Just got back from a friday night dinner. This is how it went: The two of us walked in to a pretty full restaurant and were instantly greeted by the hostess. We declined the high top table cuz everybody hates those awkward high tops and were led to a corner table. It was very cramped but at least it wasnt a high top. We were brought over some water and cutlery and were left alone for five minutes. Then we were handed the menus and left alone for fifteen minutes. I managed to squeak in a drink order before our waitress left and our drinks came after fifteen minutes. She did not stick around to let us give our order so we waited and waited and finally she appeared out of nowhere in mid conversation like a fishy branzino stalking out innocent krill. We were startled and then placed our orders (both specials). The food came about twenty to twenty five minutes later and it was whack. The veal prosciutto was cooked a little weird giving it a somewhat ratchet taste, and the scallops had sand in them. We finished the meal and the only attentive one was the very polite busboy who took our stuff and was always looking to see if we needed something. We requested the dessert menu and our waitress brought it five minutes later. We chose the tiramisu to share and it was so lame. It was not the italian tiramisu that one would expect, but just semi soft lady fingers not soaked in espresso and topped with not creamy indulgent marscarpone, but some whack sweet cream. We killed the dessert anyway cuz we were trying to eat and be satisfied but satisfaction was never reached. After we finished the dessert, the what seemed to be lady manager came over and asked how everything was and we asked for the check and our busboy took care of the swiping action. We filled out comment cards and bounced. As i write this, i can feel the sandy firm scallops meshing with the overly sweet cream and stale ladyfingers and my tummy doesnt feel right. Something was sus about the place. Didnt like the atmosphere. Didnt like the food. Didnt like the service. Maybe it was a bad night. I would only try this again if someone insisted on it.

The food was great and the service was nice. We had a large group and they never rushed us to leave. The wine list was good...a bit noisy as they got busy but totally acceptable.

We recently ate at Savona, a new Italian restaurant that opened a few months ago in Scarsdale Village. My wife and I had exceptional meals . We started with salads and we were impressed by both the impressive portions as well as the selection of the greens. The menu states that all the pasta is made fresh for each meal and sure enough the pasta I ordered was perfect. The staff was helpful and friendly. Scarsdale had a shortage of great restaurants, but now with Savona, the town has a great dining spot for folks in the neighborhood who value great italian cooking.

Great place. Food was excellent. Portions were perfect. Great atmosphere, hip and happening. Great wine selection. The braised ribs was perfect and the panna cotta was creamy and smooth. Definitely going again.

PASS ON THIS PLACE. The food is OK, but the service at Savona is so terrible, that it far, far outweighs whatever merits the food may have. I've rarely seen service this bad. From the start, it was bad and then it only got worse and worse. While waiting for our table, we tried to get a drink. The bartender could not have been more uninterested in serving us. When she finally got around to it (and the bar wasn't that packed), she literally took almost five minutes just to pour the drink. That would have been long enough, except she didn't serve it at that point. Instead, she left it on the bar, out of my reach, while she played with the computer. Why play with the computer? So she could give me the bill, which she eventually did, but BEFORE she handed me my wine. In other words, I got the bill for my drink before I actually got the drink. Classy. I'll summarize the rest of the visit this way: when we were seated it took an eternity to see the waiter, it then took an eternity to get my wife's drink and even longer for me to get another glass of wine, it was another eternity before the appetizers showed up, and then another for the main course, which we were told several times would be out in "just a minute". Frankly, the most responsive person there was the busboy. I have no idea what the manager thought, because he didn't bother to come to the table. I do, however, know what some of their other patrons thought, since I could hear them complaining about the same issues. I say this without exaggeration, there are few times in my life I've seen service this terrible and unapologetically so. Sorry Savona, but I think you and I are done.

I really liked this place! A friend suggested that we try Savona after we had been complaining that we rarely find a restaurant in Westchester that is worth a second visit. We ate here last Friday night and I pleased to give high marks for the food, decor and service. We split the cheese plate for an appetizer, and for the entree I had the lamb shank and my boyfriend had a special which was the short ribs, we liked it all. The entrees were just what you wanted on a cold winters night. For dessert we shared the Domori chocolate brownie, which is perhaps one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten and if you like chocolate you MUST order this dessert. I almost didn't because they called it a brownie and thought that sounds a bit boring......it is nothing like a brownie. It is a decadent, chocolate experience not to be missed. I washed it down with the biggest ever pour of Hennessy which came in a bathtub sized snifter. As I was making my way through my after dinner drink, i decided to check Yelp (which I normally do before eating out, but this place was recommended to us and so i didn't) I was expecting to see everyone give it 4 or 5 stars and was shocked to see some less than glowing reviews. I don't know if we got lucky to be there on a good night or if this is a case of my fellow Westchester diners having no taste. I think probably the latter because frequently when someone suggests a place they like, we go and find the food and atmosphere disappointing and leave shaking our heads wondering what they liked.... but then again most people like McDonalds. So if you are looking for good food and you think you may actually know what good food tastes like, I think you will like Savona. I will definitely give this place a second trip.

