I am a Japanese from Japan, and love tea. I drive from Port Washington to Huntington to enjoy an great selection of tea at this place. I have never been disappointed. The owner, Nicole, is very knowledgeable of tea, and carefully examines the quality of tea. I have ordered their tea as a gift to a tea-loving friend of mine, and Nicole refused to sell a particular tea I ordered because she felt it might be getting old - even though, as she admitted, tea was totally safe to drink and the change in the flavor was not really noticeable. I appreciate her high standard, care for customers, and passion for tea. I am puzzled to see a previous reviewer is referring to "a Japanese influence" to assess how good their chai is, since chai is Indian and has nothing to do with Japan. I had their brownies and other baked yummies, and can testify that their brownies are one of the best I have tasted (I have had many American brownies), and did not taste "Asian" at all (whatever it means). I enjoy American, Japanese and Chinese pastries, and am familiar with the difference in style. Sip offers a good range of Asian tea, but as far as the pastry is concerned, for better or for worse, I see no Asian influence except for some cookies with matcha. I don't think this information is even relevant, but from what I know, their baker has no training in Asian-style pastries. More important and relevant information is that he bakes many creative vegan (and non-vegan) pastries and pies from scratch, typically with organic ingredients.

It was mine and my friends first time there, and the owner was extremely sweet and helpful. She even accommodated us when we wanted iced tea in a pot/carafe. The tea itself was fantastic (we had Drunken Concubine and Hawaiian White Tea) , but we also loved the freshly made baked goods. The Elvis Brownie and the Russian tea cookies lasted about 30 seconds at our table. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Long Island!

Not a fancy pants tea house. Just a comfortable place with great food and tea. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the owners are the people behind the counter and they are so friendly and knowledgeable about the different teas. If I could go here every day I would!!

Really like this place, but many of the teas are really expensive. Not so many choices for less than $10 a pot. The ambiance and decor were nice. Loved the baked goods, especially the cinnamon bun and linzer tarts. Service was good but could have been better, (we weren't given any napkins with our food?) Lose a star for prices and unpredictable, bad hours. Tried to go a little later and there were other people who also wanted to go but they were closed, they should really stay open a little later on weekends.

This is the exact sort of independent, cool, beautiful, delicious type of spot Huntington was missing! I was there this weekend for a spot of tea and light breakfast and have only wonderful things to say. The owner was just lovely, the tea selection is delightful, and everything about Sip is the epitome of green. I am so happy there is now an alternative to the Starbucks mega-chain that sits smack in the middle of the village. It's a tiny bit north of the Main Street but absolutely worth it, if only for the amazing scones!

What a lovely tea shoppe! Nicole (the owner) has travelled the world on expeditions for the finest teas and displays photos from her travels on a screen for all to see and participate. I haven't been to any of the groups that hold space here, yet, but I'm excited to dabble with the knitting club and book club (Grandma-style A-game). Get a pot with free refills of hot water. The tea is strong enough that it is steeped to perfection every time. The vegan treats are remarkable, too!

A cafe/tea house requires a few things to protract success: 1. Quality food/adequate selection 2. Quality Coffee/Tea/adequate selection 3. Good ambience/vibe 4. Reasonable correlation of price to quality I ordered the vegan peanut butter cup, acai bowl (which is ALWAYS terrible but this place really does an amazing job) and German Morning tea. All three were amazing. I will certainly be back.

