Your standard American Thai restaurant. Not exceptional, but quite acceptable and one of the better restaurants in the area (especially for vegetarians). The Taro-Todd (breaded fried taro) was wonderful. I didn't specify a level of spiciness when I ordered my entree (Pad Zee Eeu) and it came without any spice; otherwise it was the way I like it. The Thai Iced Tea was way sweeter than I've received it before and I couldn't drink it. The service was a little odd. The entrees were brought out at very different times, which is probably fine if you are eating family style.

Great food, as close as you can get to real Thai in PA....prices are cheap and the service is friendly!

Absolutely fantastic meal - Set up: Technically, it's a private club. So you need to call in advance, get reservations, and pay a $1 lifetime membership. It's a very small and cozy place, dimly lift, and with seating for about 30 max. Good Thai flavors, traditional fare as seem in most American Thai restaurants Pros: - Cozy atmosphere - Good flavors (not watered down), with lots of traditional ingredients like basil, lemongrass, etc. I had the hot n sour chicken soup, nice and light. For dinner, I had the Red Curry Duck breast. The meat was tender, ingredients were fresh, and portion sizes were GENEROUS - All natural ingredients - Generous portions - Moderately priced - Fantastic choices for vegetarians - And of course, ETHNIC FOOD in the Middle of PA Cons: - It's actually technically a private club. So you MUST call in advance to make sure they are open and take reservations - Cash only joint - BYOB, with limited selection of nonalcoholic beverages - A bit slow and relaxed with service (when I went there was only one person tending to all tables) Overall A really pleasant, delicious, fresh, and moderately priced meal. Very cozy set up, good flavor and fresh/natural ingredients. Just make sure you understand protocol and service expectations before heading there

When you enter, you will be asked if you are a member of the club, and told it will be $1 to join. You get a form to fill out and hand over your dollar. Along with the form a laminated newspaper clipping from 2001 detailing how the restaurant became a club to surmount a zoning law that insists "sit-down" restaurants have 2 restrooms. If you have irritable bowel syndrome you may want to not eat here ;0) Restaurant is in a converted house and easy to miss until parallel to it. Clean, if uninspiring inside. At least almost all the ceiling tiles were unscathed by water stains. I do like that before they seat you are told that it is cash only. Fine with me but sometimes I haven't a cent in my pocket. My Pad See Eww was very good if a bit too salty. Chewy noodles and flavorful sauce. Good Thai iced tea and for once the waiter listened when I asked for "just a little milk." Mango and sticky rice dessert was terrific, a whole mango on top of delicious stick rice sprinkled with toasted coconut!! YUM! Service was efficient if a little dispassionate. I am thinking this is a culinary highlight in this area...don't miss it...unless you like bad pizza or mediocre subs. --Thomas JerseyWeddingPhotography…

This is the ONLY restaurant worth going to in Bloomsburg. As a native of this tiny town, I can attest to its profound lack of dining establishments, save loathsome chains and vile local joints. For those of us who are not contented with tired chicken fingers, Bloomin' Thai is a godsend. Yes, the building and "dining club" concept are somewhat unorthodox but you will get over that once you are indulging in savory spring rolls, pineapple fried rice, and thai tea. The pad see ew is my favorite dish. There are no ethnic grocery stores in Bloom and I really crave flat noodles when I am visiting. Bloomin' Thai satisfies my cravings and makes for divine leftovers. I do recommend placing an order for pickup, as in-house service can lag. Having lived in NYC and Philly, I genuinely feel this place gives a lovely profile of Thai cuisine. Extremely good prices for portion size. Those who are used to the traditional preparations may find the flavors slightly watered down for the masses. I highly recommend Bloomin' Thai if you are in the area and need a break from all the generic restaurants nearby.

It is standard Thai food. Tastes super fish-saucy to me, but it is a nice break from the plethora of boring food places around. You have to become "a member" for $1 to eat there, so be prepared for that little gem. The restaurant itself is interestingly decorated, and the night I was there, we were the only people in the restaurant. The server barely checked on us, and at the end of the meal we had to beg for our check. The server never came by to ask if we needed refills on drinks, or change, or anything. The place only takes cash, so also be prepped for that. It is A-okay, but I like John's in Danville better.

