Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Such yummy pizza! I absolutely loved it - I'm a Southerner who has actually been living and working in New York for the past few months and was in Charleston on vacation when I passed by this place and had two slices of cheese pizza. I wish Sabatino's was in Manhattan because this is as good as it gets!!

Pizza was dripping in grease from the cheap cheese and peperoni and we were over charged. NOT the best pizza in Charleston as advertised. Charged 18% gratuity even though it is not a full service/really any service by a waiter.

Great pizza, true ny taste. I would def recommend this place to everyone in Charleston

If you like NY style pizza, this is the place to go.

The Best NY Pizza I've ever had....The product is the best...Period.. Oh wait a minute....Recently had DeSano's....both are great. and LaPizzeria....

I'm a fan. We ordered a 14" pepperoni and cheese online for delivery. They quoted 50 mins to an hour for delivery, but it arrived in about 40 minutes. It wasn't hot at that time, but it was still warm enough (optimum eating temperature). They use a delivery service called QuickFoxes to deliver. I thought the pizza was great and what I expected.... thin NY style slices.

The best pizza I've ever had! I recently moved away from Charleston, but still crave Sabatino's! It's not cheap, but the taste is great and the folks that work there really nice. The location is kind of hard to see (which keeps all the tourists out), but it's a real college favorite.

If you are super drunk at 2 a.m. then by all means, this is the place for you. If you actually want pizza that tastes like pizza, then go anywhere else. We were trying to decide between trying Sabatino's /supporting a local company and Dominos (our favorite pizza place Mia Pomodori just recently closed). Even though the cost of Sabatino's was significantly higher we went ahead and tried it. Unfortunately, an hour and 25 minutes later we had to call them to see if it was even still coming. Once it did arrive we were handed cold pizza that had no flavor at all other than grease. Had we ordered dominoes we would have eaten an hour earlier, paid less, and actually had a better quality, better tasting dinner.

The pizza was totally decent and my calzone was really good. The reason my review is one star is that it took over two hours for the delivery after we had been told it would be an hour. My girlfriend and I had given up and gone to bed and were literally mid-coitus when the food finally arrived.

This place is atrocious. Late night pizza should take 5 mins tops. This place quotes 45 mins with barely any line. Their biz model is severely lacking of any intelligence. Just lost a customer.

If you need something quick around the junction of Calhoun Street and King Street, you can definitely drop by to this place!

I'm from NY and let me tell you that this is the BEST pizza in Charleston! It's a little hole in the wall, parking is terrible, but the pizza is so totally worth it. I drive all the way from Summerville to get my fix. The usually have a deal 2 slices of cheese for $5. And when you are done with your crazy amazing pizza, try the cannoli. It's amazeballs. I don't know why the one reviewer said that the pizza is greasy because of inferior ingredients, clearly they have never had peperoni before. It's full of fat and when they bake the pizza, the fat is released. Real NY pizza is greasy. Take a napkin and blot it off. Problem solved. Now get off your butt and get to Sabatinos! Behind the Moe's on the corner of King and Calhoun. Go. Go NOW!!!

Sabatino's has some really good pizza and they are open really late. If you are pulling a late night on King St and are feeling hungry, this is your place! They sell pizza by the slice and have great deals. Although it's not my favorite pizza place in Charleston it is right up at the top.
(4)Marisa H.
Solid NY style pizza. No frills spot but gets the job done and satisfies the craving.
(4)Mike M.
In town from L.A. for a business conference. Saw Sabatino's from the hotel window and it triggered a craving. Walked across the street to give it a try. AMAZING! I've got to say it was by far the best NY style pizza I've ever had. Perfectly crispy thin crust with excellent foldability. Had to force myself to not eat the whole pie. Mike M. La Habra, CA

Girlfriend and myself went, I got a sub and she got two slices. The two slices of pizza were huge and she couldn't finish it by herself. And the subs tasted great! Good lunch deals would definitely recommend. Only knock on this place is that they had no forks at the time. EDIT: The next day after eating at this place I got food poisoning, and I assume this is the place I got it because my girlfriend and I shared all other food we are that day besides here. Pizza was great, don't get the sandwiches
(3)Casey B.
Hands down, the worst pizza I've ever had. Zero flavor and no sauce. This is only the second time I've ever used Yelp and I'm really sorry, but, it was awful. Even my husband didn't like it and he'll eat anything!

