We had a great steak dinner on a Sunday night! Steaks were cooked perfectly and on Sundays they are $2 off. Wine was pretty decent and service, although not perfect, was pretty good. The garlic bread was missing on one of our dinners but once our waiter came back he brought it out promptly. Would definitely go back especially for steak night!

I LOVE Old Mills food! And I guess maybe their Grindstone white AND red wine is awesome too!

The wines were excellent but the food and service were mediocre, and quite honestly, the building was filthy.

The worst customer service I am experienced. Went in on a Friday evening and the manager was completely rude, she didn't even walk us to the table just pointed and said go over there. Will never go back we ended up leaving.

We went on a Thursday night, and had to rush to get there because they stop taking orders at eight o clock. There wasn't too much to choose from on the menu, and most of the things were extremely basic (such as a wrap with only chicken and lettuce). The cheese platter had two amazing (read: not amazing) cheeses: cheddar blocks and white cheddar blocks! All of the food seemed like it came already prepared from GFS. It was fine, but extremely uninspired and lacking creativity. It seemed to me that the menu was put together begrudgingly, as if the owner told her daughter that she couldn't go out until she put together a menu, and then took out everything even remotely risky. The music, a less that mediocre man absolutely destroying classic songs, was so loud that it was impossible to have any real conversation. The wine was fine but nothing to write home about, and they charged fifty cents per sample. The only thing good about this place was that they had a red that tasted like grape juice, which is...original.

This place looked absolutely adorable. However, the service ruined it for me. Granted it was a holiday weekend and I understand that the staff wanted to go home, but we were basically shoved out the door.

I give this establishment 0 stars!! Was told by a server the manager would seat us. Some white trash lady then approached our group asking if we needed help. We then told her we were waiting for the manager to seat us. She pointed at a spot we could sit with the worst attitude possible. Our group of 6 left because everyone was so upset with the service. Do not go to this place it is a waste of your time

I was really looking for a cold beer after spending the day hitting the wineries in the area and this place was like a beacon on the hill! And boy did it deliver! My ice cold Yuengling was absolutely delicious and refreshing. They had a live band that was kicking and it was nice a night out on the patio. The perfect place at the end of an awesome day in Ohio's wine country. Thank you Old Mill!

Went in on Thursday evening for dinner, great food and great music. Went back on Friday again with friends. Again great food and great music. The Pick 2 combo is a great deal. My husband loved the crab cake appetizer. And John the bartender makes for a fun evening, stopped in Saturday for drinks and more great music.

Here's the deal folks...I've been around the world from France, Italy, and Prague. From Maine to Key West and New York to San Francisco and San Antonio to Milwaukee and Chicago...The Old Mill Winery has wines that are not snobbish, but authentic North Eastern Ohio. If you are some food/wine critic you may not like the reasonably priced food & wines, but I guarantee you I have paid A LOT more for far less edible or tastless food. What that sounds like is not true of the Old Mill's meals, they are always fresh and wholesome. They will stick to your ribs and not leave you hungry and you will probably savor some delicious food. Don't be a jerk and bad mouth my home town's restaurant/winery just because your full of yourself or where you hail from. They're not always perfect, but they have heart and genuine amazing awesome pretty frickin' delish eats! "Enough said"!!!

We ended up here for dinner after we tried to eat at Ferrante, but didn't want to wait 2 hours for a table. We got a couple of their tasting trays, and no one really liked any of the wines. The food was mediocre, and the place seemed a little bit dirty. They had a great band playing though. I'll probably skip it when we're back in the area.

Love the wine here and they have great food too!! Probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. My boyfriend agrees!! The atmosphere is really nice. Overall, it is a great place to go relax and eat some good food.

I was so incredibly thrilled that I was able to leave this place without giving them a cent. Is the wine good? I have no idea. Why not? Because nobody bothered to help us, even when we sat at the bar in plain view of multiple servers. We sat there for several minutes and not one person asked if we wanted anything. Several of these servers were milling around, talking amongst themselves without a care in the world as if everyone in the joint was happy and satisfied. It's not like the place was busy or anything--half of the place was empty. I don't expect to be waited on like a king, but I do expect to be treated with respect. Several years ago, I went to Lola in a fleece and a hoodie (long story--the person with whom I was dining and who also was paying suddenly decided that they wanted Lola instead of the place originally decided, which was a casual place). We walked in on a Friday night without a reservation. Five minutes later we had a table and we got great service. If a fancy place run by a chef who is famous all around America can rearrange things to give me a table on one of the busiest nights of the week when I'm dressed like I'm ready to pound chicken fingers at Applebee's, then I should expect a place like this to help me when I'm sitting drinkless at the bar, right? If you're on the north side of I-90 and looking for a winery, you can do much better.

Ate dinner here last night. Very good for a small town winery. Most of the food is grill outside on an open grill or deep fried. Excellent sangria! I would recommend but don't expect gourmet food. One in our party didn't get food until everyone else was half done. They never offered to do anything for him or the group.

