Solid lunch spot. Panini's and sandwiches are good. The best thing, however, is the Nutella walnut brownie. You NEED to try it. $2.50 is a small price to pay for glory. For GLORY. Shop doesn't try to be something it's not. Ambience is great. Service is ok. Missing star cause of price. A dollar or two lower and this place could shine in the midst of a dark culinary region known as Glenside, PA.

Love this place! Great food, friendly service. I've only been for lunch, but the salads and sandwiches are fantastic and fresh! Great lunch spot in the heart of glenside.

Welcome to small town Americana! This is a cozy little restaurant in small town of Glenside. Nestled near a score of mom and pop shops all with in walking distance, you'll almost feel like you're going back in time. Throw in a friendly staff, and classic rock tunes like The Beatles and Dylan playing on their radio, this a great place to relax and enjoy good food. Theres also stocked bookshelves if you're by yourself and want to learn something new. They have a big and varied salad selection for you hippie and green types. They've also got a good selection of wraps, soups, and sandwiches. The staff is super friendly and the food comes promptly. Metered parking right outside, and unlike the city, .50 cents will give you enough time for meal, dessert, and chit chat. I might be a little generous in giving them a 5 star rating after only 1 visit, but they gave me no reason to give them anything less.

We had to go here since all the great people I know are called Anne. It was a gorgeous sunny day and we sat outside under an umbrella at a cafe table. I had the kale soup. So yummy of course kale is a super food, so I'm feeling like a super human. My rule of thumb is to always try the signature dish of a place so I had Anne's House salad, complete with Goat Cheese and strangely addictive candied walnuts. So much salad, but I did my best to work through it all, but in the end I made sure no candied walnut was left behind and lonely.

We made our third trip to Annie's today and came away sated and full of praise for the food and the staff. My favorite sandwich is Tom' Grill with turkey (or chicken) bacon strips, sliced tomato, cheddar cheese and Russian dressing grilled on Rye bread. My, my, my. The only short coming is on-street parking. But the food makes it worthwhile.

Probably my favorite lunch spot on the planet, and I live over 150 miles away from Anne's. We visit Wesley Theological Seminary on a monthly basis and on our second visit, perused Yelp for a lunch spot. Anne's was highly rated and did not disappoint. This sweet little Mom and Pop Deli does not skimp on process in any of their offerings. The sandwiches are superb, boasting fresh, baked bread and delicious, "off-the-wall" combinations like their yummy "Granny Smith Apple and Ham" sandwich. The soups and chili are far above average. Once again, the devil is in the details. They clearly excel in their process, obviously not skimping in preparing their own stock, resulting in outstanding, flavor-rich soups that are delightful. Don't forget to grab some of their awesome cookies on your way out! You just gotta love their decor and atmosphere. The staff is friendly, they play chill music, and have a great big bookcase filled with cookbooks with interesting tiles like "License to Grill". You'll also enjoy their fresh iced-tea bar and outdoor seating which is very nice in the warmer months. If you visit Glenside, please don't miss out on this little gem of a deli!

I'm really torn on this one. On one hand, I want to give it a bajillion stars for serving up one of the best sandwiches I've had in a really long time (try the Tom's Grill, a warm sammie with turkey, bacon, tomato, cheddar cheese and Russian dressing). It was seriously incredible and I hardly came up for air, I was so busy shoveling it down my throat. My post-lunch peanut butter chip chocolate flat cookie was also pretty damn awesome, too. Even though it was the size of my head it took me all of 10 seconds to finish. And no, I'm not embarrassed to admit that... But the service, well, it left a lot to be desired. I think the staff at Anne's are just on their own schedule. Even though it was pretty much at capacity, I never felt a sense of urgency from anyone nor did I see anyone hustling. It's definitely not the place to come when you're in a hurry; it's more of a leisurely lunch joint. However, it took a while for the sandwiches to come out and then, after letting our server know we were finished, we sat at the table, looking around expectantly for our check. After sitting there for about 10 minutes in full view of the register and the waitress, we asked for the check and were informed that we should just pay at the register. Would've been nice if you had told me that when I asked for the check the first time! All in all, though, it was a fine experience and I'd like to go back to try another sandwich, one of their many salads or some of that soup I've been hearing so much about. And they get props for having a clever menu with entertaining copy. Who doesn't like to laugh?

