My date and I both had a cheese burger with garlic and herb fingerling potatoes, mine was called the forager and came with Swiss cheese or provolone and wild mushrooms and truffle aoili, it was divine! One of the most satisfying burgers I've ever had. The garlic that was fried with the potatoes had crunchy little bits that burst with garlicky flavor. It was a bit spendy at $15 but I guess it's to be expected with a great chef and it being a Bistro and all. Serving size is not large, but plenty enough. Service was great, we ate outdoors on the patio and the chef came out to collect from the herb garden as we waited, much attention to detail is evident. Everything was perfect. Loved it!

If you talk to locals this is the go to place for lunch. We went for Dinner one night. It is very small and communal inside but there is a deck and tables outside when weather permits. The Chef owner waited tables the night we were there. ( one of my pet peeves is... I'd rather the chef be in the Kitchen) . This guy moved up to Jacksonville from the a big city for a slower pace restaurant. He is a talented chef on some selected items. Out of our 4 selection the Risotto was the standout. Wild Mushroom risotto with a rich beef stock, perfectly cooked and delicious. Its a quaint casual place ....good food and good wine and a entertaining Chef owner you waits on you. I'd eat outside when weather is warm.

Really excellent from the Iced Tea to the House made pastrami to the Kaleinator! Lovely patio outside, too.

Love this little, comfortable, casual cafe. Excellent food and service, don't let the small exterior steer you away. Chef/owner Paul is talented and creative!

Delish lunch for our two families. Creative and thoughtful compositions of locally sourced ingredients. Truly a delight. Super small venue - so welcoming that you really couldn't distinguish treasured regulars from first time guests. A true "must" for visitors to the greater ashland area.

I go to brunch regularly, so it takes something really special to wow me. I found that at C Street Bistro yesterday. The green eggs and ham bowl were the bomb. Pesto slathered on sourdough toast cut into crouton-sized piece, with carmelized onions, bacon, microgreens and two poached eggs on top. Coffee was good and strong. Chef and staff were friendly and cool. The specials also sounded really great but I had my heart set on brunch. Definitely worth popping in if you are in the Ashland/Medford/Jacksonville area!

I'd call the C Street Bistro a hidden gem, but in a downtown that stretches out for maybe six blocks total, there's no keeping it a secret. Plus, one of the owners at the nearby Caprice Vineyards recommended it when she heard we were hoping for some vegetarian options. So we came in expecting some filling but humble salads or egg dishes. We got so much more! Seriously, just a cup of tomato soup had so many things going on. A smoky element calmed the tanginess of the tomato flavor that also had a drizzle of kalamata olives. And that was just the start of the meal. I ate the wedge salad because it had bacon (the veggie options weren't for me), and while it was very good, I was pretty curious about the No Cow burger that J-Bob chose. He said it was the best veggie burger he'd ever eaten, and we live in Portland, where if the veggie burgers all lived in the same area, they would merit their own zip code. It had manchego cheese, pickled peppers, and tomato confit, and now I am quite famished just listing those things. Take note: This is a fancypants restaurant disguised in a small and unassuming space and camouflaged in a cute, itty-bitty hamlet that itself seems to be disguised as a two-horse old western village but is actually an under the radar tourist must. It's definitely worth the short drive out of Ashland.

18 seats inside and around 10 seats outside at this upscale little place. It has a unique gourmet-ish menu and lunch entrees cost $9-$16. Everything we had was good. I ordered the duck confit panini. It was a little bland but good. My kids split a texas pulled pork sandwich. They liked it. The sandwiches all came with a choice of salad or tomato soup. I chose the soup and it was delicious. The atmosphere in the place was cool. An older couple inside said that they come almost every day. The chef (Paul Becking) is billed as something of a celebrity. A picture of him with Julia Child sits on a shelf in the dining room. He seems like a nice guy and he was busy in the kitchen with a small staff of four people that we could see.

