One of the best most friendly restaurants around. Food is almost gourmet and they have craft beers on tap. All of the sauces are great. Try the Mac and cheese or Italian egg rolls!

I have been here 2 times now. Both times I have had the social grill burger. This burger patty is very fresh and juicy and I love the jalapeño pimento sauce that they put on it. I have also tried their jalapeño pimento dip. The first time I tried it it was very good and creamy. The second time I tried this dip it tasted pretty salty maybe as if it wasn't stirred or something. All in all its close to me and it's not a bad place to grab a decent burger.

First time here. Came on a Sunday afternoon so it was a little slow. Has a slightly upscale feel but it's a casual bar. Great craft beers on tap and a very diverse menu. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger which was full of flavor. It came out very fast and was cooked the way I requested. Also had an appetizer of the stuffed fried green tomatoes, which were awesome, and I hate tomatoes. Will definitely be back to try other menu items.

Food was pretty good. Burger was great, chicken salad had a lot of mayo. The kitchen is really slow.

Maybe if you're drunk or have no taste buds this place is good. Italian egg rolls. Raw on inside. Wing chips. harder than rocks. Macaroni and cheese. Old tasting with some funky off ingredients. Tastes old. Wings were old tasting. Everything has a frozen, not quite unthawed and cooked way too quickly with too hot of grease taste. Horrible seasonings on the fries that make you choke. Why I didn't send it back is beyond me. Sick on my stomach now. Raw egg rolls are likely the culprit. Our waiter was good. I hope when this place closes, which it will, he can find a good job.

Not your average bar food is correct. We ate there on a Tuesday for lunch, the salads were $2 off for lunch that day. The Social Salad with chicken was great, a little small, but filling enough and tasty beyond my expectations (blue cheese dressing on the side was my choice). I commend the kitchen staff, they must have a real chef. The hamburger which I had half (my friend shared) was outstanding, maybe the best burger I have had all year. Even the bun was good. If I lived in Ballentine I would eat a salad or burger here once a week. The booth gave good privacy as well. It is a big place, not very busy for lunch. Staff was friendly and helpful. I give them an "A" . Service was reasonably fast as well.

Not your average "bar food"! Great prime rib, macaroni and cheese and grilled chicken. Can't wait to go back! We thought the egg rolls were really good! Courtney, our server, was awesome!

Everytime I've come here the food is way above average. The bartenders are always attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is very, well social. I've also spoken to the owner quite a few times and he seems to really care about his business and the customers, I guess that shows too because he has been there actively involved in the workings of the restaurant every time I've gone. If your looking for a decent brew and great food to watch the game over, this spot is a gem.

2nd time for Sunday breakfast/brunch inside and once prior for dinner on patio. Food good, ample and prices OK. Only setback is once ordered, food takes way too long to be served. Not sure if kitchen is understaffed or what.

Joined a birthday party of 20 for my first attempt here. The parking lot was full which is always a sign of a good restaurant. Was surprise how big the layout was once inside. The staff and owners were very attentive and friendly. The layout was upscale and cozy combined. Family-friendly yet with a nice pub twist. Also includes a nice outdoor patio perfect for a band or enjoy the nice weather. The menu includes a lot of options but was impressed to see shepherds pie included. Our appetizer jalapeño pimento cheese dip was great. The fried ravioli was an equal. My Ahi tuna salad was huge. But the show stopper for me was the pork ribeye. Which I already want again, comes with two sides. And I nailed it with the jalapeno cheese grits and fries (which seemed to have an awesome baked bacon favor). MoMo's prime rib was big delicious and flavorful. SC also has a nice size room for after diner drinks as well. And includes a wide range of options from popular drafts, nice wine list, to top shelf liquor. I will definitely return and this is the reason Yelp was made. To spread the good word..

We have eaten here quite a few times. The service is always excellent! They have good beer on draft. Specials. But the food is just okay unfortunately, otherwise it would be a solid 4. I realize it can't be helped but I feel like my food shouldn't taste like it is a freezer entree. Some of the items are of this nature. However, the social does have good salads.

