Went on a Saturday night with the extended fam who lives close by. Wasn't expecting the food to be nearly as good as it was, everything was tasty and portions were substantial (especially on the salads). I'm still drooling over the sauce on the thai mussels. Everyone enjoyed their food thoroughly, even my picky 7 year old who got the chicken tenders. If the delicious $5 martinis (on Saturdays) don't lure you in, the excellent food should. Better service would easily make this a 5 star place.

A small side order of PLAIN nachos was $6. What?? Terribly expensive, lackluster service and underwhelming flavor. Redeeming quality is the microbrew draft beer selection, but seems to be hit or miss.

I have given Metro quite a few chances, but I have been disappointed every single time I have eaten here. It breaks my heart this establishment does not have anywhere near good food, since their beer selection is outstanding. It is upsetting when a bar and grill can not even nail standard appetizers and "bar food." The prices are also higher than the average bar type setting in the area. I do not mind paying higher prices, but when simple items are prepared so poorly, it makes me angry. Menu items I have had problems with include the wings, nachos, hand cut fries, chicken enchiladas, deep fried risotto balls...and the list goes on. The only reason I give this bar 2 stars is because of their beer selection.

Went Monday nite with the wife not expecting much as we usually go for drinks at tiki bar. Ordered two specials both enjoyed the plates. Nothing fantastic but edible. Had to sit in bar area as upstairs closed. Only issue I saw was price 2 meals 1 side salad and 2 soft drinks $40 at $25 I would feel it was worth a return visit but &5 for very small but good salad and $2.50 for a soft drink is steep IMHO.

I know this place has been under differing ownership and differing management for quite some time. I think they are trying to find the right fit for the area. I will say the menu has recently gone through a change, it is smaller but has a little of everything. I tried the chicken your way, and as the name implies; you chose the cooking method and the seasonings -- and if you know what you like it's pretty good (nothing spectacular, but a good meal). I look forward to the outdoor patio and do hope they will have regular entertainment here -- a good happy hour and a couple summer drink specials would also be nice).

Can't pay your employees, can't pay to keep your website online....sounds like you're a real quality guy Tom Ford. How many employees did you screw out of their last pay checks? From what I could see, you even screwed over your own brother. But hey, at least you still have those diamond city awards! They'll mean something someday!

I think you really have to try to get less than 3 stars. Just using common sense in running a restaurant should be able to get you 3 stars. I don't know what is going on at this place but I remember it used to be highly regarded. I was not impressed with my experience last night. The only good part for me was the service. The server kept checking on us at regular intervals and was definitely paying attention. The place was not lit very well and half of it was shut down. There is an amazing upstairs section with a nicer patio than the one out front that was just shut down. No one was up there and half of the beer menu was inaccessible because it was only served in the upstairs area, which was shut down. Anyway, we went to sit down outside and the tables were still soaking wet from an earlier rain, and there were spider webs all over them. We sat down and were given menus and drinks promptly, like I said I have no problem with the service. We ordered the Greek tapas plate and I have never in my life tasted anything so bland! The babaghanoush was tasteless. It literally tasted like nothing, I could only "taste" the texture of it. The hummus was ok but not creamy enough and the olive tapenade was so generic, with gross feta added to it. I most definitely will not be returning, mostly because I live in California, but definitely not when I come home to visit again.

if I could give it no stars, I probably would. I got a bud light draft, it was flat and warm. then I got a crab stuffed pretzel which basically was a piece of bread topped with cheese. I couldn't even cut into it so I sent it back. there was also no crab meat inside so I'm not sure why it was called a crab stuffed pretzel. it was also ten dollars, which makes me laugh even harder. not to mention the ambiance was even better with flies above our table. won't be back.

I wasn't impressed. Not bad food but not great. The environment leads you to feel like upscale dining but serves decent sportsbar quality. The service was horrible, the woman there acted like she didn't want to be there snd her service showed it, very slow to boot. Though I wouldn't refuse to go back I am not planning it.

Slow service, as in CRAWLING service. (Kind of like my 87-year-old grandma driving a car up a hill facing the sunlight without her wearing her glasses...) Metro has decent food, but you can definitely find better elsewhere. And when I say the service is atrocious, I mean it. I can't speak for the bar because I've always had a nice time their with bartenders (Phil!) but the dining room service and food is definitely an avoidable irritant. Get your shiz together Metro. We shouldn't have to ask for silverware, plates to share appetizers, condiments, water refills, and on top of it have to wait something like 30 minutes for a burger and fish and chips.