Creative sandwiches, nice and bright, with great service. I wish they were open late every night, because I don't hang in Glenside much at lunch time. I have had dinner here on Friday nights, when they are open late, and it was just as good. Only reason I don't give it five stars, is because they no longer have cold salads (tuna, pasta, etc.) The cold salads were also amazing and I really miss them.

Hesitantly order Ian's Reuben sandwich because they can be pretty high in calories! I am trying to lose weight, but love Reuben sandwiches so I went for it! Pleasantly surprised! This Reuben was tasty with homemade coleslaw that didn't have too much mayo in it. There was no melted Swiss cheese which I liked because it made the sandwich which was on rye much lighter. Great choice and I didn't miss the cheese! Recommend this place for lunch!

Like the outdoor seating, but the service and quality of food is inconsistent. Had a great soup followed by very substandard chicken ceasar salad. At checkout was mistakenly charged for someone else's meal which was $10 more than ours, without any apology when I pointed out the mistake.

What did we ever do without Yelp? We were in town for a show my daughter and I and needed a place for dinner. 4.5 stars for Anna's...sold! What a super cute place! We sat by the window, fireplace, cookbooks and an homage to her parents ALL in one place! There were great dinner specials but we opted for the soups. G got a Mac and cheese tomato and I got carrot coconut. She liked her's and I loved mine! We split a hamiapple sandwich which we found a bit too smokey for our taste but fun anyhow. As we were eating I could see they brought out some cookies from the back. I decided right then I had to have one. Keep in mind there was a whole counter top of goodies! The cookie was so fresh the chocolate chips were still melty! Chocolate chip, oatmeal, walnut with a touch of finishing salt! Best damn cookie I have ever eaten; I needed a moment. The owner came out of the kitchen and rang us up so I could tell her how great our meal was. Don't bother reading reviews for anywhere else in Glenside; Anna's is where it's at hands down!

Chicken Caesar salad is the best I've had. Chicken chunks, home made bread crumbs and home made caesar dressing....more than just a salad it was a dreamy delightful healthy choice.

Yum! We enjoyed dinner so much on Saturday night that I headed back for lunch on Tuesday. The atmosphere is so homey and comfortable, the staff very nice, and the decor so warm and inviting.

Called ahead to order and they told me 10 to 15 minutes. I showed up 20 minutes later and the food still wasn't ready. Although they did offer me to help myself to the beverage bar, and the salads were ready shortly later I won't be back...that is one reason, but the other reasons are this: Salads are great, but way overpriced. I purchased a scone and two long hairs delicately were baked inside. That is disgusting and really question the sanitary practices of the business.

Cute little restaurant in Glenside. I ordered the turkey wrap with Brie and raspberry jam. It was delicious. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. I would definitely go back!

Came for dinner once with friends, service great, food great, good vibe all around. Second time came a little later and were told on walking in that most of the dinner menu was unavailable -- this later turned out not to be the case -- and then when we sat down that they would close promptly at nine. As it was only eight, we didn't see how this was an issue but we decided there was a definite desire for us to leave so that they could get out earlier. We love that they open for dinner on Fridays, but service needs to be better.

I had read the reviews from Yelp and wanted to try this little place. So glad I did! The service was quick and very friendly. I had a soup and salad, then felt compelled to try 2 of the sweet treats by the register! Highly recommended! Make sure you put money in the meter!

Beautiful space, friendly folks, and top notch food. It's off the boulevard a bit - which is perfect. We had the turkey chili and the potato and collard green soup. Both were awesome. Following that we had a corn beef special and tilapia and risotto. Everything was quite swanky. The drinks and deserts are serve yourself - which includes coffee - which for me is a lovely thing. Very affordable and BYOB if that's your thing. We will be back.

The staff are so friendly and the food is so fresh. My party of 6 had a late lunch here yesterday and we all really enjoyed our lunches. And the homemade cookies were the best! You can't go wrong here. I will be back soon.

