We've been coming here frequently since Pizzeria UNO closed. Several of Uno's bartenders work here now. The food is very good and they have a good variety of beers on tap. The bar area is much bigger than Uno's and there is no waiting for a seat.

We thought we would try ground round, in an attempt to relive some childhood memories. We went at lunchtime on a Saturday, and it was mildly busy, but we got our table in about 5 minutes. The VERY 1st thing I noticed upon entering were 2 signs, clearly made on Microsoft Word. 1 sign indicated you had to have your entire party together before being seated. And another clearly stated no children in the lounge. I know, it sounds petty, but I think signs like that are so tacky and really bring your establishment down a few notches. As I rounded the corner, found another computer generated sign, stating "DO NO'T HELP YOURSELF TO THE POPCORN, ITS AGAINST HEALTH CODE" or something like that. Although our waitress was excellent, the hostess and...I'm assuming here, the manager, weren't happy to be working there, it was clear by their gestures and overall demeanor. The menu is boring. Red Robin, TGI Fridays, Ruby Tuesday esque. You won't be impressed. We both got salads, and they were boring. Kids menu was standard issue. In an economy like this, it amazes me that a place like this would attempt to compete in the Oxford Valley area, and not differentiate themselves. I give it 6 mos. 12 max.

Nothing Special. Looks like Ground Round kept most of Charlie Brown's (which it replaced at this location) motif with the exception that they took out the large salad bar and put in extra seats. Service was friendly and attentive. My sirloin was ok, just ok; the taste was good but just an average cut of meat. The one piece of steak I gave my friend to taste had a piece of sinew hanging out which was not appealing. Friend's BBQ ribs were good and she would get them again. Unsweetened Ice Tea was below par in taste and would not order again. Will try a burger next time but with a # of burger restaurants in the area a place really needs to really excel to warrant repeat visits.

We came to The Ground Round, like many others, remembering a great place that we used to enjoy back in the 80s/90s. Also, like many others, how disappointed we were. We arrived at TGR around 6:45 and were greeted by friendly hostesses who told us the wait was approximately 20 minutes, we had 5 in our party, 3 adults and 2 children. We figured 20 minutes was a reasonable wait and we saw that they were "celebrating" their 1 year anniversary and offering 50% off of the food so we decided to wait. Turns out the wait was less than 20 minutes, we were soon seated. Or server was Donna and although she was nice enough, she was less than stellar as a server. I personally work as a server and so I feel I am able to offer a pretty informed opinion. My niece has a severe dairy allergy so when we sat down we asked if anything was available for her. We were told that the fries would be fine but when I investigated further, it turns out that the fries are cooked in a shared frier which is NOT fine and could have tragic results for her. My sister is always prepared with food for her to eat so after this major flub in knowledge, we decided to just give her the food we brought. I did ask to speak to the manager to see if we could find her anything safe but at that point, my sister was too concerned to give her anything from TGR so we decided against it. I do understand that not everyone has extensive knowledge of food allergies, but in this day and age, there should be some awareness if you're employed in the food industry, shared frier, is Food Allergy 101. We ordered a the appetizer trio, three sandwiches, two with slight modifications and a kids' meal. The appetizer came in a reasonable amount of time and was acceptable for fried mozz sticks, buffalo tenders and potato skins but was nothing special. Then... the trouble began. We received our appetizer around 7:15 and by 7:50, we still had no entrees. The kids were tired and hungry. No one had visited our table to tell us what was going on so we asked our server when we managed to find her and call her over. She had no logical answer other than "we are busy" and "I ordered your food before that table's food and I've been watching for it to come up on the screen in the back." I then asked if we could speak to a manager as the amount of time to wait for three sandwiches and a kids' meal was excessive. The "manager" came over shortly after that, turns out she was also serving that night which still makes me wonder if she is actually a manager? She explained that with the 50% off prices in food, they were really busy, although at this point, many guests had cleared out of the restaurant. I continued to express my displeasure and she mentioned that "the owner" was in the back and she would go talk to him. It still stuns me that the owner didn't feel it was important to come talk to us. She came back and said that the owner would offer us A free dessert. At this point our food started to arrive. We continued to speak with the "manager" agreed to the free dessert to-go because it was clear to me that no one was very concerned at how unhappy we were. As I then began to eat my chicken sandwich, I noticed that the special pretzel roll I had ordered, had been missed but I was so hungry that I just ate it the way it was. The food was average, although my sweet potato fries, that cost extra to order, were cold The "manager" then came over to give us our to-go dessert and our check which came to only $30. She apologized and said, "I hope you'll come back to give us another try. " At which point, I informed her that we definitely would NOT be coming back and I told her, "Good luck staying open another year." Perhaps that was snarky but I was so frustrated by the lack of concern, the below average service and mediocrity when there are TONS of other restaurants around that we clearly should have chosen and will choose in the future.

