I had dinner their with my family before dropping off my daughter at Villanova. I couldn't have been more disappointed. Appetizers (mozzarella stick) came out cold and I don't mean warm, I mean cold! I had pasta and it was all stuck together. They obviously didn't stir the pasta when cooking it so it didn't even cook evenly. My son had eggplant and it was cold in the center. The server was nice and polite but service was slow. It took us 20 minutes to find our waitress to get our check. She just seemed to disappear like everyone else. It's a shame but I'll never return.

Our tennis team was in the mood for pasta, so we ordered two trays of carbs and one of salad. The vegan spaghetti with tomatoes was good, but very plain. The tortellini was decent until we got to the bottom, where it was all burnt and the remains stuck to the bottom of the pan. The salad needs something more than olives, tomatoes, and feta cheese. Not bad, but not great. The rolls were A++ though.

Stay away! The take out is awful, untimely, and tastes like cardboard! I cannot say enough how poor the food tastes from this place--eminently disappointing, stale, overpriced, and bland. If you want pizza , you would be better served eating frozen pizza than the cardboard tasting crap coming out of the kitchen, in my opinion.

Food is good but waiting time to take an order is very long 45min:(.. May comeback again as food was good.

I am really disappointed in this Bertucci's. My fiancé and I came on a Wednesday night and it was dead. Anyway, we walked in and the hostess?? greeted us and asked us to wait a couple of minutes while she cleared a table even though there were honestly about 30 open tables. We should have just walked out then but we were hungry and ready for some food. After about 7 minutes the same girl comes and takes our drink order (just water) and it takes another 5 to get our waters! We almost walked out then too. After giving us our water, she walked away....another 10 minutes she comes and takes our order. Mind you the whole time she was standing in the back talking to the cooks. Seriously so annoying, took our food so long to come out and she never came back to refill our waters or ask how the food was. Probably will never go back. I could understand these things if it was crowded, but there was literally 6 other tables of people. The waitress went out the front door and smoked a cigarette right out front while we were still eating! There was nothing redeeming about our service. The only reason I gave two stars was because the food was decent.

I love the rolls here. They are the best reason to come in for a meal. The rest of the food is alright, but nothing too exciting. I've never had a really bad experience. The staff are really friendly.

Could have sworn I reviewed this Bertucci's years ago... We stop in here from time to time. The service is usually pretty good and we usually don't have any trouble with the food. However, I was a little annoyed when I stopped in the other day and ordered a focaccia sandwich only to find they didn't have any focaccia bread left, so they (after asking me) put it on some weird sort of bread... tortilla... wrap... huge flat thing. I don't know what it was, but it was not very good, not for that type of sandwich anyway... I would have much preferred the focaccia bread. It came with a tasty pasta salad that was really the highlight of my meal. Their rolls were good as usual, but the salad was mostly just lettuce with a couple pieces of tomato, cucumber and onion thrown in. Other than that, we got in and out quick and had a nice lunch.

I visit this location somewhat often and at times the food is amazing but others it's just average. Sometimes your meal is nice and hot with fresh soft rolls and other times it is cold with old stale rolls. The consistency just isn't there with this location. The staff is friendly for the most part but sometimes appear frustrated and aren't as friendly. The prices are reasonable for some items but are a little to high for others. I give this location a 3 star rating.

Ordered carry out from here last night. 2 rigatoni abruzzi meals, Caesar salad & 2 slices of chocolate cake. The rigatoni is supposed to be served in a spicy tomato sauce with sausage & peppers. The sauce was non existent to the point that I had to open a jar of sauce at home to add to it. The sausage was chewy and rubbery. The Caesar was definitely lacking. It looked like something you would pick up at a hospital cafeteria. The only silver lining of the meal was the chocolate cake; very moist and flavorful. I thought this would be a viable option for dinner in pinch but was sadly mistaken. Pretty much $40 wasted.

