I've been to this cafe twice for lunch recently. I enjoyed the food but both times I thought the service was a little lackluster. There wasn't anything blatantly offensive, it just didn't really feel that friendly. I think I'll go back soon to try breakfast.

I have been here once before early in the morning, and it was packed so we decided to grab coffee elsewhere. I revisited this afternoon and enjoyed coffee with a friend. We sat at the tables on their sidewalk and it was lovely. The inside reminds me of being in someone's home but looks like it could get cramped for space easily on busy days.

Decided to try this place this morning as we live close by and thought maybe it would be a new Sunday am tradition. I was wrong. I ordered a muffin and my husband ordered an egg white wrap. After 20 minutes or so, I walked inside to check on the status as there was only a couple other people in the place. I walked in to see the girl behind the counter eating from a plate a food behind the display case. She handed me my muffin but said the egg wrap wasn't done and would be a few more minutes. When it came out, my husband couldn't eat more than half of it. Absolutely no flavor other than the peppers in it. A little salt and pepper would have helped. Very disappointed!!!

went back a couple weeks later + got GREAT service WITH A SMILE + no more crazy sexie time music. YAY! I'll be back :)

I only enjoyed an ice tea from this lovely coffee/sandwich shop while walking around Pawtuxet Village but everything looked great, friendly atmosphere and a nice place to hang out and relax. I'll def swing by again when I'm in the area. It was also super clean :)

Food here is Great. Everything from salad to salmon, toasted cheese, soup and scones are awesome. I do not recommend using the parking lot adjacent to the restaurant uness you really like to do 12 point turns.

My cousin introduced me to this place last year and I have been going there ever since l! Their Apple walnut salad is out of this world! Their baked goods are amazing also! The staff are amazing and so welcoming! Love this place!

I came here with my friend Frank and was so happy he took me here. I never knew this area of RI existed (typical RI person I know I stayed in my Coventry/EG area) but now i am so glad i know this place exists! This breakfast/lunch place has a nice cozy feel to it. They have a nice assortment of pastries/ breakfast choices/teas/coffees/sandwiches etc. I got an egg scramble with sourdough bread and it was really good and its not pricey! I'm glad I have another breakfast place to go to whenever I'm home!

I stopped by for the first time and took my kids. Pros: food was delicious. My iced coffee was perfect! I'm definitely going back to try other items. Prices are reasonable. Cons: Service was a little slow as mentioned above. Staff seems friendly but could smile a little more. Decor although nice is very tight. I enjoyed it here. They just need to fix a few things imo. Definitely go.

This is probably the fifth or sixth time I've come here, thinking "it couldn't possibly have been as bad last time as I think it was." Won't make the mistake again. Pros: location, decor Cons: owner and staff not particularly friendly, unapologetic about screw ups, takes 35-45 minutes to get a sandwich or salad when the place is near empty. There are plenty of other nice places in Pawtuxet Village within a 90 second walk of this place. Don't make the mistake of coming here.

Cute coffee shop in the heart of Pawtuxet. The staff are super awesome and friendly and they have a rotating menu of goodies. Coffee is decent, not necessarily anything really special, but it's a good price and a nice selection. The food is really good, though. Simple but creative breakfast and lunch items with fresh ingredients. I'm vegan and always manage to find something I can have and enjoy. The decor is boho random hippie. It can get cramped and busy, but the atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming. This is my go-to stop for coffee and breakfast in the morning when I don't have time at home. I definitely recommend anyone to come check it out.

Cute little breakfast spot in the heart of Pawtuxet. Great breakfast sandwich and tea selection! Unfortunately the wait is a bit long but if you aren't in a hurry a casual little place with outdoor seating.

