Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I always take a detour when I am traveling on I-75 so I can grab lunch or dinner here. Seriously, it's so good that I plan my business or pleasure trips so that I hit this restaurant during either lunch or dinner. The vegetarian meals on the menu sound like countless other Mexican restaurants: Vegetarian A. Vegetarian B. Vegetarian C, etc. However, the similarity ends there, this food is much tastier and higher quality. My favorite is the Vegetarian B. Chimichanga covered with mucho melty white cheese, bean burrito and enchilada. The description doesn't begin to do justice to the deliciousness of this meal. Pleasant employees and quick service. The salsa is fresh and tasty too.

We received several recommendations for La Fiesta so thought we'd make the 25-mile drive to try it out. We got there later in the supper hour on a weekday and it was packed with families. The staff was right on target with their service, asking for beverages and dropping off chips with a delicious dipping salsa. Soon, even with all the activity, the food appeared. During dining, the server checked on us a number of times. So why such a low rating? The food. I have, unfortunately, a broad experience with Mexican, Central America, and southern Europe cuisine and what we received was not from any of those places. Mediocre quality ingredients with meager attempt to cover with poorer quality sauces made the meal nearly inedible. I so wish they would balance out the entire business to match the service. Good luck, but I won't be returning.

Pretty standard but solid Americanized Mexican food. Service is very quick. There can be quite a wait during busy times, Sundays in particular. Chips and salsa are plentiful. I wouldn't go here expecting a culinary road-trip, and certainly it's not the sort of place to venture much beyond the chile rellenos or enchiladas, but for the price it's pretty good. Remember, you are in Troy. Oh, and I've read a couple of reviews where people said "You get free chips and you don't even need to order a full meal". You should be ashamed for even thinking that way. Don't be that person. Order a meal like a normal person and don't be cheap.

OK let me start by saying I've been here many of times and I do love this place one of the better Mexican restaurants in the area. Although last few times I came the service has been absolutely horrendous. No one checking back with me to see if food was good refills on drinks I had to go to counter to get boxes I seen my server once in 45 minutes and it wasn't even busy! With all of that said the food is perfect every time! I'll go back like I always do I just wish the service would be better

Awesome good. Decent price. Nice people. Sometimes there can be quite a wait. In that case if just go a couple miles away to el sombrero. But if get can get in fairly quick it's worth it.

Prolly my favorite spot. Love the atmosphere. Not great when crowded and on weekends. Food is excellent. Service is normally excellent. Suffers a little when really busy. Best Mexican I've had in Ohio. I prolly eat there every 10 days

A favorite stop when I travel across Ohio. It's about a mile off the I-75 exit, but totally worth it. It's a wonderfully creative and upbeat restaurant with perfectly executed traditional dishes and options for the more adventurous. If you like things spicy, Carnitas Arturo es el verdad.

Back in the York area again and I passed La Fiesta Mex Rest on the way to the hotel. After reading mixed reviews was deciding if I would try this place or go back to Los Pitayos which I have rated 4 stars by Ohio standards; 3 by NY standards. Decided would go check it out and see what the menu was like. Well it looked good so decided to stay :) and was not disappointed. Give this a 4 star Ohio standard, 3 NY rating. While the chips weren't as good as the ones at Los Pitayos the salsa while watery was better then at Los Pitayos. The $4.75 for a 23oz Negra Modelo on tap certainly hit the spot. The carnita dinner came with 6 FREE tortillas not like at El Sombrero's where they CHARGE you $1.40 for 4, but then thats not even close to being a Mexican restaurant. The portion was a good size just like at Los Pitayos and service was good too. Didn't get to try the flan here as I was full after my meal no need for desert. Overall I rate this place and Los Pitayos on the same level; guess it be nice to mix it up instead of always going to one... :) Yet to find Horchata or Aqua de Jamaica at any Mexican restaurant in Ohio but then I guess I am asking to much... be a few more years :( Did find both at a small taqueria in Dublin OH yesterday; you knew that was real Mexican as I was the only gringo in the place :)

Great food, wonderful people and amazing atmosphere. Took my 7 yr old for his birthday today (his request) and everything was perfect!!