So many wonderful options, so little time. I can't tell you how many times I've been to historic Jacksonville, but even though the town is small, this bistro would have skipped my notice if not for the rave Yelp reviews. Just a block off the main street and around the corner, it is in a little cottage that might be a little hard to find if you aren't looking for it. I encourage you to seek it out. A couple things that are important to note. Seating is cozy and communal. One of the smallest dining areas I've experienced recently. There were three tables: an eight top, six top and four top, all shared by diners. So if rubbing elbows with random locals and visitors alike isn't your thing, that might be an issue. During the summer months there is some outdoor seating as well. We hit the seating jackpot and some of the bistro's regulars were seated next to us. We had a really pleasant conversation about the area which added to the experience. On my other side, they were talking about rather personal medical issues (TMI people). So consider your surroundings and perhaps leave intimate discussions for another venue. The menu is interesting... a mix of breakfast and lunch items and many featured duck and mushrooms. Absolutely a French-inspired menu which is only reaffirmed by a nice photo of Paul with Julia Child featured in the dining room. We both ordered the mushroom panini, with Gruyère cheese, and it was delicious. Sandwiches come with your choice of side. I chose the flavorful bistro salad and my mom chose the soup. I heartily recommend both options. A modest selection of drinks and desserts are pre-packaged in the display case to go. The only downside was that service was a bit slow. We were there during a very busy time and Paul was the only server. This won't change because there is only room for one person to navigate the small space. Everything was fine, but it was a leisurely meal, not a quick bite to eat. I always recommend Jacksonville as a little outing if you are staying in Ashland, and the C St. Bisto is certainly worth the drive.

Ate here today for the first time before heading back home to Portland. The food here is absolutely delicious, (my boyfriend and I got grilled cheese paninis, while our friend had the tomato soup) and the man who was serving us (who we later learned was the owner, and quite the acclaimed chef) was just a really, really nice and friendly guy in how he spoke with us as well as how he spoke with his employees and other customers in the restaurant. It's a small place with only a few people working, but that made things feel nice and cozy, like I had family cooking for me. We had stayed at a local hotel while in Jacksonville which gave us a $10 voucher that we could use at this restaurant, but by the end of the meal we decided that we'd hold onto it. We had a wonderful experience and wanted to give them our full business. Thanks a bunch to everyone at C Street Bistro! You guys gave me the food and the genuine friendliness that turned my cranky morning into a great day. (:

This place is not the right set up for the food served here. Food was great. They could use more menus, lol. Prices on wine list a bit high. Watching the cook could be better if we didnt have to stare at butt crack. If we do come back then maybe it'll be for the burgers we've heard so much about, and sit outside.

If I had a sixth star I could give to only one place this would be it. This was so amazing! Yes you can park in front! we asked after we parked a mile away. The food was great! I had the c-street special its at the bottom of the menu not sure of its true name. I enjoyed everything about this place. The two guys working did a great job very friendly and fast to serve. The food is great just enough to make you full but not enough to put you in a food coma! The portions are not Fatty American size but the size that you should eat! I always love going to a place that just makes food right! The eggs are seasoned great and the home made ketchup is amazing! The sausage was also great and fresh! My buddy got the hash and he barely let me try it he said it was almost to good to share! The has was to good to share in my one bite I questioned if I should order some to go just so I could eat it later. The meal will get you going all day and kept me feeling great for the rest of the day. I always enjoy food that makes me and my body happy! Thank you again for a great meal!!!! I will make the drive for this it is worth a 3 hour drive if not more. Also side note if your a local they are doing dinners some nights go in and check it out. The dinner menu looks great and the price looks awesome also.

Good food served in nice portions and friendly and attentive service at a reasonable price. I had the daily special which was an open faced fresh albacore tuna melt. The tuna was fresh and the bread seemed to be homemade and delicious. The spring salad that accompanied it was also memorable--fresh and dressed lightly with a very tasty house dressing. The service was great and sitting outdoors on a beautiful Oregon autumn day made the whole meal a good experience.