Interesting menu. The crostini choices were creative and more importantly delicious. Nice vibe , friendly and attentive staff. Give Savona a try !!!

If you're looking for a place to eat in Scarsdale, give Savona a try. It's a fairly new spot offering what they call French and Italian-Riviera inspired cuisine. My husband and I stopped here for Sunday lunch this past weekend. It's not a brunch menu per se, but there were some brunch-esque specials available. The menu is quite casual but with many options. Both of us ordered paninis, veal parm and grilled chicken with pesto. Very delicious, especially with their artisan bread. And their homemade chips are scrumptious. Salty and crunchy, like a kettle chip. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Knowledgeable about the menu and the wines. A good thing, as the wine list is impressive. As is the state of the art wine vending units located above the bar. The inside of the restaurant is chic and modern. We dined outside, as it was a beautiful afternoon, plus there were some renovations taking place inside. Our waitress told us that the management was having paneling installed on the walls and ceiling to address the loudness factor of the inside dining area which was a concern for many guests. So that should allay some of the issues mentioned in previous reviews. In all, an excellent experience and well worth a return visit; perhaps next time for dinner.

Tough reservation to secure, but they are really nice about trying to get you in -- terrific menu, great staff, and the wine list is "lights out". Very happy to have this gem of a restaurant in the starved lower Westchester area.

This place is a gem beautiful atmosphere and wonderful menu and staff. Went here on a date with my boyfriend very romantic place although could use a little more lighting inside. We had a delicious dinner and were blown away by the desserts! The Budino was sensational! They have a beautiful outdoor seating area with heat lamps for those chilly spring/fall nights. Can't wait to go back!

My boyfriend and I have lived in Scarsdale for about a year now and we wanted to try a new restaurant. I remember driving by it a few months back but never got the chance to go. Finally we walked in at about 830 on a Saturday evening and luckily got seated right away, surprisingly because the place was packed. I can't remember the last time I was really impressed by a restaurant, considering we go out to eat often. The food was absolutely amazing the owner and waitstaff were friendly, attentive and gave great recommendations. We will definitely be frequenting this place!

Have been here twice. Appetizers great, main courses not so great. Had a pasta that was mush, and a branzino that wasnt fresh.

OVERATED and expensive, nice outside seating, staff is amatuer, I mean it is the fine restaurant of scarsdale. Veal was dried, and the overall meal was mediocre which is sad, really. nice outdoor seating, I guess.

I'm wondering why I haven't been coming here since the beginning. This was a random choice on a night no one felt like cooking. It did not dissapoint. Every pizza and pasta I have tried has been great. I enjoy it on a slower night, because weekends can get packed. And let's face it, it's an older crowd. I'm coming here for the food, not the scene. I love that they change the menu seasonally. It's close to home and serves good food, it's a keeper!

so sad. I walked by on Friday and saw the sad sign. Another restaurant, albeit a decent one, closes in Scarsdale. It was at least reliable. sigh..

A nice spot in the heart of Scarsdale with OK service and an interesting menu. The place always seems to have a hip crowd dining or at the bar. The dinner was the grilled pork chop, which was cooked well, but was juicy, but tough. This was a feat for an inch thick piece of meat. The broccoli rabe was crunchy with a nice kick and the fingerling potatoes were more small wedges and generic. Three items thrown on a plate..., The beet salad was ok and had no real flavor. The beets were pickled and the goat cheese was a small slither - for the highest priced salad this is definitely unacceptable. Definitely not worth the price. A hip spot with a menu that is overpriced and not a true culinary experience. Maybe I will go again, but it is unlikely I will choose this place personally.

Not sorry to see it go, but sorry to see how much potential it had to be decent but not turn it around. I had been 5 times, every time with the intention of having a couple of drinks at the bar to start, then to split some apps and dinner with my date. Specialty cocktails rarely changed, and were routinely out of season, and excruciatingly expensive. Bar service was friendly, but speed and attentiveness was awful. Two bartenders working, 6 people at the bar, both of them more interested in chatting with the staff then refilling my drink. At $15 dollars a drink, give me decent service. The potato chips were a very nice touch. With so many other options locally, I never was able to pull the trigger on having a full meal. 7 dollars for 1 crostini? 16 dollars for a salad? I watched other orders come out, and saw the portions as well, tiny. I had popped in for a drink at 9ish at the bar and was turned away a few times as well. Hopefully the next owner reads this! If you're going to be expensive, do it well and be generous.

