Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

This place has been my favorite for years! The food is always great, and the portions are big enough to share. You won't get a better margarita anywhere in this town! The staff is always smiling and friendly. It's the kind of place where the server remembers your usual order. It's a fun family atmosphere. No one will give you dirty looks if your kids get over excited. This place is a great experience every time!

A real hidden Jewel for the I-5 Driver, Yelp got us here and the great food, friendly family atmosphere and the great service will get us back! Great Food, great Drinks, Great Service! If there is more to ask for I have forgotten what it was while dinning here!

When you're in cottage Grove there are very few choices for a good dinner and it's easy to lose hope. This is our second visit to this Mexican restaurant. It's off the freeway a little bit in a very run down the strip mall. Walk inside and it's incredibly different. The food is great and the service is exceptional me and we have never been disappointed. If you don't see what you want on the menu ask and I'll put it together for you. They have some special drinks for the kids that are like milkshakes - señorita rosa is a strawberry smoothie. Good prices great food great service better than what you can sometimes find a bigger town

Best option in the area if staying at a hotel off I-5. You cannot walk there-- because there is no sidewalk to get there from the hotels and you'd basically be walking on the side of a highway. The staff is welcoming and the salsa is good. Food will come quick, no long wait. The chicken in the mole and enchiladas was tender and fresh. The enchilada suiza had an interestingly sweet green sauce on top (usually familiar with the dish having a spicy tomatillo sauce). Not full of flavor, but tasty enough. Whole beans or refried are offered with rice on the dishes. Decor is.... Eccentric? I definitely recommend if needing a quick sit down meal (that isn't fast food) if staying the night in the area.

We both had chicken fajita, the spice on the chicken was a little strange. Service was a little pushy, then attentive then they altogether forgot about us. We were not impressed, especially considering the high ratings it got. Chips and salsa were good though.

This is my favorite place to eat in cottage grove. The prices are fair and the food is amazing. I recommend the carne asada. Go check out Toreros!
(4)Samantha H.
Toreros has the best and most friendly service! They have the best chunky salsa I have ever had!! I love going there with my family and my friends. They are really good with children. The food is consistently amazing! Always fresh, hot, and delicious. The price is right for day night.

I'm from San Francisco where there is Mexican on every corner and this restaurant was excellent. Our meals were very authentic and the margaritas outstanding. I wish we had a place like this by our house. The salsa was just decent but the rest I would have again. The service was such that you knew it was family run and they took pride in what they did. The place is also spotless!!! Always a plus.

Not bad for being so far from Texas. Chips and salsa were fresh. Food was really good(not great, but not bad) and service was descent. If we lived here I'd go again but not something I will crave after we are gone. :)

Starts of with yummy chips and salsa. The chicken chimichanga is really good. The beef chile rellano was filling too. Overall a great experience. We didn't enjoy the loud music. They serve Pepsi products.

Good basic Americanized Mexican food. Tasty salsa and chips. The other standard items in West Coast Mex places. Staff is really friendly and nice. They do offer a Chile Relleno with meat it - very delicious and unusual. There are 2 other big Mex places in town, I think this one is the best.

Super happy with our meals, food was great had lobster enchiladas & the seafood was perfect not overcooked. Also had fajitas & they were very good too. Servers were on top of it, we love very hot salsa & when we asked for hotter then the stuff they served with the chips, they made it for us.
(5)Jackson L.
Love coming here for endless chips and Carne Asada! Service is awesome always and food is always great. This is THE BEST mexican food in Cottage Grove. Accept no substitutes!
(4)Cody Y.
Super good!! Best Mexican food in town hands down. Very consistent! Never gotten a bad plate in the dozens of times I've been there. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, and great food. Highly recommend!!
(5)Nic B.
Great Mexican food! I drive from Eugene to eat here because it's the best in the area.

My boss took me here... like Korean food, I wasn't expecting a great Mexican restaurant in Oregon. Boy was I wrong. I tried their Chicken con mole, and it was awesome. The iron steak my boss had was great too. I preferred their chunky salsa, but overall great food. The staff were very friendly, granted my boss goes here like at least once a week! If you are around here, check them out. They also have three other places in Oregon!
(4)Ginger S.
Great food, great service!
(4)Jennifer F.
Great salsa, good food, inexpensive, clean restrooms & right off the I5
(4)Tara S.
Made a trip there in beginning of July just for their food w/my daughter and sister. Have eaten there before. Food served. Third bite into enchilada and lo and behold a ginormous fly in it!! Lovely I said and well none of us were hungry after that and couldn't eat. Still had to pay though because that is the kind of customer service they have. Never ever gonna eat there again. I've told everyone I know and also posted on CL and FB. Putting the word out, not a good place to eat anytime of the day or night.

I live in So. California, so I am no stranger to Mexican food. About ten years ago I was visiting my dad in this little town called Cottage Grove, and he took me there for dinner. I thought- yeah right, good Mexican food in the middle of Oregon? Um, YEAH! Holy Cow, I was shocked. It literally is one of the very best Mexican food places I have ever been to. When we take family vacations up to visit my Dad, the thought of Toreros gets our mouths watering before we can say goodbye to the smog, and it's a MUST STOP during our visit! I did give it only 4 stars instead of 5 because their beef dishes are definitely better than their chicken. My husband tried a bacon wrapped shrimp dish that he said was to die for (I don't eat seafood), and literally has not stopped talking about it.
(4)Todd M.
Nasty, salty boiled chicken? And you really wanted me to pay for this? I'll not be going back.
(1)Angel H.
Great Salsa and Carne Asada!! Waitress keeps your chip basket and salsa and water glasses full at all times. We were in Cottage Grove for two days and ate here on BOTH of those days. That's how delicious it was! We will definitely return here on our next visit to Cottage Grove.
(5)Dan F.
It's likely been over 15 years since eating here. We were disappointed back then. But this time our food was delicious. Service was excellent and we will return again.
(4)Shelly D.
Delicious food, big portions, quick service and sweet owner Ana Mora, My favorite dish is Carne Asada Barbara!
(5)Pani L.
The staff is friendly and the food is good. Good portion size for the money. I always order the Chicken mole and is the second best I have had in the U.S. Easy to find not too far off of I-5.

Excellent food, authentic mexican food- DELICIOUS. After traveling a 12 day roadtrip, eating out every meal, restaurant food does get rather boring. Being mexican myself I am leery of going to mexican restaurants in fear of disappointment. Staying in the middle of nowhere, luckily I searched YELP for help. Following the review prior to mine, we gave Toreros a try. I had the best homemade Sangria and Enchiladas Suizas. Tasty tasty tasty- There were 7 of us, and we were all very pleased with our meal, service and the authenticity of the food.
