I have loved every single item I've tried! From the sandwiches and pastas to the desserts, everything is delicious and so fresh tasting. Had a buttercream frosted cookie today for a birthday treat and it was perfect! Great spot to bring friends and family or stop in and take dinner home. You won't be disappointed!

If ever you find yourself near Granville, this place is definitely worth a stop. After swimming at Hudson Lake, was looking for a market with a decent wine selection, and they were less than a two minute drive. Very cute market, good wine selection, and lucky me, Italian food by the lb! Ended up getting lasagna for 3, their delicious bread and a lovely bottle of Palumbo's signature bread dipping oil. As soon as I'm out, I will have to go back for more. Delicious!

Good subs! My favorite is the Doodle, with fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil. I've been here many times and gotten the same thing. Bonus points for friendly workers and student discounts!

Great hidden gem. Stopped in for a sandwich and ended up taking home dinner as well. High quality products and very reasonably priced. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious and the service was phenomenal. Will definitely stop any time we are in the area.

I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed this place before, because it rocks! I've tried almost everything they have to carry out and have never been disappointed. My favorite item, by far, is the Eggplant Parmesan "stack." Get it with extra sauce for reheating. You won't be sorry! Oh, and don't miss the meatballs. Hands down the best meatballs I've ever had! Everything is fresh, very well prepared, and a great value for the price. They use real food here, so if you are used to frozen, prepackaged, reheated junk, you will be disappointed. Don't miss out on desserts. They fill the canoli for you when you order them so they don't get soggy. Awesome. The cakes (by the slice) and cupcakes are incredible. If you need suggestions on wine, just ask. They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and have a pretty good selection. Of course, the service is always, always friendly. That's huge in this day and age of non-existent customer service. Just go...you will be so glad you did!

We have picked up dinner for two several times and continue to be impressed with the quality of the pre-made food. Last night we had pasta with red sauce and meatballs, their delicious salad, and cupcakes that were pure heaven. We rounded out our meal with a wonderful bottle of Italian wine. The staff is so friendly and knowledgable! Can't wait to come back and try their sandwiches.

I found this little gem taking a shortcut using River Road, which I usually never use -- it's sort of off the beaten path. This market is new and has plenty to offer lovers of Italian foods. We bought some of their homemade gnocchi and sauce - cooked it up for lunch the following day and it was excellent. We also took home some homemade Italian Wedding Soup -- also very good. There is also an impressive selection of meals to go -- entrees including lasagna, stuffed shells, chicken parmesan (and more); side dishes like classic Italian meatballs and garlic smashed potatoes; salads -- deli meats and cheeses -- sandwiches... And killer desserts -- we tried the Key Lime Pie, a sugar pie (I forgot the name of it), and tiramisu -- all very tasty. There is also grocery items -- mainly canned or jarred foods from Italy that are hard to find in most stores. I added the URL to the website on this page so check that out for details.

Just discovered this charming little market. I am from Houston and really wish we had a place like this in our neighborhood; Lucky Granville. The fresh prepared lasagna looked fabulous but we had some of their freshly frozen stuffed pastas and felt like we were in Italy. Fantastic wine selection. They have a few tables for lunch. You really should check this place out. It is much more than I can put in a short review.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
