    Haven't been in years but as a villanova student I loved this bar/ restaurant. Nice outside area when the weather is nice. Page menu with good food. And a big beer selection. On Wednesdays they used to have karoake and it would get packed. Not sure that is still the case.

    I'd actually give them 4 or 4.5 stars but considering the pretentious nitwits who have given them 1 star, I figure I need to make up the difference. I've been coming to Gullifty's for over 20 years now and I have got to say it's always been one of my favorite spots on the Mainline. Nice comfort food and overall consistency in both food and service. If they were located in Philly, they'd get 4 stars. Considering the options on the Mainline, they get 5. I've always liked the sandwiches, the appetizers (the beer battered onion rings are amazing, as is the fried cheese), the pizzas (the apple and bacon pizza remains a favorite), the pastas are excellent. And their cheesecake is to die for -- unlike any restaurant cheesecake, it really tastes homemade. My daughter likes their ribs, I'm not terribly impressed with the salmon, but the fish and chips is a good one. All in all, a solid neighborhood selection for from-scratch food. Order on MLD and beat the crowds.

    The first time I ate here, I was advised to get the baked potato soup. That was over ten years ago and it has been amazing ever since. All of the food options are great and a nice selection of different burgers. I've had an apple on a burger here before. The beer selection is amazing. Great beers on tap and a huge bottle selection. I've played trivia here at night time and the place was fully packed. Every year, I come here to watch March Madness and they have their own bracket for beer. The televisions are nice and big. This is also one of the premier meeting places for a business lunch. I also tend to bring my co-workers here for anniversaries or going away parties.

    Went here as part of a group last Saturday night. It was hard to find a parking spot as the place was pretty packed. There was a large banner in front of the restaurant saying that it is "Under Construction". I got out of my car and noted that there is an enclosed outdoor area with seating, umbrellas and an outdoor bar. There are also green neon lights and fake palm trees surrounding this area. Our group, however, was seated indoors and I proceeded indoors. Walking in, I noted that the indoor part of the restaurant seems to have different levels. I sat in the main area down a few steps from the door. The level I sat in had a large window on one side and the color scheme of the walls is orange and yellow and the chairs are brown. Some of the tables are half booths and half chairs. I noticed that the level below us (where the bathrooms are located) had white walls and orange padded booths. The food - Our group had already ordered their drinks and a nacho appetizer that we passed around. It was very tasty, with melted cheese, chunks of tomato and spicy peppers........ I decided to indulge in a glass of merlot and asked for an ice water on the side. The merlot was served in a very large goblet half filled with merlot........ For my dinner I went with the crab cake, a side salad and fries. The crab cake was very light and fluffy and for some reason I ate it without the top roll which had a tomato and slice of lettuce. My salad was mixed greens with tomatoes, onion slices, and cucumbers. The ranch dressing was unusually good...very creamy with a hint of an orange color to it and also had a nice spicy bite to it. Really excellent! Our waiter was very friendly and quick..... The only downside was my husband's meal came out a bit after the rest of the tables. Not sure what the problem was but this was a small glitch to our evening. All in all, it was a very good meal but the bill seemed kind of high.

    I've dined at Gullifty's at least six times in the past eight years and have never been a fan of the food. It has always been average. Last night's meal drastically exceeded my expectations. French Onion Soup - This soup was the epitome of comfort food. The molten cheese on top accompanied the hot, sweet and savory onion broth and created a most warming, homey bite. Lentil & Portobello Mushroom Salad (Warm Lentils, Grilled Portobello Mushroom, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Feta, Harvest Mix, Iceberg, Balsamic Vinaigrette, Toasted Pita) - 4 out of 5 Up until I tried this dish, I did not like Mediterranean flavors and would never think to order a dish with hummus, feta, olives, or the ilk. My boyfriend ordered this salad. [I always try and re-try food I dislike, in hopes that one day I'll find a rendition I love. I gambled and won with this salad.] I was floored at how the components amassed into such incredible flavors. The red pepper hummus is positively transcendent. It was a silken, rich, sweet, savory, and a nutty dip that, to my astonishment, I couldn't get enough of. Southwest Chipotle Chicken Sandwich (Cajun Seared Local Free Range Chicken, Boars Head Vermont Cheddar, Chipotle Mayonnaise, Jalapeños, Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato, Toasted Sour Dough Roll) - 4 out of 5 Gullifty's took an inventive approach at the classic spicy chicken sandwich by grilling and spice-rubbing the chicken breast. The chipolte chicken was seared in spices, not fried (to my elation), and the seasonings were exquisite. Cajun seasoning infused tons of flavor into the meat, the spiciness of which was tempered by the creamy avocado. The only weakness was the excessive ingredients, which caused flavor competition. Next time, I'll leave off the shredded iceberg, cheddar, and the jalapeños. [The thin slice of Vermont Cheddar was undetectable, the raw jalapenos were redundant as the spice from the meat rub was very pronounced, and the lettuce did not make any meaningful contribution to the dish.] The spicy chipolte mayo was easily the best I've ever tasted. I highly recommend supplementing the sandwich with the sweet potato fries. Scottish Salmon and Lobster Risotto (Pan-Seared Scottish Salmon, Lobster Stock Risotto, Roasted Red Peppers, Frizzled Zucchini and Squash) - 4 out of 5 The salmon was perfectly cooked. The risotto was exceptional. The nutty, al dente bits stewed in the thick, creamy lobster cream sauce was heavenly. The distinct lobster flavor elevated the risotto from good to great. Overall - 4 out of 5 For a casual eatery, Gullifty's delivers classic favorites very well. I highly recommend this establishment for dinner.

    Came out here for a gathering of Main Line Yelpers and had a lovely time! The outdoor patio area is festive, spacious, and comfortable. I would come back here in a heartbeat to soak up the sun and enjoy drinks with friends. The inside was sleek, dimly lit, and also comfortable. I felt very relaxed and enjoyed my evening. One nice touch is that some tables have taps built directly into them, and if you make arrangements ahead of time you can get private beer taps for your group. Sweet! The menu was huge, and I ended up ordering a Buffalo chicken salad. It was tasty and not heavy, with lots of nice, fresh veggies. It was also a large portion size, good for sharing or taking some home for leftovers. Gullifty's has a more than decent beer list which is worth exploring, although the happy hour offerings were a tad paltry. All in all, I would say this is a solid choice for good times with friends out on the Main Line.

    I am writing a review about how the management treats the servers. It is terrible. I have witnessed managers and supervisors yelling and belittling the serving staff of the restaurant. Being a supervisor at another organization, I find this completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I don't care how good or bad the food tastes at this restaurant I will never return to Gulifty's because of this unacceptable behavior of the management. If you would like to have good customer service from your staff, you must treat your staff with respect and thank them for doing their job. If your staff enjoy working for you, their joy will show in their service to customers. If you support the proper treatment of your staff, you will not treat them the way I have witnessed the Gulifty's management treat their's. Do not support this restaurant. If you do go to Gulifty's, ask to speak to a manager the next time you are there about this appalling behavior.

    Newly remodeled, has a nice laid back feeling. It's a comfortable open dining area with booths around the outside. Service was just fine, we had only appetizers this time around but both were good. I would visit again for sure. They also have an outdoor area which will be great in the warmer weather.

    We stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday night after dropping our son off at college. We sat in their lively outdoor patio and tried several of their small plates. Apparently the menu outside is a big different than inside. We tried a number of small plates including grilled shrimp (yum), crab cakes - supposedly their specialty (ho-hum) and wanted to try some of their specialty drinks but they were out of basil (wtf?). A+ on the atmosphere, OK on the service and decent food. Will give them another chance to impress when we are back for a visit.

    Gullifty's is always a solid option for drinks, and the little food I've consumed here has been quite good. Their enormous salads with fresh ingredients are good. And quizzo is always a good time. The staff is courteous and professional. Two things take Gullifty's down a peg: The prices and the noise. The drink prices are actually much more reasonable than the food prices. The portions are enormous, but I would rather pay eight bucks for a sandwich that I'm going to finish than pay fourteen bucks for a sandwich that I'm going to eat half of and then save the other half for a soggy, stale lunch the next day. And honest to God, this is the loudest restaurant I have ever been to, including Chuck E. Cheese. It is an assault on the brain. Do NOT take a date here. You will be screaming to hear each other over the cacophony that is a weekend evening.

