Great salad for the price and a quick meal. There's no other place that sells better salads in a casual restaurant in Sioux Falls, SD! Go there.

I like mixed greens for a few reasons. For starters there are not many places around Sioux Falls that serves salads and wraps in such manner. Second their quality of food is very high. As someone who is trying to eat healthy with low carbs and high protein this is a fantastic place to go. I had their "super salad" which was a very generous portion of romaine and spinach along with 5 toppings consisting of chicken, egg, onions, jalapeños, and shredded parmesan. It was fantastic and definitely filled me up. The staff was very friendly and my only single small issue was that it took longer than expected to get our food. It was busy with 4 people ahead of me and there were two workers; but compared to how long I've waited in other eating establishments it was a breeze. I have visited three times and have been impressed with each visit. I think a second location on the east side would be amazing for people who don't like taking Louise due to traffic. Right next to the Target is a building that would be perfect! Highly recommended!

I expected a vegan friendly place out of a salad bar. Not exactly. Employees were ill equipped to answer basic question about what is and is not vegan. Then, they chop your salad at the end of your ordering and before I could stop them they were chopping with blades that clearly had cheese on them. This after I informed them three times that I was vegan. It's better than nothing in meat obsessed South Dakota. It would be a lot better if employees were knowledgable about veganism and if they had more vegan dressing and bread options.

This is a great stop for a quick, healthy meal. They serve salads, wraps, paninis, and soups. I chose a build-your-own turkey wrap. There was a good variety of fresh ingredients from which to pick. The wrap came with my choice of chips, bread stick, or pickle. The wrap was generously sized, and delicious. I like that they mixed the dressing of my choice in with the other ingredients to evenly spread the flavor. The employees were helpful, and friendly, while the interior was very clean.

Well, having not received any sort of response from the Mixed corporate site about my inquiry, I feel it is appropriate to share my findings with the community. I run a weight loss site, and ate at Mixed multiple times within a short period of time for the purpose of reviewing their establishment on my site, and highlighting it as an example of delicious, healthy eating while out and about. Here's the thing. Their salads are DELICIOUS. I fell in love in particular with the Caribbean Crunch salad, which tastes incredibly fresh and satisfies my sweet tooth. Now, before I review a place, I like to rate the value of food by comparing the cost / ease of making it at home versus the cost and ease of going out. So I decided that making a Caribbean Crunch salad at home. It seemed simple enough, since literally all the ingredients were listed on the menu, and it isn't like other restaurants where the magic is in the prep. I can assemble a salad at home. Now, as a calorie counter, I read and compare food labels. For the home edition, I chose the lowest calorie everything. I also must approximate the amounts of different items used, but after a year of measuring out my own portion sizes, I know what the visual difference is between a 1/4 cup and 1/2 cup, etc. But what I discovered SHOCKED me. I expect there to be deviations between calorie counts. Actually, I tend to be able to make things for fewer calories at home. But in the case of Mixed, my home version (which omitted both the cinnamon sugar and the dressing, mind you, as I am pretty sure their stated calorie counts do not include the dressing) was almost DOUBLE the stated calories of the salad at Mixed. How is this even possible? I understand some deviation based on brands, but almost double the stated calories... of a salad? Something is fishy, and it's not just the shrimp that other reviewers here have mentioned. I believe they are grossly misrepresenting their calorie counts in order to appear healthier than they are. I believe they are selling this overly-sugary salad with a wildly inaccurate calorie count. I have given Mixed the opportunity to privately share with me how they settled on their calorie counts, but no response has been forthcoming. Calorie counters, beware!

As a visitor to Sioux Falls from Los Angeles, I was so excited for a fast, healthy option. While everyone was very friendly, the product and atmosphere was really disappointing. I would imagine that a salad restaurant would have kale, but sadly only very yellow/white iceberg, some mixed greens, and decent spinach. I ordered the Coastal Salad, which promised Albacore Tuna and Teriyaki Shrimp. After I asked more than a few times not to chop it, but just to toss it, he got the idea. Unfortunately I had to exchange my salad for a simple Caesar, as the teriyaki shrimp was an opaque brown, signaling that it had probably been sitting in its marinade for a few days. Everyone was very friendly and seemed enthusiastic, but the establishment needs to spend a couple dollars on some fresh ingredients and hop on the Kale train.

I appreciate their concern for gluten free items and their environmentally friendly policies. I ordered a panini and soup and I thought the panini was wimpy. It is a better value to go to Panera and order their combos.

