The owners! Carly &Sean are the most attentive and hands on owners that I have met in years. Beautiful views and very good food. I went with a large group for a birthday and everyone enjoyed their dinner. On the night that we went they were offering a prix fixe menu for $19.95 that came with a glass of wine, beer or a soda with one of the listed entrees and a dessert. I opted for the roasted 1/2 duck from the prix fixe menu and I was not disappointed. The skin was nice and crispy with a really delicious glaze and it was perfectly cooked. It came with two sides, and I chose the baked sweet potato and snap peas with carrots. The sweet potato was HUGE and the veggies were fresh and crisp. The chocolate lava cake dessert (which was my pick) was a hit with the whole table. They also have beignets served with ice cream and those were also delicious. I would definitely come back here for a special occasion dinner and drinks. Great value and delicious food.

After long highways and windy small roads, hubby and I reached this hidden gem. Very quaint, nautical, and intimate, it is nestled by the water in the middle of a neighborhood. There was barely any wait with a reservation. Due to restaurant week, waitstaff seemed overwhelmed and overworked (thus attentiveness was lower than norm). Drinks good, apps good, and main course good, there is really no room for complaint. Only thing is parking is dreadful when busy. P.S. Get those beignets!

Went to 15 Point Road with my family on Saturday night for Newport Restaurant Week...it was fantastic! We chose 15 Pt because of the menu they were offering for NRW...there were about 10 entrees to choose from...so great! They were extremely busy, and the service was a little slow, but I will let it slide since I am sure they are not used to being as busy as they were. Everyone in my party was thoroughly pleased with their meals (prime rib, salmon, scallops). The shared pitcher of red sangria was also equally loved by all. Dessert was amazing...the beignets are a MUST. Loved everything about this place, will definitely be back back!

My family and I had a extremely awesome dinner tonight. We sat on the patio which was a little windy but still the view of the water was beautiful. It was very busy and we didn't make reservation. I suggest it's best to make a reservation, unless you like sitting at the bar. My step Dad met Chris and his wife while walking my Dog " Louie". In Island Park . They struck up a conversation and mentioned he owned 15 Point Rd He invited us to stop by and have dinner. I ordered the salmon with polenta my step dad had the seafood casserole and my sister enjoyed the chicken with sweet potatoes . Everything was cooked to perfection. We had told the waitress to please let Chris know we came by and enjoyed ourselves. We would definitely go back.

Went with a group of friends last night. Shared some appetizers, the favorite was the lobster mac and cheese. In regards to the entree I had the drunken lobster penne, which was very good. All my friends liked there choices. We ended the night with shared desert including banana foster and the creme brulee..both were decent. The location is beautiful...right on the water. Quite windy, plenty of parking. My friends had the white wine sangria..which they loved. Prices were good. The best part about the night was the service. We were the last people in the restaurant for atleast 45 min in the end, service was impeccable till the end. They did not rush us..hats off to the staff..

We had a reservation for a seat in the bar, which I thought unusual, we arrived early and the hostess seemed flustered and was not helpful, put out that we arrived early. We were eventually seated at the bar, and ordered. The bar is small, was very noisy, but the service was adequate, the food was excellent. The lobster bisque was hot, tangy, with lots of lobster. The entree, stuffed cod was done just right, te stuffing was baked crispy, not soggy, with lots of seafood, the roasted potatoes were crispy on the outside ad tender in the center. It is a go back for the food, just don't expect to sit in the bar and enjoy a drink.

We were delighted at how delicious the food was at this restaurant. It was so outstanding that we returned for a second time later in the week. The second time was at least as just as the first time. The wait service was excellent, too! There are so many choices to pick from. We are foodies from New Jersey who eat out frequently at highly rated NYC restaurants. 15 Point Road was equal to the best restaurant we ever ate at. The owner was very gracious and welcoming to us as well. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious dining experience. We ate Scallops Block Island, Baked Stuffed Shrimp, Seafood Compton Bay, and the Chilean Sea Bass. OMG--delicious! This restaurant is a reason unto itself to return to the Newport RI area. We also had the steamed mussels appetizer and, for dessert, the homemade beignets and carrot cake--yummy!

I write this review with a heavy heart. I was contacted by the owner 8 months ago, and was asked (very politely) that I try the restaurant again and re-review it. He explained that he was going to add more vegetarian options to the menu (there were none the last time I went) and that he was going to change the bread that they serve before dinner. Let me start by saying the bread was MUCH improved! We asked for a second helping of bread we were so impressed! However, it makes me sad to say that once again I had to order off menu as there were no vegetarian options. Also, as evidenced by the pictures, I had a couple of wilted pieces of lettuce in my salad. They offered to bring it back, but really, it was only three or four pieces and I didn't see much of a reason to waste food as it was edible otherwise. The off menu option I had was pretty much the same as the last time. Penne a la vodka, but this time I asked for a variety of veggies as opposed to just asparagus. It was delicious. My mother's fish and chips on the other hand was odd. She is picky to be fair, but it seemed the batter around the fish (remember now, this is coming from a vegetarian, so take it with a grain of salt) was darker than it normally would be. And big! Really, really big! She ended up eating just the fish on the inside, and she said the fish was excellent. Also, I didn't notice the door banging this time. I don't know if they fixed that problem, but I was glad not to hear the bang, bang, bang! every time waitstaff would go through. Last but not least. Desert. Now, I have for about a week now been saying that the next place I went to that had chocolate lava cake I would save room for desert. And look at that! They had it! Of course I ordered it. I would have been a fool not to! Maybe it's just me, maybe there's two versions of a lava cake, but in my head I was thinking that when I first put my fork into it, that wonderful gooey chocolate would gush out. But that was not the case. The chocolate was flowing down from the top, and it tasted like Hershey's syrup. It was edible, but I was disappointed and ate the ice cream and whipped cream instead. I strongly suggest to try this place for drinks, and perhaps a nice lunch on a warm day, but I think I won't be back myself. For variety of food alone, unless I was with a group that all wanted to go, I just don't think for me that it's worth the trip over there. p.s. We didn't have a reservation and they still were able to sit us on the deck on a Saturday night. Mad props for that!

We went here last week for dinner, not having been to 15 Point Road in quite some time. This had been a regular stop for us over the years, and we had been here quite frequently in the past, going back to the previous two ownerships. There has been no particular reason that our visits have been less frequent, other than a change in life's priorities and schedules. The current owners have had this restaurant for several years, and it continues to rank high in our book. We had a wonderful meal! The clam chowder was a generous serving and was very tasty. It was not overly thickened, which pleased me. Our entrees were the Steak Diana, cooked exactly as ordered, and a seafood over pasta special that was excellent. The special featured pieces of lobster, scallops and shrimp in a lightly creamed tomato sauce, which I asked to be served over angel hair, rather than penne. The food was delicious. We stopped just short of licking the plates. Service was efficient and professional. While not a "cheap" night out, the prices were reasonable for value received. We quite enjoyed ourselves.

Decent food but nothing to write home about. The biggest issue I had is that they were out of THREE things we tried to order! We were very disappointed because two of the choices they were out of were items we specifically came to this restaurant for, after viewing the menu online. If we would have been notified before we ordered ("FYI, we're out of..." it might have been acceptable, but three separate times we got excited about a menu item, ordered, and then we're disappointed. The service was also lackluster. Our server seemed embarrassed that they were out of everything we wanted, so she stopped trying. Other servers were also hanging out gossiping right by our table, which I though was pretty unprofessional.