The food here is fantastic. I ordered hot and spicy soup and red curry. I've eaten Thai food all across the country and this is among the best food I've had.

I just love this place! The Pad Thai is hands down the best I've ever had. It is a tiny BYOB that requires a membership ($1.00) because there is only one shared restroom...silly reason. It is authentic & I hear the owners travel to Thailand for their spices. A little hidden gem in Bloomsburg.not the be missed!

Decent Thai food, really the only Thai option in Bloomsburg that we could find as we trekked back east from upstate NY. Prices seemed fair for the quality and value. One major downfall - the service. There was one front of the house employee that handled everything - bus, host, wait, food run, take out orders. There were five tables dining there when we left (we got there right when they opened at 5) and everyone was looking for the front of house person to either fill drinks, take dinner orders, bring glasses (it's byo, btw), etc. I'm not sure if the restaurant is usually short staffed. It was a summer Monday night so it could've been a fluke as it relates to staff to guest ratio, but it could also be a recurring theme as several yelpers noted the bad service. If you aren't in a rush and bring your own booze, you should have a decent experience.

I wish I could tell you about the food. The waiter asked me if I was a member and when I responded no he told me I had to pay a one-time fee in order to eat there. I never got a chance to sample the food because I left.

Thai food in Bloomsburg? Yea! Great Thai food at reasonable prices. Small dining area and would recommend making reservations for a large group. Never had a complaint about any specific dish. I will say if you want your dish spicey, ask for extra spicey. This establishment has been here for at least a decade, and a great place to try Thai food if you never had it before.

Authentic Thai food. Expect to wait a while but that is only because they make entrees to order! Worth the wait.

Best Thai food ever. I currently live near NYC and, despite the endless options for Thai, catch myself considering making the 4 hour drive to Bloomsburg for Bloomn' Thai. The flavors are just unbeatable. And, it is also very reasonably priced! The service can be a bit iffy and weird. Call ahead to make a reservation and become a lifetime "member" for $1. I never had a truly bad experience with the staff though so I think it is still well worth checking it out for the food!

After being spoiled by years of downright heavenly Thai food in Seattle, it's so unbelievably nice to find something comparable on the East Coast!

Food was ok, but all seemed to have the same Thai chili sauce used on everything (it was a great sauce but monotone across two apps and two meals) and wasn't enough to justify the lack of service. Our meals came out so far apart (almost a half hour, seriously) that we ended up splitting my meal and taking hers to go.

We were on our way through Pennsylvania and having read positive reviews and that they are supposedly open until 9, we decided to stop in Bloomsburg to have dinner here. It took us some time to find this place, but we still arrived at about 7:30. When we came in, there was noone there to greet us, and nothing to suggest that we should seat ourselves. So we waited for about 5-10 minutes until finally, someone came out only to tell us that they were closed. Disappointed, we thanked him and left. As we were walking away, it occurred to us that three things didn't add up - 1) Multiple websites show them closing at 9pm and it was only 7:30, 2) Their "open" sign was still on, and 3) Another group seemed to be waiting for food. So my fiancee called them (since they might have recognized my voice) asked how late they were open. The person on the phone said 8pm. We had been lied to. We later found out that this place usually requires a membership and a reservation. If that was the issue, they could have told us that. Instead, I'm left to wonder if the person we spoke to was trying to leave early by refusing customers, or worse, discriminating against out-of-towners. Whatever the case may be, the fact that staff members feel they can get away with lying to customers is not a good sign for this restaurant.

