Was expecting a fresh product from their cheesesteak. What I got was something that tasted like a frozen processed steak. Did not taste like freshly chopped ribeye to me, They also do not keep their condiments out, hate to ask for stuff from these "philly" establishments, just want to get in and get out without too much interaction. Also too much religious/political propaganda decorations for me to stomach.

Definitely a place to go. I had a Plain Steak and loved it. There is unlimited refills on drinks and the owner and wait staff are friendly. I can hardly wait to be back to PA so I can go back to get another Philly sandwich at the Hoagie House.

If you're looking for a good cheese steak and your not in Philly this is the place to go. I would suggest sticking with the cheese steak. It is their best sandwich, you can't go wrong. The others are okay, but just not like the cheese steak. I know it is not Phillly, but still, it is worth checking out!

Small Hoagie / Sub / Cheesesteak place on Simpson Ferry & Wesley Drive. It is right next to the east gate plaza. I've been there for lunch 3 times now in the past month. I originally reviewed this, but filed it under the wrong address, there are like 3 businesses with this same name in the HBG / MBG / CAR area. You can buy an 8, 10 or 12 inch cheese steak, cheese, onions, the works, whatever you want. fries are pretty decent, a standard lunch costs around 7 - 8 bucks, it's pretty good. it has a similar layout to what Geno's has with photographs of the owner and their family all over the country with different celebrities, famous people, politicians, musicians, etc.

I had heard good things about this place, so when we were in the neighborhood last week, my wife and I tried it out. The kid at the counter was great...very helpful and polite. The food took forever to come out - but tasted pretty good...not the best cheese steak by far - but tasty none the less. I also had the zuccini fries - they were good - but could have used a better dipping sauce than ranch.

Just picked up and ate take out from Philadelphia Steak and Hoagie House, and it was delicious. My mom and grandma split a 12 inch Italian hoagie, and they wished they had ordered more. The hoagie was loaded with meat! This is my favorite hoagie spot (so far) in the area. I would not recommend this place to sit down.

Unbelievably expensive compared to other sandwich shops in the area. An 18" cheesesteak cost me $16! That's nearly a dollar per inch! Also to mention the dining area is a place where the owner hangs out with old buddies of his while talking loudly. This wouldn't be so horrible if he didn't interrupt your meal by yelling across the dining area to try to include you in his conversations without invitation. The owner even threw a wet dirty rag at me while I was eating playing it off as a joke. Go to Da Vinci's on Carlisle Pike instead for the best cheesesteaks anywhere I've been. Way cheaper, better quality, great atmosphere and staff that respects its customers

Sorry, but cannot recommend. We used to buy here often, up to a few years ago. Then we went by one day and saw that they leave the front door wide open, allowing insects and flies in. If you are too cheap to invest in a screen door and air conditioner, then what other corners are being cut??? No Thanks. So the other day, in the middle of winter, we figured to try it again. The inside is unfortunately run down. At one time the idea of putting pictures of patrons with copies of the menu taken at different places was novel and cute however with them plastered on the walls and ceiling, just plain tacky and dirty looking. The table we sat at was held together with strapping tape to keep some of the Formica in place while another area of the table had a chunk of Formica missing altogether. Overall the place is in need of a make-over and thorough cleaning/clean-up. The employees table, a gathering spot when they are doing anything, is located right in front of the counter. The owner and an employee were having a loud conversation that rattled throughout the tiny dining area. No such thing as a quiet meal. The food was ok but nothing special. Fries were underdone. Prices somewhat high for what you get and where you are. Small Steak sandwich, grilled chicken salad, baby fries and 2 soft fountain soft drinks came to over $25. You can go to Philadelphia Steak and Hoagies on the Carlisle Pike a few miles away, order 2 of the Little Philly specials that come with fries and drink, get more food, for about 2/3 of the price and less clutter and noise.

I've eaten here several times but the Italian hoagie has made me sick more than once. So I've stopped going.

You pay for the quality, but they consistently make it worth the dime. Owner is frequently present. Fresh, hot food. Nice to kids.

The place is in strange location but the food was quite delicious. It seemed they were a bit overpriced but all and all good food.

Excellent sandwiches and cheese steaks! The owner is a funny older man that is very nice and kind. The staff os very outgoing and knowledgeable about the menu. I really like this place and recommend it. The sign outside always makes me smile :)

I go here about once a week. Food is a bit pricy but good... The employees are always polite.. I usually get the hometown hoagie or the cheesesteak which both are awesome..

Julius is a nice guy and makes a pretty mean cheese steak. I work close enough that I can call an order in, walk over and have it ready by the time I get there. Their California steak/chicken sub is fantastic as well. If you know you are going to be traveling abroad, Julius collects pictures of people holding his menu in far off places and lands. Pretty cool to take a look at where some people will hold one of these up for the man.

I've been there or four times now. The cheese steaks have always been top notch. Tonight they found themselves with a busy stretch and fell sorely behind. I think that it must have been more than a 30 minute wait. They handled it very well from a customer service standpoint. They made sure everyone drinks were full and gave out fries to those waiting. Too many places would have ignored the customers when pushing out the food. These people did the opposite, and all with a great attitude. A 5 star experience.

There are quite a few Phila steak and hoagie spots around Harrisburg, but I find this place to be worthy of the namesake. I haven't tried the steaks but the hoagie was done right, absolutely delicious. Prices are decent for what you get. The place is just a little food shack on the corner of Simpson Ferry Road and Wesley Drive, littered on the inside with pictures of the owner with various celebs and the like, quite similar to a couple touristy steak spots in south Phila actually. . . Great place to drop in for lunch.

Great Hoagies! Lots of choices! Friendly service!

This little place is awesome with great tasting Cheesesteak hoagies. Over the past several years, my wife and I have enjoyed going there to pick up our hoagies. Friendly staff, great food.

We had the chicken philly - so this review may be irrelevant and I thought was tasty, but my boyfriend thought their sandwiches were on the small side (skim on meat) for the prices they charge. They have large menu and offer more than cheesesteaks and hoagies and everything is made to order! We didnt have any probles with the staff or the owners. It is small (approx 5 tables) and looks like a cluttered hole in the wall but sometimes those places have the best food.

After all of the great local reviews for this place I decided to try it. ? Definitely not bad but 2 cheesesteaks and 2 drinks somehow came out to something like $35. too much money and I have had better locally for a much better price
