Every vacation I take has at least one amazing meal. This was it! Corned beef hash was the special, and special it was. Possibly the best breakfast I have ever had. You cannot come to the wine country southwest of Portland and not eat here. Trust me.

Awesome place to get some made to order great food. My daughter got some fresh biscuits and sausage. I got the special: Carlton Bakery brioche French toast with Caramelized bananas and crispy bacon. We brought the dogs to sit outside and enjoy breakfast, but it was too stormy. Love how they have this place set up like a park and so welcoming.

My girlfriend introduced me to this place and I must say that I will make a point to come here every time I am in wine country. This was by far one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have had and hands down the absolute best bacon I have tasted. Do yourself a favor and try this place out.

Fantastic home-cooked meals. We split a breakfast burrito and a biscuit this morning that was outstanding! Also, they were really great with our dog and even sent us home with a little bag of dog treats for her. We can't wait to go back!

This place is fantastic! Even if you don't live close, the drive is worth it. The food is simple, yet perfectly cooked and delicious. The breakfast sandwich was my favorite item. The property of the diner is charming, even kid friendly. You need to experience it for yourself to understand. I highly recommend it.

Was told to check this place out by a friend and I was not disappointed. Great breakfast, big portions. Outdoor seating, so the experience might depend on the weather, but it was really nice when we were there.

This is a great spot for good quality food at an affordable price. I always make a stop here when in the area for one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. If only I could get a breakfast burrito like this in PDX! Also tried the BLT with heirloom tomatoes which did not disappoint. Can't wait for them to go brick and mortar :)

amazing fantastic and addictive. Yes there are hundreds of food carts in Portland and I'm sure many of them may serve a great breakfast. Henry's located in Carlton Oregon serves a fantastic fresh mouth watering selection of breakfast items that far surpassed any fast food restaurant and 98 percent of any other breakfast restaurants in the area. As a traveler throughout the western United States I found a very few breakfasts that equal Henry's. It may take a drive into wine country to discover this hidden jewel but it is worth the trip and none of the parking problems you will find at Portland area food carts.

Wow! This place is worth the (beautiful) drive from Portland (take the back roads!) to break your fast. My family and I drove from Portland over to Carlton for Mother's Day brunch--gorgeous day, full of sunshine. We arrived hungry, and were not disappointed. After a long look at the menu (which is pretty extensive for a cart), we settled on an order of the specials of the day--caramelized banana french toast, and an asaparagus/caramelized onion/white cheddar scramble. We also got the kiddie plate (scrambled egg, piece of bacon, and a pancake) for my toddler. Katie, who took our orders, is a ray of sunshine, and incredibly helpful in talking about the menu. While we waited for the chef to make our breakfast to order, we sat on comfy wooden benches covered with homemade blankets. Katie had given my daughter chalk to draw with, and she was happy. We soaked up some sun, watched dogs and babies play, and generally enjoyed the lazy, happy, pastoral scene. They were swamped for Mother's Day, so food was ready after about 20 minutes. What arrived was divine--(local) brioche french toast with carmelized bananas and slab bacon, and an expertly made scramble of asparagus, caramelized onions, and white cheddar, with potato hash. The french toast was warm and custardy inside, crunchy with a sweet crust outside. The scramble was perfectly done (no dry, over cooked bits), filled with the delicious ingredients. The asparagus was perfectly crisp-tender, the onions sweet and uniformly caramelized (not easy). We could not have been happier! A word about the pancake: Almost wanted to steal my daughter's pancake, too--it was that good. I order pancakes everywhere I go, and I'm already planning a stack of these to myself on our next visit to Henry's. Buttery, hearty, tender, with a carafe of warm, real maple syrup available for dousing. I don't know how we got so lucky as to have chef Joseph cooking for us at this humble cart, but waste no time wondering--get there now!