    Been here plenty of times with friends.... good for everything, outside, inside.. beer selections on tap and bottled, Food is great.. mozzarella, or their beer battered onion rings.. their wings.. i can go on Great deals for happy hour, also in the late spring , early summer into the fall you have outside seatings and another bar. Another reason why this place gets high reviews on my end Good for everything.... zero complaints

    I hadn't been back to Gulifity's in years. Growing up in the area, it was always a compromise destination one of the few places that was more than eating in a bar, but less than a fancy night out. I remember an unfocused menu and a dining room awkwardly subdivided. Since then, they've renovated and overhauled their menu. The dining room is now wide open, with a row of banquettes separating it from the bar area. It retains the smaller seating area by the entrance, and has added a large outdoor bar. I ended up there twice in recent months. The first I met up with people for happy hour. We started outside, gathered around a long hightop table. There was a good selection of beers out there, though different from inside. There was adequate shade for the late afternoon sun, but the humidity got to be a bit much, as with any outdoor bar. Once everyone showed up, we decided to move inside. The bar is downstairs from the main entrance, and our large group colonised the large high-top in the middle of the bar area. It had some of those self-service taps you sometimes see at large sportsbars, but we didn't try them out. The beer list inside was much more expansive, with plenty of choices for all tastes. There's also a large variety of appetizers. I had the buffalo chicken dip, with pita wedges, and also tried some buffalo popcorn chicken and alligator tacos, and everything was pretty good. I went back a few weeks later for dinner. We sat in the dining area, in a slightly uncomfortable highbacked booth. We started with the calimari, which were lightly breaded and crispy, but may have too many mini-squid and too few rings for some tastes. I had an apple burger, which was a nice twist on the usual bacon bleu burger. I also tried some of the buffalo fajita, which was pretty spicy.

    We took the kids here for lunch on a Sunday and were seated right away. The menu changed a bit from the last time we visited, it seemed much smaller. We decided to get the hummus plate to start, which we all enjoyed- even our 11 month old could not get enough. It was served with pita and some veggies. The hubs and I both got French Onion Soup and Salads- nothing too exciting. The FO soup was picture perfect! Awesome presentation and taste. Salad was ok- loved the ranch dressing- has a bit of a kick to it. 4 yo got the Burger. I had a bite and it kinda made me wish I ordered one to begin with. This place has a top-notch beer menu- draught and bottles. I noticed in the bar area some of the tables even have their own tap!!!....a draught beer you can pour yourself at your own table!!! Sounds good to me! Back in our Happy Hour Glory days we would frequent this place quite often, as it is a fun atmosphere...especially in the summer with the outdoor bar area. Family friendly for sure!

    I went back this past weekend and had a really great time. The place was pretty busy but we didn't wait too long for our food. The onion rings are AMAZING! I almost ate the whole plate! I also had a salad which was very big - explains the price. The place had a good vibe and it looked like everyone was enjoying themselves. I'm happy that I went back.

    This long standing restaurant is still run by great folks. The servers seemed at the mercy of a kitchen that sent out our apps with the main course. I ordered the shrimp fajita, which came with four fajitas and four small shrimp. One shrimp per fajita. When I asked my server she said that was the correct amount. It wasn't a bad fajita...but ultimately was a $17.50 veggie fajita. Probably will be a while before I return.

    My roommate and I have been coming to Gullifty's for years. I've always been a fan, especially when they have outdoor seating. I'm especially fond of them since they were one of the few restaurants open after we had a pretty nasty ice storm that left us without power. The restaurant was extremely crowded, but the waitstaff was pleasant and friendly, and our waiter took the time to recommend certain beers to us which was nice considering the stress I'm sure he was under. Our burgers came out exactly how we ordered them and they have these awesome pretzel buns which are the highlight for me. Overall, I am extremely pleased with Gullifty's, especially after my most recent experience.

    Gullify's has had a facelift. The entire shopping area Gullifty's is located in has been upgraded and looks pretty good. Going to be an Indoor Farmers Market, which I'm pretty psyched about! For Gullifty's, not much has changed...they took down the wood framed amoebic mirrors, which I was quite a fan of, painted the walls, and put in a long bench seat across the far wall in the downstairs dining area. Really minor changes considering the renovations the shopping area underwent for months. The biggest change I see is there is now a self service bar tap located at the tables in the bar area! 3 of them offering 6 different beers on tap. Apparently you can pre-purchase a "beer button" that you can use at one of the taps to pour your own beer. Each tap had 2 different beers available you can see from the LCD screen. We did not see anyone use these for the hour plus we were dining Saturday night, and I'm very curious how they can "cut off" a drunk from drinking more...Not sure how that is going to pan out, but it could be good if you were seated at these particular tables and didn't want to walk 5 feet to the bar. As far as the menu, Gullifty's added steaks to their menus. Pretty good steaks too, but just a bit pricey. For 10 more bucks(per steak) you can eat at Fleming's or Morton's. They still make their own desserts and they are still great, including the ice cream. I was VERY sad to see they changed the wedge salad. The old wedge was a small wedge served with roasted red peppers, diced red onions, bacon, and delicious house made blue cheese dressing. The new wedge is basically a head of lettuce chopped in half with gorganzola cheese and diced tomatoes. A sad excuse for a salad in my book. Not sure how I feel about a wedge without bacon! Gullifty's is a great place to have a drink and a bite to eat while you watch the big game. Amazing beer selection, good bar food, and one of the few brunch options in Bryn Mawr. I just wish they would bring back the old wedge!

    A few weeks ago my husband and I drove down Route 30 looking for somewhere to stop for dinner. We decided to give Gulifty's a try It was pretty packed, but we were seated outside fairly quickly. Service was incredibly slow. It took forever for everything - drinks, our food, refills (oh wait, I never got a refill on my ginger ale...), and the check. A quick dinner took well over an hour. The food was so disappointed. I ordered the crab cake sandwich just for the crab cake. It was incredibly bland and there was some grit in it. The fries weren't that great either. My husband had one of the chicken sandwiches. Also very underwhelming. The meat didn't fit the bread and he had to rebuild his entire meal to make it edible. All in all, great location and layout, loved the patio, but he food and service were sub-par.

    Have been coming here for years. Glad to finally see a decent cider on the list instead if woodchuck and magners. Good has always been fairly consistent, and the new decor is a welcome change as they bring a little city atmosphere into the burbs similar to Nectar. Not to keen on seeing the prices increase beyond normal bar/pub type prices. Burgers/sandwiches easily reaching the teens is a bit much. Have had the same if not better food at Kelly's for less. Still some of the better fajitas in the area which is my GF go to, minus the tortillas of course. And Angry Orchard cider is a welcome addition. Miss the Dara Estelle beer though. Still good for catching a bite during a game and the beer selection is always vast for the non-glutarded. Would love to see some back to back big screens in the main dining room. Would make for a nice divider and not have to wonder what people are cheering about. Would love to see Marathon Grill take Food Source's location and bring some nice competition to them. Iron Hill will do the same when it opens in Ardmore.

    Waited longer then we were told. We could not carry our bar check to our table we were told it's easier for bartender if we just pay it separate. Staff seemed a little overwhelmed but nice and they were working hard. Excellent beer selection. Food was good but not much quantity and the amount if fries was comical maybe 8! And the quality was not sufficient to make up for the quantity. Our one burger was under cooked the waiter did get a new burger but then we had to wait and watch my son eat it. My second time there and they left me with no real reason to go return.

    I tried to like this place, with the extensive menu and huge beer list, I really wanted to. Unfortunately, between my husband and I, we've had 3 bad experiences and will not return. The food is overpriced and sub-par given what you're paying for it. The descriptions in the menu sound good, but the food never lives up. The beer list, while extensive, never seems to be updated and I have yet to have a visit where my first (and sometimes even second and third) beer choice is actually in-stock. Service is also poor. I've had to wave my arms wildly to get utensils, napkins and even refills on water, which is not okay in my book. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else.