The food is delicious. All I got was a cup of French onion soup and the house salad with goat cheese. Such a simple lunch but the food was so fresh. It's an interesting set up to get used to at first, but it's cute, very "kitchen-esque".

I've eaten here about 3x a week now for a month because they always buy us lunch from Anne's at my work place, so I've gotten to try a handful of things from here. (Unfortunately, I've only experienced eating Anne's as take-out delivery and haven't gotten a chance to sit in the restaurant before.) Overall, everything here always tastes fresh and natural- none of that icky feeling you get from eating food that uses too much preservatives or MSG. This fact is definitely one of the huge pluses for Anne's. All their sandwiches/wraps I've tried are quite hearty and delicious, leaving me wanting more since I gobble it up so quickly. Their salads and soups are also usually very delicious and they match up ingredients very well! I'll just go through all the things I've eaten here as to help anyone who's new to this place and is trying to choose something: ----- SANDWICHES/WRAPS * Ian's Favorite Roast beef, cole slaw, with russian sauce = ravaging! I totally munched this down. Their roast beef is very fresh and red, and their cole slaw is delicious! It all goes wonderful with the russian sauce, I wish they put even a little more slaw in it since their homemade slaw is really good. (Note that their homemade slaw doesn't have a lot of sauce on it itself as slaws in other places commonly do.) * Southwest Wrap Chicken, salsa, sour cream, cheese, and guacamole. It's a little lacking in flavor punch, but still good. Lots of people in the office order this wrap very frequently. * Caesar Wrap Chicken, caesar sauce, cheese, and mixed greens. What makes this wrap is truly their home made caesar dressing, IT'S AMAZING. Their sauce is more so on the goopy side rather than the runny side, but you must absolutely try something with their caesar sauce if you go to Anne's. * L.A.B.L.T Bacon, lettuce, tomato, turkey, and spicy guacamole sandwich. Pretty self explanatory and was pretty decent. Guacamole wasn't that spicy, but maybe it's just me since I'm used to spicy food. ----- SALADS: * House Salad This is absolutely my favorite salad from Anne's. It has dried cranberries & tangerines, candied walnuts, a scoop of goat cheese, and olives/tomatos/cucumber with their house made balsamic vinegar. Absolutely FANTASTIC, all the flavors go so well together with the balsamic vinegar and the goat cheese is just so smooth with all the flavors. If you're a first timer at Anne's looking for a salad, definitely go with this!!! (Unless you dislike dried fruits like my co-worker) The only qualm is that one time they forgot the goat cheese for me... made me a little sad since it does goes really good with the salad overall. *Asian Noodle Salad: Some julienned veggies with sesame noodles on top of mixed greens with their Asian vinaigrette. The Asian vinaigrette is sort of just saltyish with a sort of soy sauce like taste that tastes pretty good with the mixed greens. But what makes this salad delicious is the cold sesame noodles! I wish they had just the sesame noodles on the menu because I could just eat a whole dish of it, it's just so flavorful and wonderful to eat. * Grilled Chicken Club Salad: Grilled chicken, bacon bits, blue cheese crumbles, baby spinach, tomato, cucumbers, olives on mixed greens with your choice of sauce - I went with caesar since I love it so much. This salad is more typical but tasty none the less, especially if you like blue cheese. * Caesar Salad As I said before for the caesar wrap, their caesar dressing is to die for! Definitely get this is you like caesar salads. Although they do not put cheese or parmasean on top of this salad. Also in general, if you like a particular salad for their sauce and not the other things in it, go with the tossed salad or club salad since you can choose your own dressing. ----- SOUPS: Usually their soups change from day to day or week to week, and usually they are very savory and delicious. I've had Chinese Corn Soup, Crab Corn Chowder Soup (barely any crab though), Gnocchi chicken soup, tortellini with sausage soup, Sweet and Sour Pork Soup, and some others I may have forgotten. There was only one time I got the Chinese Corn Soup and it was kind of over salty. TLDR? Overall, this is definitely a great tasty place to grab a bite for lunch! You really can't go wrong with most things you choose here as everything is fresh and usually yummy. My co-workers also love the Joshua (a 3 cheese grilled cheese panini) and Tom's Grilled (according to them, it's very delicious but at the same time a bit overly filling)

