Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Impressed with the waitstaff and establishment. Clean and spacious. Salsa, cheese sauce (yellow & white) and chips was great. Had the combination dinner, taco and cheese enchiladas with chili sauce. Very impressed with the chili sauce. Rice and pinto beans was good. Would recommend...

It was fine until the tables were moved around to be parallel w the entrance. And the waiting staff changed as well. Now they have these overweight, lazy waitresses who are more concerned with looking at their phones rather then your drink, order, etc. The ones doing the clearing of the tables were better waiters then the ones who took our orders. Its not a fluke either. We use to go to pecinas twice a month and for the last 2 months its been exceedingly worse and worse. The level of service has fallen thru the floor. Theres two major waitresses to beware of, one has glasses is overweight and has nasty blond/brown hair. You can hear it in her voice when she gives you the menu she hates her job, life, etc. And the other one is overweight, has brown hair, and her name is Taylor. Shes the reason my wife and I shall never go back. We will drive 17 miles to taqueria fresnillo in clinton. At least there no one is going to reach over your food while your eating, your order will be correct, your drink will be correct and cold, and the food will be hot and fresh. I believe youll find the flies a lot less daring there as well. For having one door on the restaurant pecinas sure has a lot of flies in it. Needless to say, it has gone to the flies. Also beware of the other waitress who looks like shes addicted to meth or something. Youll see what im talking about. Like ugh!!! Did she look like that when you hired her?!?

Should this be rated based on Oklahoma food standards (typically bland and booooooring) or my food standards? Who cares? This is probably the only place I'll eat in Weatherford. I'll give it 3 stars for the service and the fact that I have never died from it. With that said, if I ate the same food in Dallas or anywhere with a size-able population, there would be hell to pay. They don't have drinks (sad face). Or fresh tortillas (double sad face). They provide ample under seasoned cheese sauce, which I think they are trying to pass off as queso.

Pretty good mexican food. Carne Aasada was very tasty and thick, which I appreciate. Good flavor and even came with a grilled jalepeno's, my favorite! Finished the meal with sopapillas which were a bit raw and could have been cooked a bit longer. No bar and missed my marg

My family of 5 stopped in on a Wednesday night. The place was packed but we were seated immediately. Our waitress was very attentive and had the prettiest smile. Chips and Queso were brought to the table right away AND she brought out hot tortillas. I had the chicken fajita quesadilla and it was perfect. THEN she brought out sopapillas that also came with the meal. I could see why it was such a busy place! It was a great experience.

Love this place! Great food and excellent service. Try the crispy shredded chicken tacos!

Great Mexican food in Western Oklahoma! The service is always quick and very friendly. The menu is also pretty extensive as well as being very cheap.

Highly overrated food. $6.00 for a single taco! Food is just average. Meats are very bland. It would be just average if it didn't cost so much. Skip it and goto Taco Bell.

"This close to Texas/Mexico and this is what you get? Despairing" Only in the deep South, where they are clueless about what Mexican cuisine is, have I had such bad Mexican food. The chips and dips were terrible... some weird cheese dip with a Taco Bell salsa (actually that is a knock on Taco Bell their sauce is better). The rice tasted old and stale. The re-fried beans were so watery that it was hard to scope them up. Finally the chicken fajita was over cooked, oily and had no vegetable except a few chucks of bell pepper. When it comes to Mexican food definitely NOT recommended.

I'm not gonna straight punch a hole in my Grandmomma's house over this food, son, but you put six little servings of salsa, six little servings of queso, and 6 baskets of tortillas in front of six people before they even order, I know what y'all want. Y'all want 5 stars. And let me give it to you straight: I feel you. Hard. My stomach hurt before I even looked at the menu, b. Like the fire alarm could have went off with all the sprinklers and we all would have shoved our cell phones in our pockets and ran out to the van all wet and been like "yeah I'm full let's just keep driving to Texas". Before the waitress even got to the table. That's straight western Oklahoma type shit for you. We got our cups over water and even those were alarming and big. Like they were fish bowls or something, you could have just kept fish in them. Some guy kept eying down Rodney that was weird. He didn't work there or anything though.

Pecina's only opened in the spring of 2012 and it's a real gem. The food was very good and the service was prompt and friendly. My husband had a chille relleno and said it was among the best he's ever had. And we live in California with plenty of Mexican restaurants for comparison. Judging by the steady stream of customers, it appears people are getting the word about this place. I didn't see it listed in Yelp and thought it deserves a mention. The only drawback is that they don't have a liquor license (yet?) so you can't have a beer with your meal. Casual but pleasant atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit when your in Weatherford.