I don't see what the problem is.... The food was good. The service was great. The atmosphere wasn't too loud. We had a party of 5 and we all agreed that it was worth coming back.

Amazing service & amazing food. If I could give this place 20 stars, I would. It's a very nice atmosphere and the people are very friendly. I recommend this place to everyone.

Very nice family restaurant - this is now in our family rotation of Round Robin, Buffalo Wild Wings, Continental Tavern and a few other local spots. Friendly service and good kids menu. TVs everywhere so good spot for sports.

I was so super excited for The Ground Round to make a come back. Maybe it's because I have great childhood memories of this restaurant. The only thing I've liked about this place were the 2 bartenders. We tried to make this our "regular" place because we live so close but the food isn't very good and it's all kind of mediocre blah. The menu isn't very varied and it gets old quick. The things that made this place charming in the 80's are now gone. I didn't understand the decor choices because the whole place just feels grimy and dated when you go in. I'll just stick with my childhood memories of watching old cartoons on the big movie theater screen while eating helmet sundaes.

Our second visit last night was memorable, but not in a good way. We had gone the first time during the opening weekend and it was OK... so we decided to give it another try. I too remember the Ground Rounds of my youth with the peanut shells on the floor... Oh memories We were seated promptly and greeted by our server (who will remain unnamed for a reason you will soon see). She introduced herself and complemented me on my necklace, a good start. We asked about beers on tap - this is where it started to go downhill. She admitted that she doesn't drink and doesn't even try to keep up with the selections as they change constantly! Ooops, so my husband went to the bar to check it out. We ordered our beers and dinner and enjoyed the complementary popcorn. About 40 minutes later she came back to apologize about the delay in our meals and confirmed our choices, she then returned about 5 minutes later with a print-out of our check and had my husband read it to confirm the choices again. We saw her take this to another employee who we later found out was a manager and discuss something. Another 5 or so minutes pass, she returns again and explains that there was a mix-up in the kitchen and that dessert "was on them". I explained that we didn't intent to have dessert, could they comp part of the meal. She left to ask about this and returned with this explanation: **No they could not do anything else as once something is on the ticket it can't be removed.** I was not happy with this and pushed a little further, she then explained: **The owner was there tonight and he is a real "d-bag". He was not willing to help.** Yes she said to a paying customer that the owner was a d-bag. We asked to speak to the manager. I was not willing to cost her a job so we let the comment slide but did manage to have one of our very dissappointing meals taken off our bill. Suffice to say we won't be returning... Oh memories

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. Awful service. Awful food. I will never go there again. I do not normally like chains, but I went purely for nostaglia. It was a mistake. Everything was bad from the appetizers to the dessert. How do you mess up a burger?

SALT! how much salt can this place add to everything? All four of my kids complained of too much salt. It was terrible and literally ruined every meal we ordered. Who rolls baked postoes in salt??? Seriously! It's been years since we've gone to a ground round and don't plan on ever going back. Terrible. Simply terrible.

We ate here a few weeks a go on Saturday. Our waitress was Helene, she was VERY NICE! We both had hamburgers, they were good as well. The atmosphere was nice, very clean. They rest of the waitstaff was very friendly as well. We will be repeat customers, and ask to be seated in Helene's section. Thank you

I went there once with my 5 year old son. It was good. I see nothing to complain about and nothing that stood out except our service. The server was very nice. I would say to try it out.

