My mom tells me back in the day, the 'Inn' had a fireplace and a dog and was more of a bar..not so much now but they will fill your wine glass almost to the top with white zingfandel. (i would never allow myself to order this in metro boston but come on you know you want it!) If you don't want Portuguese food or Magoni's or Pub 99--dining in or around Fall River is a bit of a challenge. Yes this place frequented by fogies but if you come after happy hour you may see...a good 10 people under 40. As for the food- the littlenecks in garlic and olive oil are just lovely and come with super buttery garlic bread. The clams casino have an interesting variation with melted mozzerella on top. The fish and chips are one of the best in the area..(and we're picky) The Scrod w/Breadcrumbs is fantastic as it is drenched in butter. I always think I'm being healthy ordering that and the littlenecks-- but think again! The pushing 30 part of me also loves the mashed up butternut squash served in a little side dish. And if you have to wait for a table as you so often do, the cocktail waitress will bring with your white zingfandel a great mix with those..nut like things with the little ridges..oh i missed those! And if you want a true Ocean State experience, the (flagship?) Job Lot is right down the street.

Although the decor is outdated, the servers have been there since it opened, and mostly old timers dining out make it an extremely quiet dining experience, (warning if you go with kids, or a large group, you get the eyes from the elderly diners) The food tops it all. Overall wonderful! Italian style potatoe skins, calamari, chicken piccata, chicken milano, steak alla mama, baked stuff shirmp! And you get enough for 3 days of leftovers...They also do a wonderful job at take out and do not give you less.

HUGE portion sizes! I sat at the bar while waiting for friends and instantly noticed that everyone at the bar knew one another including the bartender. A real favorite among the older set- a great place to bring my grandparents I thought! I had a cocktail and an app while waiting for friends and then we all got a glass of wine- again HUGE portion sizes... or in this case "pour"tion size! I didn't need another the rest of the meal! Everyone left with doggie bags, I had the veal parm- it was delich but the only was able to eat about 1/4 of the meal. Others had the clams zuppa, chix ceasar salad, chix parm, and "eggplant, peppers, fries". All in all a very reasonable place to go- but definately more of a family pick. We closed the place down on a Monday night... it was 8:45pm!

This is a great place to go when you really want to stretch your dollar. The amount of food they give you for what you pay is out of control. The portions are huge! Its no surprise the dining room is filled with senior citizens, as they need the most for their money for obvious reasons. After living this long they are no fools. The food is not gourmet or innovative, but basic and satisfying. The fish and chips is delicious and for less than $11.00 you get chowder or salad, half a small loaf of bread, an enormous piece of perfectly fried fish, coleslaw and a large portion of fries (substitute the fries for a mound of mashed potatoes with gravy and you will have enough food for 3 meals). Go here for take out rather than dining in to spare yourself the outdated ambiance.

Oh. MY. GAWD. This place is taken' it wayyyyy back to the country + I'm from KY so I can rightfully say everything I'm about to tell you. This place has WOOD everywhere...up, down... left...right....floors, walls...décor...the people that go here are in bed by 8:30pm or have VERY LARGE belt buckles. I think I saw 57 wooden ducks in the main dining room. The food here is pretty good but the portion sizes are ridiculously GIGANTIC. Get ready for 10 pounds of pasta + giant pieces of chicken...or a whole chicken. They are NOT messen' around. The only unfortunate thing is the staff. Our waitress was unbelievably rude...in fact she walked away in the middle of my order like 3 times. She hated our table + it showed. It was clearly annoying her that we weren't regulars or the fact that I wasn't wearing a john deere hat. Oh well. If you want to eat till you die + have enough left over to feed yourself for a week straight this is your kinda place.

Country Inn is a fine establishment!! A long time family favorite, they have been serving up delicious dishes for... well, a long time. Very extensive, yet basic, menu with all of your home style favorites.. my two favorites are the clam zuppa for $10.95 which comes with your choice of soup/chowder or salad and a heaping portion of fettuccine and a load of littlenecks, and the hot turkey sandwich on white bread with soup/chowder or salad, potato and vegetable, cranberry sauce and loads of gravy for $8.95. Their prices are superb and their portions are huge.. but the food is also delicious! I have never had a bad meal and have been coming here since I was very young. Their lobster salad roll is huge, fresh and amazing at 15 dollars, it can't be beat around here! Yes, you will be dining with an older crowd in a wood-ie atmosphere and leaving with a doggie bag, but I think it is great!!

This little restaurant right on the main drag through Warren, on the way to Bristol is a favorite place to stop after visiting with relatives. It's kinda dark with wood and wood paneling everywhere and sorta smells like old wood and old people, but the food is really great. Lots of homestyle dishes...the kind that you wish you had the time and patience to cook at home. I've had the chick parm, the chick marsala, fish n chips, pork tenderloin, steak...nothing I've tried has been any less than first rate. Portions are large, prices very reasonable and they have a decent wine list too.

This is a great restaurant for everyone. They have everything from seafood to italian to your basic sandwiches. We love to go because the portion sizes are huge and the prices are great. We usually see alot of senior citizens probably because we are eating early with the kids! There is usually a wait if you go on the weekends at the "normal" dinner time. Its definatley good food at a good price!

Yep, this place really stinks. Stay away. You'll catch the rot from the bluehairs. They have heart attacks right on the stairs! We have a pool to see when the bloody ambulance shows up to cart one away! Aside from that, what really pisses me off about this place are the great drinks, phenom service and great food. Yep, stay away. More room for me at the bar.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
