About Taco Bell
Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.
The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.
Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Wow, for the owner of the place ... WHAT A DISGRACE!! About midway into our meal he comes to our table to say hello (he's always had kind of a creepy vibe) my gf and I asked him if anything is gluten free on the menu. He said to us people in this neighborhood don't care about this kind of thing plus it's hard to keep and goes bad. Interesting since quite a few places in Manhattan and in this particular area have gluten free items on their menu that don't go bad. He really seemed uneducated and flippant about it. Now I don't have Celiac disease but I do have a gluten intolerance which now more people do and want to avoid it if they have that option. I understand his restaurant isn't in New York City and maybe in an area where people aren't as health aware but to have this attitude against it was a real turn off. I have to say we've been coming to this place for a couple of years cause the food is good and the staff is nice as well. As we were leaving he says to us in a condescending way, 'have a gluten free weekend.' I mean really??? What a complete MORON! I then confronted him and said I will in fact never eat here again. His numerous insincere apologies fell on deaf ears as we left the building. UGH!

I feel like this place is really underrated. Yeah the owner is a little weird to some but I've never had a problem, I have actually seen him give away fried Oreos so how bad can he be? The cup size is great (I know what a silly thing to comment on), but it really is the biggest cup I've seen in a restaurant. I've had the quesadillas, appetizer platter, and burgers they always come out good. The only reason why it isn't 5 stars is because it isn't the best food I've had in my life, but is it good.

The best burgers in Pelham. The staff is respectful and the waiters are always friendly. The fries are good too. The place is clean and always has the sports games on.
(5)Gigi S.
Unassuming place that blew my mind, and taste buds. I had the chipotle beer battered sliders. Best I've ever had. Loved them. Also, you MUST have the sangria!
(4)Lisa S.
Rockwell's came highly recommended by my friends, but I was not impressed. If you're not a hamburger person, this isn't the place for you. I decided to have lunch here with four friends. The prices were reasonable, but my appetite was not satisfied. The clam chowder was lukewarm and had no seasoning/taste, the fried calamari was greasy, the sautéed spinach was oily, and the blackened salmon was barely edible. They took "blackened" to a whole other level that I've never experienced! And please don't serve me iceberg lettuce and tell me it's caesar salad. We ordered coffee/tea after eating. My hot water was straight up cold. That tells me that they don't pay attention to the small details. Our server was pleasant, no problem there. Slightly old fashioned decor...like Pizzeria UNO's. The bathroom is a tissue box. Two stalls, but two people can't stand in the bathroom at the same time. It's that tiny. Hold it, and drive down the road to the Pelham Manor Shopping Center :) I won't be back, and unless you're in the mood for burgers and fries, this spot isn't for you.

I love dining here, it's reasonably priced and tasty. Perfect for families and for hanging with friends, a low-key dinner date or watching the game. They have a good beer selection, (although I wish they had more IPA options..) I ordered the sampler, the chicken fingers were delicious (crispy and juicy), not a huge fan of the buffalo wings though everything was good. The chicken parm is good and the mesclun chicken salad are my fave. The service is always pleasant, they are welcoming and truly provide service with a smile.
(3)TJ O.
PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!!! I found this place by doing a Google Search so I wasnt expecting much.... Well!! I thought it was GREAT!! My friend had the chicken burger and it was delicious. I had a Quesadilla that was surprisingly good. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria and I had no complaints. Service was pretty good too We will definitely be back!!!
(4)Sarah L.
Great food and staff but won't be dining here any longer. They treat their staff horribly and I won't give my business to an owner who doesn't know how to manage his restaurant or treat people. Been in on several occasions and have talked to wait staff. After recently over hearing how the owner talked to a waitress infront of me I was disgusted. Learn how to treat people, you won't be getting my business any longer.
(1)George C.
The food is consistently good and drinks are poured well...but one thing that bothers me about this place is not being handicapped accessible. My daughter is disabled and while I can carry her in now since she is 2.5 years, I won't be able to as she gets older. Seems like a reasonable fix as to not exclude guests with special needs. Something worth considering.
(3)Julie G.
I came here VERY hungover on Saturday afternoon with a bunch of friends. We sat in a booth for literally FOUR HOURS and no one tried to rush us out. We were eating greasy food, being loud and having obscene conversations and drinking... but not very quickly. I am literally shocked that they let us just hang out for that long without pressuring us to drink quicker or order more food. I had the wings and fries. The wings were awesome, fries were meh and my Sierra Nevada was perfect. Definitely a solid decision to come here after a night of excessive drinking and wedding shenanigans. Also to be noted - there really is no dress code here. I showed up in yoga pants, a hoodie and Toms and my friend was still wearing his suit pants and button down from the night before.. well most of us were either wearing yoga pants or our clothes from the night prior. Good stuff.