Let me first start off by saying that I have not been to Ground Round for about 30 years...since I was a kid and thats when then they closed up around my area. I was excited to see that one opened up at the oxford valley mall and wanted to take my daughter there as I was her age when i went with my family. I was greeted nicely at the door, had exceptional service by Jackie...she is way to great to be serving there I may add and had a horrible experience there after. I took my daugter to the restroom and a cook named Lupe came in afterwards and was about to walk out and not wash her hands, until I looked directly at her and said excuse me, then she immediately went to the sinks. I told Jackie who then offered me to tell the manager, or shoud I say poor excuse for a manager Melissa. Melissa came over and said, well, that is ok as there is an lotion type soap in the kitchen that Lupe usually uses there and that she has the highest kitchen experience here. I said and that is ok with you to let your employee leave a bathroom and not wash their hands and hope they use the kitchen soap???? She said do you want me to talk to her about this, I said YESSSSSS!!! I was not given an apoligy, credit or please let us make it right for you. Furthermore, the owner, George was told what happened in front of me from Melissa, though his back was towards me, he never came over to say anything, why? I was told he feels stupid talking to customers because he has an accent, and that is why he sends his poor excuse, unprofessional, un-remorseful horrible manager Melissa over to "handle it." That is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. Since this is individually owned and there is not a corporate number to contact to voice a complaint or concern, stay clear as you may get some funky disease that will make you very sick as they do not seem to care or be concerned over their disease control by proper handwashing...who knows maybe their other means of cleaning or sanitizing is not up to par either. Please take this as a warning, eat at your own risk...just trying to protect you and your loved ones as the higher up there, do not seem to care. I did send an email to the contact us area at the website and contacted the local health department also as I feel that they have the right to know. Another tidbit of information, upon leaving, another server said thank you for speaking up as this is not the first time this has happened, it happens all the time. Please not this location's owner also owns the IHOP in the same area...DINERS BEWARE! Please no hate replies as I will not reply to you, I am simply trying to keep other diners safe. It is a shame as the menu and food looked good...what a waste!

Growing up in Buffalo NY I spent many a Monday night watching football and eating some of the best chicken wings around at the GR at what was then the Seneca Mall. Free popcorn and peanuts too. Then on to Syracuse Univ where the GR in Fayetteville was a favorite. Fast forward to 2012 and the new GR is here in Langhorne! I was psyched but am now SO disappointed. The free popcorn is back (Yes!) but the chicken wings were just terrible. They were pre-cooked and kept warm, not cooked to order. If they don't change they will fail....again, which would be a shame.

First time here. Had a very good inferno burger. Wife had a chicken pasta dish with Alfredo sauce which was ok. Service was very good but place was not very crowded. Overall it was good, similar to Red Robin or TGIF.

I went here b/c I had fond memories o the place from growing up in NY. BIG MISTAKE! I'll neve3r go back. It took the waiter 7.5 minutes just to come take our drink order then he comes back 9 minutes later with them and ask for our entree order which he only took half of the tables then the food took about 20 minutes to get to the table by that point it was cold and hard or soggy, but it only took him about 20 seconds to take my credit card. I gave him a 1% tip and that was over tipping him! On the way out I heard him complain about it to another waitress ... as a customer in a restaurant I am your employer you want me to pay you do the work! oh and I was there on an unbusy Thursday night. If I could give 0 or negative reviews I would !

My 1/2 rack of ribs was succulent; I would give those 5 stars. However, since this review is based on the entire visit... Two stars: Service was slow even though there seemed to be plenty of waitstaff and not many diners. Food: Cole slaw tasted "watered down". (How hard is it to make tasty cole slaw?) my partner's steak looked lovely with its cross hatched grilled pattern, but, past that, the steak looked and tasted steamed. Maybe they put it in a press to get the crosshatch look and leave it there, where it steams. It did not look like it was cooked on an open grill. Also, it was chewy with a bit of gristle or sinew. Prices: high for lunchtime. Can't imagine what dinner would cost. Bottom line: there are better places to go to get a better steak. And bland, watery cole slaw? C'mon! Shred your cabbage (savoy is tastiest), some carrots, mix in some mayo (and sour cream or plain yogurt, if you like), a splash of white vinegar, celery SEEDS, pepper and salt. Tweak it to taste.