Let it be known up front that I neither ate nor drank at Old Mill Winery. We tried though, we really did. However, after twenty minutes of being nothing more than a fly on the wall, we gave up. I have rarely seen such a poorly managed front of house. I use that term loosely though since the host's table is where the cashier is - in the middle of the restaurant. We were informed that if we wait there with the 10 other people, that we could put our name in and be seated soon. Problem was, the woman taking names was also seating, clearing tables and looking frantic. When she did revisit the group of people waiting, she took the name of the first person who spoke to her, called out a different name and then disappeared for another 3-8 minutes. This sounds like your ordinary busy restaurant, right? It gets worse, though, when considering the items below: 1 - No other waiter, bartender or server would speak to the group of people waiting - if I had a quarter for every time they said we can only talk to the woman who was never there... 2 - With five entrances into the restaurant and the desk in the middle of the room, there was no "line" to the list. First come was NOT first serve, which meant that my soft-spoken, kind group got completely walked all over. Realistically, we would have never been pushy enough to be seated. 3 - Large restaurant means many stressed, fast-moving servers. However, the route to the kitchen was right next to the cashier/host station, which meant there were anxious servers zipping by with plates, food and little to no patience for those waiting. They were so pushy that after being pushed to the side, a glass of water was poured onto half of my party. FYI, no "sorry," "whoops," or acknowledgement at all. 4 - After waiting for 20 minutes before giving up and leaving, only one other party that had arrived before us was still there. No, the rest of the parties had not been seated; they had left with the same empty stomachs. All but one of the parties that came in after us had also given up and left as well. All of the above being said, I was honestly sad to leave. The food looked good, the patio & outdoor porch looked like a pleasant atmosphere. There was a band that was playing solid, classic 80s hits. All in all, I'd be willing to try it again - but I will make a point to go straight to the bar and definitely not during the dinnertime rush.

This place was definitely one of a kind on the wine trails. I have never been to a winery that actually felt like a pub, sports memorabilia and all! Ordered the wine sampler and the wine burger. I wasn't crazy about any of the wines, compared to other wines I have tasted in the area. Much too sweet for my taste!! And I love me some sweet wines. Service was a little slow, but LOVED my wine burger. I keep dreaming about it.

The setting is nice, both inside and outside. Weather permitting you can sit outside and watch the traffic go by. The wines are sweet (read: pretty bad, imho). This place is doing an average job of making wine in Ohio. There is enough competition to make that not good enough. South River, Laurello, and St, Joseph to name a few. I can't call out any of the wines, because frankly, I didn't like any enough to take a bottle home. One good thing I can say about this place, it's better than Debonne.

I agree with other opinions about the configuration of the restaurant. There r at least two entrances and you kind of are lost when you walk in. I have had good service, but can certainly see how the service can veer off into the abyss. Recommend the wine burger and stuffed pepper soup (when offered as a special). Didn't love any of the wines after a sampler. Prices for the wine burger r a little high considering it is just the burger. The chips are stale Ruffles from a bag. The waffle fries can be ordered separately, but $4 for a side of potatoes I can make at home? Eh. Overall, I would go here again. It is a unique place amongst the wine and dining in the area.

A nice ending to a fun filled Autumn day in NE Ohio. The atmosphere is more sports oriented rather than wine decor which we were fine with as long as we could get a table. There were reservation flags on a good majority of the tables after 4 pm due to the entertainment that was booked for this particular Saturday. The waitress was very friendly and hustling. We started off with an appetizer of mussels to go with our wine, A definite A +...a perfect mix of garlic and butter, just enough so you can actually taste the mussels. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Wine Burger., which I had to try since he continued to rave about it with every bite. It was unanimous, the burger was good and you could taste a hint of the wine. I played it safe and ordered the white pizza...excellent crust and it was really tasty. I would absolutely return, with a call ahead of reservations, because I would have like to have enjoyed the entertainment too. There was lots of laughter coming from all of the tables so you could tell we weren't the only patrons that were pleased.

We had visited your winery, just passing through on our way to somewhere in Ohio a year ago. We said we wanted to come back there sometime and have dinner. Last week-end, July 8th,2012, I planned a great week-end. I made reservations at a local BB. We spent the day at the Medevil Faire and decided to have dinner at the Old Mill before turning into the BB. We both ordered a beer, being quite thirsty after the warm weather. To my disappointment there was NO chilled glass. That always takes an establishment to another level in my eyes. (I have a Day Spa and we even have chilled glasses for our water and wine) It really doen't take alot of extra time or $ in order to give this to our guests. We did not order another beverage, just water. I ordered a steak dinner, there was only a $1.00 difference between a hamburg with chips and a pickle and A 6oz steak with red potatoes and a small piece of corn. I went with the steak dinner. My husband got the shrimp Alfredo. Neither came with a salad. We were both disappointed. It always make me wonder why a restaurant does not take advantage of a inexpensive way to give their guests more. Is lettuce really that expensive to you? My dinner was very good, very tasty. My husband received what seemed like 1/2 cup of pasta with what he said seemed like a jar Alfredo sauce over it with 5 shrimp. Again it amazes me that where restaurants could take themselves to a new level they do not take advantage of the opportunity. Pasta is also inexpensive, another 1/2 cup would have made him a much happier returning guest. We were very disappointed. My husband was hungry when we left, I was disappointed because I thought your location and concept was great! You were busy and I think you have something there! But the food value was not. Our experience at the BB was wonderful. The Polly Harper Inn. We will go back there, and unfortunately I will not be able to get him to revisit your establishment. We love to go places and we don't mind spending money, but we have to have enjoyed our experience and feel like we got our value. I thought maybe you would like someone to be honest with you about your food. Thank-you for the opportunity to let you know . I hope this can be of help to you. Pam

Great wine and sangria. Bar like atmosphere and good food.

Nice very old building with outside deck seating. I am not a wine snob as I love sweet wines. I loved their Grindstone Red. My wife had Sangria which she loved. I hate pretentious wineries with their wine snobs. I've been to them and their wine tastes like oak or stainless steel. Yuck. Nothing pretentious about the Old Mill. It's the place the locals go for a good time. The Alan Green Blues Band was playing and they were fantastic! The wife loved her BBQ rib dinner and I loved my wine burger. I left with a bottle of Grindstone Red which we shared with friends a few days later and they enjoyed it. We will definitely go back.