Located right outside of Huntington village on New York Ave, north of Book Revue and Thai USA, Sip Tea Lounge offers an expansive menu of teas, from herbal tea to black tea and blends made in-house that can be ordered by the pot. While the bakery and food selection isn't quite as robust in selection, everything served in Sip Tea Lounge is prepared vegan friendly. I came here during the day on the weekend. There were about 15 seats available. I ordered a cold chai tea latte with herbal tea and almond milk (I was able to chose from herbal or black tea, almond milk or regular milk) with one of their coconut chocolate chip scones. At $8.85 for the pair, it was a little pricey right off the bat. The chai was not comparable to what you would try at a Starbucks. It was pretty watery, so I was able to switch for a warm chai tea which was much better, the drink tasted like a full bodied chai with a ton of flavor, palatable spice, a bite, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The warm drink also went much better with the scone, which considering the vegan preparation was very dense, very filling. I did not taste the coconut as much as the chocolate. The interior of this spot has a earth-centric look to it, wood, stone, distressed materials. There are also coffee pots on display and books for sale and browsing. Sip Tea Lounge hosts a book club, an open mic night and organizes a running club. It's an interesting spot that will serve tea fanatics and connoisseurs, but you might be better off with the hot drinks than the cold drinks available.

Cool little tea lounge with attentive staff and a very local village feel. I come here for a takeout tea before my guitar lesson next door and since I'm a singer, on certain days I've asked their opinion on teas for my throat. The staff has always been great about making suggestions and then usually manage to brew up an excellent cup of tea for me. I've never sat and relaxed there but I should. The atmosphere is so inviting and cozy, it encourages you to slow down the world for an hour or two.

I simply couldn't think of an idea for Valentine's Day unitl it struck me. How about sticking with the theme of the year and expanding upon it: "Fifty Shades of Earl Grey"? So I took her to the Sip Tea Lounge for a nice pot of tea and some relaxation after a hectic week of tending to her sick son and her husband fast off of shoulder surgery. She needed some relaxation and a tea party was just the way to go. When we arrived we found the trellis surrounding the door to be a neat idea. The owner Nicole was nice enough to set a table aside for us, and after some consultation with Nicole we settled on a nice pot of Pretty Tea for two. Pretty Tea is a sort of minty, fruity chamomille mixture that was light, fragrant and served in some tea cups that were reminiscent of a chinese restaurant. For a morning tea it was quite nice. We paired the tea with a beautiful choclate chip scone which Nicole warmed up perfectly. She then added a dish of lemon curd on the side. Being a giant lemon bar guy, I love lemon curd but was a little skeptical putting it on a chocolate chip scone. I needn't have worried becasue we both decided it was delicious and worked great. We really enjoyed our morning tea at the Sip Tea Lounge. The variey of teas and the treats are excellent. This turned out to be a great idea for Valentine's Day.

Great place, small and cozy we almost missed it walking around Huntington. They have sample teas on the wall and a wide selection. The prices are decent, no more than you'd pay for a coffee at a cafe. Everything comes unsweetened unless you ask so take note if you're getting one to go. They have a calender of events too. All in all a great experience I'll be bringing friends next time around!

I'm going to keep this simple: I love this place. I'm a hard-core tea snob and I give this place my total approval. They have some really good, high quality teas. The interior is small, yet cozy. I heart the decor. The owners are super friendly. If you are in Huntington village, skip Starbucks and go to Sip Tea Lounge!

This place is great. Came here on a Sunday afternoon with my fiancée and her friend and had a few pots of tea, and a couple baked goodies. We also tried the acai bowl, with fresh fruit and granola which was also good. The people here are very friendly and the people that come in all seem to be regulars. The atmosphere is very cozy, and has a bit of a rustic feel to it. They have an awesome stone top table and a few wooden table tops as well as five seats near the "bar". There isn't much sitting room, but if you can get a seat you'll find yourself lost for a couple hours sipping some great tea. They have a few events such a knitting, board game night, open mic night. You can also just bring a good book, read, or socialize with a few friends. Definitely a place I would recommend to tea drinkers and people who are interested in the tea world. 5 stars, definitely a must try if you're in the area.

I love coffee/tea shops. There's just something so satisfying and comforting about sipping and enjoying a hot cup of great coffee or tea. The inside of this coffee shop is small but clean and cozy. There are little containers of tea samples that you can smell. I ordered a cup of green tea matcha latte, which is not offered in a lot of places. It was perfectly made and unsweetened so I was able to adjust the sweetness. One disappointment tho, no latte art. Also at over 6 dollars for the larger size, it was a bit steep.