Nice place. Nice people. Great food and service. This place in Island Park had changed owners this past summer, and we hadn't been here in quite a while (it had grown a little 'stale'.) The new folks have kept some of the classics (baked stuffed shrimp, baked scallops, etc.) but jazzed up the apps and the menu a bit. We brought another couple with us, had drinks, two appetizers, steaks and seafood entrees and all were both pleased with the food and the bill wasn't crazy either. Last comment - same as the first - nice place, nice people, great food. Highly recommended (and we're locals.)
Found this place on here when I was looking for a place to surprise my boyfriend with. Also found a nice Restaurant.com coupon that we took in with us (but we made sure to tip on the full amount (: ) I think the place is nice, seemed clean and the staff was on top of it. The decorations are a TINY bit dated but whatever we had a really nice date! My dirty gin martini was very good and my boyfriend's wine was delicious and chilly. We got the caprese salad and the basil was scrumptious. I also liked the spice of the cracked pepper corn on top. I asked for my filet minion to be medium rare and it was a TAD over done. Just a tad, still delicious, tender, and relatively juicy. But it was a bit over "medium rare". My boyfriend's french fries were undercooked by a bit too. But he said he really liked the fish with the fish and chips. Also there was an aioli that came with the filet and I don't know what it was but it was effing GOOD. It had some sort of Thai/Indian flavor to it that I thought went very well with the filet. Salads were good as were the sides. They were also attentive to the fact that I requested being seated near a window. The host was very nice and came by and checked on us. The view was very nice! Overall I thought it was a really nice date night. Not too pricey at all, I think the pricing is very reasonable for the quality of food you get. Also the AMOUNT of food you get. We were STUFFED! If you're looking for a place on the water with the option for outdoor seating, very reasonable prices on both food and bar, with a tasty outcome of each, this is the place for you. I recommend it!

As a Portsmouth resident, the dining choices in our town are rather meager. One could "leave the island" and find many nice locations in Bristol, or drive ALL the way to the other end of the island to Newport, and be swarmed by heedless tourists, regardless what time of the year it is. So, to give to the local economy, you have about 9 choices in Portsmouth, with 6 of them being pizza places. Now don't get me wrong, I love my fair share of pizza and truly appreciate the variety that Portsmouth offers (must be a lot of Italians here?), but when it comes to fine dining, there are very few options. Given this, I would say that 15 Point Road is the best choice you have for fine dining, without leaving the town. Personally, it is the go to spot for any birthday in my family. Most recently, I went there for my mothers birthday of which we went on the third night of celebrating.The one thing I like about this fine dining location, is that, if I were to go to any of the 8 other reasturaunts, I would see people from my high school. To this day, I have yet to run into anyone at 15PR. This is a definite plus. So, on the night after the storm on one of the last nights of 2012, my roomates (mom, dad and myself) brave it for 15PR. We are immediately welcomed by a charming staff, that seat us immediately. The ambience is inspiring, romantic, charming. It has great lanterns and candles that really give the room some spirit, and it is very small, so that you almost feel that you are in a private room. While we were there at night, I did know that the water was just beyond the windows and would serve for an even better background. For tonight, I just had to use my imagination. My brother, his wife, and baby soon arrived and lightened the quiet, romantic, atmosphere. Now while Yelp does say that this reastuaunt is not good for "kids" my niece is very well behaved, so they did not seem to have a problem. The rest of the restaurant was definitely all +16, with the majority +55. The dinner started out per usual, except my dad didn't order any drinks. I think this is because the night before, he was at his ski club reunion, and got a little too rowdy. This resulted in my boyfriend and I waiting at the bottom of a ski mountain for him, and him not showing up! I got the cab, my brother got a mix, my mom got the pinot, and my SIL got a diet coke. The baby had water. Conversation was a little tame, however, we were definitely the loudest in the room. Without us, it probably would have been very romantic for the others. we always get the calamari, every. single. time. And it never has tasted less than amazing! 10 stars to the calamari. For a party of 6, the portion is a little small, so we normally order 2. However, my brother also scoops half the plate into his mouth the first time around, so maybe if your table is a little more generous it can last longer. After that, the salads were approriately served, all in the most timely fashion. I never had to think twice about when the food would come next. I don't like salad, but it looked fresh, green and tasty. I am a wannabe bread connosiuer, and their bread merely meets expectations. While it certainly wasn't baked right there in their ovens, it still had it's unique flavor. Approved, but not impressed. Insider hint ****Sun-Thurs, they offer special entrees for 19.95, with salad, a glass of wine, bred, and dessert included. This is a major score, especially cus these deals are normally SUPERB! We try to plan strategically to not only make the resturaunt more affordable, but also to try new things!! I ordered the papparadelle pasta. This is long egg noodles with a thick, creamy, spinach parmesan sauce. The first time I ordered this, I had to make sure it was not like spinach soup, that the sauce would not be green. When they say spinach, they mean that there are just spinach leaves in the creamy paramsean sauce. Thank gosh!! It is THE BEST. Around the table, was striped bass ( I had a bite, it was fresh), surf and turf, and stuffed shrimp. Oh, and the wine, was fabulous and came in extra large pourings! For desert, I got the lava cake, which had just the right portion of chochlate sauce inside. Some reasturaunts put too much, so you can't event taste the cake. I got to enjoy the lavish cake, as well as a nice dressing of lava. All in all, I know I will be coming back here at the next birthday (my brother's in feb), and I can expect nothing but the best. I am proud, as a Portsmouth resident, that we have such a fine dining in town, so that those who do not want to travel a far( the 5 miles to Newport, or off island) and can still enjoy the freshest seafood, and excellent service. I think my only negative of the evening would be that the waitresses all looked identical, so it was sometimes hard to figure out which one was ours. However, she had her A game on, so we only needed to ask for more soda once, so there was almost no need to tell them apart.

Cheery and helpful, professional staff did a very god job on an overcrowded night. The kitchen was certainly overwhelmed, and our serving was delayed quite a bit, but the staff kept us informed and happy. My Lobster Fra Diavolo was a nicely spiced combination of perfectly cooked lobster and al dente pasta, marred by the flavor of raw tomato paste. A good red sauce shouldn't be this difficult. The Baked Brie appetizer is generously sized, and certainly planned to be a table plate and not for a single person. The Beignets and Ice Cream dessert is portioned nicely for sharing as well. The view from the deck outside on a Summer night must be fantastic.

At the request of the owner I went back for another shot. I went with my two young children. One entree, a beer, two kid sodas, two kid meals for 36 bones. First the good-- Kids Mac and cheese- It was a homemade white sauce. I applaud the attempt to actually produce something good for kids rather than out of the box nuclear orange concoction. Fries with Kids chicken fingers were solid. Chicken fingers were the ubiquitous frozen restaurant offering. Maybe a rethink is necessary?? Entree was the special salmon with chili sauce. Best part of the dish was the veggies. Julienne cut squash with snow peas with herbs. perfectly cooked. Salmon was cooked fine maybe a minute long. Chili sauce was weak-- it was the jarred sweet chili sauce you can find in any international aisle at the grocery. Fingerling potatoes were lightly seasoned. felt like the potatoes needed something a fresh herb maybe?? Service-- attentive but misled at times-- Two placesettings were on table when we sat down with three people--Never added until I had to ask for extra cutlery when the entrees came. Never addressed an empty water glass or beer bottle. All in all, I wish 15 Point well and hope that this locally owned business keeps efforting to improve. Nice open place with good views on the Sakonnet.