Best lunch for $6.99 including a beverage. Full-sized portions. Choices include entree salads, pasta, sandwiches and burgers. Plus some combination plates such as soup and salad, loaded baked potato with soup or salad and appetizers. Plus FREE popcorn! Served Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Awesome!

I remember Ground Round from back in the lat 1970s and early 1980s. Dark lighting and peanut shells all over the floors. I was surprised (not really) when I stepped in here and the place was completely the opposite from what I remember from when I was a little kids (I was only at the Ground Round in Newark, DE). It was bright and the floor was clean. Instead of peanuts they now had popcorn as a free snack to munch on while waiting for your order. Must because everyone has peanut allergies and it's a lot easier to clean up from the floor than peanut shells. Was in there for lunch during a weekday visit up to that area. The place wasn't crowded at all and plenty of seats available. The food was OK. Nothing special, but was pretty tasty, nonetheless. Waitstaff and nice, polite, and served us promptly.

I end up going here a lot, because my mother loves this place. I am not a huge fan myself to begin with. I like the popcorn and the fact that they have huge drinks, but that is not really enough for me. I've only ordered three things on the menu and haven't been too impressed by any of them. The baked cod has no taste and was a struggle, the chicken tenderloin is just a glorified plate of dry chicken fingers, and the turkey pretzel usually comes out looking a mess and dripping all over before completely falling apart. They have a half price coupon for Monday's dinner service, which is why I keep getting dragged here in the first place, tonight we tried to use the coupon on my phone, which we have done before without an issue, but now it is apparently a problem. Our waitress was great and offered to get her manager. I have so many issues with this man right now, I can't even really handle it. The second that I saw him, I was not happy because I have seen him get an unnecessary attitude with a customer sitting at a table next to me before. He didn't know who he was supposed to come talk to, so he came over to our section and just started loudly asking who called him, which made things kind of uncomfortable. Then he stands behind me and looks over my shoulder at my phone which is understandable, but there was no need to be almost whispering in my ear with his hand on my back... Even more uncomfortable. He tells me next time print the coupon out and walks away. Leaving, my mother, the waitress, and I all pretty confused. The waitress, who is again great, goes to check and see what that actually meant. We ended up getting the discount, but I feel skeeved out and hope we don't go here again anytime soon. They get two stars, for the two things I actually like.

Tuesday night is the burger special night at Ground Round (buy one burger plus two beverages, get one burger on the house). We have enjoyed the burgers here on previous occasions, and decided that this was a more appealing option than cooking during a heat wave! Husband and I wanted to eat light, so we opted for the "smaller appetite" classic burgers (4 oz). Burgers come with one side. I ordered mine rare, with a side Caesar salad, and husband ordered his medium rare, with fries. I learned one thing tonight. Order the regular sized burger! It is impossible to cook the little one rare or even medium rare and the sandwich ends up looking and tasting like a "fast food" sandwich. The interior of husband's burger was more pink than mine, which had no pink. (Why does this happen so often when I order rare and husband orders medium rare???) We knew we were ordering the lighter burgers, but when mine arrived, I had a Clara Peller "Where's the beef?" moment. The little burger was lost on the standard bun! (Nice buns by the way...soft and yeasty...not the cotton batting type!) My side salad was absolutely fine. Fresh crisp romaine, with plenty of parmesan cheese and crunchy croutons. Husband enjoyed his fries. Despite the rant, we still enjoyed our meal - I simply remained wistful for my usual favorite here, the regular-sized classic burger with blue cheese and bacon. Our server was cheerful and attentive. No beef there! And of course the final tab, with the special, made it an economical dinner out.

The good is pretty good. The service can be hit or miss unfortunately. They never seen to be busy but the servers can be fine for extended periods of time and never apologize for not being around.