The Sip Tea Lounge is an outstanding local business in Huntington. The selection of teas is varied and of high quality. Whether you buy the tea to go, or pay more for a pot and sit a while through a couple steepings, I find the prices to be reasonable for the quality. If you're a little hungry, there are organic and vegan options, baked in house. Scones, tasty turtle cheesecake bars, pastries, and unique treats are available to nibble on. I have a weakness for the coconut-chocolate chip macaroons. The ambiance is exceptional. The decor is unique, with natural stone and recycled wood. The simplicity and care of construction of the surroundings goes perfectly with the tea and food. If you have questions about the tea, or healthy living, the knowledge of the owner, Nicole, and her staff always impresses me. They are always willing to have a friendly chat with customers about various topics as they make tea. If you visit, I'd recommend sitting down with a single serving pot of a tea you may have never tried before. Relax and enjoy the experience!

Updated: This is a very nice place, no doubt- but THE PRICES ARE INSANE!! $9+ for tea?! Yes you pay for a great ambiance there, but still. I'm going to stick with the tea place at Book Revue- same level of quality, and normal prices.

Yes it's small yes! But that just gives the owners and people inside a close community feel! There is no place on Long Island like this, especially I'm Huntington. The parking is convenient, and the location near town is ideal! If there is no seats grab a cup and go walk around town! Or grab some to take home and cuddle up with a loved one and relax. The variety of teas and snacks are perfect as well!! I can't say enough good! The vibe is soo chill!! Just go! Just see for yourself! You will fall in love too!!! I can't wait to Go back and bring my friends!!!

Love this place! We came here after brunch because, well, we love tea. I had seen this as a "hot new business" on Yelp, and walked past it on the way to Toast this morning and had a hankering to check it out. The inside has a welcoming rustic feel to it. Lots of reclaimed wood, high ceilings, very beautiful and the way I'd love for my kitchen/dining space at home to look like. It is a bit small inside, not very many tables but it's very cozy. We chatted it up with Toshi who was very knowledgable of teas, his wife Nicole wasn't there when we first came in. Turns out, they blend their own teas, and that company is called The Tea Plant. Funny enough, we knew this couple from the Cinema Arts Centre from last year. Note my review on that place how I mentioned the "All in this Tea" event. Their company, along with a few others, were there after the show with teas to try. I like how they have the teas on the wall for you to smell, and almost all the food/tea is organic. A+ for that. They use a lot of ForLife tea products for serving (which are great products for tea people) as well as cast iron kettles and cups (which I prefer when teaing out). I really, REALLY hope this business succeeds. Huntington Village needs a place like this. I miss the days of Classy Coffee, and this place is really great. We didn't try any of the food, though we wanted to order the Russian Matcha green tea cookies (they were out, sad face). We chatted up the owner a bit more, and I asked if they will have outside seating when the weather is warmer (they will), and he said that if business goes well they may expand in the future. Being a fan of green, we opted for the Sencha. It was $14 for a pot for two. Now this may seem pricey to you - but think about what you pay for a latte at Sbucks. The tea is very high quality (and the boy and I know good tea) so it's worth it. You can also get additional steepings to make the tea go further. I'm excited to go back and try the chai and rooibos (tisane) next time. A return visit is surely in order, and hopefully the matcha cookies will be in stock then!

The tea I got was mind blowing good (and I'm kind of a tea snob). Considering how impressive the tea was, the price was very fair! There were two things that kind of blemished the experience for me... 1. I couldn't get comfortable. I'm not sure why (maybe it's a feng shui kind of thing), but no matter how or where I sat, I felt a compulsive need to reposition or relocate (then again, maybe I was being a little crazy that day, and the problem was me). The chair/table arrangement could be better. 2. The music... bloody hell the music... I would have preferred silence over the string of surfers' anthems that played while I was there. Otherwise, totally worth it.