Love me some Henry's! This place is delicious. Staying in Carlton for a long weekend, my wife and I had the pleasure of eating at Henry's Diner multiple times over our four night stay. Located right at the intersection of Main and Pine stand Henry's - a permanent food cart with passion. Joe, the owner is an amazing chef and works extremely hard to please. He's been all over the world, but knows Carlton is the place to be. My favorite items were...well everything. However, each time I went, I ordered the pancakes. I consider myself to be a pancake aficionado. These tender, puffy, flaky, yet dense and crispy around the edges pancakes were spot on. Joe uses a mix of flour, cornmeal and buckwheat. No one ingredient overpowers...they all just mesh. Plus, he butters them for you. These require no syrup, as they are delicious on their own. Also ordered each time was the breakfast burrito. I got mine without meat, but Joe recognized this and added spinach and mushrooms. The eggs were tender, the potatoes perfect and the salsa chill. After the burro is wrapped, he places the tortilla on the grill and gets it nice and browned. Least I forget an amazing breakfast sandwich we ordered. The Northwest egg salad sandwich. This was another crowd pleaser. Smoked salmon, hearty grain and nut bread and an egg salad that wasn't nasty and full of mayo. Joe apparently got a contract extension for another year, but I would love to see him become a fixture of Carlton forever. Maybe that old bank across the street?!?!

I've tried just about the whole menu here at Henry's. I can tell you it doesn't suck. At all. Hands down best biscuits and gravy in all of Oregon. Fun location, they treat you well when it's cold or rainy with heaters and handcrafted blankets and tents. These people rock and care, and you can taste it in they're food. Eat here!

Awesome breakfast, super nice people, a billion hot sauce options, and nothing over $8 - this place is the greatest if you're looking for a massive delicious egg breakfast (or some biscuits and gravy). Has the added small town charm of throwing your cash in a bucket to pay and taking your own change accordingly. I've been three times, tried three different things, and always loved it! Also has a couple lunch specials every day which look quite tasty, though I haven't tested them for myself.

Stopped by on a Sunday morning at the end of the summer after a late night at McMenamins. After 2 days of the same food at the hotel it was awesome to stumble upon some truly tasty, good food. I had the egg salad sandwich on the advise of a fellow helper and was blown away. So good, not what I was expecting at all, the salmon was a nice touch, and the flavor was great. The hubby had a side of the Philly scrapple and a side of the Jersey roll. Both new to him and both got the thumbs up. Such a refreshing approach to breakfast in the place of the standard greasy American fare. Thanks Henry! Can't wait to come back!

I think I've written a negative review maybe once ever before ever about any business I've ever gone to. I am genuinely disappointed that I have to write this review today, but we went to Henry's for the first time today and had a horrible experience. And while I completely understand that businesses have off-days and sometimes people have bad days - it was made very clear to us that the attitude and service we encountered was no accident, so we will never return to Henry's again - nor would I suggest anyone go there. We ordered our food and sat down with our coffee. After about 45-50 minutes we went back up to the truck to check on our order, as it had obviously been a long time. We discovered our order had been skipped over and not cooked. The man behind the counter said he would make it next, which to his credit he did, but he offered nothing other than a passing "sorry." When I picked up the order. The woman behind the counter offered only a dismissive joke, "10 lashings for him HA HA" and turned away. No apology or attempt to make me feel better for waiting an entire hour for our food. The man gave me the food and said, again dismissively, "Sorry about that, darling." Never mind I'm probably 10 to 15 years older than him and was not in the mood to be dismissed as "darling" or to not have any effort made to make up for making us wait. Like I said, I acknowledge that sometimes things go wrong, people make mistakes, etc. I would never hold that against anyone. But a refusal to try to make things right is a problem. If at any point either of them had offered even a slice of bacon and genuine apology I would feel differently. But there was zero willingness on their part to admit they had done wrong or that there was even anything to make right. My husband and I walked around town for a while, but we were still bothered by what happened. So we went back to tell the man and woman at Henry's how we felt. We were greeted with an overwhelming attitude of righteousness. The woman denied that she had joked and the man said he calls everyone "darling" and therefore it's not a problem. They would not even concede one bit that making us wait an hour was a problem or that their service might be lacking in any way. Instead they got aggressive and argumentative. The food is good, but it's not amazing, and it's not worth putting up with a condescending attitude. The last thing the man said to me was, "Sorry for calling you darling, darling" in a highly sarcastic tone. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. They have no understanding that a customer's experience might be different from their own or that they might want to consider the experience or feelings of the customer.