Much like any other chain Italian restaurant, the Bryn Mawr location of Bertucci's does not disappoint. It holds fast to all your expectations of what you think Bertucci's should be. The food is good, served pretty fast and is a good value for the money. Most of the time, I hit this location at lunchtime and I like their lunch $7.99 menu. Sometimes I opt for the Sporkie pizza (which is a $9.99) but their salads and sandwiches are always a great alternative -- and at $7.99 with unlimited salad and their fantastic rolls, how can you beat it at lunch?

Great food, great drinks and perfect service. We ate at the bar and Nick (a Manager) took care of us. We love the pizza with the sausage and ricotta cheese. We add spinach and it is the best pizza we've ever had. We've eaten pizza all over the country, including Chicago's deep dish. Nothing beats the thin, crisp crust and fresh toppings on Bertucci's pizza. See Nick for some great service too!!

Bertucci's is not a bad pizza joint. If you ever go to any Bertucci's chain, ask for nolio pizza (prosciutto, caramelized onions, white sauce...yum.)It used to be on the menu but not sure that it still is so task the chef. This location gets quite crowded so try to go during the off times to enjoy your experience.

Very good chain restaurant. Really good place to bring kids. Food consistently good and menu prices are reasonable. 3.5 stars

Bertucci's is a casual spot for pizza.. better than any chain pizzeria... but not better than a boutique pizzeria. The pizza doesn't disappoint and the value/price is worth going on a Friday night. Probably a good place for large groups and I even enjoy going just for a casual date night. I would definitely go back.

I love Bertucci's. I love the food and the variety it gives. The bread rolls they give while they prepare for the food is really delicious. Sometimes I eat too much of that and be unable to finish my main dish. The waiters are generous, foods are great. It's bit pricey though. Take little more bucks than you think. I would love to go and eat at Bertucci's right now.

My proud Italian mama would smack me for going to a chain restaurant (I dragged her to an Olive Garden once, and afterwards I was convinced she was going to disown me), but I keep coming back for one thing -- the bread. Dear Lord. I usually just get the Caesar salad, because the bread here is so WARM and FRESH that I eat half of my body weight in carbs.

This restaurant was recommended to my daughter so we decided to give it a try as we are fans of Italian food (being from Northern New Jersey). When we arrived, we noticed people sitting outside and we told there would be a 35 minute wait. In actuality, it turned out to be a 20 minute wait and we were taken to and seated at a booth midway back of the restaurant. The décor - booths and tables dotted the seating area....the colors of interior are shades of brown and the lights above the booths are orange cylinders. I noticed that there is a brick oven in the back which the diners can see.....and watch the pizza making. There is also an outdoor seating area which I could see outside my window. Right away our waiter came over, introduced himself and engaged our table in small talk about where we were from......he also laid down small plates as well as a small plate of seasoned olive oil. Next the hot rolls came out..... Our waiter informed us that the menu had been changed (we assumed for the better)...and asked what we wanted to drink. We placed our drink orders and consumed our rolls and olive oil..... Not too long after, our waiter returned and we ordered our entrees. My husband asked for garlic bread but we were informed that the hot rolls took the place of the garlic bread. Needless to say, my husband was a bit disappointed as garlic bread is a favorite of his. So to substitute my daughter and hubby ordered the grilled Tuscan veggies. I ordered a ceasar salad and the lasagna and was informed the lasagna was one of the new improved items on the menu. Good! I thought. Appetizer time.......I enjoyed my salad. It was nicely seasoned romaine leaves of lettuce with big croutons and slivers of parmesan cheese. As for the Tuscan veggies? Well....at first sight my daughter was disappointed as she thought it was frozen veggies. She and my hubby ate them and rated the dish a 6 out of 10. My daughter liked the artichokes and my hubby's favorite was the eggplant. The entrees - My daughter got the lobster ravioli and liked it...very huge portion. My lasagna had meat in it which I liked and had tons of melted cheese on it, making me happy. Not over sauced though. I could have used a tad more sauce. My husband got the pasta and chicken and thought the dish could have used more chicken in it. At this point, our waiter did not return to ask about our drinks and we were all ready for more drinks (took a star off for this). I seem to have a problem called the disappearing waiter/waitress when I go out. Fantastic service and then where are they? Dessert - brownie with ice cream and whipped cream. The brownie was hard....the ice cream and whipped cream were terrific. I think this place has real potential....just needs to clean up some areas here and there...... Dessert? We did order