I have been going to Anne's Kitchen Table for years, with a friend from Glenside. Over the years, it has always had fresh, tasty food and a nice, homey, welcoming vibe. The waitstaff is friendly and low-key. It is open for dinner 2 nights per week, but I have only been there for lunch. If Philadelphia weather permits, there are a few tables outside to enjoy. My friend often gets soup, and she is always happy with it. She has some favorite sandwiches, and they are hearty, so she sometimes takes part home for later. I generally go for one of the delicious and creative salads, and that hits the spot for me, but sometimes I can't turn down the black bean quesadillas. You can eat vegan or vegetarian easily here, if you wish, and the waitstaff is very helpful in being informed about menu items that fit that bill, and they are accommodating about modifying a menu item to suit. Carnivores will be satisfied as well. You can splurge on a calorie-fest or eat light and low-cal, and it's all good. I always enjoy the ice tea in warm weather (water and tea are serve-yourself from coolers). I try to pass by the home-baked goodies (scones, various bar cookies, etc.), but they taste as good as they look. The place is small, so if you want to be sure to get a seat without waiting, or nab one of the outdoor tables, get there early or wait for the lunchtime peak hour to be over. Anne's never disappoints. It's a little neighborhood gem, and has numerous devoted repeat customers . It's food you wish you had the time and energy to make yourself.

By far the BEST restaurant in the area and beyond. Homemade soups are unbelievable. They typically have 4 varieties. The menu is large for such a little place. Prices and quality are unbeatable. Well worth it. Moving to California and I will miss Anns! Service is just as good as the food! Take out if you can't eat in.

Nice space. Feels like you're in someone's livingroom. Melodic 'Chocolat'-esque guitar music in the background. Funny menu, had smart and funny remarks at the end of each item. Had the New England Clam Chowdah, Piping hot. Authentic tasting and NOT from the can. Had Tom's Favorite, which was Turkey, cheddar, tomato on rye. It was good. Will come here again.

Can't wait to come back here again. Recommended to us by a friend, Anne's Kitchen Table was the perfect mix of down home, fresh, good quality, soups, sandwiches, and salads. We sat outside and had a really kind server explain to us all we needed to know about their self-serve drink options and her favorite sandwiches and soups. We shared a hot wrap with turkey, brie, tomato, raspberry jam, and a dijon spread that was melty and delightful. I had a salad and their coconut curried cauliflower soup as well. Both were delicious! The soup was SUPER rich, so I didn't even finish a cup, but it was really tasty. The atmosphere is what I liked the most... it was causal, but not frumpy, and home-y, but not a musky-old-diner kind of home-y. We just felt welcomed and well fed. Any place that makes me feel this good after going out to dinner definitely deserves five stars. P.S. They do BYOB and there just so happens to be a Wine and Spirits shop around the corner!

Well la-di-da! Yelp comes through again. Did a search for a nice place to stop and get lunch in the Glenside area and Anne's Kitchen Table was the best on the list. The décor was that of a quaint neighborhood eatery. The gazpacho was unreal. Not too spicy but filled with ripe veggies. For lunch I had the cold roast beef sandwich with horseradish sauce, side of kettle chips, and an old fashion Coke bottle. All three were absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was just as good as the food. Wonderfully pleasant staff. From the moment walking in to the time we left the staff was courteous and helpful. The prices were proportional. I paid about $8.00 for my sandwich. Lunch for two came to about $25.00. P.S. Ordered pickup the other day for four adults and two kids. Just as tasty as eating there. We only ordered cold items so I'm not sure how the hot food would hold up during a wait.

-A little bit hippie -A little bit foodie -A little bit neighborhoody Anne's Kitchen Table is a tiny place where you might have trouble getting a table during a rush. During good weather, they can accommodate many more customers at their outdoor seating.

Love their food, unique and tasty, reasonably priced. Inside environment is great, you can certainly sit there and spend your afternoon. My boyfriend doesn't like it that much, he says it's a weird atmosphere. I enjoy their food and environment a lot.

This is a hidden gem in Glenside. The soup of the day is always great. If you want a simple, healthy lunch this is the spot. Tried it for dinner once and it was great as well. They had chicken pot pie that night and it was superb. They don't mind if you bring a bottle with you from the liquor store nearby. Great family run place.