OK, this place gets 5 stars for the simple fact that they serve green food. I do mean lettuce. Mixed green mix, spinach, romaine, and I think there was iceberg, but I don't know because I consider that cabbage. They have a large variety of types of suggested salads or you can make your own. They also do salad wrap sandwiches & panini's. They have at least 12 different dressings and make suggestions based upon what type of salad you ordered. They do 2 sizes of salad bowls, I got the smaller and it was the perfect amount. My only regret was that they chopped my salad a bit much. I prefer a tossed salad as opposed to a chopped one, but my mistake since I didn't request them to just toss it. A great franchise in the market of bad, junk food. I applaud their ingenious idea and hope they do well. Support healthy food and go here. P.S. The chicken they use is free range, non RBST and no antibiotics.

One thing that this restaurant has right is location. They are located by many fitness and healthy lifestyle establishments. I guess I had high expectations for this place. Decided to try it out and found out the serving sizes are tiny. I am used to going to Natural Cafe in CA and getting a giant salad for the same price I got an appetizer here. Really, how much does a bundle of Spinach cost? $1.50?! After the $10 appetizer, I jumped off the healthy wagon and headed to Buffalo Wild Wings across the street to grab more food. Chicken is high in protein at least...

I adore this place. I always get the 1/2 salad and 1/2 panini option. Their paninis remind me of the ones I had in Europe! I agree with the other reviewer that more vegetarian proteins would be nice. However, the wide range of dressings and vegetables more than makes up for it.

Neat concept. Fresh food and prompt courteous service. Mama would be proud I ate my greens at this place today.

Do not go there if you are looking for gluten free. The staff isn't trained on cross contamination. The ingredients are separate but everything is STILL CHOPPED on the same cutting board with the same chopper that has been used for non-gluten free ingredients. Moreover, when my wife and I are there, their salad shrimp smelled and tasted extremely fishy, a sign that it has been held over past its use date. The staff needs training!

I love the idea, build your own salads, add exactly what you want to taste. Very fresh and the salads are always what draws me back. We have been here at least 10 times since its opened and will still come back as a healthy option in our area. However, the paninis arent the greatest on the menu but if you build your own their ok. Very dissapointed by the service 90% of the time. I feel like i am bothering the staff every time I visit (and i am a very friendly customer who has been in the restaurant industry for years). Just wish they were more friendly and welcoming, good thing the food outshines the help!

Was in town and wanting a "green" place to eat and searched on yelp and found Mixed. Would have liked to see a more quality selection of deli meats, the roast beef looked as though it was ran over several times. I choose to pick all veggie ingredients. My husband also had a build your own panini. We paid and was told it would be brought out to us. 5 minutes went by and then 10 and panins were still in oven after 15 minutes my husband went and asked about them and an employee took them out and brought them to our table. The bread was rock hard from being in so long and when we asked if this how they should be this employee walked away and told someone else to come talk to us. This other employee told us things like this happen when we get busy and pointed to the line Of 5 people. So we said, so your quality goes down when your busy? She said no but basically it was a yes. Nothing was made better and she walked away and other employees turned around to glare at us like we had done something wrong. When $15 is paid for 2 small and not of quality ingredients we have the right to voice our opinion but at this place it seems customers are not always right. Will not return or recommend and if 0 stars could be given its what they deserve. Regarding the comment where the yelper stated the panini's reminded her of Europe...I have no idea what part of Europe she is taking about but I have been to Europe and panini's of such low quality like at Mixed would never be served in Switzerland, Italy or Austria.

Loved it. After weeks on the road with fried everything and nary an uncooked veg in sight--what joy to find fresh veg! Come to city of Chicago!

Even though I enjoyed my veggie salad I'm only giving three stars because it wasn't as vegetarian as a sustainable restaurant should be. C'mon Mixed.. don't be scared of tofu! or tempeh! or black beans! If you were as "green" as you advertise, you would offer less meat and more creative veggie options. Raising animals for meat creates a lot of pollution. Also, I ordered my veggie salad before my man ordered his chicken salad.. but the employee chose to handle the meat first and then make my salad. I know it's just a small thing, but vegetarians notice that! I guess I was just hoping Mixed was more conscious of the vegetarians/vegans in this town because those are the people that would enter a place like this. Also, indicating which dressings are vegetarian would be helpful too. There's my rant..

Mixed is an excellent, quick restaurant! I love going in the evenings for dinner and receiving double punches for my purchase. My favorite salad is the Hot Harvest, I hardly order anything else because it's so good. I have been very please with the paninis as well!

Any time I'm hungry for a salad, this is the first place I think of. Lots of choices, reasonably priced, convenient location. Always have a good salad, no matter what I order.