Bloomin' Thai is hands down THE BEST ethnic food you will find in all of Bloomsburg. Granted, I have yet to try the new sushi place that opened up on Main St but for now, my statement stands. You might not be greeted with open arms and I'd say they have to work on their customer service skills. Food times can also be slow but that is understood when you can peek into the kitchen and see that there are never more than two people working and sometimes just the owner herself is preparing everything. It's like you entered her home kitchen and arrived prior to it all being ready, but the wait will be oh-so-worthit. The location is also in the midst of an old home and there are some rooms that were actually a living room at one point in the house. As long as you aren't claustrophobic, you won't even mind. Around 10 years ago when they first opened up, there was ZOMG HUGE FRONT PAGE NEWS CONTROVERSY!! How can a restaurant be open in town without *gasp* two bathrooms for the sexes?? Well, that's the town rule so the owner was clever enough to get around the statute and call his restaurant a "club", thereby allowing it to be open and skirt the law. Touche Bloomin' Thai, touche. So yes on to the food. OK, do I really need to talk about it? I've had over 10 different items here throughout the years and EVERYTHING, I mean everything, is absolutely incredible. If I had to critique anything, I'd say I've had better pad thai because the noodles were soggy the last time I had it. Get the spicy calamari to start unless you're a complete wuss because it will bite back. The Bloomin' Garlic really stands out for me and is my favorite dish. Also, the coconut curry with tofu/chicken is my second favorite. The desserts seem a bit overpriced but you'd have to travel to Wilkes-Barre to find fried ice cream elsewhere. Save yourself the $15 in gas and just order it here. Ah yes, I also can't forget it's BYOB and nothing goes better than a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio than Bloomin' Garlic Chicken, OMNOMONOM *GULP* OMONOMONOM. Skip the local Chinese buffets that can get you sick, this is the real deal.

Good Thai food in a small college town Where there's not much ethnic food to be found Service is slow, so you'll be there for some time You'll need a "membership" but it's not like Amazon prime It's $1 to join, and I believe it's for anyone Delicious food and nice decor, sure to be fun.

Living in Bloom we stop quite a bit at this place. Never disappointed. Great authentic food and friendly service. Take-out can take a while on some nights, but worth the wait. The owners are very friendly and don't mind explaining the menu to someone. Now that I'm finally rating this place, I'm hungry for Thai. Excuse me one minute while I call in an order. :) Gotta get the hobo sacks!

We were traveling on I-80 and traffic forced us to stop in Bloomsburg so we decided to eat here based on the Yelp reviews. So glad we did! Yes there are some oddball elements (food is brought out when it's ready, ie your entire party is served at different times; you have to pay $1 to join their "supper club") but the dishes are truly outstanding and well worth the (considerable) wait. This is a gem of a restaurant and we will now be planning trips around it!

I went here a couple years a go with two friends of mine. When we walked in, a man in a hoodie and jeans greeted us by saying "You don't have a reservation!" (Are you asking us or telling us?). The odd thing was that the dining room was almost completely empty except for one table. He then said "Well, I can probably seat you" (No kidding?) Why raise a stink about reservations if it doesn't matter? He then told us that it was a "private dining club" and that it was a dollar for membership. We paid the dollar and signed up and were seated. A waiter took our drink order which were brought out fairly promptly. We then waited 15 mins for the waiter to come take our order. Only after I got up and practically walked into the kitchen to tell him we were ready did he take our order. I ordered Thai curry, my two friends ordered chicken satay and pad thai. I kid you not, our food came out in 20 minute increments so one person was eating while the other two were just sitting there. The food was so-so. Not bad, but not great. I guess it's the only Thai option in the area but, not worth the hassle of the horrible service.

Stopped here while we were driving on 80. Would specifcally recommend this thai place to vegan / vegetarians. The service is great and very aware of the concern about animal products in dishes when ordering vegetarian. We ordered the summer rolls, vegetable yello curry, and the pad thai. My favorite was the pad thai, as compared to pad thai I've had in Chicago this was delicious. Also the summer rolls came with the peanut sauce on top so heads up (you may want to ask for it on the side). I definitely recommend this place!