I am going to give it two stars because for the majority of the going out to eat public, it is fine. I will say, that if I had a free meal for 2 gift certificate I would give it away, I will not go back under any circumstances. The glasses and silverware were dirty, but who cares right? Not an indication of anything right? The view is fine. The interior, while bland, 1970s as one reviewer put it, is at least much cleaner that the eating equipment. If your purpose of going out to eat is to eat standard mediocre food as supplied by Sysco Foods, with perhaps a flourish of chopped parsley thrown at it to make it look "gourmet", this is your kind of place. If you don't mind ordering something like "split duck" and after being very specific the split means down the axis (a true half duck, front fore and aft quarters) not cross wise (two leg and thigh quarters) AND THEN STILL GETTING TWO HIND QUARTERS, cooked to death and dried out no less, then Enjoy!. Hey what did I expect: The one time I went years ago the food similarly sucked. I heard it was under new ownership and had greatly improved. Then I heard, from a neighbor, just as we were leaving to go, that it had the same cook who has been there for years, apparently an ex-Navy cook who knows how to make a mean 8000 pound meatloaf and 30,000 gallons of "beef flavor" gravy. As far as food goes, you are way better off at Fridays or Outback or a place like that. Those places at least follow the Sysco thawing and reheating instructions; they don't go off the reservation and get creative and ruin perfectly good pre-prepared factory food.

Certainly a night of ups & downs. First off, we had a reservation but to the restaurant's defense, we had made it same-day. It was my brother's bday and we had forgotten it was Newport Restaurant Week. We ended up waiting at least 35 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. The gentleman at the door, who I think was possibly a manager, was nice and apologetic although he did say many times that our table was "being set" at that moment. Listen, I have a strong background in the restaurant industry. You are busy, I get it. But, I'd rather you not tell us that if it's not true. Our table clearly was not being set the 5 times you told us that while we waited. But, on the plus, he apologized more than once, and when he heard it was my brother's birthday, asked him his favorite drink and grabbed him a beer while we waited. That was certainly nice of him. We were finally seated and our server greeted us in a timely manner. I could tell it had been a long night. She was informative and got our order taken within ten minutes. Awesome, we were all starving at this point. Appetizers and bread came out at the same time, again within a reasonable time which was perfect. Meals followed nicely, my lobster from the Restaurant Week had barely any meat but I had expected so much since it was only a 1/2. Salmon and baked stuffed shrimp were great, sides of potatoes and squash were yummy. My mother's shrimp scampi on the other hand, tasted like someone had accidentally dumped an entire jug of pepper in it. Very hard to eat. She tried, I will give her that. It was so long that we saw the waitress that we had all finished our meals by the time she came over and my mom was able to say something. My mom told her that the linguine was not tasting right (she had ordered this dish here before) and that she was hoping she could get some new linguine to eat with her remaining shrimp. The waitress seemed very confused as to what my mom wanted, and never once apologized. She came back a few moments later with our desserts (they came with the Restaurant Week) and a to-go box for my mom. My mom had never asked for a to-go box, she was hungry and had wanted to eat, so she opened up the box, only to find that the linguine they had given her was cold. The waitress said "Oh I thought you had just wanted it to take home", and walked away from the table. It had almost seemed like they just rinsed her pasta off and boxed it up, but one should never assume. Either way, it was not treated in a manner prideful of the meal being served to a paying guest. On another plus, though, our server did come back with my brother's dessert, with a candle in it, and led us in a song of Happy Birthday. We couldn't be mad at her after that, but were still perplexed at the way the scampi situation had been handled. It was not taken off the bill, nor did a manager come speak to us just to even say sorry. Guess they just wanted us out of there, as we did end up being the last table to leave, after waiting so long to be seated. Overall, cute spot, but dreadful parking. Quality food, but not the best service I've ever had (at least on a busy night).

15 Point Road came recommended and our expectations were high after being seated on the patio and glancing at the menu. We started with the calamari, which came with a mayonnaise sauce on it and a Romesco sauce on the side. The dish was under seasoned and the sauces heavy and bland. Next was Sole "en brick" with a crispy crust with roasted potatoes, and I went for the deconstructed beef wellington - both ambitious dishes from the regular menu. The beef was "ooh and aah" worthy when it came to the table, as was the fish dish. The beef and mushrooms were properly cooked, as was the pastry, but bland and unseasoned. The pate was grainy and did not mesh well with the other flavors. The sauce was sweeter than I expected and not in a good way. Sides were sweet potato and steamed vegetables that were also very bland. Hubby said his sauce was also sweet and everything was unseasoned. The meal was very ambitious, but I would rather have had a more flavorful meal that didn't try so hard to impress. The presentation on all of the dishes being served was excellent and beautiful. The staff was impeccable, friendly and sincere. It's no wonder so many people return as regulars. We would give it another try, but choose other menu items.

I had the experience below and unfortunately it was not a great one. Everyone has bad days and I happened to catch one of them. The owner reached out to me directly. He was very kind and thoughtful regarding my experience. He went above and beyond to try to correct my unpleasant experience! You simply cant please everyone nor make everything go perfectly every day. How you respond and take the feedback into consideration means you have another chance in my future! We looked up a place to eat while in Portsmouth and thought this placed looked nice. Please don't be fooled by the view! I am giving it two stars because the person I was with said her burger was ok ... The service was horrible and my food was terrible! I had: Lobster Quesadilla With lobster, corn, cheddar-jack & scallions under a tossed garden salad The lobster was so dried out, it tasted like it had been in the freezer for days! Maybe its a good thing there was a real lack of the lobster in it. I had one bite that I tasted the a piece of corn and there was a real lack of scallions. I can't even download my pic on yelp! The reviews here are very misleading and you will be disappointed like myself if you go by them! I really, really, want to give them one star!

I guess they don't put much effort on vegetables. There is no salad on menu and the side salad comes with entree was wilted. The vegetable on the side of my bass had absolutely no taste and not cooked properly. The stuffy my husband had was one of the best in town, though. Ok, I will admit that I'm basing this update on the fact that the owner reached out to me and invited us back to try them again, stating that since our previous visit they have a new chef and have implemented some changes. I have to say we were quite pleased with our dining experience there last night. . . yes, the parking lot is still tiny (and to those who say parking on the street isn't a problem, they've probably never had their car hit or mirror knocked off. . . trust me, I know of what I speak), but we were able to get a spot this time. Anyway, the owner greeted us when we arrived and checked on us throughout the meal to make sure everything was going well. He seemed to do this with almost every party that came in, which was very nice to see. He seemed very energetic and enthusiastic, and most of all, sincere in making sure that every guest was having a pleasant experience. We started with the crab cakes, which were pretty much all shredded crab meat with little filler. I generally prefer lump crab cakes, but I couldn't find anything to complain about in regards to their taste at all. For entrees, my wife had the "Mount Hope Seafood" which was a ton of shellfish (lobster, shrimp, scallops) in a cream sauce over puff pastry, while I had the "Deconstructed Beef Wellington". We both enjoyed our entrees immensely. Very flavorful and well executed. Dinner came with a salad (love it when salads are included), which were pretty standard but nice and fresh, and a starch (mashed potatoes, rice, or fries) and veg (green beans last night). For dessert we had beignets with vanilla ice cream. . . yumm-o! Oh yeah, drinks were definitely not on the short pour side last night. Service again was efficient, professional, and friendly. I really wish we lived closer to this place. The owner seems to have really made strides in cuisine and overall presentation since we were there last year. We will definitely go back at some point though.

My husband and I had dinner here this past Sunday night. We ordered from the prix fixe menu which offered about 8 different entrees. The meal included a beverage, including wine or beer, an entree that came with a veggie and carb, and a dessert. EVERYTHING was delicious. We had a steak dinner and salmon dinner and shared both. The main menu looked wonderful as well as the prix fixe menu. We'll return to this restaurant at every opportunity!

