Gone here at least ten times. Have never had hibachi we've always sat in the restaurant section. I was there the same time as Sean P and Donna W seated near them. We had the same waiter Tai. I had an issue with my soup manager fixed immediately. I also observed him go over to the table with Donna W. She gave him the run around stating the other girls wanted to complain. They weren't present so the extremely busy manager left. My sushi was fantastic as always. Service was slower than a weeknight however it was a Friday night. Trust a veteran yelper as myself over a couple recent 1 review disgruntled yelpers.

We have been going here for several years now and I have to say that the only thing that keeps us going back is Jerry. Jerry is a server in the tavern part of the restaurant and he's awesome. This time last year we started to get horrible service - messed up orders, cold (hot) tea, and slow service so we stopped going. Then we came back cause of a coupon and Jerry was there and everything was wonderful again. Tonight however we went and had another server and it was horrible. We waited 30 minutes between ordering and receiving our dinner ... and that arrived before our appetizer! The server didn't know the menu and didn't ask us questions that Jerry always asks (like what kind of soy sauce we wanted). Then when we went to pay he took our coupon out of the payment folder and ignored it - when we told him we had a coupon he asked us for it ... even though he had it and had taken it out. So, we will from now on call before going and ask if Jerry is working. If so, we'll come in ... if not ... there are other options with better service in the area.

I went here for hibachi last night, I ordered the filet mignon and chicken, the filet was great, very tender and juicy, but the chicken was somewhat dry. They gave me so little meat too, other places gave me way more so I was not used to the smaller portion. The fried rice was okay, nothing special, but what was surprising was that they charge like $3 for fried rice; this is ridiculous because other places include fried rice with the hibachi. I rather take the fried rice over the miso soup any day for hibachi. ALSO.... I didn't realized ice cream was included in the hibachi, they didn't even let us know; I really thought it was extra until I looked up their menu online....This place is expensive, save your money and go somewhere else.

Love this place, we tried several sushi rolls and the tuna pizza. The tuna pizza was so good!! Everything was fresh. We came here during happy hour and they had an entertainer singing an playing the guitar. Which is great as this is not so common in this area. Also if you eat here multiple times the restaurant has a rewards program!

Light sushi selection. Prices are good for the area. Location is ideal. Venue is clean and inviting. We visited on an "off" Wednesday night, post-storm, so we had no power. The restaurant was empty with patrons, but overloaded with to-go orders. We waited an hour for our sushi due to the to-go order overload. I get it. If I'm sitting there, my order should go first. Just sayin'. We will give it one more chance for better service.

No complaints with the food but the front wait staff is terrible. We made reservations well in advance and still had to wait 35 minutes just to be seated. This is unacceptable, especially with 2 young children under the age of 6. After two inquiries about the wait we were angrily told by the hostess that it is typical to wait at least 30 minutes, even with a reservation. Not too sure what the point of a reservation was. It was another 50 minutes before our chef came out. Thankfully the waiter, Wing, was very friendly and our chef, Marco, was entertaining as well.

I was craving sushi one of the nights while visiting Philadelphia suburbs, and discovered this place on Yelp. With it being the only place around, I circumspectly decided to try with the knowledge of the average three star rating. Upon arrival, the interior decor was unbelievably lavish and perfectly lit with hues of red. It seemed out of place in the suburbs of Philly; its decor resembles an upscale place one would come across in Manhattan New York. Traveling solo, I decided to dine at the bar, after I was pleasantly greeted by the hostess. The bartender's professionalism and her attentiveness was unfortunately the best part of my dining experience. I started with a drink called Arirang Special, which incorporates rum, blue curaçao and pineapple juice. It was quite tasty and at $4, it was definitely gold. Excited about sushi, I ordered the safe bets, the Cucumber Roll ($3.29) and the Rainbow Roll ($9.99), to start with. Typically, this would be just about right for me for a light dinner. When the rolls arrived, I was puzzled and disappointed by both roll sizes. Unbelievably, the Rainbow Roll is typically larger than any cucumber roll, I've consumed anywhere, but not here. The diameter of both rolls was a tad larger than my thumb. The taste did not compensate either; the cucumber roll's seaweed was dry and difficult to chew through and the rainbow roll tasted like mayonnaise and not much else. I finished both and decided to get one more roll, as I was still hungry. I ordered the Sashimi Roll ($11.99); salmon, avocado and masago wrapped with tuna. The service was expedient and the roll arrived in matter of minutes. Again, bland tasting pieces the size of previous rolls. I figured that with the roll wrapped with tuna, it would have been decent size. At this point I was irritated from hunger and lack of taste, and I voiced this to the polite bartender. She fetched the manager without my request. He was professional about the situation and removed the Sashimi roll off my bill. Stubborn and on a mission to be fed, I decided to try something else off of their menu, which includes assortment of hibachi and salads. I decided to try their Calamari Salad with wasabi vinaigrette dressing. It mostly remedied the situation. Not only was it properly sized, it had an assortment of fresh and crispy greens, most of which I can't name. The dressing had a perfect balance of oil and vinaigrette. The calamari was equally splendid, as it was lightly battered and deep fired to light perfection. In summary, the sushi rolls were a disappointment, but the professionalism in which the situation was handled was superb. I will most likely return and try their hibachi and nigiri. I took a peek at other's dishes and they were remarkably well prepared and in proper portions. I will definitely skip the roll selection all together.

Excellent service! Food was fantastic! Go hungry portions are pretty large. I had the hibachi steak and scallops it was great. They have a kids menu and those portions are huge too. They had some live music in the dining area. I never give places a 5 stars but this place deserves it.

No... No... No... NEVER AGAIN Wanted to give it another chance, but this is a definite end to the experiment. Thursday, 6 pm, there were only 2 tables occupied in the sushi area, when we were seated. One would think it would take 15 min at most to get the order for two people. We waited for over half an hour. It's is not a typo! The take-out orders were filled before orders for sitting customers. And, again - other tables were already served; we were the only two people still waiting for our sushi. When it finally did arrive, it was so disappointing: bland, tasteless, flat on texture, and simply unappealing from all perspectives. I won't bore you with the lackluster details. I simply know we will not ever return here again.

The sushi here is absolutely horrible. It tastes like the fish was frozen and thawed. There are some side items that come with the sushi meals and they are not exactly rushing to remind or even ask if you want these items. I ordered the kobe sliders appetizer for my son and they charged an extra $3 which was not listed as an extra charge on the menu. My husband and I went to the hibachi before and they charged extra for fried rice. I just feel like this place nickel and dimes the clientele and provides subpar food.

We come here every year for my sister's birthday (about 4 years now). This year, my sister found a groupon online -- $15 for $30 worth of food. We all purchased it. Upon arrival to our table and review of the menu I noticed that the fried rice is not included in the hibatchi meal, it is $3 extra. I did not remember this before, is it new? If you want the rice that comes with the meal, it is plain white rice that is pre-made in the back -- it will not be cooked on the grill at your table. This was surprising to me, as their hibatchi dinners are quite expensive compared to other hibatchi steakhouses in the area, so for the fried rice to not be included is odd. Kids eat free 3 nights a week. It just so happened that the night we were there was one of those nights. None of us knew this prior to ordering. My nephew, who is 6, was not eating, he had eaten before we came but we thought it'd be fun for him to watch the hibatchi presentation. However, upon seeing a table across from us with noodles, he decided he wanted some, mid-way through the chef cooking our meal. The chef said he would order him noodles and mentioned to us that kids eat free so my nephew would be getting his meal for free. We thought 'great'. Check came at the end of the meal and the waitress charged us $4 for the noodles. We told her that the chef informed us that kids eat free. She explained that my nephew did not order a full meal, and therefore she must charge for the noodles. So she needed him to order MORE food, in order to get the buttered noodles for free? Despite arguing with her, she refused to take it off. Next is the Birthday celebration. If you've been here before, then you've seen the big deal they make when it's your birthday. One of the chef's comes out from the kitchen and sings to you, they flash the lights, have sparklers, take your photo, and deliver you a cake. For my sister's birthday, they stuck a candle in her boyfriend's ice cream and sat it down in front of her. No celebration at all. Was this because we used a groupon, we get the downgraded version? It wasn't as if they stopped doing the big celebrations, as we sat and watched their performance for a birthday at the table across from us. It was very disappointing. The manager came over at the end and asked us how everything was. We made a comment about not getting the big bday celebration for my sister's birthday, and he just looked at us and smiled and walked away. He either did not hear our comment, or pretended not to hear it. We all decided that we will find a new place to celebrate from now on. Per couple, the checks came to $60 (and then $30 after the groupon was reduced). This was for chicken or steak hibatchi dinners, with fried rice, and drinks (non-alcoholic).

Tried about 30 different restaurants and found this to be my favorite place. It is on the pricey side but you pay for what you get and it is totally worth it. I can't wait to go back to area in about one month to eat there again. The place is very clean and service is great.

Saw an heard a lot of mixed reviews about this place and was a bit skeptical about dining here. I have to say the food was great, perfect portion sizes contrary to other reviews we saw. Service was quick and very friendly. Kobe beef sliders were great and the three rolls were a good size. Beautiful atmosphere. We will be back.

Exceptional quality food, atmosphere and service. Although the hibachi cooking "show" was pretty standard it's a great value overall. I enjoyed steak and lobster, my wife had scallops. Both were perfectly cooked hibachi style with fresh vegetables in front of us and each meal included tasty soup, salad, rice, and ice cream. The freshness and quality of everything was impressive. We'll be back - especially on Friday nights when they have a great guitar player in the lounge

I visited Arirang yesterday and overall, I was perplexed. Our reservation for a relatively large group (12) was set for 5:15, yet there we waited for another half hour until we were even seated. It seemed to me that their wait staff was unable to handle a group of our size even though hibachi is generally considered a group activity. All of our drinks and appetizers came out sporadically, usually with all but one person receiving their item at once and the last person having to wait another 5 minutes for the server to show up again. The food was great, however. I ordered the chicken yaki soba and all aspects of the meal were delicious. Our hibachi chef was entertaining with the typical hibachi antics but not too theatrical so as to distract you from your meal. I almost died when I saw the bill. $77 for two! It seems like everything costs extra at this place; the extra charge for fried rice is completely ludicrous and nearly 10 dollars a glass for cheap house wine and bottom shelf sangria really add up. I would get Arirang if I was able to get it to go, but otherwise I won't be back.

Went there on a Tuesday night with friends and 3 kids amongst us. The service was very good. Everyone was friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. However, the food was really salty, especially the fried rice. Despite that though, a good time was had by my almost 3 year old, so I can't complain. Oh, and kids ate for free, so that was nice too! (I think it's only on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights that kids eat for free - call restaurant to confirm this tho.)

We've been here thrice for Hibachi dinner. The Hibachi experience is interactive and funny like all other places. Most of the wait staff and chefs are friendly and the Hibachi is ok. In the grand scheme of things, we can't find anything in particular that would set this place a cut above the rest of the Americanized Hibachi places that are scattered around the tri-state area. Oh and before we forget, they have a signature tradition of celebrating birthdays. For the mothers celebrating their birthdays here, they hold the woman's hands up in the air and sway from side to side singing "Mamasan it's your birthday!!". Now if you who are a bit familiar with Japanese culture, you would concur that the word "Mamasan" is considered derogatory because it's used in context with the woman running geisha houses. The correct word would be "Okasan" but it appears that the chain hasn't done its home work and continues to commit this faux pas everyday lol.

We've been here a few times but our visit today was excellent. We knew ahead of time that making a reservation on Open Table is only basically call ahead seating. However, going on a Thursday, it wasn't at all crowded and we were seated immediately. The sever was excellent, very personable and attentive. The chef was great as well, food tasted good and we got a lot!! We were celebrating my son's birthday and when we mentioned it, they did disclose that for $15 we could order a cake. It was a very good ice cream cake and worth it for us. While the food has always been good, sometimes service or staff was lacking when we went at a "peak" time (Friday or Saturday) so I'd recommend going off-peak for a great experience.

Sushi was super fresh - delicious. Only lose a star from me b/c I made a reservation via Open Table and they treated it like a "call ahead." So, when we all arrived at the restaurant they told me we would be seated within a 1/2 hour. Reservations should not be treated the same as "call a heads." Otherwise, everything was fantastic.

I have not actually had their hibachi, just have eaten in their sushi dining room. The sushi is decent, what you would generally expect at a place like this. Their fried rice is really good though - they add sake to it when cooking which makes the rice a little sweet, a nice contrast to the salty, savoryness of the soy sauce.

This place was nice. I'd eat here again. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The ambiance is nice and the restaurant is very beautiful The food is okay, it's not the best hibachi I ever had but its nowhere near the worst. My con was that it was a little salty; I would've liked to taste the herbs and veggies in the food more. They did have a really great ginger dipping sauce and the soup/salad taste very good. I opted for the green tea ice cream and it had a nice taste. The chef was really nice too. I was a little sad b/c we told them it was my b-day and I didn't get any special complimentary item from the restaurant. (not that it's a must, but it would've been nice) They do get 5 starts for my strawberry virgin daiquiri. It was delicious!!! I almost drank the cup, and the presentation of the drink was reeeally nice.

This review is based in a combination of food and service. The prices here can be a little bit higher than cheaper places as my wife and I spent about $71 before tip for dinner w/appetizer and a drink each. The food was fantastic. Everything was so tasty and Mark our Chef was so much fun. He made the night with his jokes, his free saki squirts and tricks. I would recommend as my wide and I are avid habachi fans and this one of our new favorites.

Update to my original: I really wanted to like this place, but I just can't! The sushi was still subpar and way overpriced; it didn't have much in the way of flavor and was really just blah. The service is obnoxiously slow (think 15 minutes for drinks), the place is the loudest restaurant I've ever been in, and perhaps the most bothersome part of the entire meal was being sat next to the birthday gong which rang at least 10 times during our meal. A hibachi meal for three took almost two hours from start to finish, which is ridiculous. We gave it a shot a second time and were sorely disappointed again. Arirang, you fail yet again.

This place has the best happy hour in Langhorne. I have never sat in the hibachi area. I'll just go for the happy hour and sit at the bar. They have awesome cheap drink specials and some really nice small rolls etc for $3-5. You really can't beat it. The bartender Bob is one of the most friendly bartenders I've ever had. Their rolls are very fresh and the food is high quality.

Salty-rang anyone? A good friend of mine, and fellow Yelper, warned me to avoid Arirang. I always listen to her recommendations, but after being constantly told by a co-worker how "amazing" it is, I decided to give it a shot. I went at 7:30 on a Saturday with three other people and we were seated right away, which was great. My group of 4 decided to order 2 chicken & steak combos and pay the $4.25 share charge for each entree. We were all disappointed to see that both noddles and fried rice were an upcharge. We each ordered a side noddles for $2.99, but decided to pass on the fried rice. While we waited for our chef we ate our soup and salad. I didn't care too much for the soup, but the salad with ginger dressing was enjoyable. Once our chef came out he made the noddles first. My group were the only ones at the table to order noddles. We all ate them and, BAM! , hello salt! After just one bite we all looked at each other and you could tell we were all thinking the same thing. The rest of the meal was just as disappointing and salty, with a slight exception for the veggies. I've never been one to complain about salt, but WOW! This was disgusting! I also should mention how the chicken was so dry it was almost hard to chew and the slices of steak were extremely fatty, although the chef did cut off a lot of it. I have no desire to go there again. It was very overpriced, especially for the quality of the food. We actually had to go and get Shamrock shakes after the meal to get the taste of salt out of our mouths.

Ugh. I met two of my wonderful friends here. I wanted to go to Tijuana Flats but they both informed me they don't like Mexican (how is that POSSIBLE??) but they'd both been to Arirang before and loved it so we went here. I'm always up for Asian so I was excited since there were two raves. First of all, the atmosphere was really nice. Dark woods, lots of reds, bamboo shoots. I liked that a lot. However, the food? Not so much. I started with the traditional soup of broth, mushrooms and onions. It was very good. Loaded with mushrooms, not too salty, a classic that's hard to screw up. Next, we split the rock shrimp tempura. It was all right ... not very spicy and not NEARLY as good as the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill. I don't usually compare dishes but they're trying to do the exact same thing and Arirang just didn't pull it off. The batter was falling off, the sauce was tangy but not flavorful. Just, not a good effort. For dinner I had a shrimp tempura roll and an exotic roll (peppered tuna and avocado with spicy tuna and tempura flakes on top). Sounds awesome, right? No. The peppered tuna was just ... off. I've had peppered tuna before and it's been amazing but this one just wasn't flavorful. The spicy tuna had a whipped consistency, not chunky at all. It just wasn't good. The shrimp tempura roll was all right but again, it's a classic that's hard to screw up. I would perhaps go here again and try the hibachi or one of the entrees but I would steer clear of sushi. With so many other options in the area this place needs to pick it up.

My SO and I have been to this Arirang location about a dozen times. We've almost always had good service and chefs. Two particular favorites of ours are Leah (the only female chef I've seen at any hibachi place) and Mark ("too much sake!"). I definitely recommend requesting Mark if you're looking for an entertaining evening - he's a crazy and lovable chef, and truly unforgettable. Speaking of unforgettable, let's talk about their fried cheesecake. Oh. My. God. It is, hands down, one of the best desserts I've ever had. It's an entire slice of cheesecake fried in tempura batter. The crispy outside is nice and warm, and the cheesecake inside is still cool and creamy. Every time I go there I end up talking about it with our fellow table members, and without fail at least two or three other people order it. (The place should give me a referral fee!) As for the food itself, it is quite good. I do wish the fried rice was included in the standard hibachi price, and not extra, which is one of the reasons why I can't give the place five stars. That said, the fried rice is delicious. The ginger salad dressing is really tasty, and I'm not really a fan of ginger, so that's saying a lot. I haven't tried the other dressing, but I've often heard others complimenting that as well. The soup is good - no better or worse than what most hibachi places offer. Overall, my SO and I enjoy coming out to Arirang for special occasions, and I really love going there for dessert. It's a little pricey, but we are signed up for their frequent diners card, so we typically get coupons that make it more affordable.

The first time I ate at Arirang was for Hibachi --- and I haven't been back until last week, with a Groupon. I'm not sure what that says about Arirang - except maybe that there are so many great places around for sushi, that you've really got to be exceptional to keep folks coming back exclusively. I'm not quite sure they have it. My friends and I opted for the Intrepid Boat. That was the plan when we agreed to buy the Groupon. Give us that Boat. ...only when we ordered said 'boat' -- it came out on a large white plate. FAIL, d****t! The Boat is part of the whole silly experience of ordering a giant pile of sushi & sashimi. The offense of our order arriving sans-boat aside, the Intrepid consisted of 5 rolls, 14 pieces sushi, 21 pieces of sashimi with soup and salad for 3 people. There were 4 of us. Our waiter was pretty cool to offer just throwing another set of soup & salad our way -- but we were fine, as one in our group isn't so big on either. I couldn't quite identify the rolls that we were given -- they were decent, but nothing disappeared any faster off the plate than anything else. It was all very fresh, as was the miso soup (the salad was fresh, but their ginger dressing was a little bland.) Their red bean ice cream is probably the best in the area -- which scores them many points in the book of one of our diners. In the end, Arirang is definitely a cool place - the atmosphere is different. The place is BIG. They advertise that they are a Modern Asian Tavern - which apparently means that having a country band perform there on a Friday night is okay... it just has that mass produced chain sort of feel that kind of pales in comparison to places where you've gotta take off your shoes and slide into a private room with a low table. If you want to indulge - absolutely grab the next Groupon (I've seen it pop up a few times since we bought ours!) pick up your chopsticks and dig in. If you'd like to supply your own bottle of wine and slide across the floor in your socks - head to Tako on Galloway Road!

I've had both Arirang's hibachi and sushi dinner, and although they're two very different experiences, neither have disappointed. Their food melts in your mouth and everything is freshly prepared, yet one would certainly expect top-notch flavors, because Arirang's prices can empty a person's pockets out. Two helpings of salad, one Rock Shrimp appetizer, and a sushi/sashimi platter down and my check was roughly $45. I only had to pay $10, since I had a groupon for $35 off, but would a broke college-grad like myself ever go there without said groupon? As much as I'd like to, I just don't see it happening more than twice a year. Yet, if I did decide to splurge, Arirang would leave me well-satisfied, since their service, ambiance, and food all make for a great experience. Second time here after a day at sesame place and the second good experience we've had. The restaurant sears you promptly and the staff is friendly and serves you quickly. The chefs here are some of the most entertaining that I have had in 25 years if enjoying Japanese hibachi cooking. All the food is fresh and good including the sushi. The food is very good here-the Exotic Roll is amazing and the Tuna Pizza a solid winner. The Hibachi section is only fair, but still a nice option-but this place has a huge footprint-they are a great bar, with tasty well made exotic drinks, a sushi place with great "rolls", a dinner spot with menu or hibachi options, and now have live music on Fridays...very impressive. The music is great, the food too, and I hope this place stays around and prospers for a long, long time.

Horrible experience and we didn't even get a table! Decided to go for dinner with a group of 4 adults and some kids. When 2 of us walked in with a 5 year old and a 4 week old baby we were told that we could not be seated until the rest of our party had arrived. We stated that we'd like to order some sushi while we waited. They told us that we had to go sit in the bar. We had children with us so the bar was not the place for us. Well they had a couple booth tables in the bar area so we sat there and ordered some sushi while we waited. About 20 minutes into our waiting period the hostess comes up to us and asks if the rest of our party had arrived, when we said they would be there in a couple minutes they told us there was now a 45 minute wait and we couldn't be out on the list until the entire party had arrived! It's one thing to not seat people until the entire party arrives but to not put us on the list when we had an infant with us is just ridiculous!

The first time I was here back last year, we used a $15 for $30 groupon for sushi. Since the deal is decent and the food is okay, I bought the deal again. Again, we ordered 4 special rolls, ate, and gave the groupon to our waiter when he arrived. However, he informed us that the deal was only for entrees and not sushi. It does say so on the fine print, so there was nothing I can really argue with. This was a disappointment since the groupon was valid for sushi last time. The bill came out to be a little over $50 and almost $60 including tips. I would have been okay paying that price, but the special rolls were the size of a regular roll anywhere else. The rice was a bit bland and everything was just mediocre. I would say the waiter was speedy and attentive, but everything else was just meh.