Wonderful little gem on a side street off Easton in Glenside. Outdoor tables are on a quiet street- very pleasant environment. Great salads and soups. Perfect for vegetarians- and plenty of carnivorous options as well. We had a hard time deciding what to order, since everything looked great. Mediterranean chicken with couscous soup was wonderful; Anne's House Salad was phenomenal! Sandwiches and paninis were quite good. Will definitely return.

Anne's is an asset to an otherwise bleak Easton Road in Glenside. You can pull up into a parking spot right there. They are great about updating their website daily about their specials. I always go with a special when I am fortunate enough to have the chance to get lunch there. They had a creamy lemon dressing the other day, wow! I kept the leftover it was so good. Another example of why I like them: they had a special that was egg salad on top of green salad. I was weary. But the egg salad was just diced hard boiled egg with tasty seasoning and no mayo. So it totally worked as a salad. They are a great spot for a sit-down Saturday afternoon lunch. The only night they are open for dinner is Friday and that is hit-and-miss. I can recall one miss being a not drained enough pasta dish. But I love eating there. The vibe is reminiscent of Northern California, a small local place with a progressive clientele. In a few months I will have more time at lunch than I do now. I'm looking forward to that because it will mean I have the time to drive to Anne's and back. Good for me.

We finally made it for lunch one cold February day. The place is charming, kind of, yet also...small, dare I say a bit cramped and cluttered? They obviously use top quality ingredients and cook with care but that doesn't necessarily translate into tasty food. You serve yourself coffee which is in a carafe and tucked back in a corner. It was good if you don't need your coffee to actually be served hot as "barely tepid" is how I'd describe it - fortunately I don't mind it cold if it's decent quality and this was. By the time all the tables were full it was going to be incredibly awkward for me to weave my way back to get a refill so I didn't. We started with a bowl of mushroom barley soup - it looked really good but was only ok, not especially tasty or anything and I wouldn't get it again. I had the Roma panini - mozzarella and tomato on grilled bread. The bread was wonderful and the quality of the ingredients was obvious but it was sort of tasteless. I seemed to be missing peppers and the basil oil added almost no flavor, it just soaked one layer of bread into a slightly oily unpleasantness. They should substitute fresh basil for the oil. Hubby had the Asian wrap which consisted of various veggies in a ginger dressing with sesame noodles and it was absolutely delicious. When I started eating his leftovers at home I couldn't stop - the sesame and ginger mixed with the crispness of the vegetables and the chewy noodles - yum yum yum! There were all kinds of delicious looking scones and brownies and cookies available, some were vegan. We tried the Orange Pistachio biscotti for dessert (which is apparently made elsewhere according to it's tag) and it was really good - great texture and flavor. I'd give this place 3.5 stars if we had half points but since their food was so nicely made I will go higher and rate them a 4. The service was fine and I'd like to back and try some different things for sure and maybe take advantage of their outdoor seating when it's warmer.

What a cute little restaurant! I love the atmosphere! It's like you're sitting in someone's kitchen. The place is filled with cookbooks, art, and canned goods, to give the feeling of a kitchen. Food was amazing and I appreciated the fact that they let me know what soup was vegetarian and that they specifically didn't contain chicken broth. Plus they make some of their own baked goods, which were the best I've ever had (sorry mom) I'm going to make this a regular place to stop at.

I seriously thought I had already reviewed this lovely little gem! I have been there twice and will go many more times for sure. The first time I had "Ian's Favorite" I am a corned beef junky and it was delish, the grilled rye was a huge + for me. The next visit was another delicious endeavor. I had the "Am I Blue" and it was so yummy, creamy and grilled to perfection. The southwest chicken soup was wonderful as well. Overall, not a bad thing to say about the place! I even loved the gluten free brownies I got at the counter! Thanks Anne's :) See you soon.