This is gonna be a long-winded review. So, if you want to avoid the novel that is to follow and just want the basics, it is this: The food is average, the service is good, coupons are our friends and the manager on duty last evening was GREAT! However, if you want details, continue reading. The food at Ground Round (GR) is about average for a national or regional chain restaurant. If I were to base my review strictly on the food alone, I would probably give them 3 stars. However, I awarded them 4 stars because I had an amazing coupon and the manager, as well as my server, were great. Actually, I would say that the manager is PHENOMENAL! While GR isn't on my normal rotation of restaurants, the girlfriend and I decided to revisit the place yesterday and take advantage of their 50% off, Monday night coupon that I received in a Val-Pak mailing. What a deal!!! Everybody pretty much knows that the food at GR is isn't gonna blow your socks off. It is on par with just about every other casual chain restaurant, including the one that is located right next door to this one. However, since I had my aforementioned coupon it made all the difference for this yelper. Upon entering the establishment I was surprised to see how packed this place was. It didn't take long for me to realize that I wasn't the only genius that came here for the 50% off deal. After seating ourselves in the bar area to avoid having to wait for a table in the dining room, I witnessed many others around me talking to their dining companions about said coupon. Our server, Jenny, came to our table, gave us a basket of the saltiest popcorn I think I have ever experienced and took our order. I requested the taco salad and the girlfriend got a mushroom Swiss burger. As we sat and waited for our food to be served I did a bit of people-watching and scanned the bar area. What I noticed is that the place seemed to be understaffed in the waiters/waitresses department. Jenny was busting her ass running all over the place while trying to accommodate all of the guests. I think that they weren't prepared for how many people would come in for their promotion. What I also observed was the manager walking the restaurant, pressing the flesh of his customers and greeting what were obviously his regulars in the bar area. I could tell right away that this guy truly knows customer service. Our food arrived fairly promptly and it was pretty good. Not amazing, but decent. The girlfriend enjoyed her burger, but she noted that the fries were bland and seemed to have been freezer burnt. The taco salad was good and the amount of beef they gave with it impressed me. And this is the point in my meal where things got interesting..... While I sat there eating my salad, I noticed a couple enter into the bar area and sit at a table that had yet to be re-set from the previous diners; the table still had the bill and tip sitting on it. I thought it odd that they would sit at a table that had a few dirty dishes, as well as the previous customer's check still on the table. I observed the couple for a bit of time while the busboys ignored their table. It was obvious to me that the busboys assumed that the couple just finished eating their meal and they were waiting for the customer to leave so that the table could be cleared, cleaned and re-set. Who the hell sits down at a dirty table? After a bit the woman grew agitated that they were being ignored and lashed out at our server. Jenny politely offered for them to sit at an already cleared and clean booth, but the woman just gave an attitude. In short order the manager and busboy were clearing the table and calming the woman down. I must say that the manager did a fantastic job at easing the woman down and in no time he even had her laughing and smiling. Our server at this point was upset. Since I witnessed the whole scene and could clearly see that our server was not at fault, I pulled her aside to let her know that she did nothing wrong and that the woman was a royal b*tch! Jenny quickly got us our bill and we paid utilizing our coupon; two meals for about 10 bucks!!! I felt the need to let the manager know that our server was clearly not at fault for the whole situation that unfolded before my eyes; I would have felt terrible if she got in trouble over this. Upon leaving the restaurant I asked the hostess if I could speak with the manager and she quickly summoned him. Let me say, this guy is amazing! I think this fella is the one of happiest people I have ever met and he obviously knows how to interact with his customers. I don't know how many managers this location has so I wish I would have grabbed his name to give him recognition, but he is a taller guy with an accent. While GR probably won't be on my regular rotation of establishments, I think I will pop in from time to time just because of the excellent customer service. It goes to show you that great customer service can more than make up for average food.

My wife and I stopped in the other day for a late night feast. We were feeling the munchies and stopped in the get some appetizers. The wait staff was friendly. We decided to sit in the bar area. We were helped in just a couple minutes, and greeted with a warm basket of popcorn. It was unexpected and welcomed as we were famished! She took our drink order. We decided to just get the appetizers and share rather than a full dinner. I ordered the boneless wings, and she ordered the chicken quesadilla and soup. I was surprised as to how quickly the food came. The bill was reasonable, and service quick. Overall I couldn't have asked for more. We will definitely be back!

Very good for a chain restaurant. Service was ok. The food was really tasty though and I loved the popcorn--just like the old days. The kids' menu was pretty good too--not that limited. Overall we enjoyed this place. I would recommend.