    This restaurant is our go to spot during snow storms or sometimes on a family night out. The food is always good at the staff is kind. The only thing that we don't like is that about a year ago, they changed their menu and the prices got higher. If they changed back to the old menu, this place could be a 5 star casual restaurant. But, I still recommend it.

    Went here with a group of folks and the wait staff was busy... but we never felt ignored. They were always there when we needed them. The food was good. We particularly enjoyed the Mac & Cheese appetizer. it was made with a wonderful blend of cheeses that one would not expect in a traditional Mac & Cheese. Meals were well portioned and well seasoned. I will be back.

    Between the price hike and the lack of quality in food, this place has gone downhill. Within the past 3 months I've ordered 2 medium rare burgers here, both times they've been charred... another time I ordered a margarita pizza and they forgot the basil. The ribeye cheesesteak lacks any flavor at all, and the French onion soup is hit or miss. Don't be fooled by the fancy wording on the menu, you're sure to be disappointed.

    This used to be our favorable place for a quick and reasonably priced meal. When we came home from living abroad for a while, we always came here. My husband loved their French dip and I like the grilled cheese sandwiches. However, the last time we went there, we found a different menu and much higher price. Food was tastless and several of our favorites were gone from the menu. It was very disappointing. We have not been back since.

    So cool yet family friendly. Great wide open dining room, open bar area, and a very cool outdoor patio area. We had the alligator tacos and fish and chips. Fish and chips were Amazing..alligator tacos tasted a little dry. And they DO have a kids menu - its just not listed. You have to ask for it, it comes out fast. This place is perfect for a date night, with friends, or even with the kids. We will def return to try out all the menu items.

    If you were driving down Main Line and weren't looking carefully you could easily pass by Gullifty as it is hidden within the sea of cars, parking lot, and the RIP Borders bookstore shopping center. You could also pass by it because it looks inconspicuous, and boring, but you would be wrong. Of all the major drinking spots in Main Line I find Gullifty to be the best, as it really is an happy hour type of place. Think of the perfect blend of cozy Irish Pub, mixed with trendy lounge, and friendly neighborhood bar. That is Gullifty, and that is what I look for in a place when I go drinking. The bar is comfortable but modern, the atmosphere is fun but conservative, and the wait staff is accommodating but not overwhelming. Their drinks are affordable but priced so it doesn't attract the wrong crowd. But the part I love about this place is that somehow consistently it doesn't get crowded to the point where you become a sardine in a can. Nor does it feel empty enough where you wonder why you even came. This is truly a working Professional's drinking place. Highly recommended for anyone whose had a long day and needs to unwind!

    I would give this place a zero if I could. Gulifty's is my favorite restaurant..correction it was my favorite restaurant. The service is unreliable. Some nights the waiters are attentive and amazing, other nights they make you wait forever for your food. The Southwest salad with Cajun chicken was dull, the dressing was tasteless and the chicken dry. The buffalo chicken was decent and the beer list was ok. The real issue was the service where our waitress was MIA for most of the night to the point that we thought of filing a missing persons report.

    This is one of the few things that seems to still be around from my ol' college days....and understandably so. It's a pretty decent, simple American restaurant in a college town with a bar. I've never had bad food or service and the prices are usually on par. They do a lot of specials as well, but be careful because many of them are only in the bar. It's pretty hard to mess up most of the food they carry: salads, fried appetizers, personal pizzas, etc. Last time I was there I had some amazing onion rings washed down with a cold glass of beer and it didn't hurt my wallet. Why can't every bar around Villanova be this simple?

    My family and I had one of the worst restaurant experiences ever. It took 25 minutes to get some of the drinks we ordered and then 5 more minutes for the rest. Some of the food was served and there was no silverware or dishes (we were sharing) on the table. I walked over to another table and grabbed silverware. I went to another waiter for dishes and he promised to get the manager. We sat and looked at our food for another 5 minutes. The food was inedible; the service pathetic. When the manager FINALLY came over, she was very apologetic, but it was too late. Do yourself a favor - don't go!!

    We live in Wynnewoood and were looking for a new family place to try that wasn't as far as Teresa's in Wayne and that takes reservations, so I saw the good average reviews of Gullifty's and told the fam we were going. What a pleasant surprise! It's like a sports bar--dark wood, big-screen TVs---with a huge menu that appeals to just about every palate, including my meat-loving one, my hubby's health-conscious one, and my kids' pizza one. We were seated at a high top near the bar, which was odd given that we had a 3-yo with us who could have easily swiveled himself off the seat, but the kids didn't seem to mind and the 3-yo managed to stay put. I had the stuffed fillet mignon special, which was shockingly good. Never would I have expected the steak to have been cooked perfectly medium rare, yet it was. And my kids loved their pizzas and burgers. Even my Cosmo was made perfectly (and they gave me an extra overflow glass so I essentially got 2 drinks for the price of 1). The atmosphere was just right for a family of 6, and this just might be a new regular place for us.

    People who drink light 'beer' don't like the taste of beer; they just like to pee a lot. Real beer aficionados come here to drink serious beer. Get a group of discerning beer drinkers together out in the Western suburbs and it's practically guaranteed Gullifty's name will come up. Sit yourself down at the long bar and ask for the Beer Book. Although there are about 15 taps here the real action is with the bottles. There are over one hundred and the book will help guide you with groupings by type. Of course you'll want to know the alcohol content of your libation and that's in there to. How about nice strong malty ale like Three Philosophers? It's a Belgian Quadruple that will really get your attention. Or maybe you would enjoy a recently released Double Bastard Ale? It comes in a 22 oz. bottle. At 10.5% ABV more than two and you will likely be one happy camper! By the way, Gullifty's has plenty of gastro pub type food to go with all that great beer. In the summertime there is an outside deck complete with its own grill. Not a bad way to observe the denizens of Bryn Mawr enjoying the Main Line. So if you consider beer one of the major food groups you need to make a stop here.

    This place evokes all sorts of feelings and memories for me. I hadn't been back, until recently, since I was a tween. I have fond memories of splitting the killer cookie for two with my Dad and of having my mom drop me and a few girlfriends off here for a very grown-up style restaurant birthday party. We weren't rich, but this place was definitely within our price range. I recently dragged my husband here to see if it was even still open and to grab dinner one late Saturday eve. I remembered the food to be of the TGI Friday's variety - same price and a little bit better quality. It was still open and we easily found a table at the mildly packed restaurant at 8pm on a Saturday. I'd say that the menu has changed drastically. Along with the burger and salad fare I remember, they've added a number of more upscale entrees, numerous pizzas, some more intriguing salads, and a slew of beer choices. I ordered the quiche of the day with a side salad for my meal. The quiche had asparagus, ham and the slightest bit of swiss cheese all in a scrumptious pastry shell. I asked for the caeser salad on the side, and it was nice but the dressing was a little bland. I also asked for a glass of Pinot Grigio which was relatively inexpensive, but it took way too long for my drink to arrive. My husband got his soup before we got any of our drinks, and I do consider that to be a faux pas. We had to order the killer cookie for two. Basically, that was why I decided to go to Gullifty's that night, to begin with. It was better than I remembered. A very warm, freshly baked, thick chocolate chip & walnut cookie covered with a wonderful homemade vanilla ice cream and served with a drizzle of hot fudge. We cleaned the bowl. FYI, looks like they stay open pretty late; even until 1am on the weekends. Good to know because this can be hard to find in the burbs!

    I took my daughter, son in law and three children on a Tuesday night. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating, the food however was horrible. I sent back the nachos that looked as though they were made around lunch time and sat around all day. My problem with this is that they actually served this to us !     Live in the area and frequent Gullifty's because of its consistent food. Never had a bad experience with the food. With that said, this each time I have visited in the past year, our service has been awful. Both brunch and dinner service has been slow recently - a dinner for four took nearly two hours, and our server put extra items on our check and had to re-do it, twice! I would recommend Gullifty's for takeout; if you want to dine in, I would not go at the peak hours because clearly the wait staff cannot handle a busy restaurant.

