This place is about as good as it gets for getting a sandwich in town - might as well give it 5 stars. For the money your going to get twice as much food than going anywhere else in McMinnville. There 6 inch sandwich is like getting a 12 inch at Subway. If you go in the morning try their "Heater" breakfast sandwich - probably the best morning sandwich I've ever tasted. A little spicy but if I can handle it then you should be able to since most anything that's considered really hot I shy away from. For a the lunch menu I would recommend the Egg, Ham and Cheese. You won't regret your experience at this place. Best in Town!

Passing through McMinville hungry and after reviewing Yelp, we decided to eschew the fast food chains and try this sandwich shop. We were super happy. We didn't know how big these were going to be, so we both ordered large sandwiches. These are about a foot long, like Subway, but wider, and so much better. My club on sourdough (they make the bread) was totally delicious and I had to take half to go. My GF ordered an Italian that had salami, pepperoni and I think ham. This was also delicious. You can also pick up traditional loaves of bread here. We took home a loaf of sourdough and I ate it over the following week. This was just great. This area of McMinville is just littered with sandwich shops. Subway, Quizno's and other sandwich places are all within 3 blocks of each other. Trust me- you will be far far FAR happier trying Sandwich Express next time you want a sandwich in this area. We certainly will return when we are in this area.

So good! I had forgotten about this gem of a place, so it was a no-brainer when it was suggested to us! I had the pesto turkey on jalapeño cheese bread w/ garlic fries...just DELISH! My 5 year old, who orders but rarely actually eats his meal, got the pepperoni pizza sandwich and said its the best! We'll definitely be back more often!

I usually really enjoy Sandwich Express, but I went in to get a cheesesteak today and they were super busy. It took fifteen minutes to get the food, understandable. But when I got the cheesesteak it wasn't toasted at all. I went up and asked and the owner said "the toaster is broken." In a very bothered tone. It would have been nice to know when I ordered because I would have just picked something else. Instead I was stuck with a warm and soggy sandwich, I waited fifteen minutes for, and didn't even enjoy, but I didn't have time to go anywhere else.

I'll start off by saying the food was good. However, the rest of the experience was not. I have never been in before and I had mentioned that to the cashier with some expectation of how things work or recommendations. The only response I got was "oh." The staff is completely unfriendly and unhelpful. I guess that's a fitting representation of this place. The building, inside and out, the parking lot and the grounds are rundown, unkept and maybe even dirty. I had high hopes for this place as the food had been recommended. The rest of the visit, a total and complete let down.

a coworker and i came on a lunch break. we dont know which was worse the girl who muttered under her breath and made no eye contact taking our order or the sandwiches. I got a french dip it didnt come with peppers and onions as the menu said it did. my coworker got the chicken cordon bleu, he said it was like winco pre cooked chicken and cheap lunch meat. the fries however, were yummy and crispy. most likely wont be back

What a great find on our way home to Portland from the beach! Thier bread is amazing and really makes thier sandwiches stand out. The cookies are definitely homemade as well. We got three different sandwiches and we are all of us are happy. We would definitely stop here again.

3 word review: Old school sammys. Whether or not the soup is homemade, I don't know (I didn't ask). I've been a handful of times both in Newberg and in Mac and they are both similar, but I'm glad they've got breakfast stuff in the Mac location - bargain prices and good breakfast choices. It's like going to someone's house and they made you nice (not gourmet, just homey) regular American style food - nothing fancy or weird, just honest simple sustenance. Staff is super friendly, prices are quite reasonable. Other than that, it's a great alternative to the chain sandwich shops that dominate highway 99.

Very good sandwich. The Garlic french fries were fresh and delicious. Will revisit when in Mac Town for sure

"Great little place" Good for a quick bite to eat. Sure beats mc....or bk.... Most of the time it is quite, but Sunday after church is not the best time to go. It has tile floors thus it echos. They are fairly quick and 9 out of 10 times they get your order correct. They do have baked goods, but prices are on the higher end. We get sandwich, chips, and water for two. Under $12

I've never ordered an item I didn't love. They have great cold and hot subs with a diverse menu! Their homemade bread is like no other sandwich place I've been to, it is just amazingly soft and flavorful every time. My favorites are the zesty turkey and the ranch garden burger. They also have delicious homemade soups. Pop in for great lunch specials that can help you save a few bucks! Only complaint is their drive thru is often very long wait!