I came here on a Thursday evening, so the shop was pretty empty. The decor is cozy with a rustic theme. I ordered a small pot of the jasmine pearls, which was very good. You can smell the different leaves they have. I also bought a Russian cookie (?); it was like a walnut cookie that went well with the tea. I loved the presentation of the tea. It came in a cute pot and tea cup set on a small wooden tray. The leaves were set on the side so they didn't soak too much. There is one hour street parking during business hours and a free municipal parking lot right across the street. There were only 3 tables and some seats at the small bar, so it's not somewhere I would go to with a big group. The sales associate was very kind and helped me pick out a tea and dessert since it was my first time there. I would definitely come here again!

I love this place solely for their acai bowls and other treats. However, the service lately has been sub-par. They are always behind and I've tried three or four times to come in but they were either closed or packed. If a business is so packed then they should put some money into hiring more workers to meet the needs of their customers. Also, one time I ordered an acai bowl and the employee said she was out of the two main ingredients for an acai bowl because she didnt know when they last went grocery shopping. Another time I was in there and I had to wait 40 minutes while I was on my lunch break because the blender broke and they once again ran out of ingredients. Great shop but I would like it a lot better if they got their act together and started acting more professionally.

Absolutely terrific! Perfectly quaint little tea shop, perfect for reading a book or visiting with a friend. Lots of vegan baked goods, a plethora of vegan milk options, and the tea is spectacular. The ambiance is comfortable. I would highly recommend!

Sugoi ! Asombroso! Jingrén! Need I say it in more languages? Sip tea lounge is amazing! As a self proclaimed tea snob and lover of all things made with camellia sinensis I can wholeheartedly agree with other yelpers that this place IS the cats' meow!* Sip tea lounge is a calming, rustic ,earthy tea house with a hint of Japanese flair that tantalizes your sensory receptors both visually and tastefully. The owner is responsive and sweet and will try to accommodate her customers tastes and preferences. The menu is assorted with all your loose tea staples such was dragonwell, matcha, genimacha, puh er, chai, etc.** You'll find a small assortment of things to nibble on such as mini-tea sandwiches and various baked sweets which are all are made in house. Nicole will prepare your food on the spot in a super sanitary manner and serve it to you on a quaint tea tray. I had the Genmaicha, a scone and a cucumber and dill tea sandwich. The tea was brewed oh-so-perfectly. In total, the foodstuffs did not quite comprise of a lunch portion but was completely satisfactory for tea time snacks. All tea pots come with refills and a smile free of charge :) Sip is the real deal. Despite being a tea lounge it is not A) Girly B) Pink or C) Super-frilly-princess delicate with porcelain and flowers everywhere. Ladies, feel free to being your gentlemen here without resistance. They also sell their own blends of loose tea so toss that teavana and start sippin' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * Or pajamas, or whiskers or the the dog's bollocks. You get the point. ** Lovers of bagged Lipton tea only would not understand... and if they did their heads would asplode.

What a great place!!! I love everything about it. The ambiance is very chill, like eco zen. The service was great too, the young lady who was working there was so patient, she walked over & showed me different teas, explained the differences in the ones I was interested in & let me smell them to get an idea how they would taste. Im telling you the one I thought I wanted changed after I got to experience their aroma. I stayed to enjoy my tea experience and the presentation was beautiful as well, I absolutely hate when you stay & get a paper cup, I dont know why but I want a cup or mug, it stays hot longer & tastes better, plus its prettier :) I ordered a pot of Houjicha it could easily serve 2, so those who thinks its pricey here I have to disagree it was $5 you pay almost that at Starbucks (and you get a paper cup) plus they will refill the pot. I also got a Russian tea cookie, it was so good, very tender & not to sweet. All the baked goods looked really good & very fresh and I think the prices were very reasonable for them also. I am so glad to have a cool spot like this nearby, cant wait to go back.