    I frequent Gullifty's about once every couple of weeks after work with colleagues. The beer list is extensive. You won't fine the super-rare stuff here, but they keep a great rotation of craft beer on tap and have a book full of bottles to choose from. This is one of the few places on the main line with a spacious outdoor bar, which is very nicely done. The food is nothing to write home about, but decent nonetheless. Service is usually very good. Wish they had a better happy hour--but at least they have happy hour specials. Solid place all-around that I continue to visit.

    Gullifty's has been a Main Line standby for years. They have great draft beer selections and a host of pub style menu options. If you are looking for a good sandwich and beer in Rosemont, this is your place. Today for lunch I had their bourbon chicken grinder with applewood smoked bacon, tomato and lettuce, and it was very good. My party had a Greek salad and a pulled pork wrap, both of which were delicious. Service was good and the prices fair. Outdoor seating opens up at 5pm and is a great option for warm summer nights, although there isn't a view...you're in a parking lot. I'll be back soon for a calorie-bomb Chimay white...or six.

    I would only recommend going here for bar food and sitting outside. The food never seems to come out and taste as good as it sounds on the menu. I agree with the other yelpers that the food has gone downhill over the years. Their cheesesteaks and grinders used to have more flavor and seemed better. The pizza's I never thought lived up to what they should be, and since I don't drink beer I can't comment on the selections and whats available or not. So many places have opened around this area lately that there are better choices, but it's still a nice place to sit outside for snack type food.

    Came here with some friends. Thought about sitting outside, but with it being 120 degrees, we figured we would pass. Arrived around 7:15 and was promptly seating. Our waitress came over right away and took our drink orders. I sat and stared at the menu a good 20 minutes. There were so many choices. We decided to go with nachos as an appetizer. They were amazing. I ordered the crab cakes and they were pretty damn good. Did I mention that they have over 130 beers to choose from? Oh yeah they do! I could spend hours on the beer alone! This is such a great little place to go to! I am going to have to check it out again!

    I lived on the main line for 2 years and I adored this place. The food was always delicious. Their pizzas were great and they had delicious burgers. I loved going to trivia and karaoke night. Seriously awesome! However.. I've seen quite a few reviews talking about the staff here. I rarely had a friendly server and good luck trying to talk to the manager. I once ordered a cocktail and it tasted like it had been mixed with water. I asked to speak to the manager and I saw him roll his eyes when my waiter told him I had issue with my drink. When he came over I asked why he had rolled his eyes and this set him off. He accused me of being drunk and threatened to call the cops. Considering I had driven from work to there completely sober, I was offended and told him I didn't appreciate his tone considering how often I gave his place business. Apparently they have some type of alcohol measuring system (his words, not mine) that pours the exact amount of booze into all their cocktails (???). Whatever, he offered to give me a drink for free (cool) and all was forgiven. I moved away, and I miss this place, but that one time kind of put a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended). I'd recommend the cheeseburger pizza, btw, with a nice glass of chimay.

    Seated within 10 minutes at 7:30pm on a Saturday night. Good draft beer selection. Enjoyed the Apple Bacon Quesadillas and the Calamari for apps. Really good guacamole with the quesadillas! I loved the Apple Bacon Pizza; good crust and interesting toppings. H said that the Turkey Club was one of the best he's ever had. S had a tortellini special that he said was excellent.     after a team paddle session from Main Line Health & Fitness, i was told that around the corner has some great food... this foodie got his hopes up! we, a team of 15 were seated promptly, after a rush of a busy grand opening for a new farmers market next door. we were going to order regular appetizers, and our friendly waitress greeted us with a happy hour menu! in that case, we ordered double the amount of appetizers!! (GOOD JOB WAITRESS!) our drinks were placed.... after ordering our appetizers, we were ready for the entrees... the waitress happliy took our orders and the food came out accordingly... i asked for the Asiago (APPLE WOOD SMOKED) Bacon Burger - meduin rare... when my burger came, it was missing the bacon, and was cooked through...after the team finished their meal...(how long does it take to cook a medium rare burger?) the waitress glady came back with a new meduim rare Asiago (OSCAR MAYER PRECOOKED) Bacon Burger...o.O (GOOD JOB WAITRESS!!) ok, the burger wasn't all the waitress's job... she was busy bartending... i was hoping she made me a drink! instead, she was running around like a chicken without a head. i gove it to her though, she managed to serve about 6 people at the bar and came back to our group of 15 to make sure all was well... when the bill came, we stumbled upon a -$24... we couldn't figure it out. we then asked her personally, she replied, "because some of the appetizers ran out, and a few other mistakes (my baconless burger), i took off $24 off your bill to make up for our mishaps..."     As a grad student at Villanova, Gullfity's is a great place to go out to after class. Fun and relaxed atmosphere and an excellent beer selection. The food is good, although maybe a little expensive. I've never had terrible service but its never been top-notch. The outdoor patio section is nice on a summer night but the menu and beer list are different than inside. They prepare everything on the patio and keep beer on tap outside so they aren't constantly running inside to grab things. Just a heads up if you're craving a certain beer or menu item, don't get too attached if you plan to sit outside. All in all, a great place to meet up with friends a coworkers. Everyone can find something they like and the laid back atmosphere is great.

    Gullifty's is a solid place to grab a beer and watch a game. The bar area has adequate seating with close views to several flat screens. The beer selection is extensive and the menu has something for everyone. The service is usually prompt and friendly. They have Quizzo on Thursday nights and outdoor seating when the weather cooperates. It's conveniently located next to a Border's which is a nice place to waste time if you have to wait for a table.

    A group of friends and I settled on this place because of its beer list and good options for vegetarians. The food was good, although not described well. For example, I got the lentil salad which was mostly salad greens with hummus with some lentils sprinkled on the top. However, the quality was good. However, I will NEVER go back if I plan on ordering beer. True, they have an impressive beer list, but it's one without prices and now we know why. Three of us ordered beer. Two drafts and one bottle. The draft beers were 9 dollars and 10 dollars each. The bottled beer was 8 dollars. I am perfectly happy to pay 10 dollars for a beer, if and only if, I know that I'm doing so. I took a risk on a new beer that was ok and paid more than my food for it. I know it's the mainline, but if you are going to charge ridiculous prices for beer, put them on the menu.

    I transplanted to the area about 3 years ago, and Gullifty's is somewhat of an institution in the area. It's popular with families, couples, office groups, and college kids who didn't spend all their money that week on beer and pizza (hey, no worries--I used to). It's nice to have a place in the area that is neither pricey nor dingy. It's nicer bar food, sort of an independent Friday's or similar. Stay on the beaten path, and food is good: fried mozz, calamari, burgers, salads (lentil salad and portobella salads, mm--although don't think I didn't notice that you guys made them A LOT smaller lately!), pizza, wraps and sandwiches, and calzones. Service is v. reliable and usually hustles even on a day or night when this place is packed. Decent drink prices. No-smoking rule means even the bar area is fair game for dining now. Upstairs is quieter and attracts an older crowd, but I think it's dull and remote sitting up there. Grab a cozy booth downstairs and get into the fray. Outdoor enclosed deck is a nice place for a drink in summer, but menu is too limited and they won't serve you the indoor menu out there.

    I've only been here a few times and I usually order the fish burger with cajun fries. I wouldn't say there is anything particularly special about Gullifty's but it seems to have a cheery but loud atmosphere and attracts a lot of people, which is why it seems busy all the time. The service seems a bit slow in general. The menu has a lot of variety so that's a plus. The food is decent and well-priced, which is hard to find on the main-line sometimes. It's a nice restaurant and place to go to every now and then.

    I have so many memories at Gulifties... Wednesday kareoke nights (always a good time!), drinking with friends and trying to ignore the Nova frat boys, first dates, dinners with my parents when they dropped me off at college, dinners with my friends' parents, and so on and so forth! Gullifties is one of those bars/ restaurants you can always count on. The food is always decently good - chicken parm, sandwiches, burgers, mozzerella balls (especially tasty when drunk), philly cheesesteaks, etc. I have to say I have never tried the pie. The bar can get crowded which was always annoying, but even when I drunkenly left my credit card with the bartenders a couple times, I always got it back! The staff is very nice. Plus they can make a strong long island!

