Very clean and nice staff. I use their belly rewards program to save money on my orders. Their Greek chicken lemon soup and their chicken salad sandwich is to die for! If you don't want the bread they can give u the chicken salad and tomato and lettuce without the bread. Just in general a great place with tons of different options. Don't be shy to sample their soups they are more than willing to help you find which one you would like to order.

Perfect lunch spot. Instead of eating the regular fast food crap that makes you slip into that afternoon coma, go to Ladles. They have really good soup, salads and sandwiches that will give you the boost to make it through the rest of your day. I have tried a few different options, but my favorites are the Greek salad, buffalo chicken soup and club sandwich. The service is always above average and I can normally get in and out pretty quickly.

I love that the menu is always adding new items and how you can sample any (or all) the soups before you order. When i still ate seafood, they had the best she-crab soup, but they also always have multiple vegetarian options, both for soups and sandwiches. I will usually get a full soup and a full sandwich because the little side soup just isn't enough, which is how it can get a little pricey, but the food is worth it.

This Ladles is close to my house, and when I found myself working from home today and starving around 2, I decided to check it out! I'd been hesitant b/c after half a dozen trips to the Mt. Pleasant location near my office, I found the soups watery and always left disappointed. Needless to say, that wasn't the case today. I ordered the loaded potato with the cheese and bacon toppings, no chives by request. It was not watery at all. Thick with large chunks of potatoes, not a lot of them, but really large one's! And I tasted and smelled a strong herb. Not 100% but it seemed like they used rosemary or sage in the stock maybe. I don't know, but it was flavorful. Offering one of my favorite things for lunch, a half and half special, I of coarse ordered that and got their club on Texas toast as the sandwich half. It was fresh and tasty. I'd have preferred the bread have been toasted and buttered, instead of cold and dry. Something to remember for next visit b/c I'm sure if I'd have asked, they would have done that for me.

Love this place! Love the Ladles Grilled Cheese on texas toast! I mentioned how much I liked their Yankee Corn Chowder to my husband while we were waiting for our order, the manager/owner (not sure which) overheard me and asked what day I would like it and she would make it their soup of the day. And she did! Great place!!

I am visiting from out of town. This restaurant was recommended. Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience. I ordered a half sandwich and half soup. After 30 minutes, I received a full soup. At that point I realized I paid for and was going to receive a full sandwich and full soup. 15 minutes later, I was told they were out of bacon for the sandwich I ordered 45 minutes earlier. I indicated I was no longer interested in a sandwich and would like to get a refund for the cost of the sandwich. The lady told me she could not give me a refund. Since I did not want to be stuck paying for a sandwich they could not provide, I ordered a different sandwich. Having a no refund policy without notifying the customer prior to ordering is unacceptable. I will never return and I recommend no one patronize this business. The service was slow, the food was just okay, and customer service was unacceptable.

Came here out of the blue with a friend one day, ordered the baked potato soup, and it was AMAZING. So fresh and the potato pieces were perfect chunky size. Their baked potato soup was also the only thing I ever ate when I would get sick. So delicious. The atmosphere was nice and the staff is kind.

It's very close to our house, and my husband loves the broccoli cheddar soup. I got the grilled cheese specialty with pesto. It was only ok because the bread was SO soggy I couldn't really enjoy the sandwich. I'll go back and hope for better. Unfortunately they were out of the broccoli cheddar when I went so I got the potato and it wasn't my favorite.

Excellent variety of soups. All made fresh. Sandwiches are all fresh. You'll love this place!!

Wonderful place but not as good as the Summerville location downtown. And they were out of avocado the day I went in :/

I love all their soups so far!! Broccoli cheddar being my favorite! Although last time the broccoli was slightly underdone and too chunky for my liking. I have also noticed that the consistency of the soups seem to change slightly, possibly depending on who's in the kitchen. Other than that I've been pleased every time!

If your on the hunt for some good homemade soup this is your place. They always have a monthly soup special. My favorite is the lemongrass chicken and I always get a quart to go if they have it that month. If you don't like soup that much, they also have salads and sandwiches. But make sure you get there early enough for lunch since they get pretty busy and it seems like there is only one person working the kitchen. Very good place if you are in the mood for soup!

I had wanted to check out Ladles for a while, but it has the misfortune of being in the same little plaza as Steel City Pizza. It's hard for me to turn down pizza and beer, but a 40 minute wait one Friday night made me do just that. Ladles finally won, and I'm glad it did. It was a cold night, and they had just what was needed. I had the special soup of the month, Chicken Thai Curry, with a caprese sub. My wife had a very creamy tomato soup with a meatloaf melt. We both highly enjoyed our meals. The soups were hot and bursting with flavor. Mine had the perfect amount of spice and bite to it for the cold weather. The sandwich tasted nice and fresh. The only downfall for me is that soup and a sandwich isn't a very filling meal. Especially not for dinner. I think I'd rather go back for lunch next time because I will most definitely be returning. The staff are laid back and really friendly. They have a healthy selection of soups that blow anything you've ever tasted from Campbell's or Progresso away. You can walk in and sample anything they've got to help decide. There aren't any soup Nazis working there that's for sure!

On January 24, 2015 at approximately 1213 hours I, Dante G., responded to Ladles located at 8600 Dorchester Road, which is in the city of North Charleston, in reference to lunch. I was initially en route to assist another in moving at 1300. At approximately 1201 hours I realized I was early. Daylight Savings Time is a bitch. I made entry into the business via the door located in the center of the A Side of the building. The full glass front allowing a view inside the businesses, making my CPTED OCD very happy. I ordered a half and half going for the Tomato Basil and grilled cheese. Being somewhat cold and overcast (51° F/ 1°C, partly cloudy, 70% precipitation, and 33 mph wind), it seemed like a logical choice. I entered the line that only included one couple. My order number was 25. I had an unusual urge to do push ups. I didn't. I sat at a four top round table along the D side interior of the business, closer to the register than the A side. I drank what I thought was sweet tea. It was not. In the A-B interior corner sat a male white. He had reddish, more brown, hair and was clad in khaki pants, a plaid shirt, and a light grey driver's cap. He had, but was not wearing a black leather jacket. He wears glasses. Possibly a local college instructor. He has a friend who just moved to town and is getting married. She went to Georgetown and George Washington. He also is a Cigar Snob. He dominated the conversation. He sat with an older male white, gray hair, black rain jacket, black slacks, and black sneakers. The khaki man is possibly a veteran recently departed from the service. He speaks slightly too loud for indoor, private conversation. The soup arrived and was piping hot. The taste was excellent. Creamy with chucks of tomato. The grilled cheese was, well, a grilled cheese. Not a triple decker, but definitely a contender for BEST. They use two pieces of cheese, o e atop the other. I do question supplying a knife, though. What soup do you have to cut?

She - Crab soup is legit! And always available! It's hard to be enthusiastic about soup, but I'm a huge fan of FLAVOR. That said, I'm impressed! I had the "Ladles Grilled Cheese" and yeah, it's worth it. I'll be back!

Once again I'm so impressed! Had the Tomato Blue over pasta and the Monte Cubano. The soup is just bursting with flavor. The sandwich o the sandwich! Ham, Swiss, pickles spicy whole grain mustard on a panini. Just amazing!
