Stopped by for breakfast while riding the Black Hills during Sturgis week. The food was good, the service was quick, and the restaurant was clean. I had the Sausage Gravy Biscuits which were good, not great. My wife ate the scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and toast. She likes her bacon crispy and they did not disappoint when she ordered it that way.

I was out in the Black Hills on vacation so one evening, I stopped in for dinner. Nice place. Kinda plain inside and the booth tables are really high compare to the seats. I felt like a 10 yr old at the dinner table. =) I had their 1/3 lb burger w/ bacon. Freaking delicious!!! The fries are tasty as well. I had a bite of the bison burger and those bisons are yummy. It kinda figures I was admiring the bisons in Custer State Park one day and then eating one another day. =) The waitress was really nice too!

We received free coupons for breakfast here from our hotel. Two eggs, hash browns, toast and choice of breakfast meats. Pretty tough to bitch about that. Can't speak to the other fare but our breakfasts were pretty good.

After a long day doing the 1880s train in Hill City, we opted for a simpler dinner. We decided to try the Wrangler in that it would be cheaper and closer to our motel. Also, we already had planned on doing dessert at the Purple Pie Place and didn't want too big of a meal. We chose great for our dinner meal. Now, before I get into the experience, the Wrangler is simply a modern American diner. That's it. However, we found their service and execution was just right on. My daughter ordered their beer batter onion rings and a side salad. The onion rings were perfect, not too greasy/soggy, tender and sweet, though her salad looked like a typical iceberg-o-rama with the carrot/purple cabbage shred. My son fell back on his usual grilled cheese with fries and thoroughly enjoyed it. To my eyes (sorry I didn't try it) it looked perfectly cooked. My wife opted for the county fried steak and was impressed. Crispy and light batter, steak tender enough to cut with a fork, and smothered in a peppery, smooth cream gravy. One note, it was a monster portion. She only ate half. She chose the vegetable side of steamed green beans, which were not too soggy. For my meal I went with the soup of the day, chicken tortilla soup. It was pretty tasty though I've had better. They also said it was a bit spicy but it wasn't to me. I guess it was spicy for South Dakota tastes? For my meal I went with a buffalo burger which was pretty good. I'm not sure what it is but in South Dakota I seem to have this strange pull to order buffalo every meal. We skipped dessert due to our Purple Pie Place plans. Service was friendly and timely. Really, you can't ask for much more given the price and nature of the place.

I loved the Wrangler Cafe. Our hotel offered a discounted breakfast to be redeemed at the Wrangler Cafe. We had a traditional breakfast, nothing fancy just eggs, toast, bacon and hashbrowns. The coffee and meal were hot, not much to complain about. Everyones eggs were cooked just as they asked and the staff was friendly...well some more than others. I'd go back for sure.

Breakfast voucher thru Chief Motel was $1.99 for two eggs, toast/pancakes, ham, bacon or ham. Food was freshly prepared and quite tasty. Service was very good too. Would return.

The food price has gone up and the quality has gone down. They are only open until 3pm. I like the location and we have been going there forever otherwise I would only go for quick cheap breakfasts.

This place hit the spot. Friendly, courteous service. The bison burger smothered in bison chili was delicious - flavorful and not too spicy. The chef salad was huge and tasty. Restaurant was clean, bright, and great little place for lunch. (There is a "For Sale" sign in the front window.)

Outstanding buffalo burgers! Stopped here several times over the years, and I will continue to do so whenever I am back. The buffalo burgers are the only thing I want, and they are incredible! They used to have waffle fries which I loved, but they do have curly fries now which are almost as great. Staff is friendly, prices are low, and the place is clean--but did I mention the buffalo burgers?!

Just really bad. Minimal selection, dry eggs, pancakes that could suck the Log Cabin factory dry, overworked servers ... just really bad.

Great place to stop in and eat! $3 beers, I'm a vegetarian so I asked them to accomodate me with a grilled cheese (only on the kids menu) and the waitress happily did. The grilled cheese was great, made with cheddar. My husband got the open-faced turkey. He said it was just what he wanted, great comfort food. Definitely a local place, the staff knew everyone by their first name. Very easy going, very very affordable (lunch was $22 with a beer), definitely would recommend this to everyone. Really nice to eat so affordably after spending a grip of cash on entrance fees to all the parks!!