5 stars because I think this is consistently the best dining experience to be had in Bloomsburg. The menu is ample for patrons of varied tastes and preferences. The dining room is quiet and relaxed, service is courteous and adequate. The fare is authentic, fresh and full of flavor. The prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering if you order an entree for yourself after an appetizer, you will definitely be taking some home. I would personally recommend any curry dish - ask for "extra spicy". Thai food is best spicy. ;)

What a relief it is that Bloomn' Thai is around to break the monotony of pizza places and sub places that comprise the majority of dining options in this city. Bloomn' was very enjoyable not just in the context of being unique among generic restaurants; it cooks up amazing Thai cuisine even when compared with far more expensive Thai restaurants in more metropolitan cities. We were a party of five, all out-of-towners here on business. What was new to me was the PA tradition of restaurants allowing outside alcohol. We brought two growlers from Turkey Hill Brewery to provide libations throughout our dinner. We started with a bowl of Thom Kah Kai. It arrived in the traditional aluminum bowl over coals. The soup was tangy, spicy and sweet - an ideal combination of chili, coconut milk and lime juice. The soup was followed by four or five entres. The portions are large. A remarkable aspect to me of the food was that ingredients were chosen carefully AND the food was cooked very well. Their simmer sauces and curries are flavorful and they glaze the food in a way that is only accessible to authentic chefs of Asian cuisine. For dessert we ordered fried bananas with coconut ice cream. Again, huge portions. They must have fried up three bananas to complement the three scoops of ice cream. Nice! My party enjoyed good service. They even stored our second growler in the fridge until we needed it. We were the last ones in the restaurant and there was no hurry.

Food was fantastic. We ordered several dishes for our group and all were authentic, delicious, and filling. Place only has one bathroom so you have to pay a $1 lifetime membership fee. Support this great family owned restaurant!

Ok so this probably isn't the best thai restaurant ever. But, it is way better than the thai places I've found in Madison, WI (where they don't seem to understand what spicy means), and definitely the best restaurant I found in Bloomsburg or Danville while I was there for work. I had the prawn and mango curry, and it was absolutely delightful. Their spring rolls were also lovely. I would definitely recommend it!

I love the membership card. The "Bloomn' Thai Phuket Club". Phuket--get it? Phuket to the stupid zoning ordinance that wouldn't let them be a restaurant. So they became a private dining club, with $1 memberships. I still grin every time I think about it. Food was good. Other yelpers complained about poor service and rudeness, but our server was friendly.

The Bloomn' Thai is one of my all-time favorite small town restaurants. It is located in a house and run by a family. The food is 5 stars. Order the Spicy Calamari, Thom Yum Kai soup, Green Curry with Chicken, Spicy Pork Fried Rice, and Bananas with Coconut Ice Cream. Eat it - Pack up the rest - take it home - eat again tomorrow. Repeat as necessary. I do dream about the Bloom' Thai and its food. Once in awhile you might feel as though you are in the middle of a Seinfeld episode....... when dining in. It is all part of the experience. Make sure you call ahead for reservations, every time you go. It does not matter what day of the week. And..... if you have never been there before, you must sign up to become a member. It is $1 for a lifetime of membership. They will ask you for your member number when you make your reservation. The Blooming Thai is a private club. They close early - so the last reservation is usually around 8 - 8:30. And, it is a dining experience so expect to be there for at least 2 hours. Try it out, you will not be disappointed.

One of the things I miss most about my college experience is Bloom'n Thai!! Whenever my friends and I felt like gorging on real food, we'd skip dinner at the dining hall and splurge at Bloom'n Thai. Bloom'n Thai is a unique place. It is located in a house that is not wheelchair accessible (there are two or three steps) and so you have to join their private dining club in order for them to not be sued. The $1 lifetime membership is well worth it because once you've eaten here, you will keep coming back for more!! The food is EXCELLENT. Not only does Bloom'n Thai have the BEST Thai food I have ever found in PA, it also ranks in my top 3 of best Thai restaurants I've eaten at in general (and I've eaten in countless Thai restaurants across the U.S.)!! The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is cozy. If you're traveling far to get here, make reservations just to be safe because there is a limited amount of tables. Bloom'n Thai does not use MSG and there are plenty of vegetarian dishes. You can make a meal out of their large glass noodle soup, but I recommend you branch out and try some of the amazing dishes. I've eaten all of my favorite staples here: Pad Thai, Pad See Ew (or Pad Zee Eu), Pad Khing, Pineapple fried rice and Panang Curry... and they were all excellent!! The spring rolls aren't greasy and the waiters are very accommodating and willing to substitute ingredients in the dishes. My friend Kyle says their Spicy Thai rice is better than sex -- it's that good. I recommend traveling to Bloomsburg just to eat at Bloom'n Thai (I do) and save room for some sticky rice with mango!!

