My family is in McMinnville while my husband is on a business trip. Tonight we decided to try the 3rd Street Pizza Company and Midnight Theatre. When we walked in we were greeted by the delicious smell of freshly baked pizza. Yum! We looked through the menu and settled on a sandwich for me, a calzone for my hubby, and some "dough knots" that sounded really delicious. After ordering, we stuck our heads into the single screen movie theatre in the back--so cute! They had tables in there, so you could take your food and drinks in with you. Unfortunately, this is where our good experience ended. After waiting about 20 minutes our order was called, and an employee came over to where we were sitting with a small paper bag and a small brown box. Half of our order was missing! I walked over to the counter and politely notified a worker that we were missing part of our order. He came over, glanced at my receipt, and then informed me that one of the ovens wasn't working and that the calzone had just gone into the oven. No mention was made of the dough knots. I sat back down at our table and we waited. We watched other customers come in, place an order for a pizza, and leave again. Finally, after a half an hour, DH came back with two small pizza boxes and we headed out--no apologies were made for the delay, or for the fact that we had essentially been lied to about the readiness of our order. The dough knots were tasty, but everything else was definitely subpar. Having waited for 45 minutes, my sandwich was cold and soggy, my side salad was more like poorly cut up lettuce rather than bite-sized, and hubby's calzone was deflated and mostly sauce. For the cost of the food, plus the crummy service and lame food, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Too bad, since we normally like to support local businesses.

Downtown McMinnville reminds me a lot of other small college-town downtown areas in the Northwest...Ellensburg, Moscow, Centralia, Bend (which isn't small anymore but its downtown still is)...the list goes on and on. There's a fun and creative yet easygoing and friendly vibe about them, and 3rd Street Pizza fits right in with that. There's nothing spectacular about the building itself; it seems well suited for eating pizza is about all I can say. There is a movie theater in the back...I've never watched a movie there but I have seen local bands play in the theater years ago. The staff have been friendly and attentive every time I've been here. If you like your pizza to have a thin, crispy crust (like I do), then you have found your pizza parlor. The crust here is never doughy or chewy (one of my pet peeves). They have some creative pizza choices too...the Thai Chicken (with stir fried veggies and a peanut sauce in place of cheese and marinara) is surprisingly an excellent pizza. There is a decent selection of specialty and regular sodas here...I've never had the beer or wine so can't comment on that. Overall this is about what you'd expect to find when looking for a pizza parlor in a small college town in the Pacific Northwest. Good stuff.

They are SO laid back here, ah, I love it. I can't imagine what could be that stressful about flipping pizza dough and talking mozzarella ... But when they're busy even, and most nights they are, they're still friendly as hell. And once, I called to order a pizza a little too late, I wouldn't be able to pick up til 30 minutes AFTER they'd closed. Was that an issue? Heck no, they just left the front door open for me. He even waited to start making and baking it, so that when I got there, it was just coming out of the oven, a cheezy, gooey, delicious mess I couldn't wait to sink my chompers into. AMAZING.

The crust is an amazing hybrid of a cracker crust with the density of a regular recipe. The Pepperoni pizza had an 'artisan' edge to it that made the flavors more bold. The 'by-the-slice' pieces are kept on a warmer instead of being oven warmed before consumption--the only real detraction. The service was great; they didn't get my wife's salad on our ticket so they gave it to us on the house. Can't wait to come back and take in a movie as well!

This is in our opinion, the best pizza place in McMinnville. I'm not sure why the bad prior reviews, as they have consistently served a decent pizza on every occasion that we visited with them. Good thin crust pizza, if you like New York Styly pizza and good selection of beer on draft. We will definitely be returning as they have never let us down.

Called our order in as we were coming home from the airport. The Pizza was hot and amazing when we arrived. Walking in your greeted with smiling faces and pizza dough being thrown in the air and the smell of all things amazing Pizza. This is where you stand in line willingly to get your pie or slice with any or all listed post work parents ,after soccer kids and of course teenagers.