What could you not love about a place that always has consistently great food, great beer selections, and great service? Added to all that, I can walk there from my place! Best beer on tap: Mad Elf! Best appetizer: Buffalo Chicken Tenders (They are last meal worthy if you catch my drift) Best entrees: Fajitas, Burger, and Chicken Diablo Pizza. I had an event for my meetup group ( meetup.com/mainline ) and they were very accomodating by allowing me to reserve the bar area with only a day notice on a Saturday night!

    A broad selection of beer, lots of indoor/outdoor seating, and a menu with food options for everyone - if you have a diverse group, everyone will be satisfied at Gullifty's. Gullifty's could easily become my go-to place for drinks and dinner with friends. I'm outdoorsy in that I like drinking on patios, and Gullifty's has a large outdoor bar and seating area. The service was also excellent - our waitress was attentive and did her best to keep our food and drinks coming even though the place was very busy. The beer selection is massive - lots of draft options and a long exhaustive bottle list. As is the case with a large group, we ordered a ton of food. Some of the highlights were the Alligator Tacos ($8.50), which tastes like chicken and was perfectly cooked as to not be chewy, and the Gourmet Mac & Cheese ($9), deliciously creamy with a lingering smokey taste that complemented the various cheeses and bacon)/ Some negatives were the wayyy overpriced but still somewhat adequate Nachos Reserve ($12.50 + $2.50 for guacamole) and the Popcorn Buffalo Chicken ($9.50), which was bits of friend chicken dipped in hot sauce that was just okay. Overall, Gullifty's delivers based on the broad selection of food/drinks and the quality food it serves. The perfect place for a diverse group of friends or a picky family.

    I have never written a bad review before. I just stopped by for a cup of coffee and a desert. I ordered strawberry pie. There were 2 half strawberries, quite old and burried in gobs of creamy stuff. It was really not a strawberry pie but something way more unhealthy, too sweet and rich. I told the waitress (for the very first time in my life complaining in a restaurant - and I am 65) that it was not satisfactory. She said I could have another desert. I declined. Then she gave me a bill for the whole thing -even though I had not eaten it. I don't think that my message got to the cook or owner.

    I went to Gullifty's with some old friends a few weeks back as we have not been there in a long time. I had a bad experience. Shortly after our pizza was brought to our table if fell on the floor. I would have expected the waitress to have offered to bring us a new one but she didn't. The next day I called and asked to speak to the manager. The manager I believe his name was Justin agreed that the waitress should have offered to bring us a new pizza. He said he was going to send me a gift card. It has now been almost two months and guess what I still have not received the gift card that was promised. Bad customer service!!!

    Upbeat, family friendly place on the mainline. Food was good but it did take a while for it to get to us. Service speed was average but our server was very friendly, so thumbs up for that. Got the ribs, which came with a nice coating of BBQ sauce on it. It was cooked well but a bit too salty. The cheesy cauliflower was pretty tasty too but again very salty. Got the moscato wine, sweet, the way I like it. A bit on the pricey side, but then again it's the mainline. Pretty good option for dinner dates.     Bland, unimaginative food, slow service, and the restaurant lacks the resources to keep the bathrooms clean and working. At first glance, it looks like a nice restaurant with a clean, modern inside area and an open outside eating area. It was freshman move-in night and we went for dinner. Whether you give the restaurant a pass for it being freshman move-in day, that's your decision, but it's an annual event and you would think that every restaurant and business would be prepared and excited about the annual wave of customers. Everything started fine and our party of 6 was seated within 5 minutes. We placed our orders within 15 minutes and then the waiting began. The waiter kept coming back and apologizing for it being slow and setting our expectations that the kitchen was way behind schedule because of lack of workers. One hour later, we got finally got an order of onion rings and sweet potato fries delivered. Then we had to ask the waiter to give us place settings - and he gave us napkins and forks. Later we would have to ask him to give us knives. The fried foods were greasy and nothing special. The greasiness tells you that the food was probably frozen or reheated by tossing back into the fryer. Now the waiting begins again for our entrees to arrive. Some of the people at our table ordered salads. The salads looked good, but there was barely any dressing and the salad dressings were bland and flavorless. When our entrees arrived, there was nothing notable either positively or negatively about the entrees - I would call them uninspiring. We had flat bread pizzas, mac and cheese, and a cheesesteak at our table. Towards the end of the meal I visited the rest rooms. The rest room was trashed! There was paper all over the floor. There was no soap to wash your hands. The paper towel dispenser was empty and the air hand dryers were not working. The restaurant obviously knew about the situation because someone had taken the time to put a small pile of the small bar/cocktail napkins by the sink to dry your hands. I wonder, is that a health code violation to not have soap for kitchen workers to wash their hands before returning to work. We skipped dessert because it was already past 2 hours for a simple meal and didn't want to wait any longer. There was another table of 8 near us and they threatened to walk out after waiting so long, but their waiter convinced them to stay longer. They were still waiting for their food when we left. So do yourself a favor - go somewhere else.

    Came here the other weekend with friends for the first time in years. The place looks completely different from the last time I was here , the new look is more sleek and modern. To start, we ordered the popcorn buffalo chicken and the onion rings. The buffalo chicken was really good. The onion rings were great, even it was a huge onion, but I liked that they weren't overly fried. To drink, I ordered a cocktail called "blackout", which was really good but not very strong for a drink called blackout. My fiancé and I split the bourbon barbecue pizza(the bigger sized one) with chicken. The pizza was flatbread and delicious. Waitress was very attentive. They had a good variety of things on their menu. I had kinda forgot about this place and will definitely start coming here more.

    I came here with a big group to help celebrate a friend's birthday, and we all had a great time! One of the nice things about this restaurant is that you can reserve the islands in the bar area for a more laid-back party. The servers had our island ready for us when we arrived, and they were all very sweet. Giving us happy hour prices on all of the drinks and appetizers was a very nice touch! If you are planning on celebrating a special occasion here, let them know--they would probably be happy to offer the same discount for your guests. The beer selection is amazing! I would say that there are around 100 bottles choices, no exaggeration. I tried two of their signature cocktails (Sweet Revenge and Lethal Injection) and they were also great. My only complaint is that the appetizer I ordered came out cold. Still tasty though. In all seriousness, who doesn't love a fun happy hour night with Quizzo? Overall, this place has great service, warm and fuzzy ambiance, and amazing drinks. I'd like to return to try the actual restaurant.

    I've been going to this restaurant since I moved to the area 7 years ago. It is a go-to when my friends and I want a good dinner at an affordable price. The renovations last year added a lot of light (I guess they added lights or raised the ceiling). I ordered fajitas (as I always do there), and they came later than the rest of the table's orders. In the past I've had many desserts, all of which I recommend except for the "Key Lime" Pie. It's not like most key lime pies in looks or taste. The new additions to the menu in the last year are very welcome, and many of the older menu items are still there.

    I guess Gullifty's is a place you could write home about...but you wouldn't really care if the letter got lost in the mail. The food was good, but overpriced for the quality. I ordered a drink which was supposedly alcoholic (I paid more for it being on the cocktail menu at least), but didn't taste like much of anything other than watered down juice with much thanks to the overflowing ice. Our server was friendly, but clearly our little two-top table wasn't her top priority. When the food arrived, she did check in on us which was appreciated...especially since the two who brought our plates were also more interested in their own conversations than acknowledging our presence. I had ordered a fajita platter and when it was distractedly placed on the table, the sizzling hot plate was literally under my forearm...the servers didn't seem to care for my safety and upon attempting to move it away from my inner-space, the ratty oven mit on the handle's smallest hole seemed to be exactly where my hand landed and now I have a blistered souvenir from this evening. The servers also didn't seem to care that I was holding my finger in that questionably alcoholic juicy drink of ice. I read through the other reviews and agree with many. The place is definitely family friendly, but I wouldn't bring any of those family members who are worth writing letters to.