If you are longing for NY pizza and you are in the South then Sabatino's is the place for you. I am a Californian who loves me some NY pizza and this place hits the spot. Do I miss crazy toppings that are indicative of California style pizza? Yes, but NY pizza has its charms. I went in and spoke with the owner and he was nice that made me believe in this place outside of just great food. This is the place everyone who is going out drinking talks about. I found myself across the street from this place around 7:00pm and strolled on in. I have tried other pizza places and they just do compare. I can name other places on the same street that are good but greasy and scalding hot. Now I think the prices are little high in comparison to places I have known in other cities, but hey lots of options usually drives prices down. I have never gone here when all the drunkards are out and crowding this place so understand the experiences may be different given the time of day you go. When I went it was near empty. I got 2 slices of pepperoni pizza and garlic knots and they were good. They were pepperoni on slices with sauce. If you want cheese that is a different topping. Trust me, I liked it as they are. The garlic knots are really garlicly and I love that This isn't a place where you go after a kick ball game with your friends and get drinks and pizza. They are too small for that. This is the place you order from or get slices from. I would honestly like to give this place more then 4 stars and would give them a 4.5 if I could. What is holding them back is things they cannot really control. They don't have the space to breed that place that you go. In terms of quick pizza places then it is a 5. Yelp should be out of 10 points, but that is a different story. If you love NY pizza and are in Charleston, go here.
(4)Jordan D.
Very solid New York style pizza. Great for a quick lunch or a late night post bar crawl meal. The place is pretty small but the staff is friendly and there is more than enough room for you to grab a quick bite. I will be returning here in the near future.
(4)Brinaldo C.
Amazing authentic New York style pizza, bringing a piece of home to all yankee students and carpet baggers haha God Bless

I wish I could give less than one star we ordered pizza on a Saturday night - it took 10 minutes to place an order. Then - we were quoted a 30 min delivery time and 1 hour later I called for the status. They lost my order and we're not apologetic. Then I called again at 1 am and saif the delivery was leaving and guess what - it never showed up! They took my credit card information as well. Also what kind of late night pizza place doesn't have breadsticks?? Ugh. So upset.

No clue where or what year the photos of the slices depicted were taken but they have little relevance to what I was served tonight at Sabatino's Pizza. Don't say NY style when your not, because it offends the New Yorker greatly. I have probably eaten 10,000 or more slices of Pizza in my time here on Earth and don't think I have ever seen less cheese on a slice of pizza anywhere. They have this big bin of Mozzarella sitting there and you look at the slices and start scratching your head wondering if the bin of Mozzarella is a year's supply. They don't put corn meal on the bottom of a slice in NY either. You are basically paying $3 a slice for a thin layer of zero flavor crust with no cheese and very little low quality sauce. The good news is if you are lactose intolerant you will be 100% fine here. If you ever wondered why places like Domino's stay in business, here is your answer. I don't even think this would be appealing if I was on day 20 on the show Naked and Afraid.

Awesome 2 slice and a drink deal $7.25 and the slices were HUGE !!! 1ST time today but definitely not the last !!!
(5)Scotty C.
My friend Johnny and I stopped in here late night on Saturday just before the bars let out for some much needed nourishment. We were starving so I'm sure we were pretty easily pleased... alcohol can do that to you. I am originally from Boston and he is from NY so northern style pizza is something we both can attest to. We just had a couple slices of cheese and the flavor was way up there. They must use good ingredients. It was insanely thin, but not crispy. I like my za to be a bit firmer but every place does pizza different. The only downside was that it was so thin I felt like it wasn't very filling. I ended up getting a third slice of pretty mondo slices, and I felt like I could have eaten three more. It may have been the booze talking but I really felt like there wasn't much to it. Great pizza overall. Not the best I've had in the area, but I was impressed.