The toppings are pretty good, but if you are gluten free, look elsewhere! The gluten free pizza crusts at this restaurant are dry and thin and pretty much taste like some crackers that someone forgot they had in the back of their pantry. Plus, the GF crusts are tiny AND they cost extra! There are definitely better gluten free options nearby, so of you are of the gluten free diet, you probably want to skip this. However, if you are the gluten eating type, you might want to check it out. :)

By far the best pizza we have found, if you order it fresh. Hand tossed crust and baked in a hot pizza oven. The sauce in the pizza is house made and has a small kick to it that I love. It is one of those hometown places, not fancy. Bathrooms need some work. But where can you go for pizza, local beer on tap, wine or bring your own, and watch a movie as well? It is a once a week tradition for us.

The man in front of us gushed to the cashier as he was paying that the pizza was "the best ever." I was encouraged by this endorsement but it did not play out for us, unfortunately. Maybe we were there on an off night. Maybe the key is to order a custom pie. We ordered a slice of cheese (just out of the oven) and a slice of olive and mushroom. In addition we ordered pizza knots (globs of baked dough served with marinara sauce). The cheese slice was meh. The olive and mushroom slice was cold and I had to ask to have it heated. That helped quite a bit but it was still nothing special and a far cry from the best pizza ever. In fact, it made me sad that the other customer thought this was the best. The dough knots were bland and undercooked. What I did really, really like about this place, and why I gave it 3 stars instead of 2, was the friendliness of the staff. That makes up for a lot. It doesn't mean I'll go back, but it did make the experience tolerable. Lastly, the restaurant is attached to a cozy theater in which movie goers can eat their food and have beer or wine. We paid $9/person on a Friday night. There is no popcorn for purchase, but there are a few snacks available. I purchased a peanut butter cookie which turned out to be stale and tasteless so only ate a few bites. Disappointing food but overall good experience.

Delicious Pizza! Came here on a whim and was thoroughly satisfied! Love the unique flavors and toppings. The atmosphere was interesting but perfect for our little family. They were busy busy on a Friday night but the food came in a normal fresh fired pizza. Definitely a must on our next trip to McMinnville.

As I am rather unfamiliar with McMinnville, I used Yelp to search for a pizza parlor for a birthday party. Our choices were not great, and 3rd Street seemed to be the best all around, so we headed over after Wings 'n Waves. After a show of hands on who wanted what, we decided that a large half Hawaiian, half Pepperoni would make everyone happy. So we got our sodas, and headed to the large window front booths. I loved the booths, they were plenty roomy enough for our party. The seats however, still had remnants of the last diners to have eaten there. A quick brush off was all they needed, but ... still. It took about 20 minutes for the pizza to arrive, which is average. We're not at Little Caesars where they mass produce and can have a pizza ready in 5 minutes. As other people have mentioned, this is very thin, New York style pizza meant to be folded and eaten like a sandwich. The flavor was a little bland, even the sprinkling of oregano and whatever else they had tossed on there didn't bring it up a lot. I made liberal use of the red pepper flakes. The girls never went empty on soda, that's for sure. About every few minutes one of them got up to get a refill and always came back promptly with a full glass. We did not go into the little movie theater, but I did take glance and it looked pretty nifty. Definitely an original idea, and I like that. Barring another large group of starving swimmers, I am not sure I'd return here by myself. It was good, but, I prefer a slightly thicker pizza.

On our way back to Seattle from Newport and we were craving pizza. So glad we stopped here. Local ingredients, local beer on tap and local wine. Pizza has light and flakey crust, not too thin, not too thick. Super delicious pizza. This would be our go to pizza place of it weren't 5 hours away!

Love this place! You can buy whole pizzas or pizza-by-the-slice. It's a great place to go with a group of friends to catch a movie or even just kill time on Third Street. There aren't a whole lot of non-chain pizza places in Mac and I think that's because 3rd Street Pizza holds all the cards. Do I love their pizza? Definitely. Would I go here for a movie and dinner? Of course. Would I go here for elevenzies? Duh! Stop in. Eat pizza. Wash the grease off your fingers. And feel better about life.

