Best Sushi I've ever had! High quality fresh ingredients! My favorites are the Nguyen Roll and the angry shrimp roll. I've never had anything that wasn't delish! The service is good most times and sometimes you can get the always cranky waiter Justin. It is pricey but so are all hibachi restaurants. Tip: On a budget? Order the Chicken Fried Rice from the A'la carte section. Its a huge serving for $7.95. We usually order 3 or 4 rolls and the chicken fried rice and its more than enough for 4 people to share it all. And its BYOB!

Great discovery! The BEST sushi. Fresh and flavorful. Pistachio crusted sea bass and king salmon were perfect. Beautiful decor and subtle music. Top of the line waiter. Owner competent and gracious. Spread the word - worth the drive.

This is the best place for sushi in town! I always get the Nguyen roll, but I'm sure the other rolls are great as well. I have also tried their steak and did enjoy that too. The service here is also wonderful. The owner, Kevin, always remembers my name and comes over to ask how our meal is going. My friend and I used to go every Sunday for sushi, but they are now closed on Sundays. Bummer.

Free dessert on anniversary. Service very good and speedy. A hearty Miso and crab soup, not typical for most places. Large ginger salad. Miso glazed sea bass was a very generous portion, though they were out of the lobster cream sauce it came with. Spicy filet mignon was very good as well. ...it comes cut up so don't be suprised. I think they may do it because I don't think they actually serve a prime piece of filet...still good meat. Only bad part was it felt like it was 100 degrees. No ac...Byob as well

Nguyen is a higher grade Asian restaurant. They actually serve Thai ice tea and Asian beverage choices. Their avocado smoothie was out of this world. My daughter liked their mango smoothie. The menu is extensive and their soup is really good. The food presentation is absolutely fabulous. They take pride in how they prepare and deliver their food. Wait until I post my pic! Their prices are obviously higher than your regular Asian fast food joint, but for the most part...rightfully so. Although the food presentation was top notch, other than my phenomenal seafood soup, I haven't had a main course choice that tasted as "out of this world" as it looked. I wish I could remember what the name of my choices were. They just didn't have a lot of flavor. If I heard their names...I would remember. I was only there twice so maybe I just did not choose wisely. That was my only disappointment because the bill was high, and the appearance was amazing, but I think next time I will try the avocado lover roll, or crab cake choice... Or read yelp in search of recommendations...OR just have beverage, soup and desert. But either way...I WILL be back. I am posting pics. Unfortunately, I couldn't help but down my avocado smoothie before taking a snap of it. I am very sorry that I forget the name of my entrée. I think it started with a "P" and in the description, it says it is served with "plum sauce". If you ever get it, you might want to ask for extra plum sauce. It was not that tasty after the delicious shrimp was eaten. We had Pho soup and seafood soup, avocado smoothie and mango smoothie. My daughter got a rainbow roll.

Great restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation, as it is a very popular spot to dine, and for good reason. It is also an extremely tiny and cramped space inside too. The service is hit and miss, at least from my handful of experiences. I can overlook it because the food trumps it. The food is an awesome value overall. Everything I have had there is savory/flavorful; and they give you quite a bit of it. The dinners include a very nice salad with a very tasty ginger dressing and some soup in addition to a huge portion of food. I always end up taking the leftovers home, which is fine, as I can enjoy it again. ;o) The appetizers are top notch like the egg/spring rolls. The sushi is as good as it gets. When I took my daughter for her birthday, she ordered a wide variety of sushi. She travels quite a bit with her job, and dines out quite a bit. With that being said, she stated that their sushi is some of the best she has ever had. I always get vegetarian sushi, and it's outstanding. They were also sweet to present a complimentary and beautifully presented slice of chocolate cake as a lovely birthday gesture. I read some of the other reviews on here that those particular patrons got free wine. I am not sure how that was possible, as this is a BYOB restaurant. And so, however that worked, I guess I somehow missed out on that one!

From the salad to the dessert I enjoyed every bite. Food tastes fresh and not like it was sitting in some freezer for weeks. Lots of options if you really like seafood and sushi. There are however two downsides, the seating and price. First, the seating feels a bit too narrow. I'm about 145 lbs at 5'6 and I can say I was bumping elbows and having to scoot every time someone behind me was getting in or out. Second is price which I can understand but doesn't justify it 100%. Yes it's "upscale" for Uniontown and it's one of a kind with this area but is worth it? In my opinion I don't think so for the seating area and smaller than average portions. But food is always good.

Great food. I've enjoyed every roll I've had here. Appetizers are good too, however I have had two issues. First, they tend to run out of the best appetizers so you are never guaranteed to get them when you eat here. Second, the one time I ordered (non) crispy spring rolls they were stuffed with nothing but cilantro. Other than that, I am a huge fan and will not get sushi from any other place in the Pittsburgh area. BYOB here.