I went here on a Monday night with my husband and our friend. Since we went here on a recommendation, we had high expectations. Worried that it might be busy, we called ahead. I was told they did not take reservations but had 'call ahead seating' so I gave our name and asked for the 7:00 time slot. We got there at 6:45 and were told it was a 35 minute wait. We sat at the bar for a while; there was only one tender but clearly they needed two. We were seated around 7:20. We were seated at a full table with two other parties. I noticed an abundance of kids around -- then realized it was a kids eat free night. Looking at the menu prices, I soon realized how they could afford to feed kids for free. Menu prices are 25-40% higher than the hibachi competition--so for a kid-free party like ours, it was no deal. The food itself was decent, but the dinner was timed horribly. After two hours we were served drinks and salads, then finally our appetizer. Our entire table finally asked to speak to the manager and issued a complaint. Ten minutes later our chef came out and gave a good performance, but he seemed a bit stressed and overworked--as did all of the staff. Clearly they did not have enough people working there. In total, we were at the restaurant for four hours. That is an unacceptable time frame, especially with 'call ahead seating.' The manager and staff at last did issue an apology after we pointed out that another table that was seated after us happened to be eating before we even had salads. This place only earns a second star because the staff realized that they screwed up. While they didn't actually take responsibility (just offered 'we're busy' excuses), they did at least apologize and comp half the meal for each table. I did like that there is a salad dressing choice (lemon or creamy ginger). Didn't like that you have to pay extra for fried rice, which should be a hibachi staple. It was nice that the meal included soup, white rice (though...they forgot to serve mine), and ice cream dessert. Food quality was good--no real complaints except my friend said that the tempura on his sushi dish was so overwhelming he tasted nothing else. If you don't have kids, it's kind of pointless to go here on a kids eat free night because the place is jam-packed with families and you won't get a table. When you finally do get one, you're stuck at a table with some whiny five-year-olds that have had to wait several hours more than expected for a dinner. Chef was friendly with the kids; staff were generally nice--just altogether clueless. I like that the chef actually asked if anyone at the table had allergies instead of just tossing shrimp into people's mouths. Not worth the money, especially if you are traveling from Philly or Jersey. In Philly: Try "Hibachi" on Columbus Blvd near Dave & Buster's. In Jersey: Try Yama in Lumberton. No hibachi tables, but friendly, fast service.

I ended up in this place 'cuz they had a $50 off at groupon.com . Around 5:30pm on a Monday, we didn't experince the long wait time to get seated and to get our food. When you get in, left is the private dining, right is hibachi, and middle is the bar area (where the loud music is at). I only tried the private dining and the service is great!! We had sushi/sashimi + crab cake + flounder were good. Should be a 5 star because I had $50 off + no waiting. But price is up there and definitely not on my top 10 list for sushi. That's why it's a 4. I still have another $50 off, I'll try the hibachi.

Stopped by on a Friday night with no wait. Service was really good... the hostess was so sweet and our waitress was always smiling, which in today's environment, was refreshing. We even had a visit from the Manager. We ordered the special for an appetizer... some cooked chicken dish that you wrap in lettuce...the name escapes me. There was so much of it, I didn't think I'd be able to eat dinner. Ordered a typical sushi dinner and husband ordered a cooked butterfly shrimp dish. He was iffy on his as it was cooked with some coconut infused sauce...different, but ok. Mine was typical sushi...nothing special...but the sashimi (without rice) was really good. Their tuna was very fresh and pink. Overall, I would come here again, but not over some of the other sushi places I've been to (Sakura in Bensalem and Sagami in Collingswood, NJ). Also, ate in the "tavern" side as the Hibachi side was really noisy. Don't recommend the other side unless you are with a group.

This Arirang location is the 5th in an eighteen year time span and they claim to be the #1. Steakhouse and Sushi Bar. I disagree. It is three weeks old and it is a beautiful building, inside and out. A-1 Japanese Steakhouse is a hop, skip and a jump away from them and two stars better. We were heading to Millers Langhorne Alehouse and because of the Eagles game in the playoffs, all tables were taken and folks were standing around waiting to slip in to any vacant spots, so we gave up and noticed this new restaurant across the street. I can honestly say, that I normally have a wonderful experience, anytime I try Hibachi and Sushi, but, I left very un-impressed. We had ordered and received our cocktails and had pre ordered our appetizers of shrimp dumplings, California roll, shrimp & veggie tempura and a Philly roll of smoked salmon and cream cheese. Only one other Hibachi grill had been seated and five of them had left. They asked us if we would mind moving to the first table and we thought, well, won't we look like an ass if we don't, so we smiled and said sure, no problem! They have eight large, double hibachi tables and each holds eighteen seats or nine at each single grill. They have a separate bar area with tables for folks that want sushi alone or to order off the menu. The menu will blow your mind. So many choices for sushi, appetizers, combo's, entrees, salads, soups and Hibachi combinations. It is so extensive, but they do not execute what you have ordered very well. It was the worst shrimp fried rice I have ever had. Nothing was Hot! The shrimp was half cooked and some of you may have loved this, but no one at our table did. The vegetables were served almost raw and he threw half of it away and never added the mushrooms and was upset when I asked why not and turned them on the grill once. Their skills are the worst I have ever seen for entertaining the guests, he dropped every egg and he knew he did and dug out the shells. For our entrees I had filet and shrimp and my hubby had sirloin. I had mine medium rare and he had his rare. Those just kissed the grill and his was okay and mine shall be cooked more tomorrow! Needless to say, we left over $100.00 poorer and we were not at all thrilled! Airang, you are not #1 and maybe a bit confused since Arirang means beautiful deer in Korean and Hibachi is Japanese.

Where to start, well at 7:30 on a friday night we got seated right away. That was good for us, usually restaurants are at least a 10 minute wait on a friday night, a little revealing. Sat down at the hibachi and started looking at the vast menu. I was really surprised they charged extra for fried rice. Saw the rock shrimp appetizer, a weakness, so I ordered that. Never would order that again. It was swimming in the sauce, not just a coating but enough sauce for 2 additional orders. For some reason there were unattached fried shrimp tails in with the shrimp that I had to pick out to avoid eating. I asked the waiter if this is normal, to which he replied yes. They didn't do a good job of peeling the so called rock shrimp, the batter should be crunchy not the shrimp. I was questioning whether they served me rock shrimp and not just regular u-20s. The first round of drinks were perfect, I had gotten a mai tai that tasted just right. The second one was a whole different story, it was so strong, I wasn't quite sure if they even added the juice to it. The main course tasted good, wasn't anything special, nothing that would make me go back there over the A1 japanese steak house down the street. The food at A1 is better, there's no upcharge for fried rice, and the tapenyaki chefs are more entertaining.

Sat in the regular dining area with a friend, ordered the Miso Sea Bass. I think the fish was the size of a 2 year olds hand. Hello I'm paying 20 bucks for how much food? Oh okay, I thought so.... Dining in for 2 people our bill came out to be way more expensive than we expected. I rather go waste my money on something that's worth it. When you dine in the hibachi, like all places they like to fill up the table before they start grilling your food. BUT Arirang holds back a bit...they keep asking you if you want drinks or appetizers as if they want you to buy their shit and not serve you the food that you intended to come for. They also charge you for fried rice...it's not included....and the prices are not that great. Don't waste your time here. There's an A1 if you want hibatchi and for those of you that think their sushi is fantastic, you can go to the mall and get the same quality.

Consistently good and well-rounded. From traditional hibachi to innovative, contemporary Japanese cuisine, I have yet to have a clunker of a meal at Arirang. And for a small, regional chain the look of the place is absolutely beautiful. My friend and I skipped the hibachi tables to eat in the tavern and loved it. Simple Japanese bar menu with some really cool menu selections. I ordered Shrimp Udon in a creamy, coconut broth that was filled with shrimp with salad and soup to boot. More than fair price, for a great meal. Definitely try it.

My family loves it here. Great for kids -- interactive and not quiet. Also, they have GLUTEN FREE soy sauce and were very accomadating for my food allergies. My food allergies are not severe, but we called ahead and they had gluten free soy sauce ready for me and the chef cooked all my food (even separated the fried rice) for me. I went to this restaurant with my friend on a Sunday night and got seated at a hibatchi table immediately. The hibatchi selection is a little slim, but covers the basics-steak, chicken, fish, seafood. The chef was very talented and entertaining, and very funny. We had a great time! I liked that they made sure of any food allergies before cooking, and the prices were pretty standard compared to the other hibatchi restaurants I've been to in this area. Didn't get a chance to taste the sushi (the waiter forgot to bring out our appetizer, but that's ok, he was extremely busy!) but the hibatchi cooked portion was very good...not as good as Mt. Fuji, but still good. Also the hibatchi dinner included a lot of food--soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, white rice, your main meal, and then ice cream for dessert. *Hint* The green tea ice cream is soo good! You definitely won't leave hungry. I think this would be a great place to bring a handful of friends or have a party since the tables seat so many people and the chefs like for you to participate and have fun.

Nice decor, nice atmosphere, very slow service, way overpriced, small portions. There were three of us, one order of sushi, a seafood dish in broth, and a pasta dish with a side of fried rice. The sushi rolls were tiny, the seafood dish was MAYBE a 1.5 cups of seafood for $22.00, and $1.75 for 3 pieces of shrimp added to a small bowl of fried rice. It was tasty, but definitely a poor value. The server was slow, and seemed to be taking his time hoping we would drink more. Anything we needed I had to flag down the server instead of him occasionally checking on us. Easy to find other better places.

I was craving sushi one of the nights while visiting Philadelphia suburbs, and discovered this place on Yelp. With it being the only place around, I circumspectly decided to try with the knowledge of the average three star rating. Upon arrival, the interior decor was unbelievably lavish and perfectly lit with hues of red. It seemed out of place in the suburbs of Philly; its decor resembles an upscale place one would come across in Manhattan New York. Traveling solo, I decided to dine at the bar, after I was pleasantly greeted by the hostess. The bartender's professionalism and her attentiveness was unfortunately the best part of my dining experience. I started with a drink called Arirang Special, which incorporates rum, blue curaçao and pineapple juice. It was quite tasty and at $4, it was definitely gold. Excited about sushi, I ordered the safe bets, the Cucumber Roll ($3.29) and the Rainbow Roll ($9.99), to start with. Typically, this would be just about right for me for a light dinner. When the rolls arrived, I was puzzled and disappointed by both roll sizes. Unbelievably, the Rainbow Roll is typically larger than any cucumber roll, I've consumed anywhere, but not here. The diameter of both rolls was a tad larger than my thumb. The taste did not compensate either; the cucumber roll's seaweed was dry and difficult to chew through and the rainbow roll tasted like mayonnaise and not much else. I finished both and decided to get one more roll, as I was still hungry. I ordered the Sashimi Roll ($11.99); salmon, avocado and masago wrapped with tuna. The service was expedient and the roll arrived in matter of minutes. Again, bland tasting pieces the size of previous rolls. I figured that with the roll wrapped with tuna, it would have been decent size. At this point I was irritated from hunger and lack of taste, and I voiced this to the polite bartender. She fetched the manager without my request. He was professional about the situation and removed the Sashimi roll off my bill. Stubborn and on a mission to be fed, I decided to try something else off of their menu, which includes assortment of hibachi and salads. I decided to try their Calamari Salad with wasabi vinaigrette dressing. It mostly remedied the situation. Not only was it properly sized, it had an assortment of fresh and crispy greens, most of which I can't name. The dressing had a perfect balance of oil and vinaigrette. The calamari was equally splendid, as it was lightly battered and deep fired to light perfection. In summary, the sushi rolls were a disappointment, but the professionalism in which the situation was handled was superb. I will most likely return and try their hibachi and nigiri. I took a peek at other's dishes and they were remarkably well prepared and in proper portions. I will definitely skip the roll selection all together.

I visited Arirang yesterday and overall, I was perplexed. Our reservation for a relatively large group (12) was set for 5:15, yet there we waited for another half hour until we were even seated. It seemed to me that their wait staff was unable to handle a group of our size even though hibachi is generally considered a group activity. All of our drinks and appetizers came out sporadically, usually with all but one person receiving their item at once and the last person having to wait another 5 minutes for the server to show up again. The food was great, however. I ordered the chicken yaki soba and all aspects of the meal were delicious. Our hibachi chef was entertaining with the typical hibachi antics but not too theatrical so as to distract you from your meal. I almost died when I saw the bill. $77 for two! It seems like everything costs extra at this place; the extra charge for fried rice is completely ludicrous and nearly 10 dollars a glass for cheap house wine and bottom shelf sangria really add up. I would get Arirang if I was able to get it to go, but otherwise I won't be back.

Went there on a Tuesday night with friends and 3 kids amongst us. The service was very good. Everyone was friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. However, the food was really salty, especially the fried rice. Despite that though, a good time was had by my almost 3 year old, so I can't complain. Oh, and kids ate for free, so that was nice too! We've been here thrice for Hibachi dinner. The Hibachi experience is interactive and funny like all other places. Most of the wait staff and chefs are friendly and the Hibachi is ok. In the grand scheme of things, we can't find anything in particular that would set this place a cut above the rest of the Americanized Hibachi places that are scattered around the tri-state area. Oh and before we forget, they have a signature tradition of celebrating birthdays. For the mothers celebrating their birthdays here, they hold the woman's hands up in the air and sway from side to side singing "Mamasan it's your birthday!!". Now if you who are a bit familiar with Japanese culture, you would concur that the word "Mamasan" is considered derogatory because it's used in context with the woman running geisha houses. The correct word would be "Okasan" but it appears that the chain hasn't done its home work and continues to commit this faux pas everyday lol.

We've been here a few times but our visit today was excellent. We knew ahead of time that making a reservation on Open Table is only basically call ahead seating. However, going on a Thursday, it wasn't at all crowded and we were seated immediately. The sever was excellent, very personable and attentive. The chef was great as well, food tasted good and we got a lot!! We were celebrating my son's birthday and when we mentioned it, they did disclose that for $15 we could order a cake. It was a very good ice cream cake and worth it for us. While the food has always been good, sometimes service or staff was lacking when we went at a "peak" time (Friday or Saturday) so I'd recommend going off-peak for a great experience.

Gone here at least ten times. Have never had hibachi we've always sat in the restaurant section. I was there the same time as Sean P and Donna W seated near them. We had the same waiter Tai. I had an issue with my soup manager fixed immediately. I also observed him go over to the table with Donna W. She gave him the run around stating the other girls wanted to complain. They weren't present so the extremely busy manager left. My sushi was fantastic as always. Service was slower than a weeknight however it was a Friday night. Trust a veteran yelper as myself over a couple recent 1 review disgruntled yelpers.

We have been going here for several years now and I have to say that the only thing that keeps us going back is Jerry. Jerry is a server in the tavern part of the restaurant and he's awesome. This time last year we started to get horrible service - messed up orders, cold (hot) tea, and slow service so we stopped going. Then we came back cause of a coupon and Jerry was there and everything was wonderful again. Tonight however we went and had another server and it was horrible. We waited 30 minutes between ordering and receiving our dinner ... and that arrived before our appetizer! The server didn't know the menu and didn't ask us questions that Jerry always asks (like what kind of soy sauce we wanted). Then when we went to pay he took our coupon out of the payment folder and ignored it - when we told him we had a coupon he asked us for it ... even though he had it and had taken it out. So, we will from now on call before going and ask if Jerry is working. If so, we'll come in ... if not ... there are other options with better service in the area.

I went here for hibachi last night, I ordered the filet mignon and chicken, the filet was great, very tender and juicy, but the chicken was somewhat dry. They gave me so little meat too, other places gave me way more so I was not used to the smaller portion. The fried rice was okay, nothing special, but what was surprising was that they charge like $3 for fried rice; this is ridiculous because other places include fried rice with the hibachi. I rather take the fried rice over the miso soup any day for hibachi. ALSO.... I didn't realized ice cream was included in the hibachi, they didn't even let us know; I really thought it was extra until I looked up their menu online....This place is expensive, save your money and go somewhere else.

This is unacceptable, especially with 2 young children under the age of 6. After two inquiries about the wait we were angrily told by the hostess that it is typical to wait at least 30 minutes, even with a reservation. Not too sure what the point of a reservation was. It was another 50 minutes before our chef came out. Thankfully the waiter, Wing, was very friendly and our chef, Marco, was entertaining as well.

I've had both Arirang's hibachi and sushi dinner, and although they're two very different experiences, neither have disappointed. Their food melts in your mouth and everything is freshly prepared, yet one would certainly expect top-notch flavors, because Arirang's prices can empty a person's pockets out. Two helpings of salad, one Rock Shrimp appetizer, and a sushi/sashimi platter down and my check was roughly $45. I only had to pay $10, since I had a groupon for $35 off, but would a broke college-grad like myself ever go there without said groupon? As much as I'd like to, I just don't see it happening more than twice a year. Yet, if I did decide to splurge, Arirang would leave me well-satisfied, since their service, ambiance, and food all make for a great experience. If I were you, however, I'd call ahead to avoid a wait. My Favorites: (Keep in mind, I've only been here twice) - Rock Shrimp Appetizer - Fillet Minion or Salmon Hibachi

Their fried rice is really good though - they add sake to it when cooking which makes the rice a little sweet, a nice contrast to the salty, savoryness of the soy sauce.

Second time here after a day at sesame place and the second good experience we've had. The restaurant sears you promptly and the staff is friendly and serves you quickly. Salty-rang anyone? A good friend of mine, and fellow Yelper, warned me to avoid Arirang. I always listen to her recommendations, but after being constantly told by a co-worker how "amazing" it is, I decided to give it a shot. I went at 7:30 on a Saturday with three other people and we were seated right away, which was great. My group of 4 decided to order 2 chicken & steak combos and pay the $4.25 share charge for each entree. We were all disappointed to see that both noddles and fried rice were an upcharge. We each ordered a side noddles for $2.99, but decided to pass on the fried rice. While we waited for our chef we ate our soup and salad. I didn't care too much for the soup, but the salad with ginger dressing was enjoyable. Once our chef came out he made the noddles first. My group were the only ones at the table to order noddles. We all ate them and, BAM! , hello salt! After just one bite we all looked at each other and you could tell we were all thinking the same thing. The rest of the meal was just as disappointing and salty, with a slight exception for the veggies. I've never been one to complain about salt, but WOW! This was disgusting! I also should mention how the chicken was so dry it was almost hard to chew and the slices of steak were extremely fatty, although the chef did cut off a lot of it. I have no desire to go there again. It was very overpriced, especially for the quality of the food. We actually had to go and get Shamrock shakes after the meal to get the taste of salt out of our mouths.

Horrible experience and we didn't even get a table! Decided to go for dinner with a group of 4 adults and some kids. When 2 of us walked in with a 5 year old and a 4 week old baby we were told that we could not be seated until the rest of our party had arrived. We stated that we'd like to order some sushi while we waited. They told us that we had to go sit in the bar. We had children with us so the bar was not the place for us. Well they had a couple booth tables in the bar area so we sat there and ordered some sushi while we waited. About 20 minutes into our waiting period the hostess comes up to us and asks if the rest of our party had arrived, when we said they would be there in a couple minutes they told us there was now a 45 minute wait and we couldn't be out on the list until the entire party had arrived! It's one thing to not seat people until the entire party arrives but to not put us on the list when we had an infant with us is just ridiculous!

The first time I was here back last year, we used a $15 for $30 groupon for sushi. Since the deal is decent and the food is okay, I bought the deal again. Again, we ordered 4 special rolls, ate, and gave the groupon to our waiter when he arrived. However, he informed us that the deal was only for entrees and not sushi. It does say so on the fine print, so there was nothing I can really argue with. This was a disappointment since the groupon was valid for sushi last time. The bill came out to be a little over $50 and almost $60 including tips. I would have been okay paying that price, but the special rolls were the size of a regular roll anywhere else. The rice was a bit bland and everything was just mediocre. I would say the waiter was speedy and attentive, but everything else was just meh.

I ended up in this place 'cuz they had a $50 off at groupon.com . Around 5:30pm on a Monday, we didn't experince the long wait time to get seated and to get our food. When you get in, left is the private dining, right is hibachi, and middle is the bar area (where the loud music is at). I only tried the private dining and the service is great!! We had sushi/sashimi + crab cake + flounder were good. Should be a 5 star because I had $50 off + no waiting. But price is up there and definitely not on my top 10 list for sushi. That's why it's a 4. I still have another $50 off, I'll try the hibachi.

Ugh. I met two of my wonderful friends here. I wanted to go to Tijuana Flats but they both informed me they don't like Mexican (how is that POSSIBLE??) but they'd both been to Arirang before and loved it so we went here. I'm always up for Asian so I was excited since there were two raves. First of all, the atmosphere was really nice. Dark woods, lots of reds, bamboo shoots. I liked that a lot. However, the food? Not so much. I started with the traditional soup of broth, mushrooms and onions. It was very good. Loaded with mushrooms, not too salty, a classic that's hard to screw up. Next, we split the rock shrimp tempura. It was all right ... not very spicy and not NEARLY as good as the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill. I don't usually compare dishes but they're trying to do the exact same thing and Arirang just didn't pull it off. The batter was falling off, the sauce was tangy but not flavorful. Just, not a good effort. For dinner I had a shrimp tempura roll and an exotic roll (peppered tuna and avocado with spicy tuna and tempura flakes on top). Sounds awesome, right? No. The peppered tuna was just ... off. I've had peppered tuna before and it's been amazing but this one just wasn't flavorful. The spicy tuna had a whipped consistency, not chunky at all. It just wasn't good. The shrimp tempura roll was all right but again, it's a classic that's hard to screw up. I would perhaps go here again and try the hibachi or one of the entrees but I would steer clear of sushi. With so many other options in the area this place needs to pick it up.