Tiny, low-key labor of love from the chef, who seated us, took our order, served our food, took our payment and opened the door for us on the way out. The place is so unassuming in appearance it would be easy to overlook, but it's definitely worth seeking this place out when in Jacksonville. We had the bistro salad, the apple cider pork, and the meat of the day, and all were unique takes on familiar ideas. Totally enjoyed the meal, including the eclectic music. Quality food without pretense. Recommend.

I am so intrigued by the 5 star reviews for this place. As always, when I see such great reviews for restaurants here in Southern Oregon and then I head there myself I begin to wonder if the reviewers have experienced the restaurants of larger cities like Portland, Seattle or San Diego. The C Street Bistro is a very small (less than 10 tables) establishment on C street in Jacksonville, Oregon. The menu offers traditional food with fancy titles. The cheeseburger is called the Americana, while a different burger is called Two Pigs and a Cow. This cutesy naming can make figuring out what you want more challenging than it has to be. I know it is a trend in the foodie scene these days to used embellished and creative language as a way to excite the patron about the food, but I often find it overdone and C Street is no exception. In my opinion, if you have good food you don't have to fancy up the menu descriptions. We ordered a cheeseburger, two pigs and a cow, a club sandwich with tomato soup and a pulled pork sandwich. Three of us had the "fries" with barbeque or salt and vinegar seasonings. I have to say, personally, I was really disappointed with the lack of flavor in my "freshly ground to order" burger and felt the bun was overpowering to the rest of the sandwich. Just because burger is fresh ground doesn't negate the need for a little seasoning. My companions felt similarly toward their meals, they were okay but nothing fabulous. Certainly not the best in Southern Oregon or even in Jacksonville. One of the interesting things about C Street was the ipad payment system where the waitress was able to swipe the card at the table. A negative of this system: to get a receipt one must provide an email or phone number to have the receipt emailed or texted. The person paying for our meal was totally turned off by the inability to get a simple receipt without having to provide additional personal information. In theory, a cool thing, but in practice I can see how it creates an annoyance for the customer. Overall I feel like C Street Bistro is a forgettable establishment, with prices higher than the quality of the flavor-lacking food. One positive thing I will say: portion size is appropriate. Often "bistro" signifies smaller portions, but C Street has substantial portions. Two of us only consumed about half of our meals and were completely satisfied portion size wise.

I stopped by here last weekend for lunch with a friend after we'd heard so many good things. This tiny cafe is very casual but you can tell right when you walk in that you are in for a gourmet treat. I ordered the Two Pigs and a Cow burger. Holy moly, what a divine burger. Waaaay better than Jaspers (most people around here think Jaspers is the best burger; I politely disagree). Here, they grind the meat fresh for every burger, and you can taste that extra effort and freshness. This burger not only had bacon on it, but BACON JAM, people. I nearly died and went to heaven at first bite. Burgers come with roasted fingerling potatoes with a choice of seasoning. I went with the BBQ rub and was not disappointed. There are only 2 people who work here, the owners, both of whom cook and work front of house. We met Paul (I think), the bald guy, and he was awesome- totally friendly and full of recommendations. I can't wait to go back and try the duck confit waffles for breakfast! Run to this place now and grab a burger!

Wow, what a find! Jacksonville is a neat little town about 6 or 7 miles west of Medford. Surprisingly full of well appointed, relatively upscale shops for a "mining town." But this little place, a block off of the main street, is really special. We happened in there for lunch after walking around the town, and were greeted by the very friendly owner/chef. My wife ordered the burger, which was ground to order and absolutely magnificent (I know - you don't often hear that about a burger - but this deserved it). I had a great salad with a nice mix of greens, a great house made dressing, add roast turkey and bacon (with the chef's hearty approval). Really a marvelous meal. Can't wait to go back!

Yum! The food is spectacular and the service is great. After going in twice the waitress started recognizing my family. Try the fingerling potato hash with a mimosa and I guarantee you'll be back.

Leland and I went here for lunch the other day, and let me tell you: this is someplace we are going to return to, if for no other reason than to try EVERYTHING on the menu! I had the Gourmand burger (with pastrami and a duck egg!), which was phenomenal, albeit heart-attack inducing. Leland had the C St. Club, and the truffle aioli was absolutely to die for. You can definitely expect to see us here again in the near future!