I just can't believe how slow the kitchen is! Can't review the food cause its been 45 min for two sandwiches. Never again to visit this one

This is my go-to in the village for a breakfast sandwich and an iced French roast. They make my egg to order, have cheese selections beyond American, and let me choose bagel or croissant (for those times when I want to throw caution to the wind). The service is pleasant, albeit insanely slow. This comes from the fact that they don't have a full kitchen in back, just some hot plates. Because of the regulars, preparation takes time...and I mean time; hope you have no place to be. Major downsides include clutter - too many things everywhere, and furniture scale is way off - too big for a small space. And finally, everything feels dirty, like it has a layer of smutz on in. Nothing a good scrub of bleach can't fix, right after you post a bunch of stuff on craigslist. And I mean the latter suggestions in the most loving and constructive of ways. I'm sure I'll be seeing you in the next 10 days.

Went recently with my boyfriend and ordered something like a quiche except crustless, with a side of potatoes, and a side salad. Overall, food was good. The potatoes aren't like traditional home-fry potatoes; less butter. Not sure if it's boiled then pan-friend, or pan-friend raw. The added side salad was a refreshing option. Service was good and staff seemed friendly, but I could imagine if it was busier, service may take a while.

I go out to breakfast with my father every Sunday. We're always looking for new and different places. We've been here before, but not recently because there are so many good breakfast places, and I've always felt like this place has attitude. But we decided to try it today. Well. Attitude doesn't even begin to cover it. More like, they're doing the customers a favor by existing. Service is brisk and rude, the counter help is clueless, and my food didn't come as ordered (though it was tasty, hence the two stars). Additionally, it's hard to maneuver in there because it's so packed with tables. So. Lousy service, clueless help, food order incorrect, no free coffee refills, and the place isn't comfortable in any way. Don't think we'll be going back.

This is a good neighborhood option. The food is good and the service is typically nice. The egg and cheese on a croissant is a favorite of mine, although I've had a sandwich or two that have been pretty good. The coffee is self service and decidedly average. There are a large number of options, but I think it could do them good to have less options and refill the containers more often. I do wish they wiped down the tables more often though. When I want a bite but don't want to venture to far from home, I often find myself here. It's a good option if you are in the area, but by no means a destination.

We wandered in here for a quick bite around 11 am. The place was bustling with a brunch/lunch crowd. Despite the business, our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered a scone and my husband ordered a cinnamon roll. We expected that they would just throw those on a plate, nuke it for a few seconds, then give it to us, but the presentation of the cinnamon roll was great. The kitchen had added a strawberry to it with additional drizzles of cinnamon. The cinnamon roll tasted very fresh and neither too sugary nor too cinnamon-y. The cranberry scone was also good, but nothing super special. The prices were very reasonable. We had expected to spend around $13 for 2 coffees, the cinnamon roll, and scone, but it was only $8. The weekday breakfast special is impressive, too: eggs, toast, and hash browns for $2.65. The cafe has free wifi, but I wouldn't expect to be able to get work done on a Sunday morning/afternoon. Maybe it is quieter during the week. My only complaint about this place was that they were so busy in the back that they did not seem to be monitoring the coffee closely up front. I had to bring the empty coffee container up to the front and wait for them to brew more decaf. Otherwise, the Waters Edge Cafe is wonderful!

I visited The Water's Edge Cafe for the first time on Saturday morning with three other people. It was kind of a nightmare finding a spot for all of us to sit together. Once we secured two tables next to each other, we ordered our breakfast. I had a breakfast sandwich on a bagel, with a side of homefries ($2!!!), and a hot latte (nothing fancy). For all that: $11. Okay, whatever, I had almond milk in my latte, fine. After we had all ordered, we went back to our table. My three friends had their beverages before I did, and approximately 15 minutes later, my latte came out. The girl at the counter had helped and served about 10 people in between taking my order for a latte and actually making it. A little while after that, our food came out. Everything was SO, SO, SO salty. The potatoes were almost inedible to me they were so salty. I had already questioned the status of my latte prior to receiving the food, and received an attitude from the counter girl ("I LITERALLY haven't even had a MOMENT to do it. It is SO busy."), so I opted to not send my breakfast back to the kitchen. It was hot, cramped, and not super duper clean, I just wanted to move on and leave. I think that in a small community with various other options for breakfast, they need to make an effort to keep people coming back. I will not return, I'd rather spend my $11 on breakfast "LITERALLY" anywhere else.

