Best gyros ever! Tons of food. Excellent service. Nothing beats a papa gyros gyro. My favorite is the Cajun gyro!!! All day everyday I could smash that!

Papa gyros has 2 canton locations and 1 on green. We have eaten at both canton locations. The location on dressler is more of a formal sit down restaurant where you have a waitress come and take your order. The location of cleveland ave is a much smaller (only about 8 tables total) and you order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. Drinks are self serve. The food at both locations is always good!!! They have tons of vegetarian options (pita's, salads etc). Also the portions are huge! The first time we ever ate here we were stunned at how big our gyros were.

The gyros are pretty good! I cannot help but get a piece of baklava every time I go in there.

Love it. Big portions of tastey food at decent prices. Their gyros are great! They just had a recent remodel, and they have some table-service, but you still order at a front counter. My recommendation is the chicken pita supreme.

Awesome food nice dining area too. Had the falafel salad and gyro platter. You order at the counter and the server brings it to you. They have TVs and a bar too.

My favorite gyros in this world by far. I call them two handed gyros. You get full on the cheap here! They have more than just Gyros too, There is a bar and a waitress staff, always friendly and generous. I've been coming here for 9 years and have never once had bad service or a wrong order. If you like Greek food come here, the cooks prepare the food with love. I love Papa Gyros!!!! (YEEEROS!)

Excellent gyros and Greek salad! Our group could not finish our meals and brought a lot of gyro meat home. Loved the Greek Island Tea drink special, glad I was not driving because I felt no pain after two of these.

The food was great! You must try the saganaki. It was to die for. Pita bread was fresh and the gyro meat tasty.

A favorite stop for my wife and I. They have the best Gyros that I have ever had. If you like something with a little spice, try their Cajun Gyros.

Very good Greek food... their Gyro's are HUGE. This is a great spot if your hungry... good service. It can get very busy around lunch time so I would get there early.

Very meaty gyro. Only tomato and onion added. I prefer cucumber but hey - it works. Used to be cheap but now the lunch special (gyro, soda, fries) is $10. But it's a quality product and could feed 2 people with moderate appetites.

  • Bob M.

Wow. Good price. Quick service. $36 including tip four people.

These things are huge! Came here a couple of times while I stayed in Canton, it was my favorite restaurant here. I always got the Cajun Gyro because I liked the spice. After you ate one of these guys you always felt full. Tons of meat with cucumber sauce and onions on a warm pita. I would advise against ordering any fries because they are your generic Ore-Ida frozen fries and you get a small portion. I ordered the humus and bread and it was OK. I think it'd be better if they actually made their own humus but you can't always get what you want. The restaurant itself is somewhat weird. You walk up to the counter to order, pay FIRST, get your drink and sit down, and then a waitress brings you your food. She will then come around periodically asking if you need anything. The reason I do not like ANY of this is because I already paid. If they want a tip, why don't I pay at the end? Secondly, what is the job of the waitress here? I get up and order/pay. I get my own drink. I get my own table. I clean up when I'm done. I feel like George Costanza complaining right now but it's just weird. Great food though so I'll take the weirdness because it just tastes so good.

Just moved to Canton from California and I've eaten a lot of gyros. The authentic Gyro is the BEST and meatiest gyro I've ever had! EVER! I could barely finish it. Haven't tried much of the other stuff, so the stars may change. The spanakopitas were alright.... i've had better, but the Gyro was so amazing they still get five stars. one thing i don't get is why they have an option for BBQ or buffalo sauce on your gyro... must be an ohio thing. GROSS.

Good for lunch and casual dining. The Greek salad is amazing, and some people I know love the chicken pita (with extra tzatziki!). Good prices.

Papa Gyros' Gyros are fresh, juicy and big enough for two... If you're willing to share. The dining area was spotlessly clean. That's seems to be the exception these days and it was worth taking note of. The staff obviously took great care to provide quick clean-up as patrons left and ensure the restaurant consistently looks fresh. When we received our food the waitress offered to refill our drinks for us. They have one of the serve-yourself fountains so I thought this was a very customer-focused gesture. I've heard about Papa Gyros excellent service and was now seeing it first hand. The Gyros we ordered were massive. This wasn't a simple pita sandwich, this was mammoth portion of meat stuffed into a bursting roll of pita bread. And it was good. It's been years since I've had a gyro and I always liked them. This one was exceptional. It took me a while to figure out how to eat the darn thing. It was simply too big and juicy to pick up with your hands without falling apart all over the place. I opted for the knife and fork, but that created issues with the paper layered on the bottom of the plate. I had to be careful with my cuts so I didn't end up with strips of paper in my bites. Neither Jen or I could finish the entire sandwich and took half of each home, which made an excellent lunch the next day. Oh, and in case you didn't know, it's pronounced Year-roh, not Jy-roh.

Excellent and unique types of gyros! We tried the BBQ gyros and the Cajun gyros, and both were quite tasty...though I was partial to the Cajun ones. I'm not sure why more restaurants don't offer different flavors of gyros, but this place hit the spot. The sandwiches were large enough that we didn't bother with any sides, but I recommend getting an extra sauce. Great prices - a filling lunch for two people for under $15.

Great place...there is lots of pepper in the meat, so if you're not a fan...u wont like it! Huge portions and it's always a challenge finishing my meal! Great food value...very authentic...u wont be disappointed!

food poison central. my bf spent the night hugging the porcelain god. i on the other hand was not so lucky to find relief. ive been nauseous all night and day. this place may have been good once but def not anymore!!! save yourself the pain and cramping and go eat elsewhere. i would have given zero stars but had to put something.

  • Dave W.

Wow, must be a pound of meat on this gyro! I am stuffed. I also got the house salad with house dressing that was good as well. Paid up front with a credit card and felt guilted into leaving a tip.

  • Kate B.

Very good Greek food and huge gyros, enough to split if you don't want leftovers. My 10 year old son can barely finish the kids gyros. The green beans are also very good and prefer the beans over the rice pilaf, wish it wasn't an extra charge. I haven't tried too many other items yet but the rack of lamb is excellent and the pastitsio is alright. I would agree that the spanakopita isn't the greatest. I believe they don't make it . The pastries are very good as well especially the melomakarona, soft cookies dipped in honey with nuts and the baklava. Service is wonderful and almost always get seated right away and very attentive. Clean and friendly restaurant. Will always go back. Wish they had a location in Green but would probably order every night. Highly recommend it.!

Stopped here for lunch after visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame and I must say I loved it! We got the Gyro Platter and shared it and it was more than enough food for two. Very delicious! If we're ever in Canton again we'd go.