I found this place on open table when trying to find an alternate for the boat house. I was very surprised at the quality of food at this place. It's a smaller place and not as fancy let's say as the Boat House. The food was awesome, I had duck which I never order out and omg it was so good. We also had grilled Tuna which was excellent and the drinks were also really good. I've been there 4 times now and I have not been disappointed once.
A friend recommended this place for dinner and she made no mistake when telling me I would love it! The owner of the restaurant greets almost every guest at door, if he misses someone it is just because he is checking on tables, talking to the staff, making sure everyone is happy. It was my first time in this establishment and I felt like a regular! From the hostess, to the bar tender, to the servers, everyone is so attentive. It was a Saturday evening, I noticed they have a lot of regulars and they greet them all by their names, everyone seemed so happy! We sat at a hight table and ordered 2 Pineapple Upside Down martinis and a spicy shrimp appetizer, both HIGHLY recommended. The vibe at the bar of the restaurant was so good we wanted to sit there, they had no problem when we asked if we could move to the bar, they quickly helped us move our belongings and cocktails. We then ordered a lobster mac and cheese and a "specialty dish" it was pasta with scallops, shrimp and crab meat. Both super delicious and I was surprised to see both plates had more meat than we could finish! Their chef sure knows how to keep clients satisfied! Even the warm bread they offer was good! Ohh I almost forgot, before bringing the entrees, they bring you fresh salad, something I was not expecting and sure enjoyed! Dessert...talk about desert, we had the Beignetes, highly recommended too. And definitely portioned to share. By the time we left, I knew a few names already and I would like to congratulate and thank Sean and Carly for such a great dining experience! I can't wait to go back and this time seat by the windows to enjoy the beautiful view! I will recommend this place to all my friends!

Update: The owner of this location contacted me and made everything right. There were extunuating circumstances that were part of the reason our meal did not turn out correctly. The owner made up for this and I have to say the food was fantastic! We had a wonderful evening and would gladly recommend this loation in the future. My wife and I went here through Groupon and thought we would give it a try. Overall disappointing. Drinks cost per for coke so be careful on the refills. The food sounded great in theory but my scallops were rare and my wife's mahi was burnt and tasted like an old uncleaned grill. In addition, we ordered clam chowder which was never brought to us. At the end I also noticed a automatic tip..... I usually give 20 to 22 percent so they actually ripped themselves off in this case. Will not be going here again. I actually am feeling bad from the raw scallops. The only reason this isn't 1 star is the beautiful view and the good appetizer. My personal recommendation is skip, even with the 50% off deals they have been running all over the place including Groupon, Livingsocial and Restaurant.com .

Nice enough spot and on a crowded night parking would surely be a challenge. Fortunately This was a Tuesday night and quiet. We were greeted with very friendly staff and taken directly to a table with a fine view of the water. I ordered a drink and requested it without ice. It came with ice. The lobster bisque was too salty and barely had one piece of lobster in it and it was luke warm at best. I eas given a choice of mixed vegetables or roasted potatoes which I ordered. I got mixed vegetables. When I brought this to the attention of the server she quickly brought the potatoes with her apology. The entry was their local sole which was over cooked. Something I might expect in Montana but not in a restaurant 300 feet away from the ocean.

On a busy Friday night, Exceeded the high expectations I had from the first visit. Fabulous bacon wrapped scallop appetizer and a fried clam appetizer that was the best clam dish I ever had. Seafood pasta with "pink vodka sauce" was great and had about as much shrimp, scallop, lobster, and crabmeat as pasta. Now on my list to get there every couple of months or so for a meal.

My husband and I had a fantastic dinner here on their lovely deck, overlooking the Sakonnet River. Service was wonderful, as was the food. Clam chowder was very flavorful. My husband said his baked stuffed shrimp were some of the best he has ever had. My sweet potato caked salmon with polenta was delicious and very different. I highly recommend saving room for the beignets, they were Amazing!!!

This place is overpriced and overrated and the parking sucks. We went here because of a LivingSocial coupon. i wish I would have saved my money. The food was so bland. I ordered the N 15 Diana Steak and my boyfriend got the Mahi Mahi. Both were subpar. My steak was overcooked and bland. Though the vegetables were very good,but i didn't spend $25 for some damn vegetables. The Mahi Mahi was dry. My boyfriend extremely vocal with his dissatisfaction. Yes the atmosphere is nice, but the best thing was walking out of this place.

A group of 9 of us had reservations tonight at 6:30pm, which was a same day call made a few hours earlier. We opted to eat on the outside deck, right by the water. We felt comfortable, but it did get chilly halfway into the meal. The dining room inside looked cozy and bright with a few skylights and large windows showing off the ocean view. Our waitress, Eden, was attentive and responsive, although we did have to remind her about bringing us bread. I got the lobster bisque to start with. It was flavorful and creamy, with several small chunks of lobster. I did get a piece of cartilage as an extra bonus. I used to work as a waitress in a 4 star French restaurant, so I was spoiled with homemade lobster broth to make their amazing lobster bisque I liked it, but did not love it. I wish it left me wanting more, but it did not. I did however, try my daughter's thick and creamy clam chowder. I am no clam chowder connoisseur by any means and this chowder would have knocked my socks off (had I had socks on that is). I was in the company of several individuals that are clam chowder experts and they hailed the same praises. I chose the seared scallops because I love them and I often sear them at home as a nice appetizer before a seafood meal I prepare. They were average sized (a few were smaller than I would have preferred). They were nicely seared on one side, with NO sear on the other side! This confused me greatly, since scallops should be seared on both sides. The scallops came with dollops of cream sauce between each scallop and a small mound of the broccoli rob I chose as my veggie side. I could have chosen sesame green beans as well. My boyfriend said the green beans were great. My broccoli rob was ok. I am Italian, so I grew up cooking and eating this veggie. It was ok, but not great. I wish the chef had used a bit more garlic when they sautéed it and trimmed a bit of the leaves that were discolored. My boyfriend's half duck was moist and flavorful, having been deep fried with bacon wrapped around the leg. Swoon! He generously shared his duck special and I was proud of him. Food sharing is not usually one of his strong points. I think I am having a positive impact on him! My daughter's mussels were ok, but strangely flavored in a coconut curry broth. She ordered the regular mussels appetizer, but the kitchen messed up and gave her the coconut curry one. She's 15, so she didn't complain until I noticed that she only ate about a fourth of them. I let the waitress know and she apologized and took it right off the bill. We skipped dessert because I stopped at Whites Pastry in Mansfield, MA for a smorgasbord of yummy, sugary delights (they have the best vanilla half moon cookies of any I have ever had, but I digress.) I will think twice before choosing them again, as I appreciate enjoying all aspects of the meal I order. I just wish it had been a more elevated experience for me. You cannot serve lackluster sides with entrées at this type of restaurant.

The owners! Carly &Sean are the most attentive and hands on owners that I have met in years. Beautiful views and very good food. I went with a large group for a birthday and everyone enjoyed their dinner. On the night that we went they were offering a prix fixe menu for $19.95 that came with a glass of wine, beer or a soda with one of the listed entrees and a dessert. I opted for the roasted 1/2 duck from the prix fixe menu and I was not disappointed. The skin was nice and crispy with a really delicious glaze and it was perfectly cooked. It came with two sides, and I chose the baked sweet potato and snap peas with carrots. The sweet potato was HUGE and the veggies were fresh and crisp. The chocolate lava cake dessert (which was my pick) was a hit with the whole table. They also have beignets served with ice cream and those were also delicious. I would definitely come back here for a special occasion dinner and drinks. Great value and delicious food.