I really use to like the Metro. When it was owned by the people who have Arena the beer selection was awesome, especially for this area with a "coors light" beer culture. The servers knew a little bit about beer too, and it was emphasized. The new ownership doesn't seem to have a clue about beer. The selection has been thinned, and the staff seems to be lacking knowledge/training about beer. The last two times I was here I was served Belgian quads in a pint class. The food at this place has always been bad going back to 4 owners ago when it was called "Twin Stacks." When the Arena people owned it you could consider the food to be semi edible. You could order Nachos, a burger, or a quesadilla and expect it to be decent quality. Eating at this place now is not advisable. I order a chicken quesadilla and it was absolutely horrible. You really need to be special to screw up a quesadilla but the ingredients were old and thing was greasy/overcooked. My wife had a "tapas plate" that looked like it came from a government laboratory. The place looks like they haven't spent a dime, and its actually pretty dirty too. I would suggest cutting the menu to a 1/4 of its size focusing on good pub food made from scratch, not the crap they are serving now that comes in a box from Sysco truck. It might be worthwhile to go big on craft beers and provide a level of service that one would expect in say a metropolitan gastropub. It would certainly be a good way to differentiate this place from dirty mediocre place its become as a result of neglect and carelessness.

The appetizers at this place is great....my daughter never had sweet potato fries and this place had the best where she wanted "orange" french fries. I loved the set up of the restaurant with the split levels - seems like it would be a cool place to go for happy hour and bar night. The martini menu was great. I had the Korean Style Fish Sandwich and it was delicious. I wanted to take one to go with me. The chips with the blue cheese dip is amazing too. For sure a great place to visit when in the area in PA!!!!

I ordered a cocktail that featured lemon juice and it arrived with the fake store bought lemon chemical stuff, not freshly squeezed juice. It was gross. The coconut shrimp soup sounded good but it was loaded with added sugar. They manage to mess up a salad too by adding various candied ingredients. Their beer selection is sad for what is mostly a bar. If there is live music, sit upstairs as it can be LOUD, acoustics are aweful. When we visited, some of the fluorescent light fixtures near the bar tables were constantly flickering, which was very annoying. When we mentioned this to the wait staff they just shrugged and said that's been happening for a while. It's all too bad as the space has a lot of potential.

I used to be a huge fan of Metro and their food, but this new change with a "new menu" is a step backward, in my opinion. My husband and I went there last night to find that a bunch of our favorites-- chicken fingers, half moon mozzarella, and some other appetizers and entrees had been removed from the menu and in their place were (much higher priced) items that didn't seem appetizing to us. We settled on the ribs ($22..ouch?), and while the seasonings and sauce were delicious, the ribs were SO dry they were almost inedible. We brought half of them home and after only seconds in a microwave, they were so desecrated we had to throw them out. Big waste of money. Definitely not the "fall off the bone" tender meat that's advertised :( I also ordered one of their "new martinis", the Summer Sky, only to have it served as a frozen drink. When I told the waiter this is not what I had ordered, I was told they don't make that as a martini anymore (What? I thought this was one of your "new" martinis that you're advertising?) On a positive note, the new Key Lime martini is delicious (with a graham cracker rim, yum!), and the beer and cheese soup was excellent. Sweet potato fries and dipping sauce are out of this world. I'm disappointed in the entrees and the obvious price increase in their food, so I don't think I'll eat dinner there again, but for some drinks and an appetizer on the outdoor patio, as well as Karaoke night on Wednesdays which is always a good time, I will return. ***July 4, 2012 Update: I am increasing my rating to 3 stars, because of a very thoughtful email I received from the Owner/Manager after posting my review. He explained how they are using more fresh ingredients in their dishes which contributes to the higher prices. I may not be able to afford dining there on a frequent basis because of this, but credit shouldn't be taken away from them for trying to put out the highest quality product possible just because I can't afford it! Also, I was offered replacement dinners for the ribs that we were disappointed with, and I really appreciate that. Who knows, maybe if my next visit is even better, I'll come back and edit my review again!