We've been here several times and the food is good for what it is. Certainly not fine dining but equivalent to Fridays and Applebys. If I can say I have a consistent complaint, it would be the service. We usually go during off hours - just after lunch and just before dinner. Many times the place is virtually empty. The wait staff is nice enough but the don't seen to understand the concept of an appetizer or salad. You get about one or two bites into it and they are bringing out the main course. This happens to us consistently. You also get the occasional server who vanishes for extended periods of time. I don't hate the place. I just wish it was run better.

Haven't been here in 20 years. Wasn't expecting anything great, but I was surprised the of the variety of interesting hamburgers they had on the menu. Certainly recommend it over the array of franchise burger restaurants in the area.

I wasn't expecting anything great, and my expectations were met in that case. I like their idea of a lounge where it's only a certain age and up, but the waiters in that area were extremely over worked. I felt bad for our waitress, who seemed to be going at it alone. We went on a Saturday, but even for a weekend it was crazy busy, and we waited at least half an hour for our food. The food itself was okay, nothing great. Their desserts looked good, but I didn't get the chance to try any. I'll try this place one more time, but they only get one more shot to prove me wrong. Otherwise, I don't see the point of going to a 2.5 star restaurant too often.

My friend and I haven't been to a Ground Round since childhood so we went on pure nostalgia. Honestly, I don't remember the food making me sick to my stomach. My stomach has been turning since I stood up from the booth last night. The only good thing about the meal were our drinks: Southern Hurricane and white sangria. The staff, though friendly, was not very attentive. It was 9pm on a Saturday night and the place was D-E-A-D yet somehow all of the staff were running around like chickens with their heads cut-off: our waitress ran around yelling orders to the bartender, the bartender left the bar completely unattended for a solid 5 minutes, we asked the waitress a few times for water but she never brought it to us because she was so busy with non-existent customers, etc. She even pointed out at to me when I was ordering how full her ticket pad was because it's so busy. If a total of 4 tables in the bar is busy for her then she shouldn't be a waitress. My friend and I walked out of there regretting walking in and leaving the fond memories of the past intact.

Waitress Jenni was quick to get our drinks and place our food order. She repeated the order back to us and kept our drinks full and popcorn . Food came out hot and cooked exactly as ordered. Very nice staff

OVERVIEW: A typical family chain restaurant, no real gimmicks but somewhat of a focus on burgers and lunch specials. Fairly low prices for this type of venue, nothing particularly remarkable, except that their complimentary item is not bread but buttered popcorn. MY MEAL: I had the $6.99 lunch special, mostly big-portioned burgers, sandwiches and salads WITH a drink, so a pretty good deal. I had a Turkey/Bacon/Cheese sandwich on a Pretzel Bun, with homemade Kettle Chips (their specialty). A good sandwich, maybe too meaty (thats a lot coming from me) and the chips were a nice change. You can add a crock of soup for cheap, I went with my favorite French Onion, which was just adequate. Their summer special drink, Blueberry Lemonade was delicious, but did not come with the meal, something I was not told until I ordered the meal unfortunately. Be warned, their drinks are HUGE, like Big Gulp size almost, which is fine for me but Im sure others might take issue. VARIETY/OPTIONS: Meh. Typical family restaurant chain fare. Salads for the vegetarians. Lots of burger choices, but nothing out of the ordinary. VALUE: The food may be standard, but the prices are slightly below what I would expect for this type of place, so a good value overall I'd say. ATMOSPHERE: Slightly-below-meh, if that is a proper rating. It has no real feel to it at all, not even the faux-zaniness of a TGI Fridays. You cant even hear the TVs. But, you wouldnt go to a chain for atmosphere anyway likely. VERDICT: A lifeless atmosphere and lack of anything special are mitigated by the fact that, for standard family restaurant fare you are paying less than the standard price, so good value. An average experience overall, good for when the kids or spouse DEMAND you go out to eat and you dont want to spend too much. If you want anything special, give it a miss.

I came in with a friend Wednesday night for the $2.99 long island ice tea special. We decided to sit at the bar and our bartender was Courtney. Courtney made sure that our drinks stayed filled the entire night and that our order came out right. We will definitely be back!
