Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I've eaten here a few times and have never left without feeling a little nauseous. I was next store getting yogurt and saw a closed sign with a court summons on the door. Rude staff. Crap food. No attention to cleanliness. Glad to see this and hope the health dept did their jobs and saved others from a hospital trip.
(1)Pamela G.
I get drawn in by the pretty decor every time. ..then ultimately disappointed with the food itself.
(3)Chris D.
Used to be great, now it's well below average. Just kind of dirty - foods that real fresh - faucet in the bathroom has been broken for two months. Chicken hot dry pepper still decent - sushi is still decent. Just not what it used to be
(2)Corey N.
Worst buffet ever. I would give it 0 stars if i could. Service is awful. Sushi was disgusting. Food was either bland and watery or had so much salt it was inedible. The hibachi grill chef didn't know what to do. I gave him a plate with veggies and raw meat. He takes the meat, cooks it and puts it back on the raw veggies. Can you say salmonella? 2 best parts of the meal. First the ice cream (because they didn't make it) & second the fact that this awful meal was finally over. Do your self a favor and eat anywhere else!
(1)Shannon P.
I gave them another shot and was just as disappointed as the first time. HORRIBLE in every way imaginable regarding the food quality...
(1)Brett T.
Complete and utter garbage. Food bland. Service sucks. Better not want water to wash down the horrible food you're eating, you ain't getting it. Dirty bathroom. Can't even take time to replace half the dead lights in the bathroom or fix the faucet broken off the wall. All of this would be fine. If the food didn't suck. Probably would get a better meal at McDonald's and that is sad.
(1)Andrea F.
Ugh! This place used to be worth going to.. Recently (past 5 to 8 times) it's gross. The food seems old, my son found a piece of metal in his ice cream, the bathroom sink has been broken for forever, it has an odd smell and they forget to refill your water/drink. And to top it off they don't give mints out when you leave anymore. It's as if they are trying to do everything as cheap as possible including skipping out on keeping every thing clean. I'm so sad for them.
(2)Marc S.
This place once was a find now it is a total zero!! The never put food out when they do it sits unheated truly disgusting! The owner would rather watch TV or play with his iPhone than to run what could be a gold mine! This truly is Chinese buffet at its absolute worse!!!!
(1)Rese W.
I always think I want to eat a buffet and once I'm there I realize I have made a big mistake. This was indeed the case here. It was not good. Beautiful atmosphere though.
(1)Julie R.
Terrible! We went on a Saturday around 11:30 and considering they opened at 11 I assumed the food would be hot and fresh. Some was fresh, all was cold. I can't believe it's safe to serve cold-ish meat dishes under lamps. The servers are all extremely rude, very snobbish. I asked for a high chair instead of a booster and literally got an eye roll. It's crazy they have stayed in business and the health department hasn't at least paid a surprise visit.
(1)Gretchen S.
This was our first time trying the Hibachi Grill. We ordered takeout-not the buffet. First of all-I had to wait about 15 min longer than what was quoted for the food to be ready. While I was waiting I noticed a couple of things that freaked me out- first, the coin fountain that had one sad fish in it (uh, btw, fish shouldn't be in a pond with coins and an electrical cord running through it!) and 2nd, I noticed one of the cooks come out to the buffet to get fruit for OUR order wearing flip flops! Ugh. :( As for the food, they mistakenly had the wrong dish on our bill and didn't even give that to us- even though we paid for it. I realized that at home. The tofu dish I got was mushy and bland. The sauce on the chicken dish was so gooey I couldn't believe my husband could eat it. Basically I couldn't eat my food. Unfortunately I threw out my order and immediately ordered from our normal local Chinese place (which was so much better!).
(1)Jodeci J.
Terrible why does the chicken pork and beef all taste the same? The decore is gaudy the man working barely spoke English. Rather order take out and stay home
(1)Kip B.
Horrible food, no selection, greasy, some over cooked, not a authentic environment, food looked old.... on top of that it was 12 per person plus 2 for drinks
(1)Bruce S.
When we wandered in, I wanted to sit down at the hibachi and mix entertainment with a feast that can only be delivered next to the steamy, hibachi grill. So, imagine my disappointment when I realized this wasn't a HIBACHI RESTAURANT... it was a restaurant with a buffet and hibachi. And you had to get up, go to the hibachi and stand there while the cooked your food. *frown*. So, that being the case... I set up for my usual chinese buffet plan. Start with the egg rolls and some rice, then work into the chicken feats and then maybe some beef and maybe even a piece of pork. I *never* eat seafood at a buffet. So here's the rundown... the egg rolls were decent, average to above average for a chinese buffet. Fried rice was a bit dry and flavorless but not terrible unusual for a buffet. General Tso's Chicken was taster, Sweet & Sour Chicken was meaty -- not little over cook pieces. The Pepper Chicken (called Salt & Pepper chicken at other places) was just a little spicy and tasted just right. Chicken Grade: Above Average and Tasty I started my way toward the beef and thought to myself... hell... this buffet costs $10.95 -- I'm getting me some hibachi steak! So I did. I carefully