We wandered in for a small lunch on our way back to the house after running errands. We got there after the lunch rush so the tables could have used some wiping down. They had pizza by the slice or you could order the entire pie. We selected some slices and they rewarmed them for us. I had a nice thin crusted style with sun dried tomatoes on it. It was tasty, I probably would have had more but I was fighting a cold and wasn't feeling any kind of eating. They have a selection of sodas and waters to choose from in the cooler and they may have beer, I didn't look. I would try this place again.

Last night my fiancé and I decided to get pizza for dinner. It was late, we got here 10mins before closing at 9PM. Cashier was polite and customer service was great. Although, the shop was closing soon, cashier asked if we would like to stay and eat. We took our order to go, of course to be considerate. It has been awhile we got pizza from this place, but I can't forget that they have the best tasty chicken wings with thai peanut sauce. The large pizza we got was all meat with mushrooms and it was delicious. We devour the pizza and wings in minutes when we got home. This pizza joint is recommended.

They sort of roll up the sidewalks in downtown McMinville on Sundays, and many of the restaurants are open Monday through Saturday. A few are only open Tuesday through Saturday. With this in play, 3rd Street Pizza tends to attract a crowd on Sundays, but the service was quick and my pizza came out quickly. Maybe because the oven is all fired up? The decor is small-town funky with interesting artwork, more interesting pizza names and books to read while you wait. The booths and tables are large and family-sized, and they do attract more than a few families. I'm not sure if this is the best pizza in McMinville, but it's the best I've tried so far. If you like New York style pizza, this is your place. You'll get the thin fold-able crust you're looking for. If you want Chicago style you won't be so happy. I'd probably ask for extra sauce next time, but otherwise, magnifico! They have about half a dozen (or more?) tap handles with some decent microbrew to wash the pizza down. I think they also have wine, but I wasn't paying much attention to that.

Disorganized place and service is fair to poor. Lots of man power, but efficiency is lacking. Placed a simple order for 2 calzones and waited an hour for them. I had to ask about my order 3X. Pizza is fair to almost good if eaten RIGHT after it comes out of the oven. If left to sit even for a few minutes, it starts to taste like cardboard.

Pleasantly surprised with this Pizza and a Movie spot across the street from our room at the Hotel Oregon. There is nothing exceptional but expectations for McMinville Main Street are not set too high. The place is family friendly with decent slices of pizza and an open seating kind of lobby for the theater. Decent priced tickets $5 bucks a pop. Surprisingly large oddly layed out theater was good enough for a second run showing of The Avengers. It looks like they hedge their bets with the seating up front, rows of seats are not bolted to the floor. Could convert to a decent music venue if necessary, maybe.

Today was my second visit to 3rd Street Pizza and it was my second slightly underwhelming experience from them. Both times I ordered by the slice (pepperoni). And both times they just handed me the slices on the plate without warming them up first. I have never been to a by-the-slice pizza place that does not re-heat the slices before serving. It's unfortunate because it's a decent pizza (love the seasoning they sprinkle on top) but I want to try it piping hot - not just above room temp. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Tuesday is dollar slice day. I had to get two slices since they cut their normal size in half on Tuesdays, but I guess it's a fun way to try multiple flavors of pizza if you like. The next time I go in, I'm just going to have to ask them to re-heat my slice before serving. I would also like to check out the theater next time I'm in. I'll plan to go on a Tuesday to take advantage of $1 pizza slices and $5 movies.

Do not see a movie at 3rd Street Pizza/Moonlight Theater! I almost always visit second run theatres to see films, and love the smaller "big screen" experience, but here the sound system was full of static, the projection had both horizontal and vertical lines down the screen, and the theater seats were so squeaky that I could have mistaken the "Avengers" for "The Symphony of Gassy Mice." At times I heard fellow theatre-goers having full voiced conversations around me, but I couldn't blame them, because the wonderful film was so difficult to hear. The final nail in the "awful entertainment experience" coffin was the food. We ordered a calzone with three vegetarian toppings, and got a tasteless dough pocket filled with tomato sauce. Our brownie was a dried out brown square wrapped in saran wrap (what restaurant does that?). Not even Captain America could have saved this establishment from my scorn.