My husband and I love the Rockwell's quesidilla it it amazing. Everything else we have tried has just been ok. I wish they had free parking.
(4)Amanda G.
Hubby, my son and I happened upon Rockwells, while looking for a place to eat on a late night. We didn't expect to find anything of substance and our first choice was already closed so we drove around until we saw Rockwells. Walked inside, were greeted and sat immediately and made our food orders. We had some really good burgersthat were huge and actually cooked to temp. We watched the Olympics on their many televisions and all in all, the meal was good. I am always glad to find a diamond in the rough, especially in our neck of the woods. It makes it a ot easier to figure out what we're gonna eat when we have not plans or food in the fridge.
(4)Suzee Q.
I've been back several times and the issues are the same. Food ok, service ok, atmosphere ok, prices a bit high. Also, eating outside is a great option but management does not police the smokers right outside the front doors so you get to ask them to move away if you want to enjoy fresh air with your al fresco meal.
(3)Baby mama M.
Why did we wait so long to come here!!?! Family friendly restaurant with good, prompt service, good quality food, and lots of TV screens. It's standard American fare executed well (based on my one meal). There were lots of family here when we dined on a Wednesday night so there may be some screaming children, but the restaurant is large enough that you can probably ask for a more quiet seat and they also have a lovely patio.
(4)Lisa M.
I haven't visited Rockwells for a few years, and after a recent visit I was reminded why. The food is bland to mediocre, the prices ridiculous for what you are presented with. And I will not bother to detail the forgetfulness of the wait staff. The only reason I am giving it two stars rather than one is the general bar atmosphere is lively, if you're looking for a place to sit, have a beer and watch a game, visit. Otherwise, there are far better restaurants to spend your money in the surrounding area.
(2)Joseph T.
Great food & service. Great price for the quantity of your food. Definitely will return!
(5)Michelle C.
Went for lunch with some girlfriends, and we were pleased with the experience. Not overjoyed or running back, but pleased. The star of our meals was the side of sauteed squash - perfectly cooked, fresh and lightly seasoned. Grilled chicken panini, mexican medley sandwich, and mushroom/spinach pizza were all good, but forgettable. Awesome coffee though. Service was overall good, and it was nice that they left us alone with our coffee to chat... but having to track someone down for the bill after looking for someone for at least 25 mins was a bit annoying.
(3)Richard D.
I'm giving this place a 4-Star because of the wings! Other than that I really don't go back for anything special. This place is definitely a #classic in my village but I really don't get too excited when I'm at the place unless I'm having an extra beer and the game is on. The atmosphere is definitely worth the trip to bring friends or family and watch a big game but they need to step up their game at times. Check it out, you tell me!
(4)S B.
Service was great but food was gross! After paying $20 for the ribs, I was disappointed! Dry meat with sauce thrown on top!
(2)John K.
I had the gorgonzola burger with onion rings. My wife had a hamburger with sweet potato fries. The food was excellent the beer's were cold and served in a frosted mug, nice touch. The service was great. Plenty of TV's on with many different games. They also have QuickDraw if you like to gamble a little while you eat.
(5)Joe V.
I see reviewers are being conservative, not giving up the 5 stars even though they have no major complaints. I'll be generous and give Rockwell's the full 5. Have been there 3-4 times and was consistently satisfied. This place delivers what it promises - it's a family-friendly sports bar with a solid menu. It's not pretentious a all, and the prices are very reasonable, even though Pelham is an upscale neighborhood and they could charge more. We live in New Rochelle and make the drive over time after time because we know we'll get good service and an enjoyable meal and drinks.
(5)jane s.
First time in years went back to try Rockwells. Ordered salad with my entree. The cucumbers were frozen and the lettuce was hardly edible. I called the waiter over and showed him the salad. He left with the frozen cucumbers and never returned with a fresh salad. Chicken Fajitas tasted burnt and the lettuce and tomato side dish was spicy to the point it burned your mouth. Asked for bread and we were told the restaurant was closed the day before due to Easter Sunday and they had no bread to serve with the entrees. Today is Monday don't restaurants get deliveries. I asked the waiter if he had any breadsticks and ironically he returned with bread sticks and slider rolls. Waiter never came back to asked if we needed anything else while we were eating our entrees.
(2)Jared V.
Nachos are great, more like "chili cheese chips". Rockwells is kind of like a home town applebee's. Decor is a little crappy and run down, but a good feeling. outdoor seating which is rare around here.
(4)Michael C.
Great local family place for burgers, sandwiches, dinner plates, and salads. Good bar area with several TVs. The food is very good pub style fare. Decent quality and well prepared and friendly service. Specials menu. Sidewalk tables in the front and patio in the back for summer.
