Hands down the very worst Chinese food I have ever eaten... I would rather eat greasy food court Chinese than this... I wish there was at least one redeeming quality, but even the fried rice was terrible, and that's about impossible to mess up :(

The restaurant looks nice, but, the food isn't anything to write home about. Well, actually it is, just not in a nice way. We ordered takeout and I LOVE me some good Chinese food, but, sadly, we ended up tossing much of it. If you want GREAT Chinese food, I'd recommend driving down the road to Wan Lung. They're incredible.

About 4+ years ago I frequented this place once or twice a month for lunch and I really enjoyed the food. Have been retired since then, but went back this week. Not the same place at all. All the other bad reviews are spot on, this is a very poor restaurant in every respect..

We've been here a few times before and it's usually pretty empty. They seem to normally do more takeout than dining in. Valentines Day was a different story. It was pretty busy. Staff is nice and friendly, but seemed frazzled. We ordered 2 combo dinners, Mongolian beef and curry chicken. Took over 45 minutes to get served. Another table that came in and ordered after us started teasing about what we ordered because they were served way before we were. My husband's Mongolian beef was tasty. The fried rice and fried shrimp were just okay. My curry chicken was not good. I wasn't expecting deep fried chicken and the sauce didn't taste like curry at all. In the past, and have had cashew chicken and that was fairly good, so I was disappointed. Sad because this place is so close.

Had the sweet and sour chicken ... wasn't bad, we've had worse. Service was not great. We waited a good ten minutes before anyone greeted us at our table. Once we placed our order, the food did come in a timely manner and the waitress did come back and asked us how our food was ... not sure if it was because she saw me checking out reviews for the place or not ... overall, not horrible. We might go back next time we're craving Chinese food.

Quite possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever tasted. I'm not very hard please, but this food was awful. Each bite was under-cooked and salty. They were not very accommodating with my vegetarian diet and the service was terrible. I saw my waitress twice: when she took my order and when she brought my food. The restaurant was completely deserted while I ate and I was unable to get a refill on my drink. I was only able to get my check after I stuck my head in the kitchen to get someone's attention. After signing my credit card receipt, the cashier handed it back to me and pointed the the tip line expectantly. I will never go back.

We stumbled into the Lucky Star in 2005, since then we have moved 20 miles away and have not found a better Chinese Restaurant within 20 miles. The food is delicious and is always served fresh, hot and prompt. The service is quick and very attentive. The atmosphere is clean and upper class and the lighting is bright. The owner has remembered us by name even though we aren't able to visit very often. Highly recommended!

It has been 2 years since I first ate here with my family. It was yucky then and it's still yucky! The prices are high, the food is mediocre, the service is slow and terrible, the bathroom is dirty. Seriously, They should reconsider changing the name to "YUCKY & SUB-PAR" instead of it's current name. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone who wanted (even) decent Chinese food and I am most certain that I will never eat here again.

Came in for lunch and had Sesame Chicken. Price was really good, and the food went down quite easily. Had good flavor and the pieces of chicken were cut to a manageable size. I hate when you order a chicken dish from a Chinese place and it's just huge hunks of "meat." I'm not sure I'd be as happy with my experience if I had to pay full dinner prices, but as for a lunch special, it more then palatable.

I got a wonton soup here to go. My brother just moved across the street and my boyfriend and I were hungry so we stopped by, he got godfathers next door and I got the soup. The waitress was very nice and polite but the soup was awful. I ordered a small and it was huge and costed almost $7. The meat was chewy, the wontons were just noodles with nothing inside, the broth was very bland and the only flavor that it did have was not good. I couldn't even eat it I ended up sharing my boyfriends small pizza with him. I can't speak to the rest of the menu but judging by other reviews it's probably not very good. I should have checked help first or took the fact that there was nobody else there as a clue. Good thing my brother is taking us to a nice restaurant later for helping him move.

Incredible family and friendly environment. Have been coming here since 2006 they have been absolutely amazing. They treat everybody as apart of their family. Every part of the restaurant is clean and taken well care of. The food options go beyond just Chinese food, and pass Chinese gourmet and fine dining. Food is always reasonably priced. The staff always checks to see if you need anything else in a friendly, non annoying manner. Public restrooms are available as well as free water :) always happy with the service and food experience provided by Lucky Star :). You can't leave or enter without a thank you and have a nice day :)

Like many other reviewers have said: this is probably the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The soup (I had both of them because I sent the first one back) tastes like it had some sort of intestine in it and the vegetable choi mien consisted of only two types of vegetables: broccoli and onion. Avoid spending your hard earned money at a place that doesn't seem to care about quality.

This place was recommended by a coworker more for its atmosphere and treatment of its customers, I suspect, than for its food. We arrived on a motorcycle in the late summer...not the best choice since leftovers are always the thing with Chinese food...and hard to carry with no saddle bags. Portions were large, use of cornstarch, tapioca starch or similar thickeners was a little over the top on most of the dishes we tried--Kung Pao and Orange Chicken and the like. Fried rice was not well fried...and not enough soy sauce in the cooking process. Decent, but there are better places in the neighborhood.

On a quest for the best chinese food, and this was clearly not. The food was bland, the notation of "spicy" on the menu, was still bland, and I am not big on super spicy...and I wanted more! The Kung Pao Chicken was drowning in sauce, the fried rices was undercooked, and the barbecued pork had no flavor. Too bad, it's a good location, quite, seemed clean...

I was a little hesitant on coming here at first but was pleasantly surprised to find that inside, the place seemed pretty legit. Given the location, I was not surprised to find that it was completely empty when I arrived and I only ordered to go, but I liked that I was greeted right away and the person taking my order was very nice and patient with me while she waited for me to make a decision. The food came out pretty quickly, and when we finally got home to try it, I didn't think it tasted too bad either. I mean, it wasn't amazing but it wasn't terrible either, it was okay. I'm definitely willing to give it another try.

Being Chinese and having grown up on authentic Chinese cooking, I am always skeptical when I try Chinese restaurants. I never expect them to be authentic, but I do expect them to be good! Lucky Star in my opinion, is neither. My first experience there I ordered beef fried rice and an appetizer of silver wrapped chicken (which I've had before at a place out in Gresham and it was great, so I thought I'd try it here). My brother got an order of egg fooyung and some crab puffs. Everything was loaded with salt. My fried rice was soggy, the chicken looked...interesting and that made it hard to eat. My brother's egg fooyung was dry, salty, and the crab puffs had very little crab. I did decide to give it a second chance a few months after this and just ordered the beef with broccoli. It was okay, but nothing special.