Service is good, not great. Food is overpriced. Especially the appetizers! $7 for 4 "stuffed" tomato slices is ridiculous!!! Average table of four everyone gets one bite.

Great craft beers! We decided to have a beer on New Years Eve ,, we went early before everyone else was out celebrating. Wait staff was nice, food was good, beer was excellent! We will be going back.

It's was the only place open on Sunday. It took forever that is time I will never ever get back.

We have ordered the seafood specials, burgers and wings. Everything has been above average. They have a great selection of beer. I like wine, but they have little to offer if you enjoy a nice Chardonnay. Would love to see more options. The wait staff are great and strive to please. The back portion of the restaurant is NOT where you want to eat. The bar area and covered outdoor area is the place to be. This establishment provides live music and really good bands. So here is my only complaint...nasty cigarette smoke!!! The bar is smoke-free but you can't hear the music inside. If you want to hear the band, you will have to sit outdoors and your hair and clothing will smell disgusting. Enjoyed the band tonight but would have enjoyed it much more with clean air. Get real people...we know the damage cigarettes causes!

Man, I was suuuper skeptical about this place due to the location, but my wife talked me into trying it and it's pretty good. We've been a couple of times now. Once with the family in the day time, and food from the bar at night another. I don't have any complaints about the food other than the fact that it seems just a little pricey for what it is. The service is on point -- hostess, waitstaff, and bartenders have all been extremely friendly and competent on each visit.

Hello people! its Chapin / Ballentine area.. we are congested with a bunch of crappy Mexican restaurants.. Social is a a diamond waiting to be found! The atmosphere is awesome.. live bands.. big bar section, outside patio or inside nice dining. what more could you ask for?? oh good food , a decent menu? well they have that as well! I was very impressed with their menu and the wide variety from steaks to seafood, to burgers to gourmet sandwiches. A full bar...The dressings are homemade and a lot of the food seems to meet culinary tastes. Do yourself a favor and try Social out!

Went on a Sunday night, waitress was in super slow motion the entire time. Total of 6 customers in entire restaurant and we had to wait quite some time for our food. I had the Shepherds Pie. Will NOT be having that again. I was born-and-raised in Ballentine so I've got my hopes up (hence 2 stars instead of 1) that they figure it out. MIGHT try it again some day.

Great food! Slightly fancier menu. They got us in right away for a party of eight. The service was a little slow but the staff was very friendly and polite.

This was our first visit to the Social Grill, upon walking in, the bar and patio was packed which immediately looked like a good sign. However when the waitress told us they were both full and took us to the dark quiet isolated dining room I felt immediately disappointed and like I was missing out on the fun. The waitress was quick to arrive and pleasant, they had a very nice beer selection both domestic and craft. We ordered the social grill burger and fries that were both quite excellent however the ahi tuna wrap and extremely undercooked jalapeño grits left much to be desired. I would go back for the burger but only if I could sit in the bar or patio, it almost seemed like 2 different restaurants.

Been to this place two times. Great location, very good menu, good pricing. Food very good. Awesome appetizers, great burgers, and nice bar selection with an outdoor area and live music. First visit was excellent, second visit just OK. Still working the bugs out here. Hope they get it together as Ballentine can really use a good restaurant in this location. Staff was friendly. Jury still out on this place but will try again. Will update my status

Came for Wing Night. The first wings were so burned we sent them back. The second wings were raw and tasteless . I am 65 years old and have been disappointed many times in restaurants. The Social Grill set a new low. I would rather eat a boloney sandwich on stale bread and throw my $25 out of the car window than go back..

My wife and I have been here twice this week and we love it. For our first trip I had the fish and chips and my wife had the social burger and they were both great. This trip my wife had the shrimp and grits and I had the grilled chicken sandwich, again both were great. Both trips everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Service was friendly and nice. I'm so happy this place opened, there is really only fast food around us here and driving into harbison to eat on a Friday night is always a nightmare. We are also going the try the brunch that they have this Sunday so I'll update once we try that out.