The first time I ate at Arirang was for Hibachi --- and I haven't been back until last week, with a Groupon. I'm not sure what that says about Arirang - except maybe that there are so many great places around for sushi, that you've really got to be exceptional to keep folks coming back exclusively. I'm not quite sure they have it. My friends and I opted for the Intrepid Boat. That was the plan when we agreed to buy the Groupon. Give us that Boat. ...only when we ordered said 'boat' -- it came out on a large white plate. FAIL, d****t! The Boat is part of the whole silly experience of ordering a giant pile of sushi & sashimi. The offense of our order arriving sans-boat aside, the Intrepid consisted of 5 rolls, 14 pieces sushi, 21 pieces of sashimi with soup and salad for 3 people. There were 4 of us. Our waiter was pretty cool to offer just throwing another set of soup & salad our way -- but we were fine, as one in our group isn't so big on either. I couldn't quite identify the rolls that we were given -- they were decent, but nothing disappeared any faster off the plate than anything else. It was all very fresh, as was the miso soup (the salad was fresh, but their ginger dressing was a little bland.) Their red bean ice cream is probably the best in the area -- which scores them many points in the book of one of our diners. In the end, Arirang is definitely a cool place - the atmosphere is different. The place is BIG. They advertise that they are a Modern Asian Tavern - which apparently means that having a country band perform there on a Friday night is okay... it just has that mass produced chain sort of feel that kind of pales in comparison to places where you've gotta take off your shoes and slide into a private room with a low table. If you want to indulge - absolutely grab the next Groupon (I've seen it pop up a few times since we bought ours!) pick up your chopsticks and dig in. If you'd like to supply your own bottle of wine and slide across the floor in your socks - head to Tako on Galloway Road!

No... No... No... NEVER AGAIN Wanted to give it another chance, but this is a definite end to the experiment. Thursday, 6 pm, there were only 2 tables occupied in the sushi area, when we were seated. One would think it would take 15 min at most to get the order for two people. We waited for over half an hour. It's is not a typo! The take-out orders were filled before orders for sitting customers. And, again - other tables were already served; we were the only two people still waiting for our sushi. When it finally did arrive, it was so disappointing: bland, tasteless, flat on texture, and simply unappealing from all perspectives. I won't bore you with the lackluster details. I simply know we will not ever return here again.

The sushi here is absolutely horrible. It tastes like the fish was frozen and thawed. There are some side items that come with the sushi meals and they are not exactly rushing to remind or even ask if you want these items. I ordered the kobe sliders appetizer for my son and they charged an extra $3 which was not listed as an extra charge on the menu. My husband and I went to the hibachi before and they charged extra for fried rice. I just feel like this place nickel and dimes the clientele and provides subpar food.

We come here every year for my sister's birthday (about 4 years now). This year, my sister found a groupon online -- $15 for $30 worth of food. We all purchased it. Upon arrival to our table and review of the menu I noticed that the fried rice is not included in the hibatchi meal, it is $3 extra. I did not remember this before, is it new? If you want the rice that comes with the meal, it is plain white rice that is pre-made in the back -- it will not be cooked on the grill at your table. This was surprising to me, as their hibatchi dinners are quite expensive compared to other hibatchi steakhouses in the area, so for the fried rice to not be included is odd. Kids eat free 3 nights a week. It just so happened that the night we were there was one of those nights. None of us knew this prior to ordering. My nephew, who is 6, was not eating, he had eaten before we came but we thought it'd be fun for him to watch the hibatchi presentation. However, upon seeing a table across from us with noodles, he decided he wanted some, mid-way through the chef cooking our meal. The chef said he would order him noodles and mentioned to us that kids eat free so my nephew would be getting his meal for free. We thought 'great'. Check came at the end of the meal and the waitress charged us $4 for the noodles. We told her that the chef informed us that kids eat free. She explained that my nephew did not order a full meal, and therefore she must charge for the noodles. So she needed him to order MORE food, in order to get the buttered noodles for free? Despite arguing with her, she refused to take it off. Next is the Birthday celebration. If you've been here before, then you've seen the big deal they make when it's your birthday. One of the chef's comes out from the kitchen and sings to you, they flash the lights, have sparklers, take your photo, and deliver you a cake. For my sister's birthday, they stuck a candle in her boyfriend's ice cream and sat it down in front of her. No celebration at all. Was this because we used a groupon, we get the downgraded version? It wasn't as if they stopped doing the big celebrations, as we sat and watched their performance for a birthday at the table across from us. It was very disappointing. The manager came over at the end and asked us how everything was. We made a comment about not getting the big bday celebration for my sister's birthday, and he just looked at us and smiled and walked away. He either did not hear our comment, or pretended not to hear it. We all decided that we will find a new place to celebrate from now on. Per couple, the checks came to $60 (and then $30 after the groupon was reduced). This was for chicken or steak hibatchi dinners, with fried rice, and drinks (non-alcoholic).

This place has the best happy hour in Langhorne. I have never sat in the hibachi area. I'll just go for the happy hour and sit at the bar. They have awesome cheap drink specials and some really nice small rolls etc for $3-5. You really can't beat it. The bartender Bob is one of the most friendly bartenders I've ever had. Their rolls are very fresh and the food is high quality.

The ambiance is nice and the restaurant is very beautiful The food is okay, it's not the best hibachi I ever had but its nowhere near the worst. My con was that it was a little salty; I would've liked to taste the herbs and veggies in the food more. They did have a really great ginger dipping sauce and the soup/salad taste very good. I opted for the green tea ice cream and it had a nice taste. The chef was really nice too. I was a little sad b/c we told them it was my b-day and I didn't get any special complimentary item from the restaurant. This review is based in a combination of food and service. The prices here can be a little bit higher than cheaper places as my wife and I spent about $71 before tip for dinner w/appetizer and a drink each. The food was fantastic. Everything was so tasty and Mark our Chef was so much fun. He made the night with his jokes, his free saki squirts and tricks. I would recommend as my wide and I are avid habachi fans and this one of our new favorites.

Update to my original: I really wanted to like this place, but I just can't! The sushi was still subpar and way overpriced; it didn't have much in the way of flavor and was really just blah. The service is obnoxiously slow (think 15 minutes for drinks), the place is the loudest restaurant I've ever been in, and perhaps the most bothersome part of the entire meal was being sat next to the birthday gong which rang at least 10 times during our meal. A hibachi meal for three took almost two hours from start to finish, which is ridiculous. We gave it a shot a second time and were sorely disappointed again. Arirang, you fail yet again.

My SO and I have been to this Arirang location about a dozen times. We've almost always had good service and chefs. Two particular favorites of ours are Leah (the only female chef I've seen at any hibachi place) and Mark ("too much sake!"). I definitely recommend requesting Mark if you're looking for an entertaining evening - he's a crazy and lovable chef, and truly unforgettable. Speaking of unforgettable, let's talk about their fried cheesecake. Oh. My. God. It is, hands down, one of the best desserts I've ever had. It's an entire slice of cheesecake fried in tempura batter. The crispy outside is nice and warm, and the cheesecake inside is still cool and creamy. Every time I go there I end up talking about it with our fellow table members, and without fail at least two or three other people order it. (The place should give me a referral fee!) As for the food itself, it is quite good. I do wish the fried rice was included in the standard hibachi price, and not extra, which is one of the reasons why I can't give the place five stars. That said, the fried rice is delicious. The ginger salad dressing is really tasty, and I'm not really a fan of ginger, so that's saying a lot. I haven't tried the other dressing, but I've often heard others complimenting that as well. The soup is good - no better or worse than what most hibachi places offer. Overall, my SO and I enjoy coming out to Arirang for special occasions, and I really love going there for dessert. It's a little pricey, but we are signed up for their frequent diners card, so we typically get coupons that make it more affordable.

Sat in the regular dining area with a friend, ordered the Miso Sea Bass. I think the fish was the size of a 2 year olds hand. Hello I'm paying 20 bucks for how much food? Oh okay, I thought so.... Dining in for 2 people our bill came out to be way more expensive than we expected. I rather go waste my money on something that's worth it. When you dine in the hibachi, like all places they like to fill up the table before they start grilling your food. BUT Arirang holds back a bit...they keep asking you if you want drinks or appetizers as if they want you to buy their shit and not serve you the food that you intended to come for. They also charge you for fried rice...it's not included....and the prices are not that great. Don't waste your time here. There's an A1 if you want hibatchi and for those of you that think their sushi is fantastic, you can go to the mall and get the same quality.

Consistently good and well-rounded. From traditional hibachi to innovative, contemporary Japanese cuisine, I have yet to have a clunker of a meal at Arirang. And for a small, regional chain the look of the place is absolutely beautiful. My friend and I skipped the hibachi tables to eat in the tavern and loved it. Simple Japanese bar menu with some really cool menu selections. I ordered Shrimp Udon in a creamy, coconut broth that was filled with shrimp with salad and soup to boot. More than fair price, for a great meal. Definitely try it.

My family loves it here. Great for kids -- interactive and not quiet. Also, they have GLUTEN FREE soy sauce and were very accomadating for my food allergies. Nice decor, nice atmosphere, very slow service, way overpriced, small portions. There were three of us, one order of sushi, a seafood dish in broth, and a pasta dish with a side of fried rice. The sushi rolls were tiny, the seafood dish was MAYBE a 1.5 cups of seafood for $22.00, and $1.75 for 3 pieces of shrimp added to a small bowl of fried rice. It was tasty, but definitely a poor value. The server was slow, and seemed to be taking his time hoping we would drink more. Anything we needed I had to flag down the server instead of him occasionally checking on us. Easy to find other better places.

The food is very good here-the Exotic Roll is amazing and the Tuna Pizza a solid winner. The Hibachi section is only fair, but still a nice option-but this place has a huge footprint-they are a great bar, with tasty well made exotic drinks, a sushi place with great "rolls", a dinner spot with menu or hibachi options, and now have live music on Fridays...very impressive. The music is great, the food too, and I hope this place stays around and prospers for a long, long time.

This Arirang location is the 5th in an eighteen year time span and they claim to be the #1. Steakhouse and Sushi Bar. I disagree. It is three weeks old and it is a beautiful building, inside and out. A-1 Japanese Steakhouse is a hop, skip and a jump away from them and two stars better. We were heading to Millers Langhorne Alehouse and because of the Eagles game in the playoffs, all tables were taken and folks were standing around waiting to slip in to any vacant spots, so we gave up and noticed this new restaurant across the street. I can honestly say, that I normally have a wonderful experience, anytime I try Hibachi and Sushi, but, I left very un-impressed. We had ordered and received our cocktails and had pre ordered our appetizers of shrimp dumplings, California roll, shrimp & veggie tempura and a Philly roll of smoked salmon and cream cheese. Only one other Hibachi grill had been seated and five of them had left. They asked us if we would mind moving to the first table and we thought, well, won't we look like an ass if we don't, so we smiled and said sure, no problem! They have eight large, double hibachi tables and each holds eighteen seats or nine at each single grill. They have a separate bar area with tables for folks that want sushi alone or to order off the menu. The menu will blow your mind. So many choices for sushi, appetizers, combo's, entrees, salads, soups and Hibachi combinations. It is so extensive, but they do not execute what you have ordered very well. It was the worst shrimp fried rice I have ever had. Nothing was Hot! The shrimp was half cooked and some of you may have loved this, but no one at our table did. The vegetables were served almost raw and he threw half of it away and never added the mushrooms and was upset when I asked why not and turned them on the grill once. Their skills are the worst I have ever seen for entertaining the guests, he dropped every egg and he knew he did and dug out the shells. For our entrees I had filet and shrimp and my hubby had sirloin. I had mine medium rare and he had his rare. Those just kissed the grill and his was okay and mine shall be cooked more tomorrow! Needless to say, we left over $100.00 poorer and we were not at all thrilled! Airang, you are not #1 and maybe a bit confused since Arirang means beautiful deer in Korean and Hibachi is Japanese.

Where to start, well at 7:30 on a friday night we got seated right away. That was good for us, usually restaurants are at least a 10 minute wait on a friday night, a little revealing. Sat down at the hibachi and started looking at the vast menu. I was really surprised they charged extra for fried rice. Saw the rock shrimp appetizer, a weakness, so I ordered that. Never would order that again. It was swimming in the sauce, not just a coating but enough sauce for 2 additional orders. For some reason there were unattached fried shrimp tails in with the shrimp that I had to pick out to avoid eating. I asked the waiter if this is normal, to which he replied yes. They didn't do a good job of peeling the so called rock shrimp, the batter should be crunchy not the shrimp. I was questioning whether they served me rock shrimp and not just regular u-20s. The first round of drinks were perfect, I had gotten a mai tai that tasted just right. The second one was a whole different story, it was so strong, I wasn't quite sure if they even added the juice to it. The main course tasted good, wasn't anything special, nothing that would make me go back there over the A1 japanese steak house down the street. The food at A1 is better, there's no upcharge for fried rice, and the tapenyaki chefs are more entertaining.

Stopped by on a Friday night with no wait. Service was really good... the hostess was so sweet and our waitress was always smiling, which in today's environment, was refreshing. We even had a visit from the Manager. We ordered the special for an appetizer... some cooked chicken dish that you wrap in lettuce...the name escapes me. There was so much of it, I didn't think I'd be able to eat dinner. Ordered a typical sushi dinner and husband ordered a cooked butterfly shrimp dish. He was iffy on his as it was cooked with some coconut infused sauce...different, but ok. Mine was typical sushi...nothing special...but the sashimi (without rice) was really good. Their tuna was very fresh and pink. Overall, I would come here again, but not over some of the other sushi places I've been to (Sakura in Bensalem and Sagami in Collingswood, NJ). Also, ate in the "tavern" side as the Hibachi side was really noisy. Don't recommend the other side unless you are with a group.

I went here on a Monday night with my husband and our friend. Since we went here on a recommendation, we had high expectations. Worried that it might be busy, we called ahead. I was told they did not take reservations but had 'call ahead seating' so I gave our name and asked for the 7:00 time slot. We got there at 6:45 and were told it was a 35 minute wait. We sat at the bar for a while; there was only one tender but clearly they needed two. We were seated around 7:20. We were seated at a full table with two other parties. I noticed an abundance of kids around -- then realized it was a kids eat free night. Looking at the menu prices, I soon realized how they could afford to feed kids for free. Menu prices are 25-40% higher than the hibachi competition--so for a kid-free party like ours, it was no deal. The food itself was decent, but the dinner was timed horribly. After two hours we were served drinks and salads, then finally our appetizer. Our entire table finally asked to speak to the manager and issued a complaint. Ten minutes later our chef came out and gave a good performance, but he seemed a bit stressed and overworked--as did all of the staff. Clearly they did not have enough people working there. In total, we were at the restaurant for four hours. That is an unacceptable time frame, especially with 'call ahead seating.' The manager and staff at last did issue an apology after we pointed out that another table that was seated after us happened to be eating before we even had salads. This place only earns a second star because the staff realized that they screwed up. While they didn't actually take responsibility (just offered 'we're busy' excuses), they did at least apologize and comp half the meal for each table. I did like that there is a salad dressing choice (lemon or creamy ginger). Didn't like that you have to pay extra for fried rice, which should be a hibachi staple. It was nice that the meal included soup, white rice (though...they forgot to serve mine), and ice cream dessert. Food quality was good--no real complaints except my friend said that the tempura on his sushi dish was so overwhelming he tasted nothing else. If you don't have kids, it's kind of pointless to go here on a kids eat free night because the place is jam-packed with families and you won't get a table. When you finally do get one, you're stuck at a table with some whiny five-year-olds that have had to wait several hours more than expected for a dinner. Chef was friendly with the kids; staff were generally nice--just altogether clueless. I like that the chef actually asked if anyone at the table had allergies instead of just tossing shrimp into people's mouths. Not worth the money, especially if you are traveling from Philly or Jersey. In Philly: Try "Hibachi" on Columbus Blvd near Dave & Buster's. In Jersey: Try Yama in Lumberton. No hibachi tables, but friendly, fast service.

I went to this restaurant with my friend on a Sunday night and got seated at a hibatchi table immediately. The hibatchi selection is a little slim, but covers the basics-steak, chicken, fish, seafood. The chef was very talented and entertaining, and very funny. We had a great time! I liked that they made sure of any food allergies before cooking, and the prices were pretty standard compared to the other hibatchi restaurants I've been to in this area. Didn't get a chance to taste the sushi (the waiter forgot to bring out our appetizer, but that's ok, he was extremely busy!) but the hibatchi cooked portion was very good...not as good as Mt. Fuji, but still good. Also the hibatchi dinner included a lot of food--soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, white rice, your main meal, and then ice cream for dessert. *Hint* The green tea ice cream is soo good! You definitely won't leave hungry. I think this would be a great place to bring a handful of friends or have a party since the tables seat so many people and the chefs like for you to participate and have fun.

This review is based in a combination of food and service. The prices here can be a little bit higher than cheaper places as my wife and I spent about $71 before tip for dinner w/appetizer and a drink each. The food was fantastic. Everything was so tasty and Mark our Chef was so much fun. He made the night with his jokes, his free saki squirts and tricks. I would recommend as my wide and I are avid habachi fans and this one of our new favorites.

This place was nice. I'd eat here again. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The ambiance is nice and the restaurant is very beautiful The food is okay, it's not the best hibachi I ever had but its nowhere near the worst. My con was that it was a little salty; I would've liked to taste the herbs and veggies in the food more. They did have a really great ginger dipping sauce and the soup/salad taste very good. I opted for the green tea ice cream and it had a nice taste. The chef was really nice too. I was a little sad b/c we told them it was my b-day and I didn't get any special complimentary item from the restaurant. (not that it's a must, but it would've been nice) They do get 5 starts for my strawberry virgin daiquiri. It was delicious!!! I almost drank the cup, and the presentation of the drink was reeeally nice.

Update to my original: I really wanted to like this place, but I just can't! The sushi was still subpar and way overpriced; it didn't have much in the way of flavor and was really just blah. The service is obnoxiously slow (think 15 minutes for drinks), the place is the loudest restaurant I've ever been in, and perhaps the most bothersome part of the entire meal was being sat next to the birthday gong which rang at least 10 times during our meal. A hibachi meal for three took almost two hours from start to finish, which is ridiculous. We gave it a shot a second time and were sorely disappointed again. Arirang, you fail yet again.

Takes a long time to get food here even though it's never crowded (in the dining room at least, never had their habachi). Still, we ordered a ton of sushi apps so only got one entree and our waiter was super nice about getting us two salads and soups.

We come here every year for my sister's birthday (about 4 years now). This year, my sister found a groupon online -- $15 for $30 worth of food. We all purchased it. Upon arrival to our table and review of the menu I noticed that the fried rice is not included in the hibatchi meal, it is $3 extra. I did not remember this before, is it new? If you want the rice that comes with the meal, it is plain white rice that is pre-made in the back -- it will not be cooked on the grill at your table. This was surprising to me, as their hibatchi dinners are quite expensive compared to other hibatchi steakhouses in the area, so for the fried rice to not be included is odd. Kids eat free 3 nights a week. It just so happened that the night we were there was one of those nights. None of us knew this prior to ordering. My nephew, who is 6, was not eating, he had eaten before we came but we thought it'd be fun for him to watch the hibatchi presentation. However, upon seeing a table across from us with noodles, he decided he wanted some, mid-way through the chef cooking our meal. The chef said he would order him noodles and mentioned to us that kids eat free so my nephew would be getting his meal for free. We thought 'great'. Check came at the end of the meal and the waitress charged us $4 for the noodles. We told her that the chef informed us that kids eat free. She explained that my nephew did not order a full meal, and therefore she must charge for the noodles. So she needed him to order MORE food, in order to get the buttered noodles for free? Despite arguing with her, she refused to take it off. Next is the Birthday celebration. If you've been here before, then you've seen the big deal they make when it's your birthday. One of the chef's comes out from the kitchen and sings to you, they flash the lights, have sparklers, take your photo, and deliver you a cake. For my sister's birthday, they stuck a candle in her boyfriend's ice cream and sat it down in front of her. No celebration at all. Was this because we used a groupon, we get the downgraded version? It wasn't as if they stopped doing the big celebrations, as we sat and watched their performance for a birthday at the table across from us. It was very disappointing. The manager came over at the end and asked us how everything was. We made a comment about not getting the big bday celebration for my sister's birthday, and he just looked at us and smiled and walked away. He either did not hear our comment, or pretended not to hear it. We all decided that we will find a new place to celebrate from now on. Per couple, the checks came to $60 (and then $30 after the groupon was reduced). This was for chicken or steak hibatchi dinners, with fried rice, and drinks (non-alcoholic).

Arirang's food and service are always good, but it can be a bit pricey. They frequently offer mailed coupons or emailed so it doesn't make sense to pay full price here--just join their email list and look out for them on Groupon or LivingSocial.

Salty-rang anyone? A good friend of mine, and fellow Yelper, warned me to avoid Arirang. I always listen to her recommendations, but after being constantly told by a co-worker how "amazing" it is, I decided to give it a shot. I went at 7:30 on a Saturday with three other people and we were seated right away, which was great. My group of 4 decided to order 2 chicken & steak combos and pay the $4.25 share charge for each entree. We were all disappointed to see that both noddles and fried rice were an upcharge. We each ordered a side noddles for $2.99, but decided to pass on the fried rice. While we waited for our chef we ate our soup and salad. I didn't care too much for the soup, but the salad with ginger dressing was enjoyable. Once our chef came out he made the noddles first. My group were the only ones at the table to order noddles. We all ate them and, BAM! , hello salt! After just one bite we all looked at each other and you could tell we were all thinking the same thing. The rest of the meal was just as disappointing and salty, with a slight exception for the veggies. I've never been one to complain about salt, but WOW! This was disgusting! I also should mention how the chicken was so dry it was almost hard to chew and the slices of steak were extremely fatty, although the chef did cut off a lot of it. I have no desire to go there again. It was very overpriced, especially for the quality of the food. We actually had to go and get Shamrock shakes after the meal to get the taste of salt out of our mouths.

Ugh. I met two of my wonderful friends here. I wanted to go to Tijuana Flats but they both informed me they don't like Mexican (how is that POSSIBLE??) but they'd both been to Arirang before and loved it so we went here. I'm always up for Asian so I was excited since there were two raves. First of all, the atmosphere was really nice. Dark woods, lots of reds, bamboo shoots. I liked that a lot. However, the food? Not so much. I started with the traditional soup of broth, mushrooms and onions. It was very good. Loaded with mushrooms, not too salty, a classic that's hard to screw up. Next, we split the rock shrimp tempura. It was all right ... not very spicy and not NEARLY as good as the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill. I don't usually compare dishes but they're trying to do the exact same thing and Arirang just didn't pull it off. The batter was falling off, the sauce was tangy but not flavorful. Just, not a good effort. For dinner I had a shrimp tempura roll and an exotic roll (peppered tuna and avocado with spicy tuna and tempura flakes on top). Sounds awesome, right? No. The peppered tuna was just ... off. I've had peppered tuna before and it's been amazing but this one just wasn't flavorful. The spicy tuna had a whipped consistency, not chunky at all. It just wasn't good. The shrimp tempura roll was all right but again, it's a classic that's hard to screw up. I would perhaps go here again and try the hibachi or one of the entrees but I would steer clear of sushi. With so many other options in the area this place needs to pick it up.