the food is good - fresh, authentically-seasoned (not dumbed down for the small-town palate), and on par with some of my favorite thai in nyc and l.a. HOWEVER: what good does that do anyone if you can't get served? this is a "private club" meaning: you need a membership. reservations required - the membership number required when calling in the reservations and the card physically in-hand when you show up. ok, that's an amusing way to get out of having two restrooms and being certified as a legitimate restaurant but here's the thing... i made a 7:30 reservation on a tuesday night recently for three people. we showed up at 7:35 to a restaurant that only had 2 customers in it. and we were turned away for being late! WTF?!? i know how to jump through hoops for good food. the international soup kitchen (inspiration for seinfeld's soup nazi): been there, happily done that. nozawa sushi on ventura (order a california roll or use your cell phone and get shown the door): not a problem. but a respectably decent thai restaurant in a former bus station in bloomsburg ain't worth getting jerked around for.

I don't think I can express the true depth of my love for Bloom'n Thai...but I will try. The food is amazing. I am a very picky eater. I hardly eat any vegetables, or anything spicy. At Bloom'n Thai... I eat everything. My favorite is the Chicken Cashew. I get cravings for Bloom'n Thai and there was a two week stretch where I ordered it every other day for lunch. I've been to other Thai Restaurants before and Bloom'n Thai is def. my favorite.

Schizophrenic service, a bizarre local zoning politics fight, odd private-house like ambience,... these things might all be a little much to put up with for just okay Thai food. But in the middle of Pennsylvania, that's the situation we find ourselves in. This is the best Thai restaurant in the area, because it happens to be the only dedicated Thai restaurant in the area. I don't mean to belittle their cooking, but it's Thai food as you or I might cook it at home, lacking that certain special something that makes a dish taste truly authentic. But who knows, depending on the customer, the oddness surrounding the business may be a draw. All I know is that it's better than the weekly Thai night at the Old Filling Station in Benton--an equally bizarre experience in fish-out-of-water cuisine, but not quite as tasty.

Moving to Bloomsburg from RI and was worried there would not be a good Thai restaurant. Went right to Bloomin' Thai for dinner the first night and then ate there again for lunch on the second day. The food was surprisingly good. When we asked for spicy at dinner we got spicy and were very pleased. We forgot to ask for spice at lunch and wished we had. The two stars isn't hot enough for us. Very happy with the food!!!

First of all, Yelp has the wrong info. This place does NOT accept credit cards. And it closes at 8, so I was told. Being one of the few Thai restaurants in the area, they are not bad, I would even say decent for Thai food. BUT I will not be going back after going there 2 times, once served, once not served at all. The stupid membership was annoying. I went once with a friend who paid for my membership but I did not get any membership card from her and I did not know that you need it. Second I didn't understand why you need a reservation. When we went for lunch they asked us, we said no, they still served us, slow, but they served us. Second I went, well before closing time, they told me it is closed, and told me to call to make reservation. I feel like thy are not very nice or welcoming and just turn us away because we didn't do certain strange things because we didn't know the "rules". It was just too much hassle for me to go through for ok thai food that isn't even close to my house. I will not return there anymore. You would think with all the money they collected for the membership they can afford to put in a bathroom by now. Part of the dinning experience is the service and we did not get good ones both time we went. oh well...

This is an interesting place - not technically a restaurant, it is a "private dining club." Lifetime membership costs $1, and proof of membership must be furnished by at least one member of your party. When applying for membership, you'll be supplied with a laminated newspaper article which chronicles the decision to go private - it has something to do with local building codes, etc. Once you've gotten past that, the food itself is good, kind of standard Thai fare. The spring rolls are crispy and hot. Entrees have been pretty good, with some spice but not as hot as it might be. The Thai iced tea is delicious - if you've never had thai iced tea, know that it's traditionally served SWEET with milk added. It's a big flavor, but I love it. This can be a pretty popular place, though I don't think they take reservations. I've never had to wait very long for a table. They do not accept credit cards.