(4)Kris M.
There service is okay. The food is better than a local diner. Nothing special. The salads are pretty good and all the portions a big. The sweet potato fries are really good and the wings not bad, brownie dessert is pretty good and unsweetened iced teas me and my best friend love they come in a hug cup. Nachos are okay overall nothing special but there are some good things on the menu. I only come here if I don't want to travel for food, it's late, or I am stuck in Pelham for some reason.
(3)Elena Y.
Standard bar food. Family friendly. I think we ordered a french onion soup, pulled pork, fajitas and a kid sized burger. The soup was a little bleh, but edible. Everything else was average and met expectations. The major down side is that there's no low cal options for anyone watching their waistlines.
(3)Anthony C.
Food not bad , but the noise from the bar is deafening . Can not have a normal conversation.
(3)Ali K.
I don't go to bars in my town! With that being said, i can't believe my friends dragged me into this place, i literally said WTF! When we started walking towards the bar. I don't want to see any clowns from High School who basically bring up the same old crap and its like great i could care less, i have a job, a hot gf, and good friends i don't care to revisit high school. Any way the restaurant is kind of small, was not happy that the Ohio State game which happened to be the game of the week wasn't on one of there many big screen tv's, but they had the Texas and Tennessee games on multiple televisions! Really?!?! IF YOUR CLAIMING YOUR A SPORTS BAR MONITOR THE TV'S FOR THE CUSTOMERS OK! The food honestly was decent, had some wings which i mean weren't bad but weren't great and had a burger that was alright. Prob the best thing about the restaurant was the sweet potato fries and the hot blonde bartender she's the real reason i would go here. I've gone to better places in my town growing up, so i'd save my money and go somewhere else.
(2)KC C.
It's got the same standard as a chain restaurant, but at least I enjoyed the Rockwell illustrations. Overall, I would say this place was average. Got the chicken burger, which is a good alternative to the beef, along with a few beers. That always makes for a good lunch. The service was fine. I did have to wave down the server a few times, but no major issues.
(3)Jack M.
Recently went and had a TERRIBLE experience, no service, had to chase the bartender for a drink...and the bill...BUT...and here's the "BIG BUT"...the owner was there and I told him what happened and he not only comped my meal he respectfully requested I give them another try as they were short-staffed that day. So I did. And it was an entirely different experience. Attentive service, good pub food, and ice cold draft beers. Just what you would want from a place like this. Games on TVs too. Recommended!
(4)Tyler L.
Rockwells is a good neighborhood place, but I'd probably go somewhere else in Pelham (and usually do). Great sports bar I think, but I'm not really into sports. I keep meaning to go to the comedy night on Saturday too - I think they get some pretty decent comics.
(3)Marion C.
A little pricey for a Thursday night dinner for three. Everything was OK - nothing bad - service was good, but the food was nothing that would elicit a WOW. I had chicken fajitas, sizzling and tasty, but I have had better Husband had steak, again OK but nothing fantastic. Son had ribs. He reports they were delicious - falling off the bone good. All in all decent, just nothing to write home about.
(3)M B.
Average to poor food. Nothing special. I had hoped that this would be a place that we would go to more often, but the quality of the food just isnt there. This has the potential to be the go to place for families in Pelham, but they have to hire some more experienced chefs and update the aged decor. Only go here if you are watching a football game and are starving.
(3)Ross S.
For what it is Rockwells is overpriced. The quality of food is decent, but nothing to go out of your way for. My girlfriend and I went there for multiple meals. The only thing we found there that was decent were the hamburgers.
(3)Alfredo K.
Great place to get a drink and grab some good average priced food. The wing were good. The burgers were above average. The sweet potato fries were a little greasy. My wife had a salad with chicken, lettuce, almonds, apples, and celery which she liked.
(3)SK K.
This place was my Savior, but the food was OK. After my car ran out of gas, much to my own negligence, It wouldn't start even after the nice Westchester HELP trucks poured 4 Gallons of gas in my tank. Instead of taking the train, I called a friend and decided to hang out in Rockwells restaurant in the cold April New York night. The place was crowded, with the bar totally occupied. There were big screen showing Golf and Baseball. The place is fairly large, and there is more seating downstairs, pretty much the same size as above. After the waiter took me on a round of upstairs, and finding no free table, decided to seat me downstairs. It was much casual in the basement, younger staff who were kidding with each other. After some wait the waitress came over, recommended the mushroom burger and fries. I did take her recommendation. The fries were great, but the burger was ok. As i was about to leave a band started playing and I left the place to the tune of "Brown eyed Girl". Overall nice cozy atmosphere, but based on my one outing, it was ok as far as food is concerned