Our group of four stopped here for a Thursday afternoon lunch based on reviews here and other places. We were not disappointed; like another reviewer said, I'd give it more stars if I could. I'm used to very good speciality restaurants, but am always doubtful of any place that tries to do too much, with too much variety, as something always seems to suffer. Not here. We ordered a variety of different things and nothing was below par We had an Americana burger with fingerling taters, a shrimp panini, a C Street Salad, a couple tomato soups, and blue cheese burger with Caesar. The soup was a surprise; most places heat up some V8 and call it soup, whereas this was a shock of amazing flavor. The burgers were tasty, though next time I'd probably get mine medium. Not a knock on the burger; just my preference. The C Street Salad was a full serving, not some dinky side salad. And finally my wife says the shrimp panini is among the best in memory. Hospitality was down home and comfortable; the owner handled pretty much everything (seating, taking orders, taking money, cooking) and was conversational and friendly. Also, he knows where the food comes from, which I appreciate. Local grown, raised, "no bad stuff" according to the menu. I cannot recommend this place enough. If we pass this way again, this will be on our must do list.

A fabulous shrimp sandwich on the softest roll ever, served with a caesar salad - SO yummy! My friend had a fabulous hamburger, juicy and delicious. We ate outside on their lovely deck, it was a beautiful day and meal. If we ever get back to Jacksonville, this restaurant will be one of our first stops.

Beautiful location with outdoor seating ! We loved the Brussels sprout appetizer that they created for us. It was everything we had hoped for ! The Caesar salads were perfectly dressed and the dressing was a solid and good caesar dressing . The risotto was well cooked , but flavors were imbalanced. There was a slightly bitter taste to it. The portion was small and not very filling. Prices were moderate to high. That's what makes the service disappointing. There was only one waiter who is also the owner. He was really busy and distracted. Forgot to bring us water ( brought it after a while. ) We had to get up, try to find him and to ask for wine since he over looked our empty wine glasses when he served us dinner and never asked if we wanted anything. He was a bit kirt and not a great server. There was no bussers or other supports to help him. Plus no dessert. The food is good, but could work on over all experience.

On my first visit I expected great things after eyeing the photo of Chef Paul of C Street Bistro with Julia Child hanging on the wall and was not disappointed! After having returned numerous times, I can safely say this is the best lunch in Jacksonville!! C Street has it all...friendly staff, local ingredients, charming atmosphere, and a creative chef behind it all. I am addicted to the pulled pork sandwiches (both the bahn mi and the BBQ) and my husband loves the burgers. It really is hard to choose at C Street! I also appreciate that Chef Paul is part of the Port Orford Seafood Share bringing locally caught fish straight to the consumer. He obviously cares about locally sourced, sustainable food. Thank you!!

Great place for several reasons. NW food choices are imaginatively prepared without costing a ton of money. Also, a wide variety of choices for many palates. The burgers are great, cheese and mushroom sandwiches are awesome and the turkey club was perfect. You can be sure that it will be a hit for you. You knew it would be when you realized its not on the main street.

Incredible new combinations that light the tongue. Really delicious food. The slap and tickle burger was incredible. The northwestern was delightful even to my companion that doesn't enjoy seafood. The chefs put great effort into working with local food. A special for the day was hedgehog mushrooms and fiddlehead ferns! the one issue we had with our order was fixed in a snap. We also enjoyed the intimate atmosphere.

