Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Now, I pride myself on being somewhat of a Chipotle aficionado, if you will. Coming from my place of expertise, I can tell you that this Chipotle needs to step up their game! I've been here numerous times in the few weeks since it's been open, and every time there's at least one thing I'm disappointed by. To name a few, I have experienced hair that is certainly not my own in the food, avocado peels in my blessed burrito bowl, and bones in my chicken (oh, the humanity!). Compared to many Chipotle locations, the line is not particularly long. Despite this, it goes at about half the speed - come on, Chipotle management! I expect more from you. Sitting here writing this review as I munch on my Chipotle burrito bowl, I feel the unique ecstasy in knowing that there is a Chipotle franchise down the street from me, along with a certain despair that it's not all I had hoped (and dreamed) for. There's still time for you, oh glorious Chipotle downtown location. Let's get that hair tied back, channel Usain Bolt, and GO! Also - please give me more food. I want my $7 worth and that rice is damn good.

Ordered steak burrito pick up and when I got home, they forgot the steak... Literally..

Your average Chipotle location - but finally in downtown Chucktown! Store is beautifully designed and large dnough. Location is excellent on King St. The only downside is that you can't drive here. Staff is friendly, attentive, and pretty effective at handling the line of customers. I went here on a Monday at 6pm and waited about 7 min but there were 20 people ahead of me. Definitely a better alternative than the other Mexican fast food places close-by.

What's not to love? Clean, spacious restaurant. Food that is fresh and customizable. We stopped in here on a hot July day and were refreshed by the food and ambience. Downtown Charleston only has one high-end Mexican restaurant that is rated well - it was shut for July 4th. So, Chipotle was the next best choice after the other options were either shuttered or poorly rated.

It's Chipotle - if you've been to one before you can expect the same consistent product here. Centrally located just below Calhoun Street on King, the location should continue to see a lot of foot traffic. So why the 3 stars? A few other reviewers below pointed it out: the line is incredibly slow and not up to the standards I've seen at other Chipotle locations. I went in on a relatively light Sunday afternoon and easily spent 25 minutes in line. Until the line situation improves, I don't plan on making this a part of my regular lunch rotation.

I've been to many Chipotle's all over the country and this one does not disappoint. Besides the beautiful building overlooking King Street you have the same delicious food, quality, and service that you would expect from this uber popular chain.

The good news? There's a Chipotle downtown now that I can walk to. The bad news? It's the worst Chipotle location I've ever been to. Maybe management was in a rush to get this store open in March after falling way behind on their original plan to open before the new year, but the staff doesn't seem ready at all. They move very slowly, can't manage a rush and don't even seem confident rolling up a burrito. The first time I went in there was a line almost out the door at 4pm on a Saturday. The employees didn't seem to be moving with much urgency despite the line and after almost 30 minutes, I got to the front just to be told that they were out of several things because they were "really busy today." Really? You didn't foresee a little bit of a rush on your opening weekend on the corner of King and Calhoun? Bad management. Get a burrito bowl at this location because both times I've ordered a burrito here, the person attempting to wrap it up has literally been shaking. I feel bad getting mad at them about it because it's not really their fault that they haven't been properly trained - it's management's fault. But it's still pretty frustrating, especially when you ask them to double wrap your burrito since it is completely falling apart, have them stare at you like a complete zombie for 30 seconds before getting another tortilla, only to unwrap the burrito, place the tortillas directly on top of each other and wrap the whole thing up the same way they did before so that it's falling apart even more. Seriously? I've been to plenty of Chipotles. This is the ONLY one where the employees literally had no idea how to double wrap a burrito to keep it from falling apart. Again, bottom line is that whoever manages this location is doing a piss poor job.

Ok so Chipotle is one of my favorites restaurants, so of course I've been anxiously awaiting the opening of this location near m office. The first time I went, the line crew was very speedy, getting us through the line fairly quickly. However, I got up to order and was told that the grill was out of order and they had no chicken, steak, or fajitas. Disappointing. Ordered a barbacoa bowl and enjoyed it. The next time, I went with my coworkers and was disappointed and how SLOW they folks behind the line were. No one seemed to be in any hurry, despite the 20+ person line. They had all of the food options this time, but no ice for the drinks. It also looked like no one had taken the trash out all day, as the trash can was overflowing. In addition, most of the empty tables had trash still on them. Of course, people are supposed to bus their own tables, but someone should be looking over the dining area. I love Chipotle, so will definitely be back...but it's becoming hard to convince my unfamiliar coworkers that the walk to Chipotle is worth all of those problems...