Reliable middle of the road Italian food in large portions. My child loves pasta, but eats more than the child sized portion and I have to pay for an adult pasta dish sans sauce. Wish they had a plain pasta entree for a bit less. I had the Eggplant Pomodoro from their GF menu. It comes with string beans instead of pasta and it was tasty.

I stopped in here with my family for lunch while visiting the area. We arrived at an off hour so we were seated immediately and since we were there during the lunch hours, we were able to get a fixed price meal (about $8) and it included soup, unlimited salad, and the entree. It was definitely a lot of food for a good price- a perk of dining at lunchtime. The soup and salad were satisfying, but not much to say about them. I ordered the Meatball Focaccia as the entree- the meatballs were delicious and did not disappoint. I would definitely recommend it for lunch. Minor complaint would be that our service was a bit slow. We received our soup and entrees eventually but still had no salad, and had to remind our server to bring it to us. She seemed a bit flustered so we're assuming may have been new- no big deal.

I have been eating at Bertucci's since they used to hand out balls of dough to keep kids waiting in line happy. That was at the other location (Wayne), and when this one popped up closer to home, I was excited. By then, unfortunately, either my palate and taste had progressed or the calibre of food here had decreased...probably some of both. I always want pasta when I go to a place that's even vaguely Italian. That's probably been my downfall here...because their pasta dishes have the distinct taste of being microwaved or sitting around for too long or something just slightly lukewarm about everything in them. That being said, this is still acceptable if I am absolutely craving pasta, and I may as well go here since the price point's relatively low, compared with the other local "Italian" places where pasta is undoubtedly ALSO microwaved, lukewarm, but with a heftier price tag attached. Why I want to write this review is to express my dismay at myself...all this time I'd been ordering pasta here and finding it underwhelming. I recently came back for lunch with my partner and we shared a ridiculously cheap meal with two entrees and unlimited salad and bread (yes, I hear the jingle for a competitor in the back of my head too...). You can't imagine how pleasantly surprised I was when the calzone he ordered came out perfectly baked, oozing with ricotta cheese and other fresh ingredients, and tasting like a million bucks. I would go back here and get pizza after that. I am so disappointed that I was missing out on the obvious meal selection here and thinking poorly of the place because of my own foolishness. Really, if you come here, you should just order something from the brick oven. Lesson learned.

I've been here before plenty of times ,Its small but it does get packed, its a chain resteraunt but every location does things differently. Staff was friendly , the waitress i had made sure everything was ok, my beverage was always full. Icame in just after the lunch rush so i didn't have to wait at all. like the fresh bread and dipping oil they give you as you wait for your meal... nothin better than warm bread out of the oven. Their appitizers are just as good as their pizzas' or other dishes. I got somewhat of a personalized pizza, with riccotta, roasted garlic, carmalized onions with prosciutto and a little bit of broccoli. Oh yea this bad boy was good. No complaints about these guys, next time i know i gotta bring the wifey.. she too is a fan

