This place is amazing and the food is great. I love the chimichangas and jerk chicken tacos. Everything tastes fresh and the atmosphere of the place is very nice. The only negative (a very slight one) is that it is cash only but its definitely worth the trip to the ATM. Other than that it would be 5 stars!!! Edited: I hear they now accept credit cards

Very enjoyable place. Don't understand the other reviews complaining about the customer service here, I've found it to be great. Feels like an honest friendly neighborhood business. There is a pretty full menu including an elaborate taco section if you want to try something different. I have had a couple of these, and while they were good, $5 a taco is a lot when you need 4-5 to make a meal out of it. Not saying the quality isn't there, just that $20 for a lunch is a lot for a take out place. Most will be quite happy with the simple burrito side of the menu. This is my go to order and over all I've been quite pleased. The chicken and steak can be a little dry and bland, but an extra cup of their fine salsa will fix that. The pork was a little sweet for my taste, but was done well. My favorite is the shrimp burrito which out of all of them is the boldest, most flavorful, and manages never to seem dry. The burritos are a good size and come with a packet of chips (which I wish were salted). For $8 it's a great deal. My only real gripe about this place are the hours. They are closed or have only late hours early in the week. They also seem to change depending on the day. Really more of a weekend place I guess. Maybe affects me more because I'm off early in the week, but it seems I keep going there for lunch and they're closed. They've even sent me away because they decided to close a couple hours early that day. It's also worth noting that they only accept cash. Not a knock against them- but just an FYI.

This place is great. I thoroughly enjoyed my grilled vegetable salad with chicken and delicious cilantro dressing. So glad it's close to my job, I will be eating here at least once a week.

Food tastes good but watch your order. We had a takeout order with 8 items. When we got home we found that one item was missing even though it had been checked off on the receipt. We recommend that you check to make sure order is complete before leaving the store.

I was super excited to hear Mesquite was coming to town. It started out really great but it seems they've run out of steam. Regardless, food is still pretty good. My only issue is that it is extremely overpriced for what you get. When visiting, be sure to bring cash! CASH ONLY!

Very simple review, food is amazing. Tried a few different tacos, all were filled, and all were loaded with flavor. There were a lot of choices on the menu and I look forward to returning and trying out more of their food.

Food gets 4 stars, customer service gets 0 stars. Customer service is not good here. We were rushed when calling in a take-out order, and one of the cooks was rude when we questioned the contents of our order (someone had written down the wrong taco names on our take-out container and we weren't sure if we were given the right order). On another visit, I ordered the same taco I normally do, but they decided to add an additional ingredient to it that they usually don't. When I sent the taco back, the (same rude) cook made the taco without the topping, but sloppily put it together so it was leaking and dripping all over. Mistakes happen...please be able to correct orders with without attitude and also treat customers with respect, or you will continue to lose business. These experiences send us to Señor Taco, the (more friendly) Mexican restaurant that's less than 5 minutes away from this place. The tacos are awesome and super-flavorful but are $4.75 each, a little pricy. Yes, the ingredients are fresh and unique, but the tacos are quite small which means you'd need several to fill you up. The calamari appetizer was good. If the prices could come down a little or the amount of food increase, and if the staff would be friendlier, we might consider giving Mesquite another try.

Stopped in while going for a walk on the only above freezing day of the month, and so glad we did! We ordered 4 tacos and enjoyed all of them... our favorites were the duck and the regular steak soft taco (we asked for guacamole to be added to it). So happy to have these guys in town! Yumm!

It really makes me laugh when reviewers (or anyone,) compare Mesquite to Chipotle. The two couldn't be ANYMORE different, seriously. The food is incredible. All of it. Everything on the menu. I recommend the smoked andouille taco If you're a fan of all things spicy and smokey. If not, I recommend the pulled pork taco. Yum! If you're gluten free or vegan, there are many options for you too. They have soft corn tortillas (gluten free) and a number of tasty vegetable alternatives to meat. You really aren't paying a lot for the quality of food and service you're getting. If you didn't enjoy your experience at Mesquite, maybe you just didn't understand it. Give it another try with an open mind.

A hidden gem. Found this place by accident and I could not have been happier. The food was incredible. Had the grouper taco and steak with goat cheese taco. Priced right ! No AC and it was hot in there but worth the sweat.

We have been longtime fans of Mesquite in Sound Beach enjoying its fresh and creative version of tex mex cuisine. So we decided to try the Wading River location. Let me tell you, it's all that and more! The food is fresh, creative, and delicious. The menu includes some standards, burritos and wraps, some with special ingredients all so good. But the daily specialty tacos make each visit a delicious surprise! So my advice is find your way into Wading River and enjoy dining at Mesquite (BYOB) cute cozy and sooo yummy! And those of us who know where to find the best food on Long Island, well we DO know the guy on the register, the owner always makes us feel like we're dining at our friends place. Well worth the drive.

Great little neighborhood spot! The food is fresh and delicious, prices are fair. The menu is similar to Chipotle but broader and more creative. The charming duck pond across the street made the duck tacos sound a little less appealing, but I'm sure they are tasty. There isn't a ton of seating and it has a very casual vibe, but it a cute space and the atmosphere is very cozy. Right now they accept cash only, but the guy at the counter said a credit card system would be coming in a few days. Definitely worth a visit! They also have a location in Sound Beach and a food truck.

Despite living two minutes from Mesquite, I hadn't had a chance to try it until last night. First off, the food was awesome. I had a pork burrito and my wife had a chicken burrito, both were perfect and both were that big burrito size that makes you wish you had saved half for later, but were too good to put down. My experience was actually the best part. As I said, this was my first time there, so I was unaware of the cash only policy. When I picked up my food I was really embarrassed to only have $10 in my wallet, but the gentleman at the register told me not to worry about it. His primary concern was that if I left and came back, my food would be too cold to eat. So he gave me the food and told me I could come back to pay later. I dropped the food off with my wife and raced back to pay, but I was incredibly impressed with the courtesy they extended to a first time customer.

delicious delicious delicious. i'm not even exaggerating. I have to be honest and say I was not extremely excited, because all of the new food places in Wading River have seemed to fall short- but that was damn good. and the guy on the register was very helpful and nice. I ordered the portobello and something specialty taco... I forgot what it was called but it had like a pecorino cheese in it. I also ordered the steak and goat cheese specialty taco. brought them home and they were awesome. The only thing I will say is that I felt they were missing some kind of condiment to bring it together so I put balsamic glaze on it. perfect. i'm trying to con my husband into running down there to get me more! I got him two steak tacos and he also said the steak was very delicious. it's about time we got some good food around here besides the diner & the pizza place

Tacos are great but service and location suck. Not quite sure why they cheaper out on such a weak spot. Would rather eat chipotle. One taco was good but guy at the counter treats you like you should now to him. Bizarre!
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