This is a great find. Wonderfully savory food. Fantastic soup. The grilled king salmon was perfect. And the sushi was fresh and tasty. It turns out the owner is the guy making sushi. He is obviously a master chef and expert sushi artist. He is charming and welcoming without being overbearing. Who writes about the waiter? Our waiter worked like he was an owner and we were his only customers. His food descriptions and recommendations were spot on. This is reasonably priced great food in a very lovely restaurant in a culinary desert. I couldn't believe I was in a nondescript strip shopping center when I came outside.

If I could, I would give it 3.5 Stars but you can't so ~ This is not your typical Vietnamese restaurant but more of an upscale one with associated higher prices. There are some "typical" dishes but they seem to have more steak and seafood entrees here than usual. They also offer Sushi. I say higher prices but if you get a dinner selection, it comes with both a delicious fried onion soup as well as a salad with a very good ginger dressing - so I guess it really isn't a higher price! The Red Curry Shrimp in a Coconut Cream sauce was very good, with an almost amazing amount of shrimp in the dish. The Pistachio Crusted Halibut with a Lobster Cream Sauce was also very good, although, for my taste, it could have been taken off the grill just a little sooner. Again, the portion size was large. So along with some Chicken Fried Rice, there was no room for dessert. Before tax & tip, the bill came to around $55.00 (Nguyen is a BYO) Well worth a visit!

This is a great find! I am originally from California where good food can be found at the blink of an eye. As I was traveling for my job I found this place on yelp and was happy I stopped in. This place is awesome. Definitely loved all of the fresh sushi and the Vietnamese flavors. Great atmosphere, Great Service, Generous portions! 5 of 5 - definitely!

Best restaurant in Uniontown! The place is nice and clean. Friendly staff and delicious food!

Stopped by this place on the way through PA and was glad we did. Service started a little slow but I'm assuming that they were having an unusually busy night. Once we were seated, we had plenty of time to look through the menu and at first glance, it looks expensive. I had the steamed Chilean sea bass over spinach and although it took a while to come out he portion was surprisingly large and the plate was decorated beautifully (the picture does it no justice.) The sea bass also came with a salad and a soup and they were both well made. The soup was a little too salty but worked well coming after the salad. As the night wore on, the service picked up and the server was very attentive. The place looks a little sketchy on the outside (in the middle of a small plaza in a small town) but very well decorated on the inside.

This is my choice when asked where I want to have dinner! Beautiful surroundings. Great food! Large selection!

We are here for the first time this evening. My wife and I ordered two specialty rolls which were very good. We were told how good the sushi was at this place and it lives up to the hype. My wife ordered chicken lettuce wraps which were good. After asking the waitress about a general tso's type dish she recommended the Sweet Saigon Chicken dish. It came out lightly breaded with a bit of 'sauce' on top with fried rice on the side. One bite into the chicken and it was TERRIBLE! The sauce was terrible, tasted like a cheap catsup. When she came back to the table she asked how everything was and I asked her to take the dish. Once taken back to the kitchen she waited about 15 minutes and asked if I would like anything else which I ordered pad thai. She asked of I wanted to take the chicken home and I stated no. Fast forward to after the pad Thai and the manager came to apologize about the chicken. No big deal it happens just nothing like general tso's as states by the waitress. Surprise surprise...when it was time for the bill she the waitress asked f the manager explained anything as I stated no. Well they knocked 5 and change off the bill of 75.00 and made me pay for the returned dish. I asked for that dish to go since I was paying there was no way in hell I wasn't taking it even to throw away. Talk about throwing money away! Either way it was my first and last so I hope they are able to turn that 20.00 into 200,000.00 because they will never get a cent from me.

What a surprise gem. Fresh ingredients, not overly salty like so many, and wonderfully diverse sushi selection. Had two amazing tasting and well presented rolls. Floored.

I LOVE this place. I frequent here for lunch and dinner. The staff is so friendly. Kevin, Katie, Justin and everyone know me by name and what I'm ordering before I do. For dinner I highly recommend the macadamia nut encrusted sea bass. It's phenomenal. They have some of the best sushi around. You can't go wrong eating here.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch when we were looking for a place to eat other than the restaurants at Nemacolin. We were glad we did. The staff was helpful - our waitress wasn't sure about certain menu details, because they'd just changed the menu when we arrived, but was perfectly willing to go back and ask the chef questions. My wife had one of the vegetarian dishes and thought it was very well-done and tasty. She also thought the miso soup was good. My soup was the french onion - it was good, but just not to my personal taste, so my wife ended up finishing my soup. I had the savory spicy chicken as my main course. It was tasty but was very, very spicy. I expected it, but be aware that the spicy food here is indeed very spicy. I also had the california roll add-on to my meal, which was well made and also tasted good. One caveat - the savory spicy chicken was listed on the menu as coming with steamed rice. It did, but the menu hadn't indicated the chicken sauce was also on the rice, meaning the rice was also very spicy. I ended up ordering some plain white rice to eat with my spicy chicken, and they brought that to me quickly upon request. This restaurant also serves Coca-Cola, for people who care about soda-pop.