I drove all the way from Queens to this place ready to have some good tea because I LOVE tea. Boy was I disappointed. This tea place has a japanese influence so you would think the tea would be good.....nope not at all. I ordered the chai tea....worse chai tea ever. Very weak, no aroma. I was scared to try the brownies because I know never to buy asian pastries. ( sorry my fellow asians but pastries is not your thing I love ya'll though I really do) Terrible brownies. If you want a real tea spot check out the tea places in Westchester and in the City.

WONDERFUL , soothing, cozy tea lounge with fabulous, fresh made tea and innovative tea blends. Nicole is the owner and she will make you feel at home immediately. Love the atmosphere and design! Don't miss the fabulous organic pastries and cookie bars (the ginger bar is amazing!) They are freshly made every day. Wish I could spend the entire day there!

I was looking for a quiet place to drink some tea and get work done when I stumbled across this hidden gem. The cafe has a modern/eco vibe, as do the employees. It's a small lounge (seats a couple dozen) that is quiet, well lit, and the perfect place to do work. The owner is friendly and helpful. The baker filled the room with delicious aromas of Hawaiian tea cakes and scones. Everything is homemade. I had a pot of tea (with a free water refill) and a sun-dried tomato scone that was both sweet and savory. I highly recommend this wonderful establishment.

This place is a must visit even if you don't like tea. The all organic food is yummy. Recycled wood, no VOC paint, green packaging. Cozy, relaxing. Great for everyone. As an avid tea drinker, I appreciate tea shops that have a similar appreciation and a staff both knowledgable about their tea blends, as well as hand-on in creating the house blends. Their wide selection of black, green, white, herbal, and house blends are all very tasty and comforting, and pairs well with their baked in-house pastries! They have certain nights with open-mic poetry and music, which is always a nice touch. While the staff is also knowledgable and passionate about their teas and pastries, they are also incredibly friendly and provide great service. While out with my friend and his parents, we wanted to take our 1/4 of a pot of tea left to go. They happily obliged, but also brewed us more tea to fill the rest of the pot free of charge, so we left with a full pot! There's no other place like this in the area, and I always love popping in to Sip Tea. Always worth the trip! One down side is that the place is VERY small, so I wouldn't recommend coming in large groups, no more than 4 people max. But a very nice place, with a homey ambience, and a good place to get cozy and enjoy a good cup and good company.

I love this place! I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. Despite being quite small - there are only four or five tables - the inside is gorgeous. The wooden beams, the cute little tea containers; just splendid. Though I feel the smallness is a drawback, it certainly creates a kind of intimate and romantic setting you won't find anywhere else on the Island. There's a large menu of teas to choose from and plenty of samples to try out if you're not sure. Treats are also bountiful and their baker does a great job with the scones and cinnamon rolls. The (I assume) owner is highly knowledgeable and in general a sweetheart. She knew exactly what she was talking about and filled me in with lots of details on different drinks. The TV monitor played a slideshow of pictures from her trip to China and the music was quite soothing. My only gripe is how small it is. It would be nice to have outdoor seating available come spring time, which I assume will happen - just not yet in the freezing temps! Otherwise, GO THERE NOW! With a friend, too. The tea for two is wonderful! Try the cinnamon rolls as well.

Came back again but this time brought a friend of my own. I dream about the acai berry bowl. it is a must try. topped with their own house made granola. i dont know what they do to make it but i never tasted granola like this! the feeling i get would be closely animated to when a cartoon character was just passed by a hottie and their eyes bulge out with hearts as their ears steam up.. it is the way i feel about it. we also shared a pot of jasmine pearl tea. very light and refreshing. Cant wait to go back and try something new again. so far i have not been disappointed

This place is great when you need to relax in a comfortable atmosphere. It is small and lovely, Nicole (the owner) is very nice and helpful, and the tea is great. Having studied tea-making for the past three summers it has been incredible to see how the tea is brewed when you order it - and not made hours before. It is very personable and great for going to alone and with families - not good for large and loud friend groups. The food is not very filling, but it is not supposed to be - just don't come here for a satisfying meal. A very wonderful and personal experience.
