Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

People may not realize that Charlie's is the oldest Pizza House in our state. Yup, the kitchen is at the door, and yup, the restrooms are so tiny you can wash your hands while sitting on the commode! However, they have made an effort to preserve it in its original state. Plan on a wait on a busy night, but it's worth the wait. In the meantime, talk to your family... Or make a game out of identifying all of the classic show biz stars in the mural in the back room. The pizza crust is to die for. The specialty pizza names are part of the ambience. The local service is charming and helpful.

Fantastic crust on their pizza. Interesting flavor options. I definitely recommend the John Wayne. VERY expensive for what you get, honestly. Service is decent, though the lady who I assume to be the owner is less than friendly or inviting. Give it a shot. It's generally a good experience and is a Yankton landmark.

This place used to have great pizza.

We go to Charlie's often when we visit our lake home. The salads are always fresh. It could be because the owner also runs the farmers market next door. The pizza is dependably good. It is a fun, busy place and good value for the money.

The kitchen is at the entrance doorway, WHO DOES THAT? Extremely expensive, food service ingredients, no fresh toppings or anchovies. Zero music or ambience. Service so slow when you order dinner it's time for breakfast. My blonde teen waitress, clearly related to management, was trying on her prom dress inbetween serving customers in the LADIES bathroom. The good news is there is an Arcade for the kids. Additionally when you want extra cheese THEY DO THIS RIGHT! Oh! Did I mention there is NO PARKING?

This is my go-to place for dinner after a fun day of fishing. I travel to Yankton frequently for the outdoor opportunities, and I've been to nearly all the places to eat in Yankton. I believe the ratings currently posted here are bit unfair. Before I get into the details of the restaurant, let me add this caveat; you are in Yankton, South Dakota, a town of about 15,000 people. The nearest "big" city is 70 or 80 miles away. These posted reviews would make complete sense if you are in Omaha or Kansas City. You will not find better pizza within one hours' drive; you will not find a better pizza place in Yankton for sure. They have an interesting menu of speciality pizzas that is very impressive in any company, and comparable to California Pizza Kitchen. They have a pizza called the Festus that I challenge you to try just for the novelty (Sourkraught, Jalapenos, Meatballs, sounds awful, taste original and delightful). My son loves Meat Combo (I forgot the name, sorry), and I have had several other speciality pizzas there, they have all been wonderful. For the last few years, they have had Fat Tire and Boulevard on tap as well domestics, so Charlie's get a + for having good beer and good pizza. Of course, this is a mom-and-pop kind of place, so there isn't some swarmy manager to come by and bother you twice a meal. I hate the modern chain restaurant service schemes, everybody in those places has been trained to look and behave exactly the same. Again, Charlie's isn't that place, and I don't want it to be that place. The service is fine, not great, not terrible; it is true that you shouldn't be in a hurry if you stop by, but they have TV and an old-school arcade for the kids. Finally, the prices are a bit on the high side, compared to competitors (and yes, I'll concede, the kitchen at the entrance is ...different). But if you are in Yankton, you will notice something; the small parking lot at Charlie's is full nearly every night. The locals go here, and you should too!

Pizza is amazing but very expensive. The lines are often long and hours of operation short. Some staff are rude, but others very nice. Great pizza if you are not in a hurry and get there early.

The pizza tastes great but the restaurant does have it's flaws. The prices are sky high for this type of community and the wait for the pizza is about an hour, so if you have kids, it does get to be long. The pizz tastes great.