After long highways and windy small roads, hubby and I reached this hidden gem. Very quaint, nautical, and intimate, it is nestled by the water in the middle of a neighborhood. There was barely any wait with a reservation. Due to restaurant week, waitstaff seemed overwhelmed and overworked (thus attentiveness was lower than norm). Drinks good, apps good, and main course good, there is really no room for complaint. Only thing is parking is dreadful when busy. P.S. Get those beignets!

Went to 15 Point Road with my family on Saturday night for Newport Restaurant Week...it was fantastic! We chose 15 Pt because of the menu they were offering for NRW...there were about 10 entrees to choose from...so great! They were extremely busy, and the service was a little slow, but I will let it slide since I am sure they are not used to being as busy as they were. Everyone in my party was thoroughly pleased with their meals (prime rib, salmon, scallops). The shared pitcher of red sangria was also equally loved by all. Dessert was amazing...the beignets are a MUST. Loved everything about this place, will definitely be back back!

I suggest it's best to make a reservation, unless you like sitting at the bar. My step Dad met Chris and his wife while walking my Dog " Louie". In Island Park . They struck up a conversation and mentioned he owned 15 Point Rd He invited us to stop by and have dinner. I ordered the salmon with polenta my step dad had the seafood casserole and my sister enjoyed the chicken with sweet potatoes . Everything was cooked to perfection. We had told the waitress to please let Chris know we came by and enjoyed ourselves. We would definitely go back.

Went with a group of friends last night. Shared some appetizers, the favorite was the lobster mac and cheese. In regards to the entree I had the drunken lobster penne, which was very good. All my friends liked there choices. We ended the night with shared desert including banana foster and the creme brulee..both were decent. The location is beautiful...right on the water. Quite windy, plenty of parking. My friends had the white wine sangria..which they loved. Prices were good. The best part about the night was the service. We were the last people in the restaurant for atleast 45 min in the end, service was impeccable till the end. They did not rush us..hats off to the staff..

We had a reservation for a seat in the bar, which I thought unusual, we arrived early and the hostess seemed flustered and was not helpful, put out that we arrived early. We were eventually seated at the bar, and ordered. The bar is small, was very noisy, but the service was adequate, the food was excellent. The lobster bisque was hot, tangy, with lots of lobster. The entree, stuffed cod was done just right, te stuffing was baked crispy, not soggy, with lots of seafood, the roasted potatoes were crispy on the outside ad tender in the center. It is a go back for the food, just don't expect to sit in the bar and enjoy a drink.

We were delighted at how delicious the food was at this restaurant. It was so outstanding that we returned for a second time later in the week. The second time was at least as just as the first time. The wait service was excellent, too! There are so many choices to pick from. We are foodies from New Jersey who eat out frequently at highly rated NYC restaurants. 15 Point Road was equal to the best restaurant we ever ate at. The owner was very gracious and welcoming to us as well. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious dining experience. We ate Scallops Block Island, Baked Stuffed Shrimp, Seafood Compton Bay, and the Chilean Sea Bass. OMG--delicious! This restaurant is a reason unto itself to return to the Newport RI area. I write this review with a heavy heart. I was contacted by the owner 8 months ago, and was asked (very politely) that I try the restaurant again and re-review it. He explained that he was going to add more vegetarian options to the menu (there were none the last time I went) and that he was going to change the bread that they serve before dinner. Let me start by saying the bread was MUCH improved! We asked for a second helping of bread we were so impressed! However, it makes me sad to say that once again I had to order off menu as there were no vegetarian options. Also, as evidenced by the pictures, I had a couple of wilted pieces of lettuce in my salad. They offered to bring it back, but really, it was only three or four pieces and I didn't see much of a reason to waste food as it was edible otherwise. The off menu option I had was pretty much the same as the last time. Penne a la vodka, but this time I asked for a variety of veggies as opposed to just asparagus. It was delicious. My mother's fish and chips on the other hand was odd. She is picky to be fair, but it seemed the batter around the fish (remember now, this is coming from a vegetarian, so take it with a grain of salt) was darker than it normally would be. And big! Really, really big! She ended up eating just the fish on the inside, and she said the fish was excellent. Also, I didn't notice the door banging this time. I don't know if they fixed that problem, but I was glad not to hear the bang, bang, bang! every time waitstaff would go through. Last but not least. Desert. Now, I have for about a week now been saying that the next place I went to that had chocolate lava cake I would save room for desert. And look at that! They had it! Of course I ordered it. I would have been a fool not to! Maybe it's just me, maybe there's two versions of a lava cake, but in my head I was thinking that when I first put my fork into it, that wonderful gooey chocolate would gush out. But that was not the case. The chocolate was flowing down from the top, and it tasted like Hershey's syrup. It was edible, but I was disappointed and ate the ice cream and whipped cream instead. I strongly suggest to try this place for drinks, and perhaps a nice lunch on a warm day, but I think I won't be back myself. For variety of food alone, unless I was with a group that all wanted to go, I just don't think for me that it's worth the trip over there. p.s. We didn't have a reservation and they still were able to sit us on the deck on a Saturday night. Mad props for that!

We went here last week for dinner, not having been to 15 Point Road in quite some time. This had been a regular stop for us over the years, and we had been here quite frequently in the past, going back to the previous two ownerships. There has been no particular reason that our visits have been less frequent, other than a change in life's priorities and schedules. The current owners have had this restaurant for several years, and it continues to rank high in our book. We had a wonderful meal! The clam chowder was a generous serving and was very tasty. It was not overly thickened, which pleased me. Our entrees were the Steak Diana, cooked exactly as ordered, and a seafood over pasta special that was excellent. The special featured pieces of lobster, scallops and shrimp in a lightly creamed tomato sauce, which I asked to be served over angel hair, rather than penne. The food was delicious. We stopped just short of licking the plates. Service was efficient and professional. While not a "cheap" night out, the prices were reasonable for value received. We quite enjoyed ourselves.

Decent food but nothing to write home about. The biggest issue I had is that they were out of THREE things we tried to order! We were very disappointed because two of the choices they were out of were items we specifically came to this restaurant for, after viewing the menu online. If we would have been notified before we ordered ("FYI, we're out of..." it might have been acceptable, but three separate times we got excited about a menu item, ordered, and then we're disappointed. The service was also lackluster. Our server seemed embarrassed that they were out of everything we wanted, so she stopped trying. Other servers were also hanging out gossiping right by our table, which I though was pretty unprofessional.

The new folks have kept some of the classics (baked stuffed shrimp, baked scallops, etc.) but jazzed up the apps and the menu a bit. We brought another couple with us, had drinks, two appetizers, steaks and seafood entrees and all were both pleased with the food and the bill wasn't crazy either. Last comment - same as the first - nice place, nice people, great food. Highly recommended (and we're locals.)

Amazing location. Nice Interior, though a tiny bit cramped. Our server Ethan did a good job at all phases of the meal. We shared two appetizers the calamari and a special corn fritter and cup of chowder. The chowder is very good(4 out of 5 stars). Lobster corn fritters were great too. The calamari was cooked perfectly with a great aioli on it, the cocktail sauce on the side was a little blah though. The salads were nice. I chose what I thought was a raspberry vinaigrette but turned out to be closer to a raspberry French dressing. For entrees my fiancée had the steak au poivre that was cooked perfectly but had too much sauce on it. I had the bay seafood dish which was lobster, shrimp and scallops over a puff pastry. It was delicious, the lobster may have been a tad overlooked but still delicious. We both found our vegetables to be undercooked(better than overlooked!). The carb sides were both small. For dessert she chose cheesecake and I chose carrot cake. The carrot cake frosting was good but the cake was the worst I've had. The cheesecake was average. All in all I think we will go again.