I took my kids Sunday night. We waited one hour and 6 min for roasted chicken and pasta. The waiter and manager never apologized once for the wait. The food was good but totally unacceptable service. Actually, the bus boy apologized which was strange. This place is an epic fail as my kids said. BTW there was only one other couple in the entire restaurant so still can't figure out what the problem was.

Savona has closed their doors and thanked their customers. What happened to this once-successful restaurant?
(2)Dayday S.
The location is great, the space is nice and the service is top notch. The homemade chips on the bar are delicious. The food- not so good. We were a party of 5- the chicken was overcooked and dry, so was the shrimp & lobster fra diavolo. The fish was painfully over salted, and the pasta was under seasoned and bland. One dish, the pappardelle, tasted good. Even the dessert- mini donuts, was flavorless and overcooked. Too bad.
(2)Kellie O.
I love Savona! Very unique menu that is constantly changing and incorporating new and interesting flavors. The wine choices and specialty drinks are extensive as well. My favorite part though (other than dessert) is that when you order meat cooked to a temperature it is perfectly cooked to that. Cheers!

My parents were visiting and I wanted to show them Scarsdale Village and I thought we should try Savona. I made a reservation online through Open Table. The day before they left me a voicemail to confirm. I tried to call back to confirm but left a message on their answering machine. We were seated promptly at our reservation time but we were sat behind a big party of 10+ people with young loud kids. I felt like we were kind of shoved in the back. I should have requested a table by the window. The print on the menu is really tiny- I had to basically explain to my parents what was on the menu. So needless to say the menus are not user friendly. Service was good but this big party that we were seated near slowed the servers down a little. Food was delicious- very pricey though! Wine and appetizers are a bit overpriced- and I eat out in Manhattan a lot. Overall it was good. If you can get past the place being very small and expect to pay over $15 for a glass of wine.
(3)Dennis K.
Very nicely located in the Scarsdale village. It has a warm feeling when you step inside. This is a busy restaurant with a decent bar scene. The food is really good and the service is good as well. Overall a nice spot with good food and decent prices.

A yuppie place for sure and right up my alley. I was there for lunch on Sunday and my experience was fantastic, though my wife, who shared the same meal as me, thought it was three yelp stars. Here is why I thought Savona deserved four yelp stars. Three kinds of sparkling wine by the glass on the menu, one of which was a sparkling rose. A champagne was among them at $16 per glass served in a true flute, not one of those tiny little ones. Pizza was fantastic: real fresh and delicious. Absolutely the opposite of anything by-the-slice you will find elsewhere and close to authentic Italian pizza. It came with some herbal and oily accouterments. Salad was good, but a bit strange on my pallet. While the ingredients were listed as to not surprise, I thought it was a bit too foody for me. Not bad though, but proof I can find something to complain about! Exceptionally nice and clean bathroom. Friendly service. Expensive.
(4)Mark M.
Pretty good Italian food, and even more importantly, terrific wine selection at decent prices. The pastas and meat dishes here were all pretty good, albeit a bit over-salted in my opinion. The vegetables were terrific however. What I liked most here really was the wine selection, as they had some terrific selections at about 2.5x market price from Europe and California. The service was pretty attentive here as well. 3.5 stars.
(3)Meyers L.
The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was lovely, and most importantly, the management went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We can't wait to come again.
(5)L F.
Loud, crowded and really poor service. Begged for a waiter to order a drink and then she didn't want to take a food order because it wasn't her table. Extremely unaccommodating on menu selections. Would never go back. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
(1)June S.
A welcome addition to Scarsdale; lovely decor, incredible wine list, wonderful food. However, the manager needs an attitude adjustment - rude, self-important, argumentative. We certainly hope that changes.
(4)Ann B.
Awful restaurant & they treat their customers terribly. I would like to give this restaurant 0 stars for their extreme arrogance and lack of care of their customers. In addition, if your idea of a nice dinner is eating in a small, overcrowded, noisy restaurant with tons of people all over the bar sitting and standing right next to your table, then Savona is the right place for you to go. We went their last night and had an 8:30 PM reservation. We sat at the noisy bar where there wasn't enough help behind the bar to serve everyone. People were all over the place and we could barely hear ourselves. We checked numerous times on our reservation and at 9 pm it became clear we weren't being seated soon. So we decided to leave. As we were leaving the woman in front said she wanted to get the owner, so I could speak with him. Well guess what, he never showed up & after 5 minutes of waiting I left, but left my name and phone number for him to call me (like that was going to ever happen & of course he didn't call.) This restaurant overbooks and has total disregard for their customers. In addition, who wants to eat in a place where the tables are packed close together & you can't hear yourself speak. We would have been screaming all night long over dinner. So forget you Savona, there are so many excellent restaurants in Westchester, we don't need you. BTW we had a fabulous dinner (again) right down the road at 808 Bistro which I highly recommend.