Simply put? Best restaurant in Southern Oregon. Worth driving from Medford or Ashland or Grants Pass to come to. Not only in the food consistently amazing (and award winning), the bistro is charming and the chefs welcoming and talented. There is a reason Paul was in several magazines and is featured in a photo with Julia Child. Both Paul and Jeff are gifted chefs with ideas worth sharing. You can't really go wrong: brunch, lunch, dinner or dessert will be phenomenal every time. They constantly use fresh and local ingredients to create new and exciting dishes. Having experienced just about everything on the menu several times, here's the lowdown: Brunch: The duck confit waffle with real maple syrup is one of my favorite flavor combinations. For those scared by hearing "duck on a waffle!" have no concern. It's salty and delicious and not gamey at all. The potato and vegetable hash is wonderful every single time and I recommend adding poached eggs. I've had all the other brunch dishes and every one is worth trying but those two are definitely my favorite. Lunch: The burgers. They're ground fresh to order and are award winning. My favorite is Two Pigs and a Cow which features the house made bacon as well as bacon jelly. The other burgers are delicious as well and the sandwiches are right up there with them. Their salads actually make me WANT to eat salad and Paul's caesar dressing is good enough to be bottled and sold. Dinner: Well, I can't say enough about dinner. Their regular dinner items are over the top delicious but they often hold special dinners that feature courses designed from fresh, local food and have wisely chosen wine pairings. These are worth making a reservation for and attending as often as possible. Check it out. Dessert: Cheesecake, cheesecake, cheesecake. They have their cheesecake brought in by a local cheesecake master. She's is extremely talented and creates extraordinary flavor combinations. I've always been a cheesecake lover and I can safely say these are the best I've ever had. If you ever hesitate about dessert, don't. Try it and I guarantee you'll be very happy. If you enjoy fresh food, supporting local chefs and growers, and want a charming place to take a date or family or yourself... C St. Bistro is your place. It will never let you down. Oh, and if you have dietary restrictions, they have your back so check it out!

This was my second time at C Street, and it did not disappoint! Excellent food, friendly service, and extremely reasonable prices. Yes, the place is tiny (can't seat more than 12 inside or 12 outside). I had the pulled pork sandwich with a bistro salad. My mother had fresh orange juice and a wild mushroom quiche with salad. We ate every single delicious bite. Had a lovely conversation with the chef, Paul, who takes a lot of pride in his work, and makes sure to visit every table. He even told us a great store to shop at in town. LOL The bill for this high quality fare? $22! Amazing. Get thee to C Street Bistro!

I just finished my veggie bleu cheese burger, and I swear I'm in the biggest food coma I have been in in my life. We have been convinced in two hours in this town that we will move here someday. This was an incredible restaurant with amazing food and really spectacular service. Thank you for making our birthday weekend so special!

Sorry to report, very slow service, it took half an hour to get our breakfast, with only a few other customers in the restaurant. Also the Bacon was over cooked and cold. Sausage taste like it was microwaved. And come on who plays reggae music in a bistro. Never again

We came here based off of reviews on Yelp. We were not disappointed. The flavors of the food were amazing- I can't say enough about the quality of the food and the flavors. Everything was done well. We had brunch and my husband commented this was the best brunch he's ever paid for. Perfectly in fact and I can't believe we have never been here before and we can't wait to come back for lunch or dinner.

C Street Bistro prepared an imaginative brunch for me: Sous vide pork belly and whole grain griddle cakes with candied pecan butter and rosemary infused pure maple syrup plus two farm fresh eggs, mine poached. My plate presented beautifully and everything, except for the eggs which were almost hard boiled, was cooked to perfection, with distinctive and complimentary flavours -- the belly pork being particularly yummy. There are three communal tables inside, respectively seating 4, 6 and 8, somewhat elbow to elbow -- and more seating outside on the deck. Question: As we waited on our check I pondered whether tipping the chef/proprietor who serves and cooks for you is de rigeur -- since he's not working minimum wage. I decided I would leave a gratuity, the meal deserved an applause, but then came the bill and payment: They process card payments through Square on an iPhone where several tipping buttons starting at 17% are "helpfully" offered -- including one to leave no tip. So they pretty much decided for me, the proprietor expected to be tipped. I've never fully bought into the supposed social-contract that patrons must supplement minimally paid restaurant workers -- rather leaving a gratuity for good service instead. I'm typically generous. I think restaurants should pay their staff well -- particularly good restaurants such as this one where they charge near premium prices. Anybody care to comment on whether they think the chef/proprietor should prompt for a tip?