Their specials are bomb, their sushi is to die for, the staff is super friendly and the atmosphere and great and clean.. I don't have one bad thing to say. I LOVE Nguyen's.

This is hands-down the best restaurant in Uniontown. Their lunch specials are fantastic - you get a ton of food at a great price. Tremendous value! Sushi chef Kevin drives down from Pittsburgh daily with fresh fish. The care and effort he puts into his delicious craft is fantastic. Fayette County residents should consider themselves lucky to have this eatery in town.

The best kept secret in Uniontown! Tell everyone you know about this place! Moving from Colorado, I've been looking for Vietnamese in the area, found it! And to boot they've got amazing sushi! Just can't say enough about this restaurant. Byob and enjoy the amazing food!

My friends an I (16 ppl) tried this place after biking in Ohiopyle State Park. Their Asian style food was very delicious, and came in abundant quantity. They even had free wine and hot sake. We spent 2 hours there, full of joy. Best restaurant in that area.

My wife and I recently had dinner here while in the Uniontown area. This place is a great find. The wait staff was very helpful guiding my wife who eats gluton-free. The menu thoughtfully includes information on gluten and other dietary concerns and available substitutions. Dinner came with soup and salad - both excellent. We enjoyed the fresh spring rolls which were very light. The tuna steak I had was excellent and came with potatoes and veggies and topped with a very flavorful miso sauce. For this area, this restaurant is a real find. Give it a try. It was truly excellent.

First of all, the hotel receptionist recommended it to us. But no one at the hotel knew how to pronounce Nguyen. I was shocked that a sushi/Vietnamese place even existed in that city. Welcome to Uniontown, people. We went to check it out. Halfway through our meal the waitress asked us, "Are you here on vacation"? Gosh, what a question to get when you're passing through a place like Uniontown, Pennsylvania. "No, if i were on vacation, I'd be in Hawaii," is what I wanted to say. My manager kicked me under the chair and I said sweetly, "No, we are here on business." The waitress immediately gave us complimentary wine. I told my manager a terrible Nguyen pun joke. If you'd like to hear it, you can message me privately, but make sure you know how Nguyen is pronounced first. She laughed really hard at my joke- maybe because she had too much wine. Everything was too salty, and the sushi was mediocre. but... Complimentary Wine! Nguyens. They are so damn smart. (Please don't show this review to my Vietnamese ex-boyfriend, because he would glower at me about me finally admitting he is smart. Yes, his last name is Nguyen, which tells you nothing because that's like the Vietnamese Smith).

I had the Sea Bass which was perfectly cooked. My wife had Pad Thai which she loved. Will definitely return. Waitress was very pleasant and had a relaxed feel

Had lunch there today and ordered green tea. I was charged $3.95 for the tea which was a tea bag. Make sure you ask when you order tea so you are aware of the cost. With the cost of tea, lunch was way more than I typically spend.

The only place I go where I actually enjoy the whole package. The food is always good. The service is never bad. Prices are appropriate for the food. Owners are true resteraunt ppl. 5 stars

Went while visiting family. The staff was new but nice and helpful. The sushi was ok, too much rice but ok. We ordered the crab cake appetizer and my wife and I took one bite and looked at each other with a , WHAT IS THIS. It was not spoiled, not bad but tasted like something you have said something tasted like but never really tasted. We could not go on. Asked for the check and the owner came over and explained that they used the top grade crab. I explained to her and suggested that she take a taste, which she declined. We were actually sick for two days and each time I think about the experience, even now, get nausiated. We should have reported it to the health department but just wanted to get far away.

This place has the best Sushi I've had in south west PA area. I have had Yokoso at the Waterfront, Fusion near Wheeling WV, several small time places throughout Pittsburgh and NONE are this good. The chef here creates sauces to go with the rolls that are out of this world. The staff is very friendly and will be helpful with suggestions. Its like a diamond in the ruff of Uniontown cuisine. It is a BYOB establishment and has a small free selection of wine.

i was here for the first time the other day and was pretty impressed. i ordered miso soup (which was about average), edemame (which could have used more salt), and spicy alaskan roll (which was DELICIOUS). i also sampled my friend's chicken dish (which wasn't very flavorful) and my other friend's crab fried rice (which was amazing). so not all the food is top notch, but nothing was actually bad. the prices were about average for asian food, but for the portions, they were actually pretty good. i only have one complaint: i was meeting 4 of my friends there, and a 6th joined us right after i did. the first 4 had put in their order already since they were getting a couple courses. it took our server FOREVER to come over and even ask me and the 6th person what we wanted to drink. i mean i understand she had other tables, but the place isn't that big, and make us wait when we have the menu to look at, not when we're deciding all we want is water. but once she finally came over, she was much more attentive the rest of the night and very friendly, so i can't complain too too much. either way, i'd definitely go back and try out some more sushi selections and fried rice combos.