This place has the best happy hour in Langhorne. I have never sat in the hibachi area. I'll just go for the happy hour and sit at the bar. They have awesome cheap drink specials and some really nice small rolls etc for $3-5. You really can't beat it. The bartender Bob is one of the most friendly bartenders I've ever had. Their rolls are very fresh and the food is high quality.

My SO and I have been to this Arirang location about a dozen times. We've almost always had good service and chefs. Two particular favorites of ours are Leah (the only female chef I've seen at any hibachi place) and Mark ("too much sake!"). I definitely recommend requesting Mark if you're looking for an entertaining evening - he's a crazy and lovable chef, and truly unforgettable. Speaking of unforgettable, let's talk about their fried cheesecake. Oh. My. God. It is, hands down, one of the best desserts I've ever had. It's an entire slice of cheesecake fried in tempura batter. The crispy outside is nice and warm, and the cheesecake inside is still cool and creamy. Every time I go there I end up talking about it with our fellow table members, and without fail at least two or three other people order it. (The place should give me a referral fee!) As for the food itself, it is quite good. I do wish the fried rice was included in the standard hibachi price, and not extra, which is one of the reasons why I can't give the place five stars. That said, the fried rice is delicious. The ginger salad dressing is really tasty, and I'm not really a fan of ginger, so that's saying a lot. I haven't tried the other dressing, but I've often heard others complimenting that as well. The soup is good - no better or worse than what most hibachi places offer. Overall, my SO and I enjoy coming out to Arirang for special occasions, and I really love going there for dessert. It's a little pricey, but we are signed up for their frequent diners card, so we typically get coupons that make it more affordable.

Second time here after a day at sesame place and the second good experience we've had. The restaurant sears you promptly and the staff is friendly and serves you quickly. The chefs here are some of the most entertaining that I have had in 25 years if enjoying Japanese hibachi cooking. All the food is fresh and good including the sushi. Will be back next time we are in town.

Awful! Don't waste your money! Salad was soggy and watery! I ordered the hibachi steak and chicken, the steak was fatty and had a funny taste to it, and the chicken was fatty as well. The only good thing was the fried rice, which was an extra $2.99!!! Next time I want hibachi arirang is the last place I'd go! Theres a much better hibachi place just up the street!

I went here on a Monday night with my husband and our friend. Since we went here on a recommendation, we had high expectations. Worried that it might be busy, we called ahead. I was told they did not take reservations but had 'call ahead seating' so I gave our name and asked for the 7:00 time slot. We got there at 6:45 and were told it was a 35 minute wait. We sat at the bar for a while; there was only one tender but clearly they needed two. We were seated around 7:20. We were seated at a full table with two other parties. I noticed an abundance of kids around -- then realized it was a kids eat free night. Looking at the menu prices, I soon realized how they could afford to feed kids for free. Menu prices are 25-40% higher than the hibachi competition--so for a kid-free party like ours, it was no deal. The food itself was decent, but the dinner was timed horribly. After two hours we were served drinks and salads, then finally our appetizer. Our entire table finally asked to speak to the manager and issued a complaint. Ten minutes later our chef came out and gave a good performance, but he seemed a bit stressed and overworked--as did all of the staff. Clearly they did not have enough people working there. In total, we were at the restaurant for four hours. That is an unacceptable time frame, especially with 'call ahead seating.' The manager and staff at last did issue an apology after we pointed out that another table that was seated after us happened to be eating before we even had salads. This place only earns a second star because the staff realized that they screwed up. While they didn't actually take responsibility (just offered 'we're busy' excuses), they did at least apologize and comp half the meal for each table. I did like that there is a salad dressing choice (lemon or creamy ginger). Didn't like that you have to pay extra for fried rice, which should be a hibachi staple. It was nice that the meal included soup, white rice (though...they forgot to serve mine), and ice cream dessert. Food quality was good--no real complaints except my friend said that the tempura on his sushi dish was so overwhelming he tasted nothing else. If you don't have kids, it's kind of pointless to go here on a kids eat free night because the place is jam-packed with families and you won't get a table. When you finally do get one, you're stuck at a table with some whiny five-year-olds that have had to wait several hours more than expected for a dinner. Chef was friendly with the kids; staff were generally nice--just altogether clueless. I like that the chef actually asked if anyone at the table had allergies instead of just tossing shrimp into people's mouths. Not worth the money, especially if you are traveling from Philly or Jersey. In Philly: Try "Hibachi" on Columbus Blvd near Dave & Buster's. In Jersey: Try Yama in Lumberton. No hibachi tables, but friendly, fast service.

Besides the ridiculousness that ensued from the wait staff, the food was delish! Wish we had time to eat it though...

Horrible experience and we didn't even get a table! Decided to go for dinner with a group of 4 adults and some kids. When 2 of us walked in with a 5 year old and a 4 week old baby we were told that we could not be seated until the rest of our party had arrived. We stated that we'd like to order some sushi while we waited. They told us that we had to go sit in the bar. We had children with us so the bar was not the place for us. Well they had a couple booth tables in the bar area so we sat there and ordered some sushi while we waited. About 20 minutes into our waiting period the hostess comes up to us and asks if the rest of our party had arrived, when we said they would be there in a couple minutes they told us there was now a 45 minute wait and we couldn't be out on the list until the entire party had arrived! It's one thing to not seat people until the entire party arrives but to not put us on the list when we had an infant with us is just ridiculous!

The first time I was here back last year, we used a $15 for $30 groupon for sushi. Since the deal is decent and the food is okay, I bought the deal again. Again, we ordered 4 special rolls, ate, and gave the groupon to our waiter when he arrived. However, he informed us that the deal was only for entrees and not sushi. It does say so on the fine print, so there was nothing I can really argue with. This was a disappointment since the groupon was valid for sushi last time. The bill came out to be a little over $50 and almost $60 including tips. I would have been okay paying that price, but the special rolls were the size of a regular roll anywhere else. The rice was a bit bland and everything was just mediocre. I would say the waiter was speedy and attentive, but everything else was just meh.

I ended up in this place 'cuz they had a $50 off at groupon.com . Around 5:30pm on a Monday, we didn't experince the long wait time to get seated and to get our food. When you get in, left is the private dining, right is hibachi, and middle is the bar area (where the loud music is at). I only tried the private dining and the service is great!! We had sushi/sashimi + crab cake + flounder were good. Should be a 5 star because I had $50 off + no waiting. But price is up there and definitely not on my top 10 list for sushi. That's why it's a 4. I still have another $50 off, I'll try the hibachi.

The food is very good here-the Exotic Roll is amazing and the Tuna Pizza a solid winner. The Hibachi section is only fair, but still a nice option-but this place has a huge footprint-they are a great bar, with tasty well made exotic drinks, a sushi place with great "rolls", a dinner spot with menu or hibachi options, and now have live music on Fridays...very impressive. The music is great, the food too, and I hope this place stays around and prospers for a long, long time.

This Arirang location is the 5th in an eighteen year time span and they claim to be the #1. Steakhouse and Sushi Bar. I disagree. It is three weeks old and it is a beautiful building, inside and out. A-1 Japanese Steakhouse is a hop, skip and a jump away from them and two stars better. We were heading to Millers Langhorne Alehouse and because of the Eagles game in the playoffs, all tables were taken and folks were standing around waiting to slip in to any vacant spots, so we gave up and noticed this new restaurant across the street. I can honestly say, that I normally have a wonderful experience, anytime I try Hibachi and Sushi, but, I left very un-impressed. We had ordered and received our cocktails and had pre ordered our appetizers of shrimp dumplings, California roll, shrimp & veggie tempura and a Philly roll of smoked salmon and cream cheese. Only one other Hibachi grill had been seated and five of them had left. They asked us if we would mind moving to the first table and we thought, well, won't we look like an ass if we don't, so we smiled and said sure, no problem! They have eight large, double hibachi tables and each holds eighteen seats or nine at each single grill. They have a separate bar area with tables for folks that want sushi alone or to order off the menu. The menu will blow your mind. So many choices for sushi, appetizers, combo's, entrees, salads, soups and Hibachi combinations. It is so extensive, but they do not execute what you have ordered very well. It was the worst shrimp fried rice I have ever had. Nothing was Hot! The shrimp was half cooked and some of you may have loved this, but no one at our table did. The vegetables were served almost raw and he threw half of it away and never added the mushrooms and was upset when I asked why not and turned them on the grill once. Their skills are the worst I have ever seen for entertaining the guests, he dropped every egg and he knew he did and dug out the shells. For our entrees I had filet and shrimp and my hubby had sirloin. I had mine medium rare and he had his rare. Those just kissed the grill and his was okay and mine shall be cooked more tomorrow! Needless to say, we left over $100.00 poorer and we were not at all thrilled! Airang, you are not #1 and maybe a bit confused since Arirang means beautiful deer in Korean and Hibachi is Japanese.

Where to start, well at 7:30 on a friday night we got seated right away. That was good for us, usually restaurants are at least a 10 minute wait on a friday night, a little revealing. Sat down at the hibachi and started looking at the vast menu. I was really surprised they charged extra for fried rice. Saw the rock shrimp appetizer, a weakness, so I ordered that. Never would order that again. It was swimming in the sauce, not just a coating but enough sauce for 2 additional orders. For some reason there were unattached fried shrimp tails in with the shrimp that I had to pick out to avoid eating. I asked the waiter if this is normal, to which he replied yes. They didn't do a good job of peeling the so called rock shrimp, the batter should be crunchy not the shrimp. I was questioning whether they served me rock shrimp and not just regular u-20s. The first round of drinks were perfect, I had gotten a mai tai that tasted just right. The second one was a whole different story, it was so strong, I wasn't quite sure if they even added the juice to it. The main course tasted good, wasn't anything special, nothing that would make me go back there over the A1 japanese steak house down the street. The food at A1 is better, there's no upcharge for fried rice, and the tapenyaki chefs are more entertaining.

Stopped by on a Friday night with no wait. Service was really good... the hostess was so sweet and our waitress was always smiling, which in today's environment, was refreshing. We even had a visit from the Manager. We ordered the special for an appetizer... some cooked chicken dish that you wrap in lettuce...the name escapes me. There was so much of it, I didn't think I'd be able to eat dinner. Ordered a typical sushi dinner and husband ordered a cooked butterfly shrimp dish. He was iffy on his as it was cooked with some coconut infused sauce...different, but ok. Mine was typical sushi...nothing special...but the sashimi (without rice) was really good. Their tuna was very fresh and pink. Overall, I would come here again, but not over some of the other sushi places I've been to (Sakura in Bensalem and Sagami in Collingswood, NJ). Also, ate in the "tavern" side as the Hibachi side was really noisy. Don't recommend the other side unless you are with a group.

Sat in the regular dining area with a friend, ordered the Miso Sea Bass. I think the fish was the size of a 2 year olds hand. Hello I'm paying 20 bucks for how much food? Oh okay, I thought so.... Dining in for 2 people our bill came out to be way more expensive than we expected. I rather go waste my money on something that's worth it. When you dine in the hibachi, like all places they like to fill up the table before they start grilling your food. BUT Arirang holds back a bit...they keep asking you if you want drinks or appetizers as if they want you to buy their shit and not serve you the food that you intended to come for. They also charge you for fried rice...it's not included....and the prices are not that great. Don't waste your time here. There's an A1 if you want hibatchi and for those of you that think their sushi is fantastic, you can go to the mall and get the same quality.

Consistently good and well-rounded. From traditional hibachi to innovative, contemporary Japanese cuisine, I have yet to have a clunker of a meal at Arirang. And for a small, regional chain the look of the place is absolutely beautiful. My friend and I skipped the hibachi tables to eat in the tavern and loved it. Simple Japanese bar menu with some really cool menu selections. I ordered Shrimp Udon in a creamy, coconut broth that was filled with shrimp with salad and soup to boot. More than fair price, for a great meal. Definitely try it.

My family loves it here. Great for kids -- interactive and not quiet. Also, they have GLUTEN FREE soy sauce and were very accomadating for my food allergies. My food allergies are not severe, but we called ahead and they had gluten free soy sauce ready for me and the chef cooked all my food (even separated the fried rice) for me. Ask for Mark -- he is hilarious and was great with the kids we had with us!

I went to this restaurant with my friend on a Sunday night and got seated at a hibatchi table immediately. The hibatchi selection is a little slim, but covers the basics-steak, chicken, fish, seafood. The chef was very talented and entertaining, and very funny. We had a great time! I liked that they made sure of any food allergies before cooking, and the prices were pretty standard compared to the other hibatchi restaurants I've been to in this area. Didn't get a chance to taste the sushi (the waiter forgot to bring out our appetizer, but that's ok, he was extremely busy!) but the hibatchi cooked portion was very good...not as good as Mt. Fuji, but still good. Also the hibatchi dinner included a lot of food--soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, white rice, your main meal, and then ice cream for dessert. *Hint* The green tea ice cream is soo good! You definitely won't leave hungry. I think this would be a great place to bring a handful of friends or have a party since the tables seat so many people and the chefs like for you to participate and have fun.

Nice decor, nice atmosphere, very slow service, way overpriced, small portions. There were three of us, one order of sushi, a seafood dish in broth, and a pasta dish with a side of fried rice. The sushi rolls were tiny, the seafood dish was MAYBE a 1.5 cups of seafood for $22.00, and $1.75 for 3 pieces of shrimp added to a small bowl of fried rice. It was tasty, but definitely a poor value. The server was slow, and seemed to be taking his time hoping we would drink more. Anything we needed I had to flag down the server instead of him occasionally checking on us. Easy to find other better places.
Average for a hibachi bar. Good food and entertaining staff. Good for birthdays as u get a little lightshow and song with cake. Best with groups of 6 to 10

Exceptional quality food, atmosphere and service. Although the hibachi cooking "show" was pretty standard it's a great value overall. I enjoyed steak and lobster, my wife had scallops. Both were perfectly cooked hibachi style with fresh vegetables in front of us and each meal included tasty soup, salad, rice, and ice cream. The freshness and quality of everything was impressive. We'll be back - especially on Friday nights when they have a great guitar player in the lounge

I visited Arirang yesterday and overall, I was perplexed. Our reservation for a relatively large group (12) was set for 5:15, yet there we waited for another half hour until we were even seated. It seemed to me that their wait staff was unable to handle a group of our size even though hibachi is generally considered a group activity. All of our drinks and appetizers came out sporadically, usually with all but one person receiving their item at once and the last person having to wait another 5 minutes for the server to show up again. The food was great, however. I ordered the chicken yaki soba and all aspects of the meal were delicious. Our hibachi chef was entertaining with the typical hibachi antics but not too theatrical so as to distract you from your meal. I almost died when I saw the bill. $77 for two! It seems like everything costs extra at this place; the extra charge for fried rice is completely ludicrous and nearly 10 dollars a glass for cheap house wine and bottom shelf sangria really add up. I would get Arirang if I was able to get it to go, but otherwise I won't be back.

Went there on a Tuesday night with friends and 3 kids amongst us. The service was very good. Everyone was friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. However, the food was really salty, especially the fried rice. Despite that though, a good time was had by my almost 3 year old, so I can't complain. Oh, and kids ate for free, so that was nice too! (I think it's only on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights that kids eat for free - call restaurant to confirm this tho.)

We've been here thrice for Hibachi dinner. The Hibachi experience is interactive and funny like all other places. Most of the wait staff and chefs are friendly and the Hibachi is ok. In the grand scheme of things, we can't find anything in particular that would set this place a cut above the rest of the Americanized Hibachi places that are scattered around the tri-state area. Oh and before we forget, they have a signature tradition of celebrating birthdays. The correct word would be "Okasan" but it appears that the chain hasn't done its home work and continues to commit this faux pas everyday lol.

We've been here a few times but our visit today was excellent. We knew ahead of time that making a reservation on Open Table is only basically call ahead seating. However, going on a Thursday, it wasn't at all crowded and we were seated immediately. The sever was excellent, very personable and attentive. The chef was great as well, food tasted good and we got a lot!! We were celebrating my son's birthday and when we mentioned it, they did disclose that for $15 we could order a cake. It was a very good ice cream cake and worth it for us. While the food has always been good, sometimes service or staff was lacking when we went at a "peak" time (Friday or Saturday) so I'd recommend going off-peak for a great experience.

Excellent food, fantastic service and a lot of fun. Had 8 for hibachi and had a blast. Great menu, variety and great drinks. Food was delicious, filet, scallops, excellent. Sushi was super fresh - delicious. Only lose a star from me b/c I made a reservation via Open Table and they treated it like a "call ahead." So, when we all arrived at the restaurant they told me we would be seated within a 1/2 hour. Reservations should not be treated the same as "call a heads." Otherwise, everything was fantastic.

Gone here at least ten times. Have never had hibachi we've always sat in the restaurant section. I was there the same time as Sean P and Donna W seated near them. We had the same waiter Tai. I had an issue with my soup manager fixed immediately. I also observed him go over to the table with Donna W. She gave him the run around stating the other girls wanted to complain. They weren't present so the extremely busy manager left. My sushi was fantastic as always. Service was slower than a weeknight however it was a Friday night. Trust a veteran yelper as myself over a couple recent 1 review disgruntled yelpers.

We have been going here for several years now and I have to say that the only thing that keeps us going back is Jerry. Jerry is a server in the tavern part of the restaurant and he's awesome. This time last year we started to get horrible service - messed up orders, cold (hot) tea, and slow service so we stopped going. Then we came back cause of a coupon and Jerry was there and everything was wonderful again. Tonight however we went and had another server and it was horrible. We waited 30 minutes between ordering and receiving our dinner ... and that arrived before our appetizer! The server didn't know the menu and didn't ask us questions that Jerry always asks (like what kind of soy sauce we wanted). Then when we went to pay he took our coupon out of the payment folder and ignored it - when we told him we had a coupon he asked us for it ... even though he had it and had taken it out. So, we will from now on call before going and ask if Jerry is working. If so, we'll come in ... if not ... there are other options with better service in the area.

I went here for hibachi last night, I ordered the filet mignon and chicken, the filet was great, very tender and juicy, but the chicken was somewhat dry. They gave me so little meat too, other places gave me way more so I was not used to the smaller portion. The fried rice was okay, nothing special, but what was surprising was that they charge like $3 for fried rice; this is ridiculous because other places include fried rice with the hibachi. I rather take the fried rice over the miso soup any day for hibachi. ALSO.... I didn't realized ice cream was included in the hibachi, they didn't even let us know; I really thought it was extra until I looked up their menu online....This place is expensive, save your money and go somewhere else.

Love this place, we tried several sushi rolls and the tuna pizza. The tuna pizza was so good!! Everything was fresh. We came here during happy hour and they had an entertainer singing an playing the guitar. Which is great as this is not so common in this area. Also if you eat here multiple times the restaurant has a rewards program!

I was craving sushi one of the nights while visiting Philadelphia suburbs, and discovered this place on Yelp. With it being the only place around, I circumspectly decided to try with the knowledge of the average three star rating. Upon arrival, the interior decor was unbelievably lavish and perfectly lit with hues of red. It seemed out of place in the suburbs of Philly; its decor resembles an upscale place one would come across in Manhattan New York. Traveling solo, I decided to dine at the bar, after I was pleasantly greeted by the hostess. The bartender's professionalism and her attentiveness was unfortunately the best part of my dining experience. I started with a drink called Arirang Special, which incorporates rum, blue curaçao and pineapple juice. It was quite tasty and at $4, it was definitely gold. Excited about sushi, I ordered the safe bets, the Cucumber Roll ($3.29) and the Rainbow Roll ($9.99), to start with. Typically, this would be just about right for me for a light dinner. When the rolls arrived, I was puzzled and disappointed by both roll sizes. Unbelievably, the Rainbow Roll is typically larger than any cucumber roll, I've consumed anywhere, but not here. The diameter of both rolls was a tad larger than my thumb. The taste did not compensate either; the cucumber roll's seaweed was dry and difficult to chew through and the rainbow roll tasted like mayonnaise and not much else. I finished both and decided to get one more roll, as I was still hungry. I ordered the Sashimi Roll ($11.99); salmon, avocado and masago wrapped with tuna. The service was expedient and the roll arrived in matter of minutes. Again, bland tasting pieces the size of previous rolls. I figured that with the roll wrapped with tuna, it would have been decent size. At this point I was irritated from hunger and lack of taste, and I voiced this to the polite bartender. She fetched the manager without my request. He was professional about the situation and removed the Sashimi roll off my bill. Stubborn and on a mission to be fed, I decided to try something else off of their menu, which includes assortment of hibachi and salads. I decided to try their Calamari Salad with wasabi vinaigrette dressing. It mostly remedied the situation. Not only was it properly sized, it had an assortment of fresh and crispy greens, most of which I can't name. The dressing had a perfect balance of oil and vinaigrette. The calamari was equally splendid, as it was lightly battered and deep fired to light perfection. In summary, the sushi rolls were a disappointment, but the professionalism in which the situation was handled was superb. I will most likely return and try their hibachi and nigiri. I took a peek at other's dishes and they were remarkably well prepared and in proper portions. I will definitely skip the roll selection all together.

Excellent service! Food was fantastic! Go hungry portions are pretty large. I had the hibachi steak and scallops it was great. They have a kids menu and those portions are huge too. They had some live music in the dining area. I never give places a 5 stars but this place deserves it.

The restaurant was empty with patrons, but overloaded with to-go orders. We waited an hour for our sushi due to the to-go order overload. I get it. If I'm sitting there, my order should go first. Just sayin'. We will give it one more chance for better service.

No complaints with the food but the front wait staff is terrible. We made reservations well in advance and still had to wait 35 minutes just to be seated. This is unacceptable, especially with 2 young children under the age of 6. After two inquiries about the wait we were angrily told by the hostess that it is typical to wait at least 30 minutes, even with a reservation. Not too sure what the point of a reservation was. It was another 50 minutes before our chef came out. Thankfully the waiter, Wing, was very friendly and our chef, Marco, was entertaining as well.