Found this place on here when I was looking for a place to surprise my boyfriend with. Also found a nice Restaurant.com coupon that we took in with us (but we made sure to tip on the full amount (: ) I think the place is nice, seemed clean and the staff was on top of it. The decorations are a TINY bit dated but whatever we had a really nice date! My dirty gin martini was very good and my boyfriend's wine was delicious and chilly. We got the caprese salad and the basil was scrumptious. I also liked the spice of the cracked pepper corn on top. I asked for my filet minion to be medium rare and it was a TAD over done. Just a tad, still delicious, tender, and relatively juicy. But it was a bit over "medium rare". My boyfriend's french fries were undercooked by a bit too. But he said he really liked the fish with the fish and chips. Also there was an aioli that came with the filet and I don't know what it was but it was effing GOOD. It had some sort of Thai/Indian flavor to it that I thought went very well with the filet. Salads were good as were the sides. They were also attentive to the fact that I requested being seated near a window. The host was very nice and came by and checked on us. The view was very nice! Overall I thought it was a really nice date night. Not too pricey at all, I think the pricing is very reasonable for the quality of food you get. Also the AMOUNT of food you get. We were STUFFED! If you're looking for a place on the water with the option for outdoor seating, very reasonable prices on both food and bar, with a tasty outcome of each, this is the place for you. I recommend it!

As a Portsmouth resident, the dining choices in our town are rather meager. One could "leave the island" and find many nice locations in Bristol, or drive ALL the way to the other end of the island to Newport, and be swarmed by heedless tourists, regardless what time of the year it is. So, to give to the local economy, you have about 9 choices in Portsmouth, with 6 of them being pizza places. Now don't get me wrong, I love my fair share of pizza and truly appreciate the variety that Portsmouth offers (must be a lot of Italians here?), but when it comes to fine dining, there are very few options. Given this, I would say that 15 Point Road is the best choice you have for fine dining, without leaving the town. Personally, it is the go to spot for any birthday in my family. Most recently, I went there for my mothers birthday of which we went on the third night of celebrating.The one thing I like about this fine dining location, is that, if I were to go to any of the 8 other reasturaunts, I would see people from my high school. To this day, I have yet to run into anyone at 15PR. This is a definite plus. So, on the night after the storm on one of the last nights of 2012, my roomates (mom, dad and myself) brave it for 15PR. We are immediately welcomed by a charming staff, that seat us immediately. The ambience is inspiring, romantic, charming. It has great lanterns and candles that really give the room some spirit, and it is very small, so that you almost feel that you are in a private room. While we were there at night, I did know that the water was just beyond the windows and would serve for an even better background. For tonight, I just had to use my imagination. My brother, his wife, and baby soon arrived and lightened the quiet, romantic, atmosphere. Now while Yelp does say that this reastuaunt is not good for "kids" my niece is very well behaved, so they did not seem to have a problem. The rest of the restaurant was definitely all +16, with the majority +55. The dinner started out per usual, except my dad didn't order any drinks. I think this is because the night before, he was at his ski club reunion, and got a little too rowdy. This resulted in my boyfriend and I waiting at the bottom of a ski mountain for him, and him not showing up! I got the cab, my brother got a mix, my mom got the pinot, and my SIL got a diet coke. The baby had water. Conversation was a little tame, however, we were definitely the loudest in the room. For a party of 6, the portion is a little small, so we normally order 2. However, my brother also scoops half the plate into his mouth the first time around, so maybe if your table is a little more generous it can last longer. We try to plan strategically to not only make the resturaunt more affordable, but also to try new things!! I ordered the papparadelle pasta. This is long egg noodles with a thick, creamy, spinach parmesan sauce. The first time I ordered this, I had to make sure it was not like spinach soup, that the sauce would not be green. When they say spinach, they mean that there are just spinach leaves in the creamy paramsean sauce. Thank gosh!! It is THE BEST. Around the table, was striped bass ( I had a bite, it was fresh), surf and turf, and stuffed shrimp. Oh, and the wine, was fabulous and came in extra large pourings! For desert, I got the lava cake, which had just the right portion of chochlate sauce inside. Some reasturaunts put too much, so you can't event taste the cake. I got to enjoy the lavish cake, as well as a nice dressing of lava. All in all, I know I will be coming back here at the next birthday (my brother's in feb), and I can expect nothing but the best. I am proud, as a Portsmouth resident, that we have such a fine dining in town, so that those who do not want to travel a far( the 5 miles to Newport, or off island) and can still enjoy the freshest seafood, and excellent service. I think my only negative of the evening would be that the waitresses all looked identical, so it was sometimes hard to figure out which one was ours. However, she had her A game on, so we only needed to ask for more soda once, so there was almost no need to tell them apart.

One of our top three favorite places to eat on the Island. Have never been disappointed in the food or the staff. Brought my parents here who hardly ever go out anymore and they could not stop gushing about how great they thought it was. The final kicker is that they make a Irish Coffee so good you could imagine you are at the Buena Vista in San Francisco.

Cheery and helpful, professional staff did a very god job on an overcrowded night. The kitchen was certainly overwhelmed, and our serving was delayed quite a bit, but the staff kept us informed and happy. My Lobster Fra Diavolo was a nicely spiced combination of perfectly cooked lobster and al dente pasta, marred by the flavor of raw tomato paste. A good red sauce shouldn't be this difficult. The Baked Brie appetizer is generously sized, and certainly planned to be a table plate and not for a single person. The Beignets and Ice Cream dessert is portioned nicely for sharing as well. The view from the deck outside on a Summer night must be fantastic.

At the request of the owner I went back for another shot. I went with my two young children. One entree, a beer, two kid sodas, two kid meals for 36 bones. First the good-- Kids Mac and cheese- It was a homemade white sauce. I applaud the attempt to actually produce something good for kids rather than out of the box nuclear orange concoction. Fries with Kids chicken fingers were solid. Chicken fingers were the ubiquitous frozen restaurant offering. Maybe a rethink is necessary?? Entree was the special salmon with chili sauce. Best part of the dish was the veggies. Julienne cut squash with snow peas with herbs. perfectly cooked. Salmon was cooked fine maybe a minute long. Chili sauce was weak-- it was the jarred sweet chili sauce you can find in any international aisle at the grocery. Fingerling potatoes were lightly seasoned. felt like the potatoes needed something a fresh herb maybe?? Service-- attentive but misled at times-- Two placesettings were on table when we sat down with three people--Never added until I had to ask for extra cutlery when the entrees came. Never addressed an empty water glass or beer bottle. All in all, I wish 15 Point well and hope that this locally owned business keeps efforting to improve. Nice open place with good views on the Sakonnet.

