Meeting House Creek Inn is a beautiful North Fork waterfront restaurant. Perfectly situated off the beaten path at the beginning of the North Fork in Aquebogue and minutes from the main road that winds around and through the north fork wineries. There is a tiki bar by the docks that I was told gets busy in warm weather. We tried salad with homemade salad dressings, homemade soup, fresh fish, and excellent house merlot for wine with lunch. Very hospitable and tranquil. I went pre-season on a warm day and didn't want to leave.

Stumbled across this place after we went strawberry picking at nearby Golden Earthworm Farm. Boy are we glad we did! Not being from the area, we usually end up grabbing food at whatever fast food/chain restaurant we see along the way. This was a resoundingly better choice than TGI Fridays or Applebee's! The place is right along a marina and it's tranquil and pretty. We ate outside and it was a relaxing experience. It's definitely a local haunt; there were a number of meetings and graduation parties held inside. I ordered the crab cake sandwich with cole slaw. The sandwich was of good quality. Buttered and toasted bun, a large crispy breaded crab cake, mayo and lettuce. It was yummy and satisfying. The cole slaw was fresh and crisp. It was great eating outside next to the water, so peaceful and quiet. The servers were polite and hospitable. Definitely a welcome experience to our day trip in Riverhead!

Location: Excellent - on creek front with outdoor deck. And far enough off the main road to avoid worst volumes of Long Island weekend trippers. Menu: Good and well priced Food: Well prepared and generous Service: Good and friendly.

This seems to be a locals place, few if any tourists there on a Friday night. That is both good and bad. Good because the place is not that crowded with freaking yuppies and their preciously dressed obnoxious offspring. ( Do they still call them yuppies)? Good also because the prices are very reasonable. The downside is that all the patrons know each other and it can get a little noisy since they are mostly approaching 70 and aren't wearing their hearing aids. Okay enough of the curmudgeon remarks. This place is a find. Dinner came with soup or salad, entree, choice of carbs, coffee and dessert. Flank steak, $22. A Lobster roll filled with nothing but Lobster $21. Seating choice of outside on the deck right on the water or inside, same view, with air conditioning. Nice place to watch the sunset from.

Resoundingly OK. We found the place from a sign on the highway so you could say we stumbled across it. I had a fish sandwich with a side of slaw and a couple of glasses of red wine. All edible but nothing to go out of your way for. The highlighted red was not great bu the second try was OK. Nice quiet location on the water and kind of funky decor.

This Inn had everything. Sits right on a marina with great views. The restaurant had great atmosphere with a touch of nostalgia. Excellent menu and a October Fest special price fix with a selection of great German fare. The rest of the menu was varied and the service was excellent and professional. Not easy to find but worth the effort. Definitely recommended.

Went to Meetinghouse for a late lunch with a $25 dollar gift certificate and they refused to honor it, stating it was for dinner only. The cert didn't say anything like that, in fact it was very specifically broad. Went out of our way to go use it...Very disappointing....$25 is $25 isn't it. Isn't that $25 in their register. Won't be back. Place was empty and is stale anyway. Obviously don't give a crap about customers.

Nice place, lots of parking, friendly staff. Had a drink and some appetizers there last week - typical bar food but very good. The bartender recommended their brunch and outdoor seating - would definitely visit again and try them in the future.

Wishing there was a 3.5 star option, but I think the food is what gets it to 4. I went last sunday with two other families for dinner. The restaurant, divided into 3 sections (indoor dining room, sunroom, outside), seemed rather empty. That was, until we found out that almost everyone was outside enjoying the beautiful weather and sunset. The scenery and location are beautiful! We made our reservation for the sunroom area. The service was a little on the slow side but our waiter was very friendly and accommodating with our big party. We weren't at all rushed, so it was a nice relaxing dinner. The food was better than I expected. Not the best on the North Fork, but not disappointing at all. Obviously, I had to get seafood since we were right by the water. I tried the shrimp scampi, which came broiled in the classic garlic & butter sauce, with a choice of potato and corn on the cob. The flavor was actually quite good and my shrimp were cooked nicely. The food is very old school but, from what I heard around the table, it was very good. The baked clams were great as were the desserts. The Achilles' heel of the Meeting House is the decor; at first glance it isn't exactly a house where I'd like to meet. The ambiance is just outdated and drab. Some may find it to be charming, but for me it is in desperate need of a facelift. Besides the looks though, its a pretty good and solid restaurant. The crowd is largely on the older side of the age spectrum, but that's a good thing because its probably people that have been coming here for years.

Prices are too high for mediocre food and less than mediocre service. It's a 'could be' Restaurant. The only thing this place has going for it is the view. The overall feel is uncaring. Won't go back. Too many good restaurants on the north fork. Won't waste my $$ on mediocrity.

I wish I had the Zero Star option for my rating. Having had a nice dinner here fifteen years ago, I expected another positive experience with my fiancée. Sadly the exact opposite is what occurred. The service was really bad. We waited a half hour for our drinks and then another fifteen minutes to order while there were only a handful of occupied tables. The food quality was what you'd expect from a public school cafeteria. The North Fork seafood medley ($25) consisted of three medium shrimp, three scallop bits the size of marbles, and three tiny clams having near the consistency and weight of cobwebs, over a 2" by 1" bed of flounder. The chicken saltimbocca was inedible with a sauce that had the aftertaste of motor oil. Finally, I tried paying with my $100 Visa gift card and was told "it didn't go through because of insufficient balance". I called Visa and they confirmed the $100 balance and that it should be accepted as payment. Paying for this travesty of a meal out of pocket compounded the whole negative experience. Please avoid the Meetinghouse Creek Inn if you're seeking a good meal with decent service.

We were here with a large party and I think were only allowed to order from the price fixe menu. Mixed drinks tasted a little off, bottled beer was served with a glass. We were given breadsticks in the plastic packets that I haven't seen since I was a kid and not enough cold rolls to go around. The vinaigrette dressing on the mixed greens salad was good. I ordered the flank steak because that was all I could understand from the waitresses very thick accent. There was also chicken, flounder and penne a la vodka. Only half of those that ordered the penne received it because they ran out. They offered fettuccine a la vodka or ravioli with vodka sauce as replacements. My steak was cold and not good. It tasted like it could have been microwaved. The twice baked potatoes were really good after I added salt. No one enjoyed their pasta and said it was very bland. Chicken was dry. Dessert was supposed to be cinnamon raisin bread pudding, rice pudding or carrot cake. I'm a total dessert person and these choices did not sound good. I went with the rice pudding. I would have had the bread pudding but I hate raisins. Turns out the bland rice pudding had raisins, yuck! I should have had the bread pudding which looked really good. The carrot cake was inedible. And we could have asked for vanilla ice cream. I will not be returning here, I don't even care what's on the regular menu. That was just really bad wedding food.