The first time I ate at Arirang was for Hibachi --- and I haven't been back until last week, with a Groupon. I'm not sure what that says about Arirang - except maybe that there are so many great places around for sushi, that you've really got to be exceptional to keep folks coming back exclusively. I'm not quite sure they have it. My friends and I opted for the Intrepid Boat. That was the plan when we agreed to buy the Groupon. Give us that Boat. ...only when we ordered said 'boat' -- it came out on a large white plate. FAIL, d****t! The Boat is part of the whole silly experience of ordering a giant pile of sushi & sashimi. The offense of our order arriving sans-boat aside, the Intrepid consisted of 5 rolls, 14 pieces sushi, 21 pieces of sashimi with soup and salad for 3 people. There were 4 of us. Our waiter was pretty cool to offer just throwing another set of soup & salad our way -- but we were fine, as one in our group isn't so big on either. I couldn't quite identify the rolls that we were given -- they were decent, but nothing disappeared any faster off the plate than anything else. It was all very fresh, as was the miso soup (the salad was fresh, but their ginger dressing was a little bland.) Their red bean ice cream is probably the best in the area -- which scores them many points in the book of one of our diners. In the end, Arirang is definitely a cool place - the atmosphere is different. The place is BIG. They advertise that they are a Modern Asian Tavern - which apparently means that having a country band perform there on a Friday night is okay... it just has that mass produced chain sort of feel that kind of pales in comparison to places where you've gotta take off your shoes and slide into a private room with a low table. If you want to indulge - absolutely grab the next Groupon (I've seen it pop up a few times since we bought ours!) pick up your chopsticks and dig in. If you'd like to supply your own bottle of wine and slide across the floor in your socks - head to Tako on Galloway Road!

One would think it would take 15 min at most to get the order for two people. We waited for over half an hour. It's is not a typo! The take-out orders were filled before orders for sitting customers. And, again - other tables were already served; we were the only two people still waiting for our sushi. When it finally did arrive, it was so disappointing: bland, tasteless, flat on texture, and simply unappealing from all perspectives. I won't bore you with the lackluster details. I simply know we will not ever return here again.

The sushi here is absolutely horrible. It tastes like the fish was frozen and thawed. There are some side items that come with the sushi meals and they are not exactly rushing to remind or even ask if you want these items. I ordered the kobe sliders appetizer for my son and they charged an extra $3 which was not listed as an extra charge on the menu. My husband and I went to the hibachi before and they charged extra for fried rice. I just feel like this place nickel and dimes the clientele and provides subpar food.

I've had both Arirang's hibachi and sushi dinner, and although they're two very different experiences, neither have disappointed. Their food melts in your mouth and everything is freshly prepared, yet one would certainly expect top-notch flavors, because Arirang's prices can empty a person's pockets out. Two helpings of salad, one Rock Shrimp appetizer, and a sushi/sashimi platter down and my check was roughly $45. I only had to pay $10, since I had a groupon for $35 off, but would a broke college-grad like myself ever go there without said groupon? As much as I'd like to, I just don't see it happening more than twice a year. Yet, if I did decide to splurge, Arirang would leave me well-satisfied, since their service, ambiance, and food all make for a great experience. If I were you, however, I'd call ahead to avoid a wait. My Favorites: (Keep in mind, I've only been here twice) - Rock Shrimp Appetizer - Fillet Minion or Salmon Hibachi

I have not actually had their hibachi, just have eaten in their sushi dining room. The sushi is decent, what you would generally expect at a place like this. Their fried rice is really good though - they add sake to it when cooking which makes the rice a little sweet, a nice contrast to the salty, savoryness of the soy sauce.

We come here every year for my sister's birthday (about 4 years now). This year, my sister found a groupon online -- $15 for $30 worth of food. We all purchased it. Upon arrival to our table and review of the menu I noticed that the fried rice is not included in the hibatchi meal, it is $3 extra. I did not remember this before, is it new? If you want the rice that comes with the meal, it is plain white rice that is pre-made in the back -- it will not be cooked on the grill at your table. This was surprising to me, as their hibatchi dinners are quite expensive compared to other hibatchi steakhouses in the area, so for the fried rice to not be included is odd. Kids eat free 3 nights a week. It just so happened that the night we were there was one of those nights. None of us knew this prior to ordering. My nephew, who is 6, was not eating, he had eaten before we came but we thought it'd be fun for him to watch the hibatchi presentation. However, upon seeing a table across from us with noodles, he decided he wanted some, mid-way through the chef cooking our meal. The chef said he would order him noodles and mentioned to us that kids eat free so my nephew would be getting his meal for free. We thought 'great'. Check came at the end of the meal and the waitress charged us $4 for the noodles. We told her that the chef informed us that kids eat free. She explained that my nephew did not order a full meal, and therefore she must charge for the noodles. So she needed him to order MORE food, in order to get the buttered noodles for free? Despite arguing with her, she refused to take it off. Next is the Birthday celebration. If you've been here before, then you've seen the big deal they make when it's your birthday. One of the chef's comes out from the kitchen and sings to you, they flash the lights, have sparklers, take your photo, and deliver you a cake. For my sister's birthday, they stuck a candle in her boyfriend's ice cream and sat it down in front of her. No celebration at all. Was this because we used a groupon, we get the downgraded version? It wasn't as if they stopped doing the big celebrations, as we sat and watched their performance for a birthday at the table across from us. It was very disappointing. The manager came over at the end and asked us how everything was. We made a comment about not getting the big bday celebration for my sister's birthday, and he just looked at us and smiled and walked away. He either did not hear our comment, or pretended not to hear it. We all decided that we will find a new place to celebrate from now on. Per couple, the checks came to $60 (and then $30 after the groupon was reduced). This was for chicken or steak hibatchi dinners, with fried rice, and drinks (non-alcoholic).

Saw an heard a lot of mixed reviews about this place and was a bit skeptical about dining here. I have to say the food was great, perfect portion sizes contrary to other reviews we saw. Service was quick and very friendly. Kobe beef sliders were great and the three rolls were a good size. Beautiful atmosphere. We will be back.

I was so pleased with this place ! I came here with my close college friend and her family on her 25th birthday this past Saturday. This restaurant was very spacious and the décor was beautiful. While we waited for the rest of our party, we took a seat at the bar and chatted with the bartender who was very helpful and friendly. She informed us that is was still happy hour which was nice considering it was a Saturday and most places only have happy hour during the week. $ 4 wines and cocktails ! I think so. I ordered an apple martini which was very tasty and we shared some chips served with spicy wasabi mayo which was surprisingly delicious and I am not a fan of mayo. When they arrived we were promptly seated and our chef made the experience very enjoyable. He was so funny ! I ordered the NY strip steak and chicken breast with fried rice. The steak was delicious ! The chicken could have been a bit more seasoned however the sauces made it edible. It was also a nice touch that soup and a scoop of ice cream is included with your meal. Most of the other hibachi places I've been do not offer, salad, soup, veggies, rice, your meats and a scoop of ice cream with your meal, this was such a great value for the price ! The only gripe I have is the upcharge for fried rice, only white rice is included with your meal and there's a 2.99 charge for fried and 3.99 charged for chicken or shrimp fried rice. Overall this place was great, I'll be back !

Exceptional quality food, atmosphere and service. Although the hibachi cooking "show" was pretty standard it's a great value overall. I enjoyed steak and lobster, my wife had scallops. Both were perfectly cooked hibachi style with fresh vegetables in front of us and each meal included tasty soup, salad, rice, and ice cream. The freshness and quality of everything was impressive. We'll be back - especially on Friday nights when they have a great guitar player in the lounge

I visited Arirang yesterday and overall, I was perplexed. Our reservation for a relatively large group (12) was set for 5:15, yet there we waited for another half hour until we were even seated. It seemed to me that their wait staff was unable to handle a group of our size even though hibachi is generally considered a group activity. All of our drinks and appetizers came out sporadically, usually with all but one person receiving their item at once and the last person having to wait another 5 minutes for the server to show up again. The food was great, however. I ordered the chicken yaki soba and all aspects of the meal were delicious. Our hibachi chef was entertaining with the typical hibachi antics but not too theatrical so as to distract you from your meal. I almost died when I saw the bill. $77 for two! It seems like everything costs extra at this place; the extra charge for fried rice is completely ludicrous and nearly 10 dollars a glass for cheap house wine and bottom shelf sangria really add up. I would get Arirang if I was able to get it to go, but otherwise I won't be back.

However, the food was really salty, especially the fried rice. Despite that though, a good time was had by my almost 3 year old, so I can't complain. Oh, and kids ate for free, so that was nice too! (I think it's only on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights that kids eat for free - call restaurant to confirm this tho.)

We've been here thrice for Hibachi dinner. The Hibachi experience is interactive and funny like all other places. Most of the wait staff and chefs are friendly and the Hibachi is ok. In the grand scheme of things, we can't find anything in particular that would set this place a cut above the rest of the Americanized Hibachi places that are scattered around the tri-state area. Oh and before we forget, they have a signature tradition of celebrating birthdays. For the mothers celebrating their birthdays here, they hold the woman's hands up in the air and sway from side to side singing "Mamasan it's your birthday!!". Now if you who are a bit familiar with Japanese culture, you would concur that the word "Mamasan" is considered derogatory because it's used in context with the woman running geisha houses. The correct word would be "Okasan" but it appears that the chain hasn't done its home work and continues to commit this faux pas everyday lol.

We've been here a few times but our visit today was excellent. We knew ahead of time that making a reservation on Open Table is only basically call ahead seating. However, going on a Thursday, it wasn't at all crowded and we were seated immediately. The sever was excellent, very personable and attentive. The chef was great as well, food tasted good and we got a lot!! We were celebrating my son's birthday and when we mentioned it, they did disclose that for $15 we could order a cake. It was a very good ice cream cake and worth it for us. While the food has always been good, sometimes service or staff was lacking when we went at a "peak" time (Friday or Saturday) so I'd recommend going off-peak for a great experience.

Sushi was super fresh - delicious. Only lose a star from me b/c I made a reservation via Open Table and they treated it like a "call ahead." So, when we all arrived at the restaurant they told me we would be seated within a 1/2 hour. Reservations should not be treated the same as "call a heads." Otherwise, everything was fantastic.

I have not actually had their hibachi, just have eaten in their sushi dining room. The sushi is decent, what you would generally expect at a place like this. Their fried rice is really good though - they add sake to it when cooking which makes the rice a little sweet, a nice contrast to the salty, savoryness of the soy sauce.

This place was nice. I'd eat here again. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is great. The ambiance is nice and the restaurant is very beautiful The food is okay, it's not the best hibachi I ever had but its nowhere near the worst. My con was that it was a little salty; I would've liked to taste the herbs and veggies in the food more. They did have a really great ginger dipping sauce and the soup/salad taste very good. I opted for the green tea ice cream and it had a nice taste. The chef was really nice too. I was a little sad b/c we told them it was my b-day and I didn't get any special complimentary item from the restaurant. (not that it's a must, but it would've been nice) They do get 5 starts for my strawberry virgin daiquiri. It was delicious!!! I almost drank the cup, and the presentation of the drink was reeeally nice.

This review is based in a combination of food and service. The prices here can be a little bit higher than cheaper places as my wife and I spent about $71 before tip for dinner w/appetizer and a drink each. The food was fantastic. Everything was so tasty and Mark our Chef was so much fun. He made the night with his jokes, his free saki squirts and tricks. I would recommend as my wide and I are avid habachi fans and this one of our new favorites.

Update to my original: I really wanted to like this place, but I just can't! The sushi was still subpar and way overpriced; it didn't have much in the way of flavor and was really just blah. The service is obnoxiously slow (think 15 minutes for drinks), the place is the loudest restaurant I've ever been in, and perhaps the most bothersome part of the entire meal was being sat next to the birthday gong which rang at least 10 times during our meal. A hibachi meal for three took almost two hours from start to finish, which is ridiculous. We gave it a shot a second time and were sorely disappointed again. Arirang, you fail yet again.

This place has the best happy hour in Langhorne. I have never sat in the hibachi area. I'll just go for the happy hour and sit at the bar. They have awesome cheap drink specials and some really nice small rolls etc for $3-5. You really can't beat it. The bartender Bob is one of the most friendly bartenders I've ever had. Their rolls are very fresh and the food is high quality.

Salty-rang anyone? A good friend of mine, and fellow Yelper, warned me to avoid Arirang. I always listen to her recommendations, but after being constantly told by a co-worker how "amazing" it is, I decided to give it a shot. I went at 7:30 on a Saturday with three other people and we were seated right away, which was great. My group of 4 decided to order 2 chicken & steak combos and pay the $4.25 share charge for each entree. We were all disappointed to see that both noddles and fried rice were an upcharge. We each ordered a side noddles for $2.99, but decided to pass on the fried rice. While we waited for our chef we ate our soup and salad. I didn't care too much for the soup, but the salad with ginger dressing was enjoyable. Once our chef came out he made the noddles first. My group were the only ones at the table to order noddles. We all ate them and, BAM! , hello salt! After just one bite we all looked at each other and you could tell we were all thinking the same thing. The rest of the meal was just as disappointing and salty, with a slight exception for the veggies. I've never been one to complain about salt, but WOW! This was disgusting! I also should mention how the chicken was so dry it was almost hard to chew and the slices of steak were extremely fatty, although the chef did cut off a lot of it. I have no desire to go there again. It was very overpriced, especially for the quality of the food. We actually had to go and get Shamrock shakes after the meal to get the taste of salt out of our mouths.

Ugh. I met two of my wonderful friends here. I wanted to go to Tijuana Flats but they both informed me they don't like Mexican (how is that POSSIBLE??) but they'd both been to Arirang before and loved it so we went here. I'm always up for Asian so I was excited since there were two raves. First of all, the atmosphere was really nice. Dark woods, lots of reds, bamboo shoots. I liked that a lot. However, the food? Not so much. I started with the traditional soup of broth, mushrooms and onions. It was very good. Loaded with mushrooms, not too salty, a classic that's hard to screw up. Next, we split the rock shrimp tempura. It was all right ... not very spicy and not NEARLY as good as the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill. I don't usually compare dishes but they're trying to do the exact same thing and Arirang just didn't pull it off. The batter was falling off, the sauce was tangy but not flavorful. Just, not a good effort. For dinner I had a shrimp tempura roll and an exotic roll (peppered tuna and avocado with spicy tuna and tempura flakes on top). Sounds awesome, right? No. The peppered tuna was just ... off. I've had peppered tuna before and it's been amazing but this one just wasn't flavorful. The spicy tuna had a whipped consistency, not chunky at all. It just wasn't good. The shrimp tempura roll was all right but again, it's a classic that's hard to screw up. I would perhaps go here again and try the hibachi or one of the entrees but I would steer clear of sushi. With so many other options in the area this place needs to pick it up.

My SO and I have been to this Arirang location about a dozen times. We've almost always had good service and chefs. Two particular favorites of ours are Leah (the only female chef I've seen at any hibachi place) and Mark ("too much sake!"). I definitely recommend requesting Mark if you're looking for an entertaining evening - he's a crazy and lovable chef, and truly unforgettable. Speaking of unforgettable, let's talk about their fried cheesecake. Oh. My. God. It is, hands down, one of the best desserts I've ever had. It's an entire slice of cheesecake fried in tempura batter. The crispy outside is nice and warm, and the cheesecake inside is still cool and creamy. Every time I go there I end up talking about it with our fellow table members, and without fail at least two or three other people order it. (The place should give me a referral fee!) As for the food itself, it is quite good. I do wish the fried rice was included in the standard hibachi price, and not extra, which is one of the reasons why I can't give the place five stars. That said, the fried rice is delicious. The ginger salad dressing is really tasty, and I'm not really a fan of ginger, so that's saying a lot. I haven't tried the other dressing, but I've often heard others complimenting that as well. The soup is good - no better or worse than what most hibachi places offer. Overall, my SO and I enjoy coming out to Arirang for special occasions, and I really love going there for dessert. It's a little pricey, but we are signed up for their frequent diners card, so we typically get coupons that make it more affordable.

The first time I ate at Arirang was for Hibachi --- and I haven't been back until last week, with a Groupon. I'm not sure what that says about Arirang - except maybe that there are so many great places around for sushi, that you've really got to be exceptional to keep folks coming back exclusively. I'm not quite sure they have it. My friends and I opted for the Intrepid Boat. That was the plan when we agreed to buy the Groupon. Give us that Boat. ...only when we ordered said 'boat' -- it came out on a large white plate. FAIL, d****t! The Boat is part of the whole silly experience of ordering a giant pile of sushi & sashimi. The offense of our order arriving sans-boat aside, the Intrepid consisted of 5 rolls, 14 pieces sushi, 21 pieces of sashimi with soup and salad for 3 people. There were 4 of us. Our waiter was pretty cool to offer just throwing another set of soup & salad our way -- but we were fine, as one in our group isn't so big on either. I couldn't quite identify the rolls that we were given -- they were decent, but nothing disappeared any faster off the plate than anything else. It was all very fresh, as was the miso soup (the salad was fresh, but their ginger dressing was a little bland.) Their red bean ice cream is probably the best in the area -- which scores them many points in the book of one of our diners. In the end, Arirang is definitely a cool place - the atmosphere is different. The place is BIG. They advertise that they are a Modern Asian Tavern - which apparently means that having a country band perform there on a Friday night is okay... it just has that mass produced chain sort of feel that kind of pales in comparison to places where you've gotta take off your shoes and slide into a private room with a low table. If you want to indulge - absolutely grab the next Groupon (I've seen it pop up a few times since we bought ours!) pick up your chopsticks and dig in. If you'd like to supply your own bottle of wine and slide across the floor in your socks - head to Tako on Galloway Road!

I've had both Arirang's hibachi and sushi dinner, and although they're two very different experiences, neither have disappointed. Their food melts in your mouth and everything is freshly prepared, yet one would certainly expect top-notch flavors, because Arirang's prices can empty a person's pockets out. Two helpings of salad, one Rock Shrimp appetizer, and a sushi/sashimi platter down and my check was roughly $45. I only had to pay $10, since I had a groupon for $35 off, but would a broke college-grad like myself ever go there without said groupon? As much as I'd like to, I just don't see it happening more than twice a year. Yet, if I did decide to splurge, Arirang would leave me well-satisfied, since their service, ambiance, and food all make for a great experience. The food is very good here-the Exotic Roll is amazing and the Tuna Pizza a solid winner. The Hibachi section is only fair, but still a nice option-but this place has a huge footprint-they are a great bar, with tasty well made exotic drinks, a sushi place with great "rolls", a dinner spot with menu or hibachi options, and now have live music on Fridays...very impressive. The music is great, the food too, and I hope this place stays around and prospers for a long, long time.

Horrible experience and we didn't even get a table! Decided to go for dinner with a group of 4 adults and some kids. When 2 of us walked in with a 5 year old and a 4 week old baby we were told that we could not be seated until the rest of our party had arrived. We stated that we'd like to order some sushi while we waited. They told us that we had to go sit in the bar. We had children with us so the bar was not the place for us. Well they had a couple booth tables in the bar area so we sat there and ordered some sushi while we waited. About 20 minutes into our waiting period the hostess comes up to us and asks if the rest of our party had arrived, when we said they would be there in a couple minutes they told us there was now a 45 minute wait and we couldn't be out on the list until the entire party had arrived! It's one thing to not seat people until the entire party arrives but to not put us on the list when we had an infant with us is just ridiculous!

The first time I was here back last year, we used a $15 for $30 groupon for sushi. Since the deal is decent and the food is okay, I bought the deal again. Again, we ordered 4 special rolls, ate, and gave the groupon to our waiter when he arrived. However, he informed us that the deal was only for entrees and not sushi. It does say so on the fine print, so there was nothing I can really argue with. This was a disappointment since the groupon was valid for sushi last time. The bill came out to be a little over $50 and almost $60 including tips. I would have been okay paying that price, but the special rolls were the size of a regular roll anywhere else. The rice was a bit bland and everything was just mediocre. I would say the waiter was speedy and attentive, but everything else was just meh.

I went here on a Monday night with my husband and our friend. Since we went here on a recommendation, we had high expectations. Worried that it might be busy, we called ahead. I was told they did not take reservations but had 'call ahead seating' so I gave our name and asked for the 7:00 time slot. We got there at 6:45 and were told it was a 35 minute wait. We sat at the bar for a while; there was only one tender but clearly they needed two. We were seated around 7:20. We were seated at a full table with two other parties. I noticed an abundance of kids around -- then realized it was a kids eat free night. Looking at the menu prices, I soon realized how they could afford to feed kids for free. Menu prices are 25-40% higher than the hibachi competition--so for a kid-free party like ours, it was no deal. The food itself was decent, but the dinner was timed horribly. After two hours we were served drinks and salads, then finally our appetizer. Our entire table finally asked to speak to the manager and issued a complaint. Ten minutes later our chef came out and gave a good performance, but he seemed a bit stressed and overworked--as did all of the staff. Clearly they did not have enough people working there. In total, we were at the restaurant for four hours. That is an unacceptable time frame, especially with 'call ahead seating.' The manager and staff at last did issue an apology after we pointed out that another table that was seated after us happened to be eating before we even had salads. This place only earns a second star because the staff realized that they screwed up. While they didn't actually take responsibility (just offered 'we're busy' excuses), they did at least apologize and comp half the meal for each table. I did like that there is a salad dressing choice (lemon or creamy ginger). Didn't like that you have to pay extra for fried rice, which should be a hibachi staple. It was nice that the meal included soup, white rice (though...they forgot to serve mine), and ice cream dessert. Food quality was good--no real complaints except my friend said that the tempura on his sushi dish was so overwhelming he tasted nothing else. If you don't have kids, it's kind of pointless to go here on a kids eat free night because the place is jam-packed with families and you won't get a table. When you finally do get one, you're stuck at a table with some whiny five-year-olds that have had to wait several hours more than expected for a dinner. Chef was friendly with the kids; staff were generally nice--just altogether clueless. I like that the chef actually asked if anyone at the table had allergies instead of just tossing shrimp into people's mouths. Not worth the money, especially if you are traveling from Philly or Jersey. In Philly: Try "Hibachi" on Columbus Blvd near Dave & Buster's. In Jersey: Try Yama in Lumberton. No hibachi tables, but friendly, fast service.

I ended up in this place 'cuz they had a $50 off at groupon.com . Around 5:30pm on a Monday, we didn't experince the long wait time to get seated and to get our food. When you get in, left is the private dining, right is hibachi, and middle is the bar area (where the loud music is at). I only tried the private dining and the service is great!! We had sushi/sashimi + crab cake + flounder were good. Should be a 5 star because I had $50 off + no waiting. But price is up there and definitely not on my top 10 list for sushi. That's why it's a 4. I still have another $50 off, I'll try the hibachi.