chose a good looking piece of beef, chose my mix-ins and the ginger sauce and about ten minutes later I made my way back to my table with some pepper steak on the side. The pepper steak was good, sauce was tasty and peppers were crunchy. The hibachi steak was very good. It was *not* as good as a regular hibachi restaurant, however my dinner didn't cost $20 and I got a full steak. The flavor was good and the meat was fresh and tasty. A solid hibachi steak. Beef Grade: Very Good. I had a cup of coffee and some of their ice cream (green tea!) and was more than satisfied with my meal. Overall this place was slightly better than your average chinese buffet. But the hibachi grill made the difference here... better than the other buffet in Pottstown with the mongolian grill by far. We will be going back! One thing I agree with that other said... wow.. the decor is something else!
(4)M D.
When you walk into a chinese buffet you should go in knowing that the food is not going to be as good as your average family-run chinese restaurant. Given that fact, this is a pretty good buffet with some tasty dishes and a large selection to choose from. Seafood quality can be iffy- lobster/crab is often overcooked. Carved meats are often very good. The atmosphere is very gaudy and over the top. Staff rarely speaks or understands English, is borderline rude on occasion.
(3)Hien D.
The price is OK, there is usually a coupon in the monthly clipper that brings the price down a couple of dollars. When you get there at a reasonable time and not 30 minutes before it closes the food is fine. Nothing great, it's just your run of the mill buffet. Sadly it's also the best I've had in the Pottstown area. The staff isn't all too friendly. The sushi "chef" and man behind the grill/hibachi aren't very accommodating. This place isn't all bad we go about once a month with the urge for mass quantities of food calls.
(2)Travis M.
Really, really terrible. Cold, bland food. Does the insane number of options really matter if it all tastes the same anyway? I'm not picky by any stretch. This is just bad. Not that it has any bearing on this review but the decor is laughable.
(1)Jamee W.
Terrible. And I'm not picky. Here is what you'll find on the buffet (and seriously in this order): octopus salad, next to banana pudding, next to cold onion rings, next to cold and terrible mac and cheese, next to egg rolls, next to sweet and sour chicken, next to what looks like day old pizza from dominos, next to cold and spongy potato wedges, next to donuts (not even kidding), next to something unlabeled, next to something marked vegetarian but it's not, next to something a vegetable, next tuna salad (with no rolls) and it goes on and on. The sushi is a joke. There are about 10 pieces out at one time (even though the place is packed) and it looks old. The the chef stands there but doesn't actually offer to make anything nor does he want to make anything you ask for. There is NO HIBACHI. There IS a grill where they might make you stir fry but no one actually mans it or offers to make you anything. We called ahead to ask if there were vegetarian options and they said yes and we could always order off the menu. When we saw the buffet, my husband asked to order off the menu instead. It took about 3 waitresses and the manager to understand HOW to submit an order off the menu (even thought they handed us one when we walked in). After he placed the order, the waitress came over about 3 times to confirm his order. When it arrived, it was tofu in water and hot sauce. I would seriously consider whether you want varied food (which you will get) or food with good taste. If you want taste, avoid this place. Lastly, the decor is something special. Red velvet, etched glass, LED trees. Holy gaudy, batman.
(1)Virgil N.
I usually go here twice a year when I visit my Grandparents in Perkiomenville. I think the food is very good for how cheap it is. The sushi is always different and fresh; however, I think over the years, it has gotten a little "weirder". What I mean is they have abandoned the traditional ways of making simple tuna rolls, california rolls etc. and have started to make crazy weird things such as chunky peanut sauce topping and colorful displays of seaweed and fishcake on top of rolls. Anyway, the only real downside to this place is that they don't change their menu very often... at least not drastically for a few years. The atmosphere is very nice. The tea could be a little hotter though. It's awesome!
(4)Tim D.
As it comes to Chinese buffets this place is the top par. Decorations are great. Food is awesome and at a lower price than most buffets. This place is worth trying out you will not be disappointed if you like Chinese buffets.
(5)David M.
Great atmosphere. Very wide selection of food. Food was very good and the lunch buffet price was extremely reasonable.
(4)Jeni A.
This place was great when it opened now it is frankly just ugh (although my children like it) but isn't that what happens to every Chinese buffet?? I'm giving it two stars because the kids like it, there is a decent selection and the service is always attentive plus they have green tea ice cream which is one of my favorite treats that I can usually only find at the Reading Terminal Market.
(2)Matt K.
This is hands down the best oriental buffet, grill, and sushi bar in the area. The sushi and hibachi grill are truly one of a kind and the chef will create the most incredible dishes if you just ask for something a little different. See the photos I uploaded to see exactly what I'm talking about. Our meal tonight was easily over 100$ anywhere else and the quality is comparable to center city hot spots. Please do not believe the bogus one star reviews below with broken English that are clearly from competitors and give this place a shot. You will NOT be disappointed!