Tiny yet charming restaurant with nice staff but I think my expectations were set a little to high after reading all of these reviews. I ordered the burger with blue cheese and caramelized onions and was a little bit disappointed. Something was a little bit off about it. But the brioche bun and the dressing on the side salad were delicious. I also enjoyed the paradise iced tea with orange simple syrup. I would definitely come back but and would definitely order something different off of the menu.

Wow! who would have thought this tiny little mining town would have so much to offer. This is more of a boutique town now. All the richie rich people live here and the dinning is FINE dinning. C - Street bistro is amazing for a quick lunch, sit down dinner or a good brunch place. solid food, great service. Will stop by again next time I am in town.

Very cute bistro with limited seating so it pays to get here either early or late. This is a labor of love and it shows in the unassuming establishment and the food. The friend I was with on my last visit there had a couple of special requests which was handled without complaint. Many vegetarian options. The soups are wonderful.

Nice stop after an afternoon of wine tasting. We had a play in Ashton in the evening, but really didn't want to go back to that busy little tourist town for dinner, so we stopped here. We all had burgers that were very tasty. Sitting on the patio was also a very pleasant place to eat.

I'm not a yelp reviewer but this place has inclined me to write a review. First of all the ownership and staff is incredibly personable. Right off the bat they are in the front of the house making recommendations if you ask. The draw to this place is that all their ingredients are organic and fresh. I had one of the burgers with gruyere and organic mushrooms with truffle. I have had the burger at le pigeon in portland which is award winning and this tips it. On top of that my appetizer was the from scratch tomatoe soup that was delicious. If you can make it in when they are open this is a MUST HAVE when visiting the Jacksonville, Medford, Ashland area. It won't disappoint.

I have the bad luck to work across the street from the Bistro - lovely food scents waft my way all the time, and the pleasant sounds of happy people getting into their cars make me want to take a break constantly! I wish I could eat there more often...but as it is, I have had the immense pleasure of getting to know my neighbor Paul (owner and head chef) and some of his fabulous menu. The burgers are the best we've ever had, and we hear many others say the same all the time - in fact, Paul has a count of the times he's heard that...well over 100 by now. Tasty, locally raised, freshly ground beef for each order, they are the most tender, juicy, awesome burgers ever! We've observed other patrons savoring every bite of theirs as if it were the last thing they would ever eat. His ingredients are locally sourced and mostly organic, yet the prices are not over the top. The home made ketchup, and likewise the tomato soup, is incredible. Having a thing for wild mushrooms, I like the mushroom panini (get it with the truffle aioli, it's fabulous!) and the Forager burger, both of which feature a mix of locally gathered mushrooms from chanterelles to morelles and Gruyere cheese. My husband, a Bleu cheese lover, always gets the Boucherie 3, which features bleus from the famous Rogue Creamery. I've also had the pulled pork - killer! He's very knowledgable about wines - both local southern Oregon wines and others, so it's easy to find something that will pair with your food beautifully. Oh, and don't forget to have a bite of one of the lovely home baked mini cheesecakes for dessert! Gourmet flavors and healthy ingredients with portions that are satisfying, but won't put you to sleep on your way home, in an unpretentious and friendly atmosphere - what more can you ask? It's hard to experiment with other items when you love the ones you've had so much, but you know, I work across the street, so I'll be trying more...and I hope you will too!

We tried to eat at the Jacksonville Inn, but it was closed for lunch (Tuesday), so the host (?) steered us toward this bistro. We are glad he did. It is a small place, but nicely decorated and has outdoor seating. The menu is one of the most interesting I have seen in a bistro. We ordered the burgers and watched as they ground a slab of meat to order for one of the freshest and most delicious burgers we have every enjoyed. I could have swore the chefs were brothers, but I asked and they are not. I guess like a married couple, they just start looking like each other after working together so long! There is a photo of one of them with signed photo of Julia Child, so obviously he was been in good company. There was a quote by Julia below the picture. I don't remember what it said, but it was nothing about butter (shocking!). Absolutely give this place a try if you are in Jacksonville. It will not disappoint.