Stopped by on a Friday night with no wait. Service was really good... the hostess was so sweet and our waitress was always smiling, which in today's environment, was refreshing. We even had a visit from the Manager. We ordered the special for an appetizer... some cooked chicken dish that you wrap in lettuce...the name escapes me. There was so much of it, I didn't think I'd be able to eat dinner. Ordered a typical sushi dinner and husband ordered a cooked butterfly shrimp dish. He was iffy on his as it was cooked with some coconut infused sauce...different, but ok. Mine was typical sushi...nothing special...but the sashimi (without rice) was really good. Their tuna was very fresh and pink. Overall, I would come here again, but not over some of the other sushi places I've been to (Sakura in Bensalem and Sagami in Collingswood, NJ). Also, ate in the "tavern" side as the Hibachi side was really noisy. Don't recommend the other side unless you are with a group.

This Arirang location is the 5th in an eighteen year time span and they claim to be the #1. Steakhouse and Sushi Bar. I disagree. It is three weeks old and it is a beautiful building, inside and out. A-1 Japanese Steakhouse is a hop, skip and a jump away from them and two stars better. We were heading to Millers Langhorne Alehouse and because of the Eagles game in the playoffs, all tables were taken and folks were standing around waiting to slip in to any vacant spots, so we gave up and noticed this new restaurant across the street. I can honestly say, that I normally have a wonderful experience, anytime I try Hibachi and Sushi, but, I left very un-impressed. We had ordered and received our cocktails and had pre ordered our appetizers of shrimp dumplings, California roll, shrimp & veggie tempura and a Philly roll of smoked salmon and cream cheese. Only one other Hibachi grill had been seated and five of them had left. They asked us if we would mind moving to the first table and we thought, well, won't we look like an ass if we don't, so we smiled and said sure, no problem! They have eight large, double hibachi tables and each holds eighteen seats or nine at each single grill. They have a separate bar area with tables for folks that want sushi alone or to order off the menu. The menu will blow your mind. So many choices for sushi, appetizers, combo's, entrees, salads, soups and Hibachi combinations. It is so extensive, but they do not execute what you have ordered very well. It was the worst shrimp fried rice I have ever had. Nothing was Hot! The shrimp was half cooked and some of you may have loved this, but no one at our table did. The vegetables were served almost raw and he threw half of it away and never added the mushrooms and was upset when I asked why not and turned them on the grill once. Their skills are the worst I have ever seen for entertaining the guests, he dropped every egg and he knew he did and dug out the shells. For our entrees I had filet and shrimp and my hubby had sirloin. I had mine medium rare and he had his rare. Those just kissed the grill and his was okay and mine shall be cooked more tomorrow! Needless to say, we left over $100.00 poorer and we were not at all thrilled! Airang, you are not #1 and maybe a bit confused since Arirang means beautiful deer in Korean and Hibachi is Japanese.

Where to start, well at 7:30 on a friday night we got seated right away. That was good for us, usually restaurants are at least a 10 minute wait on a friday night, a little revealing. Sat down at the hibachi and started looking at the vast menu. I was really surprised they charged extra for fried rice. Saw the rock shrimp appetizer, a weakness, so I ordered that. Never would order that again. It was swimming in the sauce, not just a coating but enough sauce for 2 additional orders. For some reason there were unattached fried shrimp tails in with the shrimp that I had to pick out to avoid eating. I asked the waiter if this is normal, to which he replied yes. They didn't do a good job of peeling the so called rock shrimp, the batter should be crunchy not the shrimp. I was questioning whether they served me rock shrimp and not just regular u-20s. The first round of drinks were perfect, I had gotten a mai tai that tasted just right. The second one was a whole different story, it was so strong, I wasn't quite sure if they even added the juice to it. The main course tasted good, wasn't anything special, nothing that would make me go back there over the A1 japanese steak house down the street. The food at A1 is better, there's no upcharge for fried rice, and the tapenyaki chefs are more entertaining.

Sat in the regular dining area with a friend, ordered the Miso Sea Bass. I think the fish was the size of a 2 year olds hand. Hello I'm paying 20 bucks for how much food? Oh okay, I thought so.... Dining in for 2 people our bill came out to be way more expensive than we expected. I rather go waste my money on something that's worth it. When you dine in the hibachi, like all places they like to fill up the table before they start grilling your food. BUT Arirang holds back a bit...they keep asking you if you want drinks or appetizers as if they want you to buy their shit and not serve you the food that you intended to come for. They also charge you for fried rice...it's not included....and the prices are not that great. Don't waste your time here. There's an A1 if you want hibatchi and for those of you that think their sushi is fantastic, you can go to the mall and get the same quality.

Consistently good and well-rounded. From traditional hibachi to innovative, contemporary Japanese cuisine, I have yet to have a clunker of a meal at Arirang. And for a small, regional chain the look of the place is absolutely beautiful. My friend and I skipped the hibachi tables to eat in the tavern and loved it. Simple Japanese bar menu with some really cool menu selections. I ordered Shrimp Udon in a creamy, coconut broth that was filled with shrimp with salad and soup to boot. More than fair price, for a great meal. Definitely try it.

My family loves it here. Great for kids -- interactive and not quiet. Also, they have GLUTEN FREE soy sauce and were very accomadating for my food allergies. My food allergies are not severe, but we called ahead and they had gluten free soy sauce ready for me and the chef cooked all my food (even separated the fried rice) for me. I went to this restaurant with my friend on a Sunday night and got seated at a hibatchi table immediately. The hibatchi selection is a little slim, but covers the basics-steak, chicken, fish, seafood. The chef was very talented and entertaining, and very funny. We had a great time! I liked that they made sure of any food allergies before cooking, and the prices were pretty standard compared to the other hibatchi restaurants I've been to in this area. Didn't get a chance to taste the sushi (the waiter forgot to bring out our appetizer, but that's ok, he was extremely busy!) but the hibatchi cooked portion was very good...not as good as Mt. Fuji, but still good. Also the hibatchi dinner included a lot of food--soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, white rice, your main meal, and then ice cream for dessert. *Hint* The green tea ice cream is soo good! You definitely won't leave hungry. I think this would be a great place to bring a handful of friends or have a party since the tables seat so many people and the chefs like for you to participate and have fun.

Nice decor, nice atmosphere, very slow service, way overpriced, small portions. There were three of us, one order of sushi, a seafood dish in broth, and a pasta dish with a side of fried rice. The sushi rolls were tiny, the seafood dish was MAYBE a 1.5 cups of seafood for $22.00, and $1.75 for 3 pieces of shrimp added to a small bowl of fried rice. It was tasty, but definitely a poor value. The server was slow, and seemed to be taking his time hoping we would drink more. Anything we needed I had to flag down the server instead of him occasionally checking on us. Easy to find other better places.

I was craving sushi one of the nights while visiting Philadelphia suburbs, and discovered this place on Yelp. With it being the only place around, I circumspectly decided to try with the knowledge of the average three star rating. Upon arrival, the interior decor was unbelievably lavish and perfectly lit with hues of red. It seemed out of place in the suburbs of Philly; its decor resembles an upscale place one would come across in Manhattan New York. Traveling solo, I decided to dine at the bar, after I was pleasantly greeted by the hostess. The bartender's professionalism and her attentiveness was unfortunately the best part of my dining experience. I started with a drink called Arirang Special, which incorporates rum, blue curaçao and pineapple juice. It was quite tasty and at $4, it was definitely gold. Excited about sushi, I ordered the safe bets, the Cucumber Roll ($3.29) and the Rainbow Roll ($9.99), to start with. Typically, this would be just about right for me for a light dinner. When the rolls arrived, I was puzzled and disappointed by both roll sizes. Unbelievably, the Rainbow Roll is typically larger than any cucumber roll, I've consumed anywhere, but not here. The diameter of both rolls was a tad larger than my thumb. The taste did not compensate either; the cucumber roll's seaweed was dry and difficult to chew through and the rainbow roll tasted like mayonnaise and not much else. I finished both and decided to get one more roll, as I was still hungry. I ordered the Sashimi Roll ($11.99); salmon, avocado and masago wrapped with tuna. The service was expedient and the roll arrived in matter of minutes. Again, bland tasting pieces the size of previous rolls. I figured that with the roll wrapped with tuna, it would have been decent size. At this point I was irritated from hunger and lack of taste, and I voiced this to the polite bartender. She fetched the manager without my request. He was professional about the situation and removed the Sashimi roll off my bill. Stubborn and on a mission to be fed, I decided to try something else off of their menu, which includes assortment of hibachi and salads. I decided to try their Calamari Salad with wasabi vinaigrette dressing. It mostly remedied the situation. Not only was it properly sized, it had an assortment of fresh and crispy greens, most of which I can't name. The dressing had a perfect balance of oil and vinaigrette. The calamari was equally splendid, as it was lightly battered and deep fired to light perfection. In summary, the sushi rolls were a disappointment, but the professionalism in which the situation was handled was superb. I will most likely return and try their hibachi and nigiri. I took a peek at other's dishes and they were remarkably well prepared and in proper portions. I will definitely skip the roll selection all together.

Excellent service! Food was fantastic! Go hungry portions are pretty large. I had the hibachi steak and scallops it was great. They have a kids menu and those portions are huge too. They had some live music in the dining area. I never give places a 5 stars but this place deserves it.

I was so pleased with this place ! I came here with my close college friend and her family on her 25th birthday this past Saturday. This restaurant was very spacious and the décor was beautiful. While we waited for the rest of our party, we took a seat at the bar and chatted with the bartender who was very helpful and friendly. She informed us that is was still happy hour which was nice considering it was a Saturday and most places only have happy hour during the week. $ 4 wines and cocktails ! I think so. I ordered an apple martini which was very tasty and we shared some chips served with spicy wasabi mayo which was surprisingly delicious and I am not a fan of mayo. When they arrived we were promptly seated and our chef made the experience very enjoyable. He was so funny ! I ordered the NY strip steak and chicken breast with fried rice. The steak was delicious ! The chicken could have been a bit more seasoned however the sauces made it edible. It was also a nice touch that soup and a scoop of ice cream is included with your meal. Most of the other hibachi places I've been do not offer, salad, soup, veggies, rice, your meats and a scoop of ice cream with your meal, this was such a great value for the price ! The only gripe I have is the upcharge for fried rice, only white rice is included with your meal and there's a 2.99 charge for fried and 3.99 charged for chicken or shrimp fried rice. Overall this place was great, I'll be back !

Exceptional quality food, atmosphere and service. Although the hibachi cooking "show" was pretty standard it's a great value overall. I enjoyed steak and lobster, my wife had scallops. Both were perfectly cooked hibachi style with fresh vegetables in front of us and each meal included tasty soup, salad, rice, and ice cream. The freshness and quality of everything was impressive. We'll be back - especially on Friday nights when they have a great guitar player in the lounge

I visited Arirang yesterday and overall, I was perplexed. Our reservation for a relatively large group (12) was set for 5:15, yet there we waited for another half hour until we were even seated. It seemed to me that their wait staff was unable to handle a group of our size even though hibachi is generally considered a group activity. All of our drinks and appetizers came out sporadically, usually with all but one person receiving their item at once and the last person having to wait another 5 minutes for the server to show up again. The food was great, however. I ordered the chicken yaki soba and all aspects of the meal were delicious. Our hibachi chef was entertaining with the typical hibachi antics but not too theatrical so as to distract you from your meal. I almost died when I saw the bill. $77 for two! It seems like everything costs extra at this place; the extra charge for fried rice is completely ludicrous and nearly 10 dollars a glass for cheap house wine and bottom shelf sangria really add up. I would get Arirang if I was able to get it to go, but otherwise I won't be back.

Went there on a Tuesday night with friends and 3 kids amongst us. The service was very good. Everyone was friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. However, the food was really salty, especially the fried rice. Despite that though, a good time was had by my almost 3 year old, so I can't complain. Oh, and kids ate for free, so that was nice too! (I think it's only on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights that kids eat for free - call restaurant to confirm this tho.)

We've been here thrice for Hibachi dinner. The Hibachi experience is interactive and funny like all other places. Most of the wait staff and chefs are friendly and the Hibachi is ok. In the grand scheme of things, we can't find anything in particular that would set this place a cut above the rest of the Americanized Hibachi places that are scattered around the tri-state area. Oh and before we forget, they have a signature tradition of celebrating birthdays. For the mothers celebrating their birthdays here, they hold the woman's hands up in the air and sway from side to side singing "Mamasan it's your birthday!!". Now if you who are a bit familiar with Japanese culture, you would concur that the word "Mamasan" is considered derogatory because it's used in context with the woman running geisha houses. The correct word would be "Okasan" but it appears that the chain hasn't done its home work and continues to commit this faux pas everyday lol.

We've been here a few times but our visit today was excellent. We knew ahead of time that making a reservation on Open Table is only basically call ahead seating. However, going on a Thursday, it wasn't at all crowded and we were seated immediately. The sever was excellent, very personable and attentive. The chef was great as well, food tasted good and we got a lot!! We were celebrating my son's birthday and when we mentioned it, they did disclose that for $15 we could order a cake. It was a very good ice cream cake and worth it for us. While the food has always been good, sometimes service or staff was lacking when we went at a "peak" time (Friday or Saturday) so I'd recommend going off-peak for a great experience.

Gone here at least ten times. Have never had hibachi we've always sat in the restaurant section. I was there the same time as Sean P and Donna W seated near them. We had the same waiter Tai. I had an issue with my soup manager fixed immediately. I also observed him go over to the table with Donna W. She gave him the run around stating the other girls wanted to complain. They weren't present so the extremely busy manager left. My sushi was fantastic as always. Service was slower than a weeknight however it was a Friday night. Trust a veteran yelper as myself over a couple recent 1 review disgruntled yelpers.

We have been going here for several years now and I have to say that the only thing that keeps us going back is Jerry. Jerry is a server in the tavern part of the restaurant and he's awesome. This time last year we started to get horrible service - messed up orders, cold (hot) tea, and slow service so we stopped going. Then we came back cause of a coupon and Jerry was there and everything was wonderful again. Tonight however we went and had another server and it was horrible. We waited 30 minutes between ordering and receiving our dinner ... and that arrived before our appetizer! The server didn't know the menu and didn't ask us questions that Jerry always asks (like what kind of soy sauce we wanted). Then when we went to pay he took our coupon out of the payment folder and ignored it - when we told him we had a coupon he asked us for it ... even though he had it and had taken it out. So, we will from now on call before going and ask if Jerry is working. If so, we'll come in ... if not ... there are other options with better service in the area.

I went here for hibachi last night, I ordered the filet mignon and chicken, the filet was great, very tender and juicy, but the chicken was somewhat dry. They gave me so little meat too, other places gave me way more so I was not used to the smaller portion. The fried rice was okay, nothing special, but what was surprising was that they charge like $3 for fried rice; this is ridiculous because other places include fried rice with the hibachi. I rather take the fried rice over the miso soup any day for hibachi. ALSO.... I didn't realized ice cream was included in the hibachi, they didn't even let us know; I really thought it was extra until I looked up their menu online....This place is expensive, save your money and go somewhere else.

Love this place, we tried several sushi rolls and the tuna pizza. The tuna pizza was so good!! Everything was fresh. We came here during happy hour and they had an entertainer singing an playing the guitar. Which is great as this is not so common in this area. No complaints with the food but the front wait staff is terrible. We made reservations well in advance and still had to wait 35 minutes just to be seated. This is unacceptable, especially with 2 young children under the age of 6. After two inquiries about the wait we were angrily told by the hostess that it is typical to wait at least 30 minutes, even with a reservation. Not too sure what the point of a reservation was. It was another 50 minutes before our chef came out. Thankfully the waiter, Wing, was very friendly and our chef, Marco, was entertaining as well.

I've had both Arirang's hibachi and sushi dinner, and although they're two very different experiences, neither have disappointed. Their food melts in your mouth and everything is freshly prepared, yet one would certainly expect top-notch flavors, because Arirang's prices can empty a person's pockets out. Two helpings of salad, one Rock Shrimp appetizer, and a sushi/sashimi platter down and my check was roughly $45. I only had to pay $10, since I had a groupon for $35 off, but would a broke college-grad like myself ever go there without said groupon? As much as I'd like to, I just don't see it happening more than twice a year. Yet, if I did decide to splurge, Arirang would leave me well-satisfied, since their service, ambiance, and food all make for a great experience. I have not actually had their hibachi, just have eaten in their sushi dining room. The sushi is decent, what you would generally expect at a place like this. Their fried rice is really good though - they add sake to it when cooking which makes the rice a little sweet, a nice contrast to the salty, savoryness of the soy sauce.

Second time here after a day at sesame place and the second good experience we've had. The restaurant sears you promptly and the staff is friendly and serves you quickly. The chefs here are some of the most entertaining that I have had in 25 years if enjoying Japanese hibachi cooking. All the food is fresh and good including the sushi. Salty-rang anyone? A good friend of mine, and fellow Yelper, warned me to avoid Arirang. I always listen to her recommendations, but after being constantly told by a co-worker how "amazing" it is, I decided to give it a shot. I went at 7:30 on a Saturday with three other people and we were seated right away, which was great. My group of 4 decided to order 2 chicken & steak combos and pay the $4.25 share charge for each entree. We were all disappointed to see that both noddles and fried rice were an upcharge. We each ordered a side noddles for $2.99, but decided to pass on the fried rice. While we waited for our chef we ate our soup and salad. I didn't care too much for the soup, but the salad with ginger dressing was enjoyable. Once our chef came out he made the noddles first. My group were the only ones at the table to order noddles. We all ate them and, BAM! , hello salt! After just one bite we all looked at each other and you could tell we were all thinking the same thing. The rest of the meal was just as disappointing and salty, with a slight exception for the veggies. I've never been one to complain about salt, but WOW! This was disgusting! I also should mention how the chicken was so dry it was almost hard to chew and the slices of steak were extremely fatty, although the chef did cut off a lot of it. I have no desire to go there again. It was very overpriced, especially for the quality of the food. We actually had to go and get Shamrock shakes after the meal to get the taste of salt out of our mouths.

Horrible experience and we didn't even get a table! Decided to go for dinner with a group of 4 adults and some kids. When 2 of us walked in with a 5 year old and a 4 week old baby we were told that we could not be seated until the rest of our party had arrived. We stated that we'd like to order some sushi while we waited. They told us that we had to go sit in the bar. We had children with us so the bar was not the place for us. Well they had a couple booth tables in the bar area so we sat there and ordered some sushi while we waited. About 20 minutes into our waiting period the hostess comes up to us and asks if the rest of our party had arrived, when we said they would be there in a couple minutes they told us there was now a 45 minute wait and we couldn't be out on the list until the entire party had arrived! It's one thing to not seat people until the entire party arrives but to not put us on the list when we had an infant with us is just ridiculous!

The first time I was here back last year, we used a $15 for $30 groupon for sushi. Since the deal is decent and the food is okay, I bought the deal again. Again, we ordered 4 special rolls, ate, and gave the groupon to our waiter when he arrived. However, he informed us that the deal was only for entrees and not sushi. It does say so on the fine print, so there was nothing I can really argue with. This was a disappointment since the groupon was valid for sushi last time. The bill came out to be a little over $50 and almost $60 including tips. I would have been okay paying that price, but the special rolls were the size of a regular roll anywhere else. The rice was a bit bland and everything was just mediocre. I would say the waiter was speedy and attentive, but everything else was just meh.

I ended up in this place 'cuz they had a $50 off at groupon.com . Around 5:30pm on a Monday, we didn't experince the long wait time to get seated and to get our food. When you get in, left is the private dining, right is hibachi, and middle is the bar area (where the loud music is at). I only tried the private dining and the service is great!! We had sushi/sashimi + crab cake + flounder were good. Should be a 5 star because I had $50 off + no waiting. But price is up there and definitely not on my top 10 list for sushi. That's why it's a 4. I still have another $50 off, I'll try the hibachi.

Ugh. I met two of my wonderful friends here. I wanted to go to Tijuana Flats but they both informed me they don't like Mexican (how is that POSSIBLE??) but they'd both been to Arirang before and loved it so we went here. I'm always up for Asian so I was excited since there were two raves. First of all, the atmosphere was really nice. Dark woods, lots of reds, bamboo shoots. I liked that a lot. However, the food? Not so much. I started with the traditional soup of broth, mushrooms and onions. It was very good. Loaded with mushrooms, not too salty, a classic that's hard to screw up. Next, we split the rock shrimp tempura. It was all right ... not very spicy and not NEARLY as good as the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill. I don't usually compare dishes but they're trying to do the exact same thing and Arirang just didn't pull it off. The batter was falling off, the sauce was tangy but not flavorful. Just, not a good effort. For dinner I had a shrimp tempura roll and an exotic roll (peppered tuna and avocado with spicy tuna and tempura flakes on top). Sounds awesome, right? No. The peppered tuna was just ... off. I've had peppered tuna before and it's been amazing but this one just wasn't flavorful. The spicy tuna had a whipped consistency, not chunky at all. It just wasn't good. The shrimp tempura roll was all right but again, it's a classic that's hard to screw up. I would perhaps go here again and try the hibachi or one of the entrees but I would steer clear of sushi. With so many other options in the area this place needs to pick it up.

The first time I ate at Arirang was for Hibachi --- and I haven't been back until last week, with a Groupon. I'm not sure what that says about Arirang - except maybe that there are so many great places around for sushi, that you've really got to be exceptional to keep folks coming back exclusively. I'm not quite sure they have it. My friends and I opted for the Intrepid Boat. That was the plan when we agreed to buy the Groupon. Give us that Boat. ...only when we ordered said 'boat' -- it came out on a large white plate. FAIL, d****t! The Boat is part of the whole silly experience of ordering a giant pile of sushi & sashimi. The offense of our order arriving sans-boat aside, the Intrepid consisted of 5 rolls, 14 pieces sushi, 21 pieces of sashimi with soup and salad for 3 people. There were 4 of us. Our waiter was pretty cool to offer just throwing another set of soup & salad our way -- but we were fine, as one in our group isn't so big on either. I couldn't quite identify the rolls that we were given -- they were decent, but nothing disappeared any faster off the plate than anything else. It was all very fresh, as was the miso soup (the salad was fresh, but their ginger dressing was a little bland.) Their red bean ice cream is probably the best in the area -- which scores them many points in the book of one of our diners. In the end, Arirang is definitely a cool place - the atmosphere is different. The place is BIG. They advertise that they are a Modern Asian Tavern - which apparently means that having a country band perform there on a Friday night is okay... it just has that mass produced chain sort of feel that kind of pales in comparison to places where you've gotta take off your shoes and slide into a private room with a low table. If you want to indulge - absolutely grab the next Groupon (I've seen it pop up a few times since we bought ours!) pick up your chopsticks and dig in. If you'd like to supply your own bottle of wine and slide across the floor in your socks - head to Tako on Galloway Road!