(5)William j.
Omg bugs on the curtans, also when leaving I drove around back and they had food sitting outside horrible never again! This place is horrible and nasty! Next thing it will be bugs inside.
(1)Stephan C.
Wide array of tasty chinese fare. Nice sushi selection. Foods are kept fresh and buffet areas kept clean. Lunchtime pricing very reasonable.
(4)Joshua S.
We have been there a few times and never had a bad experience. I have enjoyed the taste and variety of food. While its a bit more $ than your typical Asian buffet, I do not mind as I definitely feel I get my money's worth. Maybe it's not quite New York quality fine dining, but it seems a step above other area asian retaurants. I found the decor very interesting and better than most buffets. On my first visit, I thought they built THIS in Pottstown? (a good comment) Try and decide for yourself because expectations and tatses can vary. I think most folks will enjoy it.
(4)Diana S.
Good food. The hibachi chefs are great, especially with kids.
(4)Ed W.
The place has interesting decor, but the food is YUCK. King Buffet's food is far better and I will continue to go there.
(1)C P.
This has got to be one of the worst restaurants I have ever experienced. The sushi order was completely wrong. We had to ask what the rolls were when they came to the table! The white fish on the sushi was bad. Service was deplorable. The decor is awful- velvet booths and tables up to your chin. Very tacky and poor quality overall. Don't waste your time and money
(1)T B.
Last night, 9/22, was my first and last stop here. You will certainly be dazzled by the atmosphere, but the buck stops there. Every chicken dish tasted exactly the same, SALTY. The noodles were cold and the salad "bar" looked as if it was prepared by young children with week old ingredients. How bad is it that my 6 and 9 year olds both pushed away the Mac & Cheese? Both said it was "cold" and "didn't taste very good" with their faces scrunched up. After my sampling of the different chicken offerings I thought about trying something else until I really looked over the buffet. I turned down most based on looks alone, but I must say that the sugar donuts, garlic bread and ice cream was good, none of which could really be considered "Chinese". Next time I'll go to one of the finer sit-down Chinese restaurants in the area, pay a little more, but get a decent meal with leftovers for lunch the next day.
(1)Chad R.
UPDATE: This USED to be the best chinese buffet in Pottstown. However, recently everytime I go here the food is cold. Unfortunately, since it's opened the quality has consistenly dropped as the price consistenly increases. They have recently added a $2.99 price increase to have crab legs added to your dinner meal. One person for lunch on a saturday ends up costing around $15....just a bit much for super COLD food.... They open at 11 a.m. on a Sunday and by 11:15 a majority of the food was already cold....sad because they had so much potential.
(1)Adrienne J.
First let me start by saying that upon entry the decor and setting of this place will blow you away. You are seated and asked for drink selection as per usual and then you may enter the buffet area and make your dish selections anywhere from Chinese to American dishes such as crab legs which are $2.99 more in addition to the buffet price. They also have a fresh sushi bar with an array of different sushi choices to choose from, they also will do a stir fry of choice with fresh veggies. The downside to this place aside from the good food choices is the staff is not too friendly and very hurried to the point where several times i was bumped into either trying to get my food or trying to return back to my table and never once did anyone say excuse me or Im sorry. I witnessed one of the Asian workers referring to one of the American workers as a "bitch." The first time i came here with a group and our waitress got mad because she was tipped a $1.00 for poor service and came out and threw it at us and began to yell inappropriate things. Its a shame that i returned to this place twice since my initial visit and the only reason for that was the food choices and quality.
(3)Jim M.
Excellent food and service. If you Love sushi there is fairly large variety , its made fresh and it is a excellent bargain to boot
(5)Mat L.
The selection was varied and strange, but none of it was any good. I mean seriously, I tried all kinds of dishes (against my better judgement) and they were all some combination of flavorless or greasy or badly prepared.
(1)Tim A.
Broad array of bland, spiceless, greasy food. Reasonably cheap prices but cheaper quality food that just didn't satisfy my palette.
(2)M. D.
This is the best chinese buffet in the area. Perhaps not really four stars, but relatively speaking it is pretty good! Since they opened in the past year, they've kept the place up and the buffet offers an array of different choices. They try hard, good service, and it's a nice atmosphere.
(4)Charlene P.
I would gave this place 0 star . Stay away from here .don't waste your time and your money here。 There is nothing to eat .the food look like stay there forever .never bring out any fresh food .food was totally dry and cold. Spareribs taste funny ,sushi bar and hibachi bar has nothing .no kidding .they all Empty。we really disppionted we were hungry .so we asked sushi chef if he can get some fish for us .they said the boss would be mad if they do that .so we gave him $5.he gave us few piece fish which r unfresh .we really feel sick .never come back .