We first started going here when we moved to Edgewood a few years ago and the place was under different ownership then it currently is. While the vibe has changed a bit and they have done some re-decorating the place is still consistently what it was when we first started going there. Good place to grab a breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee. The salads and lunch sandwiches are good as well. The food sometimes takes a little too long to come out but it's pretty good. Can't really say the place has blown me away but it is a good spot to meet up with somebody for a midweek lunch date, or maybe an informal working lunch. I have recently seen them advertising a weekend brunch with free champagne cocktails. I think it would be worth a try. Stay tuned for the brunch review! Wouldn't go out of my way to eat at this place, but it is a nice Pawtuxet Village staple and I'm happy to have it there as an option. It has more potential then it is currently tapping into...I just hope it can get there.

I like Waters Edge. First off - love the Pawtuxet Village location. I've headed over for lunch during week with colleagues, or a morning coffee meeting. The food has always been good and the service has been friendly and efficient when I've visited. Order at the counter, and then service at whatever table you sit at. Not a huge place, and there is parking in the lot, but the lot is tight and fills quickly. Never a far walk from street parking in Pawtuxet!

I have been here 3 times since moving to Providence. The staff is always nice and helpful! When I have family come visit I always take them here for breakfast or brunch. It is nice to have a local place that you are treated well.

My girlfriend and I were visiting my sister, who recently moved to Providence. I had found this place online and thought, this might be nice, and suggested we get in the car and make the trip. Upon walking in, we were greeted by a nice cashier who took our order. From there it was all downhill. We sat down, waiting for our food. I ordered Dee's Salmon, which wasn't bad. My girlfriend and sister ordered lox on the run. We were shortly informed that they only had enough lox to make one of the sandwiches, so we had to settle with one bagel and cream cheese. We were then informed a few minutes later that there was no lox, so we changed another order. Heres's where the fun starts. We were later brought a lox on the run - funny because they supposedly ran out. We said that we were asked to change our order because of this shortage, and they took it away and gave it to the people who came in after us! The server stated we confused the crap out of her, which was a blatant lie, because she hadn't vacated her bowels! All joking aside, I won't be returning. Not only were we dissatisfied with our service and the dishonesty of the staff, I felt like a dummy for making the suggestion to go. I left with an egg on my face - pun intended. I almost gave two stars, but decided there was a lot they could have done better.

The owner is so miserable and rolls her eyes if you ask her for anything. The cook is sweating and wiping his face with a rag and never washes his hands. A dirty mop and bucket is in the establishment ! Filthy! There is a chalk board with quotes, maybe the owner should read and live by those quotes rather than treating her customers like they are bothering her. I will never again eat at this place. Yuk

I went here today for the first time, and I was not impressed. It took about 20 minutes for my sandwich to arrive, and when it did, the bread was dry and stale- definitely not worth the money or the wait. Almost every table in there was dirty, and the young girl working there didn't really seem to like her job whatsoever. It wasn't horrible, but I definitely wouldn't return here again.

Food: Pretty good, very good croisants/bagels, coffee was mediocre Prices: Typical for the area $13 can feed family of 3 pastry/coffee or juice Atmosphere: Trendy/cute but def not set up for kids more of a breakfast date or coffeehouse vibe Staff: Courteous but slightly clueless, we were told 3 different stories on when the breakfast "cook" would be in and finally settled on premade baked goodies. Good time, cute area, suggest for a date/hangout to read the newspaper.

