First time eating from LaFontana - ordered takeout as we were visiting friends nearby. Our friends are regulars at La Fontana, and they suggested the Strombolis. We ordered a medium Veggie, and medium meat Strombolis with extra sauce. bottom line - Fantastic. The two mediums was enough food for four of us for lunch. The veggie was full of fresh vegetables, and lots of them. The meat was packed with meat, and both came with cheeze oozing out of the middle when you took a bite. What sealed the deal with me, and I am picky, was the thin, light, crispy crust that didn't overwhelm the Strombolis nor the pallet. DON'T forget the sauce - chunks of tomatos, slightly sweat, and floating herbs make this a required addition to the meal. I will be back, and the veggie is all mine!!

Bad salad, even worse service. An unfinished salad sat on the table behind us for at least 20 minutes. It looked gross. Do these young waitstaff get any training at all?

Food was nearly edible, the service let's not talk about that... Waited 10 minutes for my coke ... Beer sat empty for 5 minutes ... Then ordered second beer keg was tapped half way through ... Was awarded a free half beer half head beer on the house might I add... Can promise I'll never bring anyone here or give a recommendation to eat here.

I ate at La Fontana with my Aunt after a long day of photography the local covered bridges. We passed this restaurant the night before and it's location caught our eye. On a Monday afternoon, I was surprised to enter an empty restaurant but luckily we were able to score a window side seat. As an appetizer, we order the spinach & crab dip. It didn't taste much like crab, but it was absolutely delicious. Like, out of this world, want to lick the plate, can we have a bowl of this instead of a cup, I want to eat this for the rest of my life good. My Aunt ordered the chicken parmesan dinner which came with a salad. The pasta sauce was very tasty. I ate the chef salad with ranch dressing. Both meals were very enjoyable and affordable. Their entire dinner menu was $6.95! Perfect for a college budget. If you skip an appetizer, you can easily get a meal for less than $10.

This place is typically busy, but the food is defenitely worth the wait. I'd call it my favorite restaurant in town...

Can't complain about this place since I've eaten there more often than others. Sit outside during the summer if you like watching motorheads race along Thunder Alley. Just make sure you can read lips or have great hearing.

Kind of dreary surroundings - dark dining room. The Caprese salad came on a bed of very tired lettuce, the tomato and mozzarella were fine, but the visual effect of the lettuce brought it down substantially. The fried calamari was a bit chewy, but the flavor was fine. The pizza - flat out sad. My husband's comment: it's pizza in the middle of Pennsylvania - what did you expect?

this is a friendly addition to market square. the pizza (thin crust-style, like most of the places around here) is very good and the pasta dishes i've had were ok, too. does get overheated inside during the summer though. more of a lunch take-out situation in the warm months, sit-down dinner place in the cooler months.

We ate here a year ago- the kids had pizza and we had pasta. We learned later that they did not make their own pasta- that should have been a sign.. but as a PP said- it is in the middle of PA.. it is not true or good Italian food. I'd stick to burgers in Bloomsburg for what we experienced.

I have to admit, I'm disappointed. The food is consistently good, but the service is consistently slow. Today I ordered a sandwich, they said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I walked around Main Street for half an hour, came back, and they had forgotten to begin my order. I do most of my downtown fooding on my lunch break, and this is the second time I have to eat my lunch at my desk. One day, maybe I'll order here and get to eat it within the same hour. Maybe.

Really nice place to eat. Pizza was average waitress was great and very efficient. If you sit outside be sure to sit on the side street side where the fountain is in full view. Give it a try.

Absolutely disgusting. The bruschetta had minced garlic from a jar...and was piled on the bread so thick it had soaked into the bread making it a soggy, disgusting mess. The clam chowder tasted like someone had dumped vinegar in it or perhaps boiled their sweaty gym socks in the pot. The pizza- mediocre at best. Its a shame such a prime location is wasted on such an abysmal restaurant. Go downtown and eat tri pi instead.

A great little eatery across from the fountain in downtown Bloomberg. Wonderful homemade pasta and great service.

Under new ownership, this is a great Italian restaurant whose menu includes yummy homemade pastas! We've also eaten the pizza and stromboli, both made with fresh dough and the stromboli is a generous size. Bruschetta appetizer is fresh and garlicky, like my Nana used to make! A friend eats there because they also have gluten-free menu items. Atmosphere is casual with an eating area near the takeout counter, a larger room that is separate and quieter, and in the summer, a great place to eat outside next to Bloomsburg's beautiful fountain on Main Street. Service has always been excellent.

Came in on Saturday May 12th, 2012 around 11:30 after leaving Russell's over there prefix menu on Bloomsburg Graduation Day. Immediately found a table for 5 in the shade and sun - outdoors and was quickly approached by the wonderful mature server who was spot on. She remembered our order without writing it down, was efficient and on the ball. My only hesitation about her was the fact that she appeared to be rushing us out after we finished our meal - and it looked like she was trying to turn the table. We ordered a Cheese-steak - no cheese just meat and bread; Chicken Cheese-steak; Salad; and a White Pie along with a plethora of beers - either Yuengling or Miller Lights. The prices were simply unbelievable, portions were large and food was tasty. $10 for a large pizza; $6 for a 12 inch cheese-steak; and $2.25 beers made this place an absolute steal. Overall our entire bill was $68 - I gave the server a $100 and told her to keep the change. If I am ever in Bloomsburg again, I will definitely stop in.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