Such a huge fan of this place. Been coming here for years, and I've always been excited to come here. The chicken cordon bleu is the gold standard to which I judge all other attempts at chicken cordon blue's. The honey dijon they use is outstanding, as I was eating my sandwich I was wondering if they sell it as is. I like their other hot sandwiches as well, but it's hard for me to order anything else but the Bleu. I enjoy their fries as well.

Great food. I'd never go here if Poggys was still around. Miss them. Anyway love the food. Came in today and the floor was a mess. I took my grandma there and she couldn't believe nobody sweeper the floor the 45 minutes we were there. Other than that good food. 9 thumbs up.

So disappointed!!!!! First time here. Thought it would be worth our stop. We Got the turkey, cream cheese, cranberry sauce and avocado...let me rephrase that....1 slice of turkey, tons of lettuce, little cream cheese, guacamole spread, amd cranberry jelly. Total CRAP! NEVER GOING AGAIN. If I wasn't on a deadline for work I would have turned around and demanded my money back...well its for the birds now...

Stopped in here from lunch on way back from coast. Umm can I say delicious. Sliced chicken breast the bread is amazing and the place is clean and quiet. A must visit!

My all time favorite sandwiches and salads live here, although the service here is horrible. Half the employees looked to be under 18, and it showed as they were disorganized and showed no signs of customer service experience. I would give 2 stars but the zesty garlic turkey is just too good, so they get 4. I hope the owner takes note though.

We think the food here is excellent. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients. Some of the employees are polite and friendly. Several are immature, flippant and disrespectful. I ask Business Owners to fire rude employees that refuse to change. No one wants to be treated badly enough to go back no matter how good the food is.

Friday, 23 Oct 2009, lunch pretty good. definitely better than your national chain sandwich places. the theme: trains! I ordered the "Express", on sourdough, no mayo. They made it right. Standard toppings were fresh and in correct proportion to the sandwich. You can add fries (beer battered or garlic) for $1.79 or drink & fries for $2.60 more. I didn't think the sourdough was sour enough but the bread was very soft and fresh. Once you pay, you're given a number to place at your table. As soon as your sandwiches are ready, they're brought out to you. My friend ordered the "Chattanooga Choo Choo". Turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce. This is her favorite. Good lunch crowd present but there wasn't a line. There's a train that goes around the place on an overhead ledge. Yeah, come and check this place out. I'll probably come again.

We still eat here even though we've had 3 hair incidents. Sorry, sandwiches are great, just teenagers like their hair, I guess.

I've eaten lunch here on a couple of occasions and both times this restaurant has served a good quality product. Breads are fresh and servings are large. Highly recommend them and we definitely will return.

Great food, especially the bread and the model train adds a lot to the atmosphere! Would highly recommend the zesty turkey and batter fries.

Fresh-baked bread, free drinks for Linfield students, and artery-plugging cheesy-broccoli soup - what more could you ask for? Ooh, I know, how about a BBQ cheesesteak sandwich dripping sauce and loaded with roast beef and melty cheese? Or the chicken cordon bleu, which I like to pretend is a little bit better for me, but with all that ham and delicious sauce, who cares? Oh, and the fries are also great. Best fast-food sandwiches in Oregon.

I got three words for you: beer battered fries! Before you start talking about eeww nasty. You have got to try them, and if you don't like them well then can I have 'em? Just think golden, brown, and delicious on the outside and hot potato goodness on the inside. So let us get past the fries for a moment. Next we are on to the bread of this "sandwich." You can choose from 4 types (I think, maybe one or two more) of bread, I chose sourdough. I am a carb nut and this was good bread. Like I wanted to ask for more ... just plain bread. On that yummy bread I had the roast beef bbq with cheese. I thought it would be one too many ingredients, but it was great. Nice rich BBQ sauce over nicely cooked tender roast beef slices. With a few slices of onions and green bell peppers. Top it all off with a slice of provolone and cheddar cheese. I had to take half of the sandwich home and it made a great left over. Good food, great service, and all for a great price. Next time I will try something else with a cookie on the side.