My fiance and I wandered in today for a late breakfast, and I'm sorry to say that our experience was very, very poor. We walked in to see the cook quite literally scowling in the corner; which in hindsight should have been a big red flag. We waited at the counter for a bit before being helped, which really was't a problem for us because we had never been there before and needed the time to look over the menus, however if we had been regulars I would have been upset at being ignored for as long as we were. We eventually both settled on the poached egg special, which according to both the menu and the display plate in the case came with two poached eggs atop two grilled English muffins, fresh spicy mango salsa, spinach, and some blackberries as garnish. Nearly 30 minutes after placing our order, our food finally arrived...complete with grilled bits of greasy sausage mixed in with the entire dish. My fiance is unable to digest meat, and even the smallest bit will make her very ill, so I explained to the woman who delivered our food that the sausage was not supposed to be part of our dishes, and that we didn't want it. She brought back only one of our plates and I watched as the cook argued with her behind the counter. I'm not sure what she was arguing about because, again, neither the menu nor the demo plate had sausage. Since she only offered to fix one meal even though neither of us ordered sausage on our plates, I figured I'd just suck it up and pick mine off. 30 seconds later, the cook reappears and throws a plate down on the back counter before shooting a nasty look towards our table. The manager brought it out and set it down in front of my fiance who cut in to it....only to find more meat; several large pieces hidden under the eggs and in the spinach. I picked the plate up and walked it back to the counter, only to be looked at and ignored until another girl finally walked over and asked what was wrong. I explained the entire problem again, and I made it very clear that there should be NO meat on this plate (I had given up on trying to get mine fixed), and that it was not just that my fiance didn't WANT to eat it; she CAN'T eat it, period! The girl said "Yeah, ok", took the plate from me and walked away without ever coming back. There was no offer to fix it, no offer to reimburse us, no offer to get us something else...nothing. The manager watched the entire exchange from behind the counter and said nothing, instead making a cup of coffee for another customer who arrived after I had. I stood there for another minute or so before frustration got the better of me and we just walked out, $30 lighter and with empty bellies. What a horrible experience. This establishment was completely unable to perform to their own menu, the attitudes we encountered were all indifferent if not downright sour, and there was a complete lack of any regard for the health and safety of a customer with a special, and very simple, dietary need. We will NEVER be back.

Intimate and relaxing spot. There is a new owner who is very nice and works really hard to keep the place going. I can imagine it taking a lot of work. The chicken cesar wrap is delicious and it's quite a plateful. The pastries are fresh and the coffee is hot. I went in last Sunday for brunch and they had a guy playing a guitar and a girl playing the violin which I enjoyed while eating my eggs. Over all it's a great spot to chill and meet new people.

Waters Edge Furniture Gallery & Cafe 2190 Broad Street Cranston, RI 02905 (401) 941-9158 I posted the correct name above, that this place also doubles as an antique store is a laugh riot. They have maybe 2 pieces of newer pressboard furniture, and some nick nacks. And I'll be paddywhacked if I give this place another chance..The first time I went in maybe 2 years ago, it was totally empty, it took 20 minutes to get my sammich(which was great btw), and the old guy working there was scolding the young girl helping me. The only thing worse than witnessing customers freak out on staff is when staff/owners freak out on staff. Today I got an older lady who pretty much rolled her eyes when I asked for an iced coffee. I felt intrusive when I walked in, and I go out of my way with manners, eye contact, smile, etc..Hey babe, I've BEEN there ok?! I work in the service arena now. Jeez. It's nice to be nice.
(2)Kim S.
Very cute spot! I came here on a Saturday with my daughter for breakfast. The place was buzzing and had an awesome vibe. They didn't have a huge selection of typical breakfast choices, but for pastries and the like they were fully stocked...and the peanut butter cookie was AMAZING!
(4)Bill M.
Hello, my wife and I returned for a weekday morning coffee and bite to eat and all was good. The staff was friendly, service was good, and the portions and quality were good. As noted previously, this place may be more geared toward a quick bite, and not a full breakfast menu on a busy weekend. We are glad to say will be back!
(4)Adam C.
I like it here. Food is tasty, service is friendly. It's a great spot to stop for coffee and a bfast sandwich, or a quick sandwich or salad at lunch. It's nothing spectacular, but I always enjoy it when I go and I'm never disappointed in the food.
