings are fresh. I recommend ordering off the menu and not building your own. Leave the pizza making to the experts. Pizza and hoagies are good but nothing phenomenal. Staff is pleasant, not overly friendly. Very cool interior with vintage Coke signs everywhere. Great beer specials from local brewers. I always order a dirty vodka martini- one of the best in town! Great places for a date or large groups of people.

We went here on July 3 and it was crowded, crazy crowded. The hostess noted that it would be 40-45 minutes, but for me it's worth the wait. We were seated in about 30 minutes. We ordered cheese bread and it was great, the sauce was delicious and it was delivered in great time. For pizza we ordered pepperoni with half mushroom, small. The size was just right and the pizza was fantastic! The crust is my favorite and the sauce will do you right! Our server was great as well, good attitude and very friendly.

I know this is a chain pizza place but it doesn't feel like it. Pizza was really good. Several specialty pizzas out of the ordinary. Service was good. Great beer selection. Whenever we travel we make a point to stay away from chain restaurants and try local places but I would gladly grab a slice & a beer here!

Coming from Atlanta, where there's a Mellow Mushroom in just about every neighborhood, I walked in here with a pretty good idea of what to expect. I wasn't too disappointed. Being a location in a more "touristy" part of downtown Chattanooga, this place is decorated nicely. The service was friendly, but very slow. The food was good and came out pretty quickly, despite the large size of our party (9 people). Unfortunately, the service left something to be desired. Our server didn't check back with us very often. I often sat around waiting for a refill on my drink. In fact, there were some stretches where we wondered if she went on break or something. The service wasn't so bad that I wouldn't come back here. After all, the food was very good.

Valerie T.
Ordered pizza to go as we passed through on our way to Knoxville, since I am gluten free and can't order at any old fast food place. The gf pizza was good, albeit a little doughy, but it was ready by the time we got there. I ordered pepperoni and mushrooms, and unfortunately the mushrooms left a little to be desired; sparse and not well cooked. But, the place seemed cool and had a good bar.
(3)

New addition not designed for people without children. We were seated there last night even though there were plenty of open tables in the front of the restaurant. Hostess needs some training. No one waited on us so we moved to the bar
(2)

Great pizzas... but why is it always so slow?? I think it has something to do with the hostesses also being responsible for clearing the tables. There will often be 2 to 4 tables waiting to be cleaned off so that people can get seated.

OK, so Mellow Mushroom is a chain, but that doesn't stop them from being the best pizza in downtown Chattanooga. The small pizzas are just the right size for one adult. The crust is on the thin side, but still thick enough that you can pick up a slice and eat it without difficulty. There is the knife + fork option, but eating by hand is easier. The exposed crust area covers a large portion of each slice -- convenient for holding, but not so great if you don't like crust. They usually sprinkle some parmesan cheese on the outside, but it hardly gets in the way. The cheese is layered in moderation, and there is a HUGE variety of toppings available: meats, cheeses, vegetables, pineapple, etc. I'm always pleased with my pizza. The space inside the restaurant is pretty huge, with lots of tables and booths, plus a full bar and some TV screens. The whole psychedelic mushroom theme isn't my favorite, but I get it, and the servers are "mellow" and friendly without coming across as too hippie-like. The popularity of this place means that you'll have to wait to get a table or booth, but the pizza is worth it.
(4)
S W.
The wait staff was friendly, the beer selection was good, and the pizza was pretty good. We were able to get seated quickly on Saturday night of Labor Day weekend, the wait for our pizza was longer than expected, but we were just happy to be indoors with cold drinks, so the wait was not a problem...plus, the staff did a great job of setting expectations by telling us there would be a wait. All in all, it was a better than average experience.

Christina M. R.
It's so mellow, man. I'm pretty sure everyone who worked there had their watches set to 4:20 all the time. Very granola-crunchy lookin' staff with big smiles and surprisingly quick service (well, quicker than I expected considering it's called mellow). The pizza was huge and delish. My friend and I could barely finish the whole thing. Our drinks were about a liter each. The atmosphere was psychadelic chic. The bar offered an array of beers on tap that everyone seemed to enjoy. Groovy times.

OK, so I should say up front if you're in a hurry, do not go here for lunch. This place will take you an hour and a half almost every time. But if you're looking for a place to sit with your friends and talk for a while before getting your meal then this is your place. They have really good pizza, and even better calzones. The serving staff is par for the course, but that doesn't mean much. If you're looking for a really good pizza or calzone and don't mind waiting then I'd highly recommend here. If you are in a hurry though Lupi's, which is really close, is a much better choice.