I just echo what so many others have to say! Chef-owned and very friendly restaurant, although it's a bit small and if it is busy you may have to wait a bit. It is well worth it! Every morsel we had here was delicious, the fresh ground burgers are so flavorful and the chef really knows what he's doing. We won't miss this place when we head through town again, and neither should you!

This place is worth a drive out to Jacksonville in itself (although the town is a really fun place to visit as well)! My mom and I stopped here late in the evening to have a bite before heading back to our hotel, and it was delicious! I had the lobster mac n' cheese, my mom enjoyed the spinach and mushroom napoleon. Everything on the menu looked incredible, and I have heard the burgers are the absolute best around, but the owner told us he was going to switch up the menu in the near future, so I recommend getting in there now to savor what is currently offered - and planning a trip back to test out the new dishes!

I just so happened to stumble up on this amazing gift to Jacksonville this afternoon with one of my dear friends and both of us were completely speechless! Congratulations on a job well done! We both enjoyed some burgers that were everything we wanted and more! I wish I would have saved room for the creme brulee' that was on display.... next time that's what I will start with. What a great way to enjoy a sunny lunch! Thank you!!

As working parents of young children, we're not the most experienced fine diners, but this place is around the corner from us and we've heard only good things. We went on a Friday night for the prix fixe dinner, and we had a really good experience. The chefs were accessible and never pretentious, but the food was unapologetically classy. It's a small place and we felt like our visit mattered to them. The lamb tartare (we had to ask what tartare is) was delicious--mild and perfect, on crostini with a mint-basil paste. New York steak with ratatouille and a truly top-shelf cheesecake. We had a wonderful meal and a great experience.

I have a black belt in barbecue; I have eaten rak orret in the mountains of Norway, rotten turtle eggs on a South Pacific isle, rat-shit chili peppers in Burma, and taken a bite straight from the flank of a live skipjack tuna. I am experienced. And...C Street Bistro is my favorite restaurant outside of Tokyo. Enjoy!

Delightful lunch. We were impressed by the tomato soup and pulled pork and grilled cheese sandwiches. The chef is very friendly too!

The Rogue Valley, and southern Oregon in general, could use more restaurants like this. Everything we have had here is amazing and has both simplicity and imagination. As others have mentioned, it is pretty tight quarters and one would benefit from calling ahead during the colder months for a reservation unless dining in the great outdoors when it's 15-50 degrees temperature sounds appealing.

If your like me, your obsessed with the Food Network. I love learning about "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" as well as well as insight from celebrity chefs on "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" to name a few... then trying to replicate the recipes (if brave enough). I'm always on the prowl for a restaurant that I feel may be worth the trip by the Food Network for one of its shows. Well folks...I think I may have found it in Jacksonville's "C St. Bistro". Chef Paul Becking is no stranger to Celebrity Chefs or the Food Network. He's cooked for Julia Child. And his last venture, Elements in Santa Barbara, was featured on "Giada's Weekend Getaway" and Rachel Ray's "Vacation". So, enough of the hype lets get down to business. The C St. Bistro is located in what was "The Country Cottage"... An intimate location with the charm of a family kitchen. Chef Paul pays attention DETAILS. Examples of this included his Roasted Tomoato Soup - The Best I've Ever Had (Topped With Lemon Pepper Sour Cream and Olive Puree), Two Pigs and a Cow (Hamburger with Maple Bacon and Sweet Pork/ Jelly), The Bourcherie Burger (Ground to order with carmelized onions, slice tomatoes, shaved iceburg lettuce and house-made ketchup), Sea Salt & Sherry Vinegar Butter-Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, his spin on a Warm New Orleans Muffaletta - Brings me right back to the Central Grocery in New Orleans (Sicilian Bread Loaf, Capicola, Salami, and Mortadella, Topped with Melted Emmentaler and Provolone with curshed olive and pickled vegetable spread). My personal favorite is the Southeast Asian Style Braised Pork Shoulder Sandwich (His spin on the Vietnamese Ban Minh, with "Thaibama" sauce, pickled carrots, daikon radishes, seedless cucumbers, cilantro, on a honey wheat roll). C. St is open for Lunch and Brunch. His brunch menu, which I have yet to try, includes a Waffle and Duck Confit...(His spin on "Chicken and Waffles"). Chef Paul said he's working to do two seatings for dinner (Friday and Saturday). So, whether you live/ work in Jacksonville, Live in Southern Oregon, or just passing through... C St. is definitely worth the trip...