Have you visited us at Gullifty's?" Me: "I have not, but have heard good things!" Gullifty's: "That's good to hear! We hope you can stop by soon, we'd love to know what you think!" Well, here you go, Gullifty's. I think you have a genius social media manager because, upon finding myself on the Main Line with my picky-eater mom yesterday, I suggested you for lunch based on remembering that correspondence and knowing of no other restaurants in the area. First: Place is pretty. Second: Food is also pretty. We started with the fried mozzarella that comes with honey mustard. So good! My mom (re: picky) noted that they were the "best she's ever had." I'd have to agree with her. She then went with the "no filler" crab cake sandwich, and I had the Chimay Grand Réserve Cheddar Ale Philly Cheesesteak (just copied and pasted that from their online menu because it's a fancy name.) Both were great choices. There are so many more items on the menu that sound interesting, prices are fair, and I'd definitely recommend. I just wish I lived closer to visit again! Open a South Jersey location? Yes?

    Gullifty's is a good spot in the Bryn Mawr area for drinks or food. I have been there a couple times for drinks with co-workers. The bar area is nice and spacious, but not overly noisy. The service is fine. The drinks selection is decent. A lot of local drafts are on the list. We had the buffalo chicken dip as a bar snack, and it was all right. Not bad, but not great either. This review is only for the bar, as I have not had a meal here yet.

    Great outside area. Fun to enjoy in nice weather. As for the food, we had two pasta dishes. Both were really bad. Sauce was made wrong and tasted like nothing. The chicken in my Chicken-parm might have been premade, frozen, microwaved. It was bad. The Mac and cheese appetizer was tasty, but somewhat creamy than cheesy. Will go back for drinks, but not for the food.

    Meh. The food is pretty good and the outside seating is fun. First time here. Was served a dirty can of beer with a hair on it, no glass, never offered one. A nice patron at the bar reached over & handed me a glass. Small plate of red beet salad was served with a piece of plastic on top. It was mostly arugula, stingy on the toppings. BF's mozzarella bites were yummy & pollutant free, served with a nice mustard dipping sauce. Loved my portobello & pesto sandwich, the kettle chips are delicious. BF's short rib sandwich was so Salty he stopped eating after 2 bites. He described it as biting in to a salt lick. ( first time on 4 years I've heard him complain of over-salting). Service, if you want to call it that, was distract able & disinterested. Bare minimum. Not sure if we'll be back.

    This is definitely a place for people that don't care to pay outrageous prices for tasteless food. I can't believe they've been open since 1975 which brings new to believe that the menu had changed and I regret to inform, not for the best. I'd been looking forward trying this place for the longest time only for it to turn out lacking in so many areas. As I walked in, I noticed there was no host so a waiter approached, acting like host, only to tell us to wait for host. We get seated with no conversation from host asking whether we'd like high chairs or boosters. I also noticed a brunch menu at the front but none were in or menus. The waitress brought us some. Seeing that we had two toddlers, a kid's menu was not offered or explained until we asked the 3rd time she came to our table. She proceeded to tell us there were no printed menus but listed an array of dishes suitable for the kids. It only sounded like starters from the menu. We order our dishes and an appetizer, only to find outv the kitchen ran out of hummus. The waitress asked if we wanted something else without offering the other choices or presenting us with the menu again. We decided to order the nachos. Regrettably, we should have known after that that we should have left. There was hardly any chili con carne or cheese on the nachos and it felt like we paid 13 bucks for chips and a few toppings. The flavor was not pleasing. I received my Mahi Mahi burger only to see more ciabatta bread than fish. It was a thin patty of fish with little flavor and I had a small sea of sweet potato fries. I felt like I paid 13 bucks for carbs and no protein. My husband's plate was by far the worst. I've never seem chicken parmesan served this way EVER. it looked like half a bottle of sauce has been poured over pasta and chicken. The chicken was not crispy and was soft and the sauce tasted like Ragu. My husband complained asking whether he could have plain pasta to mix a bit of his drenched pasta with it. Did they take his plate to fix? NO! The waitress had the gall to ask whether she should get a manager to help us. REALLY? Here is a dissatisfied customer and you have to ask? We ordered the popcorn chicken for the kids and it was the driest and tasteless chicken I've ever tasted. No wonder my kids did not eat it and they have great appetites. The bill was atrocious and the only thing comped? The extra pasta my husband asked for. WOW .....Horrific.

    The fact that this place didn't die 15 or 20 years ago is a testament to: A. The lack of dining choices in the Bryn Mawr/Rosemont area B. The number of intoxicated 20 somethings who don't care about the food C. Main Liners are creatures of habit who are too lazy to drive five more minute for a better meal. Image a TGIFridays, but with worse food. In the bar, they even have self serve taps at the tables, which is handy because the service was also pretty bad. I get dragged here for group events once or twice a year. That is too much.

    The food and service was excellent. We had wings, Portobello pesto sandwich with sweet potato fries, and an asparagus pasta dish. These were the best wings I ever had, right off the grill. The sandwich was delicious and the pasta dish was creamy with great blend of flavors. Next time I want to try the pizza, several tables around us had pizza and it and smelled heavenly :-)

    I went to Gullifty's during Parents Weekend at Villanova, so the place was more than a little crowded. Nevertheless, our waiter was as fast as he could be, especially with a party of five. Big draft and tap list, which was very heavy on the seasonal pumpkin beer (of course, because it's fall). I wonder if the other seasons have as large of a selection as the fall one. I ordered the roast chicken sandwich and I was most excited by the grass-fed, local chicken breast that appeared on my bun. It was juicy and quite large. Yum. I was kind of expecting avocado slices on the sandwich, but the sandwich had a thick layer of mashed avocados. The sandwich came with chips, which were all right. I liked the fries that came with everyone else's burgers and I absolutely loved the garlicky aioli that came with some of the burgers. It went perfectly with my chips.

    We were a party of 14 and Everything went smoothly! We all ended up arriving at different times due to a previous event running late. Once we arrived, we were greeted, our orders taken pretty quickly and our food served timely and hot. I got the short rib sandwich and it was good! The other people in my party ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich, wings, salmon, popcorn chicken, a slice of chocolate cake and a few other things I can't remember. Everyone was pleased! Now since we all got there at different times people left at different times and at the end the waitress split our checks however we wanted without it being an issue at all! I would give them 3 stars for food and atmosphere but the great service earns it another star thus my 4 star rating! I'm definitely going back.

    I come to this restaurant pretty regular as it is very big and you can always be seated and has a wide variety of foods to choose from. In the past couple years the prices have gone up but the good quality has remained the same so that's my biggest con. They do have some good happy hour specials on food and drinks but you have to sit at the bar area. The waitstaff is not the friendliest but they are efficient which is really more important. It's a good place to meet a group of friends because there aren't many other big restaurants like this in the area.

    Looks like a really popular college hang out spot to watch sports games. That's it. The food is really average for the price. We ordered buffalo chicken bites and those were not crispy at all! I got the crab cake sandwich and it was soggy and way too salty with the tartar. It also had a strong seafood odor/taste. Not enjoyable. I would just come here for the beers and three giant tv screens that each play different games.

    My wife suggested this last night (10/9/10) spur of the moment saying she went there a lot as a kid and teen and wanted to see if was still there. It's still there and thriving! First of all, they had me at the name. It come from from X the Owl saying "nifty gullifty" in the Neighborhood of Make Believe on Mister Rogers Neighborhood. I love Mr. Rogers and I love that someone thought to reference them in the name of their restaurant. Gullifty's is like a big corporate chain restaurant but better and not corporate. It has the big comfortable seating, fun atmosphere and menu staples of those places. But it also has a larger menu and a lot of different beers. I started with the cheesesteak soup. I was expecting it to be thick and creamy. To my pleasant surprise, it wasn't. It had a touch of hot sauce on the top which was great. The soup really was reminiscent of a cheesesteak but not heavy like one. My entree was pan-seared tuna with an avocado aioli. The aioli was delicious. A good meal and not too heavy with the portions but not too small either. My wife and I split a dessert: their just baked cookie with ice-cream, chocolate sauce, banana and walnuts. You have give them time to bake it so order it during the meal. The vanilla ice-cream was surprisingly good. It may have been my favorite part of the dessert. What they call chocolate sauce was more like hot fudge. My only complaint might be the cookie which tasted good but my wife thought would come out a little underdone. It was fully cooked and I do love a cookie that is a little raw in the center. Overall, I am happy to have found. Gullifty's. My wife and I plan on returning.