After checking the reviews here on Yelp, we decided to go to the mushroom today. I was pleasantly surprised when we were seated after only 15 minutes. We ordered Spinach Artichoke dip. It came out quickly and was very tasty. We were told that our pizza would take around 20-25 minutes to come out so we made ourselves at home. After about 15-20 minutes our waiter had already brought us our pie and comped our dip for taking so long. Service was great. The pricing wasn't too bad considering the size and mounds of toppings piled on the pizza. The only disappointment is that this location no longer has root beer on tap. They have the same stuff, but only in bottles. Bummer. All in all a great experience. Will definitely return!

Every time we visit my family Mellow Mushroom is on our list of must dos. We always get one of the many choices of draft beers, house salad and the house special pizza. The house special has every topping that you can think of on it and it is delicious. I strongly suggest for folks to go. Oh yeah, they have the best crust on any pizza that I have ever had. I usually dint ear the crust but not here. I wished we had a Mellow Mushroom near where I live in Maryland.

We love the Mushroom. I mean, it's a pizza place, so you kinda expect a noisy casual environment, and that's pretty much what you get. But the food is really good. We esp. love their red sauce, very flavorful and their sandwiches are really good, too, if someone prefers that rather than pizza. My husband is something of a pizza freak, and he loves it. Service could definitely be improved, though.

Good service, laid back atmosphere. There is a problem with cross contamination. I ordered the gluten free pizza and got full out gluten poisoning from it. If you are not going gluten free then it is a great place. For gluten free friends , STAY AWAY.

Very good pizza and very good selection of sandwitches. Best selection of on-tap beer in the whole area. They still allow smoking inside but I guess that will end on 9-1-2007 when the new smoking indoors law starts in Tennessee.

Pizza and beer. Great bar.

Went last night and in wasn't too happy. The staff wasn't friendly and the bar atmosphere was lame.

I'm giving this another star for the sole reason that management replied and sincerely want to know how to make people's experiences better. That speaks volumes. That is awesome.

I like this mellow mushroom more than the one in memphis. Excellent pizza and they're more generous with the toppings. Cool atmosphere, good location.

Now that I have tried Varasano's pizza and O4W pizza both in Atlanta, I prefer them over the Mello.

Sheila P.
Much better the second time around. My coworker and I both ordered a small but they gave us a medium size by accident and didn't charge us for the mistake. I tried their "bull dog" which was decent. This time around the crust was perfect so 1 out of 2.
(4)
Becca G.

Mellow Mushroom. Yep, good pizza. A busload of beers, kid friendly, always packed to the gills restaurant. They do their thang. I go participate occasionally.

(5)
Carolyn O.
(4)
Steven S.
Fun place, but limited food choices. Ended up getting my daughter food someplace else, but I enjoyed the good beer selection. The pizza dough pretzel is very delish!
(4)
Katherine T.
(4)
Brendan M.

(4)
Kat B.

Food excellent! Wait service great! Had a slight mic up in the kitchen with our order but the manager offered us a discount for our inconvenience! Thank you!

Good food and cool atmosphere. Good for the whole family. Huge selection of tap beers. Try the steak and cheese black and blue style.

New addition not designed for people without children. We were seated there last night even though there were plenty of open tables in the front of the restaurant. Hostess needs some training. No one waited on us so we moved to the bar
(2)
T D.
Great pizzas... but why is it always so slow?? I think it has something to do with the hostesses also being responsible for clearing the tables. There will often be 2 to 4 tables waiting to be cleaned off so that people can get seated.

Erica M.

I wished we had a Mellow Mushroom near where I live in Maryland.

used to go to mellow mushroom a lot, but have not been in years (since i moved to a place without one!). calzones are unbeatable. even better than i remember!

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

(5)Steven S.
Fun place, but limited food choices. Ended up getting my daughter food someplace else, but I enjoyed the good beer selection. The pizza dough pretzel is very delish!
(4)Katherine T.