Faithful Dining Companion and I headed out for lunch during a busy day of shopping. We arrived at about 1 o'clock, just at the end of the lunch rush on a Sunday. Seeing a how we just 'sprang forward' I'm sure they were getting a later hit as people's stomachs still think it's Noon. We were seated reasonably promptly and our waiter showed up shortly thereafter to get drink orders. Drinks came pretty promptly then we made our orders - one chicken piccatta and one rigatonis abruzzesi. Somewhat later rolls showed up. Somewhat after that salad showed up. Our waiter came back and offered us more bread. OK. Except, um, there is no more bread. It's in the oven. Somewhat later the bread showed up, nicely hot though. Note: Don't offer something that isn't exactly available. Then we sat, with dirty roll & salad plates. For a while. Even after we neatly stacked the used plates at the end of our table. Drink glasses were drained. Waiter buzzed by but never actually refilled us. At long last, 50 minutes after we sat down our food showed up. Now, I fully recognize this is a National Chain and therefore dishes are homogenized and standardized. The food was, OK, given that. Angels aren't weeping from the culinary delectability. It was a wee bit bland. Something was missing...oh yeah, cheese. An Italian restaurant staple. Once we flagged down our waiter and got cheese, they were somewhat improved. He also finally noticed we needed refills and produced some more drinks. I'm not sure what was going on here but there were definitely kitchen management tissues, they were busy but not slammed and the pacing of seating should not have thrown them off this badly. Also, our server was, well, not great. Not sure if he was hung over or just not very good at his job.

Great place, fabulous service, fair prices, and the best bartender in the area. Ask for Ian at the bar. Their hot rolls (free I might add) are the best of any Italian restaurant in the entire area. Worth the trip alone.

Wow, what happened to this chain? Very disappointed. Portions have gotten smaller. This only after the waitress got my order wrong of course. What a shame, I'll try another Bertuccis closer to home and hope the outcome is better, but this one Bryn Mawr, not very good.

Friday night waited 20 mins for table. Ordered sausage soup & our fav small pizza. Both arrived at the same time. I prefer to finish soup first then get to a hot pizza. Soup was lesser volume than usual. Our pizza had wrong topping, was lop sided and scorched thru on one edge. Waiter said 'you must like it if you are eating it'. Oh yes he did. I Called over mgr who apologized and waived our bill. Said we were well behaved. Oh yes she did! Bus boy cleared table and we just sat for another 15 mins until waiter returned with the check. Maybe he thought we would just go away? We asked for water refills (our first refill) and said we would like dessert - having a birthday coupon for free dessert. ORdered the big cookie w/ice cream to share. Later told they would have to bake it fresh and would take another 20 mins. Decided on the hot apple crisp instead. It was not hot. Infuriated now, we up and left and told mrg on the way out about the finale . This visit was even worse than last time when we were seated in the enclosed section with a family at the next table. 3 little kids were out of control and we felt as tho Daddy was eavesdropping on our conversation. They too apologized to us for their behaviors. Do I detect a theme here?

Great place and had a gluten free menu which was a huge plus. Our waiter was awesome super friendly young man. Wish I remembered his name but definitely made the experience so much better. Grilled salmon plate was delicious.

Why mess with a winner? Chopped salad went from wonderful to wimpy despite the TONs of bacon. shredded iceberg lettuce almost liquified. Plus a weird vinaigrette dressing. It was my go to meal. Bummer.

Not bad for a chain. My 3 year old daughter likes to watch the "pizza man" make pizza - so she, of course, loves it here. It's better than Olive Garden - but not as good as Bensi's - in the "Scheme of mock-Italian chains". It is also less noisy in atmosphere and decor than the obnoxious Buca di Beppo. I'd go here if it was nearby - but would NOT go out of my way to eat here. At least it's not too expensive.

    (3)
  • Tori W.

Yes, it's a chain. And to be honest, the food can be inconsistent. I've had main dishes that were delicious and some that were just awful. Seriously, like a pasta primavera that had frozen peas and carrots in it. But when the stuff is good, it's good. I've had surprisingly good seafood there, and some of the baked pasta dishes are good comfort food. If you don't want to gamble, the pizza is probably your best bet - and to the person who mentioned it, the Nollo is back. The recently redone menu also includes gluten-free items and some with Barilla multigrain pasta. If there was anything I'd really come here for, it's a) the bread, and b) the surprisingly tasty sangria. I'm not sure it resembles real sangria, but it's delicious.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
