About Taco Bell
Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.
The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.
Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

They've must have cleaned up their act. The service was super as was the wine and Sam Adams. As I was debating between fish and a burger the meatloaf of all things grabbed my attention. Glad it did, well worth a try. We also had crab cakes which were surprisingly good. Not quite Boston good, but better than most chains. The salad bar was fresh and reasonably fresh. The crew restocking it could use a bit more training as they all but throw the restock in without much regard to how much fill is needed. All and all a good experience.

Ruby Tuesday's has certainly revamped itself lately, with this location included. The salad bar is much improved from the last time I was here, happy hour specials at the bar are great ($5 apps!) and I was greeted/spoken to by 3 different employees as I sat at the bar. Definitely a great healthy option (especially for those traveling-it's so close to 90 and in the carrier circle hotels!). Will be coming back tomorrow :)

Ruby Tuesday's is pretty standard American fare in the same vein as TGI Friday's, Applebee's, etc. This particular chain has a great lunch crowd (lots of working professionals, people in town for business) so that is nice, and the staff is always attentive and helpful. I recommend the petite sirloin with steamed broccoli - can't go wrong there. The salad bar is great, if you aren't someone scared by a salad bar - lots of choices of greens and toppings. My favorite part of Ruby Tuesday's is the white bean chicken chili - get a bowl or two of this and you'll be good to go.

Overpriced badly over seasoned food. I have been to other locations and they have been great. Not this one

4 stars for salad bar. I have been to Ruby Tuesdays in other towns and this one meets the grade. Ever since they allowed the salad as one of the sides I have been a fan.

Came in for lunch and had a good burger. The jalapeño pretzel burger minus the bun along with the salad bar. Greeter was very nice and waitress was very courteous. Although this is a chain and I am not a fan of chains, IMO this is one of the better. Good lunch.

I've always wondered how this location has remained open. I stay in the Marriott next door often and have been to this Ruby Tuesday a few times over the years and it's been pretty empty. This Ruby acts like all others: good salad bar, good burgers and fair to good service. The best thing about this location is you always seem to be able to get in and out without waiting. Easy place to take the family for dinner.

Bad! I am not sure why I have given two stars. Maybe because the staff was friendly. We were on a road trip and thought that at least the food should be dependable at a chain. Then again R.T has never been a favorite place. Here I barely ate anything on my plate. The pimento sliders weren't great. The salad bar, where you usually can't go wrong wasn't good at all. Plus they have a kind of trompe l'oeil mirror which makes the selection seem bigger than it is. My daughters mac and cheese was pretty ghastly too though they very sweetly added peas and carrots to it on my request. Bad food seems just part and parcel of road trips!

I ended up eating at this Ruby Tuesday twice while on a trip to Syracuse, as it was a convenient walk from the hotel we were staying at. I hadn't been to a Ruby Tuesday for as long as I can remember, even though I live about 5 minutes away from one. What I got both experiences here was good food, good service and a good atmosphere. I ended up having the same thing both nights - a salad - which I almost never order out at a restaurant. It just sounded wonderful on the menu and it did not let me down. The salad was HUGE and the plating of it was beautiful. Our servers both nights were very personable and attentive. The bill was definitely reasonable. I will be adding Ruby Tuesday to my places to eat back at home now!

Food just OK...Service was OK until the server lost my credit card. They had it to charge my meals but it never returned to my table and they could not find it. OK, mistakes happen. However when the manager came over, rather than being apologetic and offering something for my troubles seeing as I now have to cancel my card, she was quite argumentative and made the motion of padding her pockets while stating "well, I don't have your card so I don't know what to tell you". Made me feel like it was my fault when they had the card long enough to charge my meals but never brought it back. Was called some 4 hours later by some other person saying I must have placed a to-go order because they found my card in the to-go area. Uh, no, I was dine in. Why the server placed my credit card in the to-go area is beyond me. Still, made to feel as if it were my fault, and still no offer to make it right. Just "oh, well". Of course I had already cancelled the card because who is to say they didnt give it to some other person with their receipt? Once again, most reasonable people understand mistakes happen but please don't come to the table stating it isn't your fault and there is nothing you can do. At least try to make an attempt to make this huge inconvenience that is clearly the fault of your establishment a little easier to swallow. Won't ever go back.

Ruby Tuesday.. pretty darned good. Too many tables though and was difficult to get from our booth to the salad bar. The salad bar was fresh but for some reason the cucumbers were sitting in a puddle of water. Other than that, everything on there was delish. Jerk Shrimp, mango salsa, and pilaf. All very tasty with a moderate kick, the sauce was a bit to tomato-ish and sweet, but I still enjoyed it. The service was a young female who was more interested in the tables with all men seated at them and we were an afterthought..hence a small tip for her.
(4)Cory F.
Sat down to have lunch. 5 minutes into my visit the female manager shrieked and yelled, "another one!.". The entire staff ran into the kitchen chasing the mouse. Disgusting is an understatement.

This area of Syracuse is mostly hotels, a few restaurants and large manufacturing sites. While Ruby Tuesday would never be on my list of favorite restaurants, in the group of local eating places in this area, it is one of the best choices. The salad bar is much better than I remember in the past and could be a meal in itself. The burgers are above average and the other menu look pretty good.
(3)Sirinda S.
Preface: I noticed that Syracuse residents don't yelp. And I don't blame them. There's not much in Syracuse to get too excited about. So, I'm gearing all my Syracuse yelp reviews food reviews toward other visitors of the city who are looking for dining options. Sad to say but Ruby Tuesday may be one of the best bets for dining in Syracuse. This one is located near a circle of hotels including the Marriott Residence Inn. The salad bar is decently stocked with the inclusion of chopped ham and bacon. They also have perhaps the best croutons I've ever had. The croutons are dark brown so they don't look very appetizing but I think they cut them fresh from loaves of bread. I don't know what makes them so tasty and I briefly wondered as I was eating them if maybe they were deep fried? The salad bar is actually hearty enough to serve as a complete meal, and it's only $2.99 extra to add it on to an entree. The entrees are OK at best. The sides (mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli) were too heavily salted. We had an exceptionally excellent server (Ivan) who would have fit in at any high end big city restaurant. He was attentive, knowledgable, friendly, and all together very effective and efficient. Thanks for great service, Ivan.

Great article in the NYT recently about how Ruby Tuesday's is up-classing their restaurants. We found this to be true - appetizers were pretty good and a nice ambiance all around. Far be it from me to promote a chain restaurant, but in Syracuse the indies underperform so consistently that I've had to renounce my chain hatred. One of the better places to go on dreadful Erie Blvd.
(3)Ivy C.
This was the first time I went to Ruby Tuesdays, and for some reason, it was in Syracuse. My clients took me here and I treated. They called it "overpriced bar/pub food" and yup, it kinda was. I ordered the appetizer spring roll and they ordered burgers. My food was more dough/roll than stuff inside, kinda skimping out on the filling, but the dipping sauce was pretty good. The burgers looked typical and good, but not sure if it deserved the $8-$10 prices. I probably wouldn't chose to go to Ruby Tuesdays again since there are better choices for a burger or pub food.