Savona has a lovely atmosphere. The environment is welcoming and the service is friendly. I liked how diverse the menu was, and the food was quite nice. The dessert was ok -- we tried the smores dessert which was quite fun, my kids enjoyed it more than my husband and I did! I would suggest definitely trying Savona out!
(4)Randy S.
Papardelle bolognese. Best thing on the menu. They also put out a nice bread and olive oil. Very good. If you go early, you can sit at a high top. Taking off a star because they rush you if you don't have resos and whenever you call, the hostess automatically puts you on hold for minutes at a time.
(3)Joel S.
Went back last night and I'm happy to report that things are heading in the right direction. The dining room was impressively busy for a Monday. Service was very good. The food was very good- fritto misto, fried artichokes, grilled branzino and the special of chicken Milanese were all above average. A definite plus for the area.
(4)Jake F.
Went to Savona on a snowy night. They immediately welcomed us and made us feel at home. Fun, sophisticated, lively atmosphere. Food was very flavorful, well prepared and fresh. Good pizza, Branzino, grilled asparagus, risotto. Excellent, friendly service. Good wine list. Bread pudding dessert was disappointing. A bit pricey. Easy location in Scarsdale Village. Would happily return.
(4)Jay E.
Savona, come home ah!! We ate at Savona and were treated like we were eating with the owners of this friendly, neighborly restaurant. The waiter comped us with a beef crustini to start and then we enjoyed some delicious meatballs before the actual appetizers came. My wife and her friend sampled multiple wines until finally deciding on a Gavi Chardonnay that was good enough for a second bottle. Four of us had the artichokes fried to perfection and two had salads that were well presented. Dinner entrees came right on time and we were lucky to get two of the last veal dishes. The cappuccino's were 'the best we've had in some time" and the bailey's shot was more then generous. Desserts were tasty and more than filling. We'll definitely go back and suggest you do the same.
(4)Lori G.
After our first disappointing experience decided to try Savona again for a girls' night out. Food was ok but service was horrible. We are done with this overpriced amateur.
(2)Ivelise G.
I have been to this place only one time and I have to admit I was surprised and glad they opened a restaurant with such great quality in the area. Highly needed. The food was really good, including the bread and the oil. Definitely wanting to come back.
(4)Paul B.
My friend and I had dinner at this upscale Italian restaurant last night. The service was impeccable. Most of our food was delicious although I will state I might have erred by ordering the steak. It was slightly overcooked for being ordered medium and I think there are much better entrees to be had at this establishment. One would be the risotto that my friend ordered. Salads were delicious as was most everything else. Any reviewer that thinks the prices are exorbitant is being unreasonable when you take into account location, ambiance, and quality of food.
(4)Miinno N.
Good service and good food. We went for dinner on Sunday. It was crowded, but not crazy. Had fish which was delicious. I need to try more on the menu... must go back there.
(4)Michelle S.
As this restaraunt is highly reviewed and always packed when I drive by it, I was very excited to get an opportunity to experience it for myself. I was highly disappointed by many aspects. First, there is no menu to be found anywhere online which is annoying. Second, the 3-4 staff members we interacted with we're all rude, abrupt, and inattentive. We were pointed to our table (not walked over), were given 1 menu for 2 people and we're left waiting a long time before even bring asked if we wanted tap or bottled water. I was so turned off with the attitude and bad service that I left shortly after getting our water (15 min after sitting down). Too bad that its down the road from where I live and could have been my new spot.
(2)Boyet S.
So delighted of this new addition to Westchester! Came here for an early Sunday dinner and not quite it was packed due to a recent favorable review on NYT and boy - did they deliver! The staff is delightful, from the hostess to the wait staff. The menu is rightfully selected so as not to get you confused. We will definitely go back in the near future.
(4)Robert B.
Outstanding cousin to their lovely and highly rated PA location. Great food, tremendous wine selection, attentive and knowledge staff. A wonderful experience in food and hospitality. I hope it challenges the other restaurants in the area to step it up.

After my granddaughters graduation we went to Savona for lunch. They have a nice lunch menu and are moderately priced. The food was good and the service outstanding. It's certainly worth a try.