Ok... Smart Yelpers always check yelp before going somewhere..... Unfortunately, I'm not smart. My wife and I went tonight, for the lobster buffet they offer. Good news, no wait; bad news, it's because it's terrible. First of all, no lobster even offered. Not even really what we wanted. The hibachi kid was an absolute ingrate. Didn't speak English, we'll wait let me back up....there were NO vegetables offered. The chicken was pathetic, I didn't bother with the grayish looking steak. Anyway back to the "chef"... No English, took all meat from plate, half cooked it, then decided best to just put it back on the plate I gave it to him on. No Bueno. I thought I would try and attack some delish crab legs....only problem is they don't have delish crab legs....they have disgusting, old crab legs sitting in a steam pot for hours. Because I'm fat, that didn't stop me tho....but then I realized they didn't have butter. My wife let them know and asked if they would bring us some. They brought a bowl of cold butter. That was enough for us. What a joke and sad excuse for hibachi and/or Chinese buffet. It's neither. It's a low grade stop on the bankruptcy train.
(1)Sybille P.
I used to go here a lot for lunch. Their lunch buffet is $4.50/lb for a take-out box, which is all right with me. However they only have the small boxes which sucks if you're super hungry. Anywho, I said I used to come here a lot and why used to? 2 reasons: 1- they charge $1 per piece of sushi for take-out which is ridiculous since it's not real sushi and it's not even that good. 2- on my last trip there I picked up some of their fried wings and the inside of them were black. There's a difference between burnt chicken black and old chicken black and it was definitely the latter. After that, I never went back.

Omg bugs on the curtans, also when leaving I drove around back and they had food sitting outside horrible never again! This place is horrible and nasty! Next thing it will be bugs inside.

Wide array of tasty chinese fare. Nice sushi selection. Foods are kept fresh and buffet areas kept clean. Lunchtime pricing very reasonable.

Really, really terrible. Cold, bland food. Does the insane number of options really matter if it all tastes the same anyway? I'm not picky by any stretch. This is just bad. Not that it has any bearing on this review but the decor is laughable.

As it comes to Chinese buffets this place is the top par. Decorations are great. Food is awesome and at a lower price than most buffets. This place is worth trying out you will not be disappointed if you like Chinese buffets.

Good food. The hibachi chefs are great, especially with kids.

The place has interesting decor, but the food is YUCK. King Buffet's food is far better and I will continue to go there.

Broad array of bland, spiceless, greasy food. Reasonably cheap prices but cheaper quality food that just didn't satisfy my palette.

Excellent food and service. If you Love sushi there is fairly large variety , its made fresh and it is a excellent bargain to boot

The selection was varied and strange, but none of it was any good. I mean seriously, I tried all kinds of dishes (against my better judgement) and they were all some combination of flavorless or greasy or badly prepared.
