Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

From the outside Ashley's Place looks like one of the many diner type establishments in the Brockport/Hamlin area but that is where the similarity ends. Once inside you are greeted warmly and enjoy a great dining experience. The food was plentiful and flawless, from the sample of soup with our entrees through the apple dumpling for dessert. The burger for our 10-year-old was large and not a frozen puck. The lasagna, split between 2 teenagers, with enough leftover for lunch the next day, was delicious. Prime Rib and meatloaf were both scrumptious and plentiful. Sides were corn and real mashed potatoes. The service friendly and quick. In conclusion if you are looking for a wonderful place to eat at a reasonable price you have found your spot.

We went here for their Easter dinner buffet. The food was mediocre, the service was terrible, and it was completely overpriced. $33 for a few sad buffet choices? Not at all worth it. The "prime rib" was more like a bad cut of steak, which was more fat than meat. The wait staff were all very distracted, it took forever for them to do anything, and not because they were busy. The atmosphere was not pleasant--it wouldn't take much to spruce it up and give it some charm, but as it is now, it felt more like a truck stop. I won't be going back.

I have been here a few times now for the Sunday "brunch" (not by choice, other people wanted to give it a try for themselves.) I was not impressed. I literally could not find ANYTHING I liked on the buffet. The bacon was greasy, the potato's didn't taste like any potato's I have ever had before, I figured I'd get a nice pile of rice because how can you mess rice up? Well, they ruined that when they covered it in cinnamon. DISGUSTING. From the moment we sat down, the waitress made it completely awkward and uncomfortable. Just acting really strange and eyeballing us from across the room. It also takes 15 minutes to get a refill when the place literally only has about 5 tables in it. I would rather skip brunch and just wait for dinner somewhere else than pay $30+ for 2 people to eat breakfast.

Wow, this place is a hidden gem. I had the Chicken Oscar. Like Chicken French, but with crab and béarnaise and asparagus on top. It was To. Die. For. And there is enough for two more meals. *woot* Bacon wrapped asparagus is amazing. My meal also came with a ham potato bacon soup that I could make a meal out of any day. My husband had a Smoky Jack hamburger. Fresh roll. Hamburger so thick he could barely wrap his mouth around it. Smoky, juicy flavor-bomb. Perfect fries. Rhonda (the sweet owner), wouldn't let us leave without trying dessert. Homemade Dulce de Leche pie and homemade Coconut Cream Pie. Wow. Just wow. I can't even decide which one I like better, but I know I'll be back MANY times and will bring my kids next time. Maintaining be afraid to venture down the road just a little bit, it's absolutely worth it.

A hidden little gem on the West side. Honestly, I've passed this place many times and never knew it was there. It was amazing!! They have a wide variety of homemade, comfort food items from entrees to sandwiches. They do offer a brunch buffet on Sunday; very basic with eggs, waffles, meats, potato, rice, but some different twists on the traditions.... It was excellent and the 9.99 price can't be beat. For lunch and dinner, they also have some unique items, like the Miami sub, an awesome twist to a traditional Reuben. And be prepared to take home leftovers. The sandwich was enormous, enough to split plus!! The stuffed haddock and chicken are also amazing. They are closed after brunch on Sunday, but work on filling "to go" orders for people in the community, esp elderly folks and they deliver to them if they can't get out...I think that's a wonderful service. Definitely a must try if your out in the Brockport area or want to take a nice drive.

My wife and I went here for lunch on a Saturday. The place was pretty quiet, although the snow may have kept people away. Ashley's Place describes itself as "A step above home cooking," and I would certainly agree. The menu is chock with comfort foods and diner classics. Apparently, during the week they have a dinner buffet, and on Sunday morning they have a brunch. I had the smokey cheeseburger. It was HUGE, well-cooked beef, tasty cheese, on a soft roll. Mine came with fries. My wife had a jumbo hot dog with chili. Again, very large portion of chili slathered all over the hot dog on a soft sub roll. Interesting side - if you get "pickles" with a sandwich, instead of being just the basic pickle slices, they are pickles wrapped in cream cheese and sliced ham. Pretty neat.

This place is a total gem in the rough. The decor is laid back and homey, it feels like you are dining at a relative's house. The food is incredible, and the portions are insanely huge. Along with your meal is a complimentary cup of very creatively styled soup. I ordered the chicken parm and got 4(!) meals out of it. The meatloaf is pillowy and rich with bacon. Make sure you get a to-go box so you can have room for dessert. The dolce and banana pie is a must.

Went there for brunch one Sunday morning. What a joke that was!

The food was great! You have to try the apple dumplings, they were out of this world. It's small and the staff is very pleasant. I can't wait to try the Sunday brunch.