I almost don't want to write a review for this place because it was great and not too crowded! But this placed really impressed me so i can't help but write a good review. My hubby works in glenside and recently got into yelp. So he found this cute little place and I'm so happy! We met here for lunch and since it was a nice day so we sat outside. It was really cute inside too so I look forward to eating inside too! The staff was super friendly and helped me choose what I wanted to eat since everything seemed so good! The food lived up to my expectations! I means its not fancy food: salads, wraps and sandwiches, but they do simple foods well! I had the plato and it was very yummy! My hubby had the chicken caesar wrap and he loved it! They have all types of desserts even vegan ones but we were both too full to have any. I cannot wait to go back and try more of their delicious foods and hopefully dessert! They also have dinner on Friday nights and it's byob! Yay! So I see a few visits here in our future, I just wish it were closer!

What a great spot for a cheap, filling and Friday night dinner! I wanted to get something quick, preferably BYO, after a long week of work. I remembered that Anne's serves a special Friday night dinner and wondered if we'd be able to score a couple of seats. We walked in and there were a few open spots. It was only 6PM; later on, the place was filled to the brim. And I mean that literally. We could barely move in our little seats at our tiny table, this place is so jammed. If I were to make one complaint, it would be the paucity of the leg-room. When we tried to move to a table with a little more room to swing our feet, we were asked to move back because of a foursome who had just entered and needed to take our table along with its neighbor. We were happy to move for these new folks, and even happier when we were given free dessert for our trouble! We started out with the soup. The soup is a must! They had four homemade soups to choose from, and I chose the meatball dumpling soup while my husband chose the pumpkin bisque. Both were scrumptious. I could see just ordering a bowl of soup and being completely satisfied. We decided to order from the lunch menu; happily, they do not hassle you to order from their dinner options. Although the dinners sounded mouth watering (chicken stuffed with cheese and drizzled with a sweet sauce, mmm), I wasn't hungry enough to tackle on of those huge plates. I had an excellent salad instead, covered in grilled veggies with a heaping scoop of fresh goat cheese. I love that the goat cheese was served in a scoop on the plate so you can have as much or as little as you want - nice touch! We also split a bottle of wine from the state store around the corner. So convenient! We finished our dinner by splitting a warmed up chocolate chip scone. Oh my. It was beyond delicious. The brownie we took home (our second "free for our trouble dessert") was on the dry side. I would stick to their freshly baked goods, like that killer scone.

I love the atmosphere here, you feel at home. Free drink, adequate bathroom and friendly waitresses. Homemade sweets and the sandwiches are always delish. I always enjoy my time here.

So I chose this for my Birthday lunch in July. It is just lovely. If you like the quaintness of, say, New Hope, PA or Provincetown, MA, you will LOVE it here. It is small and is mostly popular for lunch. I believe they open at 10 a.m. for coffee and freshly baked scones -- which, by the way, are to die for! There are no servers (at least at lunch time), so you just need to order at the counter, and it is very graciously brought over to you. Even though it's a small space, you are never made to feel 'Rushed' by the staff. The coffee is self-serve, and the staff immediately offers to make a fresh brew if you feel it is not fresh enough to your liking. The food was yummy and also so very fresh. I highly recommend Anne's and, in fact, am returning Saturday morning with a friend for coffee and scones. Bonne Appetit! p.s. I just noticed another yelper review who states that Anne's now serves breakfast! The Review date was 7/4/12. Grand!

Food is great, especially for sandwich lovers. The place is very small and the drinks are self serve making it difficult to move around when they're busy. Outside seating is definitely preferred, weather permitting. The only thing that will prevent me coming back (as frequent) is the prices are a bit higher than expected for such a low-key neighborhood place that specializes in soups and sandwiches.

Food is fresh and delicious, however prices are a bit steep. I think $9.75 for a salad is a lot. The seating inside is a little too close for comfort but in the nicer weather it's nice to sit outside there!

This place is a hidden gem, serving the most delicious salads, sandwiches, and soups. It is a little off beat with charming attentive service. We love coming with our kids and dog and sitting outside when the weather is mild. Their yummy cookies are big enough to share and finish off brunch/lunch perfectly:-)

Cute little homey cafe/sandwich spot on a side street off off Easton Rd just enough to be away from the traffic noise. There is usually a parking spot or two available within a few yards. Pleasant place with good food, reasonably priced. Nice outdoor seating decorated with large planters reinforces the hominess of the place.