The ambiance is friendly and inviting. I had one of the best Hamburgers of my life. It, literally, fell apart in my mouth. My wife ordered a muffaleta and compared it to the ones she ate in New Orleans, which is where I am from. The workers are kind and talkative.. clearly excited to hear about the food they are cooking. The portions are perfect. They serve te "Mexican' style Coca-Cola in the bottle... I love this place. Just..love it.

Loved this place! For breakfast, had the waffle with duck confit, candied pecans, topped off with a duck egg. Delicious! Friendly service too.

This restaurant was amazing. The best meal I've had all year. I ordered the pit smoked pork which was served on a bed of delicious yellow grits with mustard greens on the side. Definitely get the bistro salad with it. The caramel pecan cheesecake is unbelievable and is very possibly the best cheesecake I've ever had. Make sure to share it with someone else. As I was eating, my second thought after "this is AMAZING" was "I really wish this restaurant was back home so I could eat here twice a week."

In town from Los Angeles and found C St. Bistro on yelp. It did not disappoint. We ordered the forager burger and pork over sweet corn cakes. Fresh seasonal ingredients and a unique combination of flavors make this place a sure bet. The service was great, super friendly. On our way there, I stopped to ask directions to the bistro and the guy said I had discovered the best kept secret in Jacksonville. Now that I have been there, I concur.

We are a local couple and were looking for some place "new" to try last night for dinner. My wife Yelp'ed the C St. Bistro and was impressed by the positive comments left by previous patrons. Lucky for us, this breakfast/brunch/lunch restaurant is currently promoting a "Farm to Bistro" dinner menu on Friday and Saturday nights. The menu: Amuse Bouche Beef tartare on a cucumber chip. 1st Course Alder smoker albacore and arugula salad w kalamata olives , local heirloom tomatoes and white balsamic vinaigrette. Main Course Smoked paprika beef brisket w chantrelle, sweet corn and fingerling potato succotash. Dessert Peach shortcake w vanilla whipped cream. All offered for $30! (We chose the $45 option which paired each course with Caprice Cellars wines). Are you kidding me? Wow! Amazing value. Amazing quality. Amazing flavor. One of my favorite meals in years. These guys are talented. Don't bother with the drive to Ashland for your next "special occasion" dinner. Atmosphere is casual but friendly (with only the chef and one other guy working the 4 tables inside). After browsing the regular brunch / lunch menu, I can not wait to head back and try the Duck confit waffles.

Paul and Mike create and serve absolutely wonderful food. Small, intimate bistro in a wonderful U.S. historic designation town. The new dinner menu is very interesting and consistently tasty!! It's the way they prepare the food that brings the flavors forward. They love to chat food - just ask - you'll learn some great culinary ideas.

My wife and I had lunch at C-Street Bistro this week on a one day visit to Jacksonville. We chose C-Street based on Yelper's recommendations, as with almost all our restaurant selections. I Regret to say this one was a disappointment. My selection was the smoked salmon sandwich with the side of mixed green. The sandwich bread was cold and hardened toast, extremely unappetizing. Moreover the smoked salmon filling was very thin, barely taste-able. The side of green was the only good thing about this meal. The price of $14, by any measure and comparison was far too much. My wife chose poached eggs and bacon. Her meal was better than mine, but nothing special at all, especially when you consider the price of $13. It is not likely that we will visit Jacksonville again, but I just wanted to bring an objective balance to all these 5-star ratings (that I can't believe to be possibly objective) in order for other visitors that may want to eat at C-Street Bistro

The food is good but the portions are on the small side, the chairs are uncomfortable and it gets really hot in there! We will probably grab a burger and sit outside next time if the weather allows.