    This place is perfectly fine, the beer and bottles, the food, salads, the atmosphere, the waitstaff, the tv's, the outside patio. But that's it, to me it doesn't have that extra oomph, extra charm that makes it a four for me. You can never go wrong coming here for whatever occasion of your choosing, so the consistency and stability of the place are unquestioned. Idk, just sometimes you get that feeling that the place isn't you, if I could give 3.5 stars I would in a heartbeat, and since I am not particularly a fan I have to just say this place is once again perfectly fine. If your not feeling it just walk outside and head right or left for more dining and drinking options. Word of caution, the only cops worse than main line cops from Nova to Ardmore are Virginia State Troopers, these guys are hawks always looking for blood, if you drink, you better sober up or get a ride with someone else. As you always should, but especially in this part of town.

Not being a beer fan, I can't speak to this personally, but my husband and friends always wanted to go here so that they could try a new beer. There were beers from all over the world.     I have been to Gullifty's before for the karaoke before I was 21 and with a bunch of friends we would stay and eat and sing. As of last night I will not be returning due to he unprofessional staff and rude confrontations that I had to go through with them. We arrived a little after 10pm, waited for someone to sit us, we were sat in the bar area for a 4 top table by who I assumed was the hostess. Our server came, took our drink order and when someone wanted to order a draft we all had to pull out our ID's, which is fine. Whatever. The server informed us, as someone was under 21 at our table, that we could not drink out our table with them being underaged, so we decided to order our meals and us 21+ would go drink at the bar and come back. We get our meals, start to eat, and me and another guest from our table go to the bar to drink. We finished what we were drinking at the bar and paid our tab, went back over to our table to continue to eat and our server came to our table and confronted us, it was around 11:00pm, he continued to explain about the law about drinking at a table with someone underage, blatantly ignoring our friend, and how it was just the law [which we understood, and which is why we drank at THE BAR, away from him] and our server explained to us how "It was starting to get busy and that because we had someone underaged we could finish our meal" basically telling us that he wanted the table. I was very irritated by the server, this was rude, we hadn't been there for an hour, our meals were cold when we received them, and he wanted to get rid of us?! Seriously? NO ONE had walked into the door after this confrontation, and I KNOW because I watched the time on my phone because i hadn't seen many people come in at ALL it was a Wednesday NIGHT! Again, 2 from our table went up to the bar to drink, I stayed with our underaged friend. We sorted out our money for the check. The server CONTINUOUSLY passed our table after our money was ready, avoiding us, un-attentive to anything. He comes back apologizing to me and AGAIN paying no attention showing sympathy to our friend. He is apologizing for the law, I don't care. I know the law. I am upset he wanted us to leave, we WERE SAT IN THE BAR AREA BY STAFF i told him, and that's not my fault. I became very upset. After this I decide let's give this server the table so he can get over it, me and the friend under 21 sit furthest away from the bar and look for songs to sing for karaoke. At this point I am now being bothered by the Manager. Explaining to me that the kitchen closes in 4 minutes and that since we've eaten he can no longer JUSTIFY our friend being there. I'm Sorry, didn't know this was Gullifty's BAR. Our friend waited outside, not being able to even participate in the karaoke because of the continuous disruptions from staff and the rudeness that came with them. Train your staff and put some signs up about the 21+ after midnight for karaoke. I will NEVER be going back. I'd rather set fire to my money.

    I've only been here for drinks at the bar, so I can't comment on the food. The drink service is pretty bad. One night, when trying to buy 3 drinks for myself and two friends, the bartender told me that she could only serve one drink at a time. After serving just one drink, she went on to serve other patrons at a relatively crowded bar before returning to our group. So while two of us waited for a beer, the other was just being polite and eyeing his. Another night they ran out of Sam Adams and Harp before midnight, which I find hard to believe considering the former is an American staple. I think they were just lazy and didn't want to change the tap.

Waitress was very friendly and patiently answered all our questions (we were overwhelmed by the dinner menu, the beer menu, the sandwiches/wraps menu, the desserts menu, AND the happy hour menu... can you blame us?). .. but then she avoided us like the plague. Not cool. Nice and cozy restaurant with a bar. Food can be expensive ($11 for enchiladas? Come on. $14 for a sandwich? Geez louise.) but then you realize how huge the portions are. The grinder sandwiches are definitely enough for two meals. Things were generally seasoned well (mmm cheese fries), and the margueritas were decent. Though, i wouldn't get the margueritas if they weren't happy hour specials. They were tasty but nothing spectacular. Extra star for carrying Belgian beers! And for splitting up our receipts nicely so we didn't have to figure it out for ourselves who owed what! The only annoying thing was that they make this big deal about how amazing their pizzas were.... I got a $5 individual bbq chicken pizza from the happy hour menu and it tasted like cardboard. Thank God it was only $5.

    This used to be our Go To Place on a Friday night. We loved the burgers, pizza and the atmosphere. I was nice to go with out boys an enjoy a nice dinner. Their food has changed and it is not good, especially the burgers. They used to have Brioche buns that were an awesome compliment to the burgers, now they have Awful Pretzel buns that have an weird texture and taste ( stale).     Tremendous beer list. Cheap well drinks, special drinks can get a little pricy, buyer beware. I had a Old fashioned that was served without being shaken and without a stir stick. Busy night at the bar meant I had to flag down the bar tender after nursing the drink for 8 minutes or so. Once stirred, very tasty. Fried Calamari is one of the best appetizers there, potato skins are good too. Desserts are great, it's very hard to save room but at least one time when you visit, either pile it in or only get an appetizer. Key lime pie is out of this world. Last night I have the Ciro Chicken fajitas served sizzling with peppers and onions same old same old? NO. Fried chicken tenders tossed in hot wing sauce! and served with cheese, lettuces, tomato, sour cream, salsa and four flour tortillas. add 1$ for guacamole :( However the amount of chicken could hardly fit in 5 tortillas let alone 4, but don't worry, I made it work. Great place to go with friends or on a date. I return often.

    I've been here a handful of times now and I've enjoyed it every time. 1. The food I've had is super delicious ... I very rarely empty a plate, but I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here so much, I practically licked it clean! 2. If you're a big beer drinker this is the place for you. If you like some funky cocktails, they've got something for you! And a full bar of the classics for the boring people like me. 3. Atmosphere is fun. One night we sat at the weird seating in the bar and we had a blast just meeting and eating with strangers. I can see how people wouldn't enjoy this, but given it was a weekend night and everyone was just out for a good time, it turned out to be very fun! Definitely plan on going back in the warmer months to check out the outdoor area. Cons: Gets pretty busy, always a wait.

    Trivia night on Thursdays is pretty rad...if you're into sports and 1980s pop culture...or are just out to consume the widest range of beer in the shortest amount of time in a sort of down-home restaurbar environment. (Think Cheers + Applebees.) The real problems with Gullifty's are outside. The porch-deck-bar-thing has a grill, but the menu is limited to beefy delights. Vegetarians and inebriated college students would be sad to discover that sweet potato fries are not served outside. Drunkards would be sad to find that Guinness is not available outside...nor are all of the other wonderful beers that makes Gullifty's inside so awesome. You could always have a Coors Light, but only after they run out of Blue Moon on tap...or you could pay $10 for a mediocre organic strawberry cider that you drink 1) to offset its high price and 2) to get drunk enough that you feel good that you just bought organic and that your inner hippy is happy.

    I'm really torn about the G'liff, but need to give it two stars for tonight's experience. There is no excuse for a bar/restaurant in this area to turn into what was ostensibly a Giants bar, with only 4 douchebag NYG fans outnumbering Iggles fans in this place. That's really f*ing sad. I was here for great Phillies playoffs wins this past season, including Halladay's historic no-hitter debut, and it was packed. That was mere weeks ago. What happened in the interim is a mystery, but while I will probably return, you can bet I won't be parking my ass here for future Iggles games. Thankfully, the game turned around and the Gnats fans left with a loss. Still doesn't give this place a pass, though. Two stars. Embrace and support your local roots, G'liff.