Normal run-of-the mill bar... nothing outstanding, but gets the job done. The burgers are the best thing on the menu. Don't waste your time or money on anything else!

Never disappointed at Rockwell's on Wolfs Lane in Pelham. They always have a diverse menu and the food is good!! Pictured here is my favorite garbanzo bean salad with fresh beautiful avocado. We also order a crock of French Onion soup, baby back ribs and mashed potatoes with gravy that were excellent! A small order of their buffalo wings and meatballs made with oatmeal in sauce with garlic bread that were amazing!

Great wings! They are crispy, spicy and saucy, the ultimate wing trifecta. For the fall they, have been offering a Saranac pumpkin ale, holy hell, it's fall in a frosted mug. They usually have every game playing, so you can eat some good, awful for you food, without missing a beat. The burgers are pretty good & Super filling, as much as I want to always eat the whole thing, I never can.

The family and I were heading back home to CT from JFK. It was late and we were hungry. So I decided to look for the fork icons on the sat nav. One of them looked promising, Rockwells. A slow drive by and we all decided it looked inviting. We quickly parked and headed inside ready to chow. The atmosphere is what your atypical American bar and grill promises, dark wood furnishings, movie related decor and a lively small bar. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered one of the "mad burgers," an A1 Bacon Cheddar burger. Don't ask for it medium, only made well done because it's as thick as Sofia Vergara's accent. And it was quite possibly the best burger I've eaten. The cheddar, A1 and bacon is cooked inside the 100% prime chuck. The wife got the mushroom onion burger which was equally as good. Others in our party ordered pulled pork and the turkey club. They enjoyed their meals, but I really think the burgers are what makes this place stand out. Next time I'm on the Hutchison Parkway, I will not pass Rockwells up.

Hmmm, oh Rockwells... This was my first favorite place in Pelham is after looking at apartments I stopped here for a beer and they carried my favorite Peak Organic IPA! Okay so I know restaurants trains what they have on tap regularly and for the most part that's a good thing but since Rockwells abandoned Peak Organic IPA everything seemed to go downhill. There comedy is pretty good, their food is pretty awful... Beer, well that depends. Service... They are always happy to take back my undercooked burger (yes it's happened more time than I can count). All this said, limited options in Pelham.