(5)Sheila P.
Much better the second time around. My coworker and I both ordered a small but they gave us a medium size by accident and didn't charge us for the mistake. I tried their "bull dog" which was decent. This time around the crust was perfect so 1 out of 2.
(4)Becca G.
(4)Shaunte W.
All smiles.
(5)Jason H.
(2)Ryan B.
The food is great. The prices aren't.
(3)Dani M.
HORRIBLE tasting gluten-free pizza crust, and it made me sick. Def. had been glutenized somehow. I will not be going back!
(1)Sia G.
Mellow Mushroom. Yep, good pizza. A busload of beers, kid friendly, always packed to the gills restaurant. They do their thang. I go participate occasionally.
(3)Amber O.
(3)Jason L.
(2)nadine h.
(3)Destiny B.
(5)David M.
Great spot for pizza! My kids loved watching them make the pizza. The dough was great, and the server was attentive. I absolutely recommend this place.
(5)Steve N.
Very were told a 30 min wait but were seated after 10! Great beer selection and pizza was out of this world

(5)Joe C.
(4)Scott G.
(2)Robert S.
(5)Ashley S.
(3)Albert C.
Went last night and in wasn't too happy. The staff wasn't friendly and the bar atmosphere was lame.
(2)Fergie F.

(4)Tonya H.
Very nice. Our waitress was great very friendly and helpful. This was the bright spot of our Chattanooga trip. The wait for the food was kinda long but tasty. Parking sucks.
(4)Stephen F.
(4)Carolyn H.
(4)Jonathan G.
(2)Bailey P.
I like this mellow mushroom more than the one in memphis. Excellent pizza and they're more generous with the toppings. Cool atmosphere, good location.
(5)Rob M.
Now that I have tried Varasano's pizza and O4W pizza both in Atlanta, I prefer them over the Mello.
(4)Stefanie D.
The service was great. We were able to be seated, order and have our food quickly. Being gluten free and dairy free, I was excited to have a gluten free crust pizza with vegan cheese (something I can't get many places). It was one of the best gluten free, dairy free pizzas I've ever had.
(5)Holly W.
Great location right on Broad Street downtown. Excellent pizza! Very neat, eclectic atmosphere.
(4)Charles M.
(5)Gregg G.
Outstanding unique pizza combinations and great service! Wish they had Prosecco or at least Champaign.
(5)Leah G.
(5)Aaron S.
I do not have bad experiences here with food, service, or speed. The pizza is made to order and always tasty, the staff friendly, the ambience great. The men's room is a pit, though, so take care of business beforehand. Enjoy the beer, too, with a wide and varied draught selection.
(4)Rachel W.
(1)Zaldy Z.
(4)Scott M.
Pizza was awesome. But when you bring a pizza to the table, there is no reason for it not to be cut all the way through the crust. Fighting to get a slice to your plate because it's not cut properly is unnecessary. Again, pizza taste awesome.
(3)Crystal B.
Delicious food! We started with the mushroom soup, wow! Get some. For our meal we got the Philosopher's Pie. It was amazing! Service was great - We had Andy. Cool atmosphere. Next time we're in Chattanooga, we will come here. You should too.
(5)Charles J.
The pizza at the Downtown Mellow Mushroom is excellent. The draft beer is cold and tastes like the employees know how to clean and maintain a draft beer system.
(5)Robert T.
Every time we visit Chattanooga we visit this restaurant. We haven't always had the best experiences here, but last night our server was on top of it. Good service and the food came out fast and hot.
(5)Julie C.
(3)Anthony T.
Stopped by for lunch on my way to my meeting the sandwich I had was pretty good and the service was ok as well. The sandwich was priced high for what you get. Nine ($9) dollars for a sandwich and no fries or nothing. Yes, just for a sandwich and no sides.
(4)Chris G.
Fun for the entire family awaits at the downtown Mellow Mushroom. This location is often crowded with limited seating, but also offers outdoor seating on the street level. Ice cream shop just down the street. Overall great place for a casual meal or a group.
(5)L M.
(3)Doug B.
I always enjoy my visits here. I appreciate the vegan options; more than any non-vegan restaurant in town. My favorite is the Thai Dye pizza. There are also some good choices in the sandwiches and appetizers. Consistently friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere.
(5)Scott H.
Great pizza. The service was ok but left a little to be desired. However, the pizza was very good and I liked the atmosphere. Definitely pricey, but for an every now and then family treat it is worth the price. I would go back next time I am in Chattanooga.
(4)Patrick R.
Great pizza! I really like this location being downtown and all. Servers are friendly, service is great and the pizza is some of the best around. I really like Mellow Mushroom's dough.
(4)Erin D.
(1)Matt H.
Pizza is amazing. $1 wine is also amazing. highly reccomend the downtown location.
(5)Frank U.
(3)Tony H.
(5)Rob W.
Great food. Good service. Managers voice was kinda annoying but it was funny. Worth conning for the food. Plenty of seats and TVs everywhere. Out side is nice too
(4)Zach G.
2nd Best pizza in Chattavegas. Wonderful beer selection.
(5)Carolyn O.
(4)Brian L.
Have to get the pretzels as appetizers. Must have.
(5)Kyle B.
(3)Valerie T.
(3)Mardi L.
New addition not designed for people without children. We were seated there last night even though there were plenty of open tables in the front of the restaurant. Hostess needs some training. No one waited on us so we moved to the bar
(2)T D.
Great pizzas... but why is it always so slow?? I think it has something to do with the hostesses also being responsible for clearing the tables. There will often be 2 to 4 tables waiting to be cleaned off so that people can get seated.
(3)Brendan M.
(4)S W.
(4)Christina M.
(5)Sherry M.
Food excellent! Wait service great! Had a slight mic up in the kitchen with our order but the manager offered us a discount for our inconvenience! Thank you!