Too crowded and service was terrible. Average food. They had to add an extra table to a table for four to accommodate our party of five. This left a very narrow walkway. People were brushing up against our table knocking napkins and silverware onto the floor. Waiters had to carry trays of drinks and food over our heads in order to get through. Brought taco salad out several minutes before the others got their entrees. We were freezing due to cold weather with everyone continually opening the door. When we stood to pay, we were pushed away from the table. As the waiters were in a rush to get people seated. They were very rude and continually said,"Excuse me, excuse me!" We had no where else to stand due to the crowd. They really need to make their place bigger and quit treating their customers like cattle.

La Fiesta used to be the best Mexican restaurant around, what happened? This used to be the place to go in Troy and by the crowds it still is but something has changed. The food isn't near as good as it used to be. Not that it is bad now but it has changed. I do love going here with a group of friends, having a MONSTER margarita or a pint of Dos Equis dark lager. Service is always top notch and it's almost fast food fast. If you get here around dinnertime on a Friday or Saturday be prepared to wait around. Is it time to expand again? I'll definitely be back as I love the great memories I have here and when I come back home it's a great place to meet up with old friends

My wife and I come here at least once a month and we're never disappointed. The food is well prepared and nice size portions. With unlimited chips and salsa, it is a great dining experience. They have a large menu with daily specials and they have several drink specials that change. The owner and the staff make you feel like family and if you come on the weekends come early or be prepared to wait a while...

i love this place. i've been to la fiesta maybe 100 times? quick food, great prices, authentic mexican, delicious, and friendly staff. there are weekend dinner hour waits but everyone is in and out. lots of fun and great personality. the owner will even walk around and say hello. a few screens around so you can catch ball games if you need to. unlimited chips (they will keep refilling) with good salsa so you don't even need to order a full meal. the only thing i don't go for are the flavored frozen margaritas. go iced regular.

Wonderful service and tasty food. I ate here during the Gentlemen of the Road fest and even though is was crazy busy, the staff was friendly and attentive and we didn't wait too long for our food.

The food is okay. It's more of a place to drink and be loud. We prefer Los Pitayos, their food is better and it's not as crowded.

One of the better Mexican offerings in the valley. They have some great drink specials, decent sized portions and friendly staff. Be prepared for a crowd on the weekend nights but it's worth the wait. The queso is to die for here, best queso I have had I think.

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant you'll encounter in the northern Miami valley. Great prices, large portions and a very friendly staff. the inside of decorated nicely, much like you'd expect a restaurant of this type to be. The seating inside isn't too generous and it fills fast on the weekends. All you need to do is drive by and you'll see the ample parking lots filled. There is also an enclosed dining patio that is very nice in the warmer weather. When in Troy, check them out. You won't be disappointed.

There are quite a few lunch combo choices. The special combo of the day was discounted to be under 5 dollars the day I visited. I thought it was a bargain for lunch. The chips were warm and the salsa was good also.

The second best Mexican restaurant in Troy. Friendly servers, fairly authentic if somewhat tame and America Latin food. Good atmosphere.

I was with a group of four and we arrived at 8:45, and the restaurant closed that evening at 9. We were turned away because they were already "closed." So we went to El Sombrero, were warmly welcomed, and spent $100.

My friends love this place and a lot of other people do as well, judging from the crowds. My take on it is that it's alittle too Americanized for me. I was born and raised in southern California so I've been exposed to quite a bit of Mexican cuisine. The strength of this place is the bar which seems to be the central attraction here. The staff is pleasant enough, the food just seems a little boring to me. However, I give this restaurant a 4 because my friends love it so much and who am I to assume that my opinion is so much better than theirs. Try it. You may love it too.

Great place to eat. The best Mexican restaurant in Troy. Fast, friendly and great prices. I have never been disappointed.

Its been a long time since I have been here, but the food was authentic to true Mexican cuisine. Price was fair, and the portions were pretty large. Yes, its was a bit more then TB, but the taste was worth every penny of it.