    Gullifty's is a restaurant and bar featuring a pizza grille. It's well-decorated and would probably be a decent date spot. A group of us dined here such a long time ago we vaguely remember what we had. (Obviously our experience wasn't that traumatizing nor uplifting so that we'd remember details.) For dessert, we DID share a slice of strawberry chiffon pie, which tasted fine. Can't STRONGLY recommend against Gullifty's, but I recall service was pleasant - however, your mileage may vary!

    I was very impressed by this place. They had so much good food on the menu and I only wish I could've ordered more. I could easily gain 10 pounds in a day eating here! I was here with family for my sister's college graduation and this was one of her favorite places to eat. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and it did not disappoint. The kettle chips that it came with were really good, too. We also ordered buffalo chicken strips for appetizers and I was blown away by them. First off all, they weren't really strips but rather whole breasts! Secondly, they tasted really good and I liked the crispy texture on the outside. And finally, since they were too much to eat in one sitting, they made great leftovers! I can definitely see this as a popular place for college students in the local area. This is a place I will want to re-visit should I return to this town again.

    We have been there several times, more than 10 because we live close by. They have a habit of selling weak short drinks. You get much less to drink than in any neighboring establishment. When asked about it, the bartender woman became quickly very unpleasant and short. This restaurant needs to make the bar side more customer friendly. The salmon is good; I wish that they offered a steak at a decent price. At this point I think it will be a while before we come back, because we like to eat at the bar. We went back in June. No improvements on the drinks. The food was bad and expensive. Lessons learned: We only go other places now.

    I really enjoy good quality food, but Gullifty's rarely, if ever, delivers. It is often a temptation because it takes up a nice space under the Borders in Bryn Mawr/Rosemont and has a bar and patio. Yet each time I give it another chance, I am once again disappointed. The food inside is passable, but the food on the outside deck is horrible. I paid $11 last night for a sandwich that made absolutely no sense and tasted wrong--grilled chicken smothered with a bad buffalo sauce, served with mozzarella cheese, spring mix, red onion, on a whole grain ciabatta roll. Yuck. The glass of wine I ordered was on the chintzy side as well, and was served in a plastic cup rather than wine glass. If you're looking for good pub or grill food, I'd highly recommend The Grog a little down the way. It is smaller and offers only street or metered parking before 6 p.m., but the food is much better and I never feel like they are ripping me off when I want a decent sandwich and drink.

I've had a few sandwiches and appetizers, and they were all very good. The outdoor seating section is nice, but it has an entirely different beer and food selection. The indoor seating has a much wider variety. Check their website for specials. Some of their beer specials are really good.

    The beer selection at this place is phenomenal (20 on tap and over 130 bottles including Dogfish head, Flying Fish, Boulevard, Magic Hat, Victory, Bell's), and since I like good beer, that makes me very happy. Sadly, that's the only thing going for this place. Their pizzas are 4-star pizzas and their burgers are 4-star burgers, but there's something just not quite right with the quality of the food. The dishes were dirty, there was a mystery fry mixed in with my wife's burger (she order a salad instead of fries), and there was a thick layer of table sugar lying underneath what would have otherwise been a good cheesecake. I don't know - in terms of quality, something just didn't add up. The service was kind of slow and try-hard as well, and the decor, well, that was nice, but not 5 stars either. There were also lots of annoying mainline families/kids/whatever sitting all around. The place is also in the midst of a half-abandoned shopping mall, which takes away any points it might have gotten for character or charm. Overall, even though I love good beer, I just can't give this place more than 3 stars. Too bad.

    A few co-workers and I came here for a happy hour last week. I had driven right past this place for months, but never knew of its existence until several days ago. Happy hour drink/food specials are all $5, and your money really does goes far here. Delerium Tremens, one of my favorites, was $5, but unfortunately they were out of it. Fear not, because Duvel was also one of the specials! I was a happy man. We also shared a few of the $5 plates of wings, chicken nachos, and fried mozzarella, which were all of much better quality than I'd usually expect from bar food. We'll definitely be back again soon for the tasty food, great beer selection, and friendly atmosphere.

    To be honest I keep on coming back even though it is not that great of a restaurant. The fried mozzarella is the main reason why I keep on coming back. That may be the best thing on the menu. Every time I go, I order the fried mozzarella, chicken tenders, and occasionally the chicken quesadilla. During the summer the menu on outside grill is better than most on their year round menu.

The atmosphere downstairs is kind of dark but tends to get brighter on the higher levels. Their menu is bistro type food and median priced (no real bargains).     Gullifty's is where I go to watch my friends give me a karaoke show. Not to mention good beers - oh my gosh - their beer list is absolutely amazing : ) Go on Wednesday night, the karaoke song list is pretty good and the crowd is OK. Last time I went there were some kick ass singers, but (according to me) karaoke is intended for people who would never ever have a chance of getting on American Idol. Aside from that, the guy running the songs is very fair and goes in the order songs are received. Beer list is so awesome! I only realized this the last time I went (I was really going for the karaoke all of the other times I've ever gone). Anyways, they always have a great selection on tap as well and you should definitely check it out. Food is also awesome. I had a burger and it wasn't the best burger I've ever had, but pretty damn good and it definitely hit the spot : )

She sent it back and requested another bowl of soup. We were promtly charged for that second bowl for her...SERIOUSLY!! My wife ordered linguini with meatballs. The meatballs were passable but the linguini had not been drained properly so her sauce turned into soup. First time in over 20 years I have not tipped at least 18%. This place is in dire need of training and management.

    Okay, here's how you know that I'm a big Gullifty's fan: I was there while they were robbed at gunpoint (they've since installed more security) and I still go back all the time. In college, this was the place that we went for dinner whenever my parents came to visit. Food is always solid - actually made with very natural ingredients, which the owner prides himself on - and they by far have the best beer selection on the Main Line. The outside seating is a lot of fun on a nice night and the menu out there is great. Definitely worth a trip, whether you're a Nova student or a business person looking for a new happy hour spot.

    Like so many other reviewers said, this is an old Main Line favorite. It's also one of the few reliable, non-box restaurants around that's casual and reasonably priced. While I find the dining room downstairs a little dark and depressing during the day, the upstairs is bright and much more cheery. The service can sometimes be a bit off, but is usually quite adequate for a place like this. There's a lot to choose from on the menu, even for vegetarians. I highly recommend the Pizza Provencal. Yummy!

    This place is solid if you want a decent but not overly expensive dinner. My only issue with it is that the bar is smack in the middle of the dining area and if you are located nearby, it can be extremely loud. I'd rather go to Bertuccis though which is about 2 minutes away and has similar prices.

    it's not the best of places, but it does have amazing pie (thanks for making me remember Jonathan). Other then that it really doesn't offer too much beyond a decent beer selection. the fact that you can walk around a Borders before you wait to be seated does have it's appeal. but due to the amount of time that you end up waiting since they forgot about you, the appeal wears off quickly. at least they have a good outdoor section.

    There is only one redeeming thing about the food at Gullifty's. Their strawberry pie. Man, that is some good stuff. Otherwise, the food here is mediocre on a good day. Unfortunately, they seem to have as many bad days as good. I'm not really sure why this is. The thing is, I'm always tricked into going back here. Someone will inevitably suggest going here, and I'll think to myself, "ugh. I don't want to go there." But a few minutes later, when we're walking inside, I think to myself, "okay, this is really going to be better this time." But it's not. It never is. And then I eat strawberry pie and forget about how much I just hated my meal. It's not fair I tell you. They do have a decent beer selection and a lot of TVs, so I'll give them credit for that too. Did I mention the strawberry pie?

    They brag about their take out so we decided to try it out. We called, placed our order, and were told it'd be ready for pickup in 15mins. When we got there 15mins later as expected they placed the order from behind the bar and then took 25mins between preparation and delivery! The food was eatable, but not worth the hassle. Never again!

    Ciabattaaaaaaa....get the vegan burger (more like a falafel) on the ciabatta bun with a bit of mustard. Honestly, I couldn't even finish it, and I don't usually leave food over. It's very filling and super yummy. The desserts are phenom and worth the extra cals ;) Other good veggie eats include the portobello burger, the portobello wrap, pizzas, salads, calzones (killer), soups....yeah, it's great. Plus, it's in the same building as a Borders, so it's great for a lazy afternoon of lunch and reading :)