Wow! Just wow! I had one of the BEST homestyle cooked breakfasts I have ever had yesterday. Special of the day omelette with potatoes (crispy, a tiny bit burned and with onions - just how I like it). Added bacon too (thick cut!). My family ate and loved biscuits and gravy, fabulous buckwheat pancakes and brioche french toast with fried bananas on top. We enjoyed the view of downtown Carlton and the super friendly service! It was a bit cold and damp, but we were cozy in some colorful blankets and protected from the weather with several tents. We will be back for HOT BREAKFAST!

Rolled in this morning on my way out of the area after a wedding and some wine. I usually have a couple go-to places in McMinnville that I frequent, but on this occasion a good friend who works at a winery in the area (R. Stuart, holla!) told me we were heading over there today. Thought it was a restaurant. Cold, wet, blustry day and we ended up sitting on park benches outside eating breakfast. And it was awesome. The lady working the register was warm, effervescent, full of good suggestions. Homie on the grill had a stack of pancakes tattooed on his forearm. This matters. Anybody with ink like that probably plays for keeps. Got the B&G, which I almost always do if I'm at a new breakfast spot. Biscuits were warm, flaky, the perfect compliment for the gravy, which was well-seasoned and perfect for cleaning the pinot out of my GI tract. From what I ate and what I saw coming out of there this morning, very much on par with the Brunch Box and a couple of my other favorite Portland food carts. Yet another win for the Willamette Valley.

Hands down the best breakfast on the West Coast. You think I'm being overly generous? Try the #7 breakfast sandwich and you will see what breakfast was always meant to be. Joseph does such an incredible job blending local ingredients, brilliant recipes, and a passion for food in a way that sets the standard for Northwest food truckery. No trip to Oregon is compete without a trip to Henry's. If you came to Oregon in hopes of a good time, but secretly wishing for a life changing trip, this is that place to find it. Breakfast reinvented, old-school.

Great food!! I don't usually expect to get memorable food at a food truck, but "Henry's Diner" in Carlton is no ordinary food truck. The owner/chef, Joseph, is no stranger to top quality food. His experience includes being an executive chef in D.C. (Blacksalt Restaurant) for a number of years before moving into upper management. That background combined with his obvious passion for REAL food prepared simply and deliciously make this a real gem. My first order was his spin on the ever popular biscuits and gravy. Simply the best I've ever had! The delicious biscuits are made from scratch on site in a real oven (no microwave oven on this truck!). The sausage is made by Joseph, using Carlton Farms pork. The addition of coffee to the gravy works perfectly. The coffee is sourced locally (Caravan), with the beans fresh roasted just a couple of days before, ground to order on site and brewed in a Chemex Coffee Maker! Everything on the menu shows a commitment to top quality food, expertly prepared. The truck's motto is "Eat hot breakfast at Henry's" and I would say that's excellent advice. There are hot platters and sandwiches (even a breakfast burrito). A special treat, especially to anyone with roots in the east coast, are two products not easily obtained around here: Philly scrapple and Jersey pork roll. Trust me, these are both worth trying. Not only did Joseph ensure that he procured the top brands for each of these (Habersett's Scrapple and Taylor Pork Roll), but he knows exactly how to prepare them correctly. My wife had the French Toast with "burnt bananas"-- mashed bananas caramelized on the griddle -- and maple syrup. The toast was made from thick sliced brioche and cooked to perfection, slightly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The carmelized bananas and maple syrup make it decadently yummy! Give this place a try for a real breakfast that won't empty your wallet: EAT HOT BREAKFAST AT HENRY'S!