No... No... No... NEVER AGAIN Wanted to give it another chance, but this is a definite end to the experiment. Thursday, 6 pm, there were only 2 tables occupied in the sushi area, when we were seated. One would think it would take 15 min at most to get the order for two people. We waited for over half an hour. It's is not a typo! The take-out orders were filled before orders for sitting customers. And, again - other tables were already served; we were the only two people still waiting for our sushi. When it finally did arrive, it was so disappointing: bland, tasteless, flat on texture, and simply unappealing from all perspectives. I won't bore you with the lackluster details. I simply know we will not ever return here again.

The sushi here is absolutely horrible. It tastes like the fish was frozen and thawed. There are some side items that come with the sushi meals and they are not exactly rushing to remind or even ask if you want these items. I ordered the kobe sliders appetizer for my son and they charged an extra $3 which was not listed as an extra charge on the menu. My husband and I went to the hibachi before and they charged extra for fried rice. I just feel like this place nickel and dimes the clientele and provides subpar food.

We come here every year for my sister's birthday (about 4 years now). This year, my sister found a groupon online -- $15 for $30 worth of food. We all purchased it. Upon arrival to our table and review of the menu I noticed that the fried rice is not included in the hibatchi meal, it is $3 extra. I did not remember this before, is it new? If you want the rice that comes with the meal, it is plain white rice that is pre-made in the back -- it will not be cooked on the grill at your table. This was surprising to me, as their hibatchi dinners are quite expensive compared to other hibatchi steakhouses in the area, so for the fried rice to not be included is odd. Kids eat free 3 nights a week. It just so happened that the night we were there was one of those nights. None of us knew this prior to ordering. My nephew, who is 6, was not eating, he had eaten before we came but we thought it'd be fun for him to watch the hibatchi presentation. However, upon seeing a table across from us with noodles, he decided he wanted some, mid-way through the chef cooking our meal. The chef said he would order him noodles and mentioned to us that kids eat free so my nephew would be getting his meal for free. We thought 'great'. Check came at the end of the meal and the waitress charged us $4 for the noodles. We told her that the chef informed us that kids eat free. She explained that my nephew did not order a full meal, and therefore she must charge for the noodles. So she needed him to order MORE food, in order to get the buttered noodles for free? Despite arguing with her, she refused to take it off. Next is the Birthday celebration. If you've been here before, then you've seen the big deal they make when it's your birthday. One of the chef's comes out from the kitchen and sings to you, they flash the lights, have sparklers, take your photo, and deliver you a cake. For my sister's birthday, they stuck a candle in her boyfriend's ice cream and sat it down in front of her. No celebration at all. Was this because we used a groupon, we get the downgraded version? It wasn't as if they stopped doing the big celebrations, as we sat and watched their performance for a birthday at the table across from us. It was very disappointing. The manager came over at the end and asked us how everything was. We made a comment about not getting the big bday celebration for my sister's birthday, and he just looked at us and smiled and walked away. He either did not hear our comment, or pretended not to hear it. We all decided that we will find a new place to celebrate from now on. Per couple, the checks came to $60 (and then $30 after the groupon was reduced). This was for chicken or steak hibatchi dinners, with fried rice, and drinks (non-alcoholic).

This place has the best happy hour in Langhorne. I have never sat in the hibachi area. I'll just go for the happy hour and sit at the bar. They have awesome cheap drink specials and some really nice small rolls etc for $3-5. You really can't beat it. The bartender Bob is one of the most friendly bartenders I've ever had. Their rolls are very fresh and the food is high quality.

This review is based in a combination of food and service. The prices here can be a little bit higher than cheaper places as my wife and I spent about $71 before tip for dinner w/appetizer and a drink each. The food was fantastic. Everything was so tasty and Mark our Chef was so much fun. He made the night with his jokes, his free saki squirts and tricks. I would recommend as my wide and I are avid habachi fans and this one of our new favorites.

Update to my original: I really wanted to like this place, but I just can't! The sushi was still subpar and way overpriced; it didn't have much in the way of flavor and was really just blah. The service is obnoxiously slow (think 15 minutes for drinks), the place is the loudest restaurant I've ever been in, and perhaps the most bothersome part of the entire meal was being sat next to the birthday gong which rang at least 10 times during our meal. A hibachi meal for three took almost two hours from start to finish, which is ridiculous. We gave it a shot a second time and were sorely disappointed again. Arirang, you fail yet again.

My SO and I have been to this Arirang location about a dozen times. We've almost always had good service and chefs. Two particular favorites of ours are Leah (the only female chef I've seen at any hibachi place) and Mark ("too much sake!"). I definitely recommend requesting Mark if you're looking for an entertaining evening - he's a crazy and lovable chef, and truly unforgettable. Speaking of unforgettable, let's talk about their fried cheesecake. Oh. My. God. It is, hands down, one of the best desserts I've ever had. It's an entire slice of cheesecake fried in tempura batter. The crispy outside is nice and warm, and the cheesecake inside is still cool and creamy. Every time I go there I end up talking about it with our fellow table members, and without fail at least two or three other people order it. (The place should give me a referral fee!) As for the food itself, it is quite good. I do wish the fried rice was included in the standard hibachi price, and not extra, which is one of the reasons why I can't give the place five stars. That said, the fried rice is delicious. The ginger salad dressing is really tasty, and I'm not really a fan of ginger, so that's saying a lot. I haven't tried the other dressing, but I've often heard others complimenting that as well. The soup is good - no better or worse than what most hibachi places offer. Overall, my SO and I enjoy coming out to Arirang for special occasions, and I really love going there for dessert. It's a little pricey, but we are signed up for their frequent diners card, so we typically get coupons that make it more affordable.

Sat in the regular dining area with a friend, ordered the Miso Sea Bass. I think the fish was the size of a 2 year olds hand. Hello I'm paying 20 bucks for how much food? Oh okay, I thought so.... Dining in for 2 people our bill came out to be way more expensive than we expected. I rather go waste my money on something that's worth it. When you dine in the hibachi, like all places they like to fill up the table before they start grilling your food. BUT Arirang holds back a bit...they keep asking you if you want drinks or appetizers as if they want you to buy their shit and not serve you the food that you intended to come for. They also charge you for fried rice...it's not included....and the prices are not that great. Don't waste your time here. There's an A1 if you want hibatchi and for those of you that think their sushi is fantastic, you can go to the mall and get the same quality.

Consistently good and well-rounded. From traditional hibachi to innovative, contemporary Japanese cuisine, I have yet to have a clunker of a meal at Arirang. And for a small, regional chain the look of the place is absolutely beautiful. My friend and I skipped the hibachi tables to eat in the tavern and loved it. Simple Japanese bar menu with some really cool menu selections. I ordered Shrimp Udon in a creamy, coconut broth that was filled with shrimp with salad and soup to boot. More than fair price, for a great meal. Definitely try it.

My family loves it here. Great for kids -- interactive and not quiet. Also, they have GLUTEN FREE soy sauce and were very accomadating for my food allergies. My food allergies are not severe, but we called ahead and they had gluten free soy sauce ready for me and the chef cooked all my food (even separated the fried rice) for me. Ask for Mark -- he is hilarious and was great with the kids we had with us!

The sushi rolls were tiny, the seafood dish was MAYBE a 1.5 cups of seafood for $22.00, and $1.75 for 3 pieces of shrimp added to a small bowl of fried rice. It was tasty, but definitely a poor value. The server was slow, and seemed to be taking his time hoping we would drink more. Anything we needed I had to flag down the server instead of him occasionally checking on us. Easy to find other better places.

This Arirang location is the 5th in an eighteen year time span and they claim to be the #1. Steakhouse and Sushi Bar. I disagree. It is three weeks old and it is a beautiful building, inside and out. A-1 Japanese Steakhouse is a hop, skip and a jump away from them and two stars better. We were heading to Millers Langhorne Alehouse and because of the Eagles game in the playoffs, all tables were taken and folks were standing around waiting to slip in to any vacant spots, so we gave up and noticed this new restaurant across the street. I can honestly say, that I normally have a wonderful experience, anytime I try Hibachi and Sushi, but, I left very un-impressed. We had ordered and received our cocktails and had pre ordered our appetizers of shrimp dumplings, California roll, shrimp & veggie tempura and a Philly roll of smoked salmon and cream cheese. Only one other Hibachi grill had been seated and five of them had left. They asked us if we would mind moving to the first table and we thought, well, won't we look like an ass if we don't, so we smiled and said sure, no problem! They have eight large, double hibachi tables and each holds eighteen seats or nine at each single grill. They have a separate bar area with tables for folks that want sushi alone or to order off the menu. The menu will blow your mind. So many choices for sushi, appetizers, combo's, entrees, salads, soups and Hibachi combinations. It is so extensive, but they do not execute what you have ordered very well. It was the worst shrimp fried rice I have ever had. Nothing was Hot! The shrimp was half cooked and some of you may have loved this, but no one at our table did. The vegetables were served almost raw and he threw half of it away and never added the mushrooms and was upset when I asked why not and turned them on the grill once. Their skills are the worst I have ever seen for entertaining the guests, he dropped every egg and he knew he did and dug out the shells. For our entrees I had filet and shrimp and my hubby had sirloin. I had mine medium rare and he had his rare. Those just kissed the grill and his was okay and mine shall be cooked more tomorrow! Needless to say, we left over $100.00 poorer and we were not at all thrilled! Airang, you are not #1 and maybe a bit confused since Arirang means beautiful deer in Korean and Hibachi is Japanese.

Where to start, well at 7:30 on a friday night we got seated right away. That was good for us, usually restaurants are at least a 10 minute wait on a friday night, a little revealing. Sat down at the hibachi and started looking at the vast menu. I was really surprised they charged extra for fried rice. Saw the rock shrimp appetizer, a weakness, so I ordered that. Never would order that again. It was swimming in the sauce, not just a coating but enough sauce for 2 additional orders. For some reason there were unattached fried shrimp tails in with the shrimp that I had to pick out to avoid eating. I asked the waiter if this is normal, to which he replied yes. They didn't do a good job of peeling the so called rock shrimp, the batter should be crunchy not the shrimp. I was questioning whether they served me rock shrimp and not just regular u-20s. The first round of drinks were perfect, I had gotten a mai tai that tasted just right. The second one was a whole different story, it was so strong, I wasn't quite sure if they even added the juice to it. The main course tasted good, wasn't anything special, nothing that would make me go back there over the A1 japanese steak house down the street. The food at A1 is better, there's no upcharge for fried rice, and the tapenyaki chefs are more entertaining.

Stopped by on a Friday night with no wait. Service was really good... the hostess was so sweet and our waitress was always smiling, which in today's environment, was refreshing. We even had a visit from the Manager. We ordered the special for an appetizer... some cooked chicken dish that you wrap in lettuce...the name escapes me. There was so much of it, I didn't think I'd be able to eat dinner. Ordered a typical sushi dinner and husband ordered a cooked butterfly shrimp dish. He was iffy on his as it was cooked with some coconut infused sauce...different, but ok. Mine was typical sushi...nothing special...but the sashimi (without rice) was really good. Their tuna was very fresh and pink. Overall, I would come here again, but not over some of the other sushi places I've been to (Sakura in Bensalem and Sagami in Collingswood, NJ). Also, ate in the "tavern" side as the Hibachi side was really noisy. Don't recommend the other side unless you are with a group.

I went here on a Monday night with my husband and our friend. Since we went here on a recommendation, we had high expectations. Worried that it might be busy, we called ahead. I was told they did not take reservations but had 'call ahead seating' so I gave our name and asked for the 7:00 time slot. We got there at 6:45 and were told it was a 35 minute wait. We sat at the bar for a while; there was only one tender but clearly they needed two. We were seated around 7:20. We were seated at a full table with two other parties. I noticed an abundance of kids around -- then realized it was a kids eat free night. Looking at the menu prices, I soon realized how they could afford to feed kids for free. Menu prices are 25-40% higher than the hibachi competition--so for a kid-free party like ours, it was no deal. The food itself was decent, but the dinner was timed horribly. After two hours we were served drinks and salads, then finally our appetizer. Our entire table finally asked to speak to the manager and issued a complaint. Ten minutes later our chef came out and gave a good performance, but he seemed a bit stressed and overworked--as did all of the staff. Clearly they did not have enough people working there. In total, we were at the restaurant for four hours. That is an unacceptable time frame, especially with 'call ahead seating.' The manager and staff at last did issue an apology after we pointed out that another table that was seated after us happened to be eating before we even had salads. This place only earns a second star because the staff realized that they screwed up. While they didn't actually take responsibility (just offered 'we're busy' excuses), they did at least apologize and comp half the meal for each table. I did like that there is a salad dressing choice (lemon or creamy ginger). Didn't like that you have to pay extra for fried rice, which should be a hibachi staple. It was nice that the meal included soup, white rice (though...they forgot to serve mine), and ice cream dessert. Food quality was good--no real complaints except my friend said that the tempura on his sushi dish was so overwhelming he tasted nothing else. If you don't have kids, it's kind of pointless to go here on a kids eat free night because the place is jam-packed with families and you won't get a table. When you finally do get one, you're stuck at a table with some whiny five-year-olds that have had to wait several hours more than expected for a dinner. Chef was friendly with the kids; staff were generally nice--just altogether clueless. I like that the chef actually asked if anyone at the table had allergies instead of just tossing shrimp into people's mouths. Not worth the money, especially if you are traveling from Philly or Jersey. In Philly: Try "Hibachi" on Columbus Blvd near Dave & Buster's. In Jersey: Try Yama in Lumberton. No hibachi tables, but friendly, fast service.

I went to this restaurant with my friend on a Sunday night and got seated at a hibatchi table immediately. The hibatchi selection is a little slim, but covers the basics-steak, chicken, fish, seafood. The chef was very talented and entertaining, and very funny. We had a great time! I liked that they made sure of any food allergies before cooking, and the prices were pretty standard compared to the other hibatchi restaurants I've been to in this area. Didn't get a chance to taste the sushi (the waiter forgot to bring out our appetizer, but that's ok, he was extremely busy!) but the hibatchi cooked portion was very good...not as good as Mt. Fuji, but still good. Also the hibatchi dinner included a lot of food--soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, white rice, your main meal, and then ice cream for dessert. *Hint* The green tea ice cream is soo good! You definitely won't leave hungry. I think this would be a great place to bring a handful of friends or have a party since the tables seat so many people and the chefs like for you to participate and have fun.

We come here every year for my sister's birthday (about 4 years now). This year, my sister found a groupon online -- $15 for $30 worth of food. We all purchased it. Upon arrival to our table and review of the menu I noticed that the fried rice is not included in the hibatchi meal, it is $3 extra. I did not remember this before, is it new? If you want the rice that comes with the meal, it is plain white rice that is pre-made in the back -- it will not be cooked on the grill at your table. This was surprising to me, as their hibatchi dinners are quite expensive compared to other hibatchi steakhouses in the area, so for the fried rice to not be included is odd. Kids eat free 3 nights a week. It just so happened that the night we were there was one of those nights. None of us knew this prior to ordering. My nephew, who is 6, was not eating, he had eaten before we came but we thought it'd be fun for him to watch the hibatchi presentation. However, upon seeing a table across from us with noodles, he decided he wanted some, mid-way through the chef cooking our meal. The chef said he would order him noodles and mentioned to us that kids eat free so my nephew would be getting his meal for free. We thought 'great'. Check came at the end of the meal and the waitress charged us $4 for the noodles. We told her that the chef informed us that kids eat free. She explained that my nephew did not order a full meal, and therefore she must charge for the noodles. So she needed him to order MORE food, in order to get the buttered noodles for free? Despite arguing with her, she refused to take it off. Next is the Birthday celebration. If you've been here before, then you've seen the big deal they make when it's your birthday. One of the chef's comes out from the kitchen and sings to you, they flash the lights, have sparklers, take your photo, and deliver you a cake. For my sister's birthday, they stuck a candle in her boyfriend's ice cream and sat it down in front of her. No celebration at all. Was this because we used a groupon, we get the downgraded version? It wasn't as if they stopped doing the big celebrations, as we sat and watched their performance for a birthday at the table across from us. It was very disappointing. The manager came over at the end and asked us how everything was. We made a comment about not getting the big bday celebration for my sister's birthday, and he just looked at us and smiled and walked away. He either did not hear our comment, or pretended not to hear it. We all decided that we will find a new place to celebrate from now on. Per couple, the checks came to $60 (and then $30 after the groupon was reduced). This was for chicken or steak hibatchi dinners, with fried rice, and drinks (non-alcoholic).

Salty-rang anyone? A good friend of mine, and fellow Yelper, warned me to avoid Arirang. I always listen to her recommendations, but after being constantly told by a co-worker how "amazing" it is, I decided to give it a shot. I went at 7:30 on a Saturday with three other people and we were seated right away, which was great. My group of 4 decided to order 2 chicken & steak combos and pay the $4.25 share charge for each entree. We were all disappointed to see that both noddles and fried rice were an upcharge. We each ordered a side noddles for $2.99, but decided to pass on the fried rice. While we waited for our chef we ate our soup and salad. I didn't care too much for the soup, but the salad with ginger dressing was enjoyable. Once our chef came out he made the noddles first. My group were the only ones at the table to order noddles. We all ate them and, BAM! , hello salt! After just one bite we all looked at each other and you could tell we were all thinking the same thing. The rest of the meal was just as disappointing and salty, with a slight exception for the veggies. I've never been one to complain about salt, but WOW! This was disgusting! I also should mention how the chicken was so dry it was almost hard to chew and the slices of steak were extremely fatty, although the chef did cut off a lot of it. I have no desire to go there again. It was very overpriced, especially for the quality of the food. We actually had to go and get Shamrock shakes after the meal to get the taste of salt out of our mouths.

Ugh. I met two of my wonderful friends here. I wanted to go to Tijuana Flats but they both informed me they don't like Mexican (how is that POSSIBLE??) but they'd both been to Arirang before and loved it so we went here. I'm always up for Asian so I was excited since there were two raves. First of all, the atmosphere was really nice. Dark woods, lots of reds, bamboo shoots. I liked that a lot. However, the food? Not so much. I started with the traditional soup of broth, mushrooms and onions. It was very good. Loaded with mushrooms, not too salty, a classic that's hard to screw up. Next, we split the rock shrimp tempura. It was all right ... not very spicy and not NEARLY as good as the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill. I don't usually compare dishes but they're trying to do the exact same thing and Arirang just didn't pull it off. The batter was falling off, the sauce was tangy but not flavorful. Just, not a good effort. For dinner I had a shrimp tempura roll and an exotic roll (peppered tuna and avocado with spicy tuna and tempura flakes on top). Sounds awesome, right? No. The peppered tuna was just ... off. I've had peppered tuna before and it's been amazing but this one just wasn't flavorful. The spicy tuna had a whipped consistency, not chunky at all. It just wasn't good. The shrimp tempura roll was all right but again, it's a classic that's hard to screw up. I would perhaps go here again and try the hibachi or one of the entrees but I would steer clear of sushi. With so many other options in the area this place needs to pick it up.

Second time here after a day at sesame place and the second good experience we've had. The restaurant sears you promptly and the staff is friendly and serves you quickly. The chefs here are some of the most entertaining that I have had in 25 years if enjoying Japanese hibachi cooking. All the food is fresh and good including the sushi. Will be back next time we are in town.

We sat at the bar for a while; there was only one tender but clearly they needed two. We were seated around 7:20. We were seated at a full table with two other parties. I noticed an abundance of kids around -- then realized it was a kids eat free night. Looking at the menu prices, I soon realized how they could afford to feed kids for free. Menu prices are 25-40% higher than the hibachi competition--so for a kid-free party like ours, it was no deal. The food itself was decent, but the dinner was timed horribly. After two hours we were served drinks and salads, then finally our appetizer. Our entire table finally asked to speak to the manager and issued a complaint. Ten minutes later our chef came out and gave a good performance, but he seemed a bit stressed and overworked--as did all of the staff. Clearly they did not have enough people working there. In total, we were at the restaurant for four hours. That is an unacceptable time frame, especially with 'call ahead seating.' The manager and staff at last did issue an apology after we pointed out that another table that was seated after us happened to be eating before we even had salads. This place only earns a second star because the staff realized that they screwed up. While they didn't actually take responsibility (just offered 'we're busy' excuses), they did at least apologize and comp half the meal for each table. I did like that there is a salad dressing choice (lemon or creamy ginger). Didn't like that you have to pay extra for fried rice, which should be a hibachi staple. It was nice that the meal included soup, white rice (though...they forgot to serve mine), and ice cream dessert. Food quality was good--no real complaints except my friend said that the tempura on his sushi dish was so overwhelming he tasted nothing else. If you don't have kids, it's kind of pointless to go here on a kids eat free night because the place is jam-packed with families and you won't get a table. When you finally do get one, you're stuck at a table with some whiny five-year-olds that have had to wait several hours more than expected for a dinner. Chef was friendly with the kids; staff were generally nice--just altogether clueless. I like that the chef actually asked if anyone at the table had allergies instead of just tossing shrimp into people's mouths. Not worth the money, especially if you are traveling from Philly or Jersey. In Philly: Try "Hibachi" on Columbus Blvd near Dave & Buster's. In Jersey: Try Yama in Lumberton. No hibachi tables, but friendly, fast service.

When they served us our food, they would let us eat for about three minutes before they took it away, we barely ate our food! Besides the ridiculousness that ensued from the wait staff, the food was delish! Wish we had time to eat it though...

Horrible experience and we didn't even get a table! Decided to go for dinner with a group of 4 adults and some kids. When 2 of us walked in with a 5 year old and a 4 week old baby we were told that we could not be seated until the rest of our party had arrived. We stated that we'd like to order some sushi while we waited. They told us that we had to go sit in the bar. We had children with us so the bar was not the place for us. Well they had a couple booth tables in the bar area so we sat there and ordered some sushi while we waited. About 20 minutes into our waiting period the hostess comes up to us and asks if the rest of our party had arrived, when we said they would be there in a couple minutes they told us there was now a 45 minute wait and we couldn't be out on the list until the entire party had arrived! It's one thing to not seat people until the entire party arrives but to not put us on the list when we had an infant with us is just ridiculous!