Used to go here a couple times a month when I'd come to McMinnville to see my boyfriend who was attending Linfield. Now we live in Portland and find ourselves constantly craving the pepperoni, green peppers, olives, and huge fresh cut tomatoes, on white sauce with their delectable crispy crunchy crust that makes what we named the "3rd wheel pizza". Now we stop in on our way to or from the beach. Amazing every single time!!! With a pitcher of blue moon of course!

Bottom Line At The Top: Close to the Highway, Easy downtown parking, good traditional pizza, makes for a good stop when hungry We were out wine tasting in the region and felt it would be good to stop and get some lunch before going to another winery. Looking in my Entertainment Guide I found a coupon for this pizza place and we decided to test it out. A quick search on the phone came up with the directions and we were parked and on our way inside without a hitch. High benches separate each table so you can feel in your own private little area near the walls or windows or you can sit in the middle with chairs. Pizza is served by the slice or whole pie and the enthusiastic staff are busy behind the counter. After deciding to go for the large pizza with sun dried tomato's and pepperoni on half and added peppers on the other side. After that we found seats near the window where the many weekend walkers provided entertainment as they enjoyed the sunny outside day. The pizza arrived in a good amount of time. Nice and hot with cheese melted evenly and the crust solid enough to hold up to being picked up. A large amount of ingredients were used but not so much that it was falling off. Tasting the sauce it had a nice amount of spice plus was evenly spread around the base. Overall it was a good choice for a few carbs and some nice toppings allowing us to go out again to check out a few more wines during the day.

This is a perfect pizza and movie place in a college town. Movie tickets are cheap and you can enjoy their amazing pizza on a couch with friends. I love their BBQ pizza. It has been a few years since I've been here but I have great memories of coming here in college. Prices are so much better here then all the other dinner and a movie spots in Kansas City. They do have older films or more indie ones but I think that's kinda fun. I wish this place was closer to me so I could spend less going out. I dig the laid back vibe here.

We've been eating pizza here for 15 years. It is far and away the best pizza in town. The guys who work in the shop are funky, but very earnest and hard working. Good salads too - BBQ Chicken is my favorite - sandwiches and calzones. The perfect easy dinner.

The atmosphere is your typical pizza joint with big, long tables and you stand up to order. The pizza is great, the beers cold and they make one of my favorite salads....the Greek salad! The pizza is also available by the slice, which is nice for a quick lunch. I've only been to the theater once, but it enjoyed that too.

We went for the movie and had one of their Cobb salads. The bacon was freshly cooked and still warm. The salad was delightful and very fresh and crisp. Although we didn't have pizza this time, the pizza is also very good with a thin yet flexible crust (none of that cracker-like crap). I would rather have the toppings on thicker than they do, but I also think that there's not enough pepperoni if there's any space between the slices!

Bad pizza. Even worse service. We ordered 2 large pizza's today for a family lunch. When we get to the place to pick it up the employees inform us that their large is actually the small. (might want to let us know when were ordering). The employees were way to laid back to care or do anything about it. We took the two small pizzas and ordered some sandwich's from Great Harvest. It worked out ok in the end. The Pizza was so bad that no one really ate it. The Great Harvest sandwiches however were amazing! Don't go here. Its bad in every way

Decent pizza with fairly thin crusts (my preference), good selection of bottled sodas, typical blah pizza house atmosphere. They show movies in a back space somewhere too. I've been there many times and the young staff have always been pleasant and relatively attentive to me.

Took a little while to get my salad because it was so packed. Ultimately, great price for the amount of food! I had the BBQ chicken salad and it wad chalk full of toppings! The BBQ sauce was amazing and the size of the salad was also quite large, especially for being the half size!

Hotter than a figurative hell in there. The pizza was very flavorfull. something moon. Garlic pesto artichoke feta mozzarella. It was pretty greesy and a heavy crust was not very good. Sometimes less is more. Skip this place go to nick s Italian. Don't be scared by the look of it the pizza was better and cheaper. Less choices but it is brick oven and tastes way better.