I am going to give it two stars because for the majority of the going out to eat public, it is fine. I will say, that if I had a free meal for 2 gift certificate I would give it away, I will not go back under any circumstances. The glasses and silverware were dirty, but who cares right? Not an indication of anything right? The view is fine. The interior, while bland, 1970s as one reviewer put it, is at least much cleaner that the eating equipment. If your purpose of going out to eat is to eat standard mediocre food as supplied by Sysco Foods, with perhaps a flourish of chopped parsley thrown at it to make it look "gourmet", this is your kind of place. If you don't mind ordering something like "split duck" and after being very specific the split means down the axis (a true half duck, front fore and aft quarters) not cross wise (two leg and thigh quarters) AND THEN STILL GETTING TWO HIND QUARTERS, cooked to death and dried out no less, then Enjoy!. Hey what did I expect: The one time I went years ago the food similarly sucked. I heard it was under new ownership and had greatly improved. Then I heard, from a neighbor, just as we were leaving to go, that it had the same cook who has been there for years, apparently an ex-Navy cook who knows how to make a mean 8000 pound meatloaf and 30,000 gallons of "beef flavor" gravy. As far as food goes, you are way better off at Fridays or Outback or a place like that. Those places at least follow the Sysco thawing and reheating instructions; they don't go off the reservation and get creative and ruin perfectly good pre-prepared factory food.

Stopped here last night from my way home from Logan and had a nice quick bite at the bar. The bartender was very nice and the crowd was mostly made up of regulars which is a good thing. I had a salad that was very good the lettuce was crisp and dressing was great. Had to stuffies and they were great. Highly recommend this spot.

Certainly a night of ups & downs. First off, we had a reservation but to the restaurant's defense, we had made it same-day. It was my brother's bday and we had forgotten it was Newport Restaurant Week. We ended up waiting at least 35 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. The gentleman at the door, who I think was possibly a manager, was nice and apologetic although he did say many times that our table was "being set" at that moment. Listen, I have a strong background in the restaurant industry. You are busy, I get it. But, I'd rather you not tell us that if it's not true. Our table clearly was not being set the 5 times you told us that while we waited. But, on the plus, he apologized more than once, and when he heard it was my brother's birthday, asked him his favorite drink and grabbed him a beer while we waited. That was certainly nice of him. We were finally seated and our server greeted us in a timely manner. I could tell it had been a long night. She was informative and got our order taken within ten minutes. Awesome, we were all starving at this point. Appetizers and bread came out at the same time, again within a reasonable time which was perfect. Meals followed nicely, my lobster from the Restaurant Week had barely any meat but I had expected so much since it was only a 1/2. Salmon and baked stuffed shrimp were great, sides of potatoes and squash were yummy. My mother's shrimp scampi on the other hand, tasted like someone had accidentally dumped an entire jug of pepper in it. Very hard to eat. She tried, I will give her that. It was so long that we saw the waitress that we had all finished our meals by the time she came over and my mom was able to say something. My mom told her that the linguine was not tasting right (she had ordered this dish here before) and that she was hoping she could get some new linguine to eat with her remaining shrimp. The waitress seemed very confused as to what my mom wanted, and never once apologized. She came back a few moments later with our desserts (they came with the Restaurant Week) and a to-go box for my mom. My mom had never asked for a to-go box, she was hungry and had wanted to eat, so she opened up the box, only to find that the linguine they had given her was cold. The waitress said "Oh I thought you had just wanted it to take home", and walked away from the table. It had almost seemed like they just rinsed her pasta off and boxed it up, but one should never assume. Either way, it was not treated in a manner prideful of the meal being served to a paying guest. On another plus, though, our server did come back with my brother's dessert, with a candle in it, and led us in a song of Happy Birthday. We couldn't be mad at her after that, but were still perplexed at the way the scampi situation had been handled. It was not taken off the bill, nor did a manager come speak to us just to even say sorry. Guess they just wanted us out of there, as we did end up being the last table to leave, after waiting so long to be seated. Overall, cute spot, but dreadful parking. Quality food, but not the best service I've ever had (at least on a busy night).

15 Point Road came recommended and our expectations were high after being seated on the patio and glancing at the menu. We started with the calamari, which came with a mayonnaise sauce on it and a Romesco sauce on the side. The dish was under seasoned and the sauces heavy and bland. Next was Sole "en brick" with a crispy crust with roasted potatoes, and I went for the deconstructed beef wellington - both ambitious dishes from the regular menu. The beef was "ooh and aah" worthy when it came to the table, as was the fish dish. The beef and mushrooms were properly cooked, as was the pastry, but bland and unseasoned. The pate was grainy and did not mesh well with the other flavors. The sauce was sweeter than I expected and not in a good way. Sides were sweet potato and steamed vegetables that were also very bland. Hubby said his sauce was also sweet and everything was unseasoned. The meal was very ambitious, but I would rather have had a more flavorful meal that didn't try so hard to impress. The presentation on all of the dishes being served was excellent and beautiful. The staff was impeccable, friendly and sincere. It's no wonder so many people return as regulars. We would give it another try, but choose other menu items.

I had the experience below and unfortunately it was not a great one. Everyone has bad days and I happened to catch one of them. The owner reached out to me directly. He was very kind and thoughtful regarding my experience. He went above and beyond to try to correct my unpleasant experience! You simply cant please everyone nor make everything go perfectly every day. How you respond and take the feedback into consideration means you have another chance in my future! We looked up a place to eat while in Portsmouth and thought this placed looked nice. Please don't be fooled by the view! I am giving it two stars because the person I was with said her burger was ok ... The service was horrible and my food was terrible! I had: Lobster Quesadilla With lobster, corn, cheddar-jack & scallions under a tossed garden salad The lobster was so dried out, it tasted like it had been in the freezer for days! Maybe its a good thing there was a real lack of the lobster in it. I had one bite that I tasted the a piece of corn and there was a real lack of scallions. I can't even download my pic on yelp! The reviews here are very misleading and you will be disappointed like myself if you go by them! I really, really, want to give them one star!

I guess they don't put much effort on vegetables. There is no salad on menu and the side salad comes with entree was wilted. The vegetable on the side of my bass had absolutely no taste and not cooked properly. The stuffy my husband had was one of the best in town, though. There are so much charm in the ambiance and they are trying to be gourmet. Do I go back? Not sure..

Ok, I will admit that I'm basing this update on the fact that the owner reached out to me and invited us back to try them again, stating that since our previous visit they have a new chef and have implemented some changes. I have to say we were quite pleased with our dining experience there last night. . . yes, the parking lot is still tiny (and to those who say parking on the street isn't a problem, they've probably never had their car hit or mirror knocked off. . . trust me, I know of what I speak), but we were able to get a spot this time. Anyway, the owner greeted us when we arrived and checked on us throughout the meal to make sure everything was going well. He seemed to do this with almost every party that came in, which was very nice to see. He seemed very energetic and enthusiastic, and most of all, sincere in making sure that every guest was having a pleasant experience. We started with the crab cakes, which were pretty much all shredded crab meat with little filler. I generally prefer lump crab cakes, but I couldn't find anything to complain about in regards to their taste at all. For entrees, my wife had the "Mount Hope Seafood" which was a ton of shellfish (lobster, shrimp, scallops) in a cream sauce over puff pastry, while I had the "Deconstructed Beef Wellington". We both enjoyed our entrees immensely. Very flavorful and well executed. Dinner came with a salad (love it when salads are included), which were pretty standard but nice and fresh, and a starch (mashed potatoes, rice, or fries) and veg (green beans last night). For dessert we had beignets with vanilla ice cream. . . yumm-o! Oh yeah, drinks were definitely not on the short pour side last night. Service again was efficient, professional, and friendly. I really wish we lived closer to this place. The owner seems to have really made strides in cuisine and overall presentation since we were there last year. We will definitely go back at some point though.

My husband and I had dinner here this past Sunday night. We ordered from the prix fixe menu which offered about 8 different entrees. The meal included a beverage, including wine or beer, an entree that came with a veggie and carb, and a dessert. EVERYTHING was delicious. We had a steak dinner and salmon dinner and shared both. The main menu looked wonderful as well as the prix fixe menu. We'll return to this restaurant at every opportunity!