We were exhausted on our last night of our vacation to the area and decided to just order pizza in to our hotel. I ended up paying over $40 for two small pizzas and a 2 liter of pop but I was hoping it would be worth it. It was not. The pizza was cold and just looked awful right away. It looked like it had been sitting all day! The toppings on the veggie were just gross. They all tasted like they came out of a can and they had gone bad! Awful! We also had the red and white pizza with sausage which was better than the veggie but still not great. Definitely not worth the money. We barely ate the pizza and had to get it out of our hotel room because it almost made us sick and it even smelled awful.

Ordered 2 cheese slices. It was okay. No offense but, I've had better.
(3)Andrew W.
I'm honestly surprised at the reviews here that gave Sabatino's one star. This was my go to place while attending CofC to grab a slice and I've always had a positive experience. It's some of the best quality pizza I've had downtown and great calzones as well. Obviously if you order your own pie it will be more expensive than if you're just grabbing a couple of slices but if you've got a large group of people the issue isn't the place you're ordering from it's the people you're surrounded by.

This place is the real deal if for pizza!
(5)Micah L.
This is the best pizza I have ever eaten. The owner is very friendly and makes an awesome dough topped with top notch ingredients. I am excited to be back in Charleston to get some Sabatino's this weekend.
(5)Stephen K.
Yum yum! East coast flavor by the slice, look no where else!
(4)Aneel D.
It's not New York pizza. I recently have it another go and it was a lot better than last one I had it. Still over priced, but a lot better when you eat it there.
(3)Brutus F.
Great pizza! We were visiting town for a few days and had to go twice! Tiny if you try to eat in and don't expect a fancy sparkling interior, but the young guys working there were nice and aimed to please. Fresh and delicious.
(5)Scott M.
Worst pizza I ever ate. Toppings were from a can and a jar. Crust had no flavor. who wants slmmy mushrooms. Sauce had no taste either
(1)Nancy C.
If you're thinking about ordering delivery, take my advice and do not order from this place. After room service for my hotel stopped serving, I turned to Sabatino's for a very late dinner. I was told the pizza would arrive in 30 minutes; it took an hour and forty minutes. The pizzeria is located exactly four minutes from my hotel. At the one hour mark, I called the place back to check on status only to be informed that the pizza had just been put into the oven and it would be another 10-15 minutes. The unapologetic tone with complete lack of urgency or concern was infuriating. Forty minutes later, I received 3 repeated phone calls from the poor soul physically delivering the pizza since the dispatcher sent him to THREE incorrect hotels before arriving at the correct address. The pizza was cold and the dough/crust was slightly undercooked. The only reason I am giving this a 1 star is because Yelp will not let me rate this place with zeros. Worth noting that the delivery company (quickfoxes) was lovely, but they are not owned by Sabatino's.

Definitely a good place to grab some pizza and a meatball parm sub. I'm visiting for the week and was missing home. Good crust on the pizza, and a perfect NJ personality behind the counter.
(4)Terry C.
Not sure where the rest of these reviews came from, because this pizza was terrible! Virtually no sauce or cheese & the toppings were very light as well. I luv a good slice of NY pizza, but this is not anything close to the good stuff. Skip this place and try somewhere else.
(1)Caroline P.
Hands down the worst pizza I have ever had anywhere. I moved down from New York in September and have been on the hunt for some good pizza in charleston but have had no luck. This pizza had a terrible cheese to sauce ratio, it was undercooked and the crust was soggy because it was so thin and saturated with grease. As soon as you pick it up the entire front half flops down. The crust was white not a nice deep golden brown. The guys in there are nice but the pizza is simply awful. This is no where even close to New York City pizza. Another thing I have found is that many of the pizza places down here have these huge slices. I'm sorry but bigger is not always better. Work on getting a normal sized slice right.
(1)Mark S.
Have never been to Charleston before and was jonesing for some NY style pizza. So I hopped on yelp! and found Sabatino's. Awesome! Got a plain cheese pie with huge slices and it was perfect. Nice greasy thin slices you have to fold in half. Loved it.