What a cute little place on a quiet street! Their food is the freshest you can get, home made, and interesting. I especially liked the snark used in writing the menu...it shows they have a sense of humor, but they love what they do. It seems to be mostly a lunch and breakfast place. They had outside tables with ample umbrellas for that sudden summer shower. Inside seemed a little small to handle a big lunch crowd. You serve yourself your own beverage (iced tea, water, coffee or something out of the fridge) and the waiters are not hovering over you. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a nice, fresh, healthy lunch for casual eat-in or take-out.

This is a super friendly place to have a meal. I've had lunch there a few times. The soup is always great. I haven't had anything ordinary yet.

I was SORELY disappointed with Anne's. I take reviews on yelp very seriously, and usually get what's recommended in 5 star reviews, so here was no different. I ordered an asian wrap with noodles for takeout, and was really excited to try it as it smelled delicious! Well, I opened the paper to discover both covers SOAKED in sauce, which normally wouldn't be an issue, except the sauce was mostly oil. The entire outside of the wrap was soaked with oily sauce as well. I took one bite and couldn't eat anymore of the wrap because it was so oily. It was such a shame because the veggies seemed incredibly fresh and delectable, but again, the sauce was so oily I couldn't eat my lunch.

Ok so here's the skinny. I've been eating at Annes for years and now I cant get a damn table without waiting forever. So I hesitate to have even more people eat here. Such is the problem when a place is genuinely good. Anne's is the best lunch and Friday dinner around these parts. Not a quick in and out (anymore, damn you!) so expect a wait due to the limited table space inside and a few tables outside (THE BEST!) in warmer weather. It's worth it. Best to go off hours. My fave is Anne's house salad which I've been eating since they opened. (This kind of salad is popular now but Anne did it first and still does it best.) I've probably enjoyed, like, 100 of them. Can't go wrong with any soup and there isn't a bad sandwich on the menu. Dinner specials are always good. Fresh ingredients has always been a priority. Service is always friendly and I guess you have to be a regular to know to pay at the register. Forgive the servers for assuming. They are nice but busy and sometimes forget. And tip well please. So please stay away from Annes, people! Stay away! Don't forget a cookie. Or maybe a brownie.

Great local lunch & early dinner spot off the beaten path in Glenside. Deserves to be more well known as their food is great.

This place rocks...nice leisurely lunch spot with great food and a cool, quirky atmosphere. Not a lot of seats to be found and its often quite busy but its worth the effort to get a table (especially outside on a nice day). I wish I lived within walking distance, as I would eat here several times a week. Ok, maybe its good I don't live within walking distance. The staff are friendly, the food is excellent, the whole "vibe" very sincere. I approve.

I love Anne's! I was a student at Arcadia and this was my go to place. The soups and bean quesadilla are my favorite. The servers are always polite and attentive. It's a little slice of home anytime I go back. The hours are the only downside. I wish they were open longer.

A hidden gem, for sure! I had lentil soup and a hoagie. Lots of vegetarian options, lots of locals, and a self-serve coffee station in the back. If I find myself back in the area, I'll definitely return!

Sandwiches, salads, and soups to die for, Anne's Kitchen Table, tucked away in Glenside, is no less impressive than any of the favored lunch stops in nearby Philadelphia (It is only open for dinner W-F). Have your sandwiches on high quality Le Bus bread, or pack it away in a panini or wrap. Hefty sandwiches are delightful here and will never leave you with an empty stomach. They also use excellent cheese. The brie in the French Connection is to die for, it's silky creamy texture melts in your mouth, leaving a surge of pleasure. Of course it also makes you feel like you're on the road to obesity, but who's counting calories when they go to Anne's? Different sandwiches feature different cheeses and the good people at Anne's will recommend which cheeses and other ingredients go with your sandwich of choice. However, feel free to disagree as you can substitute whatever cheese you want into any given sandwich. It is said that Anne's is most noteworthy for its soups. Unlike some of the watered down soups you can get at other lunch stops, Anne's serves soup that is thick and full of flavor. Whatever the case, make sure to visit more than once. The items on the menu are so diverse that you can never learn about all that Anne's has to offer from one visit. I long to go back there again myself.