I found this place on open table when trying to find an alternate for the boat house. I was very surprised at the quality of food at this place. It's a smaller place and not as fancy let's say as the Boat House. The food was awesome, I had duck which I never order out and omg it was so good. We also had grilled Tuna which was excellent and the drinks were also really good. I've been there 4 times now and I have not been disappointed once.

I'm just going to start by saying that those who are whining about the parking are either showing their age or their provinciality. Come on, people, this is New England... it's not like L.A. where every damb business has a 5-acre parking lot! Grow a spine and walk the block or two if the lot is full! Sheesh! There's a lot to like about 15 Point Road... the ambiance is pleasant, the lighting appropriately romantic and the decor clean, open and uncluttered. You certainly can't argue with the view (early evening, it seems to me, is the best time to dine here, as the twilight turns to darkness over the river). We visited on a Wednesday night, and it was full but not noisy. Our server, Eliz, was attentive, cheerful, charming and efficient. And owner Sean Smith could be seen buzzing about between the kitchen and the dining room, assuring that all was well. We started with a calamari appetizer, which was a special. This should definitely be placed on the regular menu. I know, EVERYBODY in RI has a calamari appetizer, but this one distinguished itself with a zesty garlic aioli (applied in just the right amount, enough to give the dish zing but not so much as to drown it), not to mention the fact that the pepperoncini slices were battered and fried along with the calamari. I've never seen it done this way, but am now convinced it's the way it should be done. The dinner salads were adequate... nothing to get too excited over, but it's pretty much par for the course for my significant other and I to not be excited by salad. Everything on the salad plate was fresh, so that's good. For our entrees, my sweetie had the Scallops Block Island, seared scallops in a light tomato sauce over angel hair pasta. The scallops were cooked perfectly, and there were a bunch of them (more than she could finish)! The sauce was advertised as light, and this was certaily true... perhaps too subltley seasoned. This is a fine line to walk, as you don't want the flavor of the scallops buried in a too-robust sauce. But here the chef may have erred on the side of subtlety. I had the Mount Hope Seafood, a house specialty: lobster, shrimp, scallops, tomatoes, tarragon & scallions sautéed in a wine cream sauce, served over a puff pastry. I thought I was letting myself in for a big disappointment, because the puff pastry seemed like something that could easily go south with a wine cream sauce... but this dish was really very good. The seafood was abundant and fresh, the sauce was robustly flavored with terragon (a favorite herb of mine, but if you don't know it and love it you might not want to gamble on this selection), and the puff pastry was... puffy! Wow! Very light and flaky, but crispy enough that it didn't collapse under all of that seafood and cream sauce. Well done! We were too full for dessert, so nothing to comment on there. I think 15 Point Road could easily graduate from a solid, reliable seafood reastaurant to a truly stellar establishment. All that's needed is some sort of signature salad that really stands out above the usual "mixed greens with grape tomatoes and dressing," and perhaps a slightly more aggressive or inventive hand with the seasoning. They certainly have their ingredients squared away... the seafood was all perfectly fresh, sweet and firm. And they've got a great location if you like dining while enjoying a gorgeous view. I fully expect our next visit will be a four-star affair.

A friend recommended this place for dinner and she made no mistake when telling me I would love it! The owner of the restaurant greets almost every guest at door, if he misses someone it is just because he is checking on tables, talking to the staff, making sure everyone is happy. It was my first time in this establishment and I felt like a regular! From the hostess, to the bar tender, to the servers, everyone is so attentive. It was a Saturday evening, I noticed they have a lot of regulars and they greet them all by their names, everyone seemed so happy! We sat at a hight table and ordered 2 Pineapple Upside Down martinis and a spicy shrimp appetizer, both HIGHLY recommended. The vibe at the bar of the restaurant was so good we wanted to sit there, they had no problem when we asked if we could move to the bar, they quickly helped us move our belongings and cocktails. We then ordered a lobster mac and cheese and a "specialty dish" it was pasta with scallops, shrimp and crab meat. Both super delicious and I was surprised to see both plates had more meat than we could finish! Their chef sure knows how to keep clients satisfied! Even the warm bread they offer was good! Ohh I almost forgot, before bringing the entrees, they bring you fresh salad, something I was not expecting and sure enjoyed! Dessert...talk about desert, we had the Beignetes, highly recommended too. And definitely portioned to share. By the time we left, I knew a few names already and I would like to congratulate and thank Sean and Carly for such a great dining experience! I can't wait to go back and this time seat by the windows to enjoy the beautiful view! I will recommend this place to all my friends!

Update: The owner of this location contacted me and made everything right. There were extunuating circumstances that were part of the reason our meal did not turn out correctly. The owner made up for this and I have to say the food was fantastic! We had a wonderful evening and would gladly recommend this loation in the future. My wife and I went here through Groupon and thought we would give it a try. Overall disappointing. Drinks cost per for coke so be careful on the refills. The food sounded great in theory but my scallops were rare and my wife's mahi was burnt and tasted like an old uncleaned grill. In addition, we ordered clam chowder which was never brought to us. At the end I also noticed a automatic tip..... I usually give 20 to 22 percent so they actually ripped themselves off in this case. Will not be going here again. I actually am feeling bad from the raw scallops. The only reason this isn't 1 star is the beautiful view and the good appetizer. My personal recommendation is skip, even with the 50% off deals they have been running all over the place including Groupon, Livingsocial and Restaurant.com .

Nice enough spot and on a crowded night parking would surely be a challenge. Fortunately This was a Tuesday night and quiet. We were greeted with very friendly staff and taken directly to a table with a fine view of the water. I ordered a drink and requested it without ice. It came with ice. The lobster bisque was too salty and barely had one piece of lobster in it and it was luke warm at best. I eas given a choice of mixed vegetables or roasted potatoes which I ordered. I got mixed vegetables. When I brought this to the attention of the server she quickly brought the potatoes with her apology. The entry was their local sole which was over cooked. Something I might expect in Montana but not in a restaurant 300 feet away from the ocean.

On a busy Friday night, Exceeded the high expectations I had from the first visit. Fabulous bacon wrapped scallop appetizer and a fried clam appetizer that was the best clam dish I ever had. Seafood pasta with "pink vodka sauce" was great and had about as much shrimp, scallop, lobster, and crabmeat as pasta. Now on my list to get there every couple of months or so for a meal.

My husband and I had a fantastic dinner here on their lovely deck, overlooking the Sakonnet River. Service was wonderful, as was the food. Clam chowder was very flavorful. My husband said his baked stuffed shrimp were some of the best he has ever had. My sweet potato caked salmon with polenta was delicious and very different. I highly recommend saving room for the beignets, they were Amazing!!!

Tried this on recommendation of someone and also because they are on restaurants.com . Everything was very good. Veal Madeira excellent. Had the seafood bisque, which, at first glance did not look like a "traditional" bisque but was excellent. Warm bread served at the table. Also had a lobster/veal over pasta, very tasty.

This place is overpriced and overrated and the parking sucks. We went here because of a LivingSocial coupon. i wish I would have saved my money. The food was so bland. I ordered the N 15 Diana Steak and my boyfriend got the Mahi Mahi. Both were subpar. My steak was overcooked and bland. Though the vegetables were very good,but i didn't spend $25 for some damn vegetables. The Mahi Mahi was dry. My boyfriend extremely vocal with his dissatisfaction. Yes the atmosphere is nice, but the best thing was walking out of this place.