It was a pretty lonely Friday night, so I decided it might be a good idea to go out for a while, maybe treat myself to some dinner. I have heard many of the locals rave about Bloomn' Thai and being I am a big fan of Thai cuisine I decided it was time to take the walk down East Street and give it a try. The outside looks kind of like a house. One would not even realize it was a restaurant if not for the neon signs in the window. Upon entering I already knew about the membership fee thanks to my fellow yelper who wrote the first review, so I had my dollar ready. The server greeted me, I told him it was my first time here and that I would need a table for one. He was very friendly and welcoming. He sat me and gave me the membership form to fill out. About 30 seconds after filling out the form and handing him my dollar I was officially a lifetime card carrying member of the "Bloomn' Thai Phuket Club". The place was quite packed. That was a wonderful sign. One should always go where the crowd is. The server brought me a tall glass of water with lemon as I decided what I wanted to order. The menu had many many choices and all reasonably priced. I was hoping to find a dish called "Pad Prik Khing" on the menu but did not see it. I noticed a lot of the spellings were different than other Thai restaurants so I decided to read each description carefully to see if it was there under some other similar name. It was not. I am sure they would have been able to prepare it for me if I asked, but I get that every time I am in New York so I decided maybe this was a sign it is time for me to try something new. I wanted to get something that would fill me for the rest of the night. I decided on the Spicy Thai Fried Rice with chicken. You were given the option of chicken, beef, or pork. You could also add shrimp for two more dollars. To drink I went with the Thai iced tea with half and half. I order this at many Thai restaurants and I must say Bloomn' Thai's iced tea is more tasty than the rest. The atmosphere was cozy and cute. Many Asian cuisine restaurants have a kitsch look to them, this one looks more tasteful. When my dish arrived I was shocked by how much of it there was. They are very generous with their servings. The rice was very tasty. It was spicy but not to the point you are sweating. It was just right. They were also very generous with the chicken. I really wanted to try their desserts but I was way too full to even think about doing so. Next time however, I will try the deep fried banana with coconut ice cream. I forgot to mention - They do in fact take reservations. I heard two different groups arrive stating they had reservations. It might be a good idea to call ahead and reserve a table being this place gets as packed as it does. Overall I was extremely satisfied and I will be sure to dine here again. The next time my friends and family visit me I know where I will be taking them!

Best Thai food in the area. It is a dining club and has a few quirks. See the other reviews for details. Their Pad Thai is great. Their spring rolls are awesome and come out hot and crispy. The bloomin garlic is great too. Always call for reservations even though it is not busy. I think they close early sometimes if it is not busy so getting reservations ensures you will get served. Service is sometimes a little slow but it is worth it.

Watch out --Just got food poisoned after having Pai Thai, tom yum soup and fried calamari here on a Saturday night.

(4)Ali C.

(5)Steve A.

Delicious food! We ordered take out to bring to our hotel while we were in town with kids. The portion sizes are great, very authentic, great flavor. Super good. Note that it is cash only.

Very small place, not for large families esp one with kids..Surprisingly the food was great! Will come back for more. PS: stay away from thai ice it's more like sugar syrup.
(4)Donna L.
Good Thai food in a small college town Where there's not much ethnic food to be found Service is slow, so you'll be there for some time You'll need a "membership" but it's not like Amazon prime It's $1 to join, and I believe it's for anyone Delicious food and nice decor, sure to be fun.
(4)Farrah K.
This is the best Thai food we have found outside of going there yourself. Great find in bloom. Red curry is delicious as well as the pad see ew! This is a go to for us at least once a week.
(5)Tom R.

(5)Abby W.
(4)Sheila B.

(5)Nick M.
(3)Denise G.

Great food, affordable price. Stopped in for a bite on way to NYC. Great for vegans and vegetarians

Part of the dinning experience is the service and we did not get good ones both time we went. oh well...
(2)Bart R.
Private club, you must join to dine here, easy enough, all are welcome to become members. I usually get the Ginger Duck, which is excellent. Never heard a negative comment on this place. It is a good choice! BYOB
(4)Sara G.

(5)Mike C.