The first time I was here back last year, we used a $15 for $30 groupon for sushi. Since the deal is decent and the food is okay, I bought the deal again. Again, we ordered 4 special rolls, ate, and gave the groupon to our waiter when he arrived. However, he informed us that the deal was only for entrees and not sushi. It does say so on the fine print, so there was nothing I can really argue with. This was a disappointment since the groupon was valid for sushi last time. The bill came out to be a little over $50 and almost $60 including tips. I would have been okay paying that price, but the special rolls were the size of a regular roll anywhere else. The rice was a bit bland and everything was just mediocre. I would say the waiter was speedy and attentive, but everything else was just meh.

I ended up in this place 'cuz they had a $50 off at groupon.com . Around 5:30pm on a Monday, we didn't experince the long wait time to get seated and to get our food. When you get in, left is the private dining, right is hibachi, and middle is the bar area (where the loud music is at). I only tried the private dining and the service is great!! We had sushi/sashimi + crab cake + flounder were good. Should be a 5 star because I had $50 off + no waiting. But price is up there and definitely not on my top 10 list for sushi. That's why it's a 4. I still have another $50 off, I'll try the hibachi.

The food is very good here-the Exotic Roll is amazing and the Tuna Pizza a solid winner. The Hibachi section is only fair, but still a nice option-but this place has a huge footprint-they are a great bar, with tasty well made exotic drinks, a sushi place with great "rolls", a dinner spot with menu or hibachi options, and now have live music on Fridays...very impressive. The music is great, the food too, and I hope this place stays around and prospers for a long, long time.

This Arirang location is the 5th in an eighteen year time span and they claim to be the #1. Steakhouse and Sushi Bar. I disagree. It is three weeks old and it is a beautiful building, inside and out. A-1 Japanese Steakhouse is a hop, skip and a jump away from them and two stars better. We were heading to Millers Langhorne Alehouse and because of the Eagles game in the playoffs, all tables were taken and folks were standing around waiting to slip in to any vacant spots, so we gave up and noticed this new restaurant across the street. I can honestly say, that I normally have a wonderful experience, anytime I try Hibachi and Sushi, but, I left very un-impressed. We had ordered and received our cocktails and had pre ordered our appetizers of shrimp dumplings, California roll, shrimp & veggie tempura and a Philly roll of smoked salmon and cream cheese. Only one other Hibachi grill had been seated and five of them had left. They asked us if we would mind moving to the first table and we thought, well, won't we look like an ass if we don't, so we smiled and said sure, no problem! They have eight large, double hibachi tables and each holds eighteen seats or nine at each single grill. They have a separate bar area with tables for folks that want sushi alone or to order off the menu. The menu will blow your mind. So many choices for sushi, appetizers, combo's, entrees, salads, soups and Hibachi combinations. It is so extensive, but they do not execute what you have ordered very well. It was the worst shrimp fried rice I have ever had. Nothing was Hot! The shrimp was half cooked and some of you may have loved this, but no one at our table did. The vegetables were served almost raw and he threw half of it away and never added the mushrooms and was upset when I asked why not and turned them on the grill once. Their skills are the worst I have ever seen for entertaining the guests, he dropped every egg and he knew he did and dug out the shells. For our entrees I had filet and shrimp and my hubby had sirloin. I had mine medium rare and he had his rare. Those just kissed the grill and his was okay and mine shall be cooked more tomorrow! Needless to say, we left over $100.00 poorer and we were not at all thrilled! Airang, you are not #1 and maybe a bit confused since Arirang means beautiful deer in Korean and Hibachi is Japanese.

Where to start, well at 7:30 on a friday night we got seated right away. That was good for us, usually restaurants are at least a 10 minute wait on a friday night, a little revealing. Sat down at the hibachi and started looking at the vast menu. I was really surprised they charged extra for fried rice. Saw the rock shrimp appetizer, a weakness, so I ordered that. Never would order that again. It was swimming in the sauce, not just a coating but enough sauce for 2 additional orders. For some reason there were unattached fried shrimp tails in with the shrimp that I had to pick out to avoid eating. I asked the waiter if this is normal, to which he replied yes. They didn't do a good job of peeling the so called rock shrimp, the batter should be crunchy not the shrimp. I was questioning whether they served me rock shrimp and not just regular u-20s. The first round of drinks were perfect, I had gotten a mai tai that tasted just right. The second one was a whole different story, it was so strong, I wasn't quite sure if they even added the juice to it. The main course tasted good, wasn't anything special, nothing that would make me go back there over the A1 japanese steak house down the street. The food at A1 is better, there's no upcharge for fried rice, and the tapenyaki chefs are more entertaining.

Stopped by on a Friday night with no wait. Service was really good... the hostess was so sweet and our waitress was always smiling, which in today's environment, was refreshing. We even had a visit from the Manager. We ordered the special for an appetizer... some cooked chicken dish that you wrap in lettuce...the name escapes me. There was so much of it, I didn't think I'd be able to eat dinner. Ordered a typical sushi dinner and husband ordered a cooked butterfly shrimp dish. He was iffy on his as it was cooked with some coconut infused sauce...different, but ok. Mine was typical sushi...nothing special...but the sashimi (without rice) was really good. Their tuna was very fresh and pink. Overall, I would come here again, but not over some of the other sushi places I've been to (Sakura in Bensalem and Sagami in Collingswood, NJ). Also, ate in the "tavern" side as the Hibachi side was really noisy. Don't recommend the other side unless you are with a group.

Very friendly staff, from host to waitress to sushi chefs, and the food was phenomenal. A bit on the pricy side, but the quality of the rolls, sashimi, and sushi was outstanding. Heck, even the miso soup stood out for us! We will definitely be back.

Sat in the regular dining area with a friend, ordered the Miso Sea Bass. I think the fish was the size of a 2 year olds hand. Hello I'm paying 20 bucks for how much food? Oh okay, I thought so.... Dining in for 2 people our bill came out to be way more expensive than we expected. I rather go waste my money on something that's worth it. When you dine in the hibachi, like all places they like to fill up the table before they start grilling your food. BUT Arirang holds back a bit...they keep asking you if you want drinks or appetizers as if they want you to buy their shit and not serve you the food that you intended to come for. They also charge you for fried rice...it's not included....and the prices are not that great. Don't waste your time here. There's an A1 if you want hibatchi and for those of you that think their sushi is fantastic, you can go to the mall and get the same quality.

Consistently good and well-rounded. From traditional hibachi to innovative, contemporary Japanese cuisine, I have yet to have a clunker of a meal at Arirang. And for a small, regional chain the look of the place is absolutely beautiful. My friend and I skipped the hibachi tables to eat in the tavern and loved it. Simple Japanese bar menu with some really cool menu selections. I ordered Shrimp Udon in a creamy, coconut broth that was filled with shrimp with salad and soup to boot. More than fair price, for a great meal. Definitely try it.

My family loves it here. Great for kids -- interactive and not quiet. Also, they have GLUTEN FREE soy sauce and were very accomadating for my food allergies. My food allergies are not severe, but we called ahead and they had gluten free soy sauce ready for me and the chef cooked all my food (even separated the fried rice) for me. Ask for Mark -- he is hilarious and was great with the kids we had with us!

I went to this restaurant with my friend on a Sunday night and got seated at a hibatchi table immediately. The hibatchi selection is a little slim, but covers the basics-steak, chicken, fish, seafood. The chef was very talented and entertaining, and very funny. We had a great time! I liked that they made sure of any food allergies before cooking, and the prices were pretty standard compared to the other hibatchi restaurants I've been to in this area. Didn't get a chance to taste the sushi (the waiter forgot to bring out our appetizer, but that's ok, he was extremely busy!) but the hibatchi cooked portion was very good...not as good as Mt. Fuji, but still good. Also the hibatchi dinner included a lot of food--soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, white rice, your main meal, and then ice cream for dessert. *Hint* The green tea ice cream is soo good! You definitely won't leave hungry. I think this would be a great place to bring a handful of friends or have a party since the tables seat so many people and the chefs like for you to participate and have fun.

Nice decor, nice atmosphere, very slow service, way overpriced, small portions. There were three of us, one order of sushi, a seafood dish in broth, and a pasta dish with a side of fried rice. The sushi rolls were tiny, the seafood dish was MAYBE a 1.5 cups of seafood for $22.00, and $1.75 for 3 pieces of shrimp added to a small bowl of fried rice. It was tasty, but definitely a poor value. The server was slow, and seemed to be taking his time hoping we would drink more. Anything we needed I had to flag down the server instead of him occasionally checking on us. Easy to find other better places.

I was so pleased with this place ! I came here with my close college friend and her family on her 25th birthday this past Saturday. This restaurant was very spacious and the décor was beautiful. While we waited for the rest of our party, we took a seat at the bar and chatted with the bartender who was very helpful and friendly. She informed us that is was still happy hour which was nice considering it was a Saturday and most places only have happy hour during the week. $ 4 wines and cocktails ! I think so. I ordered an apple martini which was very tasty and we shared some chips served with spicy wasabi mayo which was surprisingly delicious and I am not a fan of mayo. When they arrived we were promptly seated and our chef made the experience very enjoyable. He was so funny ! I ordered the NY strip steak and chicken breast with fried rice. The steak was delicious ! The chicken could have been a bit more seasoned however the sauces made it edible. It was also a nice touch that soup and a scoop of ice cream is included with your meal. Most of the other hibachi places I've been do not offer, salad, soup, veggies, rice, your meats and a scoop of ice cream with your meal, this was such a great value for the price ! The only gripe I have is the upcharge for fried rice, only white rice is included with your meal and there's a 2.99 charge for fried and 3.99 charged for chicken or shrimp fried rice. Overall this place was great, I'll be back !

Exceptional quality food, atmosphere and service. Although the hibachi cooking "show" was pretty standard it's a great value overall. I enjoyed steak and lobster, my wife had scallops. Both were perfectly cooked hibachi style with fresh vegetables in front of us and each meal included tasty soup, salad, rice, and ice cream. The freshness and quality of everything was impressive. We'll be back - especially on Friday nights when they have a great guitar player in the lounge

I visited Arirang yesterday and overall, I was perplexed. Our reservation for a relatively large group (12) was set for 5:15, yet there we waited for another half hour until we were even seated. It seemed to me that their wait staff was unable to handle a group of our size even though hibachi is generally considered a group activity. All of our drinks and appetizers came out sporadically, usually with all but one person receiving their item at once and the last person having to wait another 5 minutes for the server to show up again. The food was great, however. I ordered the chicken yaki soba and all aspects of the meal were delicious. Our hibachi chef was entertaining with the typical hibachi antics but not too theatrical so as to distract you from your meal. I almost died when I saw the bill. $77 for two! It seems like everything costs extra at this place; the extra charge for fried rice is completely ludicrous and nearly 10 dollars a glass for cheap house wine and bottom shelf sangria really add up. I would get Arirang if I was able to get it to go, but otherwise I won't be back.

Went there on a Tuesday night with friends and 3 kids amongst us. The service was very good. Everyone was friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. However, the food was really salty, especially the fried rice. Despite that though, a good time was had by my almost 3 year old, so I can't complain. Oh, and kids ate for free, so that was nice too! (I think it's only on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights that kids eat for free - call restaurant to confirm this tho.)

We've been here thrice for Hibachi dinner. The Hibachi experience is interactive and funny like all other places. Most of the wait staff and chefs are friendly and the Hibachi is ok. In the grand scheme of things, we can't find anything in particular that would set this place a cut above the rest of the Americanized Hibachi places that are scattered around the tri-state area. Oh and before we forget, they have a signature tradition of celebrating birthdays. For the mothers celebrating their birthdays here, they hold the woman's hands up in the air and sway from side to side singing "Mamasan it's your birthday!!". Now if you who are a bit familiar with Japanese culture, you would concur that the word "Mamasan" is considered derogatory because it's used in context with the woman running geisha houses. The correct word would be "Okasan" but it appears that the chain hasn't done its home work and continues to commit this faux pas everyday lol.

We've been here a few times but our visit today was excellent. We knew ahead of time that making a reservation on Open Table is only basically call ahead seating. However, going on a Thursday, it wasn't at all crowded and we were seated immediately. The sever was excellent, very personable and attentive. The chef was great as well, food tasted good and we got a lot!! We were celebrating my son's birthday and when we mentioned it, they did disclose that for $15 we could order a cake. It was a very good ice cream cake and worth it for us. While the food has always been good, sometimes service or staff was lacking when we went at a "peak" time (Friday or Saturday) so I'd recommend going off-peak for a great experience.

Excellent food, fantastic service and a lot of fun. Had 8 for hibachi and had a blast. Great menu, variety and great drinks. Food was delicious, filet, scallops, excellent. Sushi was super fresh - delicious. Only lose a star from me b/c I made a reservation via Open Table and they treated it like a "call ahead." So, when we all arrived at the restaurant they told me we would be seated within a 1/2 hour. Reservations should not be treated the same as "call a heads." Otherwise, everything was fantastic.

Gone here at least ten times. Have never had hibachi we've always sat in the restaurant section. I was there the same time as Sean P and Donna W seated near them. We had the same waiter Tai. I had an issue with my soup manager fixed immediately. I also observed him go over to the table with Donna W. She gave him the run around stating the other girls wanted to complain. They weren't present so the extremely busy manager left. My sushi was fantastic as always. Service was slower than a weeknight however it was a Friday night. Trust a veteran yelper as myself over a couple recent 1 review disgruntled yelpers.

We have been going here for several years now and I have to say that the only thing that keeps us going back is Jerry. Jerry is a server in the tavern part of the restaurant and he's awesome. This time last year we started to get horrible service - messed up orders, cold (hot) tea, and slow service so we stopped going. Then we came back cause of a coupon and Jerry was there and everything was wonderful again. Tonight however we went and had another server and it was horrible. We waited 30 minutes between ordering and receiving our dinner ... and that arrived before our appetizer! The server didn't know the menu and didn't ask us questions that Jerry always asks (like what kind of soy sauce we wanted). Then when we went to pay he took our coupon out of the payment folder and ignored it - when we told him we had a coupon he asked us for it ... even though he had it and had taken it out. So, we will from now on call before going and ask if Jerry is working. If so, we'll come in ... if not ... there are other options with better service in the area.

I went here for hibachi last night, I ordered the filet mignon and chicken, the filet was great, very tender and juicy, but the chicken was somewhat dry. They gave me so little meat too, other places gave me way more so I was not used to the smaller portion. The fried rice was okay, nothing special, but what was surprising was that they charge like $3 for fried rice; this is ridiculous because other places include fried rice with the hibachi. I rather take the fried rice over the miso soup any day for hibachi. ALSO.... I didn't realized ice cream was included in the hibachi, they didn't even let us know; I really thought it was extra until I looked up their menu online....This place is expensive, save your money and go somewhere else.

Love this place, we tried several sushi rolls and the tuna pizza. The tuna pizza was so good!! Everything was fresh. We came here during happy hour and they had an entertainer singing an playing the guitar. Which is great as this is not so common in this area. Also if you eat here multiple times the restaurant has a rewards program!

I was craving sushi one of the nights while visiting Philadelphia suburbs, and discovered this place on Yelp. With it being the only place around, I circumspectly decided to try with the knowledge of the average three star rating. Upon arrival, the interior decor was unbelievably lavish and perfectly lit with hues of red. It seemed out of place in the suburbs of Philly; its decor resembles an upscale place one would come across in Manhattan New York. Traveling solo, I decided to dine at the bar, after I was pleasantly greeted by the hostess. The bartender's professionalism and her attentiveness was unfortunately the best part of my dining experience. I started with a drink called Arirang Special, which incorporates rum, blue curaçao and pineapple juice. It was quite tasty and at $4, it was definitely gold. Excited about sushi, I ordered the safe bets, the Cucumber Roll ($3.29) and the Rainbow Roll ($9.99), to start with. Typically, this would be just about right for me for a light dinner. When the rolls arrived, I was puzzled and disappointed by both roll sizes. Unbelievably, the Rainbow Roll is typically larger than any cucumber roll, I've consumed anywhere, but not here. The diameter of both rolls was a tad larger than my thumb. The taste did not compensate either; the cucumber roll's seaweed was dry and difficult to chew through and the rainbow roll tasted like mayonnaise and not much else. I finished both and decided to get one more roll, as I was still hungry. I ordered the Sashimi Roll ($11.99); salmon, avocado and masago wrapped with tuna. The service was expedient and the roll arrived in matter of minutes. Again, bland tasting pieces the size of previous rolls. I figured that with the roll wrapped with tuna, it would have been decent size. At this point I was irritated from hunger and lack of taste, and I voiced this to the polite bartender. She fetched the manager without my request. He was professional about the situation and removed the Sashimi roll off my bill. Stubborn and on a mission to be fed, I decided to try something else off of their menu, which includes assortment of hibachi and salads. I decided to try their Calamari Salad with wasabi vinaigrette dressing. It mostly remedied the situation. Not only was it properly sized, it had an assortment of fresh and crispy greens, most of which I can't name. The dressing had a perfect balance of oil and vinaigrette. The calamari was equally splendid, as it was lightly battered and deep fired to light perfection. In summary, the sushi rolls were a disappointment, but the professionalism in which the situation was handled was superb. I will most likely return and try their hibachi and nigiri. I took a peek at other's dishes and they were remarkably well prepared and in proper portions. I will definitely skip the roll selection all together.

Excellent service! Food was fantastic! Go hungry portions are pretty large. I had the hibachi steak and scallops it was great. They have a kids menu and those portions are huge too. They had some live music in the dining area. I never give places a 5 stars but this place deserves it.

Light sushi selection. Prices are good for the area. Location is ideal. Venue is clean and inviting. We visited on an "off" Wednesday night, post-storm, so we had no power. The restaurant was empty with patrons, but overloaded with to-go orders. We waited an hour for our sushi due to the to-go order overload. I get it. If I'm sitting there, my order should go first. Just sayin'. We will give it one more chance for better service.

No complaints with the food but the front wait staff is terrible. We made reservations well in advance and still had to wait 35 minutes just to be seated. This is unacceptable, especially with 2 young children under the age of 6. After two inquiries about the wait we were angrily told by the hostess that it is typical to wait at least 30 minutes, even with a reservation. Not too sure what the point of a reservation was. It was another 50 minutes before our chef came out. Thankfully the waiter, Wing, was very friendly and our chef, Marco, was entertaining as well.

The first time I ate at Arirang was for Hibachi --- and I haven't been back until last week, with a Groupon. I'm not sure what that says about Arirang - except maybe that there are so many great places around for sushi, that you've really got to be exceptional to keep folks coming back exclusively. I'm not quite sure they have it. My friends and I opted for the Intrepid Boat. That was the plan when we agreed to buy the Groupon. Give us that Boat. ...only when we ordered said 'boat' -- it came out on a large white plate. FAIL, d****t! The Boat is part of the whole silly experience of ordering a giant pile of sushi & sashimi. The offense of our order arriving sans-boat aside, the Intrepid consisted of 5 rolls, 14 pieces sushi, 21 pieces of sashimi with soup and salad for 3 people. There were 4 of us. Our waiter was pretty cool to offer just throwing another set of soup & salad our way -- but we were fine, as one in our group isn't so big on either. I couldn't quite identify the rolls that we were given -- they were decent, but nothing disappeared any faster off the plate than anything else. It was all very fresh, as was the miso soup (the salad was fresh, but their ginger dressing was a little bland.) Their red bean ice cream is probably the best in the area -- which scores them many points in the book of one of our diners. In the end, Arirang is definitely a cool place - the atmosphere is different. The place is BIG. They advertise that they are a Modern Asian Tavern - which apparently means that having a country band perform there on a Friday night is okay... it just has that mass produced chain sort of feel that kind of pales in comparison to places where you've gotta take off your shoes and slide into a private room with a low table. If you want to indulge - absolutely grab the next Groupon (I've seen it pop up a few times since we bought ours!) pick up your chopsticks and dig in. If you'd like to supply your own bottle of wine and slide across the floor in your socks - head to Tako on Galloway Road!

No... No... No... NEVER AGAIN Wanted to give it another chance, but this is a definite end to the experiment. Thursday, 6 pm, there were only 2 tables occupied in the sushi area, when we were seated. One would think it would take 15 min at most to get the order for two people. We waited for over half an hour. It's is not a typo! The take-out orders were filled before orders for sitting customers. And, again - other tables were already served; we were the only two people still waiting for our sushi. When it finally did arrive, it was so disappointing: bland, tasteless, flat on texture, and simply unappealing from all perspectives. I won't bore you with the lackluster details. I simply know we will not ever return here again.

The sushi here is absolutely horrible. It tastes like the fish was frozen and thawed. There are some side items that come with the sushi meals and they are not exactly rushing to remind or even ask if you want these items. I ordered the kobe sliders appetizer for my son and they charged an extra $3 which was not listed as an extra charge on the menu. My husband and I went to the hibachi before and they charged extra for fried rice. I just feel like this place nickel and dimes the clientele and provides subpar food.

A little on the pricey side but food is delish and service really good. Shrimp udon is our favorite dish.

I've had both Arirang's hibachi and sushi dinner, and although they're two very different experiences, neither have disappointed. Their food melts in your mouth and everything is freshly prepared, yet one would certainly expect top-notch flavors, because Arirang's prices can empty a person's pockets out. Two helpings of salad, one Rock Shrimp appetizer, and a sushi/sashimi platter down and my check was roughly $45. I only had to pay $10, since I had a groupon for $35 off, but would a broke college-grad like myself ever go there without said groupon? As much as I'd like to, I just don't see it happening more than twice a year. Yet, if I did decide to splurge, Arirang would leave me well-satisfied, since their service, ambiance, and food all make for a great experience. If I were you, however, I'd call ahead to avoid a wait. My Favorites: (Keep in mind, I've only been here twice) - Rock Shrimp Appetizer - Fillet Minion or Salmon Hibachi

I have not actually had their hibachi, just have eaten in their sushi dining room. The sushi is decent, what you would generally expect at a place like this. Their fried rice is really good though - they add sake to it when cooking which makes the rice a little sweet, a nice contrast to the salty, savoryness of the soy sauce.