Good food and cool atmosphere. Good for the whole family. Huge selection of tap beers. Try the steak and cheese black and blue style.
(4)Tommy K.

The BBQ chicken pizza is incredible...

(5)eric p.
used to go to mellow mushroom a lot, but have not been in years (since i moved to a place without one!). calzones are unbeatable. even better than i remember!
(5)Teresa B.
(4)Jessica E.
Good service, laid back atmosphere. There is a problem with cross contamination. I ordered the gluten free pizza and got full out gluten poisoning from it. If you are not going gluten free then it is a great place. For gluten free friends , STAY AWAY.
(2)John T.
Very good pizza and very good selection of sandwitches. Best selection of on-tap beer in the whole area. They still allow smoking inside but I guess that will end on 9-1-2007 when the new smoking indoors law starts in Tennessee.
(4)A F.
Pizza and beer. Great bar.
(4)Robert S.
(5)Albert C.
Went last night and in wasn't too happy. The staff wasn't friendly and the bar atmosphere was lame.
(2)Fergie F.
I'm giving this another star for the sole reason that management replied and sincerely want to know how to make people's experiences better. That speaks volumes. That is awesome.
(4)Stephen F.
(4)Carolyn H.
(4)Joe C.
(4)Scott G.
(2)Jonathan G.
(2)David M.
Great spot for pizza! My kids loved watching them make the pizza. The dough was great, and the server was attentive. I absolutely recommend this place.
(5)Tonya H.
Very nice. Our waitress was great very friendly and helpful. This was the bright spot of our Chattanooga trip. The wait for the food was kinda long but tasty. Parking sucks.
(4)Steve N.
Very were told a 30 min wait but were seated after 10! Great beer selection and pizza was out of this world
(4)Carrie Neal W.
(5)Stephanie T.
(4)Bailey P.
(4)Brian L.
Have to get the pretzels as appetizers. Must have.
(5)Charles M.
(5)Gregg G.
Outstanding unique pizza combinations and great service! Wish they had Prosecco or at least Champaign.
(5)Leah G.
(1)Zaldy Z.
(5)Julie C.
(5)L M.
(4)Erin D.
(1)Matt H.
Pizza is amazing. $1 wine is also amazing. highly reccomend the downtown location.
(5)Frank U.
(3)nadine h.
(3)Destiny B.
(5)Tony H.
(5)Atlanta F.
Always consistent
(4)Rob W.
Great food. Good service. Managers voice was kinda annoying but it was funny. Worth conning for the food. Plenty of seats and TVs everywhere. Out side is nice too
(4)Zach G.
2nd Best pizza in Chattavegas. Wonderful beer selection.
(5)Amber O.
(3)Jason L.
(2)Katya L.
(5)Sheila P.
Much better the second time around. My coworker and I both ordered a small but they gave us a medium size by accident and didn't charge us for the mistake. I tried their "bull dog" which was decent. This time around the crust was perfect so 1 out of 2.
(4)Becca G.
(4)Shaunte W.
All smiles.
(5)Jason H.
(3)Michael C.
(5)Carolyn O.
(4)Steven S.
Fun place, but limited food choices. Ended up getting my daughter food someplace else, but I enjoyed the good beer selection. The pizza dough pretzel is very delish!
(4)Katherine T.
(4)Brendan M.
(4)S W.
(4)Hailey D.
(4)Kat B.
(2)Christina M.
(5)Sherry M.
Food excellent! Wait service great! Had a slight mic up in the kitchen with our order but the manager offered us a discount for our inconvenience! Thank you!
(5)Max P.
Good food and cool atmosphere. Good for the whole family. Huge selection of tap beers. Try the steak and cheese black and blue style.
(4)Kyle B.
(3)Valerie T.
(3)Erica M.